The article mentions other “unrest” during NYE in Ede: 7 cars burned, police and firemen pelted with fireworks. The place is known for problems with its muslim community (car fires, stonings etc).
Car fire from 4:32, a group of 30 “youths” are responsible, also for vandalism and shooting flares at firemen.

1 – I didn’t hear anybody yell “Allah”. I did hear “yellah” several times, which is commonly transliterated as “jalla”, and indeed is (informal) Arabic for “quick” or “hurry up”. There’s a swedish movie with the title “Jalla! Jalla!”, about an arab immigrant:

The rest of what I heard in the video is weird, broken German, I heard “what we’ve done” at 0:38, and “before the others(?) come, we go” at 0:46.
I checked the comments on YT, some Germans are taking an uhm.. dim view of this incident.
I’ve heard something like “yallah” in Hebrew, as a mild exclamation, Oh, gee…, or “yeah, I’m listening, wow…”

Those truly shocking pictures from Strasbourg are not of a country with social issues they are pictures of a country at war. That’s more than a few cars, that’s an effing bombing raid. The car-burners are Lufftwafe pilots dropping bombs on London and German tanks coming through the Arden forest and should be instantly shot on sight or rounded up and put into POW camps. That’s not “protest”, that’s war and it’s not happening “one day”, it’s happening right now. I’m afraid the French are suffering from “frog in slowly boiling water syndrome” and are actually unaware that they are in a state of war right now and need to fight like hell or they’re going to fucking lose. Do they really not think that each one of those smoking wrecks is screaming, “Fuck you, French Christian pigs!” at the top of its lungs? The fight is on…
