Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

    “A huge blaze destroyed the overcrowded Moria facility in the early hours of Wednesday, leaving nearly 13,000 migrants without shelter. According to Greek media, the fire could have been caused by arson. The fire broke out after reports emerged that 35 residents of the camp had been diagnosed with COVID-19.

    Police on the Greek island of Lesbos have used tear gas against migrants who threw stones during a protest to demand shelter after the local camp of Moria burned down, AFP reported on Saturday.

    Police fired rounds of teargas when some of the protesters attempted to march down a road leading to the island’s port of Mytilene, which police had blocked while work on the new tent settlement continued nearby.

    Earlier in the day, migrants started blocking roads to protest against the living conditions and reports about the creation of a new temporary camp after a fire destroyed the Moria refugee camp where they had been living.

    The first blaze broke out in Moria late on Tuesday and several others followed throughout Wednesday. The fire rapidly destroyed more than 60 percent of the buildings and tents of the camp, forcing the 12,700 residents to seek refuge on the beaches or further out of the camp.

    Commenting on the incident, Greek Migration Minister Notis Mitarachi stated that the fire was started by asylum seekers “because of the quarantine imposed.”

    “Intra-Afghan negotiations to reach peace between the Kabul administration and the Taliban movement started in Qatar’s Doha on Saturday, a Sputnik correspondent reported.

    Both sides have sent delegations of more than 20 people to participate in talks.

    Abdullah Abdullah, the chairman of the High Council for National Reconciliation, who leads the government’s delegation, has said that the country intends to end the decades-long war and reach “an agreement on long-lasting peace”.

    Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo urged the sides to strike the deal, adding that the country should protect the rights of all Afghans.

    “We will undoubtedly counter many challenges in the talks over the coming days, weeks and months. Remember you are acting not only for this generation of Afghans but for future generations as well, your children and your grandchildren”, he noted.

    Addressing the talks, Taliban co-founder Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar reiterated that Afghanistan should adopt an “Islamic system”.

    At the meantime, Mawlawi Attaullah Ludin, a member of the delegation that represents Kabul, also said that the basic demand is “to uphold national and Islamic values”, adding that the nation is looking forward to peace.

    “The people of Afghanistan have wanted from a long time to sit down with the government and the Taliban on such a day and discuss lasting peace, now the day has come and we look forward to a dignified and lasting peace. There will be problems during the negotiations but these problems will be resolved in the discussions”, he said.

    Though the US and the Taliban struck their long-awaited peace deal in February, there have been clashes between the Afghan government forces and the militants since then, which led to numerous delays in the peace process.

    The Afghan government and the Taliban will address the possibility of ensuring a long-lasting ceasefire, issues related to the country’s constitution, and a range of social matters, including women’s rights. Washington also noted that the deal will pave the way for the withdrawal of the American military from the country.”

    “A town councillor in Cornwall has written to Britain’s Home Secretary accusing a Baptist preacher of spreading hate by criticising gay pride, requesting the pastor’s immediate deportation to his native Australia.

    Pastor Josh Williamson of Newquay Baptist Church wrote on Facebook last month that the cancellation of this year’s Pride event called Rainbow Fest was “wonderful news” adding that “I don’t think sin should be celebrated.”

    Newquay Town Councillor Stephen Hick said the pastor’s post constitutes hate speech and merits deportation.

    Mr Hick, who is also the leader of Cornwall Pride, wrote a letter to Home Secretary Priti Patel claiming that Pastor Williamson’s presence in the country is a source of “continuing harm” to the gay community.

    “Josh Williamson’s ministry has caused harm to members of the community of Newquay and the wider LGBTQ+ community across Cornwall,” Hick alleged in his letter. “I believe his continued presence, preaching the hate that he does, presents a continuing harm to the same communities.”

    “I am unaware of the previous ministry of this particular church, but a foreign preacher travelling to the UK to promote and potentially act upon extremist views should be treated with the utmost seriousness,” he added.

