Reader’s Links for September 2, 2021

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  1. “A new study has discovered that people with tattoos were more likely to be diagnosed with mental health issues and to report sleep problems.

Researchers also found that people who had tattoos were more likely to be smokers, to have spent time in jail, and to have a higher number of sex partners in the past year.”

“Whether you are commemorating a life event or coming up from a bad relationship, a tattoo can help your mind relax and have some peace. It’s not a midlife crisis, as some people usually put it, but a way to fulfill one’s desires. This article will discuss how tattoos can help heal and improve mental health. Here are the ways.”

Both articles explain why tattooed people should never be police officers: their bipolar natures of depression and euphoria.

  2. Collectivist logic is powerful and effective and flourishing despite having killed so many. It sneaks up and makes people feel righteous. It empowers them to justify any means for any end. It creates the Other then, after the carnage, mutters its historical “oops”. The importance of the creation of the Other is becoming crystal clear. The Other’s role, very specifically, is to direct, siphon, focus, amplify and receive all public dissent and animus that would otherwise be directed at the authorities in control.

“Do your part…,” says Trudeau. All for the greater good. All for the collective.

I heard it yesterday, too, at my child’s doctor’s office. Every single issue I politely brought up was shot down with a head shake and a wave of the hand. No, there are no alternatives to the injections–they are our only way out of this. This was in response to my question about HCQ and Ivermectin. (In fact I saw her fighting to hide her disgust at my mentioning HCQ.) False positive PCR tests do no harm and are better than false negatives. (So creating hysteria and fear is a good thing?) MRNA technology has been around forever, she said, implying it was tried and true. No, there is no meaningful threat of myocarditis–she’d only seen two cases that resolved in a couple of weeks. It is the virus that causes more cases. Yes, they were hesitant with pregnant women at first, concerned about the placenta, but then it was bombs away. The only reason she wasn’t vaxxing newborns was because she’s not allowed. EVERYONE in ICUs now in the U.S. is unvaxxed, she said. What about all the “breakthrough” cases in Israel? I responded. Only the unvaccinated end up in the ICU, she replied. The vaxxed are protected.

What about collateral damage from pandemic policies? I asked. What about increased depression, alcoholism, suicides, bankruptcy, and all that?

“You ain’t seen nothin’, yet,” she replied. “If we don’t get everyone vaccinated this winter will be bad. I already see it coming. You’ll have a lot more bankruptcies.”

    “We already have a lot.”

    “You’ll see more.”

“What about what’s going on in Australia?”

“They’re doing what it takes. They have cases. I’d lock everyone down in a second if I had to.”

She admitted she was on the radical side of supporting the injections. She said she had seen enough young people die. She did not say she had seen them die of the flu, but now the Delta variant was attacking children much more.

What about antibody dependent enhancement? I asked. Autoimmune issues are a fact of life, she said. They’re common. Vaccine cases are very rare and no worry statistically. What about never-ending boosters? I asked. Nothing is perfect, was her retort whenever she had no answer. What about blood clots? Again, nothing was perfect and she had seen no significant issues with clotting in the thousands she had injected. If she could get a third shot tomorrow she would be absolutely ecstatic, she said. This struck me as particularly weird. It suggested to me that the more she sacrificed her own bodily autonomy the more virtuous she somehow was.

As my child and I walked away from the clinic I realized the science had just been closed before our very eyes. I saw how dissent will be crushed without mercy this coming winter. I saw how those injected will “defend their purchase” vigorously at the expense of the Others. I saw the forming the new Jews and Kulaks and, despite the warm sun in the sky on this first day of September, I saw the light dimming by the eclipse of freedom.

“It’s a good thing you were wearing a mask,” said my daughter with the x-ray eyes as we walked to the car.

“Because I knew your expression even though your face was hidden.”

Finally, I thought, a use for the stupid masks.

Inevitably, a pallet of cash makes its appearance in the Afghanistan drama

    Video via Twitter, @johncardillo

No, no: this isn’t about the Biden administration having deliberately dispatched a pallet of cash to the Taliban, as the Obama administration did to Iran (several times) in 2016.

But it’s an interesting recurrence of a theme. This time, the visual is even more vivid, as it involves the hands of a presumed Taliban operative rifling through a sealed package of U.S. $100 bills, after plucking it from a vast, neatly-stacked pallet-size lot of such packages and ripping it open. (The cash interlude starts around the 30-second mark.)

