Reader’s Links for November 11, 2020

(Sorry it is late today)

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

    https://sputniknews.com/world/202011111081128995-4-dead-one-person-missing-after-turkish-fishing-boat-greek-tanker-collide-in-med/

“The incident took place amid ongoing tensions between Athens and Ankara in the Mediterranean related to a gas drilling dispute in an area claimed by both countries.

Four people are confirmed dead and one remains missing following a collision involving the Ephesos, a Greek-flagged tanker, and the Polatbey 1, a Turkish fishing boat, officials from the Turkish province of Adana have said.

The incident reportedly place at about 5:50 am local time on Wednesday morning, about 15 nautical miles off Karatas district in southern Turkey. Its precise cause has yet to be determined. The area where the accident took place is also situated about 40 nautical miles from the Turkish-Syrian border, and less than 50 nautical miles from Cyprus.

Turkey’s coast guard launched a three-vessel search-and-rescue operation including a dive team to find the Turkish sailors; the boat is said to have capsized and sank after colliding with the Greek ship. The crew of the Greek ship is also said to have provided assistance. Turkish officials say four bodies have been retrieved, with one fisherman still missing.

Amateur footage from the scene of the accident obtained by Turkish media shows the capsized fishing vessel floating in the water, with the tanker anchored nearby as coast guard workers call out in vain in hopes of finding survivors after boarding the trawler.

According to online maritime traffic resources, the Ephesos tanker was on route from Ceyhan, Turkey to Vietnam, and is carrying about 140,000 metric tonnes of oil….”

  5. Sadiq Khan shamed as ex-Labour mayor defects to Tories over ‘failing on knife crime’ (express, Nov 11, 2020)
    https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1358941/london-news-sadiq-khan-shaun-bailey-rakhia-ismail-london-knife-crime

“A FORMER Labour mayor has left the party over Sadiq Khan’s handling of violent crime in London and will campaign for his Tory rival Shaun Bailey ahead of next year’s City Hall elections.

Rakhia Ismail, who was mayor of Islington council last year, announced her defection to the Conservatives in a video posted on social media. She said accused Mr Khan of “failing to take action against knife crime” which she says has risen by “34 per cent” since he took office in 2016.

Ms Ismail said: “It’s going to be tough for me to cross the floor, but if that takes to save a child in London then I will and that’s why I have joined the campaign of Shaun Bailey for London.”

In the video, Ms Ismail described the Tory mayoral candidate as “quite humble” and “not airy fairy like Sadiq Khan who is all about the talk”.

She said: “I decided some time ago there’s no point in talking to Sadiq. There’s no point in working with Sadiq.

“I’m really lucky to be working with Shaun on a London-wide campaign on social mobility, on knife crime, giving people hope.”

She continued: “At the moment the Labour party is all about hot air and no substance and that’s what I’d like to change.

“I believe Shaun Bailey will inspire every family across London, and every family across the country that has suffered from violent crime.”

Londoners should have gone to the polls to for mayoral elections last May but the vote was postponed for 12 months because of the coronavirus pandemic…”

  6. Left-wing ‘woke’ identity politics failing Britain’s ethnic minorities argues writer (express, Nov 11, 2020)
    https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1358685/Conservative-news-left-wing-woke-identity-politics-Calvin-Robinson-BBC-BML

“THE RISE of woke politics, or extreme identity politics, is harming Britain’s ethnic minorities by creating a culture of low expectation according to a prominent educationalist and conservative writer.

The claim was made by Calvin Robinson, a school governor and campaign champion for the Defund The BBC movement. Mr Robinson is also a supporter of Don’t Divide Us, a group formed to oppose “culture warriors – who refuse to see us as individuals beyond our skin colour”.

Speaking to Express.co.uk he said: “The whole point of Don’t Divide Us is it’s offering a positive alternative.

“There’s so much negativity out there at the moment we’re saying let’s stop splitting people up based on the colour of their skin and let’s bring everyone back together.

“It’s all about positivity and unity over division.

“There’s so much division within society these days I think things like Don’t Divide Us are needed.

“We get so many emails and letters and calls from people who say this is happening at my school or this is happening at my place of work, what can I do about it.