    Along with his letter to the Home Secretary, Mr. Hick also wrote an op-ed in the Newquay Voice calling on local businesses to refuse services to Pastor Williamson and members of his church.

    “I call on every individual and business within Newquay to deny him and his church the ability to spread their odious message,” Hick wrote. “Do not interact with them, do not allow them to use your premises, do not accept their message.”

    In response, Pastor Williamson said Hick’s comments constituted “textbook bullying”.

    “I am not sure how Mr Hick is going to identify those connected with our church, perhaps he’ll want us to wear a yellow cross on our shirts?” Williamson said.

    “Is it tolerant to call for a Pastor to be removed from the country and to have his visa revoked?” Williamson wrote on Facebook last Tuesday. “Is it tolerant to call on ‘every individual and business within Newquay to deny him [me] and his church the ability to spread their odious message’?”

    “Is it tolerant to tell business and members of the public to ‘not interact with them [the church], do not allow them to use your premises, do not accept their message’? he asked.

    “We will not bow to his anti-Christian hatred and his racism,” Williamson concluded. “He can bully all he wants, but bullies should not be surrendered to.”

    LGBT activists threatened Pastor Williamson and his wife with violence and called for the torching of his church.

    Devon and Cornwall Police — sponsors of Cornwall Pride — visited Pastor Williamson and warned him to refrain from offending the LGBT community in the future and to restrict his views to a “safe environment”.

    The Christian Legal Centre said that the police response was itself cause for concern.

    “It’s becoming worryingly common in the UK to see threats and calls for violence against Christians for voicing their simple opposition to LGBT Pride,” said Andrea Williams, chief executive of the Christian Legal Centre.

    “Police forces should show Christians they take this seriously by protecting their free speech against mob threats rather than by seeking to keep Christians quiet,” she said.”

    “Swedish police are hunting for members of an anti-Islam group from Denmark who are alleged to have burned a copy of the Qur’an in Stockholm’s no-go Rinkeby suburb.

    Swedish police say they are searching for a blue Skoda car registered in Denmark in connection to the burning of a copy of the Qur’an on Thursday, saying an investigation into incitement to racial hatred has been launched.

    The incident is thought to be connected to controversial anti-Islam campaigner and lawyer Rasmus Paludan who has planned several demonstrations across Stockholm this weekend, newspaper Aftonbladet reports.

    Towe Hägg, press spokesman at the Stockholm Police, spoke to the newspaper about the upcoming demonstrations, saying: “They have not been given permission or rejection, the issue is still being prepared.”

    Video of the Qur’an burning was posted on YouTube on Thursday and has garnered over 60,000 views, showing a man setting the Islamic holy book ablaze in the central shopping area of Rinkeby. The man in the video states: “I am from Stram Kurs, and we are here in Rinkeby.”

    Stram Kurs (Hard Line) is the name of the anti-Islam group headed by Paludan and has been behind several controversial demonstrations in Denmark, some of which have led to riots and violence.

    Last weekend, Stram Kurs members burned copies of the Qur’an in the multicultural southern Swedish city of Malmö, which also led to rioting and attacks on local police by angry Muslims. At least 14 people were arrested, including a woman in her sixties.

    Following the Malmö riots, Paludan was given a two-year ban on entering Sweden but has stated that he will be going to Sweden this weekend, as he has claimed he is a Swedish citizen.

    Rinkeby has become notorious for rioting and crime in the last several years, with police stating in 2019 that criminals in the area “laugh” at Swedish laws.”

    • Turkey condemns ‘disrespect’ against Quran in Sweden

      Members of Danish far-right group burn Muslim holy book in illegal demonstration in Stockholm

      Turkey denounced an Islamophobic attack in Sweden on Thursday in which protesters burned a copy of the holy Quran, characterizing it as a “disrespect”.

