British resident held ‘hostage’ by Iranian regime and sentenced to death over ‘spying’ (express, Jan 6, 2019)
https://www.express.co.uk/news/world/1224407/Iran-news-Nazanin-Zaghari-Ratcliffe-Kylie-Moore-Gilbert-Iranian-prisoners-world-war-3
“A BRITISH resident has claimed the Iranian regime held her hostage, subjecting her to “psychological torture” including a mock execution, in an effort to secure concessions from the UK Government.
Ana Diamond, a dual Iranian-Finnish national who grew up in Britain, was detained in 2014 aged 16 after entering Iran from the UK. Two years later she was sentenced to death on charges of “espionage” and “blasphemy” after being accused of working for MI6, the CIA and Mossad. The Iranian regime used pictures of Ms Diamond with Boris Johnson and Theresa May at Conservative Party events as ‘proof’ she was a spy.
However according to Ms Diamond she was really being held as a hostage, as part of an orchestrated campaign by Tehran to seize dual nationals.
She alleged British-Iranian mother Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe and British-Australian woman Kylie Moore-Gilbert, both of whom are currently on hunger strike in an Iranian prison, were seized for the same reason along with numerous other westerners.
Speaking to Express.co.uk Ms Diamond explained how Iranian interrogators used Facebook pictures taken at young Conservative events as evidence after she was detained in 2016.
She said: “They said ‘oh she’s a political aide to David Cameron, she’s a friend of Boris Johnson so she’s a spy for MI6.
“For me it was just absurd because those photos were out on my Facebook so they didn’t actually have to do much research – I was 16 at the time.”
In January 2016 Ms Diamond was arrested and taken to Evin prison for interrogation for seven and a half months, during which she received a death sentence.
She explained: “I was in solitary confinement for about three months and then I was transferred to public ward and then I was transferred back to solitary confinement.
“They really wanted to attach me to the Iran nuclear negotiations that were going on because on multiple occasions during the interrogations they asked me if I know [EU diplomatic chief] Catherine Ashton and how many talks I’d had with her and Theresa May.
“When I received my formal accusations they had written on it I was accused of espionage for MI6, CIA, Mossad and others.”
The Iran nuclear negotiations concluded with a deal in 2016, which President Trump withdrew the US from in 2018.
Ms Diamond believes she was held in solitary confinement to break her down psychologically.
She said: “Almost inevitably you develop some level of Stockholm syndrome because you have no not there to assist you so when they give you food you think they’re your friends.
“Once they left me without anyone coming to visit me for 20 days, to take me down to the interrogation room, and for those 20 days I had suicidal thoughts but I didn’t know how to commit suicide because there was nothing to commit suicide with.
“When they did come and take me down to interrogation I felt this overwhelming and really disgusting love for them.
“Solidarity confinement is very effective in making your mind malleable which is why it’s so concerning for Kylie Moore-Gilbert who has been in solitary for nearly two years. I really feel for her because I barely survived when I was there 5-6 months, it’s just so soul destroying.”
Whilst she didn’t suffer physical torture Ms Diamond was subject to a mock execution.
She explained: “We’re dealing with a region which killed 1,500 people in a span of three days in November 2019.
“With dual nationals they have been quite reserved in physical torture and more pressure is put on psychological torture.
“My nails weren’t ripped out, I wasn’t waterboarded but I was put through a mock execution which is just as bad.
“Honestly going through it I wished I was dead already because its just so psychologically horrible and horrendous.
“I’ve been receiving for the past four months psychological help from a charity called freedom from torture, my heart arrhythmia is caused by the psychological damage I got when I was in Iran.””
Ricky Gervais tells some truths (anyone who can find the video please post it…FWIW I had a feeling that this was coming from him):
“Golden Globes host Ricky Gervais kicked off Sunday’s awards ceremony in Beverly Hills, California with a series of scathing, inflammatory remarks about the hypocrisy in Hollywood, among other gripes.
Gervais, who’s hosted the Globes several times before, covered a wide range of topics in his opening monologue, but managed to insult most of Hollywood by the time he was done.
“I came here in a limo tonight, and the license plate was made by Felicity Huffman,” Gervais began. When the audience groaned in response, he added, “I dont care, it’s her daughter I feel sorry for.”
In addition to his comments about Huffman, Gervais also made a quip about the streaming wars, telling audience members, “Apple, Amazon, Disney. If ISIS started a streaming service, you’d be calling your agents.”
The comedian also took issue with the amount of hypocrisy in the film and TV industry, calling out actors who work with large organizations that aren’t socially responsible, but still feel the need to portray themselves as social justice warriors.
“If you win an award tonight, don’t use it as a platform to make a political speech. You’re in no position to lecture the public about anything. You know nothing about the real world. Most of you spent less time in school than Greta Thunberg,” Gervais said, adding “So if you win, come up, accept your little award, thank your agent, and your god, and f— off.”
During his opening remarks, he also poked fun at Leonardo DiCaprio’s taste in women, and the excessive acceptance speeches of many nominees. But perhaps Gervais’ biggest zinger of the night was when he made a joke about Jeffrey Epstein and his connection to Hollywood.
“You could binge watch the entire first season of ‘Afterlife’ instead of watching this show,” Gervais began, poking fun at the runtime of the Golden Globes. “That’s a show about a man who wants to kill himself because his wife dies of cancer, and it’s still more fun than this.”
“Spoiler alert, season two is on the way, so in the end he obviously didn’t kill himself. Just like Jeffrey Epstein,” he added. When the audience groaned in response, Gervais shot back, “Shut up, I know he was your friend.”

