Defying repeated calls for a cease-fire, the “hostilities continue unabated, hindering access and the delivery of critical humanitarian supplies,” according to the statement.

“Public prosecutors in Oman warned citizens on Monday not to promote civil discord and sectarianism, Al-Khaleej Online has reported.
In a statement on Twitter, they said that anyone found guilty of doing so faces up to 10 years imprisonment.
“Omanis are protected by their harmony and coexistence,” the Public Prosecution Service explained. “Discord and sectarianism damage the social fabric of the country, hence the harsh punishment.””

“Italian investigators are probing Islamophobic threats against a humanitarian worker who converted to Islam during a kidnapping in Kenya and returned to Italy following her release, media reported on Tuesday.
Investigating magistrates in the northern city of Milan have opened a probe into the threats against Silvia Romano and police have stepped up patrols around her home.
Romano was 23 and working as a volunteer in an orphanage in Chakama village in southeast Kenya when she was seized by gunmen in November 2018.
Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte met with Romano in Rome on Sunday. She said that she had converted to Islam during her detention of her own free will.
“People like her would be executed by US states that apply the death penalty,” said one anonymous social media post.
“Have you ever heard of a Jew who, after being freed from a concentration camp, converted to Nazism and went home in an SS uniform?” wrote Simone Angelosante, a regional councillor for the far-right Islamophobic League party, referring to Romano’s conversion.
“Am I happy about Silvia Romano being freed? Absolutely not. Now we will have one more Muslim and four million euros less,” wrote Massimo Giorgetti, vice president of the northern Veneto region, according to the AGI news agency.
Giorgetti subsequently deleted his Facebook post.
Italian media have said that the government paid a ransom to free Romano. Five people including three children were shot and wounded during the attack on the orphanage.
The government has denied paying a ransom, but media reports say that between 1.5 and four million euros were paid.”

“A French motorcycle policeman was hospitalized with several broken teeth and lacerations to his face that required stitches after he was trapped in a sophisticated ambush by “youths” while pursuing a suspect in Lyon.
The French officer was initially.part of a motorbike brigade patrolling the Parilly area in Lyon along the Rhône River. The team was focused on an operation to apprehend a group of motorcyclists who were participating in illegal street racing and stunts, according to SudOuest.fr.
The operation, planned on May 6, was also broadcasted over social networks. The police announced that several officers arrived in the area and that were also using a helicopter, which detected the presence of illegal street races in the area near the Vénissieux metro station in the Minguettes district.
Two police motorcyclists were the first to arrive in the area and spotted an individual on a motorbike who was heading towards the Parc des Minguettes.
“Due to the several maneuvers of the biker, who was carefully followed, the two police officers were separated,” the French department for public security Sûreté du Rhône reported.
One of the policemen found himself isolated in a parking lot behind Lenin Boulevard, where a dozen people were waiting for him. The police believe the attack was coordinated and the police officer was lured to that specific location.
The group of individuals severely beaten the officer and threw stones and other projectiles at him. He managed to escape and was later transported to Saint-Joseph hospital in Lyon and placed in intensive care.
One arrest has been made in relation to the illegal street race, but police are still investigating the assault on the police officer.
France has recently been hit with a wave of riots that have targeted police and police stations during the coronavirus crisis in predominately migrant neighborhoods,
Julien Le Cam, a member of the Alliance police union, said about the violence is a threat to police safety and that “there is a rise in attacks and this is causing a lot of concern on the ground.””

Serbia: Shameful far-right protest held at the Obrenovac Immigrant Reception Center
A protest rally with the slogan “Stop illegal immigrants” was organized by the far-right movement Levijatan, of which Filip Radovanovic, who was arrested last Wednesday when he stormed the Obrenovac Reception Center, is a member.
According to news reports from the scene, Pale Bihali, the leader of the far-right movement of Levijatan, as well as Jovana Stojkovic were also present and addressed the crowd.
The far-right protesters, mostly young people, blocked the streets in front of the reception center in an attempt to re-invade it, with Stojkovic and Bihali repeatedly shouting that Radovanovic had not committed any crime so far. In the end, the gathered group of extremists applauded and raised their hands extending three fingers, the sign of victory.
Filip Radovanovic, a member of the Levijatan movement and of the Serbian national boxing team, was arrested a week ago, shortly after his violent invasion of the Obrenovac Immigrant Reception Center, and fortunately no one was injured in the process.
His whole act was broadcast live on social media. He drove through the woods around the center, tore down barbed wire and passed through Serbian Army security teams. During the live broadcast of his heinous act, far-right member Radovanovic stated that he did not want immigrants to attack his girlfriend, to live in Serbia, and to create a Muslim state. He expressed displeasure that “thousands of migrants live in Obrenovac” and “are being guarded by the Serbian army”, adding that he expected “the punishment for this to be great”. Soon his road trip came to an end by members of the Serbian Army who approached him and cut the broadcast of the invasion short. The Police was immediately informed about the invasion and with a prosecutor’s order he was arrested on charges of violent behavior
