Reader’s Links on October 25, 2020

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  1. I have wondered if the average American realizes how close they came to losing their country in the War of 1812? Lord knows how the British Armed Forces, fresh from defeating Napoleon Bonaparte, failed to squish them flat in a few months. The Americans really lucked out that time.

But now they are in the same position all over again. If Donald Trump actually fails to hold onto his seat in the face of such blatant corruption and incompetence on the Democrat side it will signal that the situation is hopeless and that the media and the left have succeeded in taking over the country and the “America Experiment” has failed and there is no point continuing to try. It’s binary. If Trump wins there is hope. If Trump loses, the good old USA is toast and will start to fragment and form new countries along political lines. The average American is not going to stand for living in a gun-free corrupt neo-Venezuelan socialist hell-based-on-lies with people like Joe and Hillary and Nancy running the show…

Meanwhile, Canada will re-form into “New China”, “New India”, and “New Pakistan” and white Canadians will be living in squalid camps eating moldy bread crusts and water soup in reparation for all the terrible, terrible racist sexist things we have done…

    • We have been told for years what racist, xenophobic, ISLAMOPHOBIC, fear mongers we are. You can prove that you are not hateful if you welcome with open arms 351,000 migrants in 2021.

Justine has told us there is no money for our veterans.

The disgraceful Imam, MAZIN Abdul-Adhim has told us our Canadian soldiers are war criminals. He calls for caliphate and is still allowed to live in Canada. I asked a silly woman who always votes Liberal if she was Ok with his sedition and she said “she does not want to talk about Muslims”.

The same silly woman who votes Liberal always, was bitching to me about not having a doctor for years, so I asked her if she was OK with bringing more migrants and she told me “that has nothing to do with it”.

  2. Tensions at Italian Migrant Centre Under Quarantine Erupt into Violence (breitbart, Oct 25, 2020)

“Tensions are at a boiling point at a migrant centre under lockdown in Valderice, after being the site of several brawls, violent incidents, and arsons.

Following a series of incidents, the Italian carabinieri now patrols the area near the centre along with the Guardia di Finanza — a militarised police unit under the jurisdictions of the defence and finance ministries. Both forces are also tasked with preventing migrants who may be infected with the Wuhan coronavirus from escaping.

Gabriele Palermo, municipal councillor of Valderice, told newspaper Il Giornale: “The situation is now unsustainable and delicate, which is leading to exasperation among the inhabitants of the area. Citizens are tired and can no longer live their normal lives.”

Last month, the centre, which was previously a hotel, saw migrants burn mattresses and other items to protest being kept under quarantine. Two Tunisian migrants jumped from the windows, resulting in their hospitalisation with serious bone fractures.

Since then, tensions have remained high at the migrant centre with one resident commenting: “Here every night there is a guerrilla war going on among the migrants. You don’t sleep anymore, and we can’t have serenity.”

The town’s mayor, Francesco Stabile, has written to Italian Interior Minister Luciana Lamorgese, detailing the violent conflicts between locals and the newly arrived migrants.

“I do not hide the difficulty I experience on a daily basis in instilling security and protection for my fellow citizens,” Stabile wrote. Others, meanwhile, have complained there simply are not enough police officers present to deal with any serious unrest at the facility.

Italy has seen a wave of new migrant arrivals in recent weeks with many testing positive for the Wuhan coronavirus. Earlier this month, 21 of 57 migrants who arrived in Calabria tested positive for the virus.

Along with several other European countries, Italy has seen a major surge in new coronavirus cases. It has prompted regions to implement curfews and raised the possibility of potential lockdowns.”

  3. At least 14 civilians killed by booby traps in Egypt’s Sinai (abcnews, Oct 25, 2020)

“More than a dozen civilians, including women and children, were killed in Egypt’s restive northern Sinai Peninsula over the past two weeks from explosive devices laid down in their homes by militants, security and medical officials said Sunday.

Islamic State militants in July attacked several villages in the town of Bir al-Abd, forcing people to flee their homes. The military then secured the villages in August and allowed residents to return to their homes a few weeks later, the officials said.

