Reader’s Links for October 5, 2019

Daily Links Post graphic

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  1. German soccer fans are not allowed to enter a Turkish soccer stadium because there are Christian symbols in the emblem of their soccer club.+++
Policemen with machine guns, water cannons at the roadside – Borussia Mönchengladbach fans were horrified when they arrived at the Basaksehir stadium. Bad-tempered and aggressive, the policemen welcomed the 1400 soccer fans to the Europa League match in Istanbul. What happened at the entrance was regarded by many as pure harassment. Especially ridiculous: flags with the Mönchengladbach city coat of arms were not allowed at the stadium. It shows the Holy Vitus – forbidden because it is a Christian symbol, according to the police. On Friday even Mönchengladbach’s Lord Mayor Hans Wilhelm Reiners intervened. What happened was “unacceptable”. He demanded “that UEFA, as the organiser of the Euro League, should not accept this unchallenged and that the host club should also distance itself from such action”. Meanwhile, UEFA wants to await the official match report. Gladbach’s managing director, Stephan Schippers, was also extremely annoyed by the way they treated the German fans: “The behaviour towards our fans was unimaginably disrespectful.”His manager Max Eberl even used the term “police dictatorship”. “It saddens me that we have such conditions in Europe in 2019,” he said. “Our fans wanted to celebrate peacefully,” And then they are harassed right from the start, have to travel by bus and are not allowed to move to the stadium like normal people.”

  2. India is Not ‘Inn’ for Illegal Infiltrators, Ruling BJP Reiterates (sputniknews, Oct 5, 2019)

“India’s ruling right-wing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has made it clear that all “illegal migrants” in the country will be identified.

BJP President and federal Home Minister Amit Shah had made it clear more than once that no infiltrators would be allowed in India.

“I promise not even one infiltrator will be allowed to remain in India”, he said in the eastern city of Kolkata earlier this month.

Reiterating his party Chief’s stand, Working President of the BJP Jagat Prakash Nadda said on Friday, 4 October, that the country is not a destination for illegal immigrants.

“In the time to come, we will make arrangements whereas no infiltrator will remain in our country. Infiltrators will go out, and India will give refuge to Hindus, Jains, Sikhs and Christians who were tortured outside. It is a country, not an inn”, he said in the steel city of Bokaro, in eastern Jharkhand state.

An exercise to identify “illegal migrants” in the northeastern state of Assam, ordered and monitored by the apex court of the country, found over 1.9 million residents without valid residential documents and hence absent on the National Register of Citizens or NRC.

They have been given 120 days to appeal before dozens of Foreigner Tribunals set up in the state. Assam faced large-scale public protests from 1979 to 1985 over illegal migrants, mostly from Bangladesh.

The process of weeding out “illegal migrants” has been on the BJP agenda. After the contentious exercise in Assam, several BJP-ruled states have carried out similar procedures, but haven’t made any official announcements so far.

The federal government has not come out with any plan of action to deal with the identified illegal migrants in Assam. BJP’s National General Secretary, in charge of the northeastern states, Ram Madhav, told Sputnik that those currently out of the NRC have judicial remedies if they are genuinely Indian citizens.

“In any situation, we will deal with this issue with an utmost humanitarian approach”, Madhav assured.”

  3. Turkey to Carry Out Military Air and Ground Op in Syria, East of the Euphrates – Erdogan (sputniknews, Oct 5, 2019)
    https://sputniknews.com/middleeast/201910051076969083-turkey-to-carry-out-military-air-and-ground-op-east-of-euphrates-in-syria-erdogan/

“Ankara previously vowed to establish a safe zone in Syria in order to conduct operations against Kurdish militants, which Turkish authorities consider to be terrorists.

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan said on Saturday that his country would carry out a military air and ground operation east of the Euphrates river in Syria.

“We’ve made our preparations, we’ve made our operation plans, given the necessary instructions”, the politician said, adding that Turkey would launch the ops “as soon as today or tomorrow”.

The news comes as Washington and Ankara are working together to establish a so-called safe zone in Syrian territories they control; however, Turkey repeatedly complained that the American side is stalling the process.

Erdogan announced the operation against the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) in January but postponed it after a phone conversation with US President Donald Trump.

