Reader’s Links for November 27, 2020

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  1. Majority of French Consider Violent Migrant Camp Removal by Police Justified, Poll Reveals (sputniknews, Nov 27, 2020)

“Over 70 percent of the French believe that the controversial police operation on dismantling a migrant camp in central Paris earlier this week was justified, throwing their support behind law enforcement officers rather than the organizers of the migrants gathering, according to IFOP poll for the CNEWS news released on Friday.

The police operation was conducted on Monday evening and prompted an outcry in France, as videos and photos of police using violent methods against migrants were distributed on the Internet.

According to the poll, 74 percent of the respondents support police actions during the camp removal and subsequent dispersal of over 450 refugees from the Place de la Republique, where they gathered to protest against forced evacuations from camps, including the most recent one in Saint-Denis, Paris’ northern suburb.

According to the survey, 60 percent of the French found the initiative to hold a migrant demonstration on the Place de la Republique unjustified.

The poll also found that older respondents are more likely to justify police actions in the recent controversy: up to 80 percent of over 65-year-olds, 75 percent of the 35-64 age group, 69 percent among 25-34-year-olds and 56 percent among those aged 18-24.

When asked about the attitude to the national security forces, 45 percent of those surveyed said they confide in the police, 23 percent are concerned about them, 14 percent feel sympathy towards law enforcement troops, and 8 percent are hostile to them.

The poll comes amid a new wave of criticism toward police forces after the controversial refugee evacuations and the adoption by the French Parliament of the disputed global security bill designed to criminalize the distribution of materials on policemen online.

This survey was conducted via an online questionnaire from November 25 to 26, among 1,049 French citizens aged over 18.”

  2. Amazon warning: Retail giant allowing Chinese firms to pretend they are in BRITAIN (express, Nov 27, 2020)

“EXCLUSIVE: Amazon is allowing foreign firms to fool internet shoppers by posing as British-based businesses, a Daily Express investigation reveals today.

The web giant admitted its rules do not prevent sellers from countries like China suggesting they operate from the UK. Many customers who thought they were buying British have reported receiving poor quality goods or very late deliveries. Consumer experts believe in some cases the practice is a con to take money from buyers who put more trust in UK firms.

One shopper who thought he was buying British goods threw his parcel away without opening it when it arrived with a postmark from the coronavirus birthplace of Wuhan.

Another ordered a coat for her sick cat because it promised delivery from a British firm within a short period of time – only to receive it 10 weeks later.

A third believed he was buying genuine Ring battery from a UK supplier – only to receive a fake from China.

While a fourth bought a pair of jeans because the seller had an “English-sounding name” – only to find his delivery was delayed because it was coming from China at the start of the pandemic.

The Daily Express discovered how widespread the practice is by searching page after page of products listed by suppliers with the initials “UK” alongside their name.

One listing for a jumper, for instance, said it was sold by Beluring UK.

But clicking on the seller name revealed its real business identity was the China-based Chongqing Buruifu Network Technology Ltd.

Another seller described itself on the purchase page as Elegoo Official – UK. Clicking on Elegoo reveals it is the Chinese firm Shenzhenshi Guoyun Dianzishangwu Youxiangongsi.

Consumer laws protect British shoppers’ right not to be misled, and so items for sale must be as they are described and everything you are told must be true.

Section 13 (1) and Schedule 2 of The Consumer Contract Regulations state that the identity and geographical location of the seller must be made available to the consumer, before they buy.

An Amazon spokesman said yesterday: “Our mission is to build the best shopping experience for customers, with unbeatable prices, selection and convenience.

“When customers choose to purchase an item on our store, we clearly advise whether Amazon or a third party seller is fulfilling the order.

“Should a customer want further details on the seller, that information is accessible in a single click.

“The Amazon A-to-Z Guarantee provides additional protection for customers who buy from third-party sellers on

“It covers both the timely delivery and the condition of your items.

“If either are unsatisfactory, you can report the problem to us and our team will determine if you are eligible for a refund.”

    Comment by Dean Dunham
If asked you where Red UK – a fictitious company I made up – was located, would you say the UK, China or you weren’t sure?

If you jump to the conclusion that the firm is located in the UK, there is a very good chance that you will be misled when you shop with Amazon.

