Reader’s Links for September 6, 2021

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

    • Thank you Maria! What an excellent summary this is with source links, and all.

Some treat people worse than they would treat their dog. But so much is justified in the service of the greater good.

Allah said kill the infidel in the grocery store, and so Mahmud grabbed a knife to oblige. In his mind the greater good of Islam was served.

The True Believer doctor, at some strange point, stops reading the journals. Contrary information no longer needs to apply. She is convinced of the vaxx’s efficacy so she ramps it up. She volunteers at vaxx centers around town as much as possible. She injects thousands of people. She gives them their Informed Consent by telling them they may get a sore arm and a headache. She is on a mission. She injects pregnant women without hesitation, even though it is impossible for her to know with certainty the long-term effects of what she is doing. It is just a chance we must take, she says. It is the only way to end this thing, she tells them. If the law permitted she would inject newborns. It does not seem to occur to her that she already has, but indirectly.

She gets an idea. Maybe she can set up a mini-clinic at a local grocery store. Somewhere between the lettuce and the cheese, perhaps.

Medical infidels were a fact of life, she thought. If only they understood the threat they posed to the collective.

Italy will decide by the end of September whether Covid-19 vaccines will become mandatory for all people aged 12 and over, according to a minister in Mario Draghi’s coalition.
“If we will not have reached a vaccination level between 80% and 90% we will pass a law to impose the Covid-19 vaccine to all people against it,” Public Administration Minister Renato Brunetta said Sunday in an interview at the Ambrosetti Forum in Cernobbio, Italy. “We will decide by the end of the month.”

  2. Thank you Maria! What an excellent summary this is with source links, and all.

    A narrative:

Much is justified in the service of the greater good.

Allah said kill the infidel in the grocery store, and so Mahmud grabs a knife to oblige. In his mind the greater good of Islam is served.

The True Believer doctor, at some strange point, stops reading the journals, or else becomes very selective.

Maybe it was her intuition, maybe the times. Maybe it was her empathy and political sentiments. But contrary information no longer needed to apply. She was convinced of the vaxx’s efficacy, so ramped it up. She volunteered at vaxx centers around town as much as possible. She injected thousands of people. She delivered Informed Consent by telling them they may get a sore arm and a headache. She was on a mission. She injected pregnant women without hesitation, even though it was impossible for her to know with certainty the long-term effects of what she was doing. It was just a chance we must take, she said. It was the only way to end this thing, she told them. If the law permitted, she would inject newborns. It did not seem to occur to her that she had already done so, but indirectly.

Through it all, however, there was a gnawing feeling, nebulous but real, like an itch that couldn’t be scratched, like a tiny voice not quite heard. What if…what if…no, it was not possible.

Then one day she got an idea. Maybe she could set up a mini-clinic at a local grocery store. Somewhere between the lettuce and the cheese.

She knew medical infidels were a fact of life. If only they saw the threat they posed to the collective.

If only the collective was served one sovereign individual at a time, like the Founding Fathers said.

  3. EU overreach

European Commission investigates the idea of an EU Asset Registry
The European Commission is investigating the idea of an EU Asset Registry. It has published a tender for a “Feasibility Study for a European Asset Registry in the Context of the Fight [Against Money Laundering] and Tax Evasion”.
In a letter to McGuinness, Ferber complains:

