Reader’s Links for October 19, 2020

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  1. DAILY MAIL – More trouble for Joe Biden as Ukrainian lawmaker claims second laptop belonging to Hunter’s business contacts in the country has been seized by law enforcement

Andrii Derkach posted to Facebook on Friday to say there is a ‘second laptop’

In the post Derkach says that laptop ‘was given to Ukrainian law enforcement’

‘These are not the last witnesses or the last laptop,’ he warned in the post

Rudy Giuliani, the president’s personal lawyer, has said foreign sources did not provide the Hunter Biden emails first reported last week

Derkach is one of Giuliani’s principal contacts; a Treasury Department sanction announcement characterized him as an ‘active Russian agent for over a decade’

Last week, the New York Post published emails and photographs that the outlet claimed were contained on a laptop owned by Hunter Biden

Messages suggested that Hunter had arranged for a top executive at Burisma to meet his father when he was VP and in charge of US policy with Ukraine

  2. The business partner of Hunter Biden who flipped on the Biden family from prison provided access to 26,000 emails, Breitbart News senior contributor Peter Schweizer said in a Saturday morning radio appearance.

  3. China Tribunal’s Final Judgement of murder by live organ transplant:

The W.H.O. in 2012 saw this just as a blip.
“While we cannot deny the executed prisoner’s right to donate organs, an organ transplantation system relying on death-row prisoners’ organs is not ethical or sustainable. Now there is consensus among China’s transplant community that the new system will relinquish the reliance on organs from executed convicts. The implementation of the new national system will start early next year at the latest. This will also mark the start of phasing out the old practice. Although it took decades to establish a sophisticated national organ donation system in western countries, I am optimistic that China can leapfrog to success in a relatively short period of time given the combination of governmental support and international experience.”

  4. German Foreign Minister Maas Says Turkey’s Latest Seismic Surveys ‘Very Bad Surprise’ (sputniknews, Oct 19, 2020)

“Turkey’s decision to conduct new seismic exploration surveys of the seabed near the Greek island of Kastellorizo comes as a “very bad surprise,” German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas has told the Greek newspaper Kathimerini in an interview as tensions remain high in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Ankara issued a new Navtex advisory for its Oruc Reis research boat late on 11 October. The advisory is set to last until Thursday, and Turkish officials have said that the seismic surveys have already got underway.

“It came as a surprise – a very bad surprise. This back and forth of de-escalation and escalation is difficult to understand and leads to a dead end,” Maas told the newspaper.
Tensions between Ankara and Athens flared throughout the summer after Turkish research vessels conducted several seismic surveys in the eastern Mediterranean Sea. The European Union has strongly criticized Turkey’s actions, although Brussels has yet to slap sanctions on Ankara.

Maas said that a decision on whether to levy punitive measures against Turkey might be taken in December.

“They [sanctions] are part of our diplomatic toolbox, but they should be used with precaution. Are we already at this point regarding Turkey? Might we get there? This should depend on Ankara. We have set out a clear and measured way forward until the Council in December. It is up to Turkey to come on board. And in December we’ll have to decide,” the German foreign minister said.

Turkey issued the latest Navtex advisory just a handful of days after Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias met with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu on the sidelines of a forum in Slovakia’s capital, Bratislava.

Maas said that meetings such as these were a positive starting point from which to maintain dialogue.

The Greek government has slammed Turkey for conducting the seismic exploration surveys in waters that Greece claims to be part of its exclusive economic zone.

NATO is also playing a leading role in trying to defuse the tensions, and a so-called de-confliction mechanism has been established to reduce the risk of accidents taking place in the region.”

  5. France to Expel 231 Radicalised Foreigners After Beheading of Teacher in ‘Islamist Terrorist Attack’ (sputniknews, Oct 19, 2020)

“French President Emmanuel Macron held a defense council meeting in the wake of the brutal attack on a history teacher in a Paris suburb, vowing that “Islamists will not sleep peacefully in France”, with probes to be conducted of the authors of 80 posts on social media that expressed support for the attacker.

