Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

  3. Silver is at $15.87 right now. Gold has been on a roller coaster, undulating under massive paper pressures, soaring and falling. The reason we can be quite certain of the paper angle on this is simply because physical is not thrown around with such alacrity. Paper does the bankers’ and traders’ dirty work. Even if the Freegold paradigm was planned for some future time, the Giants undoubtedly are looking now to decide whether to adjust their calendars. Look for an emergency meeting to come. Maybe it will be advertised as an emergency economic summit. In attendance will be the major gold-holding nations. The U.S., China, Russia, India, European countries…

    Only the giants sit at that table. Freegold will be established, unless of course the Neo-Marxists hold sway, but I highly doubt that. Smart money does not bullshit itself like commies do, so they will be told quite impolitely to stand in the hallway outside.

    You will see the banks announce their closure on a Friday. There will be nothing you can do about it. When they reopen, the sky will be a different hue of blue. I like that. Hue of blue. It will be better then. Money will be more real and so will people. The nonsense we’ve suffered at the hands of postmodernism will be essentially over. The Keynesian 100-year experiment starting in 1913 (yes, I know Keynes came later but J.P. Morgan saw the game before Keynes) will enter a new era. I’m not so naive as to think the bankers will let go–of course they won’t they never have–but it will be a new paradigm because it’s time. August 15, 1971 was long enough ago.

  4. Schools here announced yesterday they will extend March break and keep schools closed for two extra weeks. Wishful thinking, I say. That’s likely it for the school year. What I truly don’t understand, something it took my kids to explain to me, was just how many of their classmates parents were flying them off on holiday. I mean, how blinded by one’s normalcy bias must one be? Are they so oblivious that they give no thought to their faring in a foreign health care system that will also be stricken? Cuba? Some other shit hole? It amazes me. At least the authorities are cognizant enough to realize these traveling children may return with Wuhan and spread it, so are shutting things down for now.

  7. Germany: Arrest warrant will not be executed – An Iraqi who smashed half the face of a man with an axe is allegedly insane

    The arrest warrant against the 34-year-old Iraqi, who has been convicted of several criminal offences and who smashed half of the face of a 33-year-old Munich resident with an axe in front of his wife, will not be enforced. According to the public prosecutor’s office, the migrant is said to have psychological problems and was therefore placed in a psychiatric ward.

    Last Sunday, a 34-year-old Iraqi suddenly ran in front of the hood of a 33-year-old car driver in Munich. After the car driver brought his vehicle to a halt, the Iraqi hit the hood as if he was mad. The Munich resident got out of the car and wanted to take the rioter to task. Thereupon the Iraqi pulled an axe, hit his victim in the head on the left side and cut off almost half of his face. The aggressor missed the carotid artery and the artery in the collarbone area by a hair’s breadth. The wife of the professional driver had to watch helplessly from the passenger seat as her husband was attacked and collapsed covered in blood.

    The migrant who had been living in Munich for three years fled. However, after the Iraqi had already been known to the police because of dangerous bodily harm three times and twice for other offences, he could be located and arrested because of the fingerprints left on the bonnet.

    After the crime, it was quickly stated that the axe migrant had psychological problems. The public prosecutor’s office therefore requested his transfer to a psychiatric clinic. The original arrest warrant was not enforced and the transfer was ordered instead, a police spokesperson said on Thursday according to the news magazine Focus. He is now under investigation for dangerous bodily harm. An answer to the question of why this Merkel guest was not expelled long ago, when he became known to the police five times in total, the magazine Focus cannot answer. Instead, the mainstream magazine shuts off the reader commentary section, since “experience has shown that an objective discussion is not to be expected on this topic”.

    “The border between Greece and Turkey is becoming increasingly militarised, with heavily armed personnel from either side continuing to pour into the region as illegal migrants seek to punch through the European Union’s common external border with Turkish president’s blessing.

    Greece is well-accustomed to having its airspace and territorial waters violated hundreds or even thousands of times a year by its much larger neighbour — a NATO ally, on paper — which makes a number of claims on Greek islands and other border territories.

    But President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s decision to “open the gates” to Europe on his side of the frontier — and the Greek government’s decision to hold fast, in contrast to its stance in 2015 — has heightened tensions enormously, with the Turks accused of having an active role in transporting migrants to the border, co-ordinating their attempts to breach it, and even arming them with tear gas to attack Greek border forces.

