Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.
This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

Nigerian President Slams CNN, BBC for Their Coverage of Anti-Police Rallies in Country
https://sputniknews.com/africa/202012101081415257-nigerian-president-slams-cnn-bbc-for-their-coverage-of-anti-police-rallies-in-country/
“The #EndSARS riots in Nigeria ignited after numerous claims implicated the country’s Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) police unit in acts of killings, torture and blackmail. The department was disbanded by the government and replaced with the Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT) squad, but the protests in the country continue.
Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has denounced the coverage of protests against police brutality across the West African nation by foreign media outlets, in particular, the CNN and BBC broadcasters.
“It must be said that foreign press coverage of the ENDSARS violence was not balanced, especially from CNN and BBC. I was disgusted by the coverage, which did not give attention to the policemen that were killed, the stations that were burnt, and prisons that were opened,” Buhari tweeted late on Wednesday.
In particular, last month the Nigerian authorities threatened to impose sanctions on the CNN broadcaster over its report on the alleged shooting of protesters at the Lekki Toll plaza in the city of Lagos, which implied a different version of the story than that of the government.
The latter insisted that shots fired by the army and police were not targeted at people but the air, while eyewitnesses interviewed by CNN claimed the opposite, saying the shooting was “a massacre.””
‘Under the rug:’ Sexual misconduct shakes FBI’s senior ranks (abcnews, Dec 10, 2020)
https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/wireStory/rug-sexual-misconduct-shakes-fbis-senior-ranks-74642558
“An assistant FBI director retired after he was accused of drunkenly groping a female subordinate in a stairwell. Another senior FBI official left after he was found to have sexually harassed eight employees. Yet another high-ranking FBI agent retired after he was accused of blackmailing a young employee into sexual encounters.
An Associated Press investigation has identified at least six sexual misconduct allegations involving senior FBI officials over the past five years, including two new claims brought this week by women who say they were sexually assaulted by ranking agents.
Each of the accused FBI officials appears to have avoided discipline, the AP found, and several were quietly transferred or retired, keeping their full pensions and benefits even when probes substantiated the sexual misconduct claims against them.
Beyond that, federal law enforcement officials are afforded anonymity even after the disciplinary process runs its course, allowing them to land on their feet in the private sector or even remain in law enforcement.
“They’re sweeping it under the rug,” said a former FBI analyst who alleges in a new federal lawsuit that a supervisory special agent licked her face and groped her at a colleague’s farewell party in 2017. She ended up leaving the FBI and has been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder.
“As the premier law enforcement organization that the FBI holds itself out to be, it’s very disheartening when they allow people they know are criminals to retire and pursue careers in law enforcement-related fields,” said the woman, who asked to be identified in this story only by her first name, Becky.
The AP’s count does not include the growing number of high-level FBI supervisors who have failed to report romantic relationships with subordinates in recent years — a pattern that has alarmed investigators with the Office of Inspector General and raised questions about bureau policy.
The recurring sexual misconduct has drawn the attention of Congress and advocacy groups, which have called for whistleblower protections for rank-and-file FBI employees and for an outside entity to review the bureau’s disciplinary cases.
“They need a #MeToo moment,” said U.S. Rep. Jackie Speier, a California Democrat who has been critical of the treatment of women in the male-dominated FBI.
“It’s repugnant, and it underscores the fact that the FBI and many of our institutions are still good ol’-boy networks,” Speier said. “It doesn’t surprise me that, in terms of sexual assault and sexual harassment, they are still in the Dark Ages.”
In a statement, the FBI said it “maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward sexual harassment” and that claims against supervisors have resulted in them being removed from their positions while cases are investigated and adjudicated.
It added that severe cases can result in criminal charges and that the FBI’s internal disciplinary process assesses, among other factors, “the credibility of the allegations, the severity of the conduct, and the rank and position of the individuals involved.”
The AP review of court records, Office of Inspector General reports and interviews with federal law enforcement officials identified at least six allegations against senior officials, including an assistant director and special agents in charge of entire field offices, that ranged from unwanted touching and sexual advances to coercion.
None appears to have been disciplined, but another sexual misconduct allegation identified in the AP review of a rank-and-file agent resulted in him losing his security clearance.
The FBI, with more than 35,000 employees, keeps a notoriously tight lid on such allegations. The last time the Office of Inspector General did an extensive probe of sexual misconduct within the FBI, it tallied 343 “offenses” from fiscal years 2009 to 2012, including three instances of “videotaping undressed women without consent.”
The latest claims come months after a 17th woman joined a federal lawsuit alleging systemic sexual harassment at the FBI’s training academy in Quantico, Virginia. That class-action case claims male FBI instructors made “sexually charged” comments about women needing to “take their birth control to control their moods,” inviting women trainees over to their homes and openly disparaging them.
In one of the new lawsuits filed Wednesday, a former FBI employee identified only as “Jane Doe” alleged a special agent in charge in 2016 retired without discipline and opened a law firm even after he “imprisoned, tortured, harassed, blackmailed, stalked and manipulated” her into having several “non-consensual sexual encounters,” including one in which he forced himself on her in a car. The AP is withholding the name and location of the accused special agent to protect the woman’s identity.
“It is the policy and practice of the FBI and its OIG to allow senior executives accused of sexual assault to quietly retire with full benefits without prosecution,” the woman’s attorney, David J. Shaffer, alleges in the lawsuit.
