Reader’s Links for May 26, 2021

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  1. Third attempt to post this:
Car tears into people using a pedestrian crossing. Apparently the driver had a bad day at the stock market(So I read. I kid you not). looks like we have a new organ donor coming up unless he is party(naturally!).
There was a video of it on YouTube which is now removed because it disturbed certain politically hypersensitive creatures. I have a copy of it but have no idea how to implant it.
The point? Besides showing 4 human rag dolls flying through the air, it shows a non “Samaritan” pedestrian right next to where one landed who instead of helping (albeit being blatantly pointless as she was almost certainly dead) turns around and leaves the scene.
IMO this shows that not being family, altruism to your fellow human is still quite dead in China as it has been for millennia and that we should be grateful that despite the leftist/muslim onslaught we still have the shreds of it left in our society. But, for how long? I did consider that being a totalitarian state that he simply did not wish to be involved, but that changes nothing.

      • I lost my personal and work notebook with all of my addresses including yours. Please email me and I will forward the video to you although this &&^%$$% PC is having email reluctance lately.

    • Not helping car accident victims – not even acknowledging they exist – is a ‘thing’ in China.

I do not know if it is cultural, or an unintended consequence of the laws in place, but there are some really weird laws in China regarding car accidents and being responsible – for the rest of their life – for both the medical care and financial support of the victim.

      • It is the fear of getting involved. Socialist governments are notorious for blaming someone else if there is political incentive. Accused for distracting the driver etc. Their homes raided and all electronic devices searched for any hate-thoughts from birth.

This is happening with Western Police Services too, who have to meet crimes-quotas and race-based outcomes.

Therefore, why take the risk of incarceration for any fault in your life that will get your contacts and family, police-raped too?

        Communism. Microagression for all.

        • No! it is natural for China and perhaps most overcrowded, poverty stricken places on this planet.
In the pre-Pearl harbour days the US had volunteer pilots flying for the nationalist Chinese vs the invading Japanese. Airstrips were hand rolled using huge rollers pulled by hundreds of labourers. The pilots while on duty awaiting scramble(to attack approaching Japanese bombers) often saw accidents where one would trip, fall and be crushed, coming out the other side like a piece of stained shoe leather. Naturally there would be a stoppage after such. But the reason was that all of the labourers were having hysterics laughing their heads off over the incident. Laughter/humour are tension release valves and laughing over someone else’s demise is because it has NOT happened to you and thus an expression of relief. This is the origin of comedy where slapstick still shows its roots.
Such non altruistic behaviour was common to the world before the teachings of JoN (NOT the churches) impacted upon the west and institutions like the Red Cross were created(red crescent does NOT help infidels). The “Good” Samaritan was such as everyone else stepped over the body and soon there will be nothing left but plain “Samaritans”.
Communism is simply a reversion to the time when human life was of no value.
A German artillery officer noticed red army troops marching arm in arm over a minefield and was told to fire upon them. he did so. Humans and pieces flew up into the air. The green of the field now became red and still they kept coming. he guessed that it was between 12000 and 20000 men sacrificed to just clear the minefield and it damaged him severely as a human. he found out from an MP who inspected a body part that had landed nearby that some of them were from punishment battalions but all were squandered deliberately.
Islam is no better. human shields a standard for barbarians is the norm for muslims be they women or children.
In the Iraq-Iran war the Iranians used children for the same thing(clearing minefields) which caused a crisis in the Iraqi veterans present who suffered a rain of children’s blood and body parts.
Evil has NO respect for any human life and a long history on this planet.

  3. Hong Kong (CNN)After weeks of facing fierce attacks from Republicans, top US infectious disease expert Anthony Fauci now has a new critic: Chinese state media.
“US elites degenerate further in morality, and Fauci is one of them,” was the headline of a blistering opinion piece penned by Hu Xijin, editor-in-chief of the state-run Global Times this week.
In the article Hu accused the top US infectious disease expert of “fanning a huge lie against China” by hyping the theory that the coronavirus was leaked from a Wuhan lab. Another article in the Global Times declared that Fauci had “betrayed Chinese scientists.”

The anger is centered on Fauci’s remarks this month that he is no longer convinced the Covid-19 pandemic originated naturally.

