Fusilier Lee Rigby’s killer Michael Adebolajo is part of a deradicalisation programme in the jail where London Bridge attacker Usman Khan was an inmate, it was reported last night.
Adebolajo, 34, is acting as an unofficial mentor to inmates at HMP Woodhill in Buckinghamshire, from which Khan was released in December last year, according to The Sun on Sunday.
He is serving a life sentence for the horrific murder of Drummer Rigby in 2013.
Adebolajo reportedly renounced extremism last year and apologised to the soldier’s family, claiming that he was ‘brainwashed’ and ‘misinterpreted the Koran’.
Last night it was claimed that he is now telling other extremist prisoners at HMP Woodhill that he made a ‘drastic mistake’ and is encouraging them to ‘shun terrorism.’
A source told The Sun on Sunday: ‘Michael’s U-turn has been astonishing but he insists he is on the path of reform and has been helping to talk to other prisoners about the importance of staying on the right path.’
The source also claimed that Adebolajo was in the prison at the same time as Usman Khan, the 28-year-old who killed two people and injured three others in a frenzied stabbing attack by London Bridge last month.
It was last night not clear whether Adebolajo and Khan, who was convicted of a terror offence in 2012 and released halfway through his sentence, did overlap at HMP Woodhill.
A source involved in deradicalisation work told The Mail on Sunday: ‘Prison chaplains and imams were using Adebolajo as an example of someone who has beenderadicalised.
‘But he has never had any one-to-one mentoring with any prisoners at all.
‘Adebolajo has been in Woodhill since at least six months ago.’
He and accomplice Michael Adebowale ran over Drummer Rigby in a car outside his barracks in Woolwich, South-East London, before hacking him to death with knives and a cleaver.
It was last year reported that Adebolajo had wanted to write a letter of apology to the family of the soldier.
Fiyaz Mughal, founder and director of Faith Matters, said last night: ‘Every scrutiny must be placed to ensure that all avenues are checked and that the Prison Service is not being duped.’
Last night the Ministry of Justice said it could not comment on the story.

“When the European Union started funneling millions of euros into Libya to slow the tide of migrants crossing the Mediterranean, the money came with EU promises to improve detention centers notorious for abuse and fight human trafficking.
That hasn’t happened. Instead, the misery of migrants in Libya has spawned a thriving and highly lucrative web of businesses funded in part by the EU and enabled by the United Nations, an Associated Press investigation has found.
The EU has sent more than 327.9 million euros to Libya, with an additional 41 million approved in early December, largely funneled through U.N. agencies. The AP found that in a country without a functioning government, huge sums of European money have been diverted to intertwined networks of militiamen, traffickers and coast guard members who exploit migrants. In some cases, U.N. officials knew militia networks were getting the money, according to internal emails.
The militias torture, extort and otherwise abuse migrants for ransoms in detention centers under the nose of the U.N., often in compounds that receive millions in European money, the AP investigation showed. Many migrants also simply disappear from detention centers, sold to traffickers or to other centers.
The same militias conspire with some members of Libyan coast guard units. The coast guard gets training and equipment from Europe to keep migrants away from its shores. But coast guard members return some migrants to the detention centers under deals with militias, the AP found, and receive bribes to let others pass en route to Europe.
The militias involved in abuse and trafficking also skim off European funds given through the U.N. to feed and otherwise help migrants, who go hungry. For example, millions of euros in U.N. food contracts were under negotiation with a company controlled by a militia leader, even as other U.N. teams raised alarms about starvation in his detention center, according to emails obtained by the AP and interviews with at least a half-dozen Libyan officials.
In many cases, the money goes to neighboring Tunisia to be laundered, and then flows back to the militias in Libya…”

Crowds of angry Iraqis protesting America’s recent airstrikes against an Iran-backed militia laid siege to the U.S. Embassy compound in Baghdad Tuesday, chanting “Down, Down USA!” as they stormed through a main gate and prompting U.S. troops to fire back tear gas in response.
On Tuesday afternoon the chaotic scene was still unfolding in the Iraqi capital. At least six U.S. soldiers were seen standing on the roof of the main building pointing their firearms at the demonstrators and sounds of gunfire could be heard.

A detachment of 100 Marines are reinforcing the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, Iraq, after Iraq protesters supportive of an Iran-backed Shiite militia attempted to storm the compound, U.S. Central Command said Tuesday.
All U.S. personnel are secure and there are no plans to evacuate the embassy, the State Department told Military Times in a Tuesday email.