One such case involved Roger C. Stanton, who before his abrupt retirement served as assistant director of the Insider Threat Office, a division at Washington headquarters tasked with rooting out leakers and safeguarding national security information.
According to an Inspector General’s report concluded this year and obtained by AP through a public records request, Stanton was accused of drunkenly driving a female subordinate home following an after-work happy hour. The woman told investigators that once inside a stairwell of her apartment building, Stanton wrapped his arm around her waist and “moved his hand down onto her bottom” before she was able to get away and hustle up the stairs.
After Stanton left, he called the woman 15 times on her FBI phone and sent her what investigators described as “garbled text” complaining that he could not find his vehicle. The heavily redacted report does not say when the incident happened.
Stanton disputed the woman’s account and told investigators he “did not intend to do anything” and only placed his arm around her because of the “narrowness” of the stairs. But Stanton acknowledged he was “very embarrassed by this event” and “assistant directors should not be putting themselves in these situations.”
Stanton retired in late 2018 after the investigation determined he sexually harassed the woman and sought an improper relationship. He did not respond to requests for comment from AP.
Earlier this year, the Inspector General found that the special agent in charge of the Albany, New York, office, James N. Hendricks, sexually harassed eight subordinates at the FBI.
Hendricks also was not named in the OIG report despite its findings. He was first identified in September by the Albany Times Union. One current and one former colleague of Hendricks confirmed his role in the case to AP.
Hendricks now writes a law enforcement blog in which he touts his FBI accolades but makes no mention of the misconduct allegations. He did not respond to requests for comment.
Becky, the former analyst, told AP she once believed FBI’s “organizational values and mission aligned with how I was raised.” But she was disabused of that notion after reporting to management that Charles Dick, a supervisory special agent at the FBI Training Academy at the time, sexually assaulted her at a farewell party.
Becky told AP her assailant had threatened her at least two times before. “Once while we were waiting for the director he said, ‘I’m going to touch your ass. You know it’s going to happen.’”
“His boorish behavior was well known,” she added. “He was getting away with everything.”
In a federal lawsuit filed Wednesday, Becky accused the former agent of wrapping his arm around her chest while posing for a photograph and “reaching under her and simulating” penetration of her “with his fingers through her jeans.”
Dick denied the charges and was acquitted in state court in Virginia by a judge who ruled it “wholly incredible” that Becky would “stand there and take it and not say anything,” according to a transcript of the proceeding. Dick retired from the FBI months before the Inspector General followed up on Becky’s internal complaint, Becky alleged in her lawsuit, adding she faced retaliation for coming forward.
“It’s much easier to suffer in isolation than it is to go public,” she told AP. “But if I don’t report it, I’m complicit in the cultural and institutionalized cover-up of this sort of behavior.””

Pakistan says 2 troops killed by Indian fire in Kashmir (abcnews, Dec 10, 2020)
https://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/pakistan-troops-killed-indian-fire-kashmir-74642555
“Pakistan’s military said Thursday that two soldiers were killed by Indian fire in Kashmir overnight, with each side blaming the other for the latest violence in the disputed Himalayan region.
Maj. Gen. Babar Iftikhar tweeted that Indian troops opened fire and Pakistan “responded befittingly.”
Lt. Col. Devender Anand, an Indian army spokesman, said Pakistan initiated the fighting by firing bullets and mortar shells along the Line of Control that separates the two sides. India did not report any casualties.
The two nuclear-armed neighbors routinely accuse each other of unprovoked attacks in violation of a 2003 cease-fire agreement along the highly militarized Line of Control.
Kashmir is split between the two countries and both claim it in its entirety. India and Pakistan have fought two wars over Kashmir since their independence from British rule in 1947.”
Iran, Afghanistan open first rail link with eye on trade (abcnews, Dec 10, 2020)
https://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/iran-afghanistan-open-rail-link-eye-trade-74643240
“The leaders of Iran and Afghanistan on Thursday inaugurated the first railway link between the two countries, expressing hope it would enhance trade links across the region.
The 140-kilometer (90-mile) line running from eastern Iran into western Afghanistan will eventually be expanded by 85 kilometers to reach the Afghan city of Herat, providing a crucial transport link for the landlocked country, where decades of war have hindered infrastructure development.
The $75 million project began in 2007, with Iran funding construction on both sides of the border as part of its development assistance to Afghanistan.
Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani, speaking in a video conference, called it “one of the historic days” in relations between the two countries. He said Iran had succeeded in building the line despite sanctions imposed by the Trump administration after the U.S. withdrew from Iran’s 2015 nuclear agreement with world powers.
Afghan President Ashraf Ghani called the railroad a “precious gift from Iran” that would help restore the Silk Road, an ancient trade route that spread prosperity across Asia. The inauguration saw cargo trains depart from opposite ends of the line.
Iran hopes to transform itself into a regional transport hub, allowing Afghanistan and other landlocked Asian countries to transport goods to its ports on the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. Iran already has rail links with Turkmenistan, Pakistan and Turkey.”
Gunmen kill female TV anchor in eastern Afghanistan (abcnews, Dec 10, 2020)

“Gunmen shot and killed a female TV anchor in eastern Afghanistan early Thursday, officials said.