The militants, however, had laid booby traps in several houses that killed at least 14 people, including six from the same family late on Saturday, officials said. The causalities included women and children.

At least ten others have been wounded since Oct. 12 and were taken to the town’s hospital for treatment, they said. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to brief the media.

Bir al-Abd was the site of a horrific extremist attack on a mosque in 2017 that killed over 300 worshippers, some of them fathers praying with their young sons. The tribes of North Sinai have been heavily targeted by militants who view their veneration of Muslim saints and shrines as heretical, forcing a mass exodus of residents from the impoverished area that has long been underdeveloped by the government.

Violence and instability there intensified after the military overthrew the country’s Islamist president in 2013 amid nationwide protests against the Muslim Brotherhood group’s divisive rule. Extremist militants have since carried out scores of attacks, mainly targeting security forces and minority Christians.

The conflict has largely taken place out of public view, with journalists and outside observers barred from the area. The conflict has so far not expanded into the southern end of the peninsula where popular Red Sea tourist resorts are located.

In February 2018, the military launched a massive operation in Sinai that also encompassed parts of the Nile Delta and deserts along the country’s western border with Libya. Since then, the pace of Islamic State attacks in Sinai’s north has diminished.”

  4. Turkey: “Macron needs mental treatment” says Erdogan

Turkish President Erdogan said that Macron needs “mental treatment” and criticised Germany following the recent police raid on a Berlin mosque.

“Macron needs treatment at a mental point. What else can you say to a head of state who doesn’t understand the freedom of faith, freedom of belief and treats millions of different people of faith living in his own country in this way,” Erdogan said in a speech at a provincial congress of his AK Party in Kayseri on Saturday.

“In Europe, we are faced with signs of a recent escalating hostility to Islam, which is new and worrying every day. The disrespectful raid on a mosque in Germany with hundreds of police cannot be explained by security concerns or for any other reason. It’s called outright Islam,” said Erdogan.

The mosque raid was carried out after a school teacher was beheaded in Paris last week.

The 47-year-old history teacher was beheaded outside his school on October 16, in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, northwest of Paris by an 18-year-old attacker who was subsequently shot dead by police.

Paty had previously shown caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad to his students during a discussion on freedom of speech in class. According to French prosecutors, two students at Paty’s school were paid to identify the teacher by his eventual killer.

SOT, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of Turkey (Turkish): “In Libya, the democratic record of everyone who sided with the coup plotters rather than the legitimate rule of the country has been broken. No country that supports coup plotters, especially France, now has a word for democracy struggles in other parts of the world. And what is the problem with Islam?”

SOT, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of Turkey (Turkish): “Macron needs treatment at a mental point. What else can you say to a head of state who doesn’t understand the freedom of faith, freedom of belief, and treats millions of different people of faith living in his own country in this way. First of all, mental control. We’re dealing with Erdogan every two to one, and dealing with Erdogan won’t do you any good. There’s an election here in a year. We’ll see how it goes in the election. I don’t think it’s far. Why? He didn’t bring anything to France so he could get himself something.”

SOT, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of Turkey (Turkish): “On the other hand, in Europe we are faced with signs of a recent escalating hostility to Islam, which is new and worrying every day. The disrespectful raid on a mosque in Germany with hundreds of police cannot be explained by security concerns or for any other reason. It’s called outright Islam. Have we made the like of this in the temples of the Christians as Muslims? We didn’t, and we don’t. Because there’s no such understanding in our character.”

Could this be the mother of all gaffes? Before you answer, be aware that the very strange boast Joe Biden makes in this short clip does not appear to be the result of “Joe being Joe” or one of his verbal miscues. He is reading from a prepared script. The halting and tentative manner in which he enunciates the words moreover suggests that he himself can’t believe what it says on the page in front of him.

  8. Pakistan’s PM Khan accuses Macron of ‘attacking Islam’

Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan accused French President Emmanuel Macron on Sunday of “attacking Islam”, after the European leader criticised Islamists and defended the publication of cartoons depicting the Prophet Mohammed.

