Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.
This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

US Detention Center Worker Alleges Employer Barred Her From Wearing Hijab – Complaint (sputniknews, Oct 19, 2019)
https://sputniknews.com/society/201910191077090396-us-detention-center-worker-alleges-employer-barred-her-from-wearing-hijab—complaint/
“Madinah Brown, a Muslim woman who lives in Delaware, has accused her employer of ordering her not to wear her hijab to work.
Brown, who works at the New Castle County Detention Center, has filed a complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, a federal agency responsible for dealing with workplace discrimination cases.
The complaint states that Brown applied to work at the center in October 2011. Before her interview, her friend, who had experience working at a state correctional facility, told her not to wear her hijab to the interview. However, Brown decided to wear her hijab and was declined the position.
Two months later, she reapplied for the same position at the detention center, this time forgoing a hijab for the interview, and she was awarded the position. She started working at the detention center in February 2012. In 2014, Brown wore her hijab to work and was told by one of her supervisors she could not wear it for “safety reasons.” Even though Brown agreed to modify her hijab to be detachable to address security concerns, her supervisors did not approve the garment.
“Delaware was required to accommodate Ms. Brown’s sincerely held religious beliefs, unless doing so would impose undue hardship. Wearing a hijab does not pose an undue burden. Delaware prohibited Ms. Brown from wearing a hijab because they stated it posed a security and safety risk. Yet, Ms. Brown proposed a solution that would mitigate the potential safety hazards Delaware cited, with no cost to Delaware,” the report states.
In August, when Brown had issues with the metal detector at the facility, a supervisor yelled at her, “Now you’re looking like a terrorist” in front of other employees. It is unclear if Brown was wearing a hijab during this incident.
“This is a clear example of religious discrimination and the state of Delaware has no basis from preventing Madinah from working with her hijab on,” Zanah Ghalawanji, an attorney for the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), is quoted as saying by Delaware Online. CAIR is representing Brown.
According to the Delaware Department of Services for Children, Youth and Their Families, which supervises the detention center, its actions toward Brown were not an attempt at stifling “religious freedoms.”
“We must carefully balance our strong support of religious freedom with the need to keep youth and staff safe,” the statement reads. “In some instances, a person’s job may require them to do certain actions, such as the physical restraint of a youth, that makes wearing some religious clothing unsafe.””

Kuwait: Lawyer files lawsuit to block Twitter
https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/20191018-kuwait-lawyer-files-lawsuit-to-block-twitter/
“A lawyer filed a lawsuit at a Kuwaiti court demanding the closure of the social networking site Twitter.
In her lawsuit, she said that Twitter is contributing to the destruction of values within the community, while government control of fake accounts is weak, according to Kuwait newspaper Al-Qabas.
Authorities in the Gulf state have repeatedly cracked down on social media users, arresting those deemed to have “insulted” the state or its officials or “harmed” relations with other countries. In May the Kuwaiti Criminal Court sentenced activist Mosaed Al-Moseilem to five years in prison and a fine of 10,000 dinars ($32,856) after finding him guilty of criticising the UAE on Twitter.
The court said his comments could have jeopardised Kuwait’s relationship with a friendly state.”

Pakistani man jailed for blasphemous Facebook post
https://gulfnews.com/world/asia/pakistan/pakistani-man-jailed-for-blasphemous-facebook-post-1.67225757
“A Pakistani court Friday sentenced a man to five years “rigorous imprisonment” — jail and hard labour — for a blasphemous Facebook post, in what is believed to be one of the first such cases under controversial cybercrime laws.
Sajid Ali was charged with posting blasphemous and derogatory content against revered Islamic figures on the social network in 2017.
Blasphemy is a hugely sensitive issue in conservative Pakistan, where the laws can carry a potential death sentence for anyone deemed to have insulted Islam. Even unproven allegations have led to mob lynchings and murder.
Prosecutor Munam Bashir Chaudhry told AFP the case is the first to be tried under a section of the cybercrime laws, which were passed in 2016, pertaining to hate speech.
There have been other cases of prosecution against “online blasphemy” in Pakistan, including one in 2017 that saw a man sentenced to death for sharing what the court said was blasphemous content on social media.
However, none of the previous convictions have come under the cybercrime laws, according to Chaudhry.
Pakistani authorities say they have registered about 500 cases in total under the cybercrime laws since they came into effect.
Critics of the laws say they are open to abuse by government agencies to restrict freedom of expression in a country where activists have long warned of a shrinking space for dissent…”

He appeared at the Grenoble court accused of making murder threats against his wife and “repeated violence.”He allegedly committed the domestic crimes between May and September 2019.
Moroccan media widely reported the arrest of Jawadi last month, claiming that he had been arrested for raping a young French woman.
Jawadi pleaded guilty to all charges, the news outlet reported.
The comedian will be on probation for two years. The court also warned him not to contact his wife.
The comedian justified his acts, claiming that he was experiencing mental issues due to his “deteriorating social conditions after he left Morocco.”