This is because sellers based in China who use the platform are making up trading names that sound English – often with “UK” or sometimes “EU” in the name.

In my opinion, they do it to mislead the consumer into believing they are purchasing from a seller based in the UK.

Many UK consumers are likely to feel more comfortable with a UK seller due to quicker delivery times and the perception that it will be easier to get a resolution if something goes wrong.

But they are being caught out by Chinese sellers and, to make matters worse, Amazon knows about it. Consumers in the UK have lots of basic rights, the fundamental right being that you should always get “what it says on the tin”.

This means that goods must be as they are described by the seller, and that everything the seller tells you – both verbally and as presented in a listing – must be true.

In addition, the Consumer Contract Regulations clearly state that the identity and location of the seller must be made available to the consumer, pre-purchase, in a “clear and comprehensible manner”.

So next time you shop on Amazon, take an extra minute to click on the seller’s name so that you are fully aware of who they are.”

  3. ISIS HORROR: New generation of ‘jihadi’ children being raised in Syrian camps (express, Nov 27, 2020)

“DOZENS of British children and women are being held in Syrian camps, built by the Kurds to guard ISIS suspects, according to a new report from Rights and Security International (RSI).

The London-based charity has published findings about the “barbaric” al-Hawl and al-Roj compounds in Syria. RIA found that dozens of British women and children are being held by Kurdish troops at the camps, and dubbed them “Europe’s Guantanamo” due to the conditions and treatment of the detainees. Around 25 of those held at al-Hawl have died each month, with as many as 35 British children and 15 women being detained as of the report’s release.

RIA fears the Syrian camps have become breeding grounds for the next generation of ISIS terrorists.

According to the report, more than 8,000 children are being held in the two camps.

A majority of the children held at the compounds are under five-years-old, with more than 13,500 women and children in total reported at the sites since last March.

RIA dubbed al-Hawl and al-Roj as the “perfect incubator” for young jihadists, with ISIS making them the focus of a recruitment drive.

Caged Pearls, an alleged ISIS-affiliated recruitment group, boated al-Hawl was “the cradle of the new Caliphate”.

Other social media posts from affiliated pages said children in the compounds were the “mini-mujahideen” of the future.

The RIA report also attacks the UK Government for its attitude to British nationals being held in the camps.

It alleges British intelligence officials enter the camps regularly to identify individuals, only to then strip them of their UK citizenship.

Molly Ellenberg, from the US-based International Centre for the Study of Violent Extremism, decried ISIS’ portrayal of the compounds.

She said to The Sun: “ISIS portrays the camps in Syria as being held by oppressors who are keeping women and children captive.

“It is what they have used as propaganda throughout their time: believers held captive, oppressed and in need of being saved.

“The posts get a lot of traction as they call people to support a cause that seems more noble than ISIS itself.”

Yasmine Ahmed, the executive director of RSI, also declared the report’s findings were a damning indictment of the UK.

She added: “This is Europe’s Guantánamo, but for children. It beggar’s belief that the UK, who rightly condemned the abuses of Guantánamo Bay, now stand by and let children, including a newborn British baby, die.

“Now these women and children face another brutal winter with more deaths.

“The claim that it is safer to leave women and children in the camps flies in the face of security experts who say that the real security risk comes from leaving these women and children in the detention camps where they are vulnerable to radicalisation.”

  4. U.N. Seeks ‘New Social Norms,’ Declares Itself a ‘Trusted’ Coronavirus News Source (breitbart, Nov 27, 2020)

“The United Nations has joined the World Economic Forum (WEF) to announce a global coronavirus news service, declaring the time has come for “new social norms” that seek out and correct “wrong” information.

Observing that social media is a mechanism for driving opinion on a host of issues, the two globalist organizations announced Thursday they want to “combat dangerous misinformation.”

“When COVID-19 emerged, it was clear from the outset this was not just a public health emergency, but a communications crisis as well,” Melissa Fleming, chief of global communications for the United Nations, said.

“We’re trying to create this new social norm called ‘pause – take care before you share’,” Fleming continued. “We’re equipping people, through this new social norm, with a bit of ‘information scepticism’.”

The U.N. is also encouraging social media influencers to help spread what it selects as “real news about the pandemic,” recruiting them in their tens of thousands to spread the digital messages the U.N. itself has deemed necessary.