“By attacking Islam, clearly without having any understanding of it, President Macron has attacked & hurt the sentiments of millions of Muslims in Europe & across the world,” Khan said.

    twitter Iram Khan

It is unfortunate that he has chosen to encourage Islamophobia by attacking Islam rather than the terrorists who carry out violence, be it Muslims, White Supremacists or Nazi ideologists. Sadly, President Macron has chosen to deliberately provoke Muslims, incl his own citizens,

through encouraging the display of blasphemous cartoons targeting Islam & our Prophet PBUH. By attacking Islam, clearly without having any understanding of it, President Macron has attacked & hurt the sentiments of millions of Muslims in Europe & across the world.

Turkey’s Communications Director Fahrettin Altun on Sunday said the EU is increasingly becoming dangerous for Muslims.

Europe’s hostility towards Muslims and efforts to ‘discipline’ them is inseparable from the increasingly widespread hostility towards Islam, Turkey and our president Recep Tayyip Erdo?an.

Here’s what those Europeans need to understand: Muslims won’t go away because you don’t want us. We won’t turn the other cheek when you insult us. We will defend ourselves and our own at all costs.

  9. Joe Biden’s absence from Chinese venture business records doesn’t rule out his involvement

Joe Biden is not named in the corporate records related to Hunter Biden’s 2017 business dealings with a Chinese firm, but a much-publicized email purportedly referencing the former vice president as the “big guy” shows that the stakeholders were considering having an intermediary hold his stake in the venture.

Daily Caller News Foundation found no records in a trove of text messages and other documents from Hunter Biden’s ex-business partner Tony Bobulinski indicating that Joe Biden obtained any off-the-books stake in Oneida Holdings when its structure was finalized in May 2017.

  11. ‘UNACCEPTABLE!’ Ex-rear admiral furious at oil tanker emergency – ‘Channel is insecure!’ (express, Oct 25, 2020)

“THE suspected hijacking of an oil tanker in the English Channel is “unacceptable”, a former rear admiral has said, as he hit out at the level of security in UK waters.

Speaking in Portsmouth, maritime risk expert Christopher Parry said the locals felt “quite worried” about the unfolding incident. He said the zig-zagging pattern the Nave Andromeda has taken today suggested that the captain and crew “are not in control”. Mr Parry told Sky News: “We’ve got a rogue ship sitting off the Isle of Wight.”

He added: “I think we’ve been saying over the last few months that it’s essential to have a safe and secure maritime border and hopefully this was picked up by our surveillance activities rather than actually being reported from the ship.

“But it does indicate that the Channel is an insecure area which the Government has to take control of.

“As I said earlier, we’re sitting off Britain’s premier naval port and it’s unacceptable.”

The Nave Andromeda is registered in Liberia and set sail from Nigeria on October 6.

It had been due to dock at Southampton this morning.

Sky News said “at least half a dozen stowaways” were found onboard.

The editor of Lloyd’s List has said seven stowaways have been found.

Local media reported the group attempted to hijack the vessel.

It is not yet clear if they succeeded in gaining control of the tanker but tracking data suggests the crew are not in control.

Hampshire Police said: “We are aware and dealing with an ongoing incident on board a vessel which is situated south of the Isle of Wight”.

HM Coastguard said search and rescue helicopters were attending the incident but did not give details.

MP Bob Seely, who represents the Isle of Wight constituency closest to the vessel, told Sky News he expected the incident to be handled by marine counter-terrorism forces, but that it was too early to call it a hijacking.

The Tory lawmaker said the “ship may be now under the control of the stowaways”.

Speaking this afternoon, he said an emergency Cobra meeting had been called to discuss the incident and may have already taken place.

Cobra meetings are chaired by the Prime Minister during times of crisis, with top advisers discussing different courses of action.

The aim of such meetings is to make fast, effective decisions during a crisis and coordinate the response of the Government.