“Just being able to offer people support, just being able to say you’re not alone, makes such a difference to people.”

This summer saw huge Black Lives Matter protests across the world following the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

In the UK there were demands for statues of figures activists deemed racist, such as of former Prime Ministers Winston Churchill and William Gladstone, to be taken down.

Mr Robinson, a former assistant principle, focused on the destructive impact he believes ‘woke’ identity politics has on ethnic minority children.

He commented: “So if we stand at the front of the classrooms and tell those kids your life is going to be hard because of the colour of your skin, you’re going to have hurdles that you have to overcome, the systemic institutional racist society you live in is holding you back and holding you down. If you say that often enough they will start to believe it.

“Whereas I’m on the mentality we should actually say we live in the best country in the world and it’s the best time to be alive.

“You have pretty much equal opportunities in this country, it’s a free country, if you keep your head down, if you work hard enough, you can make a success of your life and that’s up to you.

“That’s where critical race theory and identity politics comes into play.

“It’s a power struggle, it’s all about holding people back and keeping them under control so you have their votes and stay in power.”

Mr Robinson argued the extreme left have copied the kind of racialised politics more usually associated with the far-right.

He said: “The far-left have adopted the policies of the far-right.

“They’ve flipped the arguments around and are using it in their favour now.

“Because Marxism didn’t work did it.

“So what they’ve done is they’ve left all that behind and the far-left is now saying we’re here to protect the underdogs of this racist society, we’re here to protect the BMEs, so if you’re a BME you have to vote for us and of course we know that’s not the case.”

During the interview Mr Robinson revealed he has suffered shocking abuse for standing up against woke identity politics as a black man.

He stated: “I’ve found the so-called tolerant left are not very tolerant at all.

“The messages about giving black people a voice and listening more to black people and taking their feedback on board, listening to their ‘lived experiences’ as they call it, but whenever I open my mouth I seem to get shut down, abused, quite often racially.

“I don’t understand the argument of saying ‘we need to hear from more black people’ and then oh well not you because you’re the wrong kind of black person.

“You can’t argue for equality and then not expect to have a diverse range of opinions. You can’t expect all people who look alike to think alike and act alike. That is racist.””

  7. Muslim pupil, 11, threatens to BEHEAD his teacher in Germany: Boy had ‘declared it was okay to kill anyone who insulted the Prophet after minute’s silence was held for Samuel Paty’ (dailymail, Nov 11, 2020)
    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8938311/Muslim-pupil-11-threatens-BEHEAD-teacher-Germany.html

“An 11-year-old school pupil in Germany threatened to behead his teacher in a chilling echo of last month’s terror attack in France – a week after saying he approved of the Paris atrocity.

The boy made the violent threat in response to his teacher’s warning that there would be consequences if parents failed to attend a meeting with teachers.

The pupil, who is Muslim, had previously said after a minute’s silence for French school teacher Samuel Paty that ‘you’re allowed to kill someone who insults the Prophet, that’s OK’.

When the school’s headteacher called the boy’s parents to raise the alarm, his mother retorted that the family did not hold such extreme views so the child must have picked them up at school, according to Tagesspiegel.

The threat of violence at the Christian Morgenstern primary school in Spandau, a suburb of Berlin, came after the teacher had stressed the importance of a forthcoming parent’s evening.

She told her class that the meetings were vital because they would allow problems to be raised, adding that there could be consequences for those who refused to take part.

In response to this, the boy said: ‘If that happens because my parents didn’t show up, then I’ll do the same to you as that boy did to the teacher in Paris’…”

  8. ‘Thousands of Foreign Fighters in EU’: Kurz and Macron Meet Over Fight Against Political Islam (breitbart, Nov 11, 2020)
    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2020/11/11/kurz-and-macron-meet-discuss-fight-against-political-islam/

“Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz met with French President Emmanuel Macron to discuss their mutual fight against political Islam.

Chancellor Kurz flew to Paris on Tuesday to meet President Macron in person. They then held a video conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, European Council President Charles Michel, and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen to discuss reforming the Schengen open border agreement.

