What Really Means To Trust The Science

Since the start of the pandemic, we have heard the phrase: “trust the science” repeated like a mantra over and over again. This term started to become some sort of politically correct answer to all the questions we are not comfortable delving into.

    • Pfizer and BioNTech Submit Application to U.S. FDA for Emergency Use Authorization of Omicron BA.4/BA.5-Adapted Bivalent Vaccine Booster in Children 5 Through 11 Years of Age

NEW YORK & MAINZ, Germany–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Pfizer Inc. (NYSE: PFE) and BioNTech SE (Nasdaq: BNTX) today announced they have completed a submission to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) requesting Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) of a 10-µg booster dose of the companies’ Omicron BA.4/BA.5-adapted bivalent COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 5 through 11 years of age.

The request for Emergency Use Authorization of the Omicron BA.4/BA.5-adapted bivalent vaccine in this age group is supported by safety and immunogenicity data from the companies’ bivalent Omicron BA.1-adapted vaccine, non-clinical and manufacturing data from the companies’ 10-µg bivalent Omicron BA.4/BA.5-adapted vaccine, and pre-clinical data from the companies’ Omicron BA.4/BA.5-adapted vaccine in their decision.

An application to extend the Omicron BA.4/BA.5-adapted bivalent vaccine marketing authorization to include children ages 5 through 11 years will be submitted to the European Medicines Agency (EMA) in the coming days.

The companies have also initiated a Phase 1/2/3 study NCT05543616 (C4591048) to evaluate the safety, tolerability, and immunogenicity of different doses and dosing regimens of the companies’ Omicron BA.4/BA.5-adapted bivalent COVID-19 vaccine in children 6 months through 11 years of age.

This pediatric study is consistent with regulatory guidance and follows a previous Phase 1/2/3 trial involving these age groups that demonstrated the original Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine is well-tolerated and offers a high level of protection against COVID-19, measured at a time when the Omicron BA.2 strain was highly prevalent.

The Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine, which is based on BioNTech’s proprietary mRNA technology, was developed by both BioNTech and Pfizer. BioNTech is the Marketing Authorization Holder for BNT162b2 (COMIRNATY®) in the United States, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Canada and other countries, and the holder of emergency use authorizations or equivalents in the United States (jointly with Pfizer) and other countries.
Submissions to pursue regulatory approvals in those countries where emergency use authorizations or equivalent were initially granted are planned.

JUST IN – Trace amounts of COVID vaccine mRNAs were detected in the breast milk of some lactating women.

Detection of Messenger RNA COVID-19 Vaccines in Human Breast Milk

Vaccination is a cornerstone in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the initial messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccine clinical trials excluded several vulnerable groups, including young children and lactating individuals.

The US Food and Drug Administration deferred the decision to authorize COVID-19 mRNA vaccines for infants younger than 6 months until more data are available because of the potential priming of the children’s immune responses that may alter their immunity.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends offering the COVID-19 mRNA vaccines to breastfeeding individuals, although the possible passage of vaccine mRNAs in breast milk resulting in infants’ exposure at younger than 6 months was not investigated.

This study investigated whether the COVID-19 vaccine mRNA can be detected in the expressed breast milk (EBM) of lactating individuals receiving the vaccination within 6 months after delivery.

    • reuters – U.S. Congress negotiators set $12 bln for new Ukraine aid

Negotiators to a stop-gap spending bill in the U.S. Congress have agreed to include about $12 billion in new aid to Ukraine in response to a request from the Biden administration, a source familiar with the talks said on Monday.

The source, who asked not to be identified, said the measure will also include resettlement funding for Afghan refugees.

Earlier this month, U.S. President Joe Biden asked Congress to provide $11.7 billion in new emergency military and economic aid for Ukraine.

Congress is facing a midnight Friday deadline to pass the spending bill that also would temporarily fund a wide range of U.S. government programs.

US allocates almost a half billion dollars to Ukraine law enforcement, criminal justice partners

Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Monday announced the United States will commit $457.5 million to support Ukrainian law enforcement and criminal justice agencies, including funding to investigate Russian atrocities.