Mr Seely said he believed the suspected hijacking would be “treated pretty quickly”.

Two coastguard helicopters have been scrambled to the scene and were spotted circling the ship on Sunday afternoon, and an exclusion zone was set up in the area south of Sandown.

A coastguard spokeswoman said: “We are currently assisting Hampshire Constabulary with an incident on board a vessel situated off the Isle of Wight.

“The search and rescue helicopters from Lee on Solent and Lydd are in attendance.””

  12. Turkey condemns police storming of Berlin mosque
The Turkish Foreign Ministry on Thursday strongly condemned the police storming of a Berlin mosque, calling it an ugly act, disregarding the sanctity of a place of worship.
“A raid on a mosque with a large number of police officers on the grounds of a financial investigation while the community was gathered for the morning prayer is never acceptable,” the statement read, saying this act was not only against the Mevlana Mosque community but also against the Muslim community as a whole. “It is also a new example of the prejudiced, discriminatory and disproportionate treatment suffered by Germany’s Muslim community, which is close to 5 million,” it said.
German police on Wednesday stormed the Mevlana Mosque and several other establishments in Berlin as part of an investigation into a coronavirus subsidy fraud, Turkey’s German-language public broadcaster TRT Deutsch reported Thursday.[..]

Oct 24 2020 Police raid on Berlin mosque brings “Europe closer to Middle Ages”– Erdogan
The German police raided Mevlana Mosque in Berlin on Wednesday over what it said was a financial investigation. The mosque rejected the allegation.
Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has denounced a German police raid earlier this week on a mosque in Berlin.
“I strongly condemn the police raid on Mevlana Mosque in Berlin during the morning prayers,” Erdogan said on Twitter, adding the police action was “obviously nourished by racism and Islamophobia, totally flouting freedom of belief, and bringing Europe closer to the darkness of the Middle Ages.”
“Europe, which for years has been referred to as the cradle of democracy, human rights, and freedoms, has today unfortunately turned into a structure that fights its differences,” Erdogan said.
Erdogan stressed that Turkey would never allow any excuse for vulgar violations of any place of worship.
Turkey will decisively continue its global fight against racism, xenophobia and Islamophobia, he added.
Earlier Turkish foreign ministry “strongly condemned” the police raid, saying the incursion of some 150 personnel with boots during morning prayers was “inexplicable” and an “ugly act.”
“Such an ugly act in the capital of a country that tries to lecture others on freedom of expression and belief is also thought-provoking,” the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Friday.
“This raid was not only against the community in the Mevlana mosque; it was also an act against all the Muslim community, and it is inexplicable,” it said.

  13. Pope Francis Compares Today’s European Nationalism with Pre-Nazi Germany (breitbart, Oct 25, 2020)

“Pope Francis suggested Saturday that Europe is repeating the errors of pre-Nazi Germany by allowing new anti-immigration nationalisms to take hold.

In an address to socialist Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, Pope Francis recommended a book by “an Italian intellectual from the Communist Party” with the “very evocative title: Syndrome 1933.”

In his 2019 book, Siegmund Ginzberg compared what was happening with the rise of Adolf Hitler and the Nazi party in 1933 to 2019 Italy, where a new anti-immigrant nationalism and populism threaten to become the dominant political movement.

The book “refers to Germany, obviously,” the pope said Saturday. “With the fall of the Weimar Republic emerged a whole mix of possibilities to get out of the crisis. And there an ideology began to show that the path was National Socialism and it went on and on and arrived at what we know: the drama that was Europe with that homeland invented by an ideology.”

“Because ideologies sectarianize, ideologies deconstruct the homeland, they do not build,” Francis continued. “Learn that from history. And this man in that book very delicately makes a comparison with what is happening in Europe. He says: Be careful that we are repeating the similar path.”

“It is worth reading,” he said.

“It is very sad when ideologies take over the interpretation of a nation, a country, and disfigure the homeland,” he said, adding that “I hope it never happens to us.”