Shouldn’t a judge at least know what’s in the Constitution, before getting a promotion? Left-wing trial judge Arenda Wright Allen confused the Declaration of Independence with the Constitution, in her ruling striking down Virginia’s same-sex marriage ban, noted ABC News. Yet now she is being recommended for a promotion to the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, by Virginia Senators Mark Warner (D) and Tim Kaine (D). The Richmond Times-Dispatch reports that in “a letter Monday the senators recommended U.S. District Court judges Arenda Wright Allen and M. Hannah Lauck and Virginia Solicitor General Toby J. In 2014, ABC’s Erin Dooley wrote about how Judge Allen wrongly attributed a phrase to the Constitution, that it doesn’t contain:

Sky News host Chris Kenny says highly disturbing footage has revealed ABC journalists and producers “coached” women what to say when they made allegations against actor Craig McLachlan.

“The weekend documentary aired some footage from their interviews that gave us a disturbing insight into the intent of that journalism and the coaching the journalists and producers gave to the women making allegations against McLachlan,” Mr Kenny said.

Mr Kenny said there was encouragement to use the word “predatory”.

“This is a highly disturbing look behind the scenes. Are these journalists asking questions or dictating answers?”

Australian actor Craig McLachlan was found not guilty after being charged with seven counts of indecent assault and six counts of common assault by four women while performing in a Melbourne musical in 2014.

  7. Biden officials shut down Trump-era investigation to determine if COVID-19 leaked from Wuhan bio lab

    4-5 minutes

President Joe Biden’s administration reportedly shut down a State Department investigation into the origins of the COVID-19 pandemic that was started last year by the Trump administration under then-Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s leadership.

News of the Biden administration’s actions are significant because the theory that COVID-19 leaked from the Wuhan Institute of Virology — which the media once denounced as a conspiracy theory — has gained considerable traction in recent weeks, not that evidence existed previously showing the theory was not a viable possibility.
    What are the details?

According to CNN, which broke the news late Tuesday, the Biden administration terminated a “closely-held” investigation initiated by former President Donald Trump’s administration that sought to substantiate whether COVID-19 leaked from the Wuhan bio lab.

The investigation, which was conducted from the State Department’s arms control and verification bureau, “was an honest effort to probe what many initially dismissed: that China’s biological weapons program could have had a greater role in the pandemic’s origin in Wuhan,” according to CNN.

Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott, who had already committed to sign a bill that would make it more difficult for cities to defund police, stated bluntly to Fox News’ Harris Faulkner what he planned to do to cities defunding police, asserting, “We are going to defund the city.”

Faulkner noted that Abbott had announced that he would sign a bill that would make it harder for cities to defund their police departments. She pointed out that Abbott’s statement would put him at odds with Democrat-led cites such as Austin, where police took 16 minutes to respond to a 911 call about a shooting on Sunday morning.

Abbott responded to the news of the delayed response by tweeting, “This is what defunding the police looks like. Austin is incapable of timely responding to a victim shot in the head. Texas won’t tolerate this. We’re about to pass a law—that I will sign—that will prevent cities from defunding police. Sanity & safety will r

  9. Republican State AGs Threatening Legal Action Over Biden Administration’s Expansion Of Taxpayer-Funded Abortion

    4 minutes

Republican state attorneys general across the country sent a letter last week to the Biden administration threatening legal action if President Joe Biden’s Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) follows through on a proposal expanding taxpayer funding for abortion.

The Washington Free Beacon reported that the letter, authored by Ohio attorney general Dave Yost and signed by 20 other Republican state attorneys general, takes issue with a rule the Biden administration proposed on April 15, which reverses a Trump-era rule that required recipients of Title X family funding to physically separate abortion services from family planning services.

The Biden proposal would allow abortion providers to receive millions in taxpayer funding, which Yost wrote in the letter would put those recipients in “jeopardy of violating federal law.”

“Title X reflects a compromise. It funds services that large numbers of Americans support while withholding that funding from services that large numbers oppose,” the letter says. “The Proposed Rule tramples that compromise, by intertwining family-planning services with the divisive issue of publicly funded abortions.”

On Tuesday, a group of 20 Republican attorneys general sent a letter to Senate leadership opposing President Joe Biden’s nominee for director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), David Chipman.

According to the letter, which the Daily Caller first obtained, the attorneys general are concerned about Chipman’s past as a gun control advocate. Per a report from The Daily Wire, Champan previously worked for the gun control organizations Everytown for Gun Safety and Giffords as a registered lobbyist. In those roles he advocated for a number of key anti-Second Amendment pieces of legislation, including an Assault Weapons Ban, implementation of Extreme Risk Protection Orders (commonly referred to as “red flag laws”), a ban on bump stocks, and against concealed carry reciprocity (where concealed carry permits are recognized in all 50 states). Early on in the COVID lockdown, the ATF nominee also advocated for firearms dealers not to be classified as “essential businesses.”