The attackers opened fire on Malala Maiwand’s car soon after she left her house in the eastern Nangarhar province, said Attaullah Khogyani, a spokesman for the governor.
No one has claimed responsibility, but an Islamic State affiliate is headquartered in eastern Afghanistan and has claimed most of the recent attacks on civilians in Afghanistan. The Taliban also operate in the area.
In addition to working as a TV and radio presenter, Maiwand was also an activist who advocated for the rights of Afghan women and children.
Two Afghan journalists were killed in separate bombings in Afghanistan last month. The international press freedom group Reporters Without Borders has called Afghanistan one of the world’s deadliest countries for journalists.”
Ukrainian Job Agency Accused of Abusing Swedish Migration System With Fake Asylum Claims (breitbart, Dec 10, 2020)
https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2020/12/10/ukrainian-job-agency-accused-of-abusing-swedish-migration-system-with-fake-asylum-claims/
“A Ukrainian job agency has been accused of abusing the Swedish asylum system by selling false asylum reports to help its customers get the right to work in Sweden.
The Pelekh Agency is said to have provided access to jobs to Ukrainian nationals by selling “asylum stories” that customers would give at a Swedish migration board office and then would be eligible to work in the country while their claim was being processed.
A man named Nasarji, who claims to have been a client of the agency, told broadcaster Sveriges Radio, “They told me to say I was seeking asylum and I got a story that I would tell the Migration Agency.”
The broadcaster found that clients of the agency would pay around 12,000 Swedish Krona (£1,060/$1416) to get a job in Sweden but soon found they were taken to a migration board office and told to apply for asylum.
An office in Ukraine openly admitted the deal to a journalist from the broadcaster, who posed as a Ukrainian looking for work.
“You will get an asylum report that you will learn by heart and tell the Swedish Migration Board. But with 99 per cent certainty, you won’t get asylum, but while your case is being investigated, you get permission to work, that’s how it’s done,” a woman at the agency said.
The Migration Board has also become aware of the agency’s activities and has filed reports with the police. Pelekh Agency, meanwhile, declined to officially speak with the broadcaster.
While Sweden has not seen the same level of immigration since the height of the migrant crisis in 2015, the country still sees tens of thousands of new migrants, many of them asylum seekers, every year.
Over the past decade, Sweden has granted over a million residency permits and mass migration has been the primary driver of population growth in the country with as many as one-fifth of Sweden;’s residents were born overseas.”

New York Assembly quietly introduces bill (on Dec 4/20) mandating COVID-19 vaccine.
“With two COVID-19 vaccines pending approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), employer-mandated COVID-19 vaccination policies are a hot topic at the employment law water cooler these days. While there is currently no concrete guidance on this issue at the federal, state, or city level, on December 4, New York State lawmakers introduced a bill that could have a substantial impact on such policies.
Specifically, State Assembly Bill A11179 would mandate the vaccination of all individuals or groups of individuals who, as shown by clinical data, are proven to be safe to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. This mandate would only take effect, however, after a vaccine is approved and its promotion and distributions plans have commenced, and if public health officials determine that residents of the state are not developing sufficient immunity from COVID”

Azerbaijan: Nagorno-Karabakh conflict not over – Erdogan
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan doesn’t consider the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict to be over as he stated during his speech during a military parade in Baku, on Thursday.
“The fact that Azerbaijan saved their territory from occupation does never mean that the struggle is over. The struggle which has been carried out in political and military arenas so far will now continue in various different fronts”, he mentioned.
Turkish leader went on to say that if Armenia hadn’t spent it’s “sources of their people on meaningless defence lines, weapons and the personal ambitions of Armenian decision-makers, the situation today would have been much different”.
“We wish for the Armenian people to rid itself of the burden of leaders who console them with the lies of the past and trap them into poverty,” he said.
On his part, the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev highly appreciated support from Turkey in Nagorno-Karabakh conflict: “By participating together in the Victory Parade, we once again show our unity not only to our peoples but to the whole world,” he said.
Aliyev stated that military parade showed to the whole world that “Nagorno-Karabakh is an integral part of Azerbaijan from the point of view of international law.”
After more than six weeks of hostilities, Armenia and Azerbaijan signed a Russian-brokered deal to end the fighting in Nagorno-Karabakh on November 9.
Ankara has been a major supporter of Azerbaijan and its President Ilham Aliyev during the conflict.
