1. CNN settles $275M lawsuit with Covington Catholic student Nick Sandmann: report

CNN reportedly agreed Tuesday to settle a $275 million lawsuit filed by Covington Catholic student Nicholas Sandmann over the network’s coverage of his viral encounter with an elderly Native American activist.

 

The details of the settlement were not disclosed during proceedings at the federal courthouse in Covington, Kentucky, according to Fox19 in Cincinnati.

 

The teen’s family filed lawsuits against CNN, NBCUniversal and the Washington Post over reporting on the January 2019 incident in which Nicholas was filmed standing face-to-face with Omaha elder Nathan Phillips as he played a drum on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.

The US is seeing indications that Iran has stepped up its readiness to launch short- and medium-range ballistic missiles following the killing of Gen. Qassem Soleimani, the head of Iran’s elite Quds Force, in an American airstrike, CNN reported Saturday.

 

The network quoted an unnamed US official with direct knowledge on the issue, as Washington braces for Iran’s response to Friday’s strike. Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei has said Tehran will react with “harsh revenge” to the hit on the popular general, who was his personal friend.

Virginia Beach adopted Second Amendment sanctuary status January 6, 2020, making it the 118th local government in the state to do so.

 

The Virginia Citizens Defense League’s Phil Van Cleave announced the news via Twitter:
On December 20, 2019, Breitbart News reported over 100 local governments in Virginia had declared themselves Second Amendment sanctuaries. That figure included 86 of Virginia’s 95 counties and numerous cities and municipalities.

 

The Second Amendment sanctuary movement in Virginia began just after November 5, 2019, the date on which Democrats won control of the state’s legislature. Gov. Ralph Northam (D) was quick to suggest he would use the Democrat majority to carry out a war on guns.

          Face saving ‘missile attacks’

          • The Iranians will probably wait while they are reorganizing and then launch a series of proxy probing attacks to see how far they can go before they are punished with a massive disproportionate response.

            It is going to take time for them to understand how the game has changed, we are hitting the paymasters not the mercenaries. We are also going for decapitation strikes, a fact that the Ayatollahs need to understand. This time we struck in Iraq and took out one of their top generals. The next time could be in Iran and this would take out a large number of their Religious, Political and Military leaders. If we leave a large enough hold in their chain of command there will be internal turmoil that is orders of magnitude greater then the current unrest.

  6. Iran has shown that they understand that they poked the bear one too many times and paid the price, they also showed that they don’t want to race the US military in a stand up fight. Once again it has been proven that standing up to the small aggressor nation is the best way to avoid a war. If we had followed the advice of the Dems and their idiot leftist supporters we would have emboldened Iran to the point where we had no choice but to invade. By taking out one of the leading Iranian Hawks (a very competent hawk) we have bought time for the sanctions to do more damage to the Iranian economy, with luck their nation will collapse because of the sanctions.

    Iran showed good sense and backed off now we will have to wait and see if the power hungry Dems in Virginia have the brains to back off in the face of practically all of the county, city and town governments telling the State Government they weren’t going to let their Constitutional Rights be taken from them. Hopefully enough of the Dems will have some working brain cells and realize they are about to start a fight that they can’t win. If these Dems with working brain cells exist they will be among the members of the State Legislature and not the Soros and Bloomburg owned people who were elected to state wide offices. These are died in the wool wannabe dictators who are carrying out their orders of their masters and testing to see how gun registration and confiscation will go over in strong pro gun states.

    The Dems are discovering that the test case is alarming the rest of the pro gun, pro freedom people in the nation and more and more towns, cities counties and in some cases states are declaring themselves to be 2A Sanctuary spaces. The next move in this chess match is up to the Dems, we will have to wait and see if they are as smart as the Iranians have shown themselves to be. Both places are flash points for wars that could and once started probably will spread far beyond their point of origin. The world is headed into a major war, all of the historical signs say this, but with the Iranians showing good sense we have stopped the mad rush towards the war and are once more dancing the Hesitation Waltz while on the path to war.
