1. CBC, Aug.2 2019: Canadian lab’s shipment of Ebola, Henipah viruses to China raises questions
Scientists at the National Microbiology Lab sent live Ebola and Henipah viruses to Beijing on an Air Canada flight March 31, and while the Public Health Agency of Canada says all federal policies were followed, there are questions about whether that shipment is part of an ongoing RCMP investigation.
Ebola and Henipah are Level 4 pathogens, meaning they’re some of the deadliest viruses in the world. They must be contained in a lab with the highest level of biosafety control, such as the one in Winnipeg.
Two months after that shipment, on May 24, the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) referred an “administrative matter” to RCMP that resulted in the removal of two Chinese research scientists — Xiangguo Qiu and Keding Cheng — and several international students on July 5.

5. Mohammed Nuru, head of SF Public Works, arrested in FBI corruption probe
A newly released federal complaint has detailed the stunning allegations that led to the FBI arresting Public Works Director Muhammed Nuru and a San Francisco businessman over a series of suspected pay-to-play schemes.
In the biggest public corruption scandal to shake City Hall since 2015, Nuru and local entrepreneur Nick Bovis of famed Union Square sports bar Lefty O’Doul’s have each been charged with one count of wire fraud.
Nuru, 57, and Bovis, 56, allegedly attempted to bribe an airport commissioner to help win a bid for a restaurant lease at San Francisco International Airport in exchange for an envelope full of cash and an apparent vacation.
The alleged kickback scheme was just one of five that federal authorities described in a complaint released Tuesday after surveilling Nuru and Bovis with FBI wiretaps and undercover operators since at least 2018.
The allegations against Nuru also involve sharing a $2,070 bottle of wine with a billionaire developer in China and having city contractors work on his vacation home near the Mendocino National Forest.
Nuru is also accused of helping Bovis win contracts both to open a restaurant at the Transbay Transit Center, and to provide mobile housing and toilets to the homeless, according to the complaint.

7. A regular contributor to this site, Medforth, who had the blogger site, Searchlight and had a consistent and good set of translations of the effects of Islam in Germany, was taken down by Google. Personally I never saw anything that wasn’t pretty much a straight news story there. No inventive or editorializing. Which may lead one to think that Google has a specific agenda about what it is they want you to know.
Medforth’s material can still be found at these sites:
I believe also at Minds.com and other platforms as well. Will add as I am made aware.

10. Once again, political correctness is more important than life itself, as concerns about choices made to avoid populations most likely to have contact with China, are deemed racist.
UK Schools Warned to Watch Out For “Xenophobia” as Coronavirus Spreads
(Most sites do recommend washing hands a lot. But so far none have suggested avoiding China towns when that seems a more likely vector for getting the virus than something already on your hands. This would not be racist against Chinese people any more than avoiding some area of the city where people are back and forth to an Ebola outbreak location. Its just the most basic of reason.)
The UK Boarding Schools’ Association is more concerned about mean words on the Internet than the outbreak of the coronavirus, warning its students that any expressions of “xenophobia” against Chinese people will not be tolerated.
Despite the fact that there have been no such recorded instances of “xenophobia” by the Association, it “issued new instructions that its members should be watchful for prejudice against Chinese pupils by others, be it online or in person.”
Schools were warned to “stay alert for any signs of xenophobia by students towards one another, or by any external audiences, either in school or on social media sites.”
“Such behaviour should not be tolerated and action should be taken against anyone acting in this way,” said the Association, despite its spokesperson admitting, “We have not heard of anything happening in our schools.”
Thank God courageous school authorities have their finger on the pulse amidst a rapidly spreading potential pandemic and have faced up to the real threat it poses to large numbers of people gathered in close spaces; That threat being that someone might get offended.
(If they want real examples of racism, in Canada at least, maybe they should look at upper limit quotas on Oriental students at universities like they used to have for Jewish people)

Yesterday we posted a video about the Austrian Justice minister and her affinity for Salafist islam while being a “super-feminist”.
Here is some information about the man who made the video:
The following video presentation was recorded by a man named Irfan Peci. Mr. Peci was born in Serbia, and in the early 1990s, when he was still very small, his family moved to Germany to escape the Balkan wars.
As a young man he was recruited by the local Al Qaeda affiliate in Germany, and worked for their propaganda organization.
He was eventually arrested and imprisoned by the German authorities. While he was still in prison he was de-radicalized, and when he left prison became an undercover agent within Al Qaeda for the German government. After he was exposed, he wrote a book about his experiences and started producing videos.

7 Searchlight down, that’s bad news. I wonder what the reason is, the Blogger.com message says it’s because of a ToS violation. It also says that the blog will be reactivated if appropriate changes are made within 80 days, but it seems Medforth isn’t interested in that. Not sure why.