SOT, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Turkish President (Turkish): “Turkey fully supports Azerbaijan’s struggle from the very beginning with all its institutions and foundations and stood with their Azerbaijani brothers with all means. As Turkey, we were always guided by great leader Haidar Aliyev’s “two states, one nation” motto when it comes to our relationship with Azerbaijan. With [1st President of Turkey] Mustafa Kemal Ataturk’s words, “We considered Azerbaijan’s sorrows as our own sorrow and Azerbaijan’s joy as our own joy.” In accordance with this, Karabakh was an open wound in our bosom for thirty years and we are here today with you to celebrate the healing of this wound and to celebrate this glorious victory. The fact that Azerbaijan saved their territory from occupation does never mean that the struggle is over. The struggle which has been carried out in political and military arenas so far will now continue in various different fronts.” *MULTIPLE SHOTS AT SOURCE* *LOOSE TRANSLATION*
SOT, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Turkish President (Turkish): “Those who don’t bring anything other than the destruction, massacre and tears to Karabakh must now get a hold of themselves. Armenian politicians spent the sources of their people in order to keep holding Azeri soil under occupation. If these sources were not spent on meaningless defence lines, on weapons, on the personal ambitions of Armenian decision-makers, whose eyes are covered with blood and grudge, the situation today would have been much different.” *MULTIPLE SHOTS AT SOURCE* *LOOSE TRANSLATION*
SOT, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Turkish President (Turkish): “We wish for the Armenian people to rid itself of the burden of leaders who console them with the lies of the past and trap them into poverty. It must be seen that it is not possible to go anywhere with the encouragement of Western imperialists. The relationships should be re-considered based on being good neighbours rather than hostility. If Armenian people take a lesson from what happened in Karabakh, this will be the start of a new era in the region.” *MULTIPLE SHOTS AT SOURCE* *LOOSE TRANSLATION*
SOT, Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijani President (Azerbaijani): “Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan since the beginning expressed support for the right thing of Azerbaijan. Their open, unambiguous and forceful statements pleased the Azerbaijani nation. Kary Mullis on Fauci
This is Kary Mullis, quite a number of years ago, judging by his age when he died in August, 2019 — he was much older than he is in this video. Kary Mullis INVENTED the PCR technology that is currently FRAUDULENTLY being used to diagnose all these “cases” of COVID-19. Mullis always said the PCR technology is a RESEARCH TOOL, and should NEVER be used to diagnose any disease in a human.
He worked with and for Dr. Tony Fauci and knew quite well what he was — and what he was NOT.
How convenient that Kary Mullis died in September of 2019, immediately before COVID-19 and PCR tests for it showed up. I’m pretty sure if he was still with us he’d be SCREAMING.
“Guys like Fauci get up there and start talking, you know, he doesn’t know anything, really, about anything and I’d say that to his face. Nothing. The man thinks you could take a blood sample and stick it in an electron microscope and if it’s got a virus in there, you’ll know it. He doesn’t understand electron microscopy and he doesn’t understand medicine, he should not be in a position like he’s in. Most of those guys up there on the top are just total administrative people and they don’t know anything about what’s going on at the bottom. You know, those guys have got an agenda, which is not what we would like them to have, being that we pay for them to take care of our health in some way. They’ve got a personal kind of agenda, they make up their own rules as they go, they change them when they want to and they smugly, like Tony Fauci, does not mind going on television in front of the people who pay his salary and lie directly into the camera.”
Thank you Martin, I followed Kary Mullis’s words for years. Too bad more people did not listen to him when he was alive.
Old guard stifle the young to keep up their “superior” fraud. Climate scientist are also hushed, the real climate scientists.

zero hedge – Melinda Gates Admits “We Hadn’t Really Thought Through the Economic Impacts”
Authored by Jeffrey Tucker via The American Institute for Economic Research,
In a wide-ranging interview in the New York Times, Melinda Gates made the following remarkable statement:
“What did surprise us is we hadn’t really thought through the economic impacts.”
A cynic might observe that one is disinclined to think much about matters than do not affect one personally.
It’s a maddening statement, to be sure, as if “economics” is somehow a peripheral concern to the rest of human life and public health. The larger context of the interview reveals the statement to be even more confused. She is somehow under the impression that it is the pandemic and not the lockdowns that are the cause of the economic devastation that includes perhaps 30% of restaurants going under, among many other terrible effects.
She doesn’t say that outright but, like many articles in the mainstream press over this year, she very carefully crafts her words to avoid the crucial subject of lockdowns as the primary cause of economic disaster. It’s possible that she actually believes this virus is what tanked the world economy on its own but that is a completely unsustainable proposition.
Further, her comments provide a perfect illustration of the core problem all along: most of the people who have been advocating lockdowns in fact have no actual experience in managing pandemics. To many of these, Covid-19 became their new playground to try out an unprecedented experiment in social and economic management: shutting down travel, businesses, schools, churches, and issuing stay-at-home orders that smack of totalitarian impositions.
Here is what she says:
You can project out and think about what a pandemic might be like or look like, but until you live through it, it’s pretty hard to know what the reality will be like. So I think we predicted quite well that, depending on what the disease was, it could spread very, very, very quickly. The spread did not surprise us.
What did surprise us is we hadn’t really thought through the economic impacts. What happens when you have a pandemic that’s running rampant in populations all over the world? The fact that we would all be home, and working from home if we were lucky enough to do that. That was a piece that I think we hadn’t really prepared for.
There are plenty of specialists who have lived through pandemics in the past and managed them by maintaining essential social and economic functioning. A major case in point is Donald A. Henderson, who as head of the World Health Organization is given primary credit for the eradication of smallpox. He wrote as follows in 2006:
Experience has shown that communities faced with epidemics or other adverse events respond best and with the least anxiety when the normal social functioning of the community is least disrupted. Strong political and public health leadership to provide reassurance and to ensure that needed medical care services are provided are critical elements. If either is seen to be less than optimal, a manageable epidemic could move toward catastrophe.
Melinda together with her husband Bill have been the major funding source for pro-lockdown efforts around the world, giving $500M since the pandemic began, but also funding a huge range of academic departments, labs, and media venues for many years, during which time they have both sounded the alarm in every possible interview about the coming pathogen. Their favored policy has been lockdown, as if to confuse a biological virus with a computer virus that merely needs to be blocked from hitting the hard drive.