“So far, we’ve recruited 110,000 information volunteers, and we equip these information volunteers with the kind of knowledge about how misinformation spreads and ask them to serve as kind of ‘digital first-responders’ in those spaces where misinformation travels,” Fleming said.

U.N. chief Antonio Guterres is pleased to enter the global information age and seek out “wrong think.”

As Breitbart News reported, in March the Chinese Communist Party declared the coronavirus did not start in the city of Wuhan, claiming support from both the U.N. and World Health Organization (W.H.O.) in rejecting “hurtful” U.S. allegations to the contrary as “bald-faced racism and xenophobia.”

This was supported directly by the United Nations which had earlier worked to deflect any criticism of the Chinese Communist Party and China.

“Preliminary investigations conducted by the Chinese authorities have found no clear evidence of human-to-human transmission of the novel [coronavirus] identified in [Wuhan],” the WHO wrote on Twitter.

The W.H.O. was later forced to backtrack on its stand and concede the coronavirus is indeed capable of human-to-human transmission and presented a huge risk to global health.

Now it hopes the rest of the world will fall into line and observe its dictats as driven by selected social media warriors.”

  5. Four Pupils Indicted in Teacher Beheading, Including Daughter of Man Who Launched Campaign Against Him (breitbart, Nov 27, 2020)

“Four more pupils have been indicted in the murder of Samuel Paty, with three of the four accused of complicity and helping to identify the teacher to his killer.

The four arrested are part of the total of 14 pupils detained since the killing of Mr Paty last month, who was beheaded in the street by a Chechen refugee. The 18-year-old terrorist, Abdulakh Anzorov, murdered the history and geography teacher in revenge for showing cartoons of the Islamic prophet Mohammed, published by Charlie Hebdo, to his class during a lesson on freedom of expression.

Three of the recently arrested pupils, aged between 13 and 14, are facing charges of complicity with the murder and are alleged to have helped Anzorov identify Paty before the murder, a judicial source told AFP.

The fourth is the daughter of Brahim Chnina, the man who launched an internet campaign against Paty after he found out he had shown the cartoon to his daughter’s class. The teen was accused of “slanderous denunciation” against her teacher, after claiming details of the lesson where the cartoons were shown despite not being present at the time.

Both Chnina and his daughter had accused Paty of discrimination in the days before the terror attack, claiming he had told Muslims to leave the room before showing the cartoons. In contrast, other witnesses had said that the teacher had offered any student to leave beforehand if they wanted to do so.

Chnina, as well as Islamist activist Abdelhakim Sefrioui, who supported the father’s anti-Paty campaign, have already been charged with complicity in the murder. Sefrioui is listened on France’s anti-terror S-File list, considered a risk to national security. The father is said to have been in direct contact with Anzorov via WhatsApp.

Following the murder, which took place on October 16th, police arrested seven pupils on October 22nd, two of whom were indicted on charges of complicity in murder connected to terrorist activity. Three more were arrested on November 6th.

The two pupils indicted with complicity, aged 14 and 15, were released under judicial supervision last week after being presented to an anti-terrorism judge. One of the teens admitted he had pointed out Paty to the attacker.

Earlier reports had claimed that 18-year-old Anzorov had paid pupils at Paty’s school cash to identify him on the morning of the terrorist attack. The young terrorist, who was shot dead by police after the attack, is said to have paid out several hundred euros to identify his target.

In the weeks after the killing, and the following terrorist attack at church in Nice that saw three killed by a radical Islamic terrorist, French President Emmanuel Macron has worked to crack down on Islamist associations and groups.”

  6. Most Tunisian Migrants Given Citizenship in Safe Italy Use EU Free Movement to Move to France (breitbart, Nov 27, 2020)

“Over half of the Tunisian migrants who claimed Italian citizenship between 2012 to 2017, 56 per cent, used EU Free Movement rules to move to France.

Statistics also reveal that of the Tunisians granted asylum in 2011, just 10 per cent remained in Italy by 2018, the lowest level of any nationality.

In recent months, Italy has seen a new surge of mass migration, primarily from Tunisia via the Italian island of Lampedusa. Many of them have made the trip north to the town of Ventimiglia, which lies on the border with France, after arriving.

