Reader’s Links for March 17, 2021

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

No idea if this has been posted before and my apologies if it has:
Disqus has closed down comments on both The Geller Report, and Frontpage thanks to the unholy SPLC ranking them as racist. Now both sites have the occasional rabid lunatic like all sites but both were a serious site for opinion and topical comment and this is an outrageous action by Disqus who fully deserve to be trashed. The SPLC ? Well, we all know that it is the “legal” arm of antifa/blm and their unholy brigades What I think should be done there is best not to say.
The screws are slowly increasing their tightening and despite the rhetoric I see NO concerted fighting back on any front and as Richard knows it is very close to the point where only the shedding of blood will make a difference. I cannot see this happening as middle America is far too comfortable still and by the time they are not the new armed antifa/blm SA will man the streets.

    • Remember a successful revolution needs One Third of the population supporting the revolution but only needs about 3 to 5% doing the actual fighting.

Also don’t go by what you see in the media, at this point people are not talking to people they don’t know. Instead look at the State Legislatures who are declaring their States 2A Sanctuary States. Look at the ones who are suing the Federal Government for it’s illegal and unconstitutional actions. These are the people talking through their State and at times County Government. Those states are the places where the Counter Revolution will start. They are the locations where the people still have the sense pf patriotism and service that saved freedom in the 20th Century.

Another think, don’t fall for the idea of the Red States seceding and forming a new nation. This is 1) doing the lefts bidding of destroying the US and 2) laying us open for a foreign invasion. Although I think our foreign enemies are going to be busy in their own neighborhoods for several years (for the most part) giving us time to sort out or mess and get read for the Foreign Enemies that are helping foment this mess.

  2. Everything old is new again. If you don’t see it by now you never will. The fraud, lies, graft, cons and all around nonsense demonstrated by the our current time is nowhere more distilled than in our money. How appropriate that the biggest of lies lay in our medium of exchange. Come to think of it, this term “…medium of exchange…” perfectly applies to language, too, and as our neo-Marxist pheonix rises it misses not a single step as an ever-counterfitted weapon of deceit.

      • Don’t know, but if the chatter in the financial markets is correct we have far less time before an insolvency tsunami hits.

        • Once the Tsunami hits the shooting won’t be far behind, China will try to seize assets they can use to stave off total collapse and the other nations will fight back.

I don’t know what Turkey and Iran will do but it won’t be pretty.

  3. From David Warren who, it seems, is recovering from heart surgery:

    Repeat after me
Here is a fun fact for gentle reader. Without “fossil fuels,” Canada would be uninhabitable.

This is not a “rhetorical” assertion. The human body cannot endure, below a certain temperature. It varies between individuals, but when it stays below freezing for an extended period, the depopulation becomes universal. True, winter coats can help to delay the inevitable.

And true, our Indians and Eskimos could live here, in very small numbers, with wood fires and other technology of that sort; and bully for them. But thanks to coal, oil, and natural gas, there are probably more of them today than when the white man (boo! boo!) arrived. You see, even in Iqaluit they are now living in heated buildings.

Well, I am on record speculating that God put the polar bears here for a reason: to warn migrants off. And then he gave us Justin Trudeau, in case anyone hadn’t got the message yet.

But He also put extraordinary quantities of “fossil fuels” under the ground, in case we insisted. And we could all pray, that Justin Trudeau’s hair will fall out. When he looks in the mirror, his narcissism will take such a hit, that he will retire from politics and go into hiding. (I owe this suggestion to a gentleman from Nebraska.)

My Chief Texas Correspondent, who likes Canada for some perverse reason, quotes a piece by David Yager that he found somewhere:

“In the past twenty years, millions of Canadians have chosen to mentally leave Canada and relocate their minds to a fantasy northern country that can somehow wrestle the global climate change monster to the ground singlehandedly. This will be accomplished by a genius combination of virtue signalling, carbon taxes, renewable energy subsidies, expanded government, important conferences, passionate retelling of the enormity of the challenge, and ensuring that pension funds, mutual funds, and universities don’t own shares in fossil fuel companies.”

Down Stateside, a new president is taking a deep draught of this “climate change” kool-aid. Granted, it is usually warmer there, and people may survive in states like Texas. But let me guess they won’t be driving electric cars.

For it is a little-known fact — among progressive environmentalists and urban-dwellers generally — that batteries do not generate power. They have to be loaded, as it were, and after huge government subsidies, the solar generation of power has yet to reach one percent. There is hydro, but we’ve dammed everything already, except our toilets. There is clean, improved nuclear, but progressives are too superstitious to touch it. The amount of nuclear waste is already far exceeded by the landfill of solar panels, which contain a witch’s brew of rare, poisonous chemicals, and need replacement every few years.

