Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

      I know you can’t fix stupid but I am having a hard time wondering why I am not allowed to drive to the USA to see my Grandchildren and yet the mailin guy is allowing anybody to cross the Southern border.

      Canadians have been in some stage of lockdown, shutdown, shut up and do what you are told for over a year. You must stay home, stay safe, shut up, wear a mask and get the gene therapy the madmen of the world have come up with, but the globalist, Justine Trudeau invited anyone to walk across the border.

      Nick Nanos, the Liberal pollster is telling us, the Liberals are ahead in the polls. I learned a long time ago, polls are not accurate, they are a way of leading the trained seals. After all the scandals under this government, and there have been so many, all the jobs lost, the increased taxes, the lives lost through lack of proper health care, the youth suicide, the overdoses, people allowed to shop at box stores, buy alcohol, buy pot, not go to church, during this Great Reset LIE, I find it terribly hard that a pollster would have the audacity to tell Canadians the Liberal are ahead in the polls.

        I do believe the Liberals are ahead in voting intentions, but only by a small percentage. Apparently, the NDP is gaining in popularity.

        When voting, people look for strength and charisma in a leader. The Conservative Party’s current and past candidates have neither.

        Sheer’s chubby dimple-face and soft voice coupled with his wishy-washiness and political correctness led to failure.

        O’Toole’s lack of head hair (bald) and his chubby face don’t project strength or charisma. And that is why Justin Trudeau is leading.

        BTW, I’m a Maxime Bernier fan. He was cheated out of the leadership and the unknown Sheer won by a razor-thin margin. The ballots were destroyed thirty minutes after announcing the winner.

    Any credibility the new Intelligence Community Assessment on foreign threats to the 2020 election might have lasts only as long as it takes to remember what we already know.

    On some startlingly glaring points, the ICA omits the public information that would essentially delegitimize its claims.

    Probably the most glaring omission is the point that President Joe Biden has, in fact, been placed under indictment in Ukraine. The ICA describes what it considers an info operations campaign by Russia, depicting Biden, son Hunter, and Hunter’s associates as indictable in Ukraine. But it doesn’t mention anywhere that this wasn’t just an info op. Joe Biden has actually been indicted.

    In February 2020, a case was opened in Ukrainian court stating an unnamed American was a criminal suspect in an effort to fire former chief prosecutor Viktor Shokin. In May 2020, a Ukrainian judge ruled that the name of the American must be included in the filings on the case. The name is that of now-President Joe Biden. John Solomon, reporting at Just the News, stated that the Ukrainian prosecutor had not yet complied with the ruling. (The judge’s decision, citing Biden’s as the previously shielded name, was available and included in Solomon’s report.)

    Tanzania’s President John Magufuli has died aged 61, the country’s vice-president has announced.

    He died on Wednesday from heart complications at a hospital in Dar es Salaam, Samia Suluhu Hassan said in an address on state television.

  13. Norwegian experts say deadly blood clots were caused by the AstraZeneca covid vaccine

    “Our theory that this is a powerful immune response most likely triggered by the vaccine, has been confirmed”, says professor and chief physician Pal Andre Holme.

    Three Norwegian health workers under the age of 50 have been hospitalized. One is dead.

    “The reason for the condition of our patients has been found”, chief physician and professor Pal Andre Holme announced to Norwegian national newspaper VG today.

    He has lead the work to find out why three health workers under the age of 50 were hospitalized with serious blood clots and low levels of blood platelets after having taken the AstraZeneca Covid vaccine. One of the health workers died on Monday.

    The experts have worked on a theory that it was in fact the vaccine which triggered and unexpected and powerful immune response – a theory they now believe they have confirmed.

    “Our theory that this is a powerful immune response which most likely was caused by the vaccine has been found. In collaboration with experts in the field from the University Hospital of North Norway HF, we have found specific antibodies against blood platelets that can cause these reactions, and which we know from other fields of medicine, but then with medical drugs as the cause of the reaction”, the chief physician explains to VG.

    “Nothing but the vaccine can explain why”
    When asked to clarify why he says “most likely” in the quote, Holme confidently responds that the reason for these rare cases of blood clots has been found.