Latest: Biden admin’s COVID-19 probe, at 90-day point, still inconclusive on origins

The video includes earlier footage of Taliban surveying an array of neatly laid-out small arms. What we’re seeing is what the U.S. left behind in the evacuation. It’s not clear where the U.S. cash bonanza came from, but it could have been a few different sources, including the Afghan national bank and the U.S. embassy.

  5. Biden knew the war in Afghanistan was lost, but blackmailed afghan president to go along with the “narrative” (charade).

Joe Biden’s call to Afghan prez is impeachable: Devine
Reuters has a bombshell report about a July phone call between Joe Biden and then-Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani, in which the US president promises military aid in return for lies.
The “perception around the world and in parts of Afghanistan, I believe, is that things aren’t going well in terms of the fight against the Taliban,” says Biden in the July 23 call. “And there’s a need, whether it is true or not, there is a need to project a different picture.”
Biden’s solution was to create the “perception” that all was fine. He wanted to keep the illusion going long enough to cover his Aug. 31 self-imposed deadline to withdraw US troops and have a victory lap on September 11th, when he would preen as the first president to end the forever war.
So he asked Ghani to trick up an event to make it look as if he had a plan to push back on the Taliban to reassure America’s allies who were beginning to question Biden’s timetable.
Ghani tried to explain that the situation was dire: “Mr. President, we are facing a full-scale invasion, composed of Taliban, full Pakistani planning and logistical support, and at least 10-15,000 international terrorists.”
He begged for US air support. “What is crucial is, close air support .?.?. a very heavy reliance on air power.”
The Afghan army was based on the US model, which relies on air support for enemy strikes, ferrying the wounded, and so on. But the contractors who serviced Afghan aircraft had left, leaving the Afghan army exposed.
Biden offered conditional air support, in return for Ghani going along with his ruse, but only until his Aug. 31 deadline. After that, “who knows?”
Ghani could see the writing on the wall, and fled Kabul three weeks later.
“Was the president in any way pushing a false narrative in that call?” a reporter asked White House press secretary Jen Psaki Wednesday after the Reuters story broke.
“I am not going to go into the details of a private conversation,” she replied.
Reuters also reported on a call to Ghani from Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, who was equally focused on turning around global “perceptions” of reality.
“The perception in the United States, in Europe and the media sort of thing is a narrative of Taliban momentum, and a narrative of Taliban victory,” Milley said in the call, also on July 23. “We need to collectively .?.?. try to turn that perception, that narrative around.”

  6. Afghan interpreter who saved Biden in Afghanistan is now stranded there
An Afghan interpreter who helped in the 2008 rescue of then-Sen. Joe Biden and two other senators from a valley in Afghanistan was among the thousands left behind as the commander-in-chief pulled US troops out of the embattled nation, leaving it in the hands of the Taliban.
Mohammed, whose last name has not been revealed as he is still in hiding, gave a message for President Biden through the Wall Street Journal on Tuesday.
“Hello Mr. President: Save me and my family,” he said. “Don’t forget me here.”
The interpreter is hiding from the Taliban after attempting to escape Afghanistan for years. He and his family are among the many Afghan allies who were unable to evacuate the country by the time US troops completed their full withdrawal Monday evening.

    • We are now seeing what a world without a strong US is like, India and the other Southeast Asian nations are arming to resist China. The question is will they be able to arm themselves fast enough to stop China’s aggression.

While there are several potential sources of hard currency now semi available to China I consider it unlikely that the CCP will remain in power long enough to exploit the untouched mineral resources in Afghanistan and to consolidate control over the South China Sea to be able to extort passage money (Bribes disguised as toll charges) which is their goal in building and arming the artificial islands.

The natural disasters (floods, early snows, bird flu, swine flu and a couple of others) has caused food shortages in China at the time when the Wuhan Flu has disrupted international trade and China isn’t exporting products the way they use to. Combine this with the way Xi Jinping is attacking the Chinese who are making money off the exports, the Capital Flight out of China to the west partially in the hands of the Billionaires and partially in the hands of CCP members (a sure sign they don’t think China is going to win the struggle for world dominance) with the Capital outflow to fund the Belt and Road programs and you have an economic disaster waiting to happen.

It is possible that China can pull itself together and save itself but that will require that 1) Jinping’s return to Maoism is reversed and that the massive corruption in China is brought under control. I don’t see either thing happening.

