Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

  1. The man makes a point: when we older folk go the younger generations will have no idea of the world we enjoyed.

While we witness the destruction of freedom, we simultaneously witness the emergence of long-buried secrets into the light. Short-term suppression of information, such as the fraud that is the pandemic and its attendant mRNA injections, seems to be not much better insulated from the prying eyes of people who want to know the truth of matters. Lies are chemical fictions that require massive energy to maintain, while truth is the pure hidden element of the periodic table, occurring naturally, and precisely proportionate to irony:

  2. SCOTLAND – Expert review into mystery spike in Scots baby deaths begins

AN EXPERT review into an unusually high level of deaths among newborn babies in Scotland has begun and expects to report back in the autumn.

Healthcare Improvement Scotland (HIS) confirmed that it has appointed retired consultant neonatologist Dr Helen Mactier to chair the expert group which will investigate the possible causes behind two unexplained spikes in neonatal mortality just six months apart, in September 2021 and March 2022, when a total of 39 infants died.

Work is already underway but HIS said it is continuing to recruit some additional specialists to contribute to the expert panel, which is expected to meet monthly.

In October last year, HIS advertised for an experienced consultant working in a neonatal intensive care unit “outside of Scotland” to join the review group.

The Scottish Government commissioned the review in September last year after internal investigations by Public Health Scotland(PHS) found no definitive explanation for the increases in neonatal mortality.

Dr Helen Mactier, who recently retired after 20 years as a consultant neonatologist at the Princess Royal Maternity hospital in Glasgow, was the president of the British Association of Perinatal Medicine (BAPM) from 2019 to 2022.

She also served as a panel member on the independent investigation into East Kent Maternity Services, where repeated failings in care were blamed for dozens of deaths and injuries among mothers and babies.

A spokesman for HIS said: “At the request of Scottish Government, Healthcare Improvement Scotland is undertaking a review in relation to the significant increase in neonatal mortality across Scotland in the year 2021/22.

“The purpose of the review is to understand any contributing factors to the national increase in neonatal mortality.

“The review should assess and determine whether there are any themes, underlying causes or safety factors, from both a clinical and system perspective, and, if there are, should identify key learning points and make recommendations for improvements in the quality of care.”

He added that the review is “at an early stage and we expect publication of our report to be in autumn of this year”.

The alarm was first raised at the end of 2021, when monthly monitoring found that 21 babies had died within 28 days of birth during September, compared to the nine which would have been expected based on pre-pandemic averages.

This translated into a neonatal mortality rate of 4.9 deaths per 1,000 live births and – for the first time since monitoring began in 2017 – exceeded an upper warning threshold known as the control limit.

This triggered an automatic investigation but, just six months later, the control limit was breached for a second time when 18 newborns died in March 2022 – pushing the neonatal mortality rate to 4.6 deaths per 1000 live births.

No clear link has been found with Covid infections in either mothers or babies, or an increase in premature births – all of which increase the risk of neonatal mortality.

Chance variation is considered unlikely, but PHS suggested Covid-related staffing absences may have been a factor.

Any link to COVID VACCINES HAS BEEN RULED OUT on the basis of INTERNATIONAL EVIDENCE DEMONSTRATING THEIR SAFETY IN PREGNANCY, but PHS confirmed that it had not checked the vaccination status of any of the mothers affected.

It stressed that there was no public health basis to do, and that such an analysis “whilst being uninformative for public health decision making, had the potential to be used to harm vaccine confidence”.

Since April 2022, the neonatal mortality rate has been falling and – between May 2022 and October 2022, the most recent month for which data is available – has been consistently lower than expected when compared against the pre-pandemic averages.

    • reuters – U.S. FDA proposes shift to annual COVID vaccine shots

Jan 23 (Reuters) – The U.S. health regulator on Monday proposed one dose of the latest updated COVID-19 shot annually for healthy adults, similar to the influenza immunization campaign, as it aims to simplify the country’s COVID-vaccine strategy.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration also asked its panel of external advisers to consider the usage of two COVID vaccine shots a year for some young children, older adults and persons with compromised immunity. The regulator proposed the need for routine selection of variants for updating the vaccine, similar to the way strains for flu vaccines are changed annually, in briefing documents ahead of a meeting of its panel on Thursday.

The FDA hopes annual immunization schedules may contribute to less complicated vaccine deployment and fewer vaccine administration errors, leading to improved vaccine coverage rates. The agency’s proposal was on expected lines, following its announcement of its intention for the update last month.

The Biden administration has also been planning for a campaign of vaccine boosters every fall season.