      “We condemn the disrespect by a group of racist barbarians by burning our holy book, the Quran, in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden,” the Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

      It a positive step that Sweden did not allow those applying for a protest permit to attain one, the ministry said, but it stressed that Turkey regrets the provocative actions of members of a Danish racist party could not be prevented, even though their aims were well-known.

      “And these sick people continue to benefit from it,” it said.

      Following a similar Islamophobic provocation last month, a far-right group burned a copy of the Quran in a heavily Muslim area of Sweden.

      Members of the Danish far-right group, Stram Kurs, or Hard Line, burned the Muslim holy book in an illegal demonstration in the Rinkeby neighborhood.

      “Unfortunately, it is seen that disrespect for Islam has become widespread and cannot be prevented in Scandinavian countries in recent years under the guise of freedom of press, art, and expression,” the ministry said.

      Referring to two anti-Islamist racist attackers that killed more than 100 people in recent years, it said as long as the racists such as Anders Breivik and Brenton Tarrant are not detected and stopped in early stages, such actions would inevitably repeat.

      Breivik killed 77 people in Norway in 2011, while Tarrant killed 51 Muslims in New Zealand as they prepared for Friday prayers in 2019.

      “We expect Swedish authorities as well as all countries with cases of racism and Islamophobia to take all measures to fight against this disease both in the framework of European institutions and at the national level,” it urged.

      Ali Erbas, the head of Turkey’s Religious Affairs Directorate, also weighed in on Twitter. “I strongly condemn the unrelenting and provocative attack on our almighty book of the holy Quran by anti-Islamist racist groups in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden,” he said.

      Erbas said it is concerning that groups continue attacks against Muslims in different European cities.

      “I expect the activities of these sick-minded structures that threaten all humanity to be ended as soon as possible, and I invite the international community to a conscious fight against these structures,” he said.

  16. BILLIONAIRE ATHEIST FUNNELS CASH TO JESUITS

    DETROIT (ChurchMilitant.com) – In the past four years, Jesuit institutions have received at least $1.7 million in donations from the Open Society Foundations (OSF) that are funded by plutocrat George Soros.

    By examining documents recorded on the internet, it’s evident that the Jesuits’ biggest recipient of Soros’ largesse is the U.S.-based Jesuit Worldwide Learning.

    In 2016, the organization received $890,000, while, in 2018, it garnered another $410,000. This was the only one of the three Jesuit institutions to recognize the Soros Foundations as a “partner.”

    Among its other “partners” are various German philanthropies, while the U.N. Refugee Agency, Fujitsu, Seitwerk and AfB are listed as cooperating organizations.

    In 2018, Jesuit Refugee Service received $176,452 in support of migrants from Latin America and the Caribbean region. For its part, Jesuit Service to Migrants (Servicio Jesuita a Migrantes) received $75,000 in 2016 and another $151,125 in 2018, according to ACI Prensa.

    In July, apparently embarrassed, Guatemalan archbishop Gonzalo de Villa y Vásquez claimed that he had no knowledge of George Soros and the latter’s pro-abortion progressive agenda. He was appointed to his current post by Pope Francis, a fellow Jesuit.

    In the 1990s and into the new millennium, Villa y Vásquez chaired the board of the local iteration of the Soros philanthropy and served as chancellor of Guatemala’s Landivar University, which received funding from OSF. Indeed, Landivar University received $221,534 in 2017 from OSF.

    Donations given by OSF reflect George Soros’ progressive views on immigration, abortion and other issues. Since its creation in 1993, the philanthropy has been generous to pro-abortion efforts around the world.

    For example, while future archbishop Villa y Vásquez was chairing Soros’ Open Society in Guatemala in 2003, the philanthropy was funding the training of American abortionists in how to provide early-term abortions through the so-called morning-after pill and the “vacuum-aspiration technique.” OSF was also making substantial grants to the pro-abortion Sexuality Information and Education Council of the United States (SIECUS) and the Guttmacher Institute. OSF also donated funds to the National Abortion Rights League (NARAL), which has long lobbied for abortion.