According to Turkey, the Kurdish militants in Syria are part of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), which has fought to create Kurdish autonomy since the 1980s. In 2013, the PKK and Turkish authorities agreed on a ceasefire, but it collapsed two years later when Ankara blamed several attacks on the group.”

  5. Iran Unveils $1.8 Billion Project to Export Oil From Outside the Gulf Avoiding Strait of Hormuz (sputniknews, Oct 5, 2019)

“The pipeline will run from an oil terminal sitting deep in the Persian Gulf to a port on Iran’s southern coast – which means that Iranian tankers will not need to go through the Strait of Hormuz upon the project’s completion.

Iran is dishing out $1.8 billion to build a new pipeline to transport oil while bypassing the critical Strait of Hormuz.

Iran’s oil minister, Bijan Zangeneh, said this week that the country is building the 1,000-kilometre onshore pipeline from the Goreh oil terminal in southern Bushehr Province to the terminal at Jask, a port which sits east of the Strait of Hormuz in the Gulf of Oman.

Zangeneh said, as quoted by the oil ministry’s news agency, that $700 million out of that $1.8 billion will be earmarked for developing the Jask port.

He added that the pipeline project would “transform the region as various oil storage facilities, export jetties, wave breakers and single buoy mooring systems would be built in Jask”.

The plan will also see the construction of two refineries, with daily refining capacities of 300,000 and 150,000 barrels and petrochemicals facilities in the region.

Iran has been planning for years to set up a terminal outside the Persian Gulf, which would remove the need for its tankers to travel through the Strait of Hormuz and create a new export route for its crude…”

  6. Charlie Hebdo Boss Blasts Leftist ‘Collaborators’ in New Book on 2015 Terror Attack (breitbart, Oct 5, 2019)
    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2019/10/05/charlie-hebdo-boss-blasts-leftist-collaborators-new-book-2015-attack/

“The head of Charlie Hebdo has blasted leftists and others in a new book about the 2015 radical Islamic terror attack on the satirical French magazine’s office.

Laurent Sourisseau, more commonly known in France as Riss, tells the story of the terror attack in January 2015 that claimed the lives of 12 people, the majority his fellow Charlie Hebdo writers and cartoonists, France Inter reports.

While the book, titled One Minute Forty-Nine Seconds, describes the moments of the attack, part of the book also speaks out against the Islamic radicals who sought to silence the satirical magazine through violence.

Riss’s anger also targets those he terms “collabos” or collaborators. He includes several categories of people such as “the reactionary Muslims, the Trotsky-Stalinists, the cowards, the followers of secularism, the informers of Islamophobia”, as part of the collabos.

He also described the direct aftermath of the shooting as he saw the body of one of the victims saying: “He was a 25-year-old friend. To reach the exit, I had no alternative but to step over him. Assisted by the fireman, I resolved to this gesture that made me ashamed. I ask you a thousand times for forgiveness, my friend, but I could not do otherwise.”

In a prior interview with French magazine Le Point, Riss expressed little hope that anything has changed since 2015, saying: “If we republished the cartoons today, we would be alone again, the attack did not make people more courageous, on the contrary.”

Despite the attack, Charlie Hebdo has continued to satirise and lampoon anyone and everyone on the political scene in France and has received backlash several times, including death threats over a cover involving Muslim scholar Tariq Ramadan in 2017.

While the magazine does still take risks on its content, former Charlie Hebdo journalist Zineb El Rhazoui said in 2017 that the magazine had lost its edge and “gone soft”.”

  7. UK Court Rules Biblical Belief in Two Sexes ‘Incompatible with Human Dignity’ (breitbart, Oct 5, 2019)
    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2019/10/05/uk-court-rules-biblical-belief-in-two-sexes-incompatible-with-human-dignity/

“A British employment tribunal has ruled that a Christian doctor’s biblical understanding of sexuality and lack of belief in transgenderism is “incompatible with human dignity.”

After being fired from his job in 2018 for refusing to use pronouns that do not correspond to a person’s biological sex, disability assessor Dr David Mackereth filed a complaint against the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) for harassment and discrimination under the Equality Act.

In its decision this week, the panel declared that Dr Mackereth’s biblical belief that “God made humans male or female” was “incompatible with human dignity”.

