  1. Apologies in advance for stating what I see as the obvious:

Since we cannot accept stupidity as an excuse to explain the actions of our so-called leaders, we must accept that these actions are intentionally meant to weaken us.

The draining of major Western precious metals warehouses has accelerated. Experts suspect the anonymous buyers are Eastern, and that these metals will never be seen again. This means that, despite not being on an official gold or silver standard since August 15, 1971, we are losing to our competitors what remains our highest form of money. It also means that in many Western countries the people are being sold-out by their own corrupted elites, who are unwilling to stop it, or worse, who are enabling it.

These metals are being purchased cheaply with fiat paper currencies of rapidly-diminishing value, then are being taken away to form the financial and economic ramparts of China, India etc.–BRICS nations– as they form a parallel commodities-based monetary system. Our Central Bank managers are guilty of epic malfeasance as guardians of the public economic trust. Even friendly nations such as Brazil and Argentina are quietly drifting from the USD system because they see the existential monetary crisis taking shape before their eyes.

The Keynesian financial “blackout” of the last 50 years has rendered the West financially illiterate. Few people understand the meaning of value in terms of the currency they use. To begin to understand the concept of value, consider the amount of human and mechanical energy required to extract useful minerals from the ground. In this regard we talk of grams or ounces per ton of rock and dirt:

To understand the value of energy, just imagine driving your car until it runs out of gas, then having to push it back to where you started. This exercise also provides a vivid reminder of the meaning of “work”. More work adds more value, which closes the circle. Historically, human slavery has been the industrial-level financialization of work.

The ability to attain precious metals with the relative ease we now enjoy is a historical blip–a chimera.

The alchemy of converting digital currencies into traditional cash is an example of how greed obscures vision:

Similar to the Dutch tulip mania where value was similarly obscured, it is all the stuff of monetary endgames::

The value of strong rope and bullets can be visualized by the settling of financial accounts in terms of choosing which method of punishment is preferred by the people after the swift trials of our corrupt masters.

    • He Set Off My BS Detector”: Elon Musk Passed On Having Sam Bankman-Fried As Investor In Twitter

While Elon Musk is certainly busy dealing with his own set of problems in the world of Tesla and Twitter, one thing he doesn’t have to worry about is being entangled with the now-defunct FTX, or its founder, Sam Bankman-Fried.

That’s because, according to Musk, Bankman-Fried set off his “BS detector” when he approached Musk about a potential investment in Twitter, according to Musk and a new Yahoo! Finance article.

The crypto tycoon turned likely fugitive on the run reached out to Musk in March of this year, the report says, through William MacAskill from FTX’s Future Fund philanthropic arm.

    • BOMBSHELL REPORT: FTX Balance Sheet Contained Investment Called “TRUMPLOSE”

FTX’s collapse is one of the biggest financial scandals in the 21st century.

Now the Financial Times has been able to obtain a balance sheet of FTX and its contents are absolutely dark.

The balance sheet revealed FTX had only “$900mn of assets it could easily sell, despite having $9bn of liabilities.”

One of the most shocking revelations is that the balance sheet listed a $7 million dollar asset called “TRUMPLOSE”.

    • EXCLUSIVE: FTX Donations to Democrats from Foreign Entities Like Ukraine Are in Violation of Executive Order 13848 Signed by President Trump and Biden
      By Joe Hoft
      Published November 15, 2022 at 11:00am

Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) donated tens of millions to the Democrats over the past few years. It’s questionable how legal this was since FTX is a Bahamas-based entity.

We reported this weekend how FTX has gone bankrupt and how it was one of the top donors to Democrats over the past few years. At least $40 million was donated to the Democrats from FTX.
What we also learned is that FTX is registered in the Bahamas. This was noted this past week when it was reported that officials in the Bahamas had questioned SBF.

This brings us to the next most important question. Was it legal for the Democrats to be receiving money from FTX since it’s housed in a foreign country?

FTX reportedly had multiple entities under its umbrella. It’s unknown why so many entities were needed. This makes the tracking of assets more challenging. Many people invested with the FTX crypto exchange and their investments or purchases of crypto maybe never occurred. Instead of buying a cryptocurrency of the individual’s desire, the money was used for other things. This is why it’s being referred to as a ponzi scheme.

If the money going to politicians was US based (i.e. from FTX US) was that even legal. See the list of companies below FTX below.

The reason the donations going to the Democrats were arguably illegal is that they conflict with Executive Order 13848. This EO was drafted under President Trump and resigned by Joe Biden.

Attorney Sidney Powell reportedly discussed this EO with the Jan 6 commission.

Right before taking a YUGE swig of Diet Dr. Pepper, Sidney Powell says President Trump was VERY interested in CISA’s findings and the terms of Executive Order 13848 (which relates to foreign interference in an election).

The original EO 13848 includes the following (emphasis added):

Although there has been no evidence of a foreign power altering the outcome or vote tabulation in any United States election, foreign powers have historically sought to exploit America’s free and open political system. In recent years, the proliferation of digital devices and internet-based communications has created significant vulnerabilities and magnified the scope and intensity of the threat of foreign interference, as illustrated in the 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment. I hereby declare a national emergency to deal with this threat.

