It happened again. This evening was the third time I’ve been in a small group session with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban. I told the visiting journalists and publishers that they were going to be blown away by this guy, because they’re not going to believe how different he is from the way he is portrayed in the Western media. He’s sharp, funny, brilliant, and completely confident. He’s not hovered over by press aides, and he doesn’t guard his words to the point where he says nothing but mush. He’s really interesting. As I told the folks I talked to before hand, at the conference, who were invited to meet later with the PM, “You’re not going to believe that a world leader is actually like this.”
As usual, after the event, there were stunned. Orban spent two hours with us, answering every question — even particularly tough ones from a Polish journalist — and was clearly loving it. I was never around Bill Clinton personally, but the things I read about how he was a natural politician — it’s at least as true of Viktor Orban. Last year, I was talking to a Fidesz politician about the PM, and he said there’s not another politician in this country who can go from strategizing at the top level, to talking to country people at a farmer’s market, and be utterly genuine in both places. I believe it. If he were on TV more in the United States, the view people have of Hungary would be totally different.
Here’s what a natural politician he is. Towards the end of our two-hour session, he mentioned that today is Thursday, the day he always sets aside for personal reading. A journalist asked him what he’s reading now. He mentioned a couple of books, one of which is a Hungarian translation of a Joe Biden biography. He said he wanted to know something about the American president. He added that Biden is not his favorite political leader, but that he really admires the political tenacity of the man, especially the way Biden fought back after his first wife died in a car crash. It was clear that Orban really meant it. It was one old general signaling his admiration for one on the other side, simply because he found something admirable in the man’s character. Only somebody who has been on the inside of politics for a long time could make that kind of judgment.

The firm said it was forced to act in order to keep the turbines warm during very cold weather in December. But a whistleblower has told the Sunday Mail the incident is among a number of environmental and health and safety failings.
The worker, who asked to remain anonymous, said: “The Scottish Government wants to make our country attractive to foreign investors as 40 per cent of the wind that blows across Europe blows across Scotland. However, that should not mean we put up with our waterways and nature being polluted with carbon from diesel generators and hydraulic oil.
The unelected global health agency will get new legally binding censorship powers if the treaty passes.
The World Health Organization (WHO) recently released a zero draft of its international pandemic treaty which will give the unelected global health agency new powers to “tackle” anything that it deems to be “false, misleading, misinformation or disinformation” if passed.
The WHO has been pushing the treaty since December 2021 and those drafting the treaty intend to present a final report to the World Health Assembly (WHA), the WHO’s decision-making body, in May 2024.
If adopted, the treaty will be legally binding under international law and the WHO’s 194 member states (which represent 98% of all the countries in the world) would be required to comply with the treaty’s demands to target misinformation.
The zero draft is similar to previous versions of the treaty and the provisions related to misinformation are described in Article 17 (“Strengthening pandemic and public health literacy”).
This section of the treaty calls for member states to “tackle false, misleading, misinformation or disinformation, including through promotion of international cooperation.”
5. Facebook/Instagram threatens to ban or restrict Project Veritas.
(Veritas being Latin for truth, and Zuckerberg’s company being communist narrative enforcement mechanisms, it’s almost comforting that he bans them. Makes the world view more consistent.)
Facebook and Instagram have threatened to restrict or ban Project Veritas from their platforms, both owned by Meta, after a journalist confronted a senior YouTube official about the removal of a video about Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccines.
On Friday, the nonprofit journalism organization Project Veritas published footage that appears to show one of its reporters confronting YouTube’s vice president of Global Trust and Safety, Matt Halprin.
The video shows the reporter approaching Halprin in public regarding YouTube’s removal of a video featuring a senior Pfizer official, unaware he was being recorded, discussing how the company is considering mutating the COVID-19 virus to develop new vaccines proactively.
Halprin refused to answer the reporter’s inquiries and instead told the reporter not to touch him while also threatening to call the police, before walking away.
“YouTube took down our Pfizer exposé. YouTube gave us a strike and will not let us post for a week,” said James O’Keefe, head of Project Veritas, in a video.
Facebook and Instagram warned Project Veritas that its video of Halprin violates “Community Standards.”
“We have these standards because we want everyone to feel safe, respected, and welcome,” the warning said. “If your content goes against our Community Standards again, your account may be restricted or disabled.”
This of course is the company that blocked Donald Trump from raising funds during the 2020 ‘election’ among other means of suppression of information that put a thumb on the scale. So really, they don’t mean “everyone to feel safe”. Just them.