The new allocation brings the total to more than $645 million since mid-December to support groups like Ukraine’s national police and border guard as Russia’s invasion enters its eighth month.

The United States has also provided more than $15 billion in separate security assistance to support the Ukraine’s military resistance against Russian forces.

“Ukrainian law enforcement officers remain resilient, motivated and determined to carry out their wide-ranging law enforcement missions and support for innocent civilians in towns and cities facing continuous Russian shelling,” Blinken said in a statement on Monday.

Blinken said a portion of the new allocation will continue U.S. support for Ukrainian efforts to investigate and prosecute atrocities perpetrated by Russian forces.

Ukrainian forces have liberated thousands of square miles previously occupied by Russia in recent weeks, also bringing forward evidence of mass graves and torture in cities like Izyum.

Officials similarly found mass burial sites in Bucha, a town near the capital city, Kyiv, after Russia fled the region earlier this year.

President Biden at the time called the Bucha killings a war crime and said Russian President Vladimir Putin should face trial.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in a speech last week before the United Nations General Assembly called for a special tribunal to punish Russia.

Concerns are also growing in the West after Putin in an address to the nation last week again threatened the use of nuclear weapons, claiming it is “not a bluff” as he also called up 300,000 reservists to bolster Russian forces after they faced steep losses from a Ukrainian counteroffensive.

U.S. officials, including White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan, vowed to “respond decisively” if Putin follows through on his threats and promised “catastrophic consequences” for Russia.

An overnight drone strike hours later near Odesa, a key city located on Ukraine’s southern coast, hit a military installation and detonated ammunition, sparking a massive fire and explosion. The port city has seen a series of drone attacks in recent days.

Schumer expects billions more in aid to Ukraine

U.S. Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer expects billions in additional aid to Ukraine as it continues to fight off Russia’s invasion.

In New Paltz over the weekend, Schumer called Russian leader Vladimir Putin “evil” and said he expects Congress to provide additional funding for Ukraine’s defense.

“They are making inroads in the east; they are making inroads in the south. They need our help; they don’t want us to fight there. All they want is the kind of weaponry to have them stay equal to the Russians in weaponry, and then the valiance of their soldiers will prevail,” he told Mid-Hudson News.

The senator expects Congress to approve another $12 billion in aid for Ukraine as the nation continues to fight off Russia’s attacks.

    • BREITBART – Dr. Sebastian Gorka: Ukraine Aid Is ‘Complete Scam to Keep Money in the Pockets’ of Chuck Schumer, Defense Contractors

Dr. Sebastian Gorka, host of the America First radio show and the Gorka Reality Check on Newsmax, said on Thursday’s edition of SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Daily with host Alex Marlow that billions of dollars from the federal government ostensibly slated as “aid” for Ukraine will amount to “grift” for Democrat Party donors and military contractors.

“This is grift for Chuck Schumer and his defense contractor buddies in the Beltway,” Dr. Gorka said of Sen. Chuck Schumer’s (D-NY) move to add $12 billion to the ongoing flow of billions to Ukraine.

He continued, “Most of this money is being spent here for the people who are making corporate donations to the DNC. When you read the actual bill, actually, there is a line … in the bill that says an undisclosed amount of this aid will be used by will be will be spent for the CIA. What? You’re not going to put a dollar figure on the amount that the CIA is getting? But I thought you’re helping out Ukraine.”

Dr. Gorka added, “This is all a scam. This is an utter, complete scam to keep money in the pockets of the buddies of people like Chuck Schumer. That’s all it is. That’s what you need to understand about Ukrainian aid.”

Punchbowl News reported over Schumer’s proposal, if enacted, would increase total federal government spending “on the war in Ukraine to more than $60 billion, with lots more expected.”

    • MSNBC – Far-right leader Giorgia Meloni is set to become Italian prime minister, and historian and professor Ruth Ben Ghiat joins Morning Joe to discuss Meloni’s background and why Meloni is not simply a ‘conservative’.»