The question is will China;s economy tank before or after the shooting starts?

    • This is another reason for the Southeast Asian Nations to form a self defense alliance, thanks to Biden the terror groups now have a strong hold in a nation that doesn’t care about international recognition. This region has had massive trouble with the Islamic Jihad for years and it is about to get worse.

      • Rafael wins $80m contract to provide naval warfare systems in Southeast Asia

Israel’s Rafael defense contractor announced on Wednesday that it will be supplying a comprehensive naval warfare systems suite to an undisclosed country in Southeast Asia, in an $80 million contract that will be fulfilled over the next three years.

The suite will be tailored to the Shaldag MK V fast patrol vessels, designed for naval security missions, being manufactured for the unnamed country by Israel Shipyards, according to the announcement. It will include Rafael-made remote operating weapon systems called typhoon and mini-typhoon for naval missiles, an internal communication system for ships and submarines called Sea-Com, and a tactical communications system called BNET.

Rafael will also provide maintenance and support services, the weapons maker said in the announcement.

        • The arms race is accelerating due to the weakness of the US leadership, everyone that can beg, borrow or steal enough money is going to expand their naval forces and pray they don’t get invaded.

    Stay home
    Stay safe
    Wear a mask
    Do as I tell you
You ARE sick and spreading disease
    So shut the hell up.

    • All of the Southeast Asian Nations are going to have to contribute funds to this fight to keep the Taliban from gaining complete control of Afghanistan.

      • Afghanistan isn’t a country.
It might work as a loose confederation of emirates that would extend over the artificial borders of Pakistan.

Taliban is largely Pashtun, kin to the large tribe in Pakistan. Families hedge their bets by having some sons work for the very high quality Paki Intelligence Services and others in some incarnation of Taliban.

  9. Hi Johnnyu, thank you for sharing your experience.

I hope that if your doctor had not got her job through Positive Discrimination and Diversity, then just maybe her research and empiral evidence would have given her a little edge to advise on the current medical issues of covid-x’s contagion, treatments and pathologies if untreated.

Fortunately, she does not have the right to forceably inject everyone. If we were for a herd of cows, and for exactly the very same reason to save life, she would. For her intention seems to want to prevent harm and suffering, but has not weighted up the distress of the police holding guns to people’s heads.

When cities burn, she might just look beyond livestock and reconsider the abandoned bedside manner. Man does not live by dead alone. Worry cannot be their master.

“Vaccines are tested for their safety in ways that we could never do with a natural viral infection. A lot of what’s referred to as side effects are the precise things that we experience to a greater degree when we are infected: fever, headache, malaise, gastrointestinal issues, etc. With infection, you don’t know how bad it’s going to be. By not getting vaccinated, you’re rolling the dice. You may become severely ill. You may have to be hospitalized. You may die.

There’s also the risk of long COVID. I know a teenage girl who got COVID before the vaccines were available. She didn’t have a lot of symptoms, but now she has all of the symptoms of long COVID. A year later, she is trying to maintain a somewhat normal teenage life with profound fatigue. She has never recovered fully from having COVID.”

130 Retired Generals, Admirals Demand Resignations From Milley, Austin Over Afghanistan Disaster
    Ryan Saavedra
    4-5 minutes

The list of retired admirals and generals demanding resignations from Secretary of Defense (SECDEF) Lloyd Austin and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS) Mark Milley has grown significantly in the last few days, going from under 90 just a few days ago to ballooning to 130 by Thursday.

The retired admirals and generals said that both Milley and Austin need to resign “based on negligence in performing their duties primarily involving events surrounding the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan.”

The letter noted the numerous U.S. citizens and Afghan allies, including the man who helped rescue then-Sen. Joe Biden (D-DE) in 2008 when his helicopter was forced to land in a dangerous area in Afghanistan due to severe weather, who had been left behind by the administration when they pulled out of the country earlier this week.

The Flag Officers said that Milley and Austin should have strongly pushed back on Biden’s plans and, if Biden refused to heed their warnings about what would happen, they should have immediately resigned and made a public statement about the matter.