WATCH: German police shoot suspected terrorist in Gelsenkirchen
The Gelsenkirchen police shot a suspected Islamic terrorist. The 37-year-old Turk, who had most recently lived in Gelsenkirchen, attacked the police in Gelsenkirchen on Saturday evening armed with a stick and a knife. As eyewitnesses in the Bild newspaper reported, the perpetrator ignored police warning calls and shouted “Allahu Akbar”. However, the police described this as “rumors” that have not yet been confirmed. At the same time, “a link to Islamist terrorism cannot be ruled out”. The man had become violent. “A man ran past the patrol car and suddenly hit the car with a stick,” said police spokesman Christopher Grauwinkel. “The officials immediately asked him to stop. But the man continued his attack on the officers with his arm raised and his stick.” One of the police officers then drew his service weapon and shot the man. Attempts to revive the suspect failed.

‘Inshallah’ is Now Officially a German Word (sputniknews, Jan 6, 2019)
https://sputniknews.com/europe/202001061077958495-inshallah-is-now-officially-a-german-word/
“The word was recognised by Germany’s most authoritative dictionary, the Duden, which had previously added the Turkish expression “oha” as well.
The Arabic word ‘Inshallah’ is now considered a German word.
The expression has made it to the Duden, the most popular dictionary of German language.
The new entry is spelled as “inschallah” in the dictionary. It currently appears in its digital version, and there has been no word on whether it will be published in print as well.
‘Inshallah’, as it’s spelled in English, means ‘Allah willing’ or ‘if Allah wills’ and is used by Muslims when speaking of a future event.
The Duden is the most authoritative and popular dictionary of German language; it has long been the prescriptive handbook for German grammar and spelling – Germany’s Merriam-Webster of sorts. It’s been issued since 1880 and is now in its 27th edition.
Although some social media users in Germany said this signified the natural development of their language, others contended it actually represented the increasing Islamisation of Germany.
“Now you can all use it in schools/companies and if somebody doesn’t know it, he should learn it as soon as possible,” one commenter wrote sarcastically. “We live in Germany and want to speak German!”
Another said: “It is getting serious with the Islamisation.”
A third user wrote that the word is simply “not German”.
Another entry originating in the Muslim world is “oha”, an exclamation commonly used by Turks to express surprise, similar to the English “whoa”. Both “inshallah” and “oha” can be found in the Merriam-Webster Dictionary as well.
At nearly 5 million, Germany’s Muslim population is the second-largest in Europe, trailing behind France, and makes up about 6 percent of the country’s population. Three in five German Muslims have Turkish descent.”
New Chief of Iran’s Quds Force Vows to Remove US From Middle East to Avenge Soleimani Hit (sputniknews, Jan 6, 2019)
https://sputniknews.com/middleeast/202001061077957550-new-chief-of-irans-quds-force-vows-to-remove-us-from-middle-east-to-avenge-soleimani-hit/
“Iraqi lawmakers have already taken legislative steps to oust American troops from the country; and it’s not clear what sort of action the new Quds commander was referring to.
The new head of Iran’s elite Quds force called for the removal of the United States from the region in response to the killing of his predecessor, Qassem Soleimani.
“We promise to continue martyr Soleimani’s path with the same force,” Esmail Qaani said on Monday in an interview on local radio, “and the only compensation for us would be to remove America from the region.”
Gen. Qassem Soleimani was killed in a US drone strike at the Baghdad airport, where he was met by allied militants. Soleimani has been at the helm of the Quds Force, the foreign operations arm of the powerful Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, since 1997.
His comments come after the Iraqi parliament voted to expel US troops from Iraqi soil, outraged by the US not agreeing in advance with Iraqi authorities the strike that killed Soleimani in Baghdad. President Trump has already vowed to impose sanctions on Iraq should its government go ahead with the plan and exchanged threats of retaliatory strikes with Iran.
The latter on Monday officially rolled back its remaining commitments under the 2015 nuclear deal but promised to continue to allow international inspectors. Tehran said that it could still reverse the decision if the US lifted its crippling economic sanctions.
Esmail Qaani, named as Soleimani’s successor on Friday, had served as his deputy commander for the last 22 years, so his policy is not expected to differ much from that of his late boss.”
Iraq Limits US-Led Coalition’s Ground, Air Movements After Soleimani Killing – Reports (sputniknews, Jan 6, 2019)
https://sputniknews.com/middleeast/202001061077957576-iraq-limits-international-coalitions-ground-air-movements-after-soleimani-killing—reports/
“Iraq’s parliament on Sunday voted in favour of removing US troops after a powerful Iranian military commander was killed in a US airstrike in Baghdad. President Trump has threatened Iraq with sanctions should the plan go forward.
The Iraqi authorities have begun the preapartions for removing US troops from the country, Abdul-Karim Khalaf, a security spokesman for Iraq’s prime minister, told reporters on Monday.
He said that the US-led international coalition will be allowed to consult, arm and train Iraqi military personnel and security forces, but the troops will be removed.
Khalaf added that the Iraqi government had limited the movements of foreign forces on the ground and in the air.
The process kick-started a day after Iraqi lawmakers adopted a motion requiring the government to end the presence of foreign troops from the country. There has been no word from the government on whether it ratified the resolution.
The US and allied Western countries intervened in Iraq at the request of the local government in 2014, following the rise of Daesh jihadists, just three years after ending the occupation that began in 2003. On the ground, that coalition is mostly represented by American troops, with approximately 5,200 US soldiers fighting the remnants of Daesh* in Iraq and in the neigbouring Syria.
Sunday’s resolution was passed under the formal pretext that the terrorists had been defeated, although the underlying reason appears to be the outrage with the recent US airstrike that killed powerful Iranian commander Qassem Soleimani on Friday in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad.
Abdul-Karim Khalaf called that strike, which hadn’t been agreed with Iraq in advance, a “stupidity [that] is impossible to keep silent about.”
The Iraqi foreign ministry on Sunday summoned the US ambassador to condemn the strike as a “blatant violation of Iraqi sovereignty.”
It comes at a time of increased confrontation between the United States and Iran, so one would expect Washington to be interested in keeping its troops near Iran’s borders as a deterrent. President Donald Trump has already threatened Iraq with harsh sanctions should the US troops be removed.
“We have a very extraordinarily expensive air base that’s there,” he told reporters. “It cost billions of dollars to build. We’re not leaving unless they pay us back for it.”
*Daesh is a terror group outlawed in Russia, the United States and many other countries.”