      Accordingly, I hereby order:

  9. Gen. Flynn Warns Of An FBI Perjury Trap For Trump, ‘Like They Tried To Set Me Up’
    Tyler Durden’s Photo

With the D.C. Beltway awash in rumors that former President Trump will be indicted after the Nov. 8 midterms, the FBI may have “set a perjury trap” at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home, according to his former national security adviser, Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn.

In June, the FBI suspected Trump hid classified papers from his presidential collection that it had subpoenaed on behalf of the National Archives, which sought them after Trump left the White House. Two months later, agents raided Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, seizing more than 11,000 documents, of which fewer than 1% were marked classified.

Now a federal grand jury is investigating whether Trump and his aides conspired to conceal the documents from agents and made false statements when certifying they produced all of them.

Flynn told RealClearInvestigations that the FBI and DOJ are using semantics to target Trump.

Christina Bobb, one of Trump’s lawyers acting as the custodian of his records, certified in a sworn statement on June 3 that “any and all responsive documents” had been handed over and that none were withheld. It now appears that the statement was untrue, since many documents marked classified were still at Mar-a-Lago. Bobb, who has hired a criminal defense attorney, recently was questioned by prosecutors who reportedly want to know if Trump directed her to make the statement.

Flynn said that the parsing of the subpoena suggests trickery. He said agents and prosecutors were very clever asking for documents that bear classification markings rather than classified documents, which may have led Trump and his custodian into a “perjury trap.”

“The way they stated specifically what they were looking for — documents that have classified markings versus classified documents— it is a semantics drill that a team of smart but corrupt lawyers in DOJ would come up with,” Flynn said in an interview with RCI.

“The FBI arrives and asks very specific questions and DJT’s lawyers think everything is fine when they leave,” he added. “But then they go back to a sequestered grand jury and the entrapment drill begins.”

Prosecutors used similar hedging words to describe the documents seized in the Mar-a-Lago raid. In an Aug. 25 court filing, Jay Bratt, the Justice official running the investigation, said that “the government executed a search warrant at the premises owned by the former president and seized documents marked as classified.” Again, he did not say they found classified information.

On June 3, Bratt and a handful of FBI agents visited Mar-a-Lago and picked up a batch of documents from Trump and his lawyers, while allegedly thanking them for their cooperation. They advised only that they add a more secure lock to the storage facility.

Flynn said it might as well have been a “sting operation.” If they thought additional documents remained there, he explained, they could have issued another subpoena for them. Instead, they secretly monitored Trump’s security camera footage for months before returning on Aug. 8 with an army of more than 30 armed agents who rummaged through every bedroom and closet at Trump’s home — including those of his wife and son.

Flynn said the FBI and Justice Department, who prosecuted him for lying to FBI agents, are using similar tactics against Trump. The charges against Flynn were later dropped, but the FBI and DOJ succeeded in pushing him out of the White House. “They are trying to set up the former president at Mar-a-Lago like they tried to set me up,” Flynn told RCI.

Flynn is not alone in his suspicions. Some FBI vets point to other signs their old agency may have played dirty pool at Mar-a-Lago. Former assistant FBI director Chris Swecker pointed to unredacted portions of the FBI affidavit supporting the search warrant which suggest that investigators may have set Trump up for failure. It turns out that Trump, by keeping the records at his estate, may actually have been complying with recent Justice Department directives not to move them.

“What stood out to me in the affidavit was how he was ordered to keep the records on the premises until further notice and then was hit with a search warrant because he kept the records on the premises,” Swecker told RCI.

The affidavit reveals that on June 8, Bratt wrote to Trump’s lawyer demanding that his papers remain in storage at Mar-a-Lago. “We ask that the room at Mar-a-Lago where the documents had been stored be secured and that all of the boxes that were moved from the White House to Mar-a-Lago (along with any other items in that room) be preserved in that room in their current condition until further notice,” the official requested.

But then several weeks later, the FBI asked a magistrate judge in West Palm Beach for permission to search Trump’s property because there was probable cause to believe that “presidential records remain at the premises,” according to the Aug. 5 affidavit.

What’s more, the affidavit complained that Trump’s locked basement storage facility and his office were “not currently authorized locations for the storage of classified information.” Added the Washington-based special FBI agent who swore out the warrant: “I do not believe that any spaces within the premises have been authorized for the storage of classified information at least since the end of FPOTUS’s [Former President of the United States’] presidential administration on Jan. 20, 2021.”

But Flynn and others say the FBI likely believed this to be the case because of the little-known fact that President Biden broke with longstanding tradition when he took office and ordered the intelligence community to stop giving intelligence briefings to his predecessor; that effectively decertified the special secure room known as a “SCIF” — Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility — which Trump had set up at Mar-a-Lago to receive daily intelligence briefings and classified reports when he vacationed there as president. All former presidents receive such briefings, which are conducted in such secure rooms th eymaintain in their home offices. But Biden argued that because Trump was “erratic,” he posed a potential national security threat. Biden therefore ordered he be cut off from receiving the same reports provided Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama. As a result, DOJ appears to now be punishing Trump for allegedly storing and mishandling sensitive government documents in a room that was once authorized for such storage but only became unauthorized when Biden cancelled Trump’s classified briefings. That’s not Trump’s fault, Flynn argued. He said it was Biden’s actions that set Trump up for prosecution.