French officials have announced a sweeping crackdown on radicalised foreigners in response to the brutal beheading of a teacher on Friday that the French president Emmanuel Macron called an “Islamist terrorist attack”, reported Fox News.

In line with measures planned by Minister of the Interior Gerald Darmanin, authorities intend to expel 231 foreigners that have been red-flagged in the File of Alerts for the Prevention of Terrorist Attacks (FSPRT), which tracks suspected radicalised activities, reports the outlet, citing Europe 1.

According to officials, the names on the list include some 180 individuals who are behind bars at the moment, as well as another 51 people who may soon be arrested.

Overall, more than 850 illegal immigrants are registered with the FSPRT, says the outlet.

Darmanin had reportedly been mulling the deportation earlier, intending to offer deals to officials in Algeria, Tunisia and Morocco to take back their radicalised nationals.

The issue of the right to asylum is also reportedly to be addressed by the Minister of the Interior, with appropriate services tasked with scrutinising more carefully those individuals who seek to obtain refugee status in France.

The developments come as an 18-year-old Chechen refugee, identified as Abdoulakh A., is the main suspect in a murder that shocked France on Friday.

History teacher Samuel Paty, 47, was attacked and decapitated by an 18-year-old refugee of Chechen origin.

Paty had earlier shown a caricature of the Islamic prophet Muhammad to his students at a school in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, northwest of Paris, during a lesson on freedom of speech.

11 individuals have already been detained in connection with the attack, according to French media reports, including four members of the attacker’s family.

French media added that among the six people arrested on Saturday were the father of a pupil at the school, and a reportedly ‘radical Islamist’ preacher. It is not clear if these individuals are also part of the planned deportations.

After the suspect in the murder was discovered not far from the victim, carrying a knife that he refused to drop, police shot and killed him.

According to French media reports citing the country’s anti-terrorism prosecutor Jean-Francois Ricard, a text claiming responsibility for the attack and a photograph of Paty were found on the suspect’s phone.

A Twitter account that is believed to have belonged to the suspect contained a post with a photo of the victim’s decapitated head and a message that reportedly said:

“I have executed one of the dogs from hell who dared to put Mohammad down.”
On Sunday, political leaders, associations and unions demonstrated in Paris and other major cities to call for support of freedom of speech and pay tribute to Paty, who had been the target of online threats for showing the cartoons.

The father of one schoolgirl is reported to have launched an online call for “mobilisation” against him, said France’s anti-terror prosecutor Jean-Francois Ricard.

According to Ricard, the perpetrator, who was of Chechen origin, was born in Moscow in 2002, and had received refugee status in France.

A spokesperson for the Russian Embassy in France, Sergey Parinov, said on Saturday that the suspect had resided in France with his family on a legal basis since 2008.

?While a national tribute will be paid to Samuel Paty on Wednesday, demonstrations are being held in dozens of cities across France in a show of solidarity and defiance.

“A civilisation does not kill an innocent person, barbarism does,” Tareq Oubrou, imam of a mosque in Bordeaux, was cited as telling France Inter on Saturday.”

  6. Has anyone here seen this before? Is it real?

A warning letter from the niece of Osama bin Laden
A Biden/Harris administration would bring America to her knees
    Noor bin Ladin

    Dear America,
Two-hundred-and-forty-four years ago, the resolve, courage, and wisdom of your Founding Fathers forever changed the course of history. For the first time, with the ratification of your Declaration of Independence, mankind was offered an unmatched societal ideal. Human beings were recognized for what we truly are by nature: all created free and equal, endowed with unalienable rights derive from our Creator. With your Constitution, your Founders sealed these God given rights, and protected them by instituting a limited form of self-government along with a robust justice system.

This, America, is what makes your nation exceptional. It is why you have stood as a beacon of democracy and hope for all subjugated peoples over the past two centuries. During some of our darkest hours, we remember how you fought for those who couldn’t defend themselves from tyranny, at the cost of your own brave men. The world is forever in debt to your sacrifice, and we are grateful for the refuge you provide those who can flee persecution.