Germans scientists say they have figured out why the Covid vaccines from AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson are linked to rare blood clots

In a new pre-print, the team says the problem is with the adenovirus vector, a common cold virus used to get the body to induce an immune response

They claim the vaccine is sent into the cell nucleus instead of surrounding fluid, where parts of it break off and create mutated versions of themselves

The mutated versions then enter the body and trigger the rare blood clots

Scientists say they can genetically adapt the vaccine to prevent the virus’s spike proteins, which it uses to enter cells, from splitting apart

[…]The AstraZeneca vaccine has been linked to 242 clotting cases and 49 deaths in the UK out of nine million shots and more than 100 in continental Europe out of 16 million. As of Wednesday, the J&J vaccine has been linked to 28 cases in the U.S. out of more than 10.4 million shots.

[…]Data shows a growing number of people are suffering from blood clotting disorders after their second dose of AstraZeneca’s coronavirus vaccine. The UK’s medical regulator found 15 cases in people recently given a top-up dose by May 12, the most recent count, up from six at the start of the month.

CALI, Colombia (AP) — The sugar mills that employ tens of thousands of people have ground to a halt. Broken stoplights dangle uselessly over downtown intersections. Police watch over burned bus stops and looted gas stations. Even the ice cream cone factory has gone silent.

Anti-government protests have raged for nearly a month across Colombia, and nowhere more fiercely than in Cali, a western city of more than 2 million people normally famed more for its tropical music than for social unrest.

At least 32 protesters have been killed in Cali in clashes with police since the protests began in late April, according to Indepaz a human rights group. It has identified 52 victims across Colombia as a whole.

Protesters and police in Cali have accused each other of using live ammunition during clashes that still occur most nights in in poor neighborhoods, which are also home to gangs.

Millions of people in the UK were ‘unwittingly tracked’ via their mobile phones as Government scientists gathered data on coronavirus vaccines.

One in ten Brits’ data was tracked in February, in an effort to see if vaccinated people movements changed after their jabs, according to the Daily Telegraph.

A report from the scientific SPI-B committee admitted that the material was used without the knowledge of those being tracked. But the Government insists that the data was anonymised and complied with GDPR rules.

Yet the revelations have sparked a backlash from outraged privacy campaigners, who branded it ‘deeply chilling’.

Microsoft and cybersecurity experts believe the massive hack against the Microsoft Exchange Server this year was conducted by a Chinese hacker group, but the Biden administration has yet to point the finger.

President Joe Biden signed a cybersecurity executive order earlier this month, naming three recent prominent cyberattacks — SolarWinds, Colonial Pipeline, and Microsoft — with a White House fact sheet saying those “recent cybersecurity incidents … are a sobering reminder that U.S. public and private sector entities increasingly face sophisticated malicious cyber activity from both nation-state actors and cyber criminals.” The United States has said Russian intelligence is behind the SolarWinds hack and that a Russian hacker gang is behind the Colonial Pipeline attack, but it has not publicly attributed the Microsoft hack to anyone.

China Isn’t Winning. The West Is Forfeiting

This week, The Wall Street Journal reported that three researchers from the Chinese Wuhan Institute of Virology were hospitalized in November 2019 with “symptoms consistent with both Covid-19 and common seasonal illness.” That report followed hard on a series of investigative pieces from journalists such as Nicholas Wade and Donald McNeil, formerly of The New York Times, who revived the media-dismissed theory that the institute had generated COVID-19 in a laboratory and then accidentally allowed it to leak. “The argument that it could have leaked out of the Wuhan Institute of Virology or a sister lab in Wuhan has become considerably stronger,” McNeil wrote. “And China’s lack of candor is disturbing.”

It now seems highly credible that COVID-19 originated inside a Chinese state laboratory — and that China knew about it as early as November. In mid-January, the World Health Organization reported, based on Chinese information, that “Preliminary investigations conducted by the Chinese authorities have found no clear evidence of human-to-human transmission of the novel #coronavirus.” China censured its own Dr. Li Wenliang for attempting to spread the news of COVID-19’s danger. It took until the end of January for China to lock down Wuhan.