According to at least one journalist’s interpretation of Ginzberg’s book, the direct analogy with Hitler concerns the leader of Italy’s Lega party, Matteo Salvini.

The book presents “disturbing analogies with the present day of our country, in which the rise of the Northern League leader seems to replicate the same characteristics of his tragic predecessor for a whole series of reasons,” wrote Sergio Caserta in Il Fatto Quotidiano shortly after the book’s release.

“The focus, the center of the political message of every aspiring dictator is the identification of the ‘enemy,’” Caserta wrote. “For the Nazis at that time it was the Jews, but also Communists, nomads and others, starting with gays,” he said, while today “they are basically migrants, who, in the Salvinian imagination, are the cause responsible for every possible peril: terrorism, crime, disease, but also more materially, competitors for every possible right: work, home, healthcare, and social assistance.”

“Still today, Matteo Salvini identifies evil, more than with his political opponents, with the left and social centers, NGOs, and even the Church in the person of the pope and those who are committed to defending the rights of migrants.”

Saturday’s off-the-cuff address was not the first time that Pope Francis compares today’s populist and pro-sovereignty movements in Europe with Hitler’s rise to power in the early 1930s.

In a 2017 interview, the pope said that “the most typical example of populism in the European sense is the Germany of 1933.”

After Hindenburg, “Germany tries to get back up, searches for its identity, looks for a leader, someone to give it back its identity and a youngster named Adolf Hitler says, ‘I can do it; I can do it,’” Francis said.

The risk of such populism, he said, is that in times of crisis people can begin to think: “Let’s look for a savior who gives us back our identity and let’s defend ourselves with walls, barbed-wire, whatever, from other people that may rob us of our identity.”

Again in 2018, Francis compared European populists to Adolf Hitler, suggesting that populism caused the Second World War.

“It is important for young people to know how populism is born,” the pope said. “I think of Hitler in the last century, who had promised development for Germany. They should know how populisms begin: by sowing hate. You can’t live sowing hate.”

The pope’s words followed upon the election of Italy’s first elected populist government in decades, formed by a coalition between the progressive, Eurosceptic 5-Star Movement and the pro-sovereignty Lega party.

“Study your history, this is the way the Führer started, with racial purity,” he said. “We are now in full World War III fought piecemeal and even religion is deformed to be able to hate better.”

“Making hatred grow, creating violence and division represents a path to destruction and suicide,” the pope added.

Increased efforts are needed to teach the young about the history of the First and Second World Wars “so they do not fall into the same error and so they know how populism spreads,” he said.

And once again in 2019, the pope returned to the same theme, implicitly comparing the populist rhetoric of Matteo Salvini with that of Hitler.

“Sovereignism” — the movement spearheaded in Italy by Salvini — reveals “an attitude toward isolation,” the pope said. “I am concerned because we hear speeches that resemble those of Hitler in 1934. ‘Us first, We…We…’ These are frightening thoughts.”

“Sovereignism means being closed,” the pope continued. “A country should be sovereign but not closed. Sovereignty must be defended, but relations with other countries and with the European community must also be protected and promoted.”

“Sovereignism is an exaggeration that always ends badly: it leads to war,” he said.”

  14. 25 October 2020 Police dealing with security incident involving number of stowaways on oil tanker off Isle of Wight
A Coastguard helicopter has been circling the Nave Andromeda, which had been due to dock in Southampton this morning.
Police are dealing with a security incident caused by stowaways aboard an oil tanker off the Isle of Wight.
Seven stowaways – thought to be from Nigeria – are onboard, Richard Meade, editor of shipping news journal Lloyd’s List, told Sky News.
Crew members had found them and tried to lock them in a cabin but the situation became violent and the security alarm was raised, Mr Meade said.
He added that the group are believed to have entered the vessel – named the Nave Andromeda – through the rudder trunk.
Sky’s home affairs correspondent Mark White said at least half a dozen stowaways were discovered at some point today and that crew were sheltering at secure points on the ship.
The vessel was due to dock in Southampton at 10.30am today and a Coastguard helicopter is circling the ship.
A restriction zone of five nautical miles is now in place around the vessel.
Hampshire Police have also deployed their own helicopter over the Isle of Wight..
Local MP Bob Seely has told Sky News he expects the incident will be handled by marine counter-terrorism forces and that a COBRA emergency meeting has likely either been held or is due to be held.
He said authorities are also likely to be planning how to get onto the ship.
“They will be looking at the ship’s registration, who’s on it, what it is carrying, how many stowaways there are, can they get in contact with the crew if they can’t get in contact with the skipper,” he said.
The 228-metre long ship is carrying 42,000 tonnes of crude oil and left Lagos, Nigeria, on 6 October before heading for Southampton.
The vessel had made a number of zig-zags around the area just off the Isle of Wight within a couple of hours, according to Marine Traffic.
It is registered in Liberia and operated by Greek shipping firm Folegrandos.