Was UK Murder on Christmas Eve Linked to Killing in Sweden and £7mln Danish Heist? (sputniknews, Jan 6, 2019)
https://sputniknews.com/europe/202001061077932952-was-uk-murder-on-christmas-eve-linked-to-killing-in-sweden-and-7mln-danish-heist/
“In August 2008 a gang of robbers broke into a cash depot in Copenhagen and stole 62 million kroner (£7 million). Only a fraction of the money was ever recovered and hmmmthe heist may be linked to a murder in London on this Christmas Eve.
Detectives in London investigating the murder on 24 December of 36-year-old Flamur Beqiri, have been liaising with police in Sweden and Denmark as they try to figure out who assassinated him and why.
Beqiri, known to friends as Alex, was returning to his £1.5 million home in Battersea, south London, around 9pm on Christmas Eve when he was gunned down in front of his wife, Debora Krasniqi, and his young son.
The gunman ran off and detectives believe it was a targeted assassination and was linked to Beqiri’s life in the criminal underworld.
Beqiri, who was of Albanian origin, was a close friend of Naief Adawi, 36, who was one of 14 men convicted of taking part in Denmark’s biggest heist, in 2008.
Huge Bank Raid in Brondby, Denmark
In 2008, the gang stole 62 million kroner (£7 million) from the Dansk Værdihåndtering cash depot in Brondby, a suburb of Copenhagen.
The gang, armed with AK-47 assault rifles, used a bulldozer to knock down the depot’s wall and set 11 refuse trucks on fire nearby in a bid to block police pursuers.
?Three million kroner was later discovered in the garden of a former girlfriend of one member of the gang, Tayeb Si M’rabet, in Odense, Denmark, but most of the money has never been recovered.
Adawi, who was jailed for eight years in 2010, was linked to the M-Falangen, a gang with links to the Sandzak region of Serbia and Montenegro.
In August last year a gunman ambushed Adawi, his wife Dr Karolin Hakim, and their young child when they stopped at a falafel kiosk in the Swedish city of Malmo.
Bank Robber Left Wife to Die
The assassin fired at Adawi, who handed his two-month-old baby to his wife and ran off. The gunman then turned to Dr Hakim and shot her in the head, killing her instantly. The child survived.
Beqiri and Adawi are believed to have been involved in the smuggling of cannabis and cocaine through Morocco and Spain.
?Adawi believed to have used his share of the Copenhagen heist takings to get into the drug trade and Beqiri set up several front companies, purporting to be record labels, in Malmo and London as cover for his real business.
Beqiri’s sister Misse starred in a UK reality TV show – The Real Housewives of Cheshire and was married to Manchester United goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard, who now plays for Helsingborgs in Sweden.
The Beqiri family issued a statement last week in which they said: “Our family are in a state of shock and are grieving. To have so much sadness at this time of the year is heartbreaking. We would kindly ask that you respect our privacy and let us grieve in peace.”
Links to Sweden and Albania
“I am aware that there is intense speculation around this tragic incident, including the victim’s background and past,” Detective Inspector Jamie Stevenson says. “Flamur, who is of Swedish nationality and Albanian heritage, had been living in London for four or five years…work is ongoing to determine what the possible motive could be, and while we retain an open mind, we are considering that this is a targeted attack.”
Swedish crime reporter Joakim Palmkvist said it was unlikely Beqiri’s murder was directly linked to the Copenhagen heist.
“Too much time has passed. The victims were not central figures in the heist. Other motives prevail, probably related to drugs,” he says.
The Mail on Sunday newspaper in London claimed Beqiri was associated with a gang called Los Suecos (The Swedes), who are said to have been linked to ten murders in Sweden and Spain. Their leader Amir Mekky, 22, was shot in the leg outside the Galaxy cafe in central Malmo last year.”