    “We have the reason. Nothing but the vaccine can explain why these individuals had this immune response”, he states.

    VG also asks how Holme can know that the immune response is not caused by something other than the vaccine.

    “There is nothing in the patient history of these individuals that can give such a powerful immune response. I am confident that the antibodies that we have found are the cause, and I see no other explanation than it being the vaccine which triggers it”, he responds.

    The three affected health workers all came into the hospital with a very rare condition:

    They had acute pain
    They had blood clots in unusual places, such as their stomachs and brains
    In addition, they had bleedings and low levels of platelets
    EMA expected to conclude later today
    The Norwegian Medicines Agency does not wish to comment on the conclusions from Oslo University Hospital.

    “We have to look at the results first, I don’t want to comment on this now”, says Medical Director Steinar Madsen to NTB, The Norwegian News Agency.

    The Safety Committee of the European Medicines Agency are expected to conclude on the matter later today, and Madsen says he awaits their results.

    AstraZeneca also declines to comment the conclusion of the Norwegian experts.

    “We await the decisions of the EMA later today before we will comment on this”, Media Relations Director Christina Malmberg Hägerstrand says to NTB.

    Holme has led a group at the hospital that has worked hard to find out why three health workers under the age of 50 were admitted with a severe blood clot after taking the AstraZeneca vaccine.

    The conclusion is now that a strong immune response after vaccination has led to blood clots.

    According to Holme, the explanation is that the immune response has led to the formation of antibodies that have caused the platelets to act in a way that blood clots have formed.
    At the same time, the antibodies have contributed to platelets being removed from the circulation so that the people have had a low number of platelets and thus also experienced bleeding.

    “We believe this is the direct reason why we see this clinical picture,” Holme said at the press conference on Thursday.

      Why was vaccination with the COVID-19 vaccine AstraZeneca suspended?

      A specific form of severe cerebral venous thrombosis associated with platelet deficiency (thrombocytopenia) and bleeding has been identified in seven cases (as of 15 March 2021) in temporal association with vaccination with COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca.

      1. It is a very serious disease that is also difficult to treat. Of the seven affected individuals, three individuals had died.

      2. The affected individuals had ages ranging from about 20 to 50 years.>/b>

      3. Six of the affected persons had a particular form of cerebral venous thrombosis, called sinus vein thrombosis. All six individuals were younger to middle-aged women (see above). Another case with cerebral hemorrhage in platelet deficiency and thrombosis was medically very comparable. All cases occurred between four and 16 days after vaccination with COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca. This presented as a comparable pattern.

      4. The number of these cases after vaccination with COVID-19 AstraZeneca is statistically significantly higher than the number of cerebral venous thromboses that normally occur in the unvaccinated population. For this purpose, an observed-versus-expected analysis was performed, comparing the number of cases expected without vaccination in a 14-day time window with the number of cases reported after approximately 1.6 million AstraZeneca vaccinations in Germany. About one case would have been expected, and seven cases had been reported.

      5. The younger to middle-aged population affected by the severe cerebral venous thrombosis with platelet deficiency is not the population at high risk for a severe or even fatal COVID-19 course.

      6. In addition to the experts from the Paul-Ehrlich-Institut, other experts in thrombosis, haematology, and an adenovirus specialist were consulted with the details of the reported cases. All experts agreed unanimously that a pattern could be discerned here and that a connection between the reported above-mentioned diseases and the vaccination with COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca was not implausible.

      After an overall review and consideration of the above facts, the Paul-Ehrlich-Institut recommended that vaccination with the COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca be suspended in Germany as a precautionary measure in order to further analyse the cases. The German Federal Ministry of Health (BMG) has followed this recommendation. The Pharmacovigilance Risk Assessment Committee (PRAC) at the European Medicines Agency (EMA) will review during the week of 15 March 2021, whether and how the new findings affect the benefit-risk profile of COVID-19 AstraZeneca and the EU authorisation of the vaccine.

      Health authorities said Thursday it was a man in his 20s after he got an — as yet — unconfirmed COVID-19 vaccine.

      This comes as some EU countries have opted to temporarily suspend the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine as a precautionary measure against such blood clots.