However, this does not mean it is a Liberian ship as vessels can be registered anywhere recognised by the international shipping authorities.

It is believed the stowaways were found at around 10.45am today, when the ship began its erratic zig-zagging.

If crew members are indeed sheltering on the ship, they could be on the vessel’s bridge, according to Sky’s Mark White.
They would be able to lock the area around the bridge to make it secure.
“It is clearly a serious incident that is unfolding,” Mr White said.
“For the authorities, as well as ensuring this tanker comes into no harm, they want to make sure any other vessels around this oil tanker are safe and out of the way.
“But the top priority for the authorities is to make sure the crew are safe.”
He added that the route is well-known for people smuggling – with immigrants coming from countries such as Iran, Iraq, Nigeria and Somalia – but the investigation is still in very early stages.

In the U.S. there is case law confirming that reputational losses relating to conversion of the rights of a contributor to a GPLed project are judicable in law. I do not know the case law outside the U.S., but in countries observing the Berne Convention without the U.S.’s opt-out of the “moral rights” clause, that clause probably gives the objectors an even stronger case.”
              The controversy

Activists from the feminist and LGBTQIA+ communities have been trying to force the Linux project to join the Contributor Covenant since at least 2015. The Contributor Covenant is an agreement to implement a special Code of Conduct (frequently CoC from now on) aimed at changing the predominantly white, straight, and male face of programming. CC’s Code of Conduct is controversial particularly because it allows anyone to be banned from contributing code for any reason, usually with no mechanism for oversight or accountability.

On September 16 the pro-CoC side got their wish (how this happened is a very strange story of its own, read recent news about Linus Torvalds’ departure if you want to know more) — Linux had officially committed to implementing and obeying the CC Code of Conduct — and they immediately set about using it to remove top Linux coders. Sage Sharp, who describes theyself as a “diversity & inclusion consultant, hufflepuff, non-binary agender trans masculine” and has 7k followers, cites GeekFeminismWiki and targets Google’s Theo Ts’o with accusations of being a rape apologist:

  16. Germany: Hundreds rally against racism in Dresden ahead of Pegida anniversary

Hundreds of people took to the streets in Dresden on Sunday, to support values such as tolerance and equality over racism, on the day when the far-right Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamisation of the Occident (Pegida) group was set to celebrate its sixth anniversary.

People gathered for the demonstration in the Neumarkt square, under the motto “heart instead of agitation.” Pegida had called off their rally on Sunday and postponed it to another date due to the pandemic.

For this reason, the demonstration’s organisers decided to host a counter-demo and wrote on Facebook that they wanted to use this day “to take to the streets together for our idea of ??a good togetherness.”

TOLERAVE eV, the main organiser of the event, is an alliance of Dresden cultural workers in electronic music and civil society actors who aim at fighting the current climate marked by xenophobia and ignorance.

Pegida was founded in Dresden in October 2014 and its rallies in it and other German cities have been a polarising influence, with mass counter protests frequently occurring.