Pelosi moves to limit Trump’s actions in Iran with War Powers Resolution vote
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced overnight that she plans on taking measures to potentially curb President Trump’s ability to conduct military operations against Iran.
Pelosi and other Democrats have been critical of Trump’s decision to conduct an airstrike in Iraq that killed Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani, head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ elite Quds Force, claiming he did not properly notify Congress in advance and warning about the risk of escalation in the region. Trump has also threatened additional action if Iran retaliates for Soleimani’s death.

Maduro Assassinates What’s Left of the Venezuela Republic by Taking Over the National Assembly
Venezuela’s President Nicolás Maduro pulled off a stunt worthy of Hitler’s dealings with the Reichstag when he engineered a legislative coup that effectively ended the independence of the legislature. Given Maduro’s takeover of every other government institution, the death of the legislature made him a de facto dictator.
The now-former speaker, Juan Guaidó, challenged Maduro’s election victory in May of 2018, claiming fraud and vote-buying. The U.S. and 60 other countries recognized him as the lawful president. But ever since then, Maduro has been whittling away at the independence of national institutions by installing his cronies in office or outright bribery.
Today, he finished the job.

EU panic: Brussels desperately tries to fill ‘Brexit gap’ with HUGE new tax (express, Jan 6, 2019)
https://www.express.co.uk/news/world/1224552/brexit-latest-news-brussels-brexit-plastic-tax-european-commission
“BRUSSELS is preparing a new push to create an European Union-wide plastic tax to fill the so-called “Brexit gap”.
The EU will aim to use profits from carbon trading to break an impasse over how to fund the bloc’s next long-term budget. Officials are preparing for heated negotiations over the next seven-year budget, running from 2021. They told the Financial Times members were ready to agree a plastics recycling tax.
A senior EU official said: “We have a Brexit gap. Member states know this and will eventually have to accept new revenue streams.”
As part of the initial budget proposal in 2018, the European Commission proposed a tax on non-recycled plastics.
The proceeds from this would go directly into the common budget rather than to the government’s that collect them.
The surcharge is estimated to raise €42billion (£35.7billion) over the course of the budget.
Member states have historically opposed attempts to divert revenue from their funds to Brussels.
However, the debate over so-called “own resources” has changed as budget negotiations were damaged from the €15billion (£12.7billion) gap left by the UK’s departure.
As well as the plastics levy, Brussels will attempt to convince governments of a more controversial plan to divert profits from the EU cap-and-trade carbon emissions trading system (ETS) to the common budget.
ETS profits are currently collected by EU member states.
Ten of the poorest members receive a portion of the ETS profits to help fund low-carbon investments.
An EU official claimed the commission would suggest using a significant share of all carbon trading profits for the budget when is pushes the revamp of the ETS.
Brussels wants the ETS to become a more profitable source of new money.
It will try to extend the system to include the maritime sector and reduce the number of free allowances given to airlines in a bid to drive up the carbon price under its European green deal.
A senior official warned negotiations over how to reform the ETS and what to do with the profits would be far more disputed that a plastics levy.
They said: “It is always easier to create new sources of revenues rather than take away existing money as it happens with the ETS.”
Another official claimed poorer nations that receive a portion of ETS funds are likely to raise the most objections.
The idea would need a unanimous support in Brussels for it to be accepted.
Countries that are sceptical of giving Brussels autonomous tax-raising powers are more likely to resist any moves to introduce any EU own resources.
Ireland’s EU affairs Minister, Helen McEntree, claimed more work needed to be done on how to set up a plastics waste tax.
She told the Financial Times last year: “To say it could somehow be implemented or we could have a credible proposal between now and next year is just not realistic for us.”
One diplomat said member states would accept the idea of the plastics tax only at the bitter end of negotiations in an attempt to get the European Parliament on board.
They said: “It will be the rabbit out of the hat we pull out to get the parliament to agree.””
U.S. may target more Iranian Ieaders, Pompeo threatens
Trump warns of potential ‘disproportionate’ response if Iran retaliates against U.S. targets
WASHINGTON — The U.S. military may strike more Iranian leaders if the Islamic Republic retaliates for the Trump administration’s killing of Tehran’s most powerful general last week by attacking Americans or American interests, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Sunday.
As Pompeo conducted a round of TV interviews to explain President Donald Trump’s decision to target Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani, the repercussions from that attack played out: The Iraqi Parliament called on the 5,200 U.S. forces in the country to leave; the U.S. military coalition in Baghdad suspended training of Iraqi forces to concentrate on defending coalition troops; and in Beirut, the Lebanese Hezbollah chief said U.S. forces throughout the Mideast are fair targets for retaliation.