    • Vatican Coup? George Soros Funds Jesuit NGOs with $1.7 Million

      Three Jesuit charities close to Pope Francis have received more than $ 1.7 million in recent years from George Soros’ Open Society Foundations, reveals veteran Vatican journalist Marco Tosatti.

      The Jesuit Refugee Service received $ 176,452 from Soros in 2018 to “support migrant rights” in Latin America. The Spanish Jesuit Migrant Service received $ 75,000 since its founding in 2016 and $ 151,125 in 2018. Jesuit Worldwide Learning USA received $ 890,000 in 2016 and another $ 410,000 in 2018, the only Catholic NGO to list Open Society as one of its “partners” on its website, Tosatti writes.

      In 2016, it became known that the Soros foundation gave $ 1.5 million to quash the scandal over the Planned Parenthood harvesting of organs and tissues from aborted babies.
      In 2017, the Irish government ordered Amnesty International to return more than $ 160,000 donated by Open Society to legalize abortion in that country.

      In mid-July it emerged that the Jesuit archbishop of Santiago del Guatemala, Monsignor Gonzalo de Villa y Vásquez, has been linked to Soros’ now-defunct Guatemala Foundation since the 1990s.

      US Catholic leaders voiced concern in a January 2017 letter to President Trump that George Soros may have conspired with Hillary Clinton, John Podesta and the Obama administration to force out Pope Benedict XVI and replace him with Pope Francis, based on E-Mails released by Wikileaks:

      “We were alarmed to discover that, during the third year of the first term of the Obama administration your previous opponent, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and other government officials with whom she associated proposed a Catholic “revolution” in which the final demise of what was left of the Catholic Church in America would be realized. Approximately a year after this e-mail discussion, which was never intended to be made public, we find that Pope Benedict XVI abdicated under highly unusual circumstances and was replaced by a pope whose apparent mission is to provide a spiritual component to the radical ideological agenda of the international left. The Pontificate of Pope Francis has subsequently called into question its own legitimacy on a multitude of occasions.“

      Forbes estimates George Soros’ fortune at $ 8.3 billion. The Open Society Foundation’s budget for 2020 is $ 1.2 billion. Catholic News Agency asked the Jesuit foundations about their ties to Soros and his pro-abortion program, but has so far received no response.

Jesuits are always fighting on opposite sides of each other, as long as the outcome furthers the Jesuit goal, Papal supremacy of the world. Hegelian Dialectic. There is a predetermined synthesis, then take two opposite sides (thesis and antithesis) and have them in conflict with each other, fighting , the goal isnt having one side win. But from the chaos, you get your synthesis. Jesuits are masters of it. You will find them in Republican and Democrat party. So no surprise a Jesuit would take money from soros, or a Jesuit trained governor being a hard leftist.

  17. Germany: Kurdish groups hold march in Hamburg

    A group of protesters from the Kurdish youth movement rallied in Hamburg on Friday to show solidarity with the Heftanin resistance and demand the release of Kurdish leader and Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) founder, Abdullah Ocalan.

    The Kurdish youth movement continued its long demonstration they named “a long march from Hannover to Hamburg” as many of them rallied the day before in Hanover, Celle, Uelzen, Lueneburg and Harburg. Around 80 protesters from these rallies took a train in the town of Luneburg, Lower Saxony to join the demo in Hamburg. As they didn’t have tickets, the train was forced to stop near the town of Bardowick, where clashes between protesters and the police occurred.

    Friday’s protest in Hamburg also saw aggression, when several attacks on reporters who were trying to film the demo happened, reports say. One car driver was also reportedly attacked after he honked in order to try to pass through the mass of demonstrators.

    The Kurdish Workers’ Party (PKK) is classified as a terrorist organization in the EU and banned in Germany. Ocalan was arrested by the Turkish secret service in Nairobi, Kenya, on February 15, 1999. He is currently serving an aggravated life imprisonment sentence in Turkey. He has been held in isolation on the prison island of Imrali, receiving only a handful of visits since 2011.