    Biden Involved
Despite repeated and unqualified White House denials that politics played any role in this drama, Biden was involved in the Mar-a-Lago fray. In April, correspondence reveals, the Justice Department asked the president to request that the National Archives provide the FBI access to boxes of documents Trump had earlier turned over to the White House-controlled agency. The next month, the FBI subpoenaed Trump for additional records. Nonetheless, Biden has insisted he and the White House were completely in the dark about the Mar-a-Lago raid and investigation.

Swecker doubts the government has a prosecutable case, judging from the affidavit and other court filings, which make clear the raid developed from a civil dispute between Trump and the National Archives, which says it is seeking missing presidential records.

He said he thinks Attorney General Merrick Garland, who personally approved the unprecedented action against a former president, was trying to publicly humiliate Trump ahead of the November midterm election, which features Trump-supporting Republicans in key races.

“I really think this case is un-prosecutable and was more of a thumb in Trump’s eye by Attorney General Garland,” Swecker said. It has been reported that Trump will announce his plans to run again in 2024 after Tuesday’s midterm elections.

Others, however, are convinced there is sufficient evidence to indict Trump on obstruction charges.

“Not only did Trump, through his team, falsely represent that all remaining classified documents were in the envelope they’d turned over, [but] prosecutors stress that the search ‘cast serious doubt on the claim in the certification that there had been a ‘diligent search’ for records responsive to the grand jury subpoena,’ ” said former federal prosecutor Andrew McCarthy, who defended Trump throughout the FBI’s and DOJ’s discredited Russiagate investigation.

Therefore, “I believe Trump is likely to be charged with obstruction of justice and causing false statements to be made to investigators,” he added.

Under the relevant federal statutes, however, prosecutors must prove that Trump “knowingly” concealed documents with the intent to obstruct the Mar-a-Lago investigation. Which is to say they have to produce evidence that the former president intentionally withheld subpoenaed records and that it wasn’t just an oversight.

So far, unsealed court filings do not indicate they have evidence of knowing concealment by Trump. Prosecutors have been careful to say in their filings that documents were “likely” concealed and that efforts were “likely” taken to obstruct the investigation, indicating they still lack solid evidence. And Trump is not mentioned as a target in any of the filings.

“It is not clear from the filing if the FBI has evidence of intentional acts of concealment as opposed to negligence,” George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley said.

However, Bloomberg News recently reported that prosecutors “believe there is sufficient evidence” to charge Trump with obstruction, according to “people familiar with the matter” cited by Bloomberg. The outlet said the team of attorneys handling the case “has not yet made a formal recommendation” to Garland, who would make the final decision to bring charges in the politically radioactive case. The stakes couldn’t be higher. If the attorney general were to charge a former president, he and his reputation would be on the hook for the highest-profile criminal case in American history.

In a sign Garland might be serious about indicting Trump, he recently assigned David Raskin — one of the department’s most experienced national security prosecutors — to the Trump investigation. Raskin has successfully prosecuted federal employees whohave kept classified documents unlawfully.

Prosecutors have questioned several aides, including the Trump lawyer who signed the certification letter and a Mar-a-Lago valet who allegedly moved documents from a storage room. Next, they plan to grill Trump’s representative to the National Archives, Kash Patel, about how Trump, his aides and his lawyers dealt with requests from the government to return the records. Patel, who declined comment, reportedly has agreed to testify before the grand jury in exchange for immunity from criminal prosecution. Jurors are deliberating in heavily Democratic D.C., increasing the odds of indictment.
As for the alleged false statements, legal analysts say the Trump team left wiggle room in the sworn certification when it claimed a “diligent” search was conducted. They note that “diligent” is a legally ambiguous term open to interpretation. And the government itself demonstrated that searching for the subpoenaed documents was like looking for needles in a haystack. It took some 35 agents searching Trump’s sprawling estate for several hours to locate just 100 with classified markings out of 11,000 documents seized, which suggests Trump’s custodian could have reasonably overlooked them.

Also, Trump’s presidential papers were “intermixed” in file boxes with newspaper and magazine articles, photos, various printouts, and other items making them difficult to identify. The National Archives said 15 boxes retrieved several months earlier from Mar-a-Lago contained “newspapers, magazines, print news articles, photos, miscellaneous print-outs, notes, presidential correspondence, personal and post-presidential records” — and most of the boxes included classified records that “were unfoldered, intermixed withother records, and otherwise improperly identified.”

Much speculation has been made of 46 “empty folders with classified banners” found in the FBI raid. In one recent court filing, investigators speculated that classified “materials may once have been stored in these folders,” suggesting Trump or his aides removed subpoenaed documents from the folders and secreted them elsewhere.

But legal analysts point out that it could also mean that Trump’s team previously turned over the contents of the folders to the Archives — or to FBI agents in June. Or it could mean the classified contents were mixed in with other files or loosely stored in file boxes with other documents, given that the Archives noted that it found classified records “unfoldered” in the 15 boxes Trump transferred to the Archives early this year. Or it could simply mean there was never anything in them.

Prosecutors have also raised suspicions Trump’s lawyers were trying to hide something when they allegedly cordoned investigators off from some boxes kept in a basement storage room during their June 3 visit.

Although agents were permitted to visit the storage room, “the former president’s counsel explicitly prohibited government personnel from opening or looking inside any of the boxes that remained in the storage room, giving no opportunity for the government to confirm that no documents with classification markings remained,” Bratt said in a court filing. A Democrat, Bratt has donated exclusively to fellow Democrats, as well as the DNC, according to FEC records.