Currently, most people in the United States need to first get two doses of the original COVID vaccine spaced at least three to four weeks apart, depending on the vaccine, followed by a booster dose a few months later.

Pfizer’s primary vaccine doses for children and people involve three shots, with the third a bivalent shot given about two months later.

If the panel votes in favor of the proposal, Pfizer Inc and Moderna Inc’s bivalent vaccines, which target both the Omicron and the original variants, would be used for all COVID vaccine doses, and not just as boosters.

Report Launch: Building the CDC the Country Needs

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has entered a moment of peril. Long heralded a national public health asset, CDC has suffered a sharp decline in popular trust and confidence, a signal of widespread concern over its performance in preventing and responding, at home and abroad, to dangerous outbreaks. The United States needs a strong, effective, and more accountable national public health agency to protect the health of all Americans and ensure the stability of the broader world.

The CSIS Commission on Strengthening America’s Health Security released Building the CDC the Country Needs, a detailed report with actionable recommendations for CDC’s performance in preventing and responding to dangerous outbreaks.

The report was developed by a bipartisan working group cochaired by J. Stephen Morrison, Senior Vice President and Director of the CSIS Global Health Policy Center, and Tom Inglesby, Director of the Johns Hopkins Center for Health Security.

    • Brazil To Encourage COVID-19 Vaccination Before Carnival

“Science returned to Brazil,” Health Surveillance Secretary Marciel said, emphasizing that her country will follow all the WHO’s epidemiological recommendations.

On Friday, President Lula da Silva’s administration announced that it will start a campaign to encourage COVID-19 vaccination due to the circulation of new strains of the coronavirus.

Health Surveillance Secretary Ethel Maciel said that the pandemic continues and “the level of vaccine coverage is quite worrying” since less than 50 percent of 210 million Brazilians have received three doses.

The expansion of coverage levels is urgent since one of the new variants was detected in November in a 54-year-old patient from the interior of the state of Sao Paulo.

The Lula administration will encourage vaccination starting next week to prevent the increase in the number of infections during Carnival, a festive season that brings millions of people to the streets at the end of February.

Over the last two months, the number of Coronavirus-related deaths and infections has increased in a country whose health system was weakened during the administration of Jair Bolsonaro . So far, Brazil has registered 36.4 million cases and 694,500 deaths.

Given that the health system has a deficit of vaccines for children under 12 years of age, the Lula administration will resume purchase negotiations with pharmaceutical companies. The COVID-19 vaccine will be included in the 2023 National Immunization Plan, which will provide the doses to citizens free of charge.

“Science returned to Brazil,” Marciel said, emphasizing that her country will follow all the epidemiological recommendations provided by the World Health Organization (WHO).

    • DEUTSCHE PRAVDA – 5 charged with treason in suspected terror plot to kidnap Germany’s health minister

Treason charges have been brought against five people who allegedly planned to overthrow the German government, the federal prosecutor’s office said Monday.

The individuals, all of whom have ties to Germany’s far-right Reichsbürger scene, as well as other neo-Nazi gangs, aimed to trigger “civil war-like conditions in Germany by means of violence” in order to topple the government, the prosecutor said.

The defendants are also accused of planning to kidnap German Health Minister Karl Lauterbach.

Lauterbach thanked investigators and Germany’s federal criminal police for the arrest. “Criminal federal police officials risk their lives for us. This is a great service,” he tweeted.

What was the alleged terror plot?

The suspects are accused of planning to attack power infrastructure to cause a nationwide blackout, and then abduct the health minister; killing his bodyguards if necessary.

The federal prosecutor’s office found that the suspects wanted to take over the state and replace it with an “authoritarian system of government based on the model of the German Empire.”

Prosecutors said the suspects had made increasingly concrete preparations and created separate military and administrative branches of their group.

According to the prosecutor’s statement, the group had accepted that the plans could involve the loss of lives.

  3. Turkish Muslims protest Quran-burning in Sweden

ISTANBUL — Outrage over a Quran-burning protest in Sweden produced a second day of protests in Turkey, reflecting tensions between the two countries.

Some 250 people gathered outside the Swedish Consulate in Istanbul, where a photo of Danish anti-Islam activist Rasmus Paludan was set on fire. Paludan burned Islam’s holy book outside the Turkish Embassy in Stockholm on Saturday, sparking protests in Istanbul and Ankara that night.

Participants in Sunday’s event carried green flags featuring the Islamic proclamation of faith and banner that said “We condemn Sweden’s state-supported Islamophobia.”

A sign on a window of the Swedish Consulate read, “We do not share that book-burning idiot’s view.”