  11. American Stranded In Afghanistan: ‘We Just Smell The Death,’ Left Us With People ‘Wanting To Kill Us’

WASHINGTON, DC – AUGUST 31: U.S. President Joe Biden delivers remarks on the end of the war in Afghanistan in the State Dining Room at the White House on August 31, 2021 in Washington, DC. An American woman trapped in Afghanistan told CNN this week that she has intense fear for her life after she worked for the U.S. military as an interpreter for 14 years and has now been left behind in country run by people who she says wants “to kill us.”

Speaking with CNN’s Chris Cuomo, the woman, only identified as “Sara,” which is not her real name, said she does not even know what to believe anymore because those who were supposed to be helping her get out of the country the last couple of weeks have “been fooling me, for past 10 days, back and forth, back and forth, stories after stories.”

When Cuomo asked her what her biggest fear was right now, she responded by saying that it was her safety.

American and Afghan allies left behind in Afghanistan have entered a fraught and uncertain period of limbo following the definitive conclusion of U.S. military evacuations out of the country.

Advocates estimate roughly 150,000 vulnerable Afghans remain in the country after a U.S. evacuation effort ended early Tuesday, while those who assisted the U.S. military who may now wish to leave with their families could add another 100,000.

Many who remain have gone into hiding over fear of violent retribution by the Taliban, likely targeted for work alongside American and coalition forces who battled and killed members of the Islamic fundamentalist group over two decades of war.

These groups of people face overwhelming confusion and fear over how to leave the country, from practical matters of appropriate travel documents and questions over when airports will reopen and how they will function to the uncertainty of whether the Taliban will respond to international pressure to ensure safe passage.

  14. As much as I hate bringing race or gender into a conversation that shouldn’t have anything to do with race or gender, it seems like most times when a Black conservative is targeted over their politics, it’s a White female radical progressive who’s behind the attack. Among the worst of the batch are the “Covid Karens” out there who believe it is their sworn duty to the public to invoke their privilege and deny minorities access to their services.

Conservative commentator Candace Owens is unvaccinated. As a world traveler, she has accepted that she needs to get tested for Covid-19 constantly in order to comply with the various mandates associated with events she attends and the cities hosting them. She gets tested approximately once every two weeks.

While visiting Aspen, Colorado, Owens went through the standard process of finding a testing facility. Her assistant turned to Aspen Laboratories, known as Aspen Covid Test, which bills itself as the “Only CLIA Certified High Complexity laboratory capable of resulting Covid-19 PCR and antigen tests in the Roaring Fork Valley.”

They denied her request for appointment.

    • “…it seems like most times when a Black conservative is targeted over their politics, it’s a White female radical progressive who’s behind the attack.”

My assumption would be, it’s entitlement rather than Race.

To stand up and say ‘you earn what you worked for,” rather than
demand a purse of 50% of vaginas for every board room.

I suspect it is these values: that an employer may be allowed to determine and favor the wage of any worker based on productivity and not Class, is what parasitic identity-cults want destroyed. She may use “Uncle Tom,” to deride him with Race distractions, but its the freedoms for all to earn by their own talents, that would return these princess straight back into frogs.

  15. State of CA and LA County Reach $800,000 Settlement with John MacArthur’s Grace Community Church

The state of California and Los Angeles County are each paying $400,000 to end litigation by Grace Community Church alleging that COVID-19 restrictions on in-person worship infringed on its constitutional right to religious freedom.

The county Board of Supervisors approved its share of the settlement at a Tuesday meeting, bringing the total it has spent on the litigation to $1.35 million, City News Service reports. The settlement money is coming out of its public health budget.

Failure Joe Biden has fattened the public health budget enough with his American Rescue Plan, so at least we know that money is going to good use.

My colleague Alex Parker reported back in July 2020 about Grace Community Church Pastor John MacArthur’s defiance of the then-statewide mandates on in-person worship. MacArthur came under threats and condemnation from the faithful and faithless alike. Los Angeles County went to court several times to try and shut him down—with limited success—then went beyond imposing fines to shutting off the church’s water and electricity, and finally taking the step of canceling their parking leases!

Texas shooting start of jihad terror surge fueled by Afghanistan fiasco? – Patriot Daily Wire
    4 minutes

Could the murder of a Lyft driver in Garland, Texas, be the first in a new wave of terrorist attacks spawned by President Joe Biden’s disastrous retreat from Afghanistan?

That question was posed by the editorial board of Issues & Insights after an FBI official said Monday that Imran Ali Rasheed might have been “inspired by a foreign terrorist organization” to kill Isabella Lewis and then drive to a nearby police station and begin shooting people inside.