In order to make these “sparky cars” move, we must generate huge amounts of electric power — overwhelmingly from coal, oil, and natural gas. And this is less efficient than using “fossil fuels” directly. Net of transmission losses, we will have to burn a lot more.

High-tech windmills also increasingly scar the countryside, killing off our bats and birds at an unconscionable rate, while generating landfill on the solar scale for a power supply that falls to zero when the wind isn’t blowing.

Perhaps I have overused the term, “batshit insane.” I need to research some elegant variations.

And did you know, that carbon dioxide is an essential constituent of our planet’s atmosphere? It is at historical lows, if we consider the long history of this planet before yesterday: a fraction of what it was in prehistoric times when the world filled with life. The Amazon rainforests need it to grow. Ditto for other plant life. We hose it into greenhouses to make our tomatoes grow bigger and faster.

One could know these things; or think that soymilk and quinoa grow under the pavement out behind the brightly-lit Whole Foods supermarket, while we are guzzling our fair-trade Starbucks. Good luck to the people who are “following the science” to the latter conclusion, and have forgotten to factor in the petrochemical styrofoam and shrink-wrap.

The sad thing is that these virtue-signallers are numerous in cities, and most of them ha

    • The search for warmth was one of the first origins of the west WRT technology as until then wood, and animal dung had been sufficient for cook fires. Pushing into the colder climates toughened man and the discovery that peat and coal burn began technology. The last ice age must have had a dramatic effect upon human awareness.
The BBC has a series called “The Terror” which I have not seen but it apparently gives an idea of how hard it can be to survive in far north Canada as they searched for the NW passage. IIRC a nuclear sub was the only one to traverse that but I have not checked. To me Canada was BC and the Burgess shales never managed to meet the east as the US side of Niagara falls was as close as we came : (

      • There have been some Ice Breakers that have managed to pass through the North West Passage but I don’t think this happened in winter.

“And after that time, there wasn’t any fruit from the root that is our salvation.”

He goes on to say that when he was in seventh grade he attended a youth group and a speaker was discussing the biblical story of the prodigal son.

This article and others like it are saying that people are exiting New York entirely because of the COVID-19 restrictions, which is doubtless partially true but not entirely in my opinion. What would really scare out of New York is the huge crowds of angry black people marching down the street and chanting their hatred of and their malicious false accusations against white people, who they obviously despise beyond all else. The hatred and rage in their black faces is truly frightening and there is nowhere in the city where you couldn’t be cornered by angry blacks and sent to the hospital or killed – and it’s against the law to arm yourself there. That would scare me. You could just go out to get a quart of milk and meet ten of them on the way and never come home again. That’s why I think New Yorkers are flocking to Florida. There is no way to deny that many thousands of Black New Yorkers have an anti-white hatred level that’s beyond acceptable and frankly, I’d be nervous about walking out my door there. And who wants to get sucker-punched or shoved in front of a subway train just because some bigot hates your race…?

In politically charged times we have to watch carefully to ensure that the kinetic action isn’t touched off by a mistake like this visit. The blame starts with the Sec of Defense and works down from there. Will any of the leaders (civilian and military) that failed be punished for their failure? Not unless the scandal gets big enough the Top Brass decide to sacrifice an Captain or and LT.

Effort to politicize Guam Guard falls flat when Guardsmen, Marjorie Taylor Greene staff show grace and class

Rep. San Nicolas and the Guam National Guard visit Marjorie Taylor Greene’s office. San Nicolas video via The Hill, Twitter

The trigger I pulled when I first saw this is one I would pull again, because it’s the point and the point won’t change.

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin needs to step in and get his uniformed personnel out of the line of political fire. Frankly, General Mark Milley, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, should be urging just that on him. If Austin can’t get that done, he should move on.

Trending: Trump-Georgia ‘find the fraud’ phone call, used as impeachment evidence, has been debunked

We’ve already seen a four-star general (the commander of Army Training and Doctrine Command), a three-star general (commander of the II Marine Expeditionary Force, through his public information Twitter account), and a command senior enlisted leader (the CSEL at U.S. Space Command) wade into the political war with Tucker Carlson. Obviously, based on these developments, that level of leadership is too low to be trustworthy as regards keeping the uniform out of politics.

But where are Austin and Milley? Austin is the one who can shut this train wreck down. Milley should be advising him to.

Here’s the packaged info zapper that tripped the trigger.