Trump’s legal team has told the court that DOJ “significantly mischaracterized” the June meeting with Bobb and another lawyer, but did not elaborate.

    History of Animus
Whatever the truth of what happened at Mar-a-Lago, it is clear there is a history of animus between federal law enforcement and Trump and his aides.

As one of the FBI’s and DOJ’s original Trump-era targets, Flynn is understandably suspicious that they may be engaging in similar skulduggery now, possibly setting Trump up in the Mar-a-Lago imbroglio.

It appeared to many that the FBI broke normal protocols and essentially set a perjury trap for Flynn in early 2017, when it sent agents to the White House to question Trump’s newly appointed national security adviser over his December 2016 calls with Russia’s U.S. ambassador during the presidential transition. In those conversations, which then-FBI Director James Comey privately described as “legit,” indicating there was no real basis for investigation, Flynn urged Russia not to engage in an escalating tit-for-tat with the outgoing Obama administration, which had just issued sanctions against Moscow for allegedly interfering in the 2016 election.

  18. Strikes put Ukraine in darkness; missiles cross into Poland

KYIV, Ukraine (AP) — Russia pounded Ukraine’s energy facilities Tuesday with its biggest barrage of missiles yet, striking targets across the country and causing widespread blackouts, and a U.S. official said missiles crossed into NATO member Poland, where two people were killed.

A defiant Ukrainian President Volodymr Zelenskyy shook his fist and declared: “We will survive everything.”

Polish government spokesman Piotr Mueller did not immediately confirm the information from a senior U.S. intelligence official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the situation. But Mueller said top leaders were holding an emergency meeting due to a “crisis situation.”

Polish media reported that two people died Tuesday afternoon after a projectile struck an area where grain was drying in Przewodów, a Polish village near the border with Ukraine.

It was in the days before the Cuban missile crisis. Mr. Cashin was a young trader. One day a rumor mushroomed that the Russians had launched their missiles. World War III was starting. Mr. Cashin ran across the street to find the best trader he knew – who was in a bar having a drink. Mr. Cashin ran in breathlessly, hardly able to talk.

      TUESDAY, NOV 15, 2022 – 01:00 PM
Update(1500ET): Russia has issued its first statements in the wake of conflicting reporting concerning the suspected missile attack on Polish territory, just across the border with Ukraine. Russia is calling the reports a “deliberate provocation” and is denying that its forces have aimed any missiles near the Ukraine-Poland border, per Interfax news.

The Russian Defense Ministry issued a statement saying it has not taken part in “strikes against targets near the Ukrainian-Polish border” using “Russian weapons” – as is being alleged by Polish sources. The Russian statement further said it’s Warsaw’s attempt to escalate the situation. The Pentagon has meanwhile said it can’t corroborate the reports at this early stage but is gathering more information. A Pentagon spokesman vowed the US stands ready to “defend every inch of NATO territory.”

According to Polish radio broadcaster Radio Zet, local reports have said what hit Przewowo is most likely the remains of a rocket shot down by Ukraine’s armed forces. But there are conflicting and many unconfirmed claims still circulating. The US State Dept. said, “We are working with the Polish government to collect information and assess what happened.” It also called the reports

The Gateway Pundit previously reported two Russian missiles hit the Polish town of Przewodów located near the border with Ukraine on Tuesday, killing two Poles according to reports. Poland is a NATO ally, and a staunch supporter of Ukraine as its neighbor defends itself from Russia’s invasion.

The AP reports a U.S. official said the missiles were Russian, “WARSAW, Poland (AP) — A senior U.S. intelligence official says Russian missiles crossed into NATO member Poland, killing two people.”

Will this escalate? “Poland decides,” reports Newsy’s Sasha Ingber, “Confirming AP reporting that Russian missiles crossed into Poland, killing two people. A Polish official tells me, “Poland decides.”

Initial local reports, “Unofficial: two stray rockets fell in the town of Przewodów in the Lublin province near the border with Ukraine. They hit grain dryers. Two people were killed. The police, prosecutor’s office and the army are on the spot.”

Polish President Andrzej Duda is seeking to calm the public, and has issued a statement saying there’s as yet no definite evidence of who fired missile that fell in Poland.

But he did say that a state of heightened readiness has been introduced for all Polish services, including the police, firefighters, border guards, according to breaking international reports.

Earlier Warsaw announced a “Russia made” missile landed on the border village of Przewodów, and Poland’s Foreign Ministry said it has summoned the Russian ambassador for a meeting.

However, it should be noted that Ukraine’s anti-air defense arsenal has always been “Russia made” – especially its S-300 systems.

Poland’s statement is interesting in that it did not say “Russia launched” missile, leaving the question of the missile’s origins open.

      • It’s Sensible To Propose That Ukrainians In Poland Swear Loyalty To Their Host State

RT reported that “The Confederation of the Polish Crown party has proposed legislation that would require Ukrainian citizens living in Poland to proclaim ‘loyalty’ to Warsaw and condemn historical crimes against Poles committed by Ukrainian nationalists.”

This is a sensible proposal, albeit one that’s unlikely to be embraced by the ruling “Law & Justice” (PiS per its Polish abbreviation) party…

PiS is obsessed with the Ukrainization of Poland, which refers to unilaterally conceding on the socio-cultural rights of their country’s indigenous population for geopolitical reasons related to Warsaw’s interests in that neighboring former Soviet Republic.