      • the Atlantic –The Return of Fascism in Italy

        By Ruth Ben-Ghiat

The election of the first woman prime minister in a country always represents a break with the past, and that is certainly a good thing,” Hillary Clinton said to an Italian journalist at the Venice International Film Festival earlier this month. She was speaking of Giorgia Meloni, a member of the Chamber of Deputies, who could make history if the Brothers of Italy party does as well as expected in Sunday’s elections.

That would be one sort of break with the past. But Meloni would also represent continuity with Italy’s darkest episode: the interwar dictatorship of Benito Mussolini. As Clinton would surely concede, this is not such a good thing.

If Meloni comes to power at the end of this month, it will be as head of a coalition whose other members—Matteo Salvini’s League and Silvio Berlusconi’s Forza Italia—were each once the main force on Italy’s populist right. Brothers of Italy, which was polling at 23 percent earlier this month, has overtaken these more established parties and would represent the bloc’s largest component.

Brothers of Italy, which Meloni has led since 2014, has an underlying and sinister familiarity. The party formed a decade ago to carry forth the spirit and legacy of the extreme right in Italy, which dates back to the Italian Social Movement (MSI), the party that formed in place of the National Fascist Party, which was banned after World War II. Now, just weeks before the 100th anniversary of the March on Rome—the October 1922 event that put Mussolini in power—Italy may have a former MSI activist for its prime minister and a government rooted in fascism. In the words of Ignazio La Russa, Meloni’s predecessor as the head of the Brothers of Italy: “We are all heirs of Il Duce.”

Meloni in many ways sounds more like other modern national-conservative politicians such as Hungary’s Viktor Orbán and America’s MAGA Republicans than Il Duce. “There’s a leftist ideology, so-called globalist,” she told The Washington Post recently, “that aims to consider as an enemy everything that defined you—everything that has shaped your identity and your civilization.”

Meloni’s enemies list is familiar: “LGBT lobbies” that are out to harm women and the family by destroying “gender identity”; George Soros, an “international speculator,” she has said, who finances global “mass immigration” that threatens a Great Replacement of white, native-born Italians. Meloni shows affinity for authoritarian strongmen: Like Marine Le Pen, until recently the leader of the National Rally party in France, Meloni has expressed support for Russian President Vladimir Putin—although she has muted that enthusiasm since his invasion of Ukraine.

Meloni is comparable to Le Pen in other ways. Both are examples of what political scientists call “genderwashing,” when female politicians adopt a nonthreatening image to blunt the force of their extremism. Meloni’s signature look involves flowing outfits in pastel shades. To uninformed foreigners, her ascent could look like female empowerment; she poses as a defender of women, even as her party has rolled back women’s rights. In localities it governs, Brothers of Italy has made abortion services—the procedure has been legal in Italy since 1978—harder to access. Municipal authorities in Verona, where the party has shared power with Salvini’s League, declared the city “pro-life.”

Meloni and her French counterpart diverge, however, over their respective movements’ extremist history. Le Pen pushed her father out of the leadership of the National Front (National Rally’s forerunner) because of his overt racism and Holocaust denialism. Meloni, though, has never fully disavowed her connection to Italy’s neofascist tradition even as she claims that her party is merely “conservative” and that fascism is a thing of the past.

The tricolor flame in the Brothers of Italy logo contradicts that claim: It celebrates her party’s connection with its fascist past by reviving the MSI’s emblem. The Brothers of Italy also perpetuates its forebear’s values. In particular, the natalist obsession of Il Duce’s 20-year rule, with its “Battle for Births,” has survived in the Brothers of Italy’s present-day concern about boosting the birth rate, its proposal to link social-welfare assistance to mothers and those engaged in child care, and its attempts to limit reproductive rights.

Italy never underwent a process equivalent to Germany’s de-Nazification after World War II. At the start of the Cold War, the Allies wanted to block Western Europe’s largest Communist party from power. They took a minimalist approach to purges of fascists and other punitive measures that could cause social unrest in Italy. They also looked the other way when Giorgio Almirante and other fascists who had served Il Duce founded the MSI in 1946. By the 1960s, the MSI had become the fourth-largest party, yet it remained largely on the sidelines of Italian politics because of the electoral strength of the left.