This, America, is your heritage and the reason we still look to you as our champion of liberty. Those currently fighting for their freedoms across the world value your brave Founding Fathers. From the peaceful Hong Kong protesters who proudly brandish the American flag in the streets, to the Iranian students who refused to walk over the painted star-and-stripes on the ground of a Tehran university, people who live under oppressive regimes know first hand that being free has no price. And they know that America is the ultimate shelter for the downtrodden.

Watching the gratuitous violence, streets burn, buildings and statues being defaced in America over these past months, I am heartbroken to see how an entire generation was successfully brainwashed into hating the very nation that has yielded the most freedom, justice and equality anywhere in the world.

I am also highly distressed by the blatant erosion at various levels of your most basic individual rights and freedoms as guaranteed by your Bill of Rights, from arbitrary censorship of speech to unlawful, politically motivated abuses of justice.

America, this is why I feel compelled to address you. Though I am an unlikely messenger at first glance — rest assured that the name that I carry is antithetical to the values I hold — my heart is in the right place: with you. The level of urgency coupled with the platform afforded to me by my circumstance compel me to speak up and warn you before it is too late.
The question is, how did we get to this point? The truth is that the undoing of America has been decades in the making. The globalists, Deep State, the swamp, whichever name you call them, have been hard at work to weaken America’s sovereignty and standing as world leader. Intent on erecting a new system of world governance where they would be in total control, they are seeking to undermine the fundamental principle of your country, ‘a government for the people by the people’, replacing it instead with a world order of international institutions ultimately puppeteered by a caste of technocrats, oligarchs and international bankers.

Though your Constitution stands firmly in their way, it never deterred them. They infiltrated governmental and intelligence agencies, and all realms of society — education, media, entertainment, culture. At their disposal, tools of mass population influence: propaganda, fake news and censorship. They set out to destroy your fundamental values and divide you. They negated God, dissolved the family unit and dissevered us from moral objectivity, effectively leaving a vacuum of degeneracy, cognitive dissonance and absurdity. This social engineering operation took place as we were lulled into a sense of comfort and complacency due to modernity’s technological progress and liberalism’s appeal. In reality we were being driven further down a path of enslavement while they solidified their plans for a covert power grab.

However, they didn’t count on a great awakening of people tired of being crushed by their self-serving economic policies. Nor did they foresee that COVID-19 would highlight their system’s gross failings, from an over dependence on a global supply chain to corruption in major institutions such as the World Health Organization. They didn’t anticipate that we would all rally online to share information and real news, bypassing their controlled mainstream media outlets. Above all, they never thought Hillary Clinton would lose.

Since President Trump’s victory, these nefarious forces have done everything in their power to stop him from reversing past administrations’ destructive policies. They have failed, hoax after hoax. Despite their relentless attacks on all fronts, President Trump has demonstrated he is the only leader who can save us from a bleak future. As evidenced by his first term, results of his America First policy speak for themselves.

Domestically, he removed handicapping regulations to American economic growth; rebuilt a depleted military; brought back manufacturing and revamped dying industries by renegotiating trade deals and cutting taxes; achieved energy independence; curbed immigration — all of which contributed to setting record unemployment rates. He also saved your tax payer dollars by withdrawing from corrupt international organizations and agreements. Remarkably, he tackled neglected issues such as human trafficking and unjust incarceration; defunded Planned Parenthood; took care of your disregarded veterans; lowered prescription drug prices. All these undertakings prove just how much he values the lives and wellbeing of ALL Americans.
By strengthening America from within, President Trump bolstered his plans when it comes to foreign policy, and thanks to his vision and tactical use of diplomatic avenues, has made the world a much safer place since taking office. To name a few achievements: he stood up to China, kept us out of new wars, made Europe comply with their Nato requirements, solidified ties with Israel, overturned the disastrous Iran deal, obliterated Isis, took down other key terrorists, and facilitated a historic peace deal between Israel and the UAE. His administration has also made Christian persecution worldwide a top priority with the State Department instituting the Ministerial to Advance Religious Freedom, the first of its kind.
With President Trump at her helm, America has a chance to restore her principles, pride, independence and true place in the world as beacon of liberty and hope for all. This to me, is what ‘Make America Great Again’ means. Looking back at your country’s foundation, and preserving what makes it truly great. But also knowing that the best is yet to come.