“For me, these plans (…) are completely disproportionate and the relationship between citizens and the State envisioned by these plans reminds of the one we know from China, rather than from EU member states.”
    – In a leader, Kronen Zeitung, Austria’s most popular newspaper, describes the EU as a “fanatic spy of our assets”. It recalls Austria’s own failed experience with a wealth tax and an asset register, mentioning it was “abolished, because it was insanely difficult to record the relevant items and the income it delivered was smaller than its cost.”
    – Another Austria daily, Die Presse, notes that “it reads like a Chapter of Orwell’s 1984”.
    – German magazine Focus carries the headline “the EU wants to search us until the last cent”, furthermore warning:
“If this register would come to fruition, the consequences are obvious. For example, for politically unpleasant citizens – which does not only include criminals – it become much more difficult to pursue their activities in the future. These could be investigative journalists or whistleblowers, for example, that are threatened with more targeted reprisals.”
It adds that because of another EU Commission proposal – to ban cash payments for transactions under 10.000 euro, something which is being opposed by the current Austrian government – “it is becoming increasingly difficult for individual citizens to buy or sell assets without government supervision.”
    – The “Taxpayers Association of Europe” declared it was “appalled by the plans for the EU Asset Register”, warning that such a measure “would cause [support for the EU] to dwindle massively”, adding:
“The control of cash flows, investments and assets is contrary to human dignity. Under the guise of preventing money laundering, we are all to be screened. Now, it is time for civil disobedience. People should take to the streets like the yellow vests in France.”
    EU tackling crypto
Separately, the European Commission also announced it would force cryptocurrency exchanges – like Binance, Coinbase and Kraken – to collect the details of people sending and receiving crypto, bringing them in line with the “Know Your Customer” (KYS) rules already imposed on other financial institutions. This comes on top of similar national attempts to tackle crypto and takes place in the context of the Commission’s new EU Anti-Money Laundering Authority, which is meant to “supervise the riskiest financial institutions.”

Call this a case of “we’re not from the government but we’re here to help.” The suggestion was put forward by The Nation’s Elie Mystal during an appearance on CNN.

The purpose of the force, in Mystal’s vision of it, would be to provide free abortions in defiance of the state’s new abortion law. Here is a portion of a transcript of Mystal’s remarks courtesy of Breitbart, which also provides a clip of the show:

    • Water Wars.
      Crimea needs that water.
      ……_Crimea_ is _Russia_……

Western color-warmongers are encouraging Zelensky to weaponize water. THAT’S unsustainable. Real people are suffering because elites 1000s of miles away are having fun playing realpolitik games.

Except for a tiny gang of crazies in Western Ukr, no one there wants to go to war over Crimea. Deployment of the water weapon is NOT in the interests of the people in the region.

If Zelensky doesn’t stop playing poodle to creeps in our DoS [Nuland, et al.] and cynical Eurocrats, Russia will invade and take [the largely Russian-speaking] eastern Ukr up to the Dnieper River. That’s the logical border.

      – ALERT – BOLO –
Hysterical anti-Putin propaganda. A bogus, a splendid little war to erase the debacle in Afghanistan. Make the WH, Pentagon, DoS, and all our flabby allies look great again.

Putin will surely take advantage of the *Biden* opportunity, but few will acknowledge it was opened by the same Cabal that instigated the Maidan coup.

  5. CNBC – Oxford Vaccine Scientist: Maybe end of pandemic in sight

In conversation with CNBC’s Tania Bryer after receiving the Heroes award at the 2021 GQ Men of the Year Awards, Professor Dame Sarah Gilbert and Doctor Catherine Green – the Scientists who led the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine team spoke about receiving the award, which was presented virtually by the Duke of Sussex, the work it took to create a COVID-19 vaccine, their response to anti-vax protests and hopes for an end to the pandemic.

    • Deutsche Pravda – Coronavirus cases go up in Germany as vaccination rates fall

Since July, vaccination centers in Germany are nowhere near as busy as they were when the campaign kicked off in the spring.

At the same time, Germany still needs at least five million vaccinations to make it safely through the fall.

Around 190,000 jabs are administered every day – the figure needs to be three times as many.

More than 60 percent of the population is fully vaccinated against COVID-19, but the pace of inoculations has slowed in recent weeks.

To get things back on track, Berlin authorities have enlisted the help of the public transport system – inviting people to get on the vaccine train!

    • Unvaccinated people ‘can’t expect the rest of us to protect them’

HSE board member has suggested refusing a COVID-19 vaccine is ‘selfish and arrogant’.

Fergus Finlay says people need to be aware of the consequences to themselves and others.

He told On The Record those who are unvaccinated cannot expect others to protect them.

“If you’re double vaccinated you can still get COVID, but you shouldn’t get too sick.

“If you’re not vaccinated, if you’ve chosen not to be vaccinated, you can still get COVID and you can end up in ICU or dead.

“And that’s something that people ought to get and understand.

