Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

    • What I am afraid of is that he will flush his toilet in response to our attacks on Iran, the filthy Turk wants to be Caliph that means he has to be concerned about all actions against Islamic countries, even those he is fighting. Everyone is focusing on Iran, now is the time for another nation to move, Turkey in Libya or the Balkans feels like a good bet.

        As far as Iran, he’s limited in public expressions of friendship. Turks and Syrian refugees in Turkey abhor the Twisted-Ragheads and their shitte militias. That’s the biggest constraint on this amoral, devil.

    “Schools in the Paris suburbs of Seine-Saint-Denis are increasing meditation workshops in an effort to reduce the burgeoning problem with violence on campuses in the area.

    The workshops, which include the yoga-based relaxation technique sophrology, started in 2015 in various schools across the no-go suburbs and, according to some school officials, the workshops have led to a decrease in violent behaviour, Le Parisien reports.

    Cybele Rusé, the principal of ENNA application high school in Saint-Denis, said after the workshops she saw a change in student behaviour saying, “We have fewer incidents, fewer fights. The students are more involved in the life of the school.”

    Simon, a professor of mathematics at Fabien college, added, “With sophrology, we have concrete tools to try to defuse certain situations. For example, a student is asked to touch an object in their pocket to try to divert it from their anger.”…”

    “A car bomb exploded at a checkpoint in Somalia’s capital Wednesday morning, killing three people and wounding six others, a local official said. The al-Qaida-linked al-Shabab extremist group quickly claimed responsibility.

    Salah Omar, a spokesman for Mogadishu’s mayor, told The Associated Press the blast occurred as soldiers conducted searches at a checkpoint. He said the bomb attached to the vehicle was remotely detonated.

    Al-Shabab often targets checkpoints, hotels and government offices in Somalia’s capital despite being pushed out of Mogadishu years ago.

    Wednesday’s attack follows a devastating truck bombing in Mogadishu on Dec. 28 that killed at least 78 people, including many university students. It was the worst attack in Mogadishu since the devastating 2017 truck bombing that killed hundreds.

    On Sunday, al-Shabab fighters overran a key military base used by U.S. counterterror forces in neighboring Kenya, killing three American Department of Defense personnel and destroying several U.S. aircraft and vehicles. The U.S. later sent in additional troops to increase security at the base and adjacent Manda Bay airfield.

    It was the first attack by al-Shabab against U.S. forces in Kenya, a country long targeted by the extremist group for sending troops to Somalia to fight it…”

    “Kosovo police on Wednesday said they detained an ethnic Albanian Muslim woman for allegedly inciting terrorism on social media after she deplored the U.S. killing of a top Iranian general.

    Ikballe Berisha Huduti will be detained for 48 hours following a request from prosecutors, police said in a statement. She was arrested Tuesday, it said, adding some electronic devices and other relevant evidence was later taken from her home. It wasn’t immediately clear if she had a lawyer.

    In a comment posted on her Facebook page a day after Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani was killed, Berisha Huduti lamented his death, calling for “only a little patience for the oppressed Muslim people wherever you are.”

    The Islamic Community of Kosovo denounced her comments saying they “have nothing in common” with their stance and “the traditional interpretation and lessons of the Islamic religion prayed among us in centuries.”

    Kosovo leaders had expressed immediate support for the U.S. actions against Iran.

    Kosovo, a mostly Muslim country, is very supportive and loyal to Washinton, especially after the 1998-1999 war with Serbia when Washington led NATO airstrikes that drove away Serbian strongman Slobodan Milosevic’s army.

    Kosovo declared independence from Serbia in 2008, which hasn’t been recognized by Belgrade.”

    Is the Islamist terror for the German television channel ZDF only a “clash of civilizations”? The public broadcaster is criticized for its bizarre headline: In an article on the anniversary of the terror attack on the French satirical magazine “Charlie Hebdo” (January 7, 2015, 12 dead), ZDF lists violent reactions of Islamists to caricatures, writings and films critical of Islam.For example, the article mentions the film “Submission” by Dutch director Theo van Gogh († 47), who was brutally murdered by an Islamist in 2004. Or the cartoons of the Dane Kurt Westergaard (84 years old), who only narrowly escaped an Islamist assassination attempt in 2010. The article also mentions the attacks in concert halls in Paris in 2015 (130 dead) and in Manchester in 2017 (23 dead), which were carried out by the ISIS terrorist militia out of hatred of the Western world. The headline of the article caused outrage: “Almost 30 years of dispute in retrospect”. In a tweet, ZDF also praised the article with the words: “This was the dispute between the Islamic and Christian worlds” (Screenshot above).Cartoons on one side, terrorist attacks on the other. Is this really a “quarrel” for ZDF? Historian Michael Wolffsohn (72 years old) has strongly criticized it. “This is not a dispute between the Islamic and Christian world. This was and is a conflict between intolerance and tolerance, contempt for humanity and human dignity, open and totalitarian society,” Wolffsohn told the tabloid BILD.The historian continues: “In that case, ZDF, like many others and so often in this country, deliberately uses the typical head-in-the-sand language.       Iran is refusing to hand over the black box of the doomed Ukrainian airliner to Boeing amid an investigation into what caused the crash that killed all 176 people aboard the flight out of Tehran early Wednesday, according to a report.

