“Climate change and biodiversity loss represent a borderless crisis, the solutions to which have been argued about and postponed for far too long,” Charles said. “Ladies and gentlemen, we are doing it for the pandemic, so if you don’t mind me saying so, we must also do it for the planet.”
Development campaigners said on Friday that G7 leaders will jeopardize the chance of success at a landmark global climate change summit later this year if they fail to honour past aid promises this weekend during the three-day summit.
Presidents and prime ministers from the United States, Japan, Germany, France, Italy, Canada and hosts Britain kicked off a three-day summit in southwestern England on Friday with progress on how to slow global warming at the top of the agenda.