    These have been heavily reinforced by the Greek armed forces, who the Turks, in turn, have accused of firing on and even killing migrants.

    Turkish armed forces are extremely active in the region as well, facing down their Greek counterparts through border fencing and across the Evros river, as well as putting special forces patrol boats into the water.

    As the Turkish police have been accused of firing tear gas on Greek border guards to support attempts by migrants to break through — accusations seemingly supported by video evidence — so Turkish soldiers have now been accused of firing directly at the Greeks, greatly increasing the chances of a deadly incident on the embattled frontier.

    Reinforcements for the Greek border guards pledged by some of the European Union’s more pro-borders member-states, including Austria, Poland, and Cyprus, have also begun to arrive in theatre.

    Photographs published by the Associated Press show heavily armoured Austrian police special forces vehicles are now present in the region, along with personnel operating surveillance drones near the village of Dadia.

    The European Union’s rhetorical support for the Greek government’s robust action to prevent an influx on the scale of 2015-16, which has included suspending all asylum applications and turning back migrants who do reach Greek territory, may be beginning to fade, however.

    Ylva Johansson, the European Commission responsible for migration, said of a meeting with the Greeks: “We are going to discuss actually what they are doing, but they have to let people apply for asylum.”

    The Swedish social democrat suggested that the Greek government was breaking EU law, regardless of its claims to have activated a clause in the EU treaties allowing it to bar migrants — “Individuals in the European Union have the right to apply for asylum. This is in the treaty, this is in international law. This we can’t suspend,” she said.”

    “The European border protection agency, Frontex, says it has deployed another 100 border guards to Greece to help protect the European Union’s frontier there from pressure of migrants.

    Warsaw-based Frontex said Friday the deployment of guards from 22 member states is part of a rapid border intervention requested by Athens. The assistance will also include vessels, maritime surveillance aircraft and Thermal-Vision Vehicles, for the Frontex maritime Rapid Border Intervention task, Aegean 2020.

    Frontex already has more than 500 officers in Greece, as well as 11 vessels and other equipment.

    “The presence of 100 officers from all around Europe underlines the fact that the protection of the European area of freedom, security and justice is a shared responsibility of all Member States and Frontex,” Frontex quoted its executive director, Fabrice Leggeri, as saying during the launch of the operation in the Greek town of Orestiada.

    Greece has been trying to stop a massive wave of migrants pushing in from Turkey, in a crisis that erupted last month.

    Athens says more than 45,000 attempted entries have been thwarted, including more than 500 on Thursday — when for a second day migrants threw Molotov cocktails at Greek border troops and police. Greek units were also attacked with tear gas and responded in kind.

    Earlier in the week, two Frontex border surveillance planes were deployed to Greece.

    The agency said the rapid border interventions are planned for two months but can be extended if needed.”

    “Turkish and Russian troops will begin jointly patrolling a key highway in northwest Syria on Sunday as part of a fragile truce brokered by the countries, Turkey’s defense minister said Friday.

    Hulusi Akar made the announcement after Turkish and Russian officials ended four days of talks in Ankara over the technicalities of the cease-fire reached last week for Syria’s Idlib province.

    The cease-fire by Russia and Turkey — which support the opposing sides in the Syria conflict — called for the establishment of a security corridor along Syria’s M4 highway, running east-west in Idlib, with joint patrols by Russian and Turkish troops.

    Speaking to reporters, Akar said the Russian and Turkish delegations agreed to “set up joint coordination centers” for Idlib. The minister did not provide further details.

    “Our hope is for truce to rapidly become a permanent one,” the minister said.

    The truce halted a three-month air and ground campaign by the Syrian government against the rebel-held province. That offensive killed hundreds and sent 1 million people fleeing toward the Turkish border.

    The Russian-backed Syrian government offensive made significant gains in Syria’s last rebel stronghold. Turkey sent thousands of troops across the border to reinforce the rebels, leading to rare direct fighting between Syrian and Turkish troops.

    The cease-fire deal also appeared to achieve Moscow’s key goal of allowing the Syrian government to keep hold of the strategic north-south highway known as the M5. Syrian forces had captured its last segments in the latest offensive, which began in early December.”

    SARAJEVO: Bosnian police on Wednesday arrested six migrants accused of raping several teenagers at a reception centre where they were living in the country´s northwest.