      The European Medicines Agency is continuing its probe into the relationship between the vaccine and reported side effects.

      Therapeutic Goods Administration head Professor John Skerritt also backed the jab, saying “this has nothing to do with COVID vaccines specifically.”

      “There appears to have been a cluster in Queensland and again clusters happen and it’s not necessarily something special about Queensland,” he said.

      On March 7, missiles and drones struck the Saudi oil-loading facility at Ras Tanura – the largest in the world. The attack was very similar to the one in September 2019, which tied up about half of Saudi Arabia’s oil-exporting capacity for weeks. It appears that both attacks were launched from Iraq or perhaps even directly from Iran, although the Houthis took responsibility, even though Yemen is 1,000 km. away.

    Armed man seized by security forces wanted to take revenge for blasphemous cartoons published in France

    Pakistani security agencies have thwarted an attempted attack on the French embassy in Islamabad over alleged blasphemy.

    An unnamed suspect was taken into custody on March 18 after he resorted to aerial firing in a bid to pass through a security checkpoint in the diplomatic enclave of Pakistan’s capital.

    He was found to be carrying a semi-automatic rifle that he had snatched from police in another city of Punjab. The suspect told police that he wanted to take revenge for blasphemous cartoons published in France.

    The arrest came amid reports that the French ambassador to Pakistan, Marc Barety, was facing threats from radical groups.

    The relationship between Pakistan and France remains strained over cartoons of Prophet Muhammad deemed blasphemous by many in the deeply conservative Islamic nation.

    Pakistan witnessed several anti-France protests last year after French President Emmanuel Macron defended the cartoons published by satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo.

      The project includes the construction of 26.6km BRT corridor in Karachi encompassing both the Red Line corridor (24.2km) and the common corridor segment (2.4km) as well as feeder and direct services routes to the nearby communities.

      Beyond the 26.6km corridor infrastructure, the project is innovative in many ways, and on climate change mitigation the choice is made for the bio-methane hybrid bus technology, powered by a dedicated waste methanisation plant. This technology combined with the massive transport supply will further reduce CO2 emissions from the public transport system.

      The holistic street approach for this urban development project is to include organisation and facilities for all the public space along the BRT corridor, whereas its gender and social inclusion dimensions are through the adoption of good practices in accessibility and gender mainstreaming.

      In addition, the project includes a support component for the transition of the existing bus sector with the integration of informal operators into the new system, which is a prerequisite for their proper and full commissioning.

    The US State Department called for companies to cease activity on the controversial pipeline or face sanctions. The US has slammed the project as a Russian plan to “divide Europe and weaken European energy security.”

    US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Thursday called on companies involved in the construction of the Russian-German Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline to “immediately abandon work” or potentially face harsh sanctions.

    In a statement, the State Department said it is monitoring and assessing information about companies doing work on the project.

    “Any entity involved in the Nord Stream 2 pipeline risks US sanctions and should immediately abandon work on the pipeline,” the statement reads.

    Blinken also said the Biden administration is intent on upholding sanctions legislation passed by Congress in 2019 and expanded with broad bipartisan support in 2020.

    The statement gives context to the administration’s decision, noting that, “multiple US administrations have made clear, this pipeline is a Russian geopolitical project intended to divide Europe and weaken European energy security.”

    Nord Stream 2 another ‘bad deal’ according to the US

    Blinken called the controversial project, which will deliver Russian natural gas directly to Germany via undersea pipelines on the bed of the Baltic Sea, “a bad deal — for Germany, for Ukraine and for our Central and Eastern European allies and partners.”

    The US has also actively sought to get European allies to buy US natural gas instead of purchasing it from a much more adversarial Russia.

    Nord Stream 2 will double the capacity of existing gas delivery infrastructure and its direct route will bypass traditional transit countries such as Ukraine and Poland, which would potentially leave them without transit revenues.

    The project has also sparked fears that Russia will use the pipeline as leverage to expand influence in Europe.

    US sanctions laws require the State Department to punish companies involved in the installation, certification or insurance of the project spearheaded by Russia’s state-owned Gazprom, along with Western partners.