Delia Bonuomo, a Ventimiglia bar owner, told French newspaper Le Figaro that many come directly from Lampedusa and do not bother trying to stay in Italy at all.

“They do not have the marks of suffering like Africans from southern Sahara, who have thousands of kilometres of wear in their legs and have sometimes experienced tragedies. They want to join cousins in France,” Ms Bonuomo said.

The bar owner said that she offers them limited help, such as letting them charge up their phones, “but they can’t ask me to take them to France,” she said.

“Among them are rude people and thugs who even steal from each other. Some think that women like me should lower my eyes before them,” she added.

Bonuomo said that people-smugglers charge the migrants up to €500 to get across the French border, but that they are often pushed back by French police.

“Some people try three, four, seven, up to ten times to get to France. They can take a month or two, but they always end up getting there,” she said.

Adel Chehida, chairman of the Association of Tunisians in Italy, told the newspaper that many young Tunisians leave the country because of the lack of job prospects.

Tunisian migration into France came under scrutiny last month after it was revealed that the radical Islamic terrorist who killed three people in a church in Nice was Tunisian and had arrived in Lampedusa illegally earlier in the year.

Italian populist Senator Matteo Salvini called on Italy’s Interior Minister Luciana Lamorgese to resign over the affair and questioned how many more radical Islamists had come through the country illegally.”

  7. Iran’s Top Nuclear Scientist Assassinated in Country’s North, Tehran Calls Murder a ‘Terror Attack’ (sputniknews, Nov 27, 2020)

“Earlier in the day, reports emerged in Iranian media that a high-profile nuclear physicist had been assassinated in the north of Iran.

The Iranian Defence Ministry has confirmed earlier media reports that a high-ranking nuclear physicist, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, has been killed. In a press release, the ministry says they are treating Fakhrizadeh’s assassination as a terror attack.

“Today, in the afternoon, armed terrorists attacked the head of research and innovation at the Defence Ministry. As his security guards and terrorists clashed, Mohsen Fakhrizadeh was seriously injured and hospitalised,” the press service said in a statement adding that he died in the hospital despite efforts to resuscitate him.

Iranian Defence Minister, Amir Hatami, has said on Twitter that the nuclear physicist’s killing showcases the depth of Iran’s enemies hatred towards the republic…”

Iran’s Zarif Says There are ‘Serious Indications of Israeli Role’ in Nuclear Scientist’s Killing (sputniknews, Nov 27, 2020)

“Earlier Friday, Iranian officials confirmed media reports that Mohsen Fakhrizadeh-Mahabadi, a high-ranking Iranian nuclear scientist, had been killed in an apparent gun and bomb-based assassination attack outside Tehran.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif suspects that Israel was involved in the killing of one of Iran’s top nuclear scientists.

“Terrorists murdered an eminent Iranian scientist today. This cowardice – with serious indications of Israeli role – shows desperate warmongering of perpetrators. Iran calls on the international community, and especially the EU – to end their shameful double standards and condemn this act of state terror,” Zarif tweeted.

Zarif did not immediately provide evidence regarding alleged Israeli involvement in Fakhrizadeh-Mahabadi’s killing.

  8. Tulsi Gabbard Asks Trump to Pardon Snowden and Assange for ‘Exposing Criminality of Deep State’ (sputniknews, Nov 27, 2020)

“Outgoing Hawaii Congresswoman and former Democratic presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard has urged President Trump to use the time he has left in office to pardon former NSA contractor-turned whistleblower Edward Snowden and WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange.

“@real Donald Trump Since you’re giving pardons to people, please considering those who, at great personal sacrifice, exposed the deception and criminality of those in the deep state,” Gabbard wrote, addressing Trump directly via his Twitter handle.

Gabbard’s tweet linked to a video dated October 6 in which she pointed to her previous efforts to introduce legislation in the House to drop criminal charges against Snowden and Assange, and to reform the Espionage Act of 1917.

“I’ve introduced legislation to stand up for and to protect brave whistleblowers who come forward to expose illegal actions within our own government or egregious abuses of power and to reform the Espionage Act. To make sure that if a whistleblower is prosecuted under the Espionage Act, that they will have their fair day in court, something that is currently not allowable under the law as it stands today,” the congresswoman said in the video.