The tribunal ruled explicitly on three positions taken by Dr Mackereth that made him unable in good conscience to address a person as if they were a member of the opposite sex.

The court referred to Mackereth’s “belief in Genesis 1:27,” a passage from the Bible that states: “So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them.”

Second, the court cited the doctor’s “lack of belief in transgenderism” since he refuses to accept that it is possible for a person to change their sex.

Finally, the tribunal referenced Mackereth’s “conscientious objection to transgenderism” and his belief that it would be irresponsible and dishonest for a health professional to accommodate and/or encourage a patient’s impersonation of the opposite sex.

The tribunal determined that Dr Mackereth’s three beliefs are not protected because they “are incompatible with human dignity and conflict with the fundamental rights of others, specifically here, transgender individuals.”

The ruling suggests that belief in “Genesis 1:27” along with a “lack of belief in transgenderism” are now sufficient grounds for punishment in the United Kingdom, in this case, loss of employment.

In response to the ruling, Dr Mackereth said he feels obliged to appeal.

“I believe that I have to appeal in order to fight for the freedom of Christians to speak the truth,” he said. “If they cannot, then freedom of speech has died in this country, with serious ramifications for the practise of medicine in the UK.”

“No doctor, or researcher, or philosopher, can demonstrate or prove that a person can change sex,” he added. “Without intellectual and moral integrity, medicine cannot function and my 30 years as a doctor are now considered irrelevant compared to the risk that someone else might be offended.””

  9. Gunmen abduct British, wife from southern Philippine resort (abcnews, Oct 5, 2019)
    https://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/gunmen-abduct-british-wife-southern-philippine-resort-66063516

“At least four gunmen abducted an elderly British man and his Filipino wife on Friday from their southern Philippine beach resort within sight of several people, police and military officials said.

Police Cpl. Jairus delos Reyes said the suspects, who were armed with pistols, took Allan Hyrons and his wife, Wilma, from a hut in their resort at nightfall and dragged them to a motorboat in Tukuran town in Zamboanga del Sur province. Several young men in a nearby bar witnessed the abduction.

Police are searching for the unidentified gunmen and the couple, who own two schools in addition to the resort in the coastal town, he said.

No group has claimed responsibility for the latest abduction in the south, where kidnappings for ransom by Muslim militants and other armed groups have long been a security concern and have discouraged tourism, trade and investment, especially in remote and poorly guarded rural areas.

Military offensives against ransom-seeking militant groups such as the Abu Sayyaf have reduced abductions in recent years, but they continue to occur.

Philippine authorities say they are also trying to verify the reported abductions of three Indonesian fishermen last week off Malaysia’s Sabah state on northern Borneo island near the sea border with the southern Philippines, where Abu Sayyaf gunmen have staged kidnappings in the past, sparking a regional security alarm.”

  10. WHY ARE THE MEDIA IGNORING THE JO SWINSON REVELATIONS
Our eagle-eyed Current Affairs Correspondent, Oliver Down exposed the other day that Jo Swinson’s Husband Duncan Hames works for an organisation called Transparancy International which is an ‘anti-corruption’ charity. It has received millions from the EU over the years. Now the team have also done a forensic analysis of their accounts and can reveal that they also receive money from ‘Open Society’ which is funded by none other than George Soros. They openly publish this on their website but the main issue we have is that surely Jo Swinson and her husband have a financial interest in staying in the EU.

  12. Hong Kong in Crisis: The Protesters’ Battle with Beijing & the Chinese Communist Party (??vs??)

    • One must admire their solidarity and resolve in their fight to preserve their freedom. It’s a David VS Goliath situation. I fear what’s to come next, drastic China intervention.

      • Maybe the fact that they haven’t sent in the troops yet says that they are worried about what will happen when they do. Watch the Real Vision Finance videos about the Chinese economy that I have been posting recently, they are saying that China is in massive economic trouble and are afraid of what will happen if more sanctions are placed on them. The reports are that the only liquid assets they have to sell to bring in some hard currency is the US Bonds and their store of precious metals. Selling the latter would touch of a major panic that their economy is about to crash. This leaves them with selling the US Bonds (usually at a loss) and using their agents to tell the world this is an act of defiance to the US.