We can look at how this disease traveled around the world and see that the countries who locked down first, they’re doing better. Many African countries saw it coming and locked it down early. Their replication rate just never got as high as many other countries. And that is a good thing.
While it is true that Africa is an odd outlier, the claim that this is due entirely to early lockdowns has no support. Those who have looked at the anomaly in Africa point to the very young population (just 3% are over 65), cross immunities with other coronaviruses as the main reason for the low death rate, and stronger overall immunities. Indeed, the demographics alone could account for nearly the whole of the mortality difference with Europe and the U.S. In addition, Melinda says here what Bill has said for years: the only solution to a virus is to suppress it and develop a vaccine – the previously untested experiment that has brought poverty, death, and despair to the entire world. Africa in particular was devastated by lockdowns.
It’s still a good thing that she is opening up to the New York Times so that we can gain better perspective on her outlook. There will be a reckoning in the coming year concerning why and how all this happened to us. There will be no chance of suppressing the reality of what has happened. Indeed the center-left press is already starting to admit what AIER has been saying since March 2020.
Consider this roundup from just the last several days:
What Has Lockdown Done to Us? By Drew Holden (New York Times):
Some researchers worry that the social isolation has inflicted damage to mental health that will outlast even the worst of the pandemic. We may not have a full accounting of the consequences for years to come….There will be significant long term consequences from school closures as well. About half of the country’s school districts held remote classes, either exclusively or partially, at the start of the year. This approach has meaningfully reduced educational quality, particularly for children of color.
These losses don’t even take into account the direct effects of the lockdowns on the economy. Small businesses have closed their doors at very high rates as the American economy sputtered in response to stay-at-home orders. One study estimates that 60 percent of the millions of jobs lost between January and April were a result of the lockdowns, not the virus itself. The economic uncertainty caused by unemployment comes with its own health risks….
These tragedies have become an ambient backdrop to everyday life: present but forgotten, real but ignored. Perhaps America has simply gotten comfortable ignoring the quiet suffering of others.
“The Problem With Underestimating How Much People Want to Be Together” by Julia Marcus (The Atlantic)
When a public-health approach isn’t producing the desired outcome, it’s time to try something different. Instead of yelling even louder about Christmas than about Thanksgiving, government officials, health professionals, and ordinary Americans alike might try this: Stop all the chastising. Remember that the public is fraying. And consider the possibility that when huge numbers of people indicate through their actions that seeing loved ones in person is nonnegotiable, they need practical ways to reduce risk that go beyond “Just say no.”
“Covid used as pretext to curtail civil rights around the world, finds report” (The Guardian)
The state of civil liberties around the world is bleak, according to a new study which found that 87% of the global population were living in nations deemed “closed”, “repressed” or “obstructed”…..A number of governments have used the pandemic as an excuse to curtail rights such as free speech, peaceful assembly and freedom of association, according to Civicus Monitor, an alliance of civil society groups which assessed 196 countries.
The parental burnout crisis has reached a tipping point by Anna North (Vox)
Lack of child care is likely a big reason more than 850,000 women dropped out of the workforce in September — more than in any other month on record except for this April, Covert reports. Overall, moms have borne a bigger share of the pandemic parenting burden than dads, with 80 percent of mothers of kids under 12 saying they are responsible for the majority of distance learning in their homes in one April survey. And single moms have been the hardest-hit of all: The share of unpartnered moms in the workforce dropped from 76.1 percent in September 2019 to 67.4 percent in September 2020, a significantly larger drop than those seen among partnered parents or single dads, according to a Pew analysis.
“Many aren’t buying public officials’ ‘stay-at-home’ message. Experts say there’s a better way” (Los Angeles Times)
Health officials are up against a fatigued public, as well as a number of people who don’t believe in the danger of the virus, (Dr. Monica) Gandhi said. But she is also part of a growing number of experts who think there’s a better way to engage those who do want to take the pandemic seriously — by taking a lesson from the public health strategy known as harm reduction.
Finally, it’s tremendously gratifying that the last column of the mighty genius Walter Williams specifically named the Great Barrington Declaration as the answer:
What about the benefits and costs of dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic? Much of the medical profession and politicians say that lockdowns, social distancing, and mask-wearing are the solutions. CDC data on death rates show if one is under 35, the chances of dying from COVID-19 is much lower than that of being in a bicycle accident. Should we lock down bicycles? Dr. Martin Kulldorff, professor of medicine at Harvard University, biostatistician, and epidemiologist, Dr. Sunetra Gupta, professor at Oxford University and an epidemiologist with expertise in immunology, and Dr. Jay Bhattacharya, professor at Stanford University Medical School, a physician and epidemiologist were the initiators of the Great Barrington Declaration. More than 50,000 scientists and doctors, as well as more than 682,000 ordinary people, have signed the Great Barrington Declaration opposing a second COVID-19 lockdown because they see it doing much more harm than good.
The authors of the Great Barrington Declaration never had any doubt that eventually most everyone would come to see that the traditional principles of public health prevail over the previously untested and now failed policy of lockdowns.
They spoke out when they did as a means of forcing the issue, and their courage will long echo in the annals of history. Now if we could only get Melinda Gates to see it.