      • That is what most people are thinking and they are probably right, however in Korea the Chinese attacked in weather and temps almost as bad and forced us into the retreat back to the current border.

        The winder weather in the Mountains and the Middle East may be why Xi and Erodgan are switching roles with Xi being the one in the background while Erdogan is the one grabbing our attention.

        As the Mountains freeze and hopefully shut off any shooting war there we can expect XI to turn his attention to the South China Sea as a source of headlines to take the Chinese peoples attention off the internal problems.

    “Prime Minister Stefan Löfven has U-turned and admitted that there is a link between migration and Sweden’s rising levels of violent crime.

    The Social Democrat leader admitted that there is a connection between crime and migration during a debate in the Swedish Riksdag on Wednesday.

    Mr Löfven said: “With a large migration, where we cannot cope with integration, then there is also a greater risk of the kind of problems that we see. It’s crystal clear.”

    The prime minister’s statement came in response to questions posed by populist Sweden Democrats (SD) leader Jimmie Åkesson, who slammed the Swedish leader for refusing to admit any connection between migration and crime as recently as earlier this week, Nyheter Idag reports.

    “What I want to avoid and what we should be extremely careful about is not to connect crime automatically to skin colour or religion or anything else,” Löfven added.

    Åkesson went on to state that his argument was regarding immigration policy and its link to crime, not skin colour or religion. The populist leader said: “I want to hear Stefan Löfven take responsibility and say ‘I was wrong’.”

    The admission by Löfven comes after deputy national police chief Mats Löfving sounded the alarm last weekend over the growth and influence of migration-background clan gangs across Sweden.

    “These clans come to Sweden solely with the purpose of organising and systematising crime. They work to create power, they have a great capacity for violence, and they want to make money. And they do that with drugs, violent crimes, and extortion,” Löfving had said.

    Finland’s broadcaster YLE has speculated that the change in stance could cause a crisis in the Swedish coalition government, as the Social Democrat’s coalition partners, the Greens, are fiercely pro-mass migration.

    Earlier this year, Green MP Isabella Lövin rejected the idea of any limits on asylum seeker applications after the centre-right Moderate Party proposed a cap.”

      The Passing of Rev Dr Lloyd E Marcus

      My dad, Dr Rev Lloyd E. Marcus, passed away at age 90 June 1, 2018. The day before Dad died, my 4 younger siblings and I gathered around his bed; told him we love him; told him he did a great job raising us and told him we would be okay. It was awesome.

      We laughed a lot sharing personal experiences with Dad. My brother Jerry said when he was 13, he began walking with the popular black-dude swagger of the day. Dad asked, “What’s wrong with your leg”? Jerry said, “I’m a man”. Dad replied, “A man pays his own way. As long as you are living under my roof, you are not a man.” We all laughed because that was classic Dad. He was never harsh or mean. Dad simply instilled personal responsibility in my sister, three brothers and me. We kids laughed and joked with Dad often while always respecting him.

      Folks are probably sick of me writing about Dad’s achievements as a trailblazer of civil rights. Dad was among the first handful of blacks to become Baltimore City Firefighters; winning “Firefighter of the Year” two times. Dad was Baltimore’s first black paramedic and first black fire department Chaplin.

      I shared with my siblings that while I strive to be a good man, Dad’s passing compels me to be an even better man in honor of Dad’s legacy. My siblings said they feel the same.

      I wrote and recorded this song honoring Dad 20 years ago. My buddy Doug Balch surprised me with the production of this music video.

    A Chinese virologist who has reportedly been in hiding for fear of her safety has stepped out into the public eye again to make the explosive claim that she has the scientific evidence to prove COVID-19 was man-made in a lab in China.

    Dr. Li-Meng Yan, a scientist who says she did some of the earliest research into COVID-19 last year, made the comments Friday during an interview on British talk show “Loose Women.”