The political will of the MSI to return the far right to power never waned. The collapse of communism in the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe created a new space for the right to flourish. In came the billionaire Berlusconi and his new party, Forza Italia. Berlusconi’s short-lived center-right government of 1994 also included the Northern League (the original name of Salvini’s party) and brought the MSI’s neofascists into a governing coalition for the first time in Europe since 1945.

Their party was rebranded as the National Alliance, yet the MSI’s tricolor flame remained. The National Alliance’s leader, Gianfranco Fini, wore business suits and discouraged fascist salutes among the party faithful, but he hailed Il Duce as “the greatest statesman of the 20th century.” Meloni had joined the MSI’s youth wing in 1992, as a teenager. Four years later, as a young activist electioneering for her party, she echoed Fini’s praise for the dictator. “I think Mussolini was a good politician,” she told a TV interviewer. “Everything he did, he did for Italy.”

The current popularity of Meloni’s party in part indicates the weakness of the Italian center-left, which has struggled to package its ideas in ways that connect with voters. Above all, it signifies an acceleration of Italy’s democratic backsliding. In many respects, Meloni’s current coalition is an updated version of the governments Berlusconi went on to form during the 2000s—which, over time, took on more and more of his neofascist partner’s politics. In 2009, the process was formalized in a merger of Forza Italia and the National Alliance to form a new party, People of Freedom. Berlusconi’s coalitions demonized immigrants and detained them, and stoked anti-communist fears (even though the Italian Communist Party had ceased to exist).

Throughout, Berlusconi played on nostalgia for fascism’s promise of law and order even as he whitewashed its violence. “Mussolini never killed anyone,” he told Britain’s Spectator magazine in 2003; “he sent people into confinement to have vacations.” The Fascist prisons on islands such as Ponza, where torture was practiced, were no holiday resorts. His statement also denied the Fascists’ mass killings in Italy and its colonies, including Libya, and ignored their participation in the Holocaust.

Meloni served as minister of youth in Berlusconi’s last government (2008–11), which proved a laboratory for policies she has made her own. In 2008, one of Berlusconi’s ministers claimed that high immigrant birth rates, together with Italy’s aging population and sluggish demographic growth, would cause Italians to disappear “in two or three generations.” Such fear-mongering finds an audience because of Italy’s historically low birth rates, yet it also foments racist attitudes about who should be having babies.

This nationalist preoccupation echoes Mussolini’s warnings. “Cradles are empty and cemeteries are expanding,” Il Duce declared in 1927. “The entire white race, the Western race, could be submerged by other races of color that multiply with a rhythm unknown to our own.” Meloni’s twist on this theme is “ethnic substitution.” Since 2017, she has tweeted repeatedly that Italian identity is being deliberately erased by globalists such as Soros and European Union officials, who have conspired to unleash “uncontrolled mass immigration.” The paranoid style in Italian politics translates into xenophobic proposals to deny citizenship to children born in Italy to foreign parents and to cut foreigners’ access to welfare benefits.

The People of Freedom merger entailed a loss of autonomy for the neofascist tradition. The breakup of Berlusconi’s coalition in 2011, when the euro-zone crisis forced his resignation, created an opportunity for its far-right partner to make a fresh start. The Brothers of Italy formed the following year.

As it has grown, Meloni has walked a double line, trading in far-right conspiracy theories at times, while claiming to be a traditional conservative at others. The approach has proved ominously successful. Ignazio La Russa is now the vice president of the Italian Senate; and last year, Mussolini’s granddaughter Rachele, who has been a Brothers of Italy politician since 2016, was reelected to Rome’s municipal council with more votes than any other candidate.

What can we expect if the first female-led far-right government comes into being after next week’s election? Meloni seems unlikely to tone down her extremism or change her alignment with illiberal parties in Europe, such as Hungary’s Fidesz. After all, pursuing hard-line anti-immigrant and anti-LGBTQ policies in the name of defending white Christian civilization has worked well for them. Like Orbán, Meloni has made common cause with U.S. Republicans, attending the Conservative Political Action Conference and the National Prayer Breakfast.