The FBI got involved in the case after local police found a note in the Lyft driver’s car.

“What, we wonder, could have ‘inspired’ Rasheed to go on a killing spree?” the board asked. “Could it be that the humiliating defeat of the U.S. at the hands of the fanatical Taliban has energized Islamic radicals around the world, including in Texas?”

The board noted that U.S. authorities are on “high alert” for threats to the homeland. CNN reported “people already in the U.S., who may be inspired by narratives associated with al-Qaeda, ISIS or other foreign terrorist groups,” and “will view the events in Afghanistan as an opportunity to engage in violence here at home.”

  19. Voter Fraud Underway as Mail-In Ballots Found in Back of Car
    4-5 minutes

The state of California is in peril as the recall election gets closer. Gavin Newsom will have to do anything he can to stay alive for the rest of his term. Millions of people have signed his recall petition, and it looks like he will be recalled. His followers are worried because they know that he is not well-liked, and they will do just about anything to keep him in office, even if that means finding a way to stack the ballot box like Biden did in 2020.

A considerable investigation is underway after hundreds of mail-in-ballots were found in a car. The election ballots are for the upcoming recall election. The same kind of things happened early in 2020 when ballot harvesting rings were uncovered in key states around the Union.

The Democrats are known cheaters, and they will do anything to keep their power. One media outlet noted that “Officers responding to a call August 16 about a man who was passed out in a vehicle found more than 300 ballots, a loaded gun, drugs, and other illicit materials.” This car was loaded with illegal material and devices to protect their cargo.

An attorney who is representing 17 defendants accused of taking part in the Jan. 6 Capitol breach has disappeared, possibly suffering from COVID-19, according to an Aug. 30 court filing.

Acting U.S. Attorney Channing D. Phillips said in a court document (pdf) that nearly 20 cases related to the Jan. 6 incident aren’t proceeding after John Pierce, the lawyer for the defense, went missing.

Pierce is “reportedly ill with COVID-19, on a ventilator, and unresponsive,” according to the filing. Pierce’s law firm associate, Ryan Marshall—who isn’t a licensed attorney—has been appearing in Pierce’s place at court hearings and proceedings. Marshall was also the one who revealed Pierce’s alleged hospitalization and condition, the filing said.

The lawyer, who generally posts on Twitter several times per day, hasn’t posted since Aug. 20.

Polish President Duda declared a state of emergency after a request by the Government to help protect its border with Belarus after an influx of Middle Eastern migrants arrived across the border in recent weeks.

Hundreds of migrants have crossed from Belarus into Poland within the last month, and in response, the Polish government had asked President Andrzej Duda to declare a 30-day state of emergency in Podlaskie and Lubelskie, the two regions that border Belarus.

According to a report from the news service Reuters, the state of emergency is the first in Poland since the fall of the communist regime. Duda approved the government’s request Thursday afternoon.

Euronews reports that human rights group Amnesty International, which can be generally relied upon to oppose border control for European nations, has opposed the move, calling the declaration a cynical move to “target asylum seekers and those who support them”.

  23. Over 100 retired generals and admirals are calling for the resignations of Biden administration officials, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin and Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Mark Milley, for their “negligence in performing their duties primarily involving events surrounding the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan.”

This week alone, the number demanding resignations jumped from 90 to 130. They detailed their plea in an open letter published by Flag Officers 4 America, which argues that the principal military advisors should have “recommended against this dangerous withdrawal in the strongest possible terms.”

  24. Hans von Spakovsky, manager of the Heritage Foundation’s Election Law Reform Initiative and a senior legal fellow of the Meese Center for Legal and Judicial Studies, said president Joe Biden’s margins of victory in Arizona, Nevada, and Wisconsin in the 2020 presidential election were narrower than the states’ respective totals of unaccounted-for ballots.

Biden’s margin of victory in Wisconsin was approximately 20,000 votes despite the number of ballots “missing or undeliverable” in the state amounting to 83,000, von Spakovsky noted.

“Remember the margin of victory in Wisconsin was only 20,000 votes, and that basically 82,000 ballots were either lost or undeliverable or were rejected,” von Spakovsky said on Wednesday’s edition of SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Daily with host Alex Marlow. “That’s four times the margin of victory.”

“Those are the numbers that the Wisconsin Election Commission itself reported to the U.S. Election Assistance Commission,” he added.