President Macron went on to link terrorism and illegal immigration saying, according to Le Figaro: “We must not confuse the fight against illegal immigration with terrorism, but we must look clearly at the links between these two phenomena.”

“We must work on an overhaul of the Schengen area … so that it is also a safe area,” Macron added and stated that if Free Movement were one of the EU’s achievements, it was also based “on a promise of protection and security of our external borders”.

“This second promise has not been sufficiently kept,” he added and noted how the Nice church attacker had come to Europe as an illegal migrant from Tunisia, after landing on the Italian island of Lampedusa.

President Macron went on to say: “Public opinion in states facing the terrorist threat will not be able to accept the maintenance of our open borders for long if we do not fundamentally reform the Schengen area.”

Chancellor Kurz, meanwhile, thanked EU member states for their solidarity following the terrorist attack in Vienna last week that left four victims dead. “We are in constant danger,” Kurz said and added that there were thousands of “foreign fighters” within the EU.

The Austrian leader added that the EU must secure its external borders, fight the financing of radical Islamist associations, and combat the ideology of radical Islamism.

Both leaders have promised to crack down on radical Islamist groups following the recent terror attacks in Yvelines, Nice, and Vienna.

France has dissolved associations and temporarily closed a mosque linked to spreading information that contributed to the murder of teacher Samuel Paty, while Austria has raided and closed radical mosques.”

  9. Europe Considers Training its Own Imams to Combat Extremism in Mosques (breitbart, Nov 11, 2020)
    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2020/11/11/european-council-president-supports-eu-training-imams/

“European Council President Charles Michel has announced support for a “European Institute for the Training of Imams” to combat the spread of radical Islamic ideologies in the European Union.

Mr Michel stated that the EU should look at creating an institute to train imams to ensure “that this message of tolerance, of openness, can be conveyed at a European level (…), to ensure that the primacy of civil law is accepted.”

The former Belgian prime minister made his comments during a meeting that included German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Emmanuel Macron, Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz, and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, 7sur7 reports.

Speaking on radical Islamic terrorism, Michel stated: “We consider this terrorist threat to be a fundamental and serious threat to the values that underpin the European project and we do not intend to be weak or lax.”

“It is important to have common strategies to ensure the monitoring of these people. The deradicalisation process is not that simple,” the Council president said, referring to the Vienna terrorist attacker Kujtim Fejzulai who had tried to join Islamic State in the Middle East.

The concept of having imams trained in European countries with the sponsorship of EU member states is not new and has been discussed for well over a decade. In 2004, France appointed a commission of Muslim and non-Muslim scholars to look into training imams in the country.

In 2016, German lawmakers proposed a tax on Muslims to fund domestic mosques and imams, so they did not have to rely on foreign funding from countries like Turkey or Saudi Arabia.

France has also considered putting restrictions on foreign funding for mosques as part of a proposal to reform Islam in the country, along with changing training practices of imams.”

  10. paul j watson – CORONAVIRUS Globalist Klaus Schwab: World Will “Never” Return to Normal After COVID

Elite push for a “great reset”.

In his book Covid-19: The Great Reset, World Economic Forum globalist Klaus Schwab asserts that the world will “never” return to normal, despite him admitting that coronavirus “doesn’t pose a new existential threat.”

Breitbart’s James Delingpole unveils how Schwab is even more explicit in his book about the elite’s plan for exploiting the COVID pandemic than in his public statements.

Schwab has continually pushed for COVID to be exploited to push for a new world order, claiming, “Now is the historical moment of time not only to fight the… virus but to shape the system… for the post-corona era.”

However, he goes further in the book, making it clear that the financial elite will never allow life to return to normal, suggesting that rolling lockdowns and other restrictions will become permanent.

“Many of us are pondering when things will return to normal,” writes Schwab. “The short response is: never. Nothing will ever return to the ‘broken’ sense of normalcy that prevailed prior to the crisis because the coronavirus pandemic marks a fundamental inflection point in our global trajectory.”

The globalist makes this assertion despite admitting that the threat posed by COVID pales in comparison to previous pandemics.

“Unlike certain past epidemics, COVID-19 doesn’t pose a new existential threat,” he writes.