    Bosnia has become a key transit country for thousands of migrants from Asia, Africa and the Middle East who traverse the Balkans every year in hopes of reaching Western Europe.

    Among them are hundreds of minors travelling alone who are particularly vulnerable to myriad dangers of the journey, rights groups warn.

    The suspects, six men in their late teens and early 20s from Afghanistan and Pakistan, were arrested in a migrant centre in the town of Bihac in an “operation targeting persons suspected of rape”, a police spokesman said.

    There are “several” victims who “are minors accommodated in the same centre,” spokesman Ale Siljdedic told AFP.

    BOSNIA – BIHAC – Una-Sana Canton police raids Bira Reception Center, ten migrants arrested

    More than 150 officers of the Interior Ministry of the Una-Sana Canton (USC MoI) participated this morning in a raid of the premises of the Bira Reception Camp in Bihac. The police arrested ten Afghan and Pakistani nationals, and a certain amount of narcotics and items were found that could have served to cause harm and physical injuries.

    “The operation of the police was aimed at finding suspects for committing crimes against sexual freedom and morality, including the crimes of rape and sexual assault against an impaired person. We also searched for persons related to the criminal offenses of drug abuse, i.e., unauthorized production, distribution and use of narcotic drugs, as well as criminal offenses against property and robberies. Of course, the operation was aimed at finding items and leads which could serve in the further procedure, but also items that could be used as a means of causing injuries,” said the USC MoI spokesman Ale Siljdedic.

    Ten beneficiaries of the camp, nationals of Afghanistan and Pakistan and are suspected of committing these offenses.

    “Criminal proceedings are pending against them, after which they will be transferred to the Prosecutor’s Office of the Una Sana for further proceeding. Due to the sensitivity of such cases, the Center for Social Work of the City of Bihac is included in all activities,” Siljdedic added.

    The Bira Temporary Reception Camp in Bihac currently houses nearly 2,000 people, including 350 to 400 minors and unaccompanied children. It has also been confirmed that more than 5,000 illegal migrants are located in the canton, and that 100 new people arrive almost daily.

    Migrants arrested on suspicion of rape in Bosnia

    Six migrants from Afghanistan and Pakistan were arrested in Bosnia and Herzegovina on Wednesday on suspicion of raping unaccompanied minors staying at the same camp. A further four men were arrested in the same operation on suspicion of drug trafficking and possession.

    Bosnian police stated on Wednesday, March 11 that they have arrested six Pakistani and Afghan migrants at a camp called Bira in the north-western region of Bihac. The men have been accused of raping unaccompanied minors in the same camp.

    A police spokesman told the news agency AFP that they believed the men had raped “several” victims. Some of the six suspects have been accused of committing rape and others are arrested on suspicion of assisting the group.

    A further four migrants at the camp were also arrested on suspicion of “drug trafficking and possession,” the same spokesman told AFP.

    According to the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the suspects and alleged victims were all housed in a camp on the site of a former refrigerator factory. The Bira camp site is currently hosting between 1,700 and 1,950 migrants.

    The Pakistani satellite TV channel Samaa TV reported that among the nearly 2,000 migrants at the camp there are thought to be between 350 and 400 unaccompanied minors, the majority being boys between 15 and 17 years of age.

    According to the online news portal Balkan Insight, the Bosnian Security Minister Fahrudin Radoncic stated a few days ago that he believed there were between 6,000 and 7,000 migrants currently on Bosnian territory. The country says it is ill-prepared to receive any more and is worried about a rise in numbers of migrants that could arrive from Turkey in the coming weeks. He called a fresh wave of migrants a “disaster” for the country.

    NAIROBI (Reuters) – Kenya, Ethiopia, Sudan and Guinea all confirmed their first cases of the new coronavirus on Friday, giving the disease a foothold in 18 countries on the African continent.

    Africa had so far largely been spared the rapid spread of COVID-19, which has infected at least 127,000 and killed 4,700 worldwide.

      The U.S. peace deal with the Taliban in Afghanistan and Turkey’s increasing involvement in the Syrian quagmire are both dangerous from Iran’s perspective. The Americans invaded Afghanistan to neutralize the threat it posed to the world after the Taliban helped al-Qaeda carry out the 9/11 terrorist attacks against the U.S.