The political résumés of her coalition partners hardly inspire optimism that any government Meloni led would respect the rule of law. Berlusconi is a convicted criminal (on counts of tax fraud and bribery), and in 2018—not long before Salvini became minister of the interior—the League leader called for a “mass cleansing” of immigrants. A scenario in which a Meloni-led government’s rollback of civil rights might put Italy on a path to conflict with the European Union is not far-fetched. That is the situation with Hungary, which a recent European Parliament resolution said can “no longer be considered a full democracy.” Orbán’s government uses such clashes for its populist culture-warring even as it continues to take billions of euros in EU funding.

The Brothers of Italy could also try to revisit a constitutional reform that it first proposed in 2018 but was rejected by Parliament. The measure would make the president elected directly rather than by an electoral college. On its face, a head of state chosen by popular vote appears more democratic, but other things are at play here. Italy’s electoral college was introduced by the 1948 constitution, which enshrined antifascist protections against the future possibility of government takeover by a charismatic demagogue. Ostensibly, Italy’s political system is also parliamentary, which makes the prime minister accountable as the government’s chief executive; the presidency is supposed to be a figurehead role, at a remove from day-to-day partisanship. But the Brothers of Italy’s advocacy of “presidentialism,” as the idea of a more robust head of state with a popular mandate is known in Italy, has naturally put the country’s center-left parties on edge.

In her interview in Venice, Hillary Clinton also remarked on how right-wing parties can sometimes appear better at promoting women. Women like Meloni “are protected by patriarchy,” she said, “because they are often the first to support the fundamental pillars of male power and privilege.” Meloni’s party slogan—“God, Fatherland, Family”—celebrates those very pillars of power. And it came from Mussolini’s dictatorship.

    • FOX NEWS – U.S. media erupts over Italy’s first female prime minister with Mussolini comparisons: ‘Return of fascism’

Giorgia Meloni’s right-wing Brothers of Italy won Italy’s snap election

Italy is set to have its first-ever female prime minister in Giorgia Meloni, but it’s not a moment of happiness for American media outlets that normally celebrate glass ceiling breakthroughs.

Meloni, leader of the right-wing Brothers of Italy political party, appeared on track to win Italy’s election Sunday, and Rai state broadcaster said Meloni’s Brothers of Italy in alliance with two right-wing parties appeared headed to take as much as 45% of the vote in both chambers of Parliament.

But Meloni’s triumph was overshadowed in American press reports by labels comparing her to fascist dictator Benito Mussolini, who led Italy into ruin in World War II because of his alliance with Nazi Germany. The press also criticized her socially conservative views on LGBT issues, criticism of the European Union and her coalition’s generally anti-establishment views. Her party’s win is part of a broader sweep of right-wing success and gains in Europe in recent years, in nations such as Sweden, France, Hungary and Poland.

A CNN piece with six bylines trumpeted, “Giorgia Meloni claims victory to become Italy’s most far-right prime minister since Mussolini.”

The Associated Press published an explainer, “How a party of neo-fascist roots won big in Italy” following Meloni’s triumph. Last week, with polls showing likely success for her party, an Atlantic article declared, “The Return of Fascism in Italy.” It quoted Hillary Clinton noting the significance of Italy installing a prime minister who was a woman for the first time.

“Meloni would also represent continuity with Italy’s darkest episode: the interwar dictatorship of Benito Mussolini. As Clinton would surely concede, this is not such a good thing,” Ruth Ben-Ghiat wrote.

“Italy turned a page of European history on Sunday by electing a hard-right coalition led by Giorgia Meloni, whose long record of bashing the European Union, international bankers and migrants has sown concern about the nation’s reliability in the Western alliance,” the New York Times reported.

Variety (“Giorgia Meloni Poised to Win Italy’s Election, Becoming Most Far-Right Prime Minister Since Benito Mussolini”), NBC News (“Far-right leader Giorgia Meloni set to become Italian prime minister”), Politico (“Italy on track to elect most right-wing government since Mussolini”) and the Washington Post (“Italy election results set up first far-right government since Mussolini”) hit the same vein.