Early census data reveals congressional seats will shift power to southern and western states
Committees in charge of redistricting are chomping at the bit to see how the House of Representatives will be composed. This comes after the U.S. Census Bureau released new data indicating which states will gain congressional seats and which will lose seats. A summary of the data, released Monday, shows Southern and Western states are poised to gain seats in Congress.
There has been a lot of debate on how to accurately collect the data, especially with the controversial citizenship question proposed by President Trump. The fight on who and how the population will be counted can bring consequences to state’s resources budgets.
“It’s why you see mayors, both Republican and Democratic, speaking out against this question,” said attorney Vanita Gupta. “Because they realize they are responsible for everyone, for those services, for everyone in their jurisdiction regardless of status.”
There are several states who look to benefit from the predictions. As of now, Texas is looking to gain at least two more seats in their lower chamber. Six other states, including Arizona, Oregon and Florida, are looking to gain at least one more.

Richard: This is why the Dems fought to keep the citizenship question off the Census Form, the seats in the House of Representatives are divided by the number of citizens in each state. The Dems want to get as many people counted as citizens as possible because they know that the new Judges Trump is appointing will probably support the idea that only citizens count when the seats in Congress are divided up. This will shift power away from the Liberal states on both coasts and shift the political power to the states west of the Mississippi and below the Mason Dixon line. This is why the fought so hard to keep Trump from shifting the Supreme Court Conservative.
The Dems made a nasty mess with their high taxes and generous welfare provision, thus many people moved out of the Dem controlled states and most of those who moved voted Repub in most elections. The people who are moving to Missouri are Conservatives aby a 2 to 1 or 3 to 1 margin these new Conservative voters will vote to put Conservative in the new seats given to their new state.
If they can cheat with redistricting, they’ll have to cheat LESS to win elections. Grim.
Yup, they know the value of this election as well as we do, if they win they think they can take control of the nation and turn us communist. They need to look at the Second Amendment Sanctuary movement and then at their hole cared. The last time someone made a serious attempt to disarm the US citizens was 1775 and we know what happened then. I don’t think they really want to try for a redo of that war.

Supporters of the protests outnumbered opponents by a ratio of nearly two to one, with 30% percent saying they were opposed. Of those polled, 57% said they favored the resignation of Carrie Lam, the city’s leader. Lam was a particular target of the anti-government demonstrations that gripped Hong Kong for most of 2019 after she attempted to push through a deeply unpopular extradition bill.

A new opportunity for restoring what are viewed as former Ottoman territorial claims has recently arisen with the Turkish-Libyan maritime agreements concluded on November 27, 2019. While Libya is split between two governments, Prime Minister Fayez al-Sarraj based in Tripoli, with Turkish support, created an Exclusive Economic Zone for Libya extending 200 nautical miles into the Mediterranean Sea.
Libya’s Exclusive Economic Zone now touches the Exclusive Economic Zone of Turkey, making their maritime borders contiguous in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea. These agreements do not establish sovereignty over the Mediterranean seabed, but they do help define the rights of Mediterranean states to exploit hydrocarbon resources.
The Libyan move was opposed by many states; Egypt registered its objections to the UN Security Council. Israeli leaders privately called the Libyan-Turkish deal illegal.

Social media posts showed protesters breaking the embassy’s windows and setting fires outside its walls.
Hours later, President Trump warned Iran that the U.S. will hold it responsible for the attack.

