The great tragedy, is not the deaths of so many people by drowning in their own fluids in Italy, Iran or China. Nope. Its that a few people have to delay getting mutilating cosmetic surgery till the hospitals have enough room again to do trivial procedures that shouldn’t be done in the first place.

Though medical facilities may soon become overtaxed for everyone, the coronavirus pandemic has shed light on how transgender people’s care can be treated as “non-essential.”
For transgender and gender non-conforming people, gender-affirming surgeries are life-altering procedures, which, for many, can greatly reduce gender dysphoria and improve their quality of life. But in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, trans communities on Reddit and Twitter are being flooded with reports of postponed and canceled surgeries in the U.S., U.K., Spain, Thailand, and elsewhere, leading to enormous stress and disappointment on top of a global health crisis.
This underscores a common experience amongst trans people seeking medical care or surgery: Research has suggested that gender-affirming surgery, in particular, has a notable and long-term impact on mental health, but far too often, trans people already waitfar longer than is safe or healthyfor this care. Further delays can be dangerous and even life-threatening.
Violet Jones, a 29-year-old trans woman and assistant professor in New York, has a procedure scheduled for May that hasn’t been cancelled yet, but she feels it’s imminent. NYC is a national leader in transgender care, but Mayor Bill de Blasio has issued an executive order delaying all non-emergency surgery for the next few weeks.

If I get this virus I will certainly be fighting for my life and will probably lose the fight…:( That being said, I can’t help wondering why they don’t focus all their attention on people like me and leave the younger people alone? I wouldn’t exactly mind if the grocery stores started doing free deliveries for seniors or if doctors would do some home or telephone visits instead of making me sit in a roomful of possible infectors, but I don’t need them to destroy the world’s economy in the name of safety. Oh, and a good dose of the already-common flu could kill me just the same so that is what it is. Test people who work in the senior’s home or otherwise come into contact with the vulnerable, but don’t try to test everyone on planet Earth. Get some trucks and deliver some food and medicine while working on a vaccine and let us old sickies take care of ourselves…
Apart from that, I’m doing a splendid job of quarantining myself, thank you very much, and see no benefit in closing down the high-school considering that none of the people there are in danger. Like, what happens if millions of people start starving to death as the business of the world grinds to a halt and nobody can get anything? What if there is suddenly no food on the shelves and no water in the taps? Are they effing nuts?
And just you wait a few months and watch the Democrats use this over-reaction as a club to beat Trump with leading up to the election. You are about to hear the word, “INCOMPETENCE” repeated more times than you thought possible. I think the whole thing is an elaborate Trump trap…
I wasn’t feeling well for the past few days, but really not well, and I started wondering about the flu. I was worried but then, you have to let it run its course.
I’m feeling much better today although not completely fine.
That said, I have to go the grocery store tomorrow. I’m out of flavored sparkling water – I drink at least 16 bottles a week (3 flavors) with loads of ice cubes. I have to stock up also on something solid such as meat.
So, I’m thinking what is the most worrisome part of my short journey tomorrow? The grocery cart! So, I figured a way to protect my hands. I dug out of my recycling bin two toilet paper roll cylinders. I cut them open and I’ll use them to wrap around the cart handle.
Necessity is the mother of invention.
I’ve booked an appointment with the plastic surgeon to have my lips enlarged to the point that I look like an effing grouper or, perhaps, a lingcod. Then I’m going to have enormous butt-implants installed so I look like Kim Kardashian from behind. I’m not being vain, I really, really believe that I cannot live without these vital improvements…
Well the Governors of California and New York, no friends of President Trump, have praised the efforts of the administration, G of C saying they had done everything they had promised to do.

The Roxham Road illegal crossing: We all know Trudeau had no intention of shutting it down, he never even attempted to and had no interest in doing so.
And Trump never moved to stop the flow of aliens slipping into Quebec because it was beneficial to him, aka less illegals to deal with in his own territory.
So, what happened? Aside from the many Canadians I’ve read asking Trump to close that small road, is it possible that Quebec’s Premier François Legault – who has been insistent for quite some time on shutting down that crossing – somehow got in touch with Trump or someone close to Trump?
Probably Trump stopped the flights into the Northern NY state airport where all these illegals are flying into, then getting taxis to the border and walking across.
He would have stopped it because its also a danger to the US
Good point but they also come from other areas in the USA.
I think, now that they know they’ll be deported, a few ICE or Border agents will be sufficient to guard the USA border.