All the above achievements will be torpedoed with a Biden/Harris presidency, and the dream of America’s enemies to see her weak and on her knees would be fulfilled. Make no mistake America, you are under attack. Supported by the fake news propaganda machine and violent marxists groups such as antifa with their Isis-type tactics, they have pushed their agenda through fearmongering, hypocrisy, lies and destruction onto you, the American people, and for one motive only: power. The escalation of the past four years is your preview of what to expect should we lose: an abject repudiation of our Judeo-Christian values and utter disregard for your individual rights. This insurrection, if successful, would cause the unravelling of law and order and the end of your Republic as we know it. Tyranny would inevitably ensue.

America, you are at the very edge of the precipice. Please wake up! Take hold! Fight for your country, and be proud of your roots! Uphold your values. Stand for your flag and your anthem. Defend your history. Don’t relent in the face of those who seek to rewrite it to serve their narrative and justify the destruction of your nation. You have much to cherish and protect for your sake, and ours.

We need you to stay the course, America. You are our last safeguard from an imminent civilizational collapse and if you lose, all humanity loses.

Be assured, we are with you in this decisive hour in your history. All of us freedom-seeking and loving people across the globe pray for you to succeed.
    Your fellow patriot,
    Noor bin Ladin

  7. Rotherham child sex abuse probe: Police arrest 15 men in Operation Stovewood (express, Oct 19, 2020)

“POLICE have arrested 15 men as part of an operation into historic child sex abuse in the South Yorkshire town of Rotherham.

The alleged crimes, including rape, are thought to involve four girls and took place over a six year period between 2003 and 2009. The National Crime Agency’s (NCA) Operation Stovewood made the arrests, which relate to three separate investigations.

As part of the investigation nine men, aged between 36 and 49, were arrested in connection with the rape a girl between 2003 and 2008.

NCA said the arrests took place in Rotherham, Blackburn, Sheffield, Doncaster, Wakefield and County Durham.

While five men, aged between 29 and 62, from the Rotherham area were arrested in connection with a separate part of the investigation over the alleged abuse of two girls between 2007 and 2009.

Meanwhile, a 51-year-old man was arrested in Conisbrough, Doncaster, on suspicion of sexually abusing a 14 or 15-year-old girl alleged to have taken place in 2008.

The 15 men have been released as invesitgations continue.

NCA regional head of investigations Rob Burgess said: ““This latest operational activity means we have now questioned more than 190 people as part of Operation Stovewood.

“We have also worked with policing and local authority partners to take safeguarding action protecting around 40 children in just the last two weeks. This is an important part of our work and often goes unheralded.

“While our determination to bring to justice offenders is undiminished, we continue to reach out and appeal to victims or witnesses to come forward.

“Our investigation is victim focused, and we’re interested in speaking to anyone who might have information to help investigations into child sexual abuse in Rotherham between 1997 and 2013. Victims will be supported.”

The NCA launched the independent investigation in 2015 following a request from South Yorkshire Police after a 2014 report by Professor Alexis Jay which found abuse in Rotherham had been ignored by agencies.”

  8. Greece finalizes plan to build wall on border with Turkey (abcnews, Oct 19, 2020)

“Greece’s government says it has finalized plans to extend a wall along its northeast border with Turkey, over concerns that migrants may try to stage mass crossings into the European Union country.

Government spokesman Stelios Petsas said Monday that 26 kilometers (16 miles) of wall would be added to an existing 10-kilometer (six-mile) section in a 63-million-euro ($74 million) project due to be completed by the end of April.