zero hedge – AMERICA LAST: MELINDA GATES ‘INCREDIBLY DISAPPOINTED’ AFTER TRUMP GIVES AMERICANS VAXX FIRST
Melinda Gates is ‘incredibly disappointed’ that Americans will be receiving COVID-19 vaccines, developed by American companies, before the rest of the world.
Putting aside overwhelming concerns over safety for a minute – including calls to halt trials until serious questions (including ‘indefinite infertility’) are addressed – Gates told CNN’s Poppy Harlow in a Thursday interview that she’s worried about ‘vaccine nationalism.’
“The president just signed an executive order to try to put Americans at the front of the line when it comes to vaccines,” said Harlow. “I wonder if that’s what you were worried about when you kept saying and warning against vaccine nationalism?”
“That’s exactly what we were worried about,” replied Gates, adding “I knew it was coming and I was just incredibly disappointed.”
“I’m much more optimistic about the president-elect and the COVID task force, this eminent task force that he has put together,” she continued. “I think we’re going to see a lot more sensible policy making in the United States, but that starts, you know, January 20 and we have still some dark months to live ahead until then.”

More via the Daily Wire:
Melinda Gates later spoke about “disinformation,” which she said “can equal death.” Harlow asked her if social media companies have a “responsibility” to remove misinformation “off their platforms.”
“They absolutely have a responsibility,” Melinda Gates replied. Anybody who is spreading information in society has a responsibility to spread that information safely and equitably. “So, you know, I think a bit the internet and the rise of social media has happened so quickly that really the regulations and the good policy making hasn’t stayed out in front of it and, quite frankly, it needs to catch up.”
Melinda Gates also attacked Trump, claiming there “could have been less deaths” if he did things differently, including contact tracing, which some have criticized as being potentially unconstitutional
So here’s a question; Assuming Biden becomes President on January 20, and assuming he offshores millions of doses of vaccine which would otherwise go to US citizens, and assuming it’s ‘safe’ (for various values of safe), how many dead Americans will Biden (and Melinda Gates) be directly responsible for?

Germany: Contact should be reduced by at least 60 percent, says RKI chief
President of Germany’s Robert Koch Institute Lothar Wieler said social contacts should be reduced by at least 60 percent to slow down the spread of COVID-19. He was speaking at a news conference in Berlin on Thursday.
SOT, Lothar Wieler, President of the Robert Koch Institute (German): “What we see and that is a very tough and clear marker, we see simply that the reduction in the number of contacts, which we can measure relatively well, starting with the system I have just partially presented and through a model that we also carry on site or in the field or also in action, we see that the proportion of the contact reduction simply not enough. So far we have come to a contact reduction of around forty percent and we are of the firm opinion that we need the contact reduction that is over sixty percent.”
SOT, Lothar Wieler, President of the Robert Koch Institute (German): “So if people can’t manage this 60 percent reduction on their own, then you have to think about other measures, if it doesn’t work, then I don’t see any other options.”
SOT, Lothar Wieler, President of the Robert Koch Institute (German): “Of course, it is very, very difficult or even impossible for them to behave accordingly, and there are of course a number of reasons why in the elderly and nursing homes why it is especially difficult and independently of what has now happening in individual nursing homes, how a virus is carried in and how it spreads, its just an extremely vulnerable group. That means that when there are also small outbreaks there, so small like in the hospital, then the group that is infected by this virus is so vulnerable so susceptible that the death rates are simply very, very high there, that is simply due to the clientele. People are also particularly easy to seriously infect, easy to get sick, particularly seriously and death numbers are clearly higher.”
SOT, Lothar Wieler, President of the Robert Koch Institute (German): “There should be a Christmas, where we should, of course, be together. We want to see it positively. We can protect ourselves from this virus, we can be together, many of us can just be together in a virtual way. And it will just be a quiet Christmas, at my house there will be a quiet Christmas, where we can contemplate on this year and look forward to the next year positively. When we have a vaccine next year, after all that we have in the course of the year, there is also a lot available that everyone who wants to will be vaccinated. But I want to really ask everyone to not travel for Christmas, if possible and when it is somehow necessary and then have a virtual meeting and limit it to small groups so that in some way it is possible.”
the conservative tree house – The Usefulness of COVID-19 Fear
REPOST BY REQUEST – There is a COVID-19 virus; however, COVID is not more dangerous than all other flu-like viruses that impact the respiratory system. COVID-19 is very manageable and doesn’t carry a higher fatality rate. [Usefulness As A Narrative]
Why is COVID-19 being disproportionately hyped as such a dangerous threat, when the reality of the statistical danger is much less than the intense level of hype?… That is the key question.
The answer is… social changes under the guise of COVID-19 mitigation, are the entry point for the goals and aspirations of the political left on a national and global scale. COVID-19 is a virus, but also a very important political weapon, and we are about to discover exactly what the purpose of the hype is all about. What follows will help understand; and when you encounter the fear it will help to reconcile what people cannot figure out.
Joe Biden is an avatar; a political pawn; a cognitively declining guy who has no idea what is happening around him. The people behind the Biden campaign, those in real control of what this is about, have not hidden their goals and aspirations. These are not stupid people. They are scheming, conniving, ever-planning, ever-manipulating & Machiavellian types within the political system; lusting for power, influence and affluence.

