Hungarian FM said to instruct his diplomats to block any text on the legal status of settlements; France, Germany, Spain issue their own statements

 

An effort to get all 28 European Union member states to issue a joint statement condemning the US decision to no longer consider Israeli settlements as illegal is being blocked by Hungary, according to a diplomatic source with direct knowledge of the matter.

 

No text has yet been circulated among member states, as Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó made it plain that his country would veto any statement on the settlement’s legality, the source added, speaking to The Times of Israel on condition of anonymity.

 

On Monday, US Secretary Mike Pompeo declared that the current administration was changing its stance on the legality of Israeli settlements. “The establishment of Israeli civilian settlements in the West Bank is not per se inconsistent with international law,” he said.

5. Denmark to end consular assistance to Islamist fighters

Denmark said Saturday it planned to withhold consular assistance from Danish citizens who went abroad to fight for Islamist groups such as the Islamic State group (IS) in Syria or Iraq.

The announcement comes days after Turkey began sending back foreign jihadists to their countries of origin, deporting Europeans including those from France, Germany and Denmark.

 

“We owe absolutely nothing to foreign fighters who went to Syria and Iraq to fight for IS,” Foreign Minister Jeppe Kofod tweeted.

 

“This is why we are now taking measures against the access of foreign fighters to consular assistance by the foreign ministry and Danish representations abroad,” he said.

 

According to Danish news agency Ritzau, consular assistance usually consists of prison visits and discussions with local authorities about detention conditions.

“The investigation committee wasted a year hearing irrelevant testimony, and now that we have the first real witness, we find out why: the German government was warned of Anis Amri as a potential terrorist, explicitly and concretely, almost a year ahead of time, and did everything they could to prevent the attack – from being prevented,” she said.

This one is a little disturbing. I emailed this link to someone with a lifetime in various aspects of professional psychology to check its legitimacy. It does seems as if legitimate professional associations of psychology and psychologists, actually want to characterize non-compliance with the anthropogenic climate consensus as a mental illness.

  1. I believe, not long ago in discussions, PC confirmed the leftist infiltration of the psychiatric profession. I think the topic of discussion was that profession’s support of sexual dysphoria and the promotion of child hormone treatment.

    • I remember that, at the time I thought that they were bringing the Soviet Union to North America one program at a time.
