As though following Machiavellian advice to never let a crisis go to waste, the Alberta government has quietly expanded its own powers under the Public Health Act. Bill 10, which was rushed through the legislature in less than 48 hours, gives cabinet ministers new powers to write de facto laws and create new penalties without the approval of the legislative assembly.

 

Before Bill 10 became law on April 2, Alberta’s Public Health Act already empowered politicians and bureaucrats to take property away from citizens and organizations, to force citizens to render aid, to conscript people to help deal with an emergency and to enter into any building or property without a warrant. The chief medical officer was already empowered to forcibly quarantine any person who is ill, or any person who is caring for a sick family member.

(Rule by fiat is becoming the greatest sickness in the West at this time. And rule by fiat, is no more law than anything any of us may make up from time to time. So if this site were to say that any FIAT order should be ignored, it is no more or less democratic than the fiat orders being ignored. People should be very careful obeying irrational laws set by governments with no vote or democratic processes involved. The government of Canada has taken it upon itself to be the monopoly on the use of force to ensure obedience, but it cannot apply it if the bulk of the population simply refuses to play along. So the government of Alberta must be watched very very closely.)

Australia’s prime minister is blasting the World Health Organization Tuesday over its stance on wet markets, calling it “unfathomable” that the U.N. agency supports them reopening in China.

 

Scott Morrison made the comment just days after a bipartisan group of congressional lawmakers urged WHO to shut down all wet markets globally. The markets recently began opening their doors again in Chinese cities like Wuhan, which have lifted their coronavirus lockdowns.

 

“I think that’s unfathomable, frankly. We need to protect the world against potential sources of outbreaks of these types of viruses,” Morrison told the Nine Network television station. “It’s happened too many times. I’m totally puzzled by this decision.”

(Chinese Wet Markets are another proof that policies of multiculturalism are in fact just a plot to destroy primarily Western culture. All hunting, owning pets and eventually all animal husbandry have to be ended in the West but I don’t see animal rights groups howling about Chinese Wet Markets whatsoever. 4. Islamic State terror cell ‘planning attacks on US bases’ arrested in Germany

Tajik nationals accused of planning assassinations and attacks on US air force bases in Germany

Four men were arrested in Germany on Wednesday on suspicion of planning terror attacks on behalf of the Islamic State group.

 

The arrested men, all nationals of Tajikistan, are suspected of planning assassinations and attacks against US military bases in Germany, prosecutors said.

 

They had allegedly scouted out possible targets and obtained firearms and live ammunition, as well as components to manufacture home-made explosives.

 

“They were in contact with two high-ranking Islamic State (IS) leaders in Syria and Afghanistan, from whom they received instructions,” prosecutors alleged in a statement.

 

The four men were held at their homes in a series of police raids in the western state of North Rhine-Westphalia in the early hours of Wednesday morning. They have been named only as Azizjon B, Muhammadali G, Farhodshoh K and Sunatullokh K under German privacy laws….