Someone – presumably Guamanian congressman Michael San Nicolas – depicted a visit of Guam’s National Guard soldiers to Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) as a sort of “gotcha” mission after she “falsely called the U.S. territory a foreign land.”

Report: U.S. Army weighs ending ‘gender-neutral physical test’ because of gender gap

    Image: U.S. Army/Capt. Mark Scott

    By K. Walker

It looks like G.I. Jane can’t quite keep up with G.I. Joe.

The Army Combat Fitness Test (ACFT), which became the official standard for that branch of the military in October 2020, was supposed to be “age-blind and gender-blind” and was developed to reduce injuries and prepare soldiers for the rigors of combat. Instead, it has unintentionally yielded significant gender disparities in the pass/fail rate. While 90% of men pass the test, 65% of women are failing it. (RELATED: Ibram X. Kendi’s ‘How to Be an Antiracist’ now recommended reading for U.S. Navy)

Oh. So what they’re saying is that when there is one fitness standard, most males can achieve it but most females can’t. Interesting. Someone should mention that this is precisely why competitive sports are in two gender categories, if that’s of any interest to anyone.

Things are getting complicated with the AstraZeneca vaccine in Europe.

Despite the World Health Organization saying it’s fine to use, 11 European countries – including Germany, France, Italy and Spain – have temporarily suspended use of the vaccine.

Vaccine safety experts from the WHO are meeting on Tuesday to review the Oxford-AstraZeneca jab.

Jeremy Brown, who is advising the UK government on its vaccine strategy, said the link between AstraZeneca’s vaccine and the clots appears to be ‘spurious’, and added that their actions will cause problems globally by casting doubt on what is an ‘incredibly safe [and] very effective’ jab.

And in an astonishing broadside aimed at Britain she warned the bloc may restrict vaccine shipments to countries whose rollouts are going far better than its own.

Her explosive comments come despite several EU nations pulling the plug on the very same jab earlier this week, citing fears over blood clots.

Experts have blasted the claims and insisted it’s perfectly safe with no links to clots – and the rollout will continue as planned.

        {snip}
The rabbi is the ultimate bulwark for religious Jews. When the truth is unclear, the rabbi is supposed to show us the light. When we are unsure, the rabbi is supposed to give us confidence.

Can it be that so many rabbis, including many prominent rabbis, would get it wrong when the stakes are so high? How could such a thing even be possible?

The answer to the first question is, yes, without a doubt. It’s happened before, and the results were catastrophic. Here are just a few examples.…

The vast majority of the “leading rabbis” of Europe urged the Jews to remain there. America was an impure place, Israel was the last place a Jew should go, and everything would be fine if they stayed behind. That didn’t turn out too well. These “leading rabbis” led their followers to their doom.

Even one with a basic knowledge of Jewish history will be able to add many more examples. The bottom line is that even “leading rabbis” can be terribly wrong, and the average person is responsible to recognize this, uncomfortable as that may be.

The answer to the second question is that there are many ways rabbis can be wrong….

Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab has warned the EU not to block coronavirus vaccine exports after a threat from European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen.

He told reporters: “I think it takes some explaining, because the world’s watching. We’ve, all of us, including with our European friends, been saying throughout the pandemic that you’d be wrong to curtail or interfere with lawfully-contracted supply. We all said it last year on PPE. We’ve been saying it this year, on vaccines and other things.

“It also cuts across the direct assurances that we had from the commission and indeed, which I followed up on this week and over the last few days, with vice president Borrell and vice president president Dombrovskis, and we were reliably informed that they weren’t aware of any plans to restrict lawfully contracted supply to the UK.

“We, like our European friends, are keeping supply chains open, keeping trade and vital supplies of medical equipment and vaccines is critically important. We all been arguing for this. We expect those assurances and legally contracted supply to be respected.

“Frankly, I’m surprised we’re having this conversation. It is normally what the UK and EU team up with to reject when other countries with less democratic regimes than our own engage in that kind of brinkmanship.”

He added that there should be enough data to vaccinate “younger children in the first quarter of 2022.”

    • EU’s ‘vaccine passports’ Green Pass will only be valid with EMA-approved COVID jabs

A proposal to introduce so-called “vaccine passports”, to be put forward on March 17th to aid free movement within the bloc, will only be valid with EMA-approved vaccinations.

Why? Because the vaccinations from unapproved companies will not be covered by the EU liability clause and quality control.

Ylva Johansson, commissioner for internal affairs confirmed the details on Friday evening after an EU source had told Euronews hours earlier.