  17. Defund NPR: Man Plots to Kill Biden, NPR Omits From Story That He Was Bernie Bro With Books on Islam
BY ROBERT SPENCER OCT 25, 2020 3:24 PM ET
We don’t really need yet another reason to defund NPR, but here’s a new one anyway. It reported on Friday that Alexander Hillel Treisman, a 19-year-old from North Carolina, was arrested when police investigating a report that his van was abandoned “looked into the van’s windows and saw an array of items: an AR-15 rifle, the box for a handgun, a canister of explosive material, and a box of ammunition, according to a court document. Police say they towed and searched the van, finding more than $500,000 in cash, drawings of swastikas and planes crashing into buildings, books on survival and bomb-making, and a half-dozen firearms.” Not surprisingly for one of the flagships of the hard Left’s propaganda machine, NPR left a few significant details out of its report.

The Daily Beast, of all people, fills in the blanks, reporting that Treisman’s van contained “books about survival, bomb making, improvised weapons, and Islam.” The books on survival and bomb-making made NPR’s report, but not the books on Islam. NPR seems to be following what has by now become standard establishment media practice: minimize, whitewash, or ignore outright any aspect of a news story that might make people think ill of the Left’s favored religion, Islam.

NPR also didn’t see fit to note that Treisman, who has not yet been charged for plotting against Biden but was charged early in October with possessing “a total of 1,248 videos and 6,721 images of child pornography content,” is not the “right-wing extremist” that many Twitter Leftists have assumed (and hoped) that he was. The first comment on The Huffington Post’s article is: “Another Trump-loving incel – complete with swastikas to boot. He bought the full MAGA package apparently. White House gift shop?” Another added: “The president is an inspiration to the next generation of domestic terrorists — ready to defend white supremacy to the death — nice work there Trumpers.”

But in reality, Treisman is not a Trumper, but one of the Left, a supporter of Bernie Sanders.

The HuffPo, like NPR, doesn’t bother to inform its readers about this at all. Other reliably Leftist “news” organs did mention it, but only in a manner that would ensure that as few people as possible actually saw it. Buried in the fifteenth paragraph of the Washington Post story on Treisman is the salient fact that this psychopath himself explained that he wanted to kill Biden in order to “save bernie [sic].” The Times of Israel waited sixteen paragraphs before it got around to mentioning this.

Treisman wrote on the Internet platform iFunny: “My hatred is for the complacent American people who will turn u in for their own satisfaction. But aside from former goals, my eyes on the future. If anything I have to save bernie.” Then he wondered on the same platform: “should I kill joe biden?”

These were not just idle words. According to NPR, “Treisman bought the AR-15 rifle in New Hampshire and then traveled to a Wendy’s restaurant within 4 miles of Biden’s home in Delaware, federal agents say. He allegedly wrote out a checklist that had as its last task: ‘execute.’”

Apparently, Treisman lost his nerve, as he made no attempt on Biden’s life and returned to North Carolina, where he was living at the time. But he had already done quite enough to be of tremendous service to the establishment media. As another Huffington Post commenter wrote: “Fox nation look in the mirror!”

Actually, if anyone should look in the mirror, it is the supporters of Bernie Sanders and other hard-Leftists whose hateful rhetoric and refusal to condemn antifa violence has created a climate in which the likes of Alexander Treisman can think they’re doing something heroic by plotting to murder a corrupt machine politician who is slightly less Leftist than his hero.

But most of those who are imagining a MAGA hat on Treisman today don’t even know he was actually one of their own, because their trusted media outlets such as NPR and the Huffington Post will bury that information or not bother to tell them at all. By such propagandistic delusions, the modern Left is energized.

  18. Iranian General Deplores Canadian Police’ Refusal to Arrest Fugitive Banker

“Iranian Police Commander Brigadier General Hossein Ashtari assailed Canada for declining to arrest a former top Iranian banker who has fled to that country after committing a massive fraud, saying Iran had notified the Canadian Police of the whereabouts of Mahmoud Reza Khavari.

In remarks at a televised interview on Saturday, Brigadier General Ashtari said Iran determined the exact whereabouts of Khavari in Canada two times and even informed the Canadian Police about the fugitive banker’s location, but they refused to arrest him.

