Biden’s Dangerous New Ukraine Endgame: No Endgame

In a dramatic series of shifts this week, U.S. President Joe Biden and his NATO allies have escalated their policy of helping to defend Ukraine against Russian aggression into a policy of undermining the power and influence of Russia itself.

In so doing, some observers fear, they are leaving Russian President Vladimir Putin little choice but to surrender or double down militarily, raising the possibility of widening his war beyond Ukraine…

That followed an equally clear declaration this week from Raytheon shill U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, who after a meeting in Kyiv with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the U.S. objective is now to curtail Russia’s power over the long term so it does not have the “capability to reproduce” its military assault on Ukraine.…”

The shift may have been what prompted Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov to declare afterward that Washington and the West had entered a “proxy” war with Russia, risking another world war that, Lavrov warned, could go nuclear…

“It’s one thing to pursue a policy of weakening Putin, quite another to say it out loud. We have to find a way for Putin to achieve a political solution, so perhaps it is not wise to state this,” said one senior European diplomat, speaking on condition of anonymity…

    Ya think…?

Under a Kremlin policy known as “escalating to de-escalate”[*] – threatening to go nuclear if the West tries to stop him – Putin has year by year reintroduced nuclear weapons into his conventional war calculations.

During his two decades in power, he has authorized the construction of nuclear-powered cruise missiles, transoceanic nuclear-armed torpedoes, hypersonic glide vehicles, and more low-yield nuclear weapons on the European continent…

Matters could get even dicier if a newly emboldened West and NATO expand their reach beyond Europe, Central Asia, and the Middle East to the Indo-Pacific, as British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss suggested in a speech this week…

That in turn raises the prospect for a drawn-out global cold war with not only Russia but China as well. And it is one that could easily turn hot, […] with the United States and its allies faced off against an alliance of “a resource-rich Russia partnered with a technologically and economically powerful China.”

    …….
[*]Russian Military Academy 101: “correlation of forces” and “escalating to de-escalate”.
Russia won’t have favorable correlation of forces against Nato.

So classical strategy will lean in to “escalating to de-escalate”.
    ……..Nukes……..
Tactical, “precision” nukes, for starters. See how it goes. You don’t arm wrestle with a martial arts blackbelt.

    • Poland’s chomping at the bit, triggered by the *Biden* clique, disciples of Zbigniew Brzezi?ski. An unhinged, communist Russophobe. American lives would be lost for a “good cause”: the obliteration of Russia.

Anyway, we had to be replaced as hegemon. Global governance über alles.

We’re watching the “serpent’s eggs unhatched”, as Russians might say.

The last hawk: Zbigniew Brzezinski (1928-2017)

There are a few Americans – though to be fair not so many outside Hollywood and pop culture – whose names are familiar to every Russian. Every Soviet citizen knew the name Zbigniew Brzezinski from childhood, from the 1970s when Soviet TV gave us daily updates on this enemy of Détente, the “rabid Russophobe” and anti-Soviet politician responsible for America ceasing to understand the Soviet Union once again.

For Russians, Brzezinski remained the embodiment of the America that didn’t, and doesn’t want to understand Russia and which still sees its role in the world in terms of containing and undermining Russian influence.

Frequent references were made to Brzezinski’s Polish origins, which in the context of Poland’s centuries-old grievances towards Russia offered some explanation, if not justification, for his position.

  2. Yup all the Bosnians were victims too

Negotiation times were before the tanks appeared on the borders of Ukraine

But the psychopath zelensky narcissist that he is now is responsible for
The thousands dead and the destruction of cities and infrastructure

Life in Ukraine and Russia was not much different before

Neither democratic, both run bypass oligarchs and both very corrupt

Zelensky is no hero to me
Rather the perpetrator of this heinous disaster

And the ‘rub’ is Noem Chomsky, the leftist leftist socialist, whose influence in
Western culture and academia is profound, (and who’s books I read cover to cover all) is now aligned with Donald Trump who is the only light along withDesantis in the takedown of the USA…

    Comic tragedy

Biden puts me in mind of a film, They shoot horses don’t they……….

Who he refers to respectfully as a Statesman……