A standoff occurred at the border earlier this year after Turkey said it would no longer prevent migrants trying to reach the EU, and tens of thousands tried to cross into Greece.

The two countries are also at odds over energy rights in the eastern Mediterranean in a dispute that has triggered a dangerous military buildup in the region and fears of conflict.

Four Greek construction companies have been selected to build the new wall and upgrade the existing section of fencing, running along or close to the Evros River, which forms much of the border between the two countries.

The wall will be made using galvanized square steel tubes and concrete foundations, according to Greece’s public order ministry.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited the border region on Saturday after a test installation of a section of the new wall.

The number of migrants and refugees traveling from Turkey to Greece fell sharply this year during the pandemic and after the border standoff prompted tougher border policing. Turkey has accused Greece of illegally pushing back migrants reaching its islands in the eastern Aegean Sea, a charge that Athens denies.

Turkey hosts the largest number of refugees worldwide, at nearly 4 million people, mostly from Syria, according to the U.N. Refugee Agency.”

  9. French police operations underway after beheading of teacher (abcnews, Oct 19, 2020)

“France’s interior minister said Monday that police operations are underway into dozens of people who allegedly issued messages of support for the attacker after the beheading of a history teacher near Paris.

Gerald Darmanin said on French radio Europe 1 that at least 80 cases of hate speech have been reported since Friday’s attack.

Samuel Paty was beheaded in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, northwest of Paris, by a 18-year-old Moscow-born Chechen refugee, who was later shot dead by police. Police officials said Paty had discussed caricatures of Islam’s Prophet Muhammad with his class, leading to threats.

French President Emmanuel Macron held a defense council on Sunday at the Elysee presidential palace. The government will reinforce security at schools when classes resume on Nov. 2 after two weeks of holidays, Macron’s office said.

French President Emmanuel Macron met with Paty’s family on Monday morning, the French presidency said.

Macron will also meet with the members of France’s leading Muslim organization, the French Muslim Council, or CFCM, later in the day.

A national homage is to be held for Paty on Wednesday.

Players, coaches and referees at high-level soccer matches this weekend will wear a black armband in a tribute to Paty. The French league said in a statement Monday that a minute of silence will be observed before kick-off at all professional matches in leagues 1 and 2.

Tens of thousands of demonstrators gathered on Sunday across France in support of freedom of speech and in memory of the slain 47-year-old teacher.

French authorities said they detained 11 people following the killing.

Darmanin said they include the father of a student and an Islamist activist who both “obviously launched a fatwa,” or religious ruling, against the teacher.

A man who said he was the father of a student had posted a video on social media asserting that Paty had shown an image of a naked man and told students it was “the prophet of the Muslims.” He called on other angry parents to contact him, and relay the message.

Darmanin said authorities were also looking into about 50 associations suspected of encouraging hate speech. Some will be dissolved, he said.

The president of the Conference of imams in France, Hassen Chalghoumi, said “we are hurt, we are condemning this barbaric act,” on French news broadcaster BFM TV. “Samuel is a martyr of freedom.”

“Barbarism has no place in schools nor elsewhere in France,” he said.

Chalghoumi, who is an imam in Drancy, a suburb northeast of Paris, said he had received death threats and insults on social media from radical Islamists in recent days.

Justice authorities opened an investigation for murder with a suspected terrorist motive. At least four of those detained are family members of the attacker, who had been granted 10-year residency in France as a refugee in March. He was armed with a knife and an airsoft gun, which fires plastic pellets.

Anti-terrorism prosecutor Jean-Francois Ricard said a text claiming responsibility and a photograph of the victim were found on the attacker’s phone.”

  10. Coronavirus: Anti-mask protesters gather in Vancouver for “mega freedom rally”

Several hundred people gathered at the Vancouver Art Gallery’s north plaza on Sunday for the second day of an anti-mask “mega freedom rally” where attendees listened to speeches decrying what they called censorship, along with “lockdowns” and mask mandates, and expressed fears a COVID-19 vaccine would be made mandatory.