    When asked where the deadly virus that has killed more than 900,000 around the globe comes from, Yan — speaking via video chat from a secret location — replied, “It comes from the lab — the lab in Wuhan and the lab is controlled by China’s government.”

    She insisted that widespread reports that the virus originated last year from a wet market in Wuhan, China, are “a smokescreen.”

    “Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan long has declared his intention to restore the Ottoman Empire.

    Time magazine notes Erdogan has been tightening “his grip on social media freedom” and even is considering pulling Turkey out of what “is known, now farcically, as the 2011 Istanbul Convention, a treaty of the Council of Europe that commits countries to protecting women from domestic violence.”

    There is truth in Erdogan’s well-known attempts to “resurrect” the Ottoman Empire “or to style himself a sultan,” Time said.

    Now, the Middle East Media Research Institute says Erdogan has moved beyond his previous stance.

    Erdogan has declared there is “no power” that can stand in his way.

    “We will not hesitate to sacrifice martyrs in this fight – are the people of Greece, France, certain North African and Gulf countries prepared to make such sacrifices?”

    Erdogan’s remarks came in a recent speech in Ankara.

    The Turkish leader said his country is not a society with an army, but a “nation that is an army within itself.”

    He warned his nation’s “enemies” that he will “not hesitate to sacrifice martyrs.”

    He charged Greece, France, North Africa and the Gulf countries have “greedy and incompetent leaders,” claiming that Turkey never colonized; it was “a civilization” that conquered.

    “When we combine our technological superiority, our fully developed human resources, and our spiritual power … with Allah’s permission, there is no power that can stand in the way of this country,” he said.

    He told his enemies, “Bring it on.”

    “Everyone who would stand against us on land, at sea, and in the air has seen Turkey’s legitimacy and its determination in protecting its rights, interests, and capabilities based on international law. Be sure that those who have not seen it will face this reality in the field, at the diplomatic table, and in international platforms. We do not run away from a fight. We will not hesitate to sacrifice martyrs and wounded people in this fight. For our independence and our future, we will not hold back from roaring all together as 83 million people, and running over the dams that get in our way, like a flood.”

    He said the people of North Africa and the Gulf region “are eyeing Turkey’s democracy, constitutional state, and regional interests – do they realize that this process will turn around and harm them?

    “Throughout its history, Turkey has never been an aggressive country. The Turkish nation is one of the rare peoples that does not have the stain of colonialism in its past. Certainly, our civilization is one of conquest, but our understanding of conquest is not based on taking control of underground and aboveground riches along with land. On the contrary, our understanding of conquest is first the conquest of hearts.

    “Throughout the world, and particularly in Europe, we are in a period in which xenophobia, Islamophobia, anti-Turkishness, and discrimination are on the rise. Despite this, the fact that Turkey is being brought to the forefront of every negative subject is not a vulnerability of our nation. Rather, it is a sign of the fascism and animosity in the back of their minds.”

    Time reported Erdogan is modeling himself after the Ottoman Empire’s ninth sultan, Selim I, who saw “during his lifetime that the Ottoman Empire grew from a strong regional power to a gargantuan global empire.”

    The article said: “We should be wary of Erdogan’s embrace of Selim’s exclusionary vision of Turkish political power. It represents a historical example of strongman politics that led to regional wars, the attempted annihilation of religious minorities, and the monopolization of global economic resources. In addition to his attempts to monopolize natural gas reserves around Turkey, today this takes the form of Erdogan’s foreign military ventures in Libya, Syria, and Yemen. At home, he has gone after Turkey’s Shiite community, Kurds, intellectuals, Christians, journalists, women, and leftists. Erdogan cultivates his own Sunni religiosity to position Islam at the center of Turkey’s domestic agenda, with the church conversions the most potent recent symbols of this. Erdogan’s represents a political logic of zero-sum competition that pits Turkey against Saudi Arabia and Iran for control of the region and over claims of global Islamic leadership.””