In practice, the ruling party seeks to strengthen the de facto Polish-Ukrainian Confederation that formed in late May after President Duda’s trip to Kiev and the signing of several related documents that very strongly implied such joint intentions.

The overarching objective is to consolidate Poland’s “sphere of influence” that’s expected to be built upon that basis in parallel with hyping up Germany’s threat to Central Europe…

While Warsaw still officially maintains that Ukraine’s World War II-era fascist collaborators did indeed carry out genocide against the Polish people living in the erstwhile Second Republic’s eastern frontier, they don’t seriously push this point.

That’s extremely concerning to all sincere Polish patriots since the massive influx of Ukrainians into their society risks resulting in it becoming infiltrated by genocide sympathizers who regard those war criminals as so-called “heroes” and the “founding fathers” of their post-communist state…

Absent a “regime reboot” in Kiev that results in reversing the glorification of World War II-era genocidal fascist collaborators, that former Soviet Republic will continue regarding such figures as its “founding fathers” and their dastardly deeds as “necessary acts in pursuit of Ukrainian independence”.

I see Putin doing a deal with Poland, having them administer western Ukraine. They want it, Russia most definitely does not. Poles now constitute a significant proportion of Ukraine’s foreign legion. They’d surely accomplish Putin’s denazification objective.

But Poland has to be careful, screen those who would be their allies.

  20. Italy’s deputy health minister under fire for questioning Covid vaccines

Opposition leaders called for health undersecretary Marcello Gemmato to resign on Tuesday after the official said he was not “for or against” vaccines.

Gemmato, a trained pharmacist and member of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s far-right Brothers of Italy party, made the remark during an appearance on the political talkshow ReStart on Rai 2 on Monday evening.

In a widely-shared clip, the official criticises the previous government’s approach to the Covid pandemic, claiming that for a large part of the crisis Italy had the highest death rate and third highest ‘lethality’ rate (the proportion of Covid patients who died of the disease).

When journalist Aldo Cazzullo interjects to ask whether the toll would have been higher without vaccines, Gemmato responds: “that’s what you say,” and claimed: “We do not have the reverse burden of proof.”

The undersecretary goes on to say that he won’t “fall into the trap of taking a side for or against vaccines”.

After Gemmato’s comments, the president of Italy’s National Federation of Medical Guilds, Filippo Anelli, stressed that official figures showed the Italian vaccination campaign had already prevented some 150,000 deaths, slashing the country’s potential death toll by almost half.

Vaccines also prevented eight million cases of Covid-19, over 500,000 hospitalisations, and more than 55,000 admissions to intensive care, according to a report from Italy’s national health institute (ISS) in April 2021.

Gemmato’s comments provoked calls for him to step down, including from the head of the centre-left Democratic Party, Enrico Letta.

“A health undersecretary who doesn’t take his distance from no-vaxxers is certainly in the wrong job” wrote the leader of the centrist party Action, Carlo Calenda, on Twitter.

Infectious disease expert Matteo Bassetti of Genoa’s San Martino clinic also expressed shock.

“How is it possible to say that there is no scientific proof that vaccines have helped save the lives of millions of people? You just have to read the scientific literature,” Bassetti tweeted.

In response to the backlash, Gemmato on Tuesday put out a statement saying he believes “vaccines are precious weapons against Covid” and claiming that his words were taken out of context and misused against him.

The Brothers of Italy party was harshly critical of the previous government’s approach to handling the Covid crisis, accusing the former government of using the pandemic as an excuse to “limit freedom” through its use of the ‘green pass’, a proof of vaccination required to access public spaces.

But since coming into power, Meloni appears to have significantly softened her stance.

Her appointee for health minister, Orazio Schillaci, is a medical doctor who formed part of the team advising the Draghi administration on its handling of the pandemic.

Schillaci, a former dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery at Rome’s Tor Vergata University, has described the former government’s green pass scheme as an “indispensable tool for guaranteeing safety in university classrooms”.

Speaking at a session of the G20 on Tuesday, Meloni referenced the role of vaccines in bringing an end to the Covid pandemic.

“Thanks to the extraordinary work of health personnel, vaccines, prevention, and the accountability of citizens, life has gradually returned to normal,’ the prime minister said in a speech.

  21. the hill –White House asks Congress for $37.7B in new Ukraine aid

The White House on Tuesday asked Congress to approve $37.7 billion towards additional aid for Ukraine amid Russia’s invasion, a request that comes ahead of both a government funding deadline and the expected flipping of the House to Republican control.

The Biden administration is requesting that Congress authorize $21.7 billion in defense aid to continue providing equipment to Ukraine and replenish Department of Defense stocks. It is also asking for $14.5 billion for direct budget support to Ukraine, critical wartime investments, security assistance and to strengthen global food security and provide humanitarian assistance.

Additionally, $626 million would go to providing nuclear security support for Ukraine and to modernizing the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to reduce domestic energy costs and ensure sustainable access to energy resources. And $900 million would go to help with health care and support services to Ukrainians.

The new funding would be “to ensure that Ukraine has the funding, weapons, and support it needs to defend itself,” an administration official told reporters when previewing the request on Tuesday.

It would be on top of the $18 billion the U.S. has provided in military assistance to Ukraine since Russia’s full-scale invasion in February.

