1. The Professor – ISIS’s ‘cruel but popular’ new leader: Ex-Saddam officer Abdullah Qardash, who was imprisoned alongside Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and eliminated his rivals, takes the reins after former chief was killed in US strikes

ISIS’s new leader is believed to be a former officer in Saddam Hussein’s military who forged an alliance with al-Baghdadi in prison before becoming his enforcer and chief policymaker.

Abdullah Qardash – nicknamed The Professor or The Destroyer because of his reputation as a brutal legislator – is known as a cruel but popular figure among the ISIS rank-and-file.

According to a statement by Amaq, ISIS’s press agency, Baghdadi appointed Qardash to run the group’s day-to-day operations in August this year, making him the heir-apparent after his former boss killed himself during a raid by US forces in Syria at the weekend.

1b. Whoops!

US Had New ISIS Leader in Custody

Like Osama bin Laden, Al-Baghdadi was no longer the functional leader of his Islamic terror group by the time we hunted him down, but there is an important difference. While Al-Baghdadi had handed down operational control, he remained the Caliph.

As such, the entire basis for the Islamic State and its alliances depended on him. Now he’s dead and the Caliphate may be gone with him. Abdullah Qardash, the man Baghdadi had appointed to replace him while heading ISIS, is now, in theory, in charge. And, like his boss, we had him in custody and let him go.

Like Baghdadi, Abdullah Qardash had been in Camp Bucca. The two apparently met and bonded there.

There’s been some debate as to when exactly Baghdadi had been released from Bucca. The most famous account pegged it as being in 2009.

(If you have not watched the Bulgarian documentary from around 2011 on US support of the Islamic State, now is a good time)

2. Former FBI General Counsel Jim Baker Speaks Out in Favor of Strong Encryption

(This is amazing news. This is the guy who was demanding access to the cell phone of the community centre attackers in San Bernardino a few years ago and Apple refused to hack it for them. He has seen the light and allowing people privacy is more important to American values than convenient spying by government)

Former FBI General Counsel Jim Baker, who was known for prosecuting the legal case against Apple to get them to unlock the San Bernardino shooter’s iPhone, has published an extraordinary essay on Lawfare where he surprisingly argues rather for strong encryption without government back doors.

From Schneier on Security:

In the face of congressional inaction, and in light of the magnitude of the threat, it is time for governmental authorities — including law enforcement — to embrace encryption because it is one of the few mechanisms that the United States and its allies can use to more effectively protect themselves from existential cybersecurity threats, particularly from China. This is true even though encryption will impose costs on society, especially victims of other types of crime.

[…] I am unaware of a technical solution that will effectively and simultaneously reconcile all of the societal interests at stake in the encryption debate, such as public safety, cybersecurity and privacy as well as simultaneously fostering innovation and the economic competitiveness of American companies in a global marketplace.

3. Quebec will make immigrants pass ‘values’ test to qualify for residency

(Cause muslims are incapable of lying on tests so this should be foolproof)

Immigrants to Canada who want to settle in Quebec will soon be required to pass a provincial values test.

Starting Jan. 1, new arrivals will have to prove they have learned “democratic values and Quebec values” in order to obtain a selection certificate, the first step toward permanent residency for immigrants wanting to live in the province.

Premier François Legault said the test, which was a promise made by Coalition Avenir Québec in last year’s provincial election, sends a clear message to would-be immigrants.

“I think it’s important if somebody wants to come and live in Quebec to know that, for example, women are equal to men in Quebec,” he said Wednesday, stressing that some religious extremists don’t share that view.

He added that it’s important newcomers understand the province’s new secularism law, which bans public workers in positions of authority from wearing religious symbols.

4. Three men charged after 15-year-old girl sexually assaulted and confined in Ottawa apartment

AAaaand the survey says!

Three men have been charged after a 15-year-old Ottawa girl was allegedly lured from a mall and sexually assaulted.

Police have charged Bile Mohamed, 27, Yusuf Yusuf, 30, and Ismail Moallim, 21, with sexual assault with a weapon, sexual assault causing bodily harm, sexual interference and forcible confinement.