“The archconservative of Italian politics, Meloni entered politics at age 15 in 1992, joining the neo-fascist Social Movement, a group with pronounced sympathy for Benito Mussolini, the country’s dictator from 1925 to 1945. Fratelli d’Italia’s party imagery evokes Italy’s fascist past, but Meloni has rejected the associations, framing her proposed conservative coalition as a nationalist project that would recover power from Brussels,” it reported.

Politico cautioned she should be taken seriously and not dismissed as a carnival sideshow, or a “mere Italian Trump.”

“Her combination of nationalist identity politics and transatlantic solidarity makes her a hit with American conservatives and makes her harder to isolate or dismiss than a mere Italian Trump,” Politico’s Ryan Heath wrote.

The Mussolini talking point was prevalent throughout the media and on television as well. “CBS Mornings” saw the “hallmarks of Italian fascism” in her use of the slogan “God, fatherland and family,” and broadcasters on CNN, NBC, PBS and ABC expressed concern over her party’s roots in “neo-fascism” and the “most far-right government in that country since Mussolini.”

“Italy is revered for its history, but not all of that history is beautiful, and many fear that one particularly ugly chapter could soon repeat itself,” CBS correspondent Chris Livesay said over the weekend.

There wasn’t alarmist talk everywhere. Italian journalist Mattia Ferraresi, penning a guest essay for the New York Times, noted Meloni’s party “fell short of the two-thirds majority in Parliament that would have allowed it to modify the Constitution without recourse to a popular vote.”

“Her platform — militantly anti-migrant, socially reactionary and steeped in a culture of clientelism and tribalism — is unmistakably nativist and radical,” she wrote. “All this, of course, is problematic. But not all problems lead to autocracy.”

The press’ coverage of Meloni raised some eyebrows among media observers. The New York Post’s Jon Levine noted a fawning headline over the sister of North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un at the 2018 Winter Olympics, juxtaposed with Europe viewing Meloni with “trepidation.””

Grabien’s Tom Elliott tweeted, “Memo to my friends in the media covering Italy’s elections: Italian fascism — and especially Mussolini — were not ‘right wing,’ but rather another statist/collectivist ideology that was worshiped among left-wing intellectuals of the day.”

  4. sky news australia – ‘Ordinary voters’ pushing back against ‘woke agenda’ of European Union

Spiked Online Editor Brandan O’Neill says there are “real attempts” by the media to paint Italian politician Giorgia Meloni as a “modern-day fascist”.

“This is not about people wanting the far right to come back into power,” he told Sky News host Andrew Bolt.

“This is about ordinary voters wanting to push back against the anti-borders, woke agenda of the European Union in particular.

“And to reclaim some of those things that we used to think were good – like national sovereignty, democratic rights and the right for a nation to determine the future of itself.”

Within months after the Russian invasion of Ukraine, some in the US media began to question, “Where is Edward Snowden? Whistleblower Silent Since Russia Invaded Ukraine” – as one April Newsweek headline read.

The Ukraine offensive had clearly put the NSA whistleblower in a deeply awkward position, and thus he went relatively silent on Twitter.

The Russian government had provided him asylum since he fled there from Hong Kong in June of 2013 – as he was a “wanted” man for exposing illegal mass domestic spying by the NSA and US intelligence.

On Monday, Russian state media is out with an explosive headline and new development regarding Snowden’s fate: “Putin signs decree granting Snowden Russian citizenship,” according to state-run RIA Novosti. TASS too is reporting that Putin has given Edward Snowden Russian citizenship.

[…]”Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has also confirmed that Russian citizenship was granted to Snowden at the latter’s request.”

  9. Here’s How Democrats’ Permitting Bill Could Help Nationalize The Power Grid

Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia’s permitting reform bill could allow federal agencies to mandate the construction of proposed green energy infrastructure, giving the government an unprecedented level of control over the power grid.

The proposed bill, dubbed the Energy Independence and Security Act, will authorize the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to direct utilities to build long-distance transmission lines if they have been previously proposed by a state or business.

The process, which will help transfer electricity produced by wind turbines and solar panels, can be expedited if the Energy Secretary determines the project to be in the “national interest.”