The official said that three quarters of the funding to Ukraine that Congress has provided has been already dispersed, and that it was always intended to only last through the end of the year.

Congress, meanwhile, has until Dec. 16 to agree on new funding levels to avert a U.S. government shutdown.

“Staying ahead of COVID-19. Supporting Ukraine’s fight to defend its sovereignty. Helping Americans who have borne the brunt of natural disasters. The American people rightly expect their leaders to come together and deliver on these priorities, and I urge the Congress to address them as part of a comprehensive, bipartisan agreement in the weeks ahead,” Office of Management and Budget Director Shalanda Young wrote in a letter to Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Tuesday.

The budget request comes as Russia launched missile attacks on Ukrainian towns and cities following Moscow’s retreat from the city of Kherson, a major blow to the Kremlin’s war effort.

Some Republican lawmakers have warned they will scrutinize or even oppose aid to Ukraine with the expected GOP majority in the House starting next year.

The Pentagon said last week that it will fund sending tanks to Ukraine for the first time as part of the latest $400 million military assistance package.

In addition to more funding to aid Ukraine, the White House is asking Congress to provide $9.25 billion in funding for COVID-19 response efforts. The White House also plans to request additional funding for disaster relief but is working over details and to refine estimates, officials said.

CNBC – White House requests $37.7 billion in new Ukraine funding, $10 billion for Covid relief

… and an additional $10 billion for pandemic relief.

[…]The formal funding request also includes $9.25 billion for Covid-19 relief and $750 million to address other infectious diseases.

The White House is requesting $2.5 billion for Covid-19 vaccine access and replenishing the Strategic National Stockpile, $5 billion for further vaccine development, $750 million for long Covid research and $1 billion to international aid combatting the virus.

Administration officials argue the funding is necessary to prevent a potential surge in cases this winter.

“Failure to provide more funding would lead to needless infections and deaths across the nation and around the world,” Young warned.

This brings us to last week’s U.N. vote – 98 nations in favor, 17 opposed and 52 abstentions – for referral to the International Court of Justice.

Among those voting in favor was Ukraine.

This is, of course, far from the first time that Ukraine has sided with the mob of haters at the U.N. attacking Israel. One would think that, at a time when it is seeking help from Israel, Ukraine might at least abstain on votes aimed at isolating and destroying the Jewish state. But such is the hypocrisy and arrogance of the Zelenskyy government that it had no compunction about both voting against Israel and simultaneously trying to strong-arm it into handing over its most valued and scarce weapons, integral to its self-defense, like Iron Dome batteries.

This says a lot about how off base many of those who speak as if Ukraine were a Jeffersonian democracy and a bastion of decency are while trying to persuade American taxpayers to go on funding a war, which has no end in sight, to the tune of tens, if not hundreds, of billions of dollars.

    • Ukraine backs antisemitism at the UN while pressuring Israel for arms

It was just another day at the United Nations. But, instead of its usual business being simply more evidence of the way the virus of anti-Semitism has injected itself into just about everything that within its purview, it recently supplied us with an additional insight. A vote in one of the General Assembly’s committees provided proof that the idealization of the embattled government of Ukraine is somewhat disconnected from reality….

For the last several months, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has been spending a disproportionate amount of time and effort trying to pressure Israel into sending his country arms to help it repel a Russian invasion.

Israel has condemned the illegal attack, sent Ukraine large amounts of humanitarian aid and taken in refugees. It has also shared intelligence with its military about the drones that Iran has sold to Russia. But it refuses to supply Zelenskyy with weapons for a number of good reasons.

Moscow, which has forces in Syria, has allowed neighboring Israel to act against Iranian and other terrorist forces there with impunity. Furthermore, there is still a large Jewish population in Russia that is now, in effect, hostage to the authoritarian whims of President Vladimir Putin.

But Ukraine and its many noisy supporters throughout the world have dismissed Israel’s justified concerns about being dragged into a war in which it has no direct interest, and treated it as if it were uniquely cynical for its refusal to do Kyiv’s bidding.

Plus Iron Dome tech would inevitably find its way to Iran to be reverse-engineered. Like HIMARs.

Still, Ukraine’s pleas for Israeli help would be more reasonable if Kyiv were actually a friend of the Jewish state. Let’s ignore his lies about Ukrainians standing with Jews during the Holocaust, as opposed to what they actually did, which was to aid the Nazis in their slaughter.

Israel abstains in UN call for Russia to make reparations to Ukraine

Ukraine’s envoy blasts Israeli ‘summons’ as ties deteriorate

Ukraine’s envoy to Israel on Tuesday condemned the country’s restrictions on the entry of Ukrainians into the country during a meeting at the Foreign Ministry. The officials from both countries met amid rising tensions between the countries surrounding the war in Europe.

Kyiv’s Ambassador Yevgen Korniychuk responded to the Foreign Ministry saying he had been “summoned” with the angry retort that “They can say whatever they want.”

In a Facebook post after the meeting with senior Israeli diplomats, Korniychuk said he “forwarded the indignation of the Ukrainian side regarding the entrenched practice of unjustifiably denying Ukrainian citizens entry to the territory of Israel.”

The envoy added that Kyiv considers the obstacles to entry “an unfriendly step.”