Schwab makes clear that the ‘Fourth Industrial Revolution’ or ‘The Great Reset’ will fundamentally change how the world operates.

“Radical changes of such consequence are coming that some pundits have referred to as ‘before coronavirus’ (BC) and ‘after coronavirus’ (AC) era. We will continue to be surprised by both the rapidity and unexpected nature of these changes – as they conflate with each other, they will provoke second-, third-, fourth- and more-order consequences, cascading effects and unforeseen outcomes,” he writes.

As Delingpole explains in his column, “The Great Reset” merely represents a re-packaging of the old globalist agenda which has been stuttering over the last decade.

Namely, technocratic dictatorial rule by a tiny elite, the “green new deal,” the gradual abolition of private property, a guaranteed minimum wage that will see jobs replaced by robots, a crackdown on personal liberties and curtailing freedom of movement.

As we previously highlighted, the idea that the world will never return to normal post-COVID is being pushed by the establishment across the board.

A senior U.S. Army official said that mask wearing and social distancing will become permanent, while CNN’s international security editor Nick Paton Walsh asserted that the mandatory wearing of masks will become “permanent,” “just part of life,” and that the public would need to “come to terms with it.”

  11. McEnany Announces 234 Pages of Affidavits Alleging Election Irregularities in Michigan
    By Mimi Nguyen Ly

    Print

White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany late Tuesday announced 234 pages of what she said were sworn affidavits alleging election irregularities in a county in Michigan.

McEnany appeared alongside Republican National Committee Chair Ronna McDaniel on Fox News’ “Hannity,” where she shared several allegations listed in the affidavits—statements made under penalty of perjury—from Wayne County.

“We keep hearing the drumbeat of ‘where is the evidence?’ Right here, Sean, 234 pages of sworn affidavits, these are real people, real allegations, signed with notaries,” McEnany said.

“They’re alleging—this is one county, Wayne County, Michigan—they are saying that there was a batch of ballots where 60 percent had the same signature,” she told host Sean Hannity. “They’re saying that 35 ballots had no voter record but they were counted anyway, that 50 ballots were run multiple times through a tabulation machine.”

  12. Germany: Not Islam against Christianity, it’s democratic society against terrorism – Merkel

German Chancellor Angela Merkel spoke at a virtual press conference from Berlin on Tuesday following a meeting of EU countries on anti-terrorism strategies.

“This is not about a confrontation between Islam and Christianity, for example, but this is about the democratic model of society having to confront terrorism and anti-democratic behaviour, and with great frankness and determined strength,” Merkel stated.

She also stressed the need for stricter controls in the Schengen area mentioning the European Travel Information and Authorisation System that’s expected to be launched in 2023.

“I would like to see us talking to Islamic countries about the fight against terrorism and seeking contacts for that purpose. We have done so in recent days, both [European Council President] Charles Michel and I, and [French President] Emmanuel Macron, and we will continue to do so, so that we also have a social dimension, not just a criminal judicial dimension, but a social discussion and dimension of this fight against terrorism,” Merkel concluded.

  13. Brazil: We have to “quit being a country of sissies” – Bolsonaro on COVID-19

President of Brazil Jair Bolsonaro said that Brazil has to “quit being a country of sissies” and face the pandemic ‘head-on,’ in a press conference in Brasilia, on Tuesday.

“Everything now is about the pandemic, this thing has to stop. I’m sorry for the dead, I’m sorry. We’re all gonna die one day, everybody in here is going to die,” Bolsonaro told the press in a ceremony to launch a tourism programme.

The president said the pandemic was ‘overrated’ and claimed, “everything I was saying about the virus back there, and I was beaten like a mangy dog outside the church, it proves to be true.”

Bolsonaro also said that complaining about hate speech is a ‘sissy thing,’ adding that at his time in school, “bullying was beating. Now if you call a guy fat, it’s bullying.”

In his tourism programme launch speech, Bolsonaro also took an indirect swipe at US President-Elect Joe Biden’s recent remarks on possible sanctions against Brazil if the country doesn’t fight deforestation in the Amazon.