      Ali Abedzadeh, the head of Tehran’s civil aviation organization, told Mehr news agency in Tehran that Iran has not made a decision on which country or international authority it would send the black box to for its data to be analyzed, Reuters reported.

      Boeing is an American aerospace company headquartered out of Chicago. It is the world’s largest manufacturer of commercial jet transports. Boeing also designs, manufactures and sells military aircraft, helicopters, space vehicles, missiles and communication equipment worldwide.

      The crash of the Ukraine International Airlines flight came hours after Iran fired as many as 15 ballistic missiles on Iraqi bases housing U.S. soldiers in a major retaliation by the rogue regime after the U.S. airstrike that killed Iranian Quds Force Gen. Qassem Soleimani last week.

      • In my never-humble-opinion, the Ukrainian aircraft was hit by an Iranian missile – BY MISTAKE.

        The regime needed to retaliate to save face. But, they also were careful not to kill any people, because they fear the level of retaliation this would bring on them.

        And then an airplane got in the way of one of the missiles…

        Horrible mistake.

        The only good thing about it is that there were no American citizens aboard, but…

    Comedian George Lopez’s joke about collecting a rumored bounty on Donald Trump’s head has reportedly got the attention of the United States Secret Service.

    According to TMZ, the Secret Service is aware of the 58-year-old comedian’s online comment and is currently working to determine if there is any legitimate threat behind it.

    Representatives for the Secret Service were not immediately available for comment.

      No doubt “funnyman” George Lopez was seeking a reaction to his latest howler, and he’s gotten one. In case you missed it, over the weekend he quipped in response to Iran’s announcement on an $80 million bounty on Donald Trump that he’d do it for half.” And now, he’s on the Secret Service’s radar. TMZ reports:

      Law enforcement sources tell TMZ … the U.S. Secret Service is aware of George’s remark, and we’re told they’re working to see if his words carry any legitimacy as a threat.

      We’re being told part of the process in making this determination will include an interview with GL in some fashion, preferably a face-to-face. One source tells us George can probably expect a knock on his door soon, and he’ll be finding agents on the other side.

      But, wait: There’s more. According to 12 News, a Texas ABC virtual affiliate, people in Southeast Texans are planning to boycott Lopez’s show in Beaumont this coming Friday. City councilman Mike Getz believes “the community needs to send a message.”

      • Ir qualifies as giving aid and comfort to the enemy during time of conflict, this law was written and voted into law to get around the various Constitutional requirements. While it is unlikely she could be given a death sentence giving targets to the enemy to destroy and kill the people who are there is worth at least 20 years and probably life.     Within the last three hours, Iran has launched “more than a dozen” missiles from Iranian territory at bases in Iraq where U.S. forces are or have been present.

    This is according to a Pentagon update clarifying previous news and social media reporting. The initial Pentagon statement gave two bases as targets.

  22. Iran: Missile strikes a “slap in the face” for the US says Khamenei

    Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said the missile strikes carried out by Iran against American forces stationed in Iraq were a “slap in the face” for the US following their killing of Quds Force General Qassem Soleimani last week. He made the comments during an address in Qoms on Wednesday.

    However, he warned, “such military actions in this form are not sufficient for that issue [Soleimani].”

    Khamenei in his comments also called for an end to the US military presence in the Middle East. “What is important is that America’s corrupt presence must come to an end in this region,” he stated.

    Iran targeted two bases in Iraq that house US troops in retaliation for the killing of Soleimani in a US drone strike on Friday. Following the Iranian attack US President Donald Trump tweeted “assessment of casualties & damages taking place now. So far, so good!”

    “The socialist Prime Minister of Spain narrowly won a vote of confidence in parliament, allowing him to form a coalition government with Pablo Iglesias, a hard-leftist and former Iranian state television host who praised communist dictator Mao Zedong.

    A vote held in the parliament of Spain on Tuesday saw MPs narrowly back socialist Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez by a margin of 167 to 165, meaning that Sánchez was able to form a coalition government with Pablo Iglesias, the leftist leader of Podemos.