Vladisav Sobolev, founder of the group “hugs over masks,” told Global News the event offered a forum for like-minded people to come together and get an “alternative perspective to the mainstream media.”

Many people in the crowd espoused debunked myths that wearing a mask is harmful because it causes a person to breathe in carbon dioxide or bacteria or causes cancer.

  11. MEMRI – Sudanese Islamic Scholar on Beheading of French Teacher: The Offensive Cartoons Were the Main Crime

In an October 17, 2020 interview on Channel 9 (Turkey), Sudanese Islamic scholar Muhammad Abd Al-Karim, the Secretary-General of the Muslim Scholars Association, discussed the recent beheading of Samuel Paty, a French history teacher who had shown his class cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad.

Abd Al-Karim said that the main crime had been the insults against the Prophet Muhammad.

Arguing that the killing was a natural reaction to provocation, Abd Al-Karim criticized French President Emmanuel Macron for “encouraging” insults against Islam and the Prophet Muhammad.

He said that if France wanted to stop such reactions, then it should stop offending Islam and its symbols, such as Prophet Muhammad.

Abd Al-Karim said that Macron encourages offence to Islam in the name of free speech but is “too cowardly” to discuss the Holocaust.

  12. ‘The city will be on fire’: New Yorkers reportedly prepare to flee homes to avoid election-related unrest
By Daily Caller News Foundation October 19, 2020

New Yorkers are purportedly making plans to escape the city ahead of potential Election Day violence and protests, according to the New York Post.

Paulo Wei, 25, is planning on avoiding unrest by leaving his luxury building on the Upper West Side for his family’s 60-acre farm two hours north of the city, the Post reported Saturday.

“I felt trapped in the apartment — the protests were overwhelming,” Wei said. “It could happen again and I don’t want to be caught up in that. No matter who wins, someone is going to get upset.”

  13. MEMRI – TV Host on Turkey-Based Muslim Brotherhood TV Channel following French Teacher’s Murder

On an October 17, 2020 show on Channel 9 (Turkey), Egyptian TV host Mohamed Abdelbaky discussed the recent beheading of a history teacher, Samuel Paty, in France for having shown his class cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad.

Abdelbaky harshly criticized French President Emmanuel Macron, saying that he “offended” the Muslims by describing the beheading as an act of Islamic terrorism.

Abdelbaky criticized French authorities for killing the murderer instead of arresting, interrogating, and trying him to find out the “truth.”

Claiming that Macron only seeks to prove that Muslims are terrorists, Abdelbaky said that freedom of expression in France should not include speech that is blasphemous against Islam.

He also questioned why Paty had been showing cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad in the first place.

Channel 9 is one of several Arabic-language TV channels affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood that broadcast from Turkey.

  14. MEMRI – Sec.-Gen. of International Union of Muslim Scholars Ali Qaradaghi: Macron Has a Crusader Ideology

Islamic scholar Ali Qaradaghi, the Secretary-General of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, said in an October 14, 2020 interview on Dorar TV (Sudan) that French President Emmanuel Macros has a “Crusader ideology” and is a member of the far right.

Claiming that the West is going through a moral crisis, he also said that the West wants to get rid of its elderly people, and that it would have not done anything about coronavirus if these were the only people that it affected.

Qaradaghi is originally from Iraq, and he is currently based in Qatar.

  16. Farage on London Church Attack: ‘We Are a Christian Country and Our Culture Is Under Assault’ (breitbart, Oct 19, 2020)

“Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage has weighed in on the viral video of a man ripping down the cross on a London church in broad daylight, warning Britain’s Christian culture is “under assault”.

The video shows the cross on the Chadwell Heath Baptist Church in east London being hauled down by a young man making no attempt to conceal his identity, despite the widespread acceptance of people wearing masks in public and the presence of several witnesses.

The Metropolitan Police say the fallen cross has been recovered and a male was arrested at the scene on suspicion of criminal damage. No mention was made of pursuing religiously-aggravated hate crime charges.