Iran has information on the whereabouts of many wanted criminals in the foreign countries, while even the police forces of those countries have failed to detect them, the Iranian commander noted.

The lack of cooperation from foreigners on arresting and extraditing the convicts has political reasons in some cases, General Ashtari noted.

The problem is lack of cooperation from the judicial and police forces of the other countries, although the protocols defined by the Interpol on the extradition of wanted figures are clear, he added.

Mahmoud Reza Khavari, a former top Iranian banker who fled to Canada after committing a massive fraud, has been sentenced to 30 years in prison.

Khavari, said to hold dual citizenship and own a home in Toronto, fled to Canada after a $2.6 billion financial fraud came to light in 2011.

The embezzlement case started in 2007 by Amir Mansour Arya Investment Company, and developed in 2010 after some Iranian major banks, including Bank Saderat and Bank Melli, granted loans to the company.

Although Interpol has placed Khavari on its Red Notice Wanted list, efforts to extradite him to Iran have gone nowhere so far.”

  19. Iran Does Not Intend, Need to Meddle in US Election: GC Spokesman

“he spokesperson for Iran’s Guardian Council dismissed the allegations of Tehran’s interference in the US presidential election.

In comments in response to the allegations raised by American officials that Iran has been meddling in the upcoming US presidential election, Guardian Council Spokesman Abbas Ali Kadkhodaei said on Sunday, “Iran has announced repeatedly that it does not interfere in the internal affairs of the other countries. Moreover, it sees no need for such interference.”

“The US election is also a domestic issue, in which Iran does not intend or need to interfere,” he added.

“However, (US President Donald) Trump must know that the era of interference in the internal affairs of the countries is over,” Kadkhodaei noted.

His remarks came after Director of US National Intelligence John Ratcliffe alleged that Iran and Russia had obtained voter registration information in an attempt to undermine confidence in the US presidential election.

On Thursday, Iran’s Foreign Ministry summoned Switzerland’s ambassador to Tehran in protest at the “baseless” allegations of meddling in the US election.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran rejects the repetitive claims and the fabricated, amateurish and deceitful reports from the US regime’s officials, stressing once again that it makes no difference to Tehran which of the two candidates would reach the White House,” Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Saeed Khatibzadeh said.”

  20. Iranian Tankers Hide in Iraqi Waters to Ship Oil Abroad

“Iraq’s waters have become a new, important waypoint for Iranian oil smugglers looking to avoid US sanctions, American officials and documents have revealed.

Iranian tankers now regularly transfer crude to other ships near the major Iraqi port of al-Faw, the Wall Street Journal cited official sources as saying.

The oil is then mixed with cargoes from other places, including Iraq’s crude oil, to disguise its origin, and it eventually ends up on sale in global markets.

With time, the operation has become an increasingly common and lucrative business that involves transferring and mixing cargoes with other vessels multiple times and then selling the oil with documents that declare it is as Iraqi.

Despite the significant decline in crude oil production after the US reimposed its sanctions on Tehran, the country still exported more than 800,000 barrels per day in the first six months of this year, according to US shipping-information company

With the 25-year deal with China now moving ahead at pace, Iran has a buyer for all of the crude oil it can produce, albeit at discounted levels, Simon Watkins told in late September.

Watkins quoted a source close to the Iranian Oil Ministry as saying that from June 1 to July 21, China imported at least 8.1 million barrels of crude oil – 158,823 barrels per day (bpd) – from Iran by disguised ship-to-ship transfers. However, China claimed it did not import any crude oil from Iran in June.

In September, TankerTrackers reported that Iran’s oil exports have jumped up to 1.5 million barrels per day, a figure much higher than the stated official data.

“The amount of the exports of petroleum products in Iran has been unprecedented,” Iran’s Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh said in August.

Former US special representative for Iran Brian Hook stressed that the United States has been so successful at collapsing Iran’s oil sector because it enforced its sanctions. “We have warned the maritime community for two years of the dangers of moving Iranian oil.””
