3. Turkish Government, Twitter Users Describe Invasion Of Northeast Syria In Religious Terms: ‘The Lord Commands Us To Be Violent Against The Unbelievers’; ‘In Times Of Jihad’ A Muslim Army Makes ‘Its Enemies’ Blood Flow Thunderously Like Waterfalls’

[…] Invasion Framed In Religious Terms By Turkish President, Ministry Of Religious Affairs, And Press: ‘The Lord Commands Us To Be Violent Against The Unbelievers’

In the evening on October 9, hours after the invasion began, Turkey’s Ministry Of Religious Affairs announced that Chapter 48 of the Quran, titled Al-Fath (“The Conquest”), would be recited and prayers would be offered for the success of the invasion at morning prayer the following day at 90,000 mosques across Turkey.[1]

A video uploaded to the Internet on October 9 shows Turkish soldiers riding a bus reportedly heading to the Turkey-Syria border listening to a recitation of the same chapter of the Quran.[2]

The Ministry of Religious Affairs issued on October 11 its weekly Friday sermon, which cited Quran 9:20: “Those who have faith and migrate and who make jihad in the path of Allah with their property and their lives are greater in rank in the sight of Allah. And it is those who are the attainers.” The sermon, delivered at 90,000 mosques across Turkey, also cited a hadith compiled by both Sahih Al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim: “Oh people! Do not wish to meet your enemy [in battle]. Ask Allah [that you] stay far from curses and calamities, but when you do meet your enemy, be patient, and know that paradise is under the shade of swords.” The sermon warned the congregations that “those who wish to erase us from the stage of history have never given up their labors. But those who are eyeing our homeland, which is watered with the sacred blood of our martyrs, who want to divide up our nation, are condemned to lose today just as they did yesterday.”[3]

6. Three performers stabbed on stage in Riyadh

RIYADH – Three performers were stabbed during a play in Riyadh on Monday night and the alleged assailant was arrested, the Saudi Press Agency reported. This was the first such incident since the Kingdom opened its doors for entertainment.

“At around 8.00 p.m. Riyadh police have arrested a Yemeni national, aged 33, after he stabbed two men and a woman who were members of a theatrical group during a live show in a theatre at King Abdullah Park in Malaz district, in the center of the capital city,” spokesman of Riyadh police said in a statement.

The man, carrying a knife, was seen stomping onto the stage to attack performers in theatrical costumes during a musical performance, in footage broadcast on Al-Ekbariya. Security men immediately stormed and overpowered the attacker.

(Did ANYONE in the audience not think it was part of the play?)

Thank you M., Wrath of Khan, EB., PC., Don L., Richard, Ava Lon, Johnny U., Major Tom, and everyone who sent in links, translations, comments or any kind of assistance with this work.

Something very interesting in the oven right now. I hope to get it up tonight. If I understand what this video is correctly, it is something like we have never posted before in the entire decade and change that we have been doing this work.

  1. 2. ‘The FEMEN tactic was used by an activist without movement agreement.

FEMEN fights for the right to blasphemy against all religions, including Islam and for the respect and dignity of people, including Muslims’

    Enigma code broken:
“A Femen-member struck out her own and targeted islam. In fear of yet another Charlie Hebdo jihadi-massacre we apologize for this offence to all muslims.”

  2. 5/ Extraterritorial rendition is a fact of life. China and all the tardish countries do it regularly. (We probably do it too.) Sometimes an individual of means, like the tribal chieftain of Sharjah (UAE), organizes a grab independently.

Since the Khashoggi info operation got so much mileage in the West, especially with the target audience in the USA, expect to hear more from dubious sources like “Prisoners of Conscience”. The reporting is propaganda, meant to undermine PTrump’s Gulf alliance strategy.