The source reported that EU justice commissioner Didier Reynders made it clear that member states were free to get their citizens vaccinated by other products, but they would not be allocated a licensed travel certificate unless their jab had been from an approved company, of which there are currently four. Pfizer/BioNtech, AstraZeneca, Moderna and Johnson&Johnson.

The duration of the digital green certificate should be limited to the end of the COVID-19 pandemic, the EU source said, adding that tests and quarantine will continue to be the enablers of free movement. Thus, vaccination does not become a pre-condition for free movement.

The Green Pass certificate will be available in digital and paper-based format.

Reynders indicated Thursday that data protection and possible discrimination remained key concerns for the European Commission working on a proposal for a COVID-19 travel certificate. But Friday’s leak shows that there is a focus on vaccination selection.

Reynders is aiming to fast-track the proposal at the European Parliament, leading to a “binding instrument” for all member states before the summer.

European Commission president Ursula von der Leyen has said it would be technically possible to develop a “green pass” within about three months using data indicating whether a person has been vaccinated, tested negative, or is immune after contracting the disease, but that many political issues must first be resolved.

The certificates could help smooth a return to air travel and possibly avoid another disastrous summer holiday season, as the tourism industry and broader economies suffer from restrictions.

Southern European countries dependent on tourism, like Greece, Spain and Portugal, support such a system, but their northern EU partners, like Germany, have reservations over whether such certificates would work.

On Wednesday, the European Commission proposed to create a Digital Green Certificate to facilitate safe free movement inside the EU during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Digital Green Certificate will serve as an assurance that a person has been vaccinated against COVID-19, received a negative test result or recovered from COVID-19. It will be available, free of charge, in digital or paper format. It will include a QR code to ensure security and authenticity of the certificate.

What is it and how does it work?
The EU’s vaccine passport – officially called Digital Green Certificate – will be free of charge, bilingual, interoperable, secure, non-discriminatory and available in digital and physical format via QR code.

Its goal will be to facilitate “safe and free movement” inside the EU during the pandemic.

The Digital Green Certificate will comprise three distinct certificates:

Vaccination certificates, stating brand of the vaccine used, data and place of inoculation and number of doses administered.
Negative test certificates (either a NAAT/RT-PCR test or a rapid antigen test). Self-tests will be excluded for the time being.
Medical certificates for people who have recovered from COVID-19 in the last 180 days.

      What about the EMA-approved stipulation?
The vaccination certificates will be based on jabs approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA). But, in a very important clarification, the Commission said that individual member states could decide whether or not they accept vaccines that EMA has not yet green-lighted. Countries like Hungary are already deploying shots from Sputnik V, from Russia, and Shinopharm from China.

“Where member states accept proof of vaccination to waive certain public health restrictions such as testing or quarantine, they would be required to accept, under the same conditions, vaccination certificates issued under the Digital Green Certificate system,” the Commission said in a statement.

“This obligation would be limited to vaccines that have received EU-wide marketing authorisation, but member states can decide to accept other vaccines in addition.”

The instrument will be valid in all EU countries and will be open for Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway as well as Switzerland. It will be issued to EU citizens and their family members, regardless of their nationality.

Additionally, non-EU nationals who reside in the bloc and visitors who have the right to travel to other member states will also be allowed to apply for the certificate.

I am fully convinced that China is the nation that arranged the Junta in Burma i am also sure that they are partially to blame for the leak of the Israeli attacks on Iranian shipping. As well as causally poking the Russian Bear in Crimea Ukraine with the exception of the areas in the Far East they aren’t openly interested in personal gain. What they want is to spread chaos and cause the nations that are opposing their conquest of the Far East as much trouble as they can so the Chinese Empire can spread further around the Far East.

  25. DAILY MAIL – Denmark will limit the number of ‘non-Western’ residents in neighbourhoods to 30% to ‘reduce the risk of religious and cultural parallel societies’

The Social Democratic government made the announcement on Wednesday

Each neighbourhood will be limited to a maximum of 30 percent within 10 years if the legislation passes, which it is expected to, after being discussed by parties

Data shows 11 percent of Denmark’s 5.8 million inhabitants are of foreign origin

Of this group, 58 percent are from a country considered ‘non-Western’

Denmark has for years had one of Europe’s most restrictive immigration policies

    ——————————–

Denmark will limit the number of ‘non-Western’ residents in neighbourhoods to up to 30 percent to ‘reduce the risk of religious and cultural parallel societies’.

The Social Democratic government made the announcement on Wednesday, and scrapped the controversial term ‘ghetto’ in its proposed legislation when referring to the country’s ‘disadvantaged neighbourhoods’.