In the video with the Chinese expat he says that within 2 years Xi will be out of power and probably killed. China will be pulling back and cracking down on internal dissent, and the new rulers will be leaving Hong Kong alone because they need it as a conduit for the western capital they need to remain a communist nation.

Others are saying somewhat similar things while many are saying China is going to collapse and we don’t know what form of government is going to re place the CCP.

The freedom fighters know what the Chinese Economy is like and what the internal pressures are inside China. They are taking the only chance they have to remain free, :

      • reuters – French prosecutor finds signs of radicalization in Paris knife attacker

PARIS (Reuters) – France’s anti-terrorism prosecutor said on Saturday an investigation had detected signs of “latent radicalization” in an attacker who knifed four co-workers to death at police headquarters in Paris this week.

The assailant, an IT worker at the headquarters, went on a rampage on Thursday, killing three police officers and an administrative worker, and wounding at least one other, before being shot dead by police.

Francois Ricard, the anti-terrorism prosecutor, said his office had taken over the probe because of signs the crime was premeditated and because of the nature of injuries found on at least one of the victims. The prosecutor also said that the attacker had stated a desire to die.

“The context of latent radicalization” and messages of exclusively religious character the attacker sent to his wife shortly before the crime were added factors, Ricard told a news conference.

The investigation also revealed contacts between the attacker and several individuals who are likely to belong to an Islamist Salafist movement, Ricard said.

The killer, 45, has been identified by officials only as Mickael H.

        ‘DEADLY JOURNEY’

Officials have not said explicitly there was a terrorism motive behind the attack, but handing a case to anti-terrorism prosecutors usually indicates a terrorism link is the focus of inquiries.

In response, the Prime Minister told weekly newspaper Le Journal du Dimanche he had ordered inspectors to review the procedures in place in the intelligence department of the police headquarters and anti-terror intelligence unit to detect signs of radicalization among civil servants.

Edouard Philippe also defended his interior minister Christophe Castaner who has come under attack from French opposition parties. The far-right National Rally and the center-right Les Republicains on Saturday called for parliament to launch an investigation into the minister.

Castaner said last Thursday that the attacker had exhibited no warning signs ahead of the deadly rampage.

“I am confident in Christophe Castaner, who expressed what he knew at the moment when he spoke,” Phillipe was quoted as saying on Saturday.

Ricard said that during a “deadly journey” the attacker first stabbed two police officers. A third police officer was killed in another office and an administrative worker died on the stairs.

The attacker was born on the French island of Martinique and had worked at the police headquarters for several years. He converted to Islam about 10 years ago, Ricard said.

  19. (Richard: Finally we are getting Judges who believe in the Constitution. The Constitution set up several layers of authority giving specific powers to each layer. The Federal Government has the power to protect the nation from Foreign Invasion, fight Rebellions, conduct Foreign Relations and Regulate Interstate Commerce. All other laws written by the US Government have to either affect interstate commerce or be to investigate and punish crimes that are cross border crimes or flight.

If you read the US Constitution and the Federalist Papers you will find that the powers given to the Federal Government are enumerated powers, it if isn’t specifically given to the Federal Government it is forbidden to the Federal Government. In the second half of the 20th Century the left got control of Congress and the Courts to the extent that they twisted the commerce clause to include anything they wanted to regulate. Because they got away with this for so long they have decided that they can ignore other things about the Constitution that they don’t like. The National Firearms Act of 1934 regulated the possession of full auto weapons, suppressors and short barrelled Shotguns. When challenged it was ruled unconstitutional by the lower courts but the people fighting this law didn’t show up for arguments at the Supreme Court and the Court said that based on the arguments they were presented with they had no choice but to declare and law Constitutional. The arguments was that the Second Amendment protected the militarily useful weapons only and not the ones that the NFA regulated. This is a laughable argumet but no one was there to oppose the gun control law.

Based on that decision (that the left has now twisted to say that civilians can’t own militarily useful weapons) the left has been trying to chip away at the Second Amendment. Their semi success on this and their twisting of the Commerce Clause the left thinks that they can now regulate our speech to forbid any speech they don’t like. The arguments in the article below are saying that people are realizing the danger and are fighting back. The Judges that President Trump is appointing are going to end up being the most important thing he does while he is in office, and the least appreciated thing he does.

