A teenager, 18, has been arrested and charged over a fatal attack on a 61-year-man who was defending his partner when they were set upon on Christmas Eve.
Juan Fresnada was attacked as he walked down the street with his 29-year-old partner, Bayron Caceres, at 1.28 am in the Bronx last Tuesday.
He was beaten so badly that he suffered swelling to his brain and a fractured skull. Caceres was not seriously injured.
Abu Conteh, 18, has been charged with murder, gang assault and robbery for the brutal attack which saw Fresnada robbed of just $1.
Fresnada was rushed to the hospital but he was pronounced dead on Saturday, four days after the assault.
3. Bangladesh closes breast milk bank after Islamist protests
DHAKA, BANGLADESH — A Bangladesh hospital has suspended plans to give donated breast milk to babies after a backlash by Muslim clerics who said the scheme violated Islamic law.
The programme aimed to feed up to 500 orphans and infants of working mothers in the Muslim-majority country, which has high rates of child malnutrition and stunted growth.
Bangladesh’s top Islamic leadership has not yet made a ruling on the milk bank, but it was halted after critics said the plan could lead to breaches of Sharia law if two babies drank milk from the same mother and later married.

Sources tell GL two guns were not ‘operational’ and the third was fake – purchased at the flea market. The suspect was a Middle aged Hispanic male – a witness told GL.
If this is true it was a robbery but I want more evidence before I close my mind to the Jew Hate theory.