Senior Ukrainian officials have been vocal about Interior Minister Ayelet Shaked’s order for a cap on the number of Ukrainian refugees who were allowed to enter the country, a ruling overturned in July by the High Court. But Ukrainians are still being turned away at the airport in Israel.

“When the conflict started, many European countries canceled all travel restrictions for Ukrainian refugees and helped them, etcetera. Israel did the opposite. Israel breached the agreement and imposed visa restrictions on our entry into the country,” Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov said in October.

Under existing regulations, Ukrainians do not need a visa for a visit of up to three months in Israel.

Korniychuk also expressed disappointment with Israel’s abstention during Monday’s UN vote on Russian reparations payments to Ukraine.…

The Ukrainian diplomat said he would express Kyiv’s disappointment “at the position of Israel not to give us any defensive weapons.”

Ukraine has repeatedly requested military aid and equipment from Israel to fight off Russia’s assault on the country since late February. While providing humanitarian assistance to Ukraine, Israel has maintained a strict policy of not providing defense aid, including systems that could help it intercept Russian missile and drone attacks.

Korniychuk indicated that Kyiv would not change its voting stance at the UN so long as Jerusalem withholds weapons sales.

“Our position on the Palestinian resolutions has not been changed since 1949,” said Korniychuk. “We expect that Israel should change its position on selling Ukraine defensive weapons, but Israel decided to play.”

“Why should we change if they are not willing to negotiate?”

Caroline Glick wondered way back in March:
“What stands behind Ukraine’s obsession with attacking Israel?

      A thread:
      1. We mustn’t take Ukraine’s haranguing of Israel at face value…

      2. Israel is the most threatened democracy on earth. And the great power currently devouring Ukraine is perched on Israel’s northern border in Syria. Russia stands victorious in Syria after working with Israel’s worst enemies – Iran and its Syrian and Lebanese proxies

      3. to commit genocide in Syria, killing more than half a million people.
Ukraine itself has a long record of animosity towards Israel. It has voted in favor of every anti-Israel resolution at every UN body. It has neo-Nazis in its armed forces…

      4. It has a long history, storied history of massacring its Jews with a bloodlust unmatched even by the Nazis.
So what stands behind the Ukrainian leadership’s constant harping at Israel?
      Simple, the Biden administration…

      5. The Biden administration effectively controls the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry. It is setting Israel up as a pro-Russian pariah, demonized in the world of nations ahead of the conclusion of its capitulation deal with Iran…

      6. Zelensky, Kuleba and their obnoxious ambassador in Israel are attacking Israel because Biden and his pro-Iranian team are telling them to attack Israel. And we should care about their attacks as much as we should care about pork belly futures.

Old Joe Biden, the ostensible president of the United States, on Wednesday held one of his Potemkin press conferences before the gathering of sycophants and propagandists known as the White House press corps. When a reporter said that Trump’s movement was “still very strong,” Biden laughed derisively and said, “Oh yeah?” He added, “Well, we just have to demonstrate that he will not take power by — if we — if he does run. I’m making sure he, under legitimate efforts of our Constitution, does not become the next President again.” How can he make sure of that? He didn’t say, and of course the sycophants didn’t ask. But Biden’s remark was in keeping with his fascist agenda. Fascist? Yes.

Back on March 23, 1933, German Chancellor Adolf Hitler spoke before the Reichstag, urging it to pass an Enabling Act that would give him dictatorial powers. He said that this was urgently needed in light of an imminent threat to the nation. Hitler claimed that in 1918, Marxist organizations had seized power in Germany, leading to “a time of boundless misfortune for Germany, that is to say the working German Volk [people].” But he assured the Reichstag deputies that “the German Volk itself has increasingly turned away from concepts, parties, and associations which, in its eyes, are responsible for these conditions.” Does this sound familiar? It should. These are the same rhetorical notes Old Joe Biden sounded during his ominous Thursday night speech branding Donald Trump and his supporters as enemies of the state.

Probably more out of historical illiteracy than historical awareness, Biden’s handlers chose September 1, 2022 for Biden’s profoundly disturbing and un-American speech that echoed Hitler’s Reichstag speech. It was the 83rd anniversary of Hitler’s invasion of Poland when Old Joe stood before an ominous red and black backdrop and recalled Hitler’s demonization of his opposition, declaring that “Donald Trump and the MAGA Republicans represent an extremism that threatens the very foundations of our republic.”

What will the next step be? Will Biden and his henchmen try to force Republicans to join up with the uniparty pseudo-Republicans who allow the Democrats to implement their full hard-Left agenda, Mitt Romney and Liz Cheney and Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski and Adam Kinzinger and all the rest, and to denounce and repudiate Trump and any idea of making America great again? If so, what will happen to those who do not? Will they’ll be prevented from taking any Congressional seats to which they’re elected, and even arrested as enemies of “our democracy”?

That’s what Hitler did with the Communists he blamed for Germany’s woes. In his Enabling Act speech, Hitler accused the Communists of “pillaging, arson, raids on the railway, assassination attempts, and so on–all these things are morally sanctioned by Communist theory.” He also declared that the German people were already in the process of defeating these great enemies. He spoke of “the necessity of thoroughly rejecting the ideas, organizations, and men in which one gradually and rightly began to recognize the underlying causes of our decay.” He added: “Filled with the conviction that the causes of this collapse lie in internal damage to the body of our Volk, the Government of the National Revolution aims to eliminate the afflictions from our völkisch life which would, in future, continue to foil any real recovery.”

