1. Alarmed Italy Locks Down North To Prevent Spread Of Coronavirus

MILAN (Reuters) – Italy ordered a virtual lockdown across a swathe of its wealthy north on Sunday, including the financial capital Milan, in a drastic new attempt to try to contain a rapidly growing outbreak of coronavirus.

The unprecedented restrictions, which will impact some 16 million people and stay in force until April 3, were signed into law overnight by Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte.

The new measures say people should not enter or leave Lombardy, Italy’s richest region, as well as 14 provinces in four other regions, including the cities of Venice, Modena, Parma, Piacenza, Reggio Emilia and Rimini.

Conte said nobody would be allowed to move in or out of these areas, or within them, unless they had proven, work-related reasons for doing so, or health issues.

2. Troops Deployed To U.S.-Mexico Border In Case Of Refugee Rush

(It is almost like Islam and communists have decided to do a joint major push on the destruction of the Western, non-Islamic nation states and the US is getting ready for it while Trudeau is likely getting ready to destroy Canada by encouraging it)

Additional troops are reportedly being sent to the U.S.-Mexico border. According to new reports, the military has reassigned 160 troops to the ports of entry in El Paso, Texas, and San Ysidro, California.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection confirmed the troops are scheduled to be there for about two weeks, but said their stay could be extended.

The move came in response to a federal court’s decision to dismantle the ‘Remain in Mexico’ policy in California and Arizona. The court ruled that the initiative violated U.S. and international law.

The policy has blocked asylum seekers, particularly those traveling through or from South America, from entering the U.S. until their claims have been heard in court. Since going into effect over a year ago, about 60,000 asylum seekers have begun taking refuge in Mexico while they await possible entry into the U.S.

Authorities have expressed concern the new ruling could bring a rush of asylum seekers to the border.

This week, the administration filed an appeal against the court. The Justice Department has released a statement, saying “the decision ignores the constitutional authority of Congress and the administration.”

3. 42 tonnes of petroleum coke spilled in CN derailment near Prince George

CN Rail now says a “a small amount” of petroleum coke was spilled into a creek in Giscome, northeast of Prince George when a train derailed in the area on Thursday.

The incident led to the evacuation of a nearby elementary school on Thursday. The school remained closed on Friday.

The B.C. Ministry of Environment says CN responders have begun cleanup of an estimated 42 tonnes of petroleum coke which spilled in the vicinity of Hay Creek.

5. Polish government offers real help

(I wouldn’t trust any ‘help’ from Germany or France as those are the nations primarily responsible for the NGOs that are creating this problem. Generally however I have learned not to trust videos that are edited abruptly like that one is. There may be some modifier in there we wouldn’t like at all)

6. In this video, Germany’s Merkel appears to be taking Turkey’s side on this. Which is no surprise to anyone paying attention. We will have MissPiggy look at this and do it if its clear that is what is happening.

7. Muslims try and take down the Greek border with Turkey

8. Women’s March in Pakistan’s Islamabad Attacked by Religious Groups – Photo, Video

New Delhi (Sputnik): Pakistani women in their thousands took to the streets in Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Quetta, and Sukkur on Sunday to mark the Aurat Azadi March (Women’s Freedom March).

The Aurat Azadi March in Islamabad was allegedly attacked by the religious parties on Sunday.

9. The Greeks appear to be fortifying the border with razor wire

10. Reports: Turkish Police Use Drones to Organise Tear Gas Attacks on Greek Border Guards

Turkish police used drones to organise attacks against Greek security forces tasked with protecting the nation’s borders from thousands of migrants attempting to illegally cross into the country, according to reports.

On Friday, Greek security forces were bombarded with smoke bombs and tear gas fired from the Turkish side of the border at the Kastanies checkpoint on the Evros river. It is now alleged that Turkish police used drones to co-ordinate the onslaught upon Greek security forces.

During the attack, members of the Turkish police force were seen handing out wire cutters to migrants to help them cut through the border fence separating the two countries, according to the Greek Reporter.

The escalation in violence at the border follows the decision by the Islamist president of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, to “open the gates” to migrants attempting to enter Europe.

The move is widely seen as a retaliation for Europe insufficiently backing his invasion of northern Syria to crush Kurdish forces and prop up jihadist rebels in Idlib.

The decision by Erdogan abrogtated the 2016 agreement between Turkey and the European Union, which required Turkey halt the flow of migration into the EU in return for billions of euros in aid.

A worthy comments by ET.

  1. 9 – That is some serious fortification that is going on, the razor wire is bad enough but the big spikes behind it are to prevent people falling on the wire so those following them can use their bodies as a bridge to breach the fortifications. You would need explosives placed among hte wire or a heavy artillery barrage to breach that area of the border.

Are the Greeks going to fortify their entire border this heavily?

10 – The Turks aren’t making any secret of their support for the invaders, they seem to be hoping that the heavily occupied nations will not be able to send military aid to Greece. Merkel and Macron will also do all they can to prevent aid being sent to Greece.

The summer hasn’t started yet but it looks like it is going to be long and probably militarily and politically hot.

  3. 6 Merkel is saying that she understands that Erdogan doesn’t feel sufficiently supported by the EU – btw she says that, apart from the Syrians, there’s nearly a million Afghans and Iranians in Turkey.

But she finds it unacceptable that refugees are being used as a bargaining chip in this game, and so oes Macron.