“The Manchin–Schumer bill would give unelected regulators the authority to compel utilities to build high-voltage transmission lines to connect wind and solar facilities hundreds of miles from urban centers, use eminent domain to condemn rights of way, and then pass the costs on to consumers,” Myron Ebell, Director of the Competitive Enterprise Institute’s Center for Energy and Environment, told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

JUST IN – German federal authorities on pressure drops of Nord Stream pipelines: “Our imagination no longer yields a scenario that is not a targeted attack.”

However, due to the timing, the three pipelines affected and the sever pressure losses in Nord Stream 1, which also indicate a large leak, the worst is expected

    Everything speaks against a coincidence

    – Such a suspected attack has to be carried out with special forces, for example, navy divers, or a submarine, according to the German government’s assessment.

Following the pressure drop in Nord Stream 2, a pressure drop has now also been recorded in both lines of Nord Stream 1, the operator says.

    • Mirror – Nord Stream pipelines supplying gas from Russia ‘attacked’ as pressure plunges

A sudden drop in pressure on the Nord Stream pipelines has been due to a leak after it is believed they have been attacked, a German economy official reportedly said

Gas pipelines connecting Russia to the rest of Europe appear to have been sabotaged after suffering a sudden drop in pressure, a German economy official reportedly said.

The now defunct Russian-owned Nord Stream 2 suffered a gas leak and it has now been followed by a drop of pressure on Nord Stream 1, with German officials reportedly believing that the pipelines have been attacked.

Supply has not been impacted as there was no gas being sent through the pipelines.

The Nord Stream pipelines have been one of the flashpoints in an escalating energy war between Europe and Moscow since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February that has pummelled major Western economies and sent gas prices soaring.

The German government had been in contact with the Danish authorities and said it was working with local law enforcement to find out what caused pressure in the pipeline to plummet suddenly.

And a a German economy official said: “We can’t imagine a scenario that isn’t a targeted attack,” reported the publication Tagesspiegel.

They added: “Everything speaks against a coincidence.”

On Monday evening, the operator of the Nord Stream 1 pipeline, which ran at reduced capacity since mid-June before stopping supplies altogether in August, disclosed a pressure drop on both lines of the gas pipeline.

“The reasons are being investigated,” Nord Stream AG said on its website, without disclosing further information.

The German network regulator president, Klaus Mueller, said on Twitter the pressure drop in both pipelines “underscores the German network regulator’s assessment that the situation is tense.”

The regulator said it was currently not known what had caused the pressure drop, adding the event had no impact on security of supply in Germany and that the country’s gas storage levels were around 91%.

Danish maritime authorities had issued a navigation warning and established a zone around the Nord Stream 2 pipeline “as it is dangerous for ship traffic”, it added.

Nord Stream 2’s operator said pressure in the pipeline, which had contained some gas sealed inside despite never becoming operational, dropped from 105 to 7 bars.

The pipeline, which was intended to double the volume of gas flowing from St. Petersburg under the Baltic Sea to Germany, had just been completed and filled with 300 million cubic metres of gas when Germany cancelled it days before the invasion.

European countries have resisted Russian calls to allow the Nord Stream 2 pipeline to operate and accused Moscow of using energy as a weapon. Russia denies doing so and blames the West for gas shortages.

Russia has cut off gas supplies to several countries and also halted flows through the Nord Stream 1 pipeline, blaming Western sanctions for hindering operations.

zero hedge – Pressure Mysteriously Plunges in Nord Stream 1, 2

[…]Danish authorities said the leak occurred in the exclusive economic zone southeast of Bornholm island.

Danish Maritime Authority announced all vessels must avoid the area:

“Mariners are advised not to navigate within a five nautical miles area of the mentioned position.”

    • Russian gas burning live stream shut down

Twitch blocks a channel streaming a gas stove burning on full blast, around the clock

A Russian live streamer had his Twitch channel blocked without explanation on Wednesday after he launched a round-the-clock broadcast of a burning gas stove. The feed was accompanied by Russian music in an apparent attempt to troll the users from countries where gas prices have skyrocketed in recent months.