“Turkish security forces “neutralized” two terrorists affiliated with the PKK in northern Iraq, according to the Defense Ministry.
“As part of Operation Claw going on successfully and conducted in [Iraq’s] Hakurk region, two more members of the
separatist PKK terrorist group were neutralized,” said the ministry on Twitter on Oct. 18.
Turkish authorities often use the word “neutralized” in their statements to imply that the terrorists in question either surrendered or were killed or captured.
On May 27, Turkey launched Operation Claw against the PKK in the Hakurk region of northern Iraq, followed by its second and third phases in July and late August.
Over 400 PKK terrorists have been “neutralized” in northern Iraq over the past four months, according to the ministry. The illegal PKK, internationally recognized as a terrorist organization, often uses northern Iraq as a base to plan cross-border attacks in Turkey.”

Turkish student in France punished for military salute
https://www.aa.com.tr/en/europe/turkish-student-in-france-punished-for-military-salute/1619012
“A school in eastern France withdrew an award that a 14-year-old student of Turkish origin won in a running competition after he performed a soldier salute in respect to martyred Turkish soldiers.
The principal of a French mid-school in Saint-Usage town took back the trophy from Eren Ertugrul, who came in first in the race, after he performed a soldier salute.
Ali Ertugrul, Eren’s father, told Anadolu Agency the principal considered the salute as a “provocative action”.
“After the soldier salute, my son was taken to the principal’s room in the school. The principal took the cup from my son’s hands, saying that the military salute was a provocation to the French and that such a thing should not be done at school.” Ertugrul said.
Ertugrul added that his son performed the salute due to pay respect to Turkish soldiers, who were martyred during the anti-terror operation in northern Syria which was launched on Oct. 9.
The parents of the child talked to both the mayor of the city and to the principal after they learned about the incident.
The couple recalled French star Antoine Griezmann, who made a military salute in front of French President Emmanuel Macron in Moscow, during a ceremony at the 2018 FIFA World Cup final and said: “We do not accept our son’s behavior as a crime. Griezmann made the same soldier salute, why don’t you react to him?”
Eren’s salute was supported by Turkish community in the town, said father Ertugrul, adding: “The response [from the principal] has affected my son badly and he came home crying.”…”
Austria jails imam and three other men for Isis recruitment
https://www.thelocal.at/20191018/austria-jails-imam-and-three-other-men-for-isis-recruitment
“An imam and three other men have been locked up by an Austrian court for running a religious group that recruited young men for Isis.
The court in Graz, the capital of Styria state, sentenced the imam to seven years in jail.
The three men received six-year, five-year and five-month suspended jail terms for their links to Isis in Syria.
Two other men were tried but acquitted.
All of the accused were born in Turkey and were found to be involved with the group founded by the 47-year-old imam, who has denied radicalizing young men to recruit them for Isis.
The others accused have also maintained their innocence, and the verdicts can be appealed.
Like other European countries, Austria saw a wave of people – many of them minors and some young women – leave the country to join Isis in Syria and Iraq.
In 2016, a Muslim preacher known as Ebu Tejma at the centre of an Austrian jihad propaganda network was sentenced to 20 years in jail for “brainwashing” dozens of people aged between 14 and 30.”
Thank you Vlad for my crosses, such prompt delivery. They are stunning. I am going to give a cross and Qur’an for Christmas to some my friends. When you wear the beautiful cross it is, forgive me for saying, it is a double edged sword. Not only do peoplekind admire it but you also get to inform them of the history. I have received many bright smiles when I talk about the history. I think everyone, all the infidels should wear one, it would separate the patriots from the coward traitors. sadly, we may be close to the time when we have to pick a side.
Thank you for the order and the kind words. I agree with all. And as for picking sides, yes the awful truth is that the luxurious times we grew up in here in the West, where people could have radically different views on politics and so on, and still enjoy going out together are over.
The visceral hatred from the left and Islam towards classically minded people will force the hand of the rest of us, or destroy us altogether and within the lifetimes of the average adult I fear.