According to reports, the girl was lured by a man from a shopping centre in the city’s east end, and brought to his apartment, where police say she was sexually assaulted and prevented from leaving.

(Bile seems a good name for that one)

5. Call to prayer near city hall Toronto. This is dated October 25th. But could be earlier. Does anyone know about this event?

6. 11 Suspected Jihadists Arrested in Swiss Raids, Including Several Minors

A large-scale anti-terror raid in three cantons across Switzerland has led to the arrest of 11 suspected jihadists including five minors.

Around 100 federal police agents along with cantonal police from Schaffhausen, Bern, and Zurich took part in the raids which were conducted by the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office (MPC), the State Minors’ Ministries of Winterthur, and the Canton of Bern, 20minutes reports.

Four of the minors arrested were located in Zurich and were aged between 15 and 17. The other, also a teen, was arrested in Bern. All of the underage suspects will be tried by the ministries for minors in both Bern and Winterthur, while the MPC will prosecute the adults.

Thank you M., ML., Wrath of Khan, EB., PePo, Xanthippa, Richard and all who sent in materials and comments. Lots to come still. Andrew Bostom did another exceptional presentation on Islamic antisemitism, present and past. Hopefully it will be edited and public by the weekend. Also a few other translations in the works.

Meanwhile schools continue to teach children that its OK to be morbidly obese and there is no such thing as sex unless you are a man pretending to be a woman. Then that seems to be all there is.

Meanwhile, police in the UK continue to consider crime a non-problem but stickers questioning the impossible require a call to find witnesses.

Thames Valley Police have called for witnesses after a slew of transphobic stickers were posted around Oxford city centre.

In a statement on their website, Thames Valley Police referred to the posting of the stickers as a public offence, with stickers being placed around the High Street, Catte Street and Parks Road areas from March 2019 onwards.

Investigating officer PC Rebecca Nightingale said, “Behaviour like this is not acceptable and we take incidents of this nature very seriously,” and called for anyone who had witnessed the placing of the stickers to call the non-emergency 101 number.

The stickers are thought to have largely posted by a group known as trans-exclusionary radical feminists (TERFs) and include comments such as “Woman. Noun. Adult human female” and “women don’t have penises,” as well as “Auto-gynephilia.”

  1. 5. Call to prayer in Toronto, It is time John Tory was removed from office. The political system of Islam is totally incapable with Western Democracy.
Iqra Khalid, Muslim, yes I said Muslim, Liberal member of parliament , first visits was to Palestine House, an organization defunded by the federal governent because of their support to Islamists extremism. Tory should know this and stop the bullshit now. Iqra Khalid’s beliefs are not in line with our Charter of Rights. Canadians should stand up and say NO, we do not need any more of her garbage. She is a supporter of the Muslim Brotherhood hoods, the ISNA, The INCA, she is a promoter of Sahri’ah law within Canada, and should be forced to step down. Anyone who supports Jamaat-e-Islami, is a traitor to Canada.

Caliphate, no it is time for all Canadians to rise up and say, accept us as we are and assimilate or GET THE HELL OUT of this country.

    • I think it’s borderline too late for Greater Area Toronto. Too many Muslims and ‘woke’ people.
‘Islamophobia’ and MSM media prevent people from speaking out for fear of being branded.
Schools are subjugating to Islamic demands and Halal market is flourishing.

  2. 1. The Professor sounds lovely. A strict but just legal scholar, just like WaPo likes ’em. They’re very particular about their genocidal theocratic tyrants, don’t you know.
I’m sure they’ll do a profile on him, how he was a promising tennis prodigy whose meteoric rise was tragically cut short by an ingrown toenail. His aunt will remember how he used to help his mother wash the dishes.

  3. LGBT education: Outright criminal for our kids. We used to have Cinderella and Snow White and now we have that crap poisoning the minds of our children. Most decent and good Transgender people are against this. When will parents wake up?

  4. #3: new test question that should be included
Which is the least costly way for me to pass the values test?
    (a) Pay someone $10 to take the test in my place
    (b) Bring an unopened box of cigars to the test so that the proctor will provide the answers
    (c) None of these
    (d) Ask a friend to do me a favor by saving his sample test for me