The protests have renewed concerns about Turkey holding up Sweden and Finland’s bid to join NATO. Turkey has not yet ratified the Nordic nations’ memberships in the military alliance, saying Sweden needs to address Ankara’s security concerns.

Turkish officials slammed Sweden for allowing the Quran-burning protest but President Recep Tayyip Erdogan did not comment on it during his weekend speeches.

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson tweeted late Saturday that freedom of expression was crucial to democracy but added that “what is legal is not necessarily appropriate.”

“Burning books that are holy to many is a deeply disrespectful act. I want to express my sympathy for all Muslims who are offended by what has happened in Stockholm today,” Kristersson said.

Mustafa Demircan, one of the people protesting in Istanbul on Sunday, said the act of burning the Quran should not be considered an act protected by the right of free expression.

Protesters also gathered outside the Swedish Embassy in Ankara for a second day. In southeastern Sanliurfa province, men held the Quran high after prayers in a mosque and chanted “God is great” in videos shared online. More protests were planned for Sunday evening.

Turkey’s president says no support for Sweden’s NATO bid

ISTANBUL, Turkey (AP) — Turkey’s president said Monday Sweden shouldn’t expect support for NATO membership following weekend protests in Stockholm by an anti-Islam activist and pro-Kurdish groups.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan slammed Rasmus Paludan’s Quran-burning protest on Saturday, saying it was an insult to everyone, especially to Muslims. He also criticized Swedish authorities for allowing the demonstration to take place outside the Turkish Embassy in Stockholm.

Erdogan also criticized Sweden for pro-Kurdish protests where demonstrators waved flags of various Kurdish groups, including the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, or PKK, which has waged a decades-long insurgency against Turkey. The PKK is considered a terrorist group in Turkey, the European Union and the United States, but its symbols aren’t banned in Sweden.

“So you will let terror organizations run wild and then expect our support for getting into NATO. That’s not happening,” Erdogan said, referring to Sweden and Finland’s accession bids for the military alliance. He said if Sweden won’t show respect to Turkey or Muslims, then “they won’t see any support from us on the NATO issue.”

Turkey has been holding up the Nordic nations’ historic NATO bids.

global news – Sweden’s NATO application jeopardized over Quran-burning protest

In Turkey, there is uproar and political tension over a far-right demonstration in Sweden.

Thousands are now showing their anger after an anti-Islam politician was allowed to protest outside a Turkish embassy in Stockholm and then burned the Quran – the holy text of the Islamic faith.

And as Mackenzie Gray reports, backlash to this hateful act is now jeopardizing Sweden’s hopes of joining NATO at the eleventh hour.

The Buffalo News reported that on Saturday, January 14, Sister Johnice heard a disturbance outside after competing her hour of prayer. When she opened the front door, she noticed a ladder in front of the doorway.

To her shock, two robbers had climbed on top of the roof to steal what they thought were copper pipes.

[…]The billionaire oligarch financier, often portrayed as a humanist, promoted a hard-nosed geopolitical strategy in his 1993 piece entitled “Toward a New World Order: The Future of NATO.”

[…}In the piece, he outlines how Eastern Europeans could be used as the “manpower” in coming conflicts in an effort to reduce the number of deaths in Western countries, which Soros argues the West would not politically tolerate, unlike the east of Europe.

[…]As Soros predicted, Ukrainian society appears to be tolerating the high death toll in its current conflict with Russia. During the Vietnam War, the U.S. lost 58,220 over the course of approximately 10 years, and yet, the war saw strong opposition from the American public. Despite a far higher death toll in a far shorter period of time, Ukrainian society has seen little in terms of protests.

[…Closed societies based on nationalist principles constitute a threat to security because they need an enemy, either outside or within. But the threat is very different in character from the one NATO was constructed to confront, and a very different approach is required to combat this threat. It involves the building of democratic states and open societies and embedding them in a structure which precludes certain kinds of behavior.

Soros also writes in his piece that NATO was racing to grant membership to countries in Central and Eastern Europe before “Russia recovers.” Soros appears to see NATO as actively transgressing against Russia during a time the country was still in chaos following the fall of communism.

  9. Woke Medical Journal Says Humans Are No More Valuable Than Animals, Calls For Shift Away From Human-Centered Health Care
    By Cullen Linebarger
    Published January 23, 2023 at 12:20pm

Individuals within scientific community have taken a decidedly woke worldview for years, from encouraging obesity to discriminating against white individuals. The Lancet becomes the latest entrant into this crusade by repeating PETA talking points and declaring them science.

Breitbart reported Monday that The Lancet published a journal encouraging “ecological equity,” meaning that all life has equal value. Their proposal, “One Health,” advocates shifting the human being from the center of medical health to one where humans are interdependent with animals, plants, and the “wider environment.”