“We have just seen a great candidate for state leader say that if I do not put out the fire in the Amazon, he will raise trade barriers against Brazil. And how can we stand up to all this? Diplomacy alone does not work,” Bolsonaro told the press, adding that “when the saliva runs out, you got to have gunpowder.”

  14. Hong Kong opposition lawmakers all quit after four members ousted

Outrage after Beijing imposes new law allowing disqualification of ‘unpatriotic’ legislators

Hong Kong has plunged further into crisis as a new law imposed by Beijing allowing the disqualification of “unpatriotic” opposition members prompted the entire pro-democracy caucus to announce their resignation.

Four sitting legislators were disqualified with immediate effect, with the move heralded as the end of political opposition in the city and “the death-knell of Hong Kong’s democracy fight”.

The measure, passed by China’s highest legislative body on Wednesday, bars anyone from Hong Kong’s legislative council who supports independence, refuses to recognise Beijing’s sovereignty over Hong Kong, seeks help from “foreign countries or foreign forces to interfere in the affairs of the region” or commits “other acts that endanger national security”.

  15. Georgia to manually recount every ballot as Biden leads by 14K votes
‘It will require a full, by-hand recount in each county,’ the secretary of state said

Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger on Wednesday announced that election officials will conduct a manual recount of all presidential ballots as President-elect Joe Biden leads in the state by just over 14,000 votes out of nearly 5 million counted.
    placeholder

Raffensperger previously said the state, which has 16 electoral votes, was headed toward a recount after Election Day due to a narrow gap between Biden and President Trump. The Trump campaign and Republican lawmakers like Georgia Rep. Doug Collins have been pushing for a manual recount.

  16. Russian peacekeepers deploy to secure Nagorno-Karabakh truce
    By DARIA LITVINOVAyesterday

MOSCOW (AP) — Dozens of Russian peacekeepers destined for Nagorno-Karabakh began deploying Tuesday, hours after Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed to halt fighting over the separatist region and amid signs the cease-fire would hold where others hadn’t.

The truce came after significant advances by Azerbaijani forces that the Armenian-backed leader of Nagorno-Karabakh said made it impossible for his side to carry on. It was celebrated in Azerbaijan, but left Armenians bitter, and many stormed government buildings overnight, demanding Parliament invalidate the agreement.

The two countries have been locked in a conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh for decades, and there were concerns the hostilities could escalate and draw in Turkey, which threw its weight behind Azerbaijan, and Russia, which has a security pact with Armenia.

Out of the question? Of course, except for all the leftists who are calling for it.
Wed Nov 11, 2020 Robert Spencer

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-Kolyma) tweeted Friday: “Is anyone archiving these Trump sycophants for when they try to downplay or deny their complicity in the future? I foresee decent probability of many deleted Tweets, writings, photos in the future.” Michael Simon, a former Obama administration staffer, tweeted in response (and later deleted the tweet): “Yes, we are. Every administration staffer, campaign staffer, bundler, lawyer who represented them – everyone.” He linked to “The Trump Accountability Project,” a website that proclaims ominously: “Remember what they did.” Remember it, apparently, in order to hound these people out of public life and into poverty or worse. Is the age of American gulags about to dawn?

Emily Abrams, a Pete Buttigieg campaign worker, tweeted (and then made her account private): “We’re launching the Trump Accountability Project to make sure anyone who took a paycheck to help Trump undermine America is held responsible for what they did.” The Trump Accountability Project website proclaims its intention to destroy Trump supporters:

  19. Where America Now Stands

    Democacy in crisis.
Wed Nov 11, 2020 Caroline Glick

Last Wednesday, supporters of President Donald Trump gathered outside ballot counting centers in Arizona and Michigan to demand a clean and honest vote count. An MSNBC reporter in Arizona filmed the protesters in Maricopa County, where 400,000 ballots were being counted. Standing behind the protesters, the reporter tried to paint the crowd as violent and dangerous even as they stood and kneeled in silent prayer for election integrity.

It was a hard sell, but other reporters quickly got in on the action, and videos appeared throughout the day of reporters describing the swelling crowd chanting “Count the Vote” as violent.