  25. New Zealand: Friday prayer held to mark 1st anniv. of Christchurch mosque shooting

    Hundreds of people attended a joint Friday prayer at the Horncastle Arena in Christchurch, ahead of the one-year anniversary of the attacks on two local mosques, that claimed 51 lives and left 49 injured.

    Footage shows high police and security presence around the venue, with attendees and vehicles being screened and checked before entering.

    “Today is one year now, and it’s quite nervous because it’s like yesterday now but also it’s too long, and it has reached one year, and it’s difficult, and it’s very mixed feelings,” said one of the shooting’s survivors, Temel Atacocugu.

    The anniversary is on Sunday, however, it was the mosques’ Friday prayers that were targeted last year.

    On March 15, 2019, a lone assailant gunned down 42 and nine of his victims at the Al Noor Mosque and Linwood Islamic Centre respectively, in what is New Zealand’s worst terrorist attack to date. The attack was live-streamed by the gunman on Facebook.

    In June, 28-year-old Brenton Tarrant, accused of the mosque shootings, pleaded not guilty to 51 charges of murder, 40 charges of attempted murder and one terrorism-related charge during the hearing in a video link from his maximum-security prison in Auckland.

    The trial is reportedly due to begin on June 2.

    Following the double attack, New Zealand passed a law banning military-style semiautomatic weapons and assault rifles, with violators facing five years in prison.

  26. UK: Tommy Robinson goes to High Court over Syrian child bullying case

    Tommy Robinson appeared in High Court in London on Thursday over his comments about a Syrian refugee boy who was filmed being attacked at his school in Huddersfield.

    The English Defence League founder who’s real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon posted a comment about the video on social media accusing the boy of having previous assaulted two girls.

    A video showing Jamal Hijazi, then 16, being forced to the floor by a boy who said “I’ll drown you” while pouring water from a bottle into his mouth at Almondbury School provoked outrage and public sympathy in 2018.

    Robinson reportedly commented that Hijazi had attacked “English girls in his school”, that he “beat a girl black and blue” and “threatened to stab” another boy.

    The preliminary hearing at High Court in London set a timetable for a six-day libel trial to begin at some point next year.

  29. Syrian Man Prosecuted in Sweden for Circumcising Boys With Soldering Gun, No Anaesthesia

    The man, who with only nine months of medical training considered himself a circumcision expert, explained using a soldering gun as a way “to kill off the bacteria with heat”.

    A man is his 30s is being prosecuted for having circumcised at least nine boys in the Swedish towns of Gävle and Söderhamn using a soldering gun as a tool and no anaesthesia whatsoever, the news outlet Hela Hälsingland reported.

    The man charged reportedly received nine months of medical training in Syria, but has no such training in Sweden.

    He explained using a soldering gun in the process in order “to kill off the bacteria with heat”. The man considered himself an expert in circumcisions, but has no permission to perform the operation in Sweden.

    According to the indictment, he has circumcised a total of nine boys, seven of whom have had complications that in some cases may need to be corrected with surgical procedures. One of the outcomes was described as “one giant wound”.

    The parents paid for the medical procedure using the Swish payment service and were under the delusion that it was all legal and safe.

    They unanimously stated that the person who organised the circumcisions used to be in charge of the now closed Muslim pre-school Bilaal in Söderhamn and was perceived as reliable. According to the parents, the man was also active in the interventions by holding the boys. He himself said that he only participated as an interpreter. He is currently not suspected of any crime.

    “He was unaware that this person did not have a permit, therefore it is impossible to prove that the suspect had the intent required for the procedure to be classified as criminal”, prosecutor Micael Dahlberg Hela Hälsingland.

    The “doctor” is now charged with assault, causing gross bodily harm, and violating the circumcision law.

    Male circumcision is legal in Sweden, however there is a perennial debate about its ethicality, and many, including the Swedish Association for Sexuality Education urge to ban it alongside female circumcision, which is more often referred to as female genital mutilation, or FGM, and has been illegal since 1982.

    In late 2019, the newspaper Svenska Dagbladet sounded the alarm about the spread of illegal circumcisions in Sweden, often performed by people without medical credentials or legal permission to operate. The illegal operations usually take place at home and are usually several thousand kronor cheaper than doing a non-medically justified circumcision legally.