Is everything ‘commerce’ that Congress can restrict?
By Hans Bader October 5, 2019

Is it constitutional for the Endangered Species Act to prohibit a property owner’s act of mistakenly stepping on one of a swarm of tiny spiders when there’s no evidence such an action has any impact on interstate commerce? The Cato Institute correctly says the answer is “no,” as lawyer Trevor Burris explains at this link.

The Founding Fathers intended that states — not the federal government — regulate things such as land use, refusing to give the federal government a general “police power” to regulate intrastate conduct. But despite this, the Supreme Court has allowed Congress to regulate a lot of land use decisions under the interstate commerce clause, which gives Congress the power “To regulate Commerce…among the several States.”

But even those decisions have tended to involve commercial land use, such as restrictions on mining. Stepping on a spider — or even eliminating its habitat — is not at all commercial the way mining is.

  20. Nothing to See Here: Police Stand by Officer Who Subdued Suspect via Headbutt on London Underground (breitbart, Oct 5, 2019)
    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2019/10/05/nothing-to-see-here-police-stand-by-officer-who-subdued-suspect-via-headbutt-on-london-underground/

“British police are standing by an off-duty officer who was filmed subduing a man suspected of theft, making threats, and carrying a knife on a crowded London Underground train by headbutting him to the floor.

The viral video footage shows a highly agitated man with a foreign accent loudly remonstrating with a tall white male — later revealed to be an off-duty police officer — thrusting his head towards him aggressively and appearing to jostle with him.

The officer brings the confrontation to a decisive end by delivering a resounding headbutt to the shouting man’s face, to cries of “Ooh!” following by approving laughter from onlooking passengers.

Despite often being accused of throwing frontline officers under the bus when they have to use force to subdue suspected criminals, it seems that senior police are on this occasion standing by their man, with the Metropolitan Police Force telling the Metro that they were “aware of social media footage showing an off-duty Met officer on a mainline train on the afternoon… [it] is a limited capture of the incident, which is believed to have lasted in excess of 20 minutes.”

The force added that its “Directorate of Professional Standards [has] reviewed the video and the details surrounding the incident and are satisfied that there is no indication that the officer committed a criminal offence, nor that he behaved in a manner that would justify disciplinary proceedings.”

The British Transport Police (BTP) have also defended the officer via their official Twitter account, telling one of the few respondents who did not approve of the officer’s use of force — a user with “#RevokeA50” and a European Union flag in their handle — that the suspected criminal “had been making violent threats to passengers and was in the process of being detained when he was headbutted,” and was subsequently “arrested at #Upminster for possessing an offensive weapon and theft”.

Reports indicate that the suspect was also arrested for making threats with intent to cause fear of unlawful violence.”

Speaking in Naples on Saturday, President Sergio Mattarella said “our lives proceed thanks to the daily actions of many unknown people who work for the state, in our communities, like the two officers murdered in Trieste.”

The officers were killed Friday afternoon when a man suspected of stealing a motor scooter grabbed a service pistol and shot the officers at close range inside the Trieste police station. The suspect and his brother, who was also being brought in for questioning, fled, but both were immediately apprehended.

It was not immediately clear how the suspect, from the Dominican Republic, was able to get the weapon.”

  24. Documents heighten scrutiny on Biden-Ukraine dealings, indicate Hunter may have made ‘millions’

A batch of newly released documents, including court filings as well as notes from interviews conducted by Rudy Giuliani, have put the spotlight back on Biden family dealings in Ukraine—even as House Democrats’ impeachment probe zeroes in on President Trump’s push to convince Kiev to investigate them.

And they’ve raised more questions about how much money Joe Biden’s son Hunter made while serving on the board of a Ukrainian natural gas firm at the center of the controversy, with one estimate putting the figure in the “millions.”

Among the documents, as Fox News reported Wednesday, are notes from an interview Trump attorney Giuliani conducted with fired Ukrainian prosecutor Viktor Shokin earlier this year, in which he claimed he was told by former U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Geoffrey R. Pyatt to back off an investigation involving that firm, Burisma Holdings, and its founder. According to interview notes, Shokin claimed Pyatt — currently the ambassador to Greece — told him to handle that investigation “with white gloves.”