There may be an innocent explanation for the obvious misinformation. Perhaps the men and women with the mics simply don’t know the meaning of the word “violent.” After all, for the past seven months, they have been describing riots replete with broken windows, burning tires and looted stores as “peaceful protests.”

A critical question arises in light of the recent spate of fatal terror attacks in France and other European nations: How do you once and for all eradicate “extremism” from Muslim communities living in the West?

Western leaders usually respond by citing anything and everything from new “initiatives” meant to foster closer relations between Muslim communities and their host nations, to surveillance measures of hot spots and mosques.

Lamentably, history has already proven that even much more draconian measures against Islam—of the sort that modern Western man cannot even conceive let along implement—are doomed to failure.

Consider the historical experiences of France’s neighbor, Spain. In the eighth century, Muslims from Africa invaded and brutally conquered the Iberian Peninsula. Christians were massacred and subjugated; churches were destroyed and/or converted to mosques. By the late fifteenth century, however—after centuries of wars to liberate Spain from Islam (AKA, the Reconquista)—Christian rule finally extended to every corner of the peninsula.

Your file indicates a rapid descent into radical behavior, which motivated your involvement in terrorist activities,” the Board wrote in its most recent decision.

But it said there was “no indication in your file that this kind of terrorist behavior has continued,” and the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) supported his request for overnight privileges.

  22. DeSantis Pushes To Expand Stand Your Ground Law To Allow Citizens To Defend Against Rioters, Looters: Reports

Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has reportedly drafted “anti-mob” legislation that would expand the state’s Stand Your Ground law to allow armed citizens defend themselves against violent rioters and looters.

Written after violent rioters caused billions of dollars of damage to America’s cities over the summer, the proposal would expand the list of under Florida’s self-defense law to justify the use of force against rioters who engage in looting or arson that “results in the interruption or impairment of a business operation.”

  23. MEMRI – Istanbul Friday Sermon by Palestinian Islamic Scholar Mahmoud Al-Hasanat: Fight France!

Palestinian Islamic scholar Mahmoud Al-Hasanat said in an October 30 Friday sermon in Istanbul that was posted on YouTube by Al-Irtiqa Islamic Center that the Islamic nation is an army of 1.5 billion people who are prepared to defend the Prophet Muhammad.

Speaking about France, he said that the “time for admonishment” is over, and he called on his audience to boycott French products and “fight them anywhere.”

Al-Hasanat also said that French President Emmanuel Macron does not yet know that the entire Islamic nation is prepared to sacrifice their blood and souls for the sake of the Prophet Muhammad.

Saadallah stabbed U.S. citizen Mr Ritchie-Bennett and history teacher Mr Furlong each once in the neck, and stabbed Mr Wails, a scientist, in the back. The three men, all reportedly part of the local LGBT community, died at the scene.

Saadallah also admitted to three charges of attempted murder against the three men’s friend, Stephen Young, and Nishit Nisudan and Patrick Edwards, according to the BBC. He had stabbed the three other men who were sitting in a nearby group, leaving them seriously injured. The attack, committed with a large kitchen knife, lasted two minutes. The park had been full at the time with other people, including families. It was declared a “terrorist incident” within hours of the attack….”

  25. Austria to Ban ‘Political Islam’ in Wake of Europe Terror Attacks (breitbart, Nov 11, 2020)
    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2020/11/11/austria-to-ban-political-islam-in-wake-of-europe-terror-attacks/

“Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz announced on Wednesday that his government will be creating new laws to prosecute those who propagate political Islamic ideologies.

The Austrian leader took to Twitter to announce Wednesday that the government would be creating a new criminal offence called “political Islam” to prosecute those who “create a breeding ground” for radical Islamic terrorism.

“In the fight against political Islam, we will create a criminal offence called ‘political Islam’ in order to be able to take action against those who are not terrorists themselves, but who create the breeding ground for it,” Kurz said.

In a subsequent Tweet, the Austrian chancellor said that there could be further closures of radical mosques, the introduction of a register for imams, and said that “measures will be taken to drain financial flows for terrorist financing.”

The move comes after Kurz called on the European Union to combat the problem of radical Islamic ideologies following last week’s terrorist attack in Vienna that saw the deaths of four people killed by a radical Islamic gunman in the heart of the Austrian capital.