“We are a Christian country and our culture is under assault,” commented Farage, sharing the video on social media.

“Our archbishops are complaining about Brexit yet say nothing about the desecration of a London church,” he added.

The veteran Brexiteer was referring to a joint letter by leading Anglican clerics the Archbishop of York, Justin Welby, the Archbishop of York Stephen Cottrell, the Archbishop of Armagh, John McDowell, the Archbishop of Wales, John Davies, and the Primus of the Scottish Episcopal Church, Mark Strange, complaining about the Internal Market Bill which passed the House of Commons with a resounding majority and is currently before the unelected House of Lords.

The bill was drawn up after government ministers became concerned that the European Union intended to abuse measures in the Brexit Withdrawal Agreement (WA) to prevent food from being imported from Great Britain to the British province of Northern Ireland if, as looks increasingly likely, the ongoing Brexit-in-name-only “transition period” expires at the end of 2020 without a formal trade UK-EU trade agreement being struck.

The WA leaves Northern Ireland partly within the EU’s regulatory ambit in the event of a “No Deal”, in order to main the supposedly all-important open border between Northern Ireland and EU member-state the Republic of Ireland — but the British government did not anticipate that the EU would interpret this in such a way as to allow them to blockade the transport of food from one part of the United Kingdom to another.

Consequently, the Internal Market Bill is intended to give British government ministers the power to “disapply” elements of the WA if it is used in this way — a move the EU and its British apologists — including the increasingly politicised Church of England — have decried as a breach of international law.

“We believe this would create a disastrous precedent,” the Anglican clerics’ letter complains.

“If carefully negotiated terms are not honoured and laws can be ‘legally’ broken, on what foundations does our democracy stand?” they add, as though allowing the EU to control trade between different parts of the United Kingdom in order to uphold the sanctity of a foreign treaty would be more democratic than allowing Britain’s duly elected representatives amend or leave that treaty to uphold the national interest.

Former Brexit minister Steve Baker MP responded to the intervention by saying that he was “extremely disappointed that the archbishops are sowing disunity and division at a time when they could instead build up much-needed harmony in our nation,” adding: “I pray that the archbishops might be blessed with better legal advice. They would then realise the hysterics of various lawyers are not justified.”

Former Conservative Party leader Sir Iain Duncan Smith MP was far more cutting, remarking acidly: “I hope this is not a distraction from the difficulties the Church of England has been in with the inquiry into Child Abuse, which reported back last week.

“I hope this is not an attempt at distraction from the Church of England’s own internal troubles.””

  17. Paris Mosque Apologises For Sharing ‘Fatwa’ Video Prior to Islamic Beheading Attack (breitbart, Oct 19, 2020)

“A mosque in Paris has apologised for sharing a video from a parent who called for a ‘mobilisation’ campaign against Samuel Paty, a teacher who was beheaded after showing his class a caricature of the Islamic prophet Mohammed shortly afterwards.

On Sunday, the leader of the Pantin mosque in Paris, M’hammed Henniche, admitted to sharing the video, which detailed the terror victim’s identity and address. Following the dissemination of the video, Paty was beheaded in an Islamic attack believed to have been committed by 18-year-old Chechen migrant Abdoulakh Anzorov.

“In hindsight, given what happened we regret having published it. We are now exploring how in the future we can take a step back before getting carried away with things like that,” the mosque leader said per FranceTVInfo.

“Nobody, really nobody, could imagine, on October 9 when I posted it, that it would end with this killing,” he added.

Henniche claimed that the video was widely shared through Muslim circles in the city, telling the French newspaper Libération: “At least ten people sent it to me. It circulated a lot, especially through WhatsApp groups.”

Following the Islamic attack, the mosque deleted the video from its Facebook page and called for its members to join tribute rallies for the victim.

On Monday, the social media campaign against Paty was described by the French Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, as a “Fatwa”.

“They obviously launched a Fatwa against the professor,” he told the Europe One radio station.