One of the pieces of legislation mentioned by Gabbard was cosponsored by Florida Republican Congressman Matt Gaetz, who recently urged the president to pardon himself before leaving office to prevent his Democratic opponents of trying to prosecute him on some trumped up charge out of “blood lust.” Trump later retweeted Gaetz’ pardon-related remarks….”

No, the 2020 Election was a total scam, we won by a lot (and will hopefully turn over the fraudulent result), but we must get out and help David and Kelly, two GREAT people.
Otherwise we are playing right into the hands of some very sick people.

  13. UK Clinics Offering ‘Virginity Tests’ and ‘Virginity Repair’ Exposed (breitbart, Nov 27, 2020)

“Another form of abuse imported from the third world and forced on ethnic minority women has been exposed, after an investigation revealed British medical clinics are conducting “virginity tests” and “virginity repairs”.

The BBC identified 21 clinics that said they would conduct ‘hymen repair’ surgery, costing between £1,500 and £3,000, with seven confirming “virginity testing” for between £150 and £300.

Rothna Begum, a senior researcher at Human Rights Watch, condemned the practice, telling the BBC: “It is an incredibly intimate act in which a woman can find herself humiliated and degraded. And it can have harmful effects both physical and mental for years to come. In an odd way, you’re conducting a test to see whether a woman is actually a virgin, but in doing so, you’re actually sexually assaulting her.”

Karma Nirvana, a charity which helps women at risk of forced marriage, female genital mutilation (FGM), and other forms of “honour”-based violence, said that they had received calls from girls worried about being subjected to a virginity test.

“Triggers for honour-based abuse and forced marriage are being in a relationship, choosing your own partner and being in an intimate or sexual relationship. We know at the charity many victims in extreme cases have been killed. For other victims it might be they are disowned by family,” Karma Nirvana’s Priya Manota said.

The World Health Organization (WHO) said in a 2018 report that the practice is common in some 20 countries around the world, but mostly “established in Asia and the Middle East” as well as “countries in northern and southern Africa”.

The WHO added, however, it is also found “more recently, among some immigrant groups in Europe and North America”. Due to “increased globalisation” in the past century, it has been recorded in the United Kingdom, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, Sweden, and Canada.

The body noted that cases in the West are likely “underreported” because they are settings where culturally “this practice is not seen as desirable”. NHS England said there had been 69 hymen-repair procedures in the past year, but given the WHO’s claim the practice is underreported, true figures are likely to be much higher.

In September, France announced that it would be outlawing virginity testing, with the barbaric practice common amongst Muslim and Roma gypsy communities. While some campaigners have praised the ban as a victory for women’s rights, others are in an uproar over the effect that not being able to “prove” virginity could have on Muslim women in vulnerable situations within their families and community, including violent reprisals.

The WHO and UN have stated that no examination can prove a girl or woman is no longer a virgin, calling such tests unscientific.

France has also seen a rise in female genital mutilation (FGM) in recent years, as well as in Germany, Ireland, and the United Kingdom, the custom originating in parts of the Middle East, Asia, and Africa and often defended by Muslim faith leaders. Generally perpetrated against young girls, a 2018 report revealed that 86 per cent of known cases occurred when the youngsters were taken to an African country for a “holiday” specifically to be cut by relatives.

The problem of Western-born girls being taken abroad is at such a scale that British and American authorities undertake coordinated operations at their respective airports during the summer — known as “cutting season” — to question parents suspected of preparing to or having taken their daughters to be cut overseas. Officers are instructed to also look out for girls having trouble walking, signs that they had been subjected to the worst forms of FGM, including removal of the clitoris and labia.

Every summer, the British authorities run awareness campaigns for girls and young women from ethnic minority communities at risk of being taken abroad and forced into marriage. The number of “honour crimes” and forced marriages also spike during the Christmas break.

Despite being illegal since 1985, the United Kingdom only saw its first conviction for FGM in 2019, after a woman was found complicit in the mutilation of her three-year-old daughter’s genitals. The case was striking in that it involved elements of voodoo. The abuser, identified only as a 37-year-old Ugandan woman, had performed witchcraft with fruits and ox tongues in an effort to use magic to silence the police, social services, and even one of her own children. Investigators found 40 limes in the woman’s freezer with people’s names written inside them, which the prosecution said was a spell to “freeze their mouths”, as well as whole ox tongues wrapped in wire and stuck with nails and screws.