    Advertisement – story

The so-called medical journal argues that this means we must completely change our relationship with animals and proposes adopting a vegan diet as one way to accomplish this. The Lancet says without evidence this will benefit both human and animal health.

The Lancet is essentially arguing that your life has no more value than a pig. Any efforts to better your well-being must take the welfare of the pig into consideration.

Here is the full story from Breitbart:

The once-prestigious UK Lancet medical journal urges a “revolutionary shift of perspective” away from human-centered health care in favor of “ecological equity” attributing equal value to all life.

  10. Clarkson Fights Back: Goes On Offensive Against Woke Take-Over

    Authored by Toby Young via,

If you haven’t signed the Free Speech Union’s petition urging the CEO of ITV not to fire Jeremy Clarkson, please do so now.

Meanwhile, Clarkson has written a blistering attack on the woke takeover of Britain in yesterday’s Sunday Times.

    Here’s how it begins:

My son came over for a father-and-son pre-football supper the other day, and as he fussed over the Aga, making a particularly fine stir fry, we laughed about what innocuous word had been banned that day and who’d been cancelled. And then, after a pause, he said with a solemn face, “You do know there’s a war going on, don’t you?”

He wasn’t talking about Ukraine. He was talking about a full-on left-wing campaign to unstitch and burn the fabric of Britain. And the genius is that no one really knows that what they’re doing is serious. We laugh as they change the name of the Sir Francis Drake Primary School to something less slavey. We think it’s all a big joke. But it isn’t.

Think about what typically happens in a military operation and then look what the woke left has done here. It’s seized control of our television and radio stations to such an extent that last week Sophie Raworth said, on the BBC News at Six, with a straight face, “And over now to our LGBT and diversity correspondent …”

    Burning Atlanta
The fundraising apparatus and political network designed to keep the people engaged in “domestic terrorism” in Georgia out of jail is connected to the Democratic Party and its proxies.

    Pedro L. Gonzalez

Manuel Esteban Paez Teran was a 26-year-old activist who joined his friends in protesting a planned public safety training center—coined “Cop City” by critics—in Atlanta forestland. They camped out in the area to halt its construction. But they brought with them more than s’mores, sleeping bags, and Teran’s they/it pronouns.

On the morning of Jan. 18, officers attempting to clear the site of the future facility gave Teran verbal commands. He allegedly replied by shooting a Georgia State Patrol trooper and got himself killed in the ensuing exchange of fire. Police said in a statement that the projectile recovered from the trooper’s wound matched Teran’s Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 9mm handgun. His death helped spark rioting that consumed downtown Atlanta in violence, but this wasn’t the first flare-up. Last year, these leftists hurled Molotov cocktails at officers and AT&T workers and attacked firefighters. In one incident, police stood with their backs turned to a fence when a flaming spirit flew over at them.

  15. Reckless Reparations Reckoning
The lesson from the $22 trillion record of Great Society compensatory payouts is that massive infusions of federal money are more apt to ensure social disruption and dislocation than alleviate them.
    By Victor Davis Hanson

    January 22, 2023
The last time racial reparations made the major news was on the eve of September 11, 2001 attacks. The loss of 3,000 Americans, which for a time fueled a new national unity, quickly dispelled the absurdities of the reparation movement, and turned our attention toward more existential issues.

Now the idea is back in vogue again. Here are 10 reasons why the nation’s—and especially California’s—discussions of reparatory payouts are dangerous in a multiracial state, and why reparations are not viable either in an insolvent state or a bankrupt nation at large.

    1) Identity Politics Absurdities
We live in an absurd woke age of retribalization. It has witnessed Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), for mutual advantage, advertised as Harvard’s first Native-American law professor.

Fellow Montecito mansion denizens Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle and multibillionaire Oprah Winfrey swap ridiculous televised stories of their own racial victimization.

Empire” actor Jussie Smollett initially was canonized by our top elected leaders and exempted for months by Chicago legal authorities after claiming the following absurdity: two white, MAGA-hatted racists, on their apparently routine nightly racist patrols in a liberal Chicago neighborhood and equipped both with special bleach that does not freeze in subzero temperatures and an ever-ready, just-in-case noose, assaulted Jussie. They put a rope around his neck and libeled his predominately black “Empire” soap-opera show—only to be repulsed single-footedly by a courageous Smollett, while retaining in one hand his cell phone and in the other his late night Subway sandwich.

Note that in these nutty cases and thousands like them, there is the cynical assumption that current American society, and the government as well, reward claims of racial victimization. That is why a Ward Churchill or Rachel Dolezal constructed new racial identities to game the system for profit.