“Following a surge in left-wing extremist Antifa attacks this year, the Leipzig police say they will be increasing their presence in the city on New Year’s Eve to protect emergency services from potential attacks.
The announcement comes after left-wing extremists are suspected of being behind an arson attack on Sunday that saw two police vehicles set on fire and a third vehicle used by the city police and the Leipzig police directorate damaged as a result, German tabloid Bild reports.
According to a spokesman from the State Criminal Police Office (LKA), a power distribution box was also set on fire at a different location on the same evening, with the fire spreading to a radio mast but not doing any permanent damage to the structure.
The police special unit against left-wing extremism (LinX) has taken over investigations into both incidents and on Monday a note was posted online by far-leftists taking credit for the incidents and stating, “If you take our media away from us, we will destroy your stuff.”
The note refers to the shut down of the notorious far-left web platform Indymedia and the site “linksunten” which was shut down in the wake of the massive wave of Antifa violence during the Hamburg G20 in 2017. A trial in connection to the site is set to begin in January.
Police spokesman Alexander Bertram commented on the new measures to protect emergency services, including police officers, saying, “We will take protective measures, but you will not be able to see everything. But where we will do it and in what detail, of course, I can’t reveal.”
In 2019 alone, the city of Leipzig has seen an estimated 357 attacks by Antifa extremists including arsons on construction sites in October that totalled 10 million euros in damages…”
Germany: Merkel urges action on “threatening” climate crisis in New Year message
German Chancellor Angela Merkel ensured that she is doing “everything” in her power to tackle climate change in her end of year speech in Berlin on Tuesday.
She recognised how everyday lives have been changed by the digital age, and called global warming “real” and “threatening.” Merkel acknowledged that at the age of 65 she will not live to see all the consequences, and said everyone must do whatever possible to get a “grip” on climate change.
“Working together with Africa is also in our own interest. Only when people have the chance to live peacefully and securely, will exoduses and migration will decrease. Only if we end wars through political solutions, sustainable security will be achieved. Our security and prosperity depend on whether our neighbours also become secure and economically prosperous,” she added.
Merkel will be officially stepping down as Chancellor in 2021.
Grooming Gang Epidemic: Nearly 19,000 Children Sexually Exploited in the UK Last Year (breitbart, Dec 31, 2019)

“The scourge of sexual exploitation of children has reached “epidemic” levels in the United Kingdom, as nearly 19,000 children were sexually groomed over the past year.
Local authorities have reported over 18,700 suspected victims of child sexual exploitation at the hands of grooming gangs between 2018-19, more than five times higher than the 3,300 reported cases just five years ago.
Sammy Woodhouse, a victim of the Rotherham rapist Arshid Hussain, said that the authorities have not implemented meaningful changes in combatting the crisis.
“You hear this bullshit line, ‘lessons have been learned’, but they haven’t learned anything”, she told The Independent.
“I still hear a lot about the authorities aren’t doing things as they should. It’s not very often I hear something good and for all different reasons – if the police won’t act on reports, people feel they’re not being listened to or supported properly, or information not being shared”, she added.
“I’ve said for years that this country’s in epidemic when it comes to abuse and exploitation. Authorities claim it’s under control but it’s not”, Woodhouse concluded.
Lancashire was the locality hit the hardest last year, with a total of 624 suspected victims, followed by Birmingham with 490, 447 in Surrey, 414 in Bradford and 409 in Gloucestershire. Thousands of more cases of abuse have been discovered across the country over the past decade, especially as the scandals of predominantly Pakistani male child rape gangs have been exposed.
The Labour MP for Rotherham, Sarah Champion, said that the figures demonstrate that grooming “remains one of the largest forms of child abuse in the country”.
“The government has singularly failed to tackle this issue head-on. Its approach has been piecemeal and underfunded”, she said.
The Home Office has allocated 7 million pounds to support survivors of child sex abuse for 2019-20 and has set up investigations into the institutional responses to the scandals in Rotherham and Norfolk, with a series of public hearings expected in the spring of 2020.
“The Home Office is committed to tackling child sexual abuse and will leave no stone unturned in tackling this abhorrent behaviour”, a spokesperson said.
“This is why we launched the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual Abuse to get to the truth, expose what has gone wrong and learn lessons for the future. The inquiry operates independently of government and, within its terms of reference, decides for itself what it investigates”, the spokesperson added.
Earlier this month Breitbart London reported that 16 men of South Asian descent, including a police officer, were charged in connection to grooming crimes allegedly committed against three teenage girls in Halifax, England.
The following day an additional four men of South Asian-origin were convicted of sexually exploiting children during the early 2000s in Telford, England.
In 2018, then Home Secretary, Sajid Javid launched an inquiry into the ethnic origins of members of grooming gangs in the UK. Speaking to the BBC in December, Javid determined that the majority of perpetrators were of Pakistani origin.
“When it comes to gang-based child exploitation it is self-evident to anyone who cares to look that if you look at all the recent high-profile cases there is a high proportion of men that have Pakistani heritage”, Javid said.
“There could be – I’m not saying that there are – there could be some cultural reasons from the communities that these men came from that could lead to this kind of behaviour”, he added.”