“I just cannot understand the mentality of somebody who says ‘To hell with the vaccine, I’m not bothering me backside getting the vaccine’ – and expecting the rest of us to protect them.

“We don’t have a choice here – we have to try and get things going again.

“The level of frustration among people, and now unfortunately the level of risk that people are going to have to run to some extent.”

And he says the lifting of physical distancing requirements, from October 22nd, could hurt this further.

“Last winter, for example, almost nobody in Ireland got the flu because of social distancing, masking and so on.

“This year, because there’s less social distancing, more people are going to get the flu and are going to find themselves in hospital with serious flu complications.”

    • AUSTRALIA – “It’s going to be a vaccinated economy” Dan Andrews confirms vaccination segregation policy.

In his press conference today Dan Andrews confirm that the health care system and the economy itself will be “locked out” to those who are unvaccinated.

“Its going to become a pandemic of the unvaccinated” “its not safe for people who are unvaccinated to be roaming around the place, spreading the virus”

So, taxpaying citizens, who PAY for the public heathcare system, will be LOCKED OUT of the very system they have financially supported their entire working lives.

I can only urge you, if you haven’t started putting food away for difficult times ahead, it’s never too late to start.

In a press conference yesterday from Victoria, Premier Daniel Andrews proclaimed that vaccinated citizens in the state of Victoria will be allowed out of lockdown in the near future. However, freedom as defined by access to medical treatment, the ability to work, shopping, attending events and engagement in the economy writ large, will not be permitted for any non-vaccinated citizen.

Anyone who is not vaccinated will remain in locked-down isolation as enforced by the state.

A satellite image that was released on Sunday reportedly shows six airplanes that the Taliban is not allowing to fly out of Afghanistan. The planes are supposed to be carrying American citizens and Afghan interpreters who helped the U.S. Military.

Daniel Lippman, a reporter at Politico, tweeted out a photo from Maxar Technologies, writing: “Newly released satellite images show six commercial airplanes at Mazar-i-Sharif airport in northern Afghanistan that are not being allowed to depart by the Taliban.”

“American citizens and Afghan interpreters are reportedly waiting to board the flights,” he added.

The Taliban is reportedly not allowing flights carrying American citizens and green card holders to leave Afghanistan.

CBS News reported that, according to congressional and NGO sources, “multiple planes that are ready to take American citizens and green card holders out of the country are being denied permission to leave by the Taliban.”

A State Department email viewed by CBS News said that the flights out of Afghanistan have permission to land in Qatar “if and when the Taliban agrees to takeoff.”

A senior congressional source told CBS News, “The Taliban is basically holding them hostage to get more out of the Americans.”

“The group Ascend, an NGO that teaches young women leadership through athletics, told CBS News they have two planes that have been waiting for six days ready to take between 600 and 1200 people — including 19 American citizens and two permanent residents,” the report added. “The planes are not currently loaded. The passengers are being held nearby, because the Taliban won’t let them into the airport, according to a senior congressional source.”
Biden Admin Blocking Private Flights From Evacuating Americans Out Of Afghanistan: Report
    Ryan Saavedra
    4-6 minutes

The Biden administration is reportedly blocking private rescue efforts from flying American citizens, green card holders, and Special Immigration Visa applicants out of Afghanistan.

“Rick Clay, who runs the private rescue group PlanB, told Fox News that the State Department is the only thing preventing the flights he’s organizing from leaving Afghanistan,” Fox News reported. “Two other American individuals separately involved in evacuation efforts, whom Fox News is not naming to avoid jeopardizing ongoing rescue efforts, similarly said that the State Department is the sole entity preventing their charter flights from leaving Afghanistan.”

One of the individuals that Fox News spoke to said that “all it takes is a f***ing phone call” to fix the problem and that it was unacceptable to be “negotiating with American lives.”

“If one life is lost as a result of this, the blood is on the White House’s hands. The blood is on their hands,” that individual said. “It is not the Taliban that is holding this up – as much as it sickens me to say that – it is the United States government.”

The White House is maintaining a ‘wall of silence’ about the developing hostage situation in Afghanistan.