    While there is no exact data on how many people in Sweden are circumcised, a government estimate says that between 80-85 percent of Jewish boys, almost 100 Muslim boys and almost all boys of African origin are circumcised, regardless of how secular their families are.

    African states have begun to take similar measures, asking travellers from the United States and 11 European countries to postpone travel to the country or face a two-week quarantine on arrival, according to the Globe and Mail.

    Kenya and Zanzibar have also announced bans on travel from Italy, while the Democratic Republic of the Congo is imposing a 14-day self-quarantine rule on travellers from China, Italy, France and Germany.

    Curiously, reporting on these Asian and African travel bans appears to have been reported in entirely neutral terms, while Western leaders such as U.S. President Donald Trump have been accused of racism and xenophobia for similar measures — or even for simply referencing China as the source of the coronavirus, or referring to it as “foreign”.

There are only three choices on the matter; warming; cooling; or no change. Since the beginning of time, the planet’s climate has always been changing, so we rule out the no change opinion. Although this hasn’t prevented the warming crowd from re-naming their nemesis “climate change,” so they can avoid having to take a hard look at the facts and their implications. That leaves the real alternatives – warming or cooling.

    The evidence that the earth is warming is convincing. This brings us head-to-head with their assumption that a warming planet is bad and that it is caused by humans. Without discussing the matter, the “climate change” alarmists just assume that the climate is warming and that’s bad. That leaves us with the single question of how to stop or reverse it.

    His sexual affair with Monica Lewinsky, Bill Clinton explains, was a way to “manage my anxieties.” That plays into the “Me Too” narrative and the notion that Hillary is a victim of sexism. Fox News revisited the Lewinsky liaison in a “Scandalous” documentary and so did Kenneth Starr’s 2018 Contempt: A Memoir of the Clinton Investigation. In reality, there were two Clinton investigations, and they break down like the movies in Pauline Kael’s Kiss Kiss Bang Bang.

    Turkey’s Islamist President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is trying to engineer a mass invasion from Turkey into Greece of thousands of Syrian refugees and migrants. He has broken a deal reached with the European Union in 2016 to close its border with Europe to stem the flood of immigrants from the Middle East. He took Europe’s money that was part of the deal but is now reopening his country’s border with Greece to extort more concessions. “We will continue the current measure on our frontiers until all of our expectations are concretely met,” Erdogan said recently.

    When Greece pushed back to protect its border from the invasion, Erdogan lashed out. “There is no difference with what the Nazis did and the images from the border,” he declared as he made unproven claims of “barbaric” tactics supposedly used by Greek border guards.

    As Breitbart pointed out, “The slur against Greece is notable, as some 300,000 people were killed during the 1941 Nazi occupation of the country, which near-wiped out Greece’s Jewish population.” Then again, we should not be surprised. Erdogan is an avowed anti-Semite who has indulged in conspiracy theories blaming Jews for the world’s problems.

It should not be surprising that the World Health Organization (WHO), a branch of the United Nations, has been so aggressive in cheerleading for the Chinese government and its response to the coronavirus outbreak.

    The Democratic Party has always been weak on national security when it comes to China. But some credit is due when it comes to China’s atrocious human-rights record and its theft of American jobs. For a generation, prominent Democrats loudly criticized Beijing on these fronts, well before Donald Trump helped form a new national consensus on China. Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi have been longstanding China trade hawks, for instance. Even a socialist like Bernie Sanders has been a reliable critic.

  50. Coronavirus: European Leaders Finally Acknowledge Scale of Crisis

    The Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) has now reached more than 45 countries in Europe, where (as of March 12) more than 30,000 people have tested positive for the disease, according to a Gatestone Institute tally based on calculations from European health ministries.

    The disease is spreading fast: more than 28,000 coronavirus cases (93% of all cases) in Europe were confirmed during just the first twelve days of March. The number of new cases has been doubling, on average, every 72 hours.

    Italy is Europe’s worst-affected country, followed by Spain, France and Germany. Twelve other European countries have reported coronavirus cases in the triple digits: Switzerland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Austria, Greece, the Czech Republic, Finland and Iceland.

    In Europe as a whole, more than 1,200 people — 4.0% of those confirmed as having been infected — have died from COVID-19.

    The European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), in a risk assessment, warned that the actual number of COVID-19 cases in Europe could be far higher due to under-detection, particularly among mild or asymptomatic cases that do not lead to a visit to the hospital.