    Some 20 companies — mainly insurers — reportedly bailed out of the project in response to US sanction warnings.

    A federal judge in New York City ruled Thursday that various redactions sought by both alleged Jeffrey Epstein madame, Ghislaine Maxwell, and prosecutors should remain in place.

    U.S. District Judge Alison Nathan agreed to multiple redactions proposed by Maxwell, while okaying a majority of the redactions requested by government lawyers.

    Law & Crime reports:

    Judge Nathan did side with Maxwell on several additional redactions proposed to transcripts submitted as part of the government’s filing, finding that to make those details public would only tend to cater to an appetite for the “sensational and impure.”

    “Those portions of the transcript, which were redacted in the civil matter, concern privacy interests and their disclosure would merely serve to cater to a ‘craving for that which is sensational and impure,’” she wrote. “The Court thus concludes that such redactions are justified.”

    Several other redactions proposed by the government were rejected at Maxwell’s request after Judge Nathan found that prosecutors failed to provide a reasonable basis “as to why its investigation at this stage of the matter would be imperiled by the disclosure of the information regarding how it obtained the information in question, and the requested redactions are far from narrowly tailored.”

    The development comes after Maxwell’s attorneys filed motions in January urging the court to dismiss charges that she recruited victims for the now-deceased Epstein.

    “The government thus violated Ms. Maxwell’s Sixth Amendment right to be indicted by a grand jury drawn from a fair-cross section of the community,” a motion stated. “At no point… has the government alleged that Ms. Maxwell engaged in any unlawful conduct in the White Plains Division, or that any overt act in furtherance of the alleged conspiracies occurred in the White Plains Division.”

    In February, Maxwell lost a bid to keep secret an excerpt from a 2016 deposition regarding sex toys.

    The New York Post reported at the time:

    US District Judge Loretta Preska already released large portions of the July 22 under-oath interview related to a now-settled suit from Jeffrey Epstein accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre, but the British socialite’s lawyers had asked the judge to keep 20 lines of the document under wraps. But Preska said Monday that they couldn’t. […] Maxwell’s lawyers had argued that the excerpt should be kept sealed to keep “private the details of her own consensual, sexual activity.”

    “There is no reason not to unseal this portion of testimony,” Preska stated. “While the court acknowledges Ms. Maxwell’s interest in a fair criminal trial, Ms. Maxwell can argue all her points to the presiding judge in her criminal trial, as she has already.”

    “It does not relate to private sexual activity of consenting adults, but only to massages,” the New York City judge added. “Any private interest she has in sealing this portion of testimony does not outweigh the presumption of public access that attaches to it.”

    In December 2020, Maxwell was once against denied bail, citing her status as a serious flight risk.

    Judge Nathan said Maxwell poses a serious flight risk due to her wealth and holding citizenship in more than one country.

    “The Court … finds that the Defendant’s proposed bail conditions would not reasonably assure her appearance at future proceedings. The Court concludes that none of the new information that the Defendant presented in support of her application has a material bearing on the Court’s determination that she poses a flight risk,” Nathan wrote in the ruling.

    Maxwell, 58, is in a federal lockup in Brooklyn awaiting a July trial on charges that she recruited three teenage girls in the 1990s for Epstein to sexually abuse.

    She has pleaded not guilty. Epstein killed himself in a Manhattan federal jail in August 2019 as he awaited trial on sex trafficking charges.

    Iowa’s General Assembly on Wednesday approved a bill that would let residents carry and purchase guns without a permit.

    House File 756 passed 60–37, with all Republicans voting for it, along with Democrat state Rep. Wes Breckenridge.

    The bill was immediately messaged to the state Senate, where Republicans have a majority and previously passed a similar piece of legislation through a committee.

    Iowans currently have to get a permit to buy a handgun, regardless of whether the sale is private.

    Under the legislation, that requirement would be annulled. Individuals would still have to follow federal law and go through an instant background check to buy from licensed sellers each time they purchase a gun. They could choose to get a permit instead, which is issued by sheriff departments and is good for five years.

    The officials say the restrictions are seen as an unofficial “gag order” and are often referred to that way among colleagues. The officials requested anonymity because they are not authorized to speak to the media about the topic.