Darmanin said that the government has opened “more than 80 investigations” have been launched against those who said that Paty got what he deserved for showing the cartoon of the Islamic prophet in class.

The video was reportedly made by Brahim Chnina, a parent of a 13-year-old girl in Mr Paty’s class.

According to the conservative French magazine Valeurs Actuelles, the father described Mr Paty as a “thug” and shared his identity and address on social media, while calling for a protest campaign against the teacher.

In the video, Chnina reportedly said: “This professor says, while bragging to my daughter, that he took part in the walk for Charlie [Hebdo]. You love your prophet, peace be upon him. You have the address and name of the teacher to say STOP.”

“This thug should not remain in the national education system. He must no longer educate children. He must go and educate himself,” he added.

Chnina was arrested alongside Islamic activist Abdelhakim Sefraoui, as well as several family members of the suspected attacker.

France’s anti-terrorism prosecutor, Jean-Jean-François Ricard, confirmed on Friday that one of the parents at the school launched a “mobilisation” effort against the teacher for showing the Charlie Hebdo caricature of the Islamic prophet, The Times reported.

Ricard said that the suspected killer — Moscow-born, 18-year-old Chechen migrant, Abdoulakh Anzorov — came to France as a refugee and was granted a residence permit in March. He said that Anzorov was not known to security services prior to the attack.

Mr Ricard also revealed that Anzorov’s half-sister had travelled to Syria in 2014 to join ISIS and was under investigation by French anti-terrorist police.

One of the suspects arrested after the attack is also believed to have a relative who was a member of the so-called Islamic State, according to France 24.

Following the horrific killing, Anzorov shared images and videos of the decapitated teacher, apparently celebrating his Islamist attack.

Ricard said that one of the messages read: “In the name of Allah the most gracious, the most merciful… to Macron, leader of the infidels, I have executed one of your hell-hounds who dared to belittle Muhammad.”

French police said that witnesses heard the migrant terrorist shouting “Allahu Akbar” as he carried out the attack.

Polices shot and killed Abdullakh Anzorov following the beheading of Samuel Paty.”

    • “getting carried away with things like that,” sounds an awful lot like “some people did something”.

“Nobody, really nobody, could imagine, on October 9 when I posted it, that it would end with this killing”
Denouncing a man for insulting Muhammad, then this man is murdered, who ever heard of such a thing!?

“Britain’s Home Office is planning to bombard illegal migrants’ smartphones with Facebook adverts asking them to not cross the English Channel, according to reports.

Home Secretary Priti Patel, whose department is broadly responsible for borders, policing, and national security, hopes that targeting supposedly desperate migrants camped along France’s northern coast with discouraging messages in languages such as Kurdish may put a dent in the record illegal sea crossings which have been embarrassing Boris Johnson’s government for months now.

The ads will contain such missives as “If you arrive in the UK illegally from a safe country like France, we can and will return you” and “People die making these crossings, do not risk your life”, according to The Sun…”

  22. No Intelligence Tying Hunter Biden Emails to Russian Disinformation: Ratcliffe

Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe told Fox News on Monday that there is no evidence tying the case of the Hunter Biden laptop to Russian disinformation.

Ratcliffe told the outlet that the laptop “is not part of some Russian disinformation campaign” following claims from House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) suggesting the contrary.

Schiff on Saturday told CNN’s “The Situation Room” that revelations in a New York Post story around messages contained on a laptop that allegedly belonged to Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden’s son were part of a smear campaign that came from the Kremlin.

“We know that this whole smear on Joe Biden comes from the Kremlin,” he said when asked by CNN’s Wolf Blitzer if the Hunter Biden stories are “Russian disinformation.”

“That’s been clear for a well over a year now that they’ve been pushing this false narrative about the vice president and his son,” Schiff said.

The New York Post story alleges that the emails on the laptop suggest Joe Biden had knowledge of, and was allegedly involved in, his son’s foreign business dealings. The Epoch Times has not been able to verify the NY Post report independently.