The first stream was launched on September 17 by a user named russiangas1 and showed a kitchen where four gas burners were running on full blast for hours on end. A thermometer could be seen in front of the stove showing audiences how hot it was in the room and a clock in the background showed that the stream was not on a loop.

Russiangas1 added a caption to the video reading: “From Russia with Love!” and stated that he pays just €1.44 ($1.43) a month for all the gas he is burning. He also put up a message encouraging everyone to be kinder to each other and shared a link for donations to buy a new gas stove.

At the time of writing, the russiangas1 channel is inaccessible on Twitch, and users are instead greeted with a message reading: “This channel is currently unavailable due to a violation of Twitch’s Community Guidelines or Terms of Service.”

It is unclear what terms were violated by the stream, but the channel managed to draw a lot of attention while it was online and has even inspired several copycat streams. One channel, russiangas2, is similarly running a gas stove around the clock while another channel, russianhotwater, is endlessly filling up a tub with hot water.

Gas prices in Europe have surged since Moscow launched its military operation in Ukraine in late February. After Western nations imposed sanctions on Moscow and its energy supplies, gas flows from Russia to Europe were reduced to a fraction of their usual volumes. The issue was exacerbated after the complete shutdown of the Nord Stream 1 pipeline last month, caused by technical issues related to sanctions, according to Russia.

Moscow supplied about 40% of the European Union’s gas before the conflict in Ukraine. EU imports from the sanctioned country are now below 9%, according to Brussels.

Soaring gas prices coupled with the closure of Nord Stream 1 have prompted European governments to implement emergency measures to ensure they have enough energy to survive the winter.

Vaccination is a cornerstone in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the initial messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccine clinical trials excluded several vulnerable groups, including young children and lactating individuals.1 The US Food and Drug Administration deferred the decision to authorize COVID-19 mRNA vaccines for infants younger than 6 months until more data are available because of the potential priming of the children’s immune responses that may alter their immunity.2 The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends offering the COVID-19 mRNA vaccines to breastfeeding individuals,3 although the possible passage of vaccine mRNAs in breast milk resulting in infants’ exposure at younger than 6 months was not investigated. This study investigated whether the COVID-19 vaccine mRNA can be detected in the expressed breast milk (EBM) of lactating individuals receiving the vaccination within 6 months after delivery.

  15. ‘National Security Nightmare’: GOP Rep Says Hunter Biden Had ‘Eric Swalwell Situation’
    Posted On September 26, 2022
Republican Rep. James Comer of Kentucky called new revelations about Hunter Biden a “national security nightmare” during a Monday evening Fox News appearance.

“Have you ever wanted to see a spy movie? You don’t even have to go to the theaters. Go to Washington, D.C., where Chinese spies just bait and hook gullible people in power. Sometimes all it takes is a honey trap. We saw it with Eric Swalwell who got caught sleeping with Fang Fang, the spy who stole his heart,” Fox News host Jesse Watters said in introducing Comer, the ranking Republican on the House Oversight Committee. “Swalwell wasn’t the only person to have a Fang Fang in D.C. Turns out Hunter Biden may have dabbled with a Chinese spy, too. Her name is JiaQi Bao.”

  16. FBI Whistleblower: The Enemy Within
    Turning Point USA – September 26, 2022

In this exclusive interview, Turning Point USA sits down with former FBI Special Agent, John Guandolo. This crucial conversation sheds light on the undiscussed network of jihadists and communists that have worked together to undermine America at its root for decades. From 9/11, to the Las Vegas shooting, to January 6, the Mar-a-Lago raid, Ray Epps, and the NSA – John tells truths that American intelligence agencies have long sought to deprive every American citizen of.

For years, Americans have failed to realize that our greatest enemy has not been an ocean away. Our adversaries are HERE on American soil – present within our institutions – and advising those who are sworn to represent us throughout the highest levels of our federal government. The most important battle being waged today is taking place WITHIN our intelligence agencies. The tyranny running rampant throughout the federal government cannot persist against the truth, which makes this a message they DON’T want you to hear.