Former FDA chief says Covid vaccine side effects are signs the shot is working
Side effects from Covid-19 vaccines are indications that the shots are helping build protection against the disease, former FDA chief Dr. Margaret Hamburg told CNBC on Thursday.”
The data does tell us that this vaccination causes some reaction at the time of administration that is fairly routine, but notable if you’re receiving the vaccine,” she said on “Squawk Box.”
“You’ll know when you get the vaccine, but that also tells you it’s working and that your body is responding,” added Hamburg, who led the regulatory agency in the Obama administration from 2009 to 2015.
REPORT: Millions In COVID-19 Relief Loans Went To Companies Partially Owned By California Democratic Gov. Newsom
According to a television station in the Bay Area, several companies partially owned by California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom collectively received nearly three million dollars in Paycheck Protection Program loans intended to keep employees on the payroll during the COVID-19 recession.
KGO News’ investigative unit, the ABC7 I-Team, reports it “discovered discrepancies” that “appear to raise questions” about how much relief went to businesses under the umbrella of the PlumpJack Group, a hospitality management company founded by Newsom in 1992. Its properties include wineries, bars, restaurants, and a boutique hotel.

London-based Muslim-aid charity is accused of funding human trafficking gangs smuggling Somali migrants into Europe via Greece (dailymail, Dec 10, 2020)
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9038091/London-charity-accused-funding-human-trafficking-gangs-smuggling-Somali-migrants-Europe.html
“A London charity has been accused by the Greek government of funding human trafficking gangs who are smuggling migrants into Europe.
The Al-Khair Foundation, based in Croydon, south London, was accused of aiding the smugglers by Notis Mitarachi, the Greek minister for migration.
The charity has vehmently denied the claims against them.
The government minister told The Times the charity was part of a network that helped moved refugees from Somalia to Greece via Turkey.
Mr Mitarachi also said the Foundation funded a boat crossing from Turkey to Greece in which 34 Somali migrants drowned.
He said testimonies from surviving migrants to Greek authorities supported reports by the intelligence agency about the smuggling networks, and suggested the charity part funded the migrants’ trafficking fees.
A spokesperson from the Al-Khair Foundation told Mail Online: ‘We totally refute these unfounded allegations, which are based on the word of an unidentified man and haven’t been investigated.
‘Our only work in Turkey is an initiative, which provides emergency response exclusively for Middle East refugees through providing them with winter clothes, food packs and hygiene kits.
‘Al-Khair Foundation did not fund any travel as is alleged and we are seeking urgent talks with the Greek authorities for clarification.’
The London charity is one of several accused of being part of the smuggling chain.
He also pointed a finger at a Norwegian charity and another five unnamed European aid agencies.
Under Greek law, helping an illegal migrant to enter the country is a criminal offence.
The country’s many islands have seen thousands of migrants arrive on their shores in 2020.
UK-based Muslim charity Al-Khair Foundation was set up in 2003, with their website stating that over a decade the charity has delivered £165 million of aid, focusing on emergencies, health, water, education, women, livelihood and shelter.
Mr Mitarachi said the smuggling operation begins by obtaining student and healthcare visa loophole for Somalis who then fly to Turkey and are allowed to move freely.
The Greek minister told The Times: ‘Contacts in Mogadishu facilitate transport to Istanbul, even paying for migrant airfare on Turkish Airlines.
‘From there, migrants are transported to key points along the Turkish coast, working with aid groups to push them to islands like Lesbos.
‘Contacts push them to Athens… then to Berlin, then to Calais, where they are stashed in a truck, ending up in London.’
Last month, Home Secretary Priti Patel hailed a £28million new agreement with her French counterpart aimed at curbing the number of migrants reaching the UK in small boats.
But the deal has not stopped people making it to UK shores. French authorities are refusing to intercept migrant boats heading for Britain once they are in the English Channel, despite the deal.
More than 8,500 migrants were estimated to have successfully entered the country this year – up from 1,850 last year.
It comes after it emerged yesterday criminal charges against 69 Albanian migrants found hiding in a trawler heading for Britain were dropped after a legal bungle.
The migrants were arrested last month after the fishing boat was intercepted off the coast of East Anglia in an operation involving the National Crime Agency, police and Border Force officers on November 17.
But plans to prosecute them for illegal entry to the UK had to be abandoned because when arrested, they had not yet set foot on British soil – a key criteria under the law.
Ms Patel last month detailed plans for new legislation to make it easier for judges to expel foreign criminals.
Her pledge drew criticism from human rights lawyers and it is unclear how the new laws will align with existing human rights legislation enshrined in UK law through the Human Rights Act 1998.”
Truckers Attacked by Calais Migrants Demanding to be Smuggled to UK – Video (sputniknews, Dec 10, 2020)
https://sputniknews.com/uk/202012101081418765-truckers-attacked-by-calais-migrants-demanding-to-be-smuggled-to-uk—video/
“Road Haulage Association spokesman Paul Mummery said the recent attacks on two lorry drivers around the northern French port of Calais were part of a pattern of “intimidation” by illegal immigrants looking to stow away in vehicles crossing the English channel.
British truckers have been attacked and injured by illegal immigrants trying to stow away on lorries near the French port of Calais.
The UK’s Daily Mail and Daily Telegraph quoted two drivers who had been attacked in separate incidents around the northern French city, where immigrants have camped out for decades in their attempts to enter the UK illegally.