Iranian lawmaker suggests attacking White House, $80 million bounty placed on President Trump’s head
One Iranian lawmaker suggested Sunday that Iran attack the White House in response to the death of Qassem Soleimani, the Islamic country’s terror chief.
“We can attack the White House itself, we can respond to them on the American soil. We have the power, and God willing we will respond in an appropriate time,” MP Abolfazl Abutorabi said, according to Iranian news agency ILNA, the Daily Mail reported.
Abutorabi’s comments came during an open session of parliament on Sunday during which Iranian lawmakers gathered to chant “death to America.”

Police swamped with hate crime while serious crime solving hits rock-bottom (express, Jan 6, 2019)
https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1224579/crime-news-police-latest-statistics-england-wales-violent-knife-crime
“POLICE forces in England and Wales are having to deal with unprecedented levels of hate crime incidents as the number of overall crimes being solved hits record lows, official figures have revealed.
More than 87,000 ‘non-crime hate incidents’ have been recorded over the past five years by 27 forces across England and Wales. Hate incidents are defined by the force as “any non-crime incident which is perceived, by the victim or any other person, to be motivated by a hostility or prejudice”. Five strands are monitored nationally: race or ethnicity; religion or beliefs; sexual orientation; disability; and transgender identity.
The highest number of incidents were recorded in London by the Metropolitan Police.
The force recorded 9,473 incidents in the past five years.
Merseyside Police came second with 8,644 and Surrey Police third with 8,256.
With police resources being stretched across the country, figures obtained by the Freedom of Information Act found the number of crimes being solved has halved since 2014 – its lowest on record.
The data obtained by the Daily Telegraph, found the number of offences where an individual was charged or summonsed, fell from 15.5 percent to just 7.8 percent between 2014-2019.
Violent crime in England and Wales also increased in the past 12 months.
The number offences involving a knife or sharp instrument increased from 41,000 to over 44,000 from June 2018 to 2019, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
The data represents a rise of seven percent on the previous year.
The number of robberies also rose by 11 percent and fraud offences up by 15 percent.
In November, Cressida Dick, Commissioner of the Met Police said: “We should be focussing on the things that the public tell me they care about the most.
“My officers are very busy, very stretched. We have young people in London subject to gang violence, getting involved in drug dealings, stabbings, lots of priorities.”
The Government announced an extra 20,000 police officers would be recruited in the next three years.
An extra £35 million will be given to police and crime commissioners to tackle violent crime.
Home Secretary Priti Patel said the money would allow violence reduction units in the 18 areas worst affected by serious violence to continue their work.
The Metropolitan Police area will receive the most money – £7 million – while Greater Manchester, Merseyside, West Midlands and West Yorkshire will each get £3.3 million.
South Yorkshire, Northumbria, Thames Valley, Lancashire, Essex, Avon and Somerset and Kent will each get more than £1.1 million.”
Nancy Pelosi to Introduce Resolution Implying Pre-emptive Surrender to Iran (breitbart, Jan 6, 2019)
https://www.breitbart.com/national-security/2020/01/06/nancy-pelosi-surrender-resolution-in-house/
“Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) wrote a letter to her Democrat colleagues in the House on Sunday to reveal a new “War Powers Resolution” that amounts to a pre-emptive surrender to Iran in ongoing hostilities.
Pelosi’s letter begins with the declaration that President Donald Trump’s airstrike last week targeting Iranian General Qasem Suleimani, leader of the terrorist Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IGRC) Quds Force, responsible for the murders of hundreds of Americans and for recent attacks on the U.S. embassy in Baghdad, was “provocative and disproportionate,” terms suggesting the attack was illegal under international law and could constitute a war crime.
Harvard Law School professor emeritus (and Democrat) Alan Dershowitz argued in Monday’s Wall Street Journal that the strike was not only lawful, but an “easy call”: “The president has the constitutional authority to take military actions, short of declaring war, that he and his advisers deem necessary to protect American citizens. This authority is extremely broad, especially when the actions must, by their nature, be kept secret from the intended target.”
Nonetheless, Pelosi’s letter indicates that the House will declare the president’s action illegal under international law…”