Europe has seen an increase in the use of voodoo, black magic, and Santería brought over by African and Caribbean migrants. In 2018, a joint Spanish-British operation busted a sex trafficking ring that stretched from Nigeria to Spain, Italy, and Britain, where gangsters used voodoo to control and force women and girls as young as 13 from Africa into prostitution.

Breast ironing, another import from Africa, has also caught the media’s attention in recent years. Done under the guise of protecting girls from unwanted sexual advances, women will press heated stones or spatulas to a young girl’s developing breast, with some survivors explaining the painful experience of feeling like their breast is melting. At least 1,000 girls and women in Britain are believed to have been victims of breast ironing.”

  14. The latest call to avenge Trump loyalists, this time by imprisonment
By LU Staff November 27, 2020

Jim Treacher writing at PJ Media notes that John Paul Mac Isaac, the owner of the Delaware computer repair shop where Hunter Biden dropped off and never reclaimed a laptop filled with potentially damning personal and family information, has closed his shop. Isaac is also reported to have left town following numerous death threats. As Treacher observes, these acts, coming from the side that won the election, reveal what a vengeful lot the Democrats are.

Following the vengeance theme, there has been no shortage of demands from sore winners that Donald Trump and anyone who voted for him be singled out and punished. Vocal Trump hater Robert DeNiro advised Trump supporters to “be afraid,” while a Democratic Party official in California recommended placing these people in re-education camps so that they could be deprogrammed. MNBC’s Joy Reid devoted a segment of her show “The Reidout” to whether Trump’s “accomplices” should “be allowed back into polite and normal political society after what they have done to this country?”

Now another voice — that of former CNN host Keith Olbermann — has been added to the fray. But Olbermann isn’t just calling for the banishments of the outgoing president and his admirers. Rather, he is furiously demanding that “Trumps, Trump flunkies, Trump apologists, and Trump enablers” be “indicted, arrested, tried, and imprisoned. We want enough of them in there that they could hold reunions.”

Think INSIDE the OODA loop: We are the ‘Great Reset’ – Liberty Unyielding
    J.E. Dyer

This will be short(-ish). It’s an important point and it needs to stand on its own.

Most people by now know what the “OODA loop” is. Observe; orient; decide; act. It’s a schematic representation of the sequence in which cognition leads to decision and action.

Thinking “inside” an OODA loop means recognizing and anticipating things faster than the pace at which someone else – could be an opponent, could just be the culture you live in – is demonstrably reacting.

It’s desirable to do it if you can, for a list of obvious reasons. And in the matter of what’s being called the “Great Reset,” we can. We can think inside the OODA loop.

  16. Germany: Anti-fascism protesters gather outside AfD conference site in Kalkar

About 150 protesters gathered on Friday in a small town of Kalkar, west Germany, outside the venue where the AfD (Alternative for Germany) party conference will be taking place on the weekend.

The convention is due to kick off on Saturday, with 600 delegates and 100 guests, despite other parties having cancelled theirs due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

Protesters were seen holding anti-AfD banners, waving LGBTQ and other flags and chanting slogans such as, “all together against fascism.”

Tight security measures and strong police presence could already be seen around the conference venue, as more anti-AfD protests are expected over the weekend.

“We want to give an unfriendly reception to the participants who arrive here, and we want clearly say, this politics is not welcome here,” said Markus, one of the protesters.

“37 years ago I was here for the first time to protest against the breeder nuclear reactor. Today I’m here to stop the new fascist power in Germany,” said another protester, since the venue of the conference is a former nuclear power plant in Kalkar.

Local authorities obliged on Friday all the 600 participants to wear face masks during the event to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

  17. ‘F*ck Ur Thxgiving’: Portland rioters damage multiple buildings in holiday unrest

A group of rioters in Portland busted multiple windows and defaced storefronts during Thanksgiving Day unrest in the city, according to police.

At least 10 businesses were defaced and attacked by the violent demonstration including grocery stores, banks, an auto service center, a mailing store and several other unspecified retail locations, according to a press release from the Portland Police Bureau (PPB). The phrases “Fuck Ur Thxgiving,” “Land Back” and “You Don’t give aF about Black PPL” were tagged in graffiti while officers noted “thousands of dollars of damage” throughout the night, the department said.