In the bill – a review of existing legislation on combating parallel societies – the interior ministry proposed that the share of residents of ‘non-Western’ origin in each neighbourhood be limited to a maximum of 30 percent within 10 years.

Denmark has for years had one of Europe’s most restrictive immigration policies, which Social Democratic Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen has continued since coming to power in June 2019 amid growing opposition from the right.

According to Interior Minister Kaare Dybvad Bek, too many non-Western foreigners in one area ‘increases the risk of an emergence of religious and cultural parallel societies,’ he said in a statement.

He said however that the term ‘ghetto’, used to designate disadvantaged neighbourhoods, would be removed from the new legislation.

‘The term ghetto is misleading… I think it contributes to eclipsing the large amount of work that needs doing in these neighbourhoods,’ he said.

Until now, the term was used legally to designate any neighbourhood of more than 1,000 people where more than half were of ‘non-Western’ origin, and which met at least two of four criteria.

The four criteria are: more than 40 percent of residents are unemployed; more than 60 percent of 39-50 year-olds do not have an upper secondary education; crime rates three times higher than the national average; residents have a gross income 55 percent lower than the regional average.

Fifteen Danish neighbourhoods currently fall into this category and 25 others are considered ‘at risk’. The list is updated each December.

California pushes the worship of cannibalism and human sacrifice on American children.

The collapse of the American Republic is now imminent.

California is soon expected to pass a new statewide “ethnic studies” curriculum that has as its goal the total “decolonization” of American society. It elevates the cannibalistic Aztec religious symbolism across 10,000 public schools that serve 6 million students.

The architect behind this movement is R. Tolteka Cuauhtin, the original co-chair of the Ethnic Studies Model Curriculum. In his book Rethinking Ethnic Studies, cited throughout the curriculum, Cuauhtin argues that the United States is a white supremacist, patriarchal, misogynistic and anthropocentric state founded as a Eurocentric “land grabbing” genocidal state that committed “theocide” against indigenous tribes. In Cuauhtin’s narrative, the U.S. killed these tribes’ gods and replaced them with Christianity. The evil settlers established a regime of “coloniality,” dehumanization and genocide which resulted in the total erasure of holistic indigeneity and humanity.

One of the more recent threats concerns Santiago de Compostela, a Christian shrine in Galicia, in the furthest northwest of the peninsula. 35. Michigan Judge Rules State Secretary’s Ballot Signature-Matching Guidance Invalid
    By Li Hai
    March 17, 2021 Updated: March 17, 2021
    biggersmaller Print

A Michigan judge ruled last week that Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson’s last October guidance relating to ballot signature verification was not in compliance with the law and thus it’s invalid.

Michigan Republican Party and Allegan County clerk Robert Genetski filed the lawsuit on Nov. 2, 2020, against Benson and Jonathan Brater, director of the Michigan Bureau of Elections.

The plaintiffs claimed that the guidance Benson issued last October violated the Administrative Procedures Act (APA) and should be nullified. They also asked the court to declare that they have the right to request an audit of their choosing, saying the state-wide audit in November did not review whether signatures were properly evaluated.

On Oct. 6, 2020, Benson issued guidance titled “Absent Voter Ballot Processing: Signature Verification and Voter Notification Standards.”

The guidance stated that clerks “must perform their signature verification duties with the presumption that the voter’s application or envelope signature is his or her genuine signature.”

  36. “Xi Jinping Will Not Stop until He Is Stopped”: A Conversation with Gordon G. Chang
    Grégoire Canlorbe
    7-9 minutes

Gordon G. Chang. (Image source: Gage Skidmore/Flickr)

Canlorbe: Welcome, Mr. Chang. How do you assess the situation of the new communist giant, namely Xi Jinping’s China?

Chang: Xi Jinping now has, in President Biden, the American leader he has always wanted. Biden with his executive orders and other actions has so far given China many gifts and has asked for nothing in return. Among these unilateral concessions are his lifting a ban on Chinese electrical equipment, postponing rules against investments in China’s military-linked companies, rejoining the Beijing-dominated World Health Organization, and delaying prohibitions on Chinese apps.

As a result of receiving so many free gifts from Biden, Xi seems more arrogant and is demanding even more.

We see Xi’s new demands in his intransigent position going into Thursday’s meeting in Anchorage. China’s top diplomat, Yang Jiechi, and his subordinate, Foreign Minister Wang Yi, look as if they are going to Alaska not to engage in meaningful discussion, but to lecture U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan and to dictate the terms of the relationship going forward. Beijing has brought “arrogance” to a whole new level.