“Footage has emerged of far-left Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn praising the Iranian regime at the Islamic Centre of England in London, which held a mass memorial for Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) commander Qasem Soleimani.
Speaking at an event titled “The All-Encompassing Revolution” — intended to “commemorate the auspicious anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran” in 2014, according to the Stand for Peace interfaith organisation — the 70-year-old socialist shared a platform with a number of controversial figures such as Lord Ahmed of Rotherham, who was later charged with historic child sex offences.
“When the director [of the Islamic Centre of England] spoke in opening this conference… he was describing the history and traditions of Islam, but he was also describing the inclusivity, the tolerance, and the acceptance of other faiths, other traditions, and other ethnic groupings within Iran,” Corbyn gushed — despite the Islamic Republic imposing the death penalty for a penalty for apostasy.
He went on to lambast the “history of grand imperial Britain”, “the regime of the Shah” and its “human rights abuses”, and size of the British embassy in Iran when he visited the country.
“I respect Iran’s history, I respect what brought about the revolution in 1979,” he concluded.
Corbyn, who has been paid thousands of pounds by Iranian state television during his time in Parliament, was elected Labour leader just a year after he gave the Islamic Centre speech.
The Islamic Centre of England held a mass memorial for Qasem Soleimani and Kataib Hezbollah founder Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis after he was killed by an American drone strike, attended by thousands of mourners and led by current director Seyed Hashem Moosavi.
Moosavi also posted a message of condolence for the Shia “martyrs” on the London-based centre’s website, in which he praised Soleimani as an “honourable Islamic Commander” and al-Muhandis as “the great mujahid [holy warrior] of Islam” and said they had been slain by “the most wicked members of human race”.
He signed off the message as “Representative of Ayatollah al- Uzma Sayyid Ali Khamenei (May Allah give him long life)” — Iran’s ruling theocrat.
Breitbart London asked the relevant authorities whether Moosavi’s remarks constitute glorification of terrorism, which is an offence under the Terrorism Act of 2006, but received no response as of the time of publication.”
Germany Charges Alleged ISIS Commander Who Entered Europe During 2015 Migrant Crisis Under Terror Laws (breitbart, Jan 6, 2019)

“German prosecutors have filed terror charges against a Syrian man accused of commanding a unit of Islamic State group fighters in his homeland.
Prosecutors in Frankfurt said Monday that the 33-year-old, whose name they didn’t release, was charged with membership in a foreign terrorist group and violating weapons laws.
They said that the suspect entered Germany in June 2015 and was initially granted refugee status, which was revoked in June last year. He was arrested in the central city of Kassel in November 2018 and has been in custody since then.
The man was a member of IS from 2013 to 2015 and allegedly commanded a unit of at least 20 men, prosecutors said in a statement. He also is alleged to have been the commander of one or two city districts in Raqqa for at least part of the time.
Prosecutors said the man is also accused of capturing two men, who were either Shiites or members of the Alawite minority, and holding them as hostages before handing them over to a high-ranking IS commander. It is not known what happened to the men.”

EU regrets Iran nuclear moves but hopes to keep deal alive (abcnews, Jan 6. 2019)
https://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/eu-regrets-iran-nuclear-moves-hopes-deal-alive-68095647
“The European Union expressed regret on Monday over Iran’s announcement that it will no longer be bound by all its nuclear obligations, but remains determined to keep alive an international deal preventing the Islamic Republic from developing atomic weapons.
The 2015 nuclear agreement has been on life support since President Donald Trump unilaterally abandoned it last year, triggering sanctions that have hurt Iran’s moribund economy. Since then, Tehran has gradually rolled back its commitment to the deal.
After its top general was assassinated in a U.S. drone attack, Iran announced over the weekend that it would no longer respect limits set on how many centrifuges it can use to enrich uranium. Foreign Minister Javad Zarif said the move was a “remedial step” taken within the framework of the nuclear deal and he said it could be reversed.
EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell expressed “deep regret” at the news. He tweeted that full implementation of the nuclear deal by all parties “is now more important than ever, for regional stability and global security.”
The EU supervises the deal under which Tehran limits its nuclear ambitions in exchange for economic incentives, but it relies on the U.N.’s nuclear watchdog to monitor whether Iran is complying, as it has continued to do so far despite its belligerent rhetoric.
“We have to rely on, and see, what the International Atomic Energy Agency says about the deeds on the ground,” Borrell’s spokesman, Peter Stano, told reporters.