  18. Virus Evolution Could Undermine a COVID-19 Vaccine– But This Can be Stopped

he first drug against HIV brought dying patients back from the brink. But as excited doctors raced to get the miracle drug to new patients, the miracle melted away. In each and every patient, the drug only worked only for a while.

It turned out the drug was very good at killing the virus, but the virus was even better at evolving resistance to the drug. A spontaneous mutation in the virus’ genetic material prevented the drug from doing its work, and so the mutant viruses were able to replicate wildly despite the drug, making the patients sick again. It took another decade before scientists found evolution-proof therapies.

Could the same thing happen to a COVID-19 vaccine? Could a vaccine that is safe and effective in initial trials go on to fail because the virus evolves its way out of trouble? As evolutionary microbiologists who have studied a poultry virus that has evolved resistance to two different vaccines, we know such an outcome is possible. We also think we know what it takes to stop it. COVID-19 vaccines could fail – but if they have certain properties, they won’t.

  19. Legal adviser for President Trump says these arguments in Sidney Powell’s lawsuits could ‘affect the outcome of the election’

    These allegations ‘have legs’

Pro-Trump attorney Sidney Powell finally came through on her promise to legally challenge the 2020 election Thursday by releasing two highly anticipated lawsuits in Georgia and Michigan alleging widespread fraud. As for what affect the lawsuits will have on the results of the election — which for now show former Vice President Joe Biden defeating President Trump 306-232 in the Electoral College — that remains to be seen.

POLL: Who is the most corrupt?

But at least one Trump campaign legal adviser appears to believe that the claims made in the Georgia lawsuit, if argued successfully before a judge, could overturn the election and grant the president a victory.
    What are the details?

In a lengthy Twitter thread Thursday, Harmeet Dhillon, a lawyer and former Republican Party official who is now involved in the Trump campaign’s legal effort, summarized the key claims made in Powell’s suit. She acknowledged that while some of Powell’s major arguments — such as that Dominion Voting Systems software was hacked and that thousands of ballots were pre-printed for Biden — would certainly “be enough to change the election results,” they may be more difficult to prove in court.

  20. Digital Forensic Analysis Shows Dominion’s Server Connected to Iran and China: Affidavit

    November 27, 2020 Updated: November 27, 2020

A digital forensic analysis by a former military intelligence analyst whose name was redacted in an affidavit accompanying attorney Sidney Powell’s lawsuit against Michigan officials, claims to present “unambiguous evidence” that Dominion Voter Systems servers were accessible to and were “certainly compromised by rogue actors, such as Iran and China.”

Powell’s complaint, filed on Nov. 25 against Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, and the Michigan Board of State Canvassers, cites the affidavit (pdf) as authored by a former electronic intelligence analyst under 305th Military Intelligence and purporting to show that “the Dominion software was accessed by agents acting on behalf of China and Iran in order to monitor and manipulate elections, including the most recent US general election in 2020.”

A separate complaint (pdf) in Georgia, expands on the assertion, claiming that, “by using servers and employees connected with rogue actors and hostile foreign influences combined with numerous easily discoverable leaked credentials, Dominion neglectfully allowed foreign adversaries to access data and intentionally provided access to their infrastructure in order to monitor and manipulate elections, including the most recent one in 2020.”

  21. Rep. Mo Brooks: Trump Could Win 2nd Term Through State Delegation Votes
    By Zachary Stieber
    November 27, 2020 Updated: November 27, 2020

President Donald Trump could win a second term if the 2020 election goes to the secondary system set up to support the Electoral College, Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Ala.) said this week.

If neither Trump nor Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden get 270 or more electoral votes, then the House of Representatives would pick the next president.

“So many submissions of Electoral College votes by state have been rejected, that no candidate has the required 270 Electoral College vote majority, in which case the presidency would be decided by the House of Representatives.”

But the system has each state delegation getting a single vote. Republicans have the majority in that scenario.

  22. Joe Biden’s Moderate Mask Slips Off – He Just Admitted He’s Planning To Execute A “Very Progressive Agenda”

From the very start of Joe Biden’s campaign for president, we’ve questioned who was really in charge.

Biden has repeatedly promised to be “everyone’s” president. But his actions show he cares little about connecting with most Americans.