The White House’s “radio silence” on the unfolding hostage crisis follows an order by the White House Counsel to “ghost” the media seeking information on events in Afghanistan.

As Becker News reported exclusively earlier, multiple Pentagon sources indicate there has been a “lockdown” on all Requests for Information (RFIs) on the military withdrawal from Afghanistan and its disastrous aftermath.

  7. Rep. McCaul On Afghan Interpreters Left Behind: ‘Executions Are Taking Place,’ ‘Retaliation Has Been Severe’

UNITED STATES – AUGUST 25: Rep. Michael McCaul, R-Texas, conducts a news conference outside the U.S. Capitol to call on President Biden to publicly commit to continue evacuating people from Afghanistan until all Americans and all special immigrant visas (SIV) applicants have been safely evacuated, on Wednesday, August 25, 2021.

Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX), the ranking member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, told Fox News on Sunday that Afghan interpreters who were left behind are now facing executions as the Taliban enacts “severe” retaliation against those who helped U.S. forces in Afghanistan.

McCaul’s remarks come after the majority of the Afghan Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) applicants have reportedly been left behind by the administration.

“There are also reports that the Taliban is now carrying out mass killings of former Afghan government officials, former Afghan defense forces,” Fox News anchor Chris Wallace said to McCaul during the interview. “Can you shed any light on that?”

  9. Six Palestinians escape from high-security prison in Israel
Israeli forces have been searching for six Palestinian prisoners who managed to escape from a high-security facility in northern Israel early on Monday.
The prisoners escaped from the Gilboa prison, which is supposed to be one of Israel’s most secured facilities. Such breakouts are extremely rare.
Local media reports said the men, who likely shared the same prison cell, escaped through a tunnel and appeared to have received some outside help. The tunnel appeared to have been dug from below a toilet in the cell, from which the prisoners crawled their way out of the facility.
The prisoners included Zakariye Zubeidi, 46, a former Fatah party leader in the northern West Bank city of Jenin, as well as five Palestinian Islamic Jihad members serving life sentences for involvement in attacks on Israelis during the Palestinian Intifada – or uprising – in the early 2000s.

Biden, Harris or Pelosi? All 3 options are ‘pretty terrible’

The anger over the death of 13 American service members – coupled with the refusal of the Biden administration to take responsibility for the blunders of the Afghanistan withdrawal – has many people calling for accountability. That includes some lawmakers and concerned citizens who are calling for President Joe Biden to resign or be removed in accordance with the 25th Amendment.

Republican Congressman Dan Crenshaw serves Texas’s 2nd Congressional District. During a recent appearance on Fox News, the Afghanistan war veteran pointed out that the reality of replacing Biden must be dealt with.

Erdogan’s Plans for the Future of Afghanistan: China, Russia and Terrorists

The US and the EU should not buy Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s fake pro-Western posture (such as when he offered to run the Kabul airport, then fled) or his fake anti-radicalism (such as when he is courting the Afghan terrorists). Erdogan’s strategy, as a member of NATO, is clearly to bolster Russia’s and China’s plans for the future of Afghanistan.

When the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan in December 1979 in support of the communist Afghan government, then in conflict with radical Muslim fighters, Turkey was having its own civil war between ultra-left and ultra-right factions. In September 1980, the Turkish military staged a coup d’état and banned all political parties, including Islamist ones.

  13. Former Israeli Ambassador to US Ron Dermer: World Will Allow Iran to Acquire a Nuclear Weapon

Former Israeli ambassador to the US Ron Dermer told Israeli daily Israel Hayom in an interview published Sunday that the world will allow Iran to get a nuclear weapon, leaving Israel to contend with the threat alone.

Dermer, who served as ambassador for seven years under former prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, was Israel’s man in Washington through some of the most tumultuous years of the Israel-US relationship, including the intense split between Netanyahu and former president Barack Obama over the Iran nuclear deal.

“In no uncertain terms, the world will allow it to happen,” Dermer said of Iran acquiring a nuclear weapon.

“No one wanted North Korea and Pakistan to get nuclear weapons, but it happened. [Former US President Barack] Obama and [current US President Joe] Biden also don’t want Iran to have nuclear weapons, but it will happen if we [Israel] doesn’t stop it,” he asserted.