“Now, it is important that we resolutely continue the fight. Not only against Islamist terrorism but also against the ideological basis behind it — that is, against political Islam and radical Islamism,” Kurz said last week.

“The European Union must lead the fight against Islamist terrorism, but especially against the political base behind it — that is to say, political Islam, with all determination and unity,” he added.

Kurz also met with French President Emmanuel Macron this week to discuss cooperation between the two countries on tackling radical Islamic ideologies. Both leaders linked illegal migration flows to recent terrorist attacks.

“We must not confuse the fight against illegal immigration with terrorism, but we must look clearly at the links between these two phenomena,” President Macron said Tuesday.

Macron has called on European Union leaders to reform the internal open-border Schengen agreement to make the political bloc safer, saying, “Public opinion in states facing the terrorist threat will not be able to accept the maintenance of our open borders for long if we do not fundamentally reform the Schengen area.””

“Following the incident, the police station was evacuated and police are now working at the scene. No injuries have been reported so far.

One person was detained in connection with the incident. London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade are also working at the scene.

According to a witness at the scene, who shared a video online, the man was trying to set the street near the police station on fire but he was arrested.

  28. Saudi-Led Coalition Intercepts Two Explosive-Laden Boats Deployed by Houthis – Report (sputniknews, Nov 11, 2020)
    https://sputniknews.com/middleeast/202011111081132859-saudi-led-coalition-intercepts-two-explosive-laden-boats-deployed-by-houthis—report/

“Saudi state television reported Wednesday evening that two explosives-laden boats deployed by the Yemeni Houthi movement had been intercepted in the southern Red Sea.

According to the report, the boats were launched from the port of Hudaydah.

Earlier this week, the Saudis also said they shot down an explosives-laden drone launched by the Houthis toward Saudi territory. Another explosives-laden boat was intercepted last month.
Since 2015, Saudi Arabia and several allies, including the United Arab Emirates, have been waging a war in Yemen against the Houthi movement after they threw out Yemeni President Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi, an ally of Riyadh, claiming his government’s rule was unfair toward poorer areas of the country, such as the northern border region from which the Houthis hail.

The Houthis have established control over much of the country, but their war with the Saudi-led coalition and Saudi-allied militias in the country continues, even as the Houthis have become able to mount deep strikes into Saudi territory, such as one claimed attack in September 2019 that temporarily disabled two petroleum facilities in Eastern Province.
The war has devastated Yemen, killing close to a quarter-million Yemenis by the end of 2019, according to estimates by Amnesty International, and brought widespread disease and famine to millions more.”

  29. France’s Marine Le Pen Refuses to Recognise Joe Biden’s Victory at US Presidential Election (sputniknews, Nov 11, 2020)

“Le Pen also remarked that she was “rather astonished” by how the media went on to announce the result of the US election, “when we know that there are appeals currently being studied by the justice system”.

Although US presidential candidate for the Democrats, Joe Biden, has already been proclaimed president-elect by major media outlets in the country, Marine Le Pen, head of the French political party The National Rally, stated that she “absolutely does not” recognise Biden’s victory at this point, Radio France Internationale reports.

According to the media outlet, Le Pen, who was among the first to congratulate Trump upon his electoral victory in 2016, argued that “justice must be allowed to decide” the outcome of the election.

“I’m among those who will not congratulate the future president of the United States, because I don’t consider the game to be over until we’ve gone into overtime,” she said.

Delivering this remark while speaking with journalists on the sidelines of a Remembrance Day ceremony in Henin-Beaumont, a commune in her constituency of Pas-de-Calais, Le Pen also voiced her opinion on the media coverage of the US election.

“I am rather astonished to see the media… rush to announce a result when we know that there are appeals currently being studied by the justice system,” she said.

With US media outlets having labelled Biden president-elect, some world leaders, including French President Emmanuel Macron and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, have congratulated the Democratic candidate.

US President Donald Trump, however, has not admitted his defeat, and his campaign moved to raise several legal challenges against the election results in a number of key swing states.”