A 57-year-old driver Andy Couper was left with blood pouring from his face after assailants smashed the cab window of his lorry with a brick – then mocked him with impunity.
“Someone hit the truck” and the “whole passenger window” was broken, said Couper. He looked down and saw “15 of them laughing at me.”
He drove off slowly, sounding his horn to attract attention and help, “but there are no police”, the driver said. Couper said immigrants were “running riot” around Calais, warning: “one day someone will get killed.”
And a video showed migrants trying to stow away in the back of a lorry stopped on a road near the port, then throwing objects at Greg West, the driver of the truck behind, as he recorded the incident.
“Welcome to the daily Calais grind, if you want to know why we don’t care too much for these people in our country here is a good reason why,” West wrote as he posted the video on Facebook.
Photos tweeted by the UK’s Road Haulage Association (RHA) and journalists showed Couper’s bloodied face after the attack at 3am on Friday December 4. The RHA asked if it would take the death of one of its members’ employees before French authorities take action against the immigrants
?In fact, attempts by illegal immigrants to stow away on lorries have already had deadly consequences. In June 2017 a Polish van driver died horrifically when he hit a barricade of logs set on the A16 road at Guemps, 10 miles from Calais. The vehicle burst into flames and the body of the man, later identified only as Miroslaw I., was burnt beyond recognition. Two Afghan and two Eritrean suspects were arrested and charged with manslaughter, endangering lives and impeding traffic.
RHA press executive Paul Mummery said there had been an “upsurge” in such incidents amid “more desperation” by migrants who beleive it will be harder to enter the UK covertly once the post-Brexit transition period ends. He said the attacks are part of a strategy of “intimidation” against drivers to force them to let illegal immigrants hide in their lorries as they cross the channel to the UK.
Eamonn Harrison and three other alleged members of a people-trafficking ring are on trial in the UK for charges including manslaughter over the deaths of 39 Vietnamese immigrants, who were found suffocated in the back of his truck in Essex in 2019. Northern Irish trucker Maurice Robinson, who drove the vehicle, has already pleaded guilty.
In October, both parents and two children from an Iranian family were found drowned when their boat capsized while trying to cross the English channel. Their 15-month-old daughter was also presumed dead, but her body was never found. In August a young Sudanese man drowned trying to cross the channel.
Some 8,500 illegal immigrants are estimated to have entered the UK so far this year, up from 1,850 in 2019. In November UK Home Secretary Priti Patel announced £28 million in funding to French authorities to stop more people-trafficking across the channel.”

Another Middle East Peace Deal: Morocco Latest to Establish Ties with Israel (breitbart, Dec 10, 2020)
https://www.breitbart.com/politics/2020/12/10/greg-abbott-tx-wont-force-homeowners-to-retreat-when-attacked/
“Morocco became the fourth Arab state to reach a peace deal with Israel this year, as news broke Thursday that the Kingdom would sign an agreement establishing diplomatic relations with the Jewish state.
President Donald Trump congratulated the two parties in a tweet: “Another HISTORIC breakthrough today! Our two GREAT friends Israel and the Kingdom of Morocco have agreed to full diplomatic relations – a massive breakthrough for peace in the Middle East!”
Less than a year ago, President Trump launched his Middle East peace plan, which departed from previous efforts in that it sought agreements between Israel and Arab states without giving a veto to the Palestinians.
Earlier U.S. administrations had believed, incorrectly, that such an approach was impossible. Then-Secretary of State John Kerry said in 2016 that no separate peace between Israel and Arab states was possible:
Morocco has quietly enjoyed unofficial ties with Israel for many years. The country has a large Jewish community, many of whose members moved to Israel after the Jewish state declared independence in 1948.
The Trump administration has been reaching out to Morocco for years. Ivanka Trump visited the kingdom last November. Morocco also granted an exclusive interview with Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita to Breitbart News in 2018.
On Thursday, Trump announced that the U.S. would be recognizing Morocco’s claims to the disputed Western Sahara:…
The kingdom is the fourth state to make peace and forge diplomatic relations with Israel this year. The other three include the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, which signed the Abraham Accords on the White House lawn in September; and Sudan, which announced it had reached an agreement with Israel several weeks later.”

Infographic: What Happened in Atlanta on Election Night
By Petr Svab
December 9, 2020 Updated: December 9, 2020
On the night of Nov. 3, tens of thousands of absentee ballots for Fulton County, Georgia, were counted at the State Farm Arena’s vote-tabulation center in Atlanta. In recent days, the fog of incomplete and conflicting information provided by interested parties has begun to clear.
It now appears that a state election monitor was absent for a part of the counting process and that Republican poll watchers were led to believe the counting was over when it in fact wasn’t. It is also clear that the watchers were prevented from meaningfully observing much of the process, even though they were allowed in the room.

The federal investigation into President-elect Joe Biden’s son Hunter has been more extensive than a statement from Hunter Biden indicates, according to a person with firsthand knowledge of the investigation.
On Wednesday, Hunter Biden said he had been contacted about a tax investigation out of the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Delaware.
In addition to Delaware, the securities fraud unit in the Southern District of New York also scrutinized Hunter Biden’s finances, according to the person with direct knowledge of the investigation. The person said that, as of early last year, investigators in Delaware and Washington were also probing potential money laundering and Hunter Biden’s foreign ties. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to discuss the matter publicly.