“The Iranians want to turn Israel into South Korea, and Tel Aviv into Seoul,” Dermer said. “They want to surround us with a conventional ring of precision weapons and create a balance of terror so that any time someone fires a rocket from Gaza, you will think twice before responding.”

“In year 15 of the nuclear deal, when your expectation is that the international community will prevent them from acquiring a nuclear weapon, [Iran’s] conventional might will be such that people will say, ‘Now it’s already too late to stop them. They will destroy Tel Aviv,’” he said.

  14. The Taliban Takeover: Iranian Interests in Afghanistan

There are significant religious and ideological differences between the Shiite government in Tehran and the Sunni terrorist organization that has taken control of Afghanistan. Nonetheless, Iran sees the change in government in its eastern neighbor as a positive development.

Why has the regime of the ayatollahs changed its approach toward the Taliban? What ties between the neighboring countries are likely to dominate with the completed American withdrawal?
Iran’s primary security interests in Afghanistan are to prevent terrorist infiltration. As of now, Iran regards ISIS as the most significant terrorist threat. According to American reports, the Afghan branch of ISIS has conducted many terrorist attacks against civilian Shiite targets in Afghanistan. The American withdrawal is liable to strengthen ISIS in Afghanistan and reinforce its activity against the Shiite community or Iranian targets.

Iran also wants to safeguard its economic interests as the largest exporter to Afghanistan, one of Iran’s largest markets for non-oil exports. Another important Iranian interest is the free flow of water from Afghanistan to Iran – a matter of dispute between the two countries. The Helmand River, which flows from Afghanistan to the Sistan region in Iran, supplies water for about a million people.

The improved relations between Iran and the Taliban, despite the ideological and religious differences and the Shiite-Sunni rift, reflect a large degree of realpolitik. As long as its security and economic interests are preserved, Iran is not expected to support the Taliban’s opponents or engage in subversive activity in Afghanistan.

  15. The Taliban’s Palestinian Partners: Implications for the Middle East Peace Process

The Taliban’s reconquering of Afghanistan has reenergized the global jihad’s war against the West, inspiring other regional Islamist and extremist movements, including those of the Palestinians.

Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad see the U.S. pullout from Afghanistan as vindicating their longstanding ideological claims that patience pays off and that “resistance” can defeat the American-led Western alliance and dismantle the State of Israel.

Congratulating the Taliban on August 17, 2021, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh said, “The demise of the U.S. occupation of Afghanistan is a prelude to the demise of the Israeli occupation of the land of Palestine.”

Palestinian statements of support for the Taliban should be understood in the context of the fundamentalist groups’ ideological rejection of America and Israel as infidels seeking to control the lands of Islam.

Dr. Abdullah Azzam, a Palestinian scholar and cleric, is widely considered the “father of the global jihad” and served as a mentor to Osama bin Laden. Azzam laid the groundwork for the establishment of al-Qaeda and the Pakistani jihadist group Lashkar-e-Taiba, which carried out the deadly Mumbai, India, attack in 2008, killing 175 people….

The Taliban victory in Afghanistan makes it impossible for Palestinian Islamists to agree to any U.S. peace proposal that would require any Palestinian concessions. The Taliban’s takeover and the U.S. withdrawal have legitimized and empowered Hamas as the new standard for “resistance” against Israel.

Bill Gates offered House of Reps $10m bribe for speedy passage of compulsory vaccine bill – CUPP alleges

The Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP), on Monday, alleged that it has intercepted a human intelligence report that the Nigeria House of Representatives leadership was poised to forcefully pass the compulsory vaccine bill without subjecting it to the traditions of legislative proceedings.

In a statement issued and signed by the spokesperson of the opposition political parties, Barrister Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere and sent to DAILY POST in Abuja on Monday, the body urged lawmakers in the lower chamber to rise against impunity.

The body in the statement alleged that a sum of $10 million was offered by the American Computer Czar, Bill Gates to influence the speedy passage of the bill without recourse to legislative public hearing, a development they averted as anachronistic, adding that the Speaker, Femi Gbajabiamila should be impeached if he forces the bill on members.