Iran’s announcement and the U.S. killing of Gen. Qassem Soleimani in Baghdad last week has sparked a flurry of diplomatic activity in Europe. Borrell has invited Zarif to Brussels, and Germany — a signatory of the deal — is calling for an emergency meeting of EU foreign ministers this week to address the issue. It remained unclear Monday whether Zarif would take up the offer.
German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said the Europeans will talk to Iran and the U.N. nuclear watchdog and take a coordinated decision.
“This could be the first step toward the end of this agreement, which would be a great loss — and so we will weigh things up very, very responsibly,” Maas told Deutschlandfunk radio.
He noted that the agreement contains procedures to respond to such situations. They include the triggering of a “dispute mechanism” that could buy more time to help keep Iran on board.
The EU finds itself in an increasingly awkward position and has been reduced to calling for calm as it seeks to keep Iran inside the agreement and maintain good ties with Washington despite deep concern over the drone killing.
U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has already expressed frustration at the muted European reaction to events in the region.
“Frankly, the Europeans haven’t been as helpful as I wish that they could be. The Brits, the French, the Germans all need to understand that what we did, what the Americans did, saved lives in Europe as well,” Pompeo said.”
Islamic extremists’ toll in Burkina Faso rising, report says (abcnews, Jan 6, 2019)
https://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/islamic-extremists-toll-burkina-faso-rising-report-68094362
“More than 250 civilians have been killed by Islamic extremists in Burkina Faso in less than a year, Human Rights Watch said in a new report Monday, as attacks increase and armed groups gain more territory in the West African nation’s north and east.
Attackers are justifying the killings by linking their victims to the government, the West or Christian beliefs, witnesses told the rights group.
“Armed Islamist groups in Burkina Faso have attacked civilians with unmitigated cruelty and utter disregard for human life,” said Corinne Dufka, the group’s West Africa director. “Deliberately targeting farmers, worshippers, mine workers, displaced people and traders are war crimes.”
At least 20 attacks by groups linked to al-Qaida, such as Ansarul Islam, or the Islamic State group have occurred since April 2019, killing at least 256 people, the report said. The groups often have not claimed responsibility.
Increasing insecurity displaced more than half a million people in 2019, according to the United Nations.
In one major attack, extremists killed at least 35 civilians, mostly women, and ensuing clashes with security forces left 80 extremists dead, Burkina Faso’s president announced Dec. 24. Another attack weeks earlier against a convoy carrying employees of a Canadian mining company killed at least 37 civilians in the country’s east.
Both attacks were by close to 100 fighters, indicating the presence of relatively large, well-organized extremist groups.
For years Burkina Faso was spared the kind of Islamic extremism long seen across the border in Mali, where it took a 2013 French-led military intervention to dislodge fighters from power in several major towns. That changed with a pair of deadly attacks in 2016 and 2017 in the capital, Ouagadougou, that targeted spots popular with foreigners.
Attacks that initially were focused in the northern Sahel region have steadily spread.
Recruitment by extremist groups has focused on the nomadic Peul, or Fulani, “by exploiting community grievances over poverty and the public sector corruption,” Human Rights Watch said. This “has inflamed tensions with other largely agrarian communities.”
While Burkina Faso’s military has received training from both former colonizer France and the United States, it has failed to stem the surge in extremist violence.
“The Islamist armed groups need to immediately end their attacks on civilians,” Dufka said. “At the same time, the Burkina Faso government should take stronger steps to protect vulnerable communities from harm and impartially investigate and appropriately prosecute those implicated in war crimes.””
France: Protesters rally against court decision on Sarah Halimi’s murder
Hundreds of protesters rallied in Paris on Sunday, to condemn the ruling of a court of appeal on the murderer of Sarah Halimi that came out last month.
The court’s decision sparked anger, as it ruled that murderer, Kobili Traore, was “not criminally responsible.”
Brother of Sarah Halimi, William Attal, addressed the crowd of protesters and called the murder an “anti-Semitic religious crime.”
“He [Kobili Traore] entered the apartment and then he massacred her [Sarah Halimi], with punches, kicks, [kicked her] with the phone for half an hour. He broke all the bones in her face, he smashed her skull, he caused 22 fractures. And then he pulled her to the balcony,” he said.
One of the protesters, Chalom, also decried the decision of the court of appeal and said that “if the justice does not want to take care of him, many people in the community will take care of him. It is a statement that we are making.”
The 65-year-old Sarah Halimi was murdered in her flat in 2017 by Kobili Traore.
Psychiatric assessments made in July 2019 reportedly indicated that he was suffering from a psychotic episode following a massive use of cannabis.
The Paris court of appeal, while acknowledging the anti-Semitic nature of the murder, concluded that Traore is “criminally irresponsible,” on December 19, 2019.