    Out of the 350-seat parliament, Sánchez’s Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party (PSOE) currently has 120 MPs and the Podemos have 35 seats, meaning that the government will govern from a minority position. Spain will now be governed by a coalition government for the first time since democracy was restored following the collapse of the Franco dictatorship in 1978.

    Within the coalition, Pablo Iglesias will serve as deputy prime minister, with a remit of combatting allegedly man-made climate change and reducing poverty under Spain’s 2030 agenda, according to El Pais.

    A former lecturer at the Complutense University of Madrid, Iglesias became politically active in the 1990s, when he joined Spain’s Communist Youth League, later hosting a television show on an Iranian state-owned network and founding the Hugo Chavez-backed Podemos party.

    Following the financial struggles of his own media company, Left Hand Media, Iglesias was picked by Iranian owned and funded Spanish language network HispanTV, on which he began hosting Fort Apache, a television programme that provided a platform for his leftist ideology.

    In a 2012 episode of Fort Apache, Iglesias defended working for the theocratic regime in Tehran, saying: “Who has been one of the fundamental allies of Hugo Chavez? Iran, which has contracted me on television, too – a state that murders communists, where women have to wear burqas, but politics is like this. Some people have to work for Coca-Cola or Walmart.”

    On the Iranian backed-programme, Iglesias praised Chinese dictator Mao Zedong as “astute”, declining to mention the 60 million deaths that occurred under Mao’s brutal reign. In another episode, he also lionized the Colombian terrorist group FARC, despite the guerillas being responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths.

    Following the vote that ensured his new position, Iglesias broke down into tears, delivering a bouquet of flowers to ailing Catalan MP, Aina Vidal, as supporters chanted “Yes you can” while raising their left fists. In Spanish ‘Podemos’ means “we can”, a reference to the “Sí se puede” chant of communist leader Cesar Chavez, that was later used in its English version “Yes we can” by President Barack Obama during his election campaign.

    The coalition government plans to start by raising taxes on people earning more than 130,000 euros per year, according to the BBC.

    Santiago Abascal, the leader of the Spanish populist party Vox, took the opportunity of Tuesday’s confidence vote to denounce the coalition government, saying that the formation was an “illegitimate” union with the “communist” Podemos. He went on to criticise the government for failing to tackle the violence and rape associated with mass migration to Spain.”

    “Thousands of people protested in Serbia’s capital Wednesday against the alleged suppression of religious and other rights of Serb minorities in neighboring countries, answering a call to action by the Serbian Orthodox Church.

    Orthodox priests led a procession through downtown Belgrade to the landmark St. Sava Temple, one of the world’s largest Orthodox churches, to pray about the “suffering” of Serbs living in Montenegro, Kosovo, Bosnia, Croatia and elsewhere in the Balkans.

    The demonstration featured religious iconography, including Serbian church flags and paintings. “It’s Time For God’s Justice,” one banner read.

    The focus of the protest was a religion rights law adopted last month by the Parliament of Montenegro. Serbian nationalists claim the law, which took effect Wednesday, will lead to the impounding of Serbian church property in Montenegro. Montenegrin officials have repeatedly denied the claim.

    Serbian nationalists used similar allegations of minority Serbs being mistreated in neighboring countries to fuel a bloody breakup of the former Yugoslavia during a civil war in the 1990’s.

    Montenegro’s national security council said Wednesday that the country “remains secure despite the subversive activities from within and from the immediate neighborhood,” apparently referring to Serbia.

    The Montenegrin law says all religious communities need to produce evidence of ownership of their churches from before 1918, when Montenegro joined a Serb-led Balkan kingdom and lost its independence and when Montenegro’s Orthodox Church was abolished.

    Montenegro split again from Serbia in 2006 but nearly 30% of its 620,000 citizens declare themselves to be Serbs and want closer ties with Belgrade. Montenegro defied another historic Slavic and Orthodox Christian ally, Russia, when it joined NATO in 2017.

    Led by Orthodox priests and fueled by Serbia’s state propaganda, thousands of Serbs in Montenegro have been staging daily protests in the small Balkan state, demanding that the law be annulled.

    Some 800 known public figures from the region, including writers, law experts, actors, opposition politicians and historians, have signed a petition against Serbian meddling in Montenegro’s internal affairs.

    The petition states that Belgrade and the Serbian Orthodox Church have been working to “forcefully destabilize” Montenegro’s pro-Western government and jeopardize its independence.

    “With the political, church and media campaign of disinformation from Belgrade … peace has been seriously threatened not only in Montenegro, but throughout the region,” the document reads.