  32. Biden Coronavirus Task Force Member Profited Off Lockdown Policies He Pushed: Report

Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, who was named to Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden’s coronavirus task force on Monday, profited off lockdown policies he used his expertise to advocate for, critics say.

Biden named his coronavirus task force after a number of major media outlets declared him the winner of the 2020 presidential election. President Donald Trump is continuing to litigate the election in court over instances of voter fraud that his campaign argues may have influenced the outcome of the election.

That mark our place, and in the sky,
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead. start days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glo,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
    In Flanders fields.

On this day November the 11, at Canada’s Remembrance Day Ceremony in Canada’s Capital, Ottawa, the roads were blocked around the War Memorial, with large dump trucks to keep the “little” people away. police were stationed with rifles facing the people who did manage to attend the ceremony.

In a proper inaugural ceremony next January 20, absent artifice and minus political cliches, Joe Biden would be called to stand and put his hand on the Bible, and assisted in so doing, and then would start to repeat the phrases prompted by the Chief Justice.

He would begin, “I, Joe Non-Trump, do solemnly swear … ”

That persona is essentially what got him elected — that is, he was the Non-Trump. What was reckoned to be creeping dementia — a strategy to keep Joe in a closet with the lights out — might have been ordered by a clever Democrat psy-op director who actually learned a lesson from the Hillary campaign.

  35. Pakistani Al-Qaeda Bomb-Maker Mohammad Hanif Killed in Afghanistan
    https://www.thedefensepost.com/2020/11/11/al-qaeda-bomb-maker-killed/

“A Pakistani bomb-maker who trained Taliban militants before switching allegiance to Al-Qaeda has been killed in western Afghanistan, the country’s intelligence agency said Tuesday.

The National Directorate of Security said Mohammad Hanif was a close aide to Asim Omar, who headed Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS) and was killed in a joint US-Afghan operation in 2019.

The agency said Hanif, originally from Karachi, had “close relations” with the Taliban and helped train militants in making car bombs and improvised explosive devices.

It said he was initially a member of the Taliban, but joined Al-Qaeda in 2010.

Officials have long accused the hardline Taliban of maintaining close links to Al-Qaeda, blamed for the deadly September 11, 2001 attacks on the United States.

Two Pakistani women were also detained in the operation that led to Hanif’s killing, the NDS said, without providing further details.

    The Taliban have not commented.

Hanif’s killing comes just days after security agents killed Abu Muhsin al-Masri, a top Al-Qaeda militant long-wanted by the United States.

The Taliban’s sheltering Al-Qaeda and its leader Osama bin Laden was the main justification for the US-led invasion of Afghanistan in 2001.

Some 19 years later, in a landmark deal with Washington made in February, the Taliban agreed not to allow Afghan soil to be used by foreign extremists — including Al-Qaeda — in return for the US withdrawing all troops.

Separately, the Taliban and the Afghan government are currently engaged in peace talks that were launched in September but have failed to make any significant progress.”

  36. Free Speech Platform Parler Adds 4.5 MILLION New Users as Conservatives Flee Big Tech Authoritarianism and Censorship

    Parler is exploding.

The CEO of free speech social media platform Parler announced that almost five million people have signed up for his service in the aftermath of the disputed US presidential election, representing a tidal wave of conservatives, right-wingers, and nationalists sick and tired of Twitter’s overbearing and constant left-wing censorship tactics.

“People from all walks of life, fed up with opaque, biased content curation, inconsistent agenda-driven fact checking, and manipulative algorithms built on data mining, are joining Parler to speak free. Since Friday, over 4.5 million new people have created accounts, and engagement has surged. Over 5 million individuals were active on Parler yesterday, an 8-fold increase from daily activity just a week ago. Our session activity has increased by well over 20 times during the same period,” Parler CEO John Matze said in a statement.

Parler took the #1 spot on Apple’s app store, an encouraging development for First Amendment principles. However, the platform’s rising popularity may be met with the usual tactics of cowardly censorship from Apple, a company that has shown itself to be more than willing to block software that allows for free expression on the internet.

Matze cited Twitter’s and Facebook dishonest and deceptive marketing tactics and censorship as the driving factor in growing the popularity of Parler.