Spain: Hundreds of teenagers don blackface for “Three Wise Men” parade
An estimated 450 teenagers dressed up as royal pages and put on blackface as part of the oldest ‘Three Wise Men’ parade in Spain, in Alcoy on Sunday.
The parading ‘pajes’ paint their faces black, dress up in black clothing and draw on big red lips as part of the annual Three Wise Men celebrations. During the parade, the pages climb up ladders to deliver gifts to children through the balconies of local homes.
The portrayal of the ‘pajes’ has received criticism from anti-racism groups in recent years, who consider the practice part of a broader historical process of dehumanisation and othering linked to slavery and colonialism.
“The pajes, as you can see, are no pejorative figure. There is no discrimination here, there is no issue here that could be controversial. On the contrary, it brings pride to all the young people of Alcoy being able to portray the pajes in their city,” said Deputy Mayor of Alcoy Jordi Martinez.
In Spain, the Three Wise Men celebrations, which take place on January 5 and 6, mark the end of the Christmas season as a day commemorating the arrival of the Three Wise Men.

Sky News – ‘Britain’s worst rapist may have attacked 190 men
The most prolific rapist in British legal history has been given multiple life sentences after carrying out sex attacks on 190 male victims.
Reynhard Sinaga, 36, was found guilty of rape and sexual assaults against 48 men.
But police believe Sinaga, originally from Indonesia, may have assaulted many more – potentially upwards of 190, 79 of whom they have not yet been able to identify.
BREITBART – UK: Migrant Who ‘Preyed on Heterosexual Men’ Convicted of 136 Rapes
A migrant man described as the “most prolific rapist in British legal history”, who preyed on young heterosexual men, has been given a life sentence of 30 years after being convicted of 159 sexual offences, including 136 rapes.
Reynhard Sinaga, a 36-year-old Indonesian migrant, has been found guilty of drugging and sexually assaulting 48 young men, whom he would lure from Manchester nightclubs to his apartment, where he would film himself raping his unconscious victims.
Ian Rushton of the Crown Prosecution Service, following the sentencing and the lifting of reporting restrictions, described Sinaga as “the most prolific rapist in British legal history”, adding that he believed the rapist took “a particular pleasure in preying on heterosexual men”, according to the BBC.
“His extreme sense of sexual entitlement almost defies belief and he would no doubt still be adding to his staggering tally had he not been caught,” Rushton added.
Police say that the 36-year-old migrant may have assaulted as many as 190 men. However, many of the victims remain unidentified and because Sinaga used date rape drugs during his crimes some victims might not even remember being assaulted.
In the trial, victims came forward to describe how the sexual assaults had damaged their mental health leading to suicidal thoughts, with one victim saying that Sinaga had “destroyed a part of my life”.
“I have periods where I can’t get up and face the day,” another victim said.
The Indonesian migrant was caught in June of 2017, when a victim regained consciousness while being assaulted, calling police after fighting off Sinaga.
After confiscating Sinaga’s phone, police discovered hundreds of hours of footage from his sexual assaults, precipitating the largest rape investigation against a single individual in British history.
“We suspect he’s offended over a period of 10 years. The information and evidence we are going from is largely from trophies that he’s collected from the victims of his crimes,” said Assistant Chief Constable Mabbs Hussain.
Reynhard Sinaga was found guilty on all charges in a unanimous verdict following an 18-month trial at Manchester Crown Court.
Judge Suzanne Goddard QC, who presided over the case, said that it was “accurate” for Sinaga’s victims to describe him as a monster in light of the “scale and enormity” of his crimes.
While the decision whether or not Sinaga will be released after his 30-year life sentence will be determined by the parole board, Judge Goddard said: “In my judgment, you are a highly dangerous, cunning and deceitful individual who will never be safe to be released.”
“I hope he never comes out of prison and he rots in hell,” said one of his victims.

?American College Of Pediatrics Reaches Decision: Transgenderism Of Children Is Child Abuse
Jeffrey Epstein Murdered
The American College of Pediatricians issued a statement condemning gender reclassification in children by stating that transgenderism in children amounts to child abuse.
“The American College of Pediatricians urges educators and legislators to reject all policies that condition children to accept as normal a life of chemical and surgical impersonation of the opposite sex. Facts – not ideology – determine reality.”
?
Sponsored: Free Trump hats, shirts, flags, and coins available with fast shipping click here
The policy statement, authored by Johns Hopkins Medical School Psychology Professor Paul McHugh, listed eight arguments on why gender reclassification is harmful.
1. Human sexuality is an objective biological binary trait: “XY” and “XX” are genetic markers of health – not genetic markers of a disorder.
2. No one is born with a gender. Everyone is born with a biological sex. Gender (an awareness and sense of oneself as male or female) is a sociological and psychological concept; not an objective biological one.
3. A person’s belief that he or she is something they are not is, at best, a sign of confused thinking. When an otherwise healthy biological boy believes he is a girl, or an otherwise healthy biological girl believes she is a boy, an objective psychological problem exists that lies in the mind not the body, and it should be treated as such.
4. Puberty is not a disease and puberty-blocking hormones can be dangerous.

“[The LNA] has also taken control of as-Saadi military base, some city areas, and is now heading to the city centre,” the source, which is close to the LNA leadership, added.
On Sunday, the LNA denied its involvement in an airstrike on a military academy in Tripoli that killed at least 30 people. According to the Ministry of Health of the UN-backed Government of National Accord (GNA), at least 30 cadets were killed and more than 30 injured as a result of the attack.
Libya has been torn apart between the two rival administrations since 2011, when its long-time leader Muammar Gaddafi was overthrown and killed. The LNA has been trying to seize control over the country’s capital of Tripoli, currently controlled by the rival UN-backed Government of National Accord, since April 2019. Sirte, located between Tripoli and Benghazi, is Gaddafi’s birthplace.”

“The Libyan National Army (LNA), led by Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, took full control of the country’s largest city of Sirte, LNA spokesman Ahmed Mismari said on Monday.
“The Libyan National Army has taken control of the city of Sirte,” the spokesman said in a statement.
Earlier in the day, an LNA source said that the army had entered Sirte and had taken control over the city’s seaport. Forces supporting Tripoli-based Government of National Accord (GNA) then said that the LNA had captured a military base south of Sirte, according to the Qatari broadcaster Al-Jazeera.

Beware the Indonesian gay rapist! Why is this man not working in Hollywood?
https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-50987823
Across four separate trials, the Indonesian national was found guilty of 136 counts of rape, eight counts of attempted rape, 14 counts of sexual assault, and one count of assault by penetration, against a total of 48 victims.
Detectives say they have been unable to identify a further 70 victims and are now appealing for anyone who believes they may have been abused by Sinaga to come forward.
[..]
She added that Sinaga had shown “not a jot of remorse” and at times appeared to be “actually enjoying the trial process”.
Following the sentencing, Ian Rushton, from the CPS, said Sinaga was “the most prolific rapist in British legal history” and possibly “in the world”.
“His extreme sense of sexual entitlement almost defies belief and he would no doubt still be adding to his staggering tally had he not been caught,” he said.
He added that he thought Sinaga took “a particular pleasure in preying on heterosexual men”.