    Montenegro has accused Russia and a group of Serb nationalists of being behind a 2016 coup attempt that was aimed at preventing the nation’s pending NATO membership. Moscow has denied involvement.

    Montenegro also wants to join the European Union.”

    He said that if the fact that Qasem Soleimani had been responsible for the death of Americans was a valid reason for the U.S. to kill him, then countries like Iran, Iraq, Yemen, and Afghanistan have the legitimate “right” to kill as many as one million Americans because of all the deaths that the U.S. has caused in these countries.

    He said that Iran will respond militarily to Soleimani’s killing, that any Iranian response will constitute a legitimate form of self-defense, and that the response will be a retaliation on par with the killing of Soleimani.

    General Dehghan threatened that if war is forced upon Iran, it will respond in a way that will make the U.S. regret its actions.

    In addition, General Dehghan said that while Iran will not target American civilians, it will consider any American military base, naval vessel, or gathering center to be a legitimate target.

    He compared President Trump to a rabid dog and said that if Iran doesn’t respond to Soleimani’s killing in a way that makes Trump regret what he did and feel ashamed, then Trump will only be encouraged to commit more crimes against Iran.

    An Uber driver cleared of launching a Samurai sword attack on police outside Buckingham Palace went on to plan another attack on tourists in London, a court heard today.

    Mohiussunnath Chowdhury, of Luton, Bedfordshire, allegedly boasted to undercover police how he had deceived a jury into finding him not guilty of the attack.

    The 28-year-old was ‘motivated by dreams of martyrdom for the cause of Islam, and inspired by preachers of hate’, a jury at Woolwich Crown Court was told.

    Democrats and their progressive allies, including in the establishment media, are continuing their “Great Betrayal” of the United States. They tried to sabotage efforts by President George W. Bush’s administration to support the U.S. forces fighting in Iraq against Saddam Hussein and Islamic terrorists. Now, we are witnessing Democrats, both in Congress and vying to run against President Trump in this year’s presidential election, treacherously helping the Iranian regime advance its 40-year war against Americans. The leftist media is right by their side.

    House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is readying her Democrat-controlled House of Representatives to vote this week on legislation to tie President Trump’s hands in dealing with the blood-thirsty Iranian regime. Speaker Pelosi is peeved that she and her Democrat congressional colleagues were not consulted first before President Trump ordered the killing of Iranian terrorist mastermind Qasem Soleimani late last week. Too bad. She should run for president if she wants to become the commander-in-chief. In any case, she is a hypocrite.

    On January 2, 2020 the New York Times reported, U.S. Strike in Iraq Kills Qassim Suleimani, Commander of Iranian Forces. The Iranian response was reported on January 3, 2020 by Radio Free Europe / Liberty Radio: Khamenei, Other Iran Officials Vow ‘Severe Retaliation’ For Soleimani Killing.

    The United States has been in the crosshairs of foreign terrorists for decades- and not just those affiliated with Iran. Almost exclusively, these terror organizations have been affiliated with radical Islam. Wikipedia posted a list of terror attacks in NYC up to and including 2017.

    On September 11, 2001 the United States suffered the most devastating terror attacks in history. By far, the greatest destruction and casualties occurred in NYC at the World Trade Center.

    At CNN’s Climate Town Hall, which set out to save the world by having ten of the 2020 Democrat presidential candidates, their staffers, drug dealers, and mistresses fly out to appear in the fake news network’s facilities, Senator Bernie Sanders proposed saving the planet by killing the children.

    A concerned questioner at a forum being held in a green mega complex built on the site of a former slaughterhouse, appropriately enough, urged Sanders to discuss the importance of “educating everyone on the need to curb population growth.”

    “Would you be courageous enough to discuss this issue and make it a key feature of a plan to address climate catastrophe?” the anti-kids schoolmarm demanded

    Once upon a time, environmental activists claimed that they wanted to save the planet for the children. Now they want to save the planet from the children.

    “The answer’s yes,” said the socialist politician who has a poor relationship with his only son. Then he suggested that this brand of environmental eugenics really ought to be applied to “poor countries around the world.”

    So Vice President Mike Pence called Pelosi, the third-ranking member of government, on Tuesday night to inform her that Iran was launching missiles on U.S. forces in Iraq.

    “Tell him I’ll call him back,” Pelosi said, according to a Politico reporter.

    “In meeting tonight Speaker Pelosi was handed a note telling her VP Pence was on the phone,” Heather Caygle wrote on Twitter. “‘Tell him I’ll call him back,’ she said according to sources in room, noting she had to go open the House for new session.