  28. Sweden: Around 90 Per Cent of 2015 Migrants with Residency Status Are Unemployed (breitbart, Oct 5, 2019)
    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2019/10/05/sweden-90-percent-2015-migrants-residency-status-are-unemployed/

“Just under 90 per cent of the asylum seekers who came to Sweden at the height of the migrant crisis and have gained permanent residency are unemployed.

Of the 40,019 migrants with permanent residency status who are eligible to work, only 4,574 of them support themselves independently through working, according to Statistics Sweden’s integration database for health insurance and labour market studies (LISA).

A further 9,970 migrants receive money to study in Sweden, while another 18,405 are on municipal welfare programmes. Eight of the ten municipalities which took in the most migrants per population in 2015 also have unemployment rates far above the national average, Aftonbladet reports.

The municipality of Ljusnarsberg took in the most migrants per population, 230 per 1,000 people, and currently has an unemployment rate of over ten per cent.

Professor and economist Per Lundborg said the solution to the problem is to create more jobs that do not require large amounts of training or education.

“Sweden is one of the most high-tech countries in the world, where we streamline simpler jobs. Therefore, the knowledge gap is too large for many of the refugee immigrants who come here,” Lundborg noted.

“Sweden is a high-cost country. It is expensive to live here. If you then have a group that does not meet their living expenses through the work they do, they must still go to the society for help with their livelihood,” he added.

The figures come only days after the European Union statistics agency Eurostat revealed that Sweden was now 24th out of 28 member states in terms of unemployment.

Figures released last year showed a stark contrast between the native Swedish unemployment rate and the foreign-born unemployment rate. As a result, many municipalities which took in a high number of asylum seekers in 2015 have recently announced major financial troubles, some on the verge of bankruptcy.

Germany, which took in the most asylum seekers during the 2015 crisis, has seen similar problems getting migrants into work. A 2017 report claimed that the district of Salzlandkreis in Saxony-Anhalt had a migrant unemployment rate of 96.3 per cent.”

  29. Turkey: Ergodan Has Badly Overplayed His Hand in the Khashoggi Affair

    by Con Coughlin
    October 5, 2019 at 5:00 am

A year after the brutal murder of Saudi dissident Jamal Khashoggi, attempts by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to exploit the controversy to boost his own political standing have back-fired.

Ever since Mr Khashoggi was murdered moments after entering the Saudi Arabian consulate in Istanbul in October last year to obtain documentation for his forthcoming marriage, Mr Erdogan has skilfully exploited the incident to cause maximum embarrassment to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, whom he regards as one of his major regional rivals.

Ankara has been at loggerheads with Riyadh ever since the Muslim Brotherhood, a key ally of Mr Erdogan, came to power in Egypt in 2012, a move bitterly resisted by the Saudis, who regard the Brotherhood as a terrorist organisation.

Indeed, one of the reasons the Saudis targeted Mr Khashoggi in the first place was because of his close links with the Brotherhood, as well as his close relationship with Qatar, the Gulf state that is bitterly opposed to the Saudi royal family and is one of the Brotherhood’s most important backers.

Khashoggi’s gruesome fate was very much the consequence of this complex web of bitter regional rivalries between prominent Muslim leaders, so that when a team of Saudi assassins carried out their plot to silence Khashoggi’s high profile criticism of the Saudi regime — his columns regularly appeared in t

  32. Muslim Brotherhood Demands Kuwait to Stop Handing over its Members to Egypt (aawsat, Oct 5, 2019)
    https://aawsat.com/english/home/article/1932236/muslim-brotherhood-demands-kuwait-stop-handing-over-its-members-egypt

“The Muslim Brotherhood in Kuwait demanded on Friday local authorities to cease handing over its detained members to Egypt.

The party urged Kuwait to instead to allow the them to “safely depart Kuwait to any other country”.

The statement was issued days after Kuwait handed over to Cairo Khaled al-Mahdi, a member of the youth leadership in the Brotherhood. He has been sentenced to ten years in jail by Egypt for his involvement in violent acts and financing the group.

The Muslim Brotherhood is banned by Egypt and designated as a terrorist organization.

A security source told Asharq Al-Awsat that Brotherhood fugitives wanted by Egypt and residing in Kuwait are handed over to Cairo based on an agreement signed by the two countries.