“Iranian militia leader Hadi al-Amiri, one of several identified as leading an attack on the U.S. embassy in Baghdad on Tuesday, reportedly visited the White House in 2011 during the presidency of Barack Obama.
On Tuesday, a mob in Baghdad attacked the U.S. embassy in retaliation against last weekend’s U.S. airstrikes against the Iran-backed Shiite militia Kataib Hezbollah (KH), responsible for killing an American civilian contractor. KH is one of a number of pro-Iran militias that make up the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF/PMU), which legally became a wing of the Iraqi military after fighting the Sunni Islamic State terrorist group.
President Donald Trump has since accused Iran of having “orchestrated” the embassy attack and stated that the government would be “held fully responsible.”
Breitbart News reporter John Hayward described the attack on the embassy, writing:
The mob grew into thousands of people, led by openly identified KH supporters, some of them wearing uniforms and waving militia flags. The attack began after a funeral service for the 25 KH fighters killed by the U.S. airstrikes. Demonstrators marched through the streets of Baghdad carrying photos of the slain KH members and Iraq’s top Shiite cleric, Grand Ayatollah Ali Sistani, who condemned the American airstrikes.
KH vowed to seek revenge for the airstrikes on Monday. Both KH and the Iranian military unit that supports it, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), have been designated as terrorist organizations by the U.S. government. The government of Saudi Arabia also described KH as one of several “terrorist militias supported by the Iranian establishment” in remarks on Tuesday condemning the assault on the U.S. embassy.
The attackers were able to smash open a gate and push into the embassy compound, lighting fires, smashing cameras, and painting messages such as “Closed in the name of resistance” on the walls. Gunshots were reportedly heard near the embassy, while tear gas and stun grenades were deployed by its defenders.
A uniformed militia fighter on the scene in Baghdad told Kurdish news service Rudaw that attacks were also planned against the U.S. consulates in Erbil and Basra, with the goal of destroying the consulates and killing everyone inside.
The Washington Post reported Tuesday that among those agitating protesters in Baghdad on Tuesday was Hadi al-Amiri, a former transportation minister with close ties to Iran who leads the Badr Corps, another PMF militia.
In 2011, both Fox News and the Washington Times noted that then-Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki brought his transportation minister, al-Amiri, to a meeting at the White House. The Times noted that the White House did not confirm his attendance, but the official was on Iraq’s listed members of its delegation.
The al-Amiri accompanying al-Maliki, besides also being transportation minister, was identified at the time as a commander of the Badr organization, further indicating it was the same person. At the time, the outlets expressed concern that al-Amiri had ties to the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), which the FBI has stated played a role in a 1996 terrorist attack that killed 19 U.S. servicemen. President Donald Trump designated the IRGC a foreign terrorist organization, the first time an official arm of a foreign state received the designation.
Fox News’ Ed Henry questioned White House Press Secretary Jay Carney following the visit about the attendance of al-Amiri at the White House. Carney refused to answer and stating that he would need to investigate the issue. The full transcript from RealClearPolitics reads:

As former prosecutor Andrew McCarthy pointed out at National Review last month, they date back to Iran’s seizure of hostages at the U.S. Embassy in Tehran, its support for “Hezbollah’s killing sprees,” and, most pertinently, Bill Clinton’s 1995 invocation of “federal laws that deal with national emergencies caused by foreign aggression,” by which he meant Iran’s support for international terrorism.
Former white house staffer during the Obama administration, Ben Rhodes, blamed President Trump’s policies for the Tuesday attack on the U.S. embassy.
Many have hit back at Rhodes for the accusations, including former CIA ops officer Bryan Dean Wright.

“The Council of Ministers expressed on Tuesday the Kingdom’s condemnation of the attacks by terrorist forces backed by the Iranian regime against the American forces, who are present in Iraq as part of the international coalition forces to confront the terrorist organization Daesh (so-called IS). Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman chaired the weekly session of the Cabinet at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh.
In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency following the session, Minister of Media Turki Al-Shabanah said the Cabinet emphasized that the terrorist attacks in Iraq violate that country’s sovereignty and affect its security and stability apart from directly thwarting the efforts to combat terrorism. “This necessitates supporting efforts to cooperate between the Iraqi government and the US-led international coalition forces in investigating the attack that targeted an Iraqi base near Kirkuk, and taking appropriate measures to prevent the recurrence of such the Iranian regime-backed hostilities.”
The minister stated that the Cabinet praised the efforts of the Presidency of the State Security and its staff in following up and tracking down terrorists who were trying to undermine the security and stability of the country as well as that of its citizens and residents, referring to the foiled terror attack in Dammam in which two wanted terrorists were killed and one was arrested.
Condemning the terror attacks in Burkina Faso and Mogadishu in Somalia that claimed the lives of several civilians and security men, the Cabinet reiterated the Kingdom’s position of rejecting violence, extremism and terrorism in all their forms and manifestations…”