Biden sounded the same notes, declaring that the nation was bouncing back despite the best efforts of these internal enemies to destroy it: “American manufacturing has come alive across the Heartland, and the future will be made in America — no matter what the white supremacists and the extremists say,” as if America-First patriots, whom Biden was busy smearing as white supremacists and extremists, were against American manufacturing. “I made a bet on you, the American people,” Biden continued, “and that bet is paying off. Proving that from darkness — the darkness of Charlottesville, of COVID, of gun violence, of insurrection — we can see the light. Light is now visible.”

These resonances are real and ominous. For the first time ever in over two hundred years of American history, a president has declared that his primary political opposition stands outside the bounds of acceptable political discourse. The logical next step is the one Hitler took: he blamed one of his strongest adversaries, the Communist Party, for the Reichstag Fire, and outlawed it accordingly. With the Communist deputies barred from being present, the Reichstag passed the Enabling Act, and Germany’s unfortunate fourteen-year experiment with a representative republic was over.

But that couldn’t possibly happen here, could it? Biden just said he was making sure Trump wouldn’t become president again, but surely that’s just talk, right? It would be as outlandish and frankly inconceivable as the prospect of a president of the United States standing in front of a couple of Marines and a strongly Naziesque backdrop and denouncing his legitimate political opposition as enemies of the state. Simply could not happen! Not in “our democracy”!

  23. 41% of climate scientists don’t believe in catastrophic ‘climate change,’ major new poll finds
Recent polling undermines the much promoted argument that scientists are unified in their declaration of humans causing climate change.

(Daily Sceptic) – For years, the promoters of the spurious “settled science” narrative have claimed that there is a 97-99% consensus among scientists about humans causing climate change. The claim is meaningless since it fails to address differences in the extent of human involvement and how harmful the warming is thought to be.

A recently published survey of top-level climate scientists found that just over five in 10 attributed the human contribution to recent climate change to be 75% or above. Only around four in 10 scientists believed that the frequency and severity of extreme weather events had increased significantly in recent years

The above graph from the poll is the only realistic way to gauge scientific support for anthropogenic climate change. It is clear that there is not 99% support for humans causing all or most climate change. Of course, it is not a surprise that there is considerable support for the unproven anthropogenic hypothesis (92% believed that a majority of recent warming was due to humans), since sceptical science in this field does not generally attract money, prestige and coveted academic posts.

Emeritus Professor Richard Lindzen recently called the current climate narrative “absurd.” Perhaps, he added, it was the trillions of dollars diverted to green projects and the relentless propaganda from grant-dependent academics and agenda-driven journalists that had persuaded people it is not absurd.

There is a vast amount of money pouring into academia designed to support the hypothesis of anthropogenic climate change. The hope is to shore up the invented 99% ‘consensus’ backed up by helpful, unquestioning media commentators.

  24. “Always Risky to Attack Members of Congress”: Reporter Warns Musk Not to Run Afoul of Democratic Members

In a stark warning from a reporter, Politico’s Sam Stein weighed into a dispute over the verification of a fake account for Senator Ed Markey (D., Mass.), who has demanded answers from Elon Musk. Liberals are using such verification problems to attack Musk for threatening to restore free speech protections to Twitter. When Musk mocked Markey’s letter, Stein ominously warned that it is “[a]lways risky to attack members of congress. Especially risky with Demsassured of Senate power. Curious play by Musk here. He has many interests before Congress.” For many of us, it was a chilling message coming from a reporter that you would be wise not to risk the ire of powerful politicians.

Markey himself made no effort to hide the opportunistic use of the verification error to pressure Musk not to reduce Twitter’s massive censorship program. He declared

14 races are still outstanding so the final count for the 118th Congress is still unclear.

The Republicans took control of the House after Kevin Kiley was declared the winner in California’s 3rd Congressional District.

  27. One of many heart-warming anecdotes in this article by Rabbi Prof. Dov Fischer:

One Saturday night, around midnight, while [on the bus] reading Norman Cohn’s “The Pursuit of the Millennium” for my class in Contemporary Civilization, a BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) fellow lunged towards me and swiped my yarmulka off my head. I was so absorbed in my reading that I had not noticed him or his two BIPOC thug friends.

I reacted instantly without thinking. My sister Debbie had knitted that kippah for me, an investment of hours of her time, and this was a direct battery on my body. It was not personal; my attacker could not possibly have known me. But it was an attack on “The Jews.” He had gone for my yarmulka, not my yellow highlighter.

The train soon stopped, and the laughing trio were getting off, ever so pleased with themselves. I got up, dropped my book, and karate-kicked the guy who swiped my kippah. I aimed for his male organ and did not miss. One generation of him was enough.

He dropped to the floor instantly, dropped my yarmulka, and started moaning. I kicked him two more times, basically off the train, and his two friends ran off as well to tend to him and to get away from the Jew who had gone berserk while highlighting a book. The train doors closed. I retrieved the kippah.

Non-Orthodox assimilated American Jews and the U.S. State Department barely grasp what it means to be a hated Jew. But encountering that random hatred is part of the Orthodox Jewish experience. We usually are as White as any Caucasian, but we are distinguishable by our head covering or our tzitzit or both.

With respiratory illnesses spreading, and more children getting sick, there are questions about whether school boards in Canada should require students to wear masks in class.