Mahdi, he revealed, attempted to recruit Egyptian expatriates in Kuwait and to set up electronic militias in the Gulf country in order to attack Egypt.

In a statement on Friday, the Brotherhood acknowledged the existence of its cell in Kuwait.

It was arrested by authorities and its members turned over to Egypt.

The statement said the detainees were members of the Brotherhood and that they had verdicts issued against them by Egypt. Kuwait has the right to determine their fate.

It accused Kuwait of abandoning the policy of neutrality on divisive regional issues, claimed the statement.

Moreover, it alleged that the Brotherhood was an “important part of the Kuwaiti political scene.””

  33. IRAN – People Infected With HIV In A Region Of Iran Attack Government Buildings

Enraged people in a village in southwest Iran stormed the Friday Prayer Imam’s office, set it on fire, and attacked the Governor’s building.

At least 300 people, including children, are believed to have been infected with HIV in the province by a medical assistant using a contaminated syringe, furious people say.

Based on the latest reports, protesters burned the health network facilities on Saturday, October 5. Local health clinics are run by the country’s health ministry.

People in the village of Chenar Mahmoud in the town of Lordegan, Chahar Mahal & Bakhtiari, maintain that their loved ones contracted HIV from contaminated needles used by the village’s health organization to test for diabetes two months ago.

The outbreak has also affected residents of the neighboring villages.

However, the local health authorities dismiss the allegation, pointing out that cases of HIV had been detected in the village weeks before the diabetes tests.

Footages circulated on social media show protesters chanting anti-Islamic Republic slogans.

Meanwhile, the state-run Mehr news agency (MNA) reported that dozens of the villagers in Chenar Mahmoud assembled on Saturday outside the Governor’s office in Lordegan, demanding the judiciary to investigate the case.

“A limited number of ‘opportunists’ attempted to create disruption and sedition outside the Governor’s building, but failed,” MNA reported.

The protests initiated last Wednesday have gained momentum, and the security forces used tear gas to disperse angry people.

“The people of Chenar Mahmoud are scared,” one villager told Iran Human Rights Monitor (IHRM), adding, “Many refrain from taking blood tests out of fear of finding out they have been infected. Every family of two or three has become inflicted with the virus. Anyone who has taken the test has turned out to be positive. And no one asks this regime, why do you need to test a nine-year-old kid for cholesterol and blood sugar and infect them with AIDS.”

In the meantime, a member of parliament’s Health Commission, Behrouz Bonyadi, said on Saturday that the commission is sending a delegation along with several other lawmakers to Lordegan to investigate the case.

Furthermore, in a letter to the Minister of Justice, the Islamic Republic Minister of Health has insisted that HIV was detected in the village “a long time ago,” but kept secret to respect the villagers’ honor.

“The source of HIV outbreak was contaminated syringes used by drug addicts, as well as people who have ‘unacceptable relations,’ the Minister, Saeed Namaki asserted, adding, “We are going to treat people with HIV for free.”

But this assertion by the minister is bound to further anger the affected people and their relatives.

    https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2019/10/284068/us-5-million-bounty-head-former-polisario-member/

“The US State Department has put a $5 million price on the head of a former Polisario armed unit ringleader for his involvement in the death of four American soldiers, a statement from the US State Department has confirmed.

The statement comes as the US seeks justice for the October 4 2017 Tongo Tongo terrorist ambush. The ambush resulted in the death of four American and four Nigerien soldiers who were patrolling the Nigerian village as part of the US’ counterterrorism efforts in Niger and the Sahel region in general.

The US Department of State’s announcement of the $5 million bounty is part of its “Rewards for Justice” program designed for capturing and convicting terrorists. The release says the $5 million bounty is for any information that could lead to “the arrest or conviction in any country of any individual who bears responsibility” for the Tongo Tongo ambush.

Meanwhile, the US is specifically putting $5 million additionally on the head of Adnan Abu Walid al-Sahrawi, most commonly known as Abu Walid.

A former Polisario Front-affiliated “soldier” who led a unit of the separatist front’s Sahrawi People’s Liberation Army prior to pledging allegiance to Al-Qaeda and then to ISIS in May 2015.
