2. Pope Francis Inaugurates Massive Migrant Sculpture in Saint Peter’s Square

Amazingly dishonest representation of the facts

ROME — Pope Francis unveiled a massive bronze sculpture depicting 140 migrants in Saint Peter’s Square in the Vatican Sunday, the first sculpture to be installed in the piazza in over 400 years.

The 20-foot tall, 3.5-ton bronze sculpture was created by Canadian artist Timothy Schmalz at the behest of the Vatican’s office for Migrants and Refugees, after impressing the pope with his sculpture “Homeless Jesus” in November 2013.

 

The migrant sculpture bears the title “Angels Unaware” in reference to the biblical passagefrom the Letter to the Hebrews: “Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.”

3. A gang of North African youths from Algeria robbed an Italian Senator of the Five Star Movement (M5S) along with a judge at Rome’s central Termini railway station.

Senator Gabriele Lanzi and the judge were robbed by three Algerian men, with the judge having his briefcase stolen, shortly after finishing his lunch at a restaurant near the station, Il Giornale reports.

 

A short time after the first robbery, Senator Lanzi was attempting to find a taxi when he was approached by the migrant youths who districted him and stole his bag which contained a laptop, an iPad and various documents.

4. Elizabeth May Wants Canada To Bring In “Tens Of Thousands” Of ‘Climate Refugees’

Elizabeth May wants Canada to bring in tens of thousands of “climate refugees.”

Speaking to CTV News, May said “We have right now, depopulated areas across the country. We can build up infrastructure by 2030 and 2040 to accept far more people in regions, for instance in the Prairies, where there are depopulated places, in Atlantic Canada, and northern Quebec.”

Notably, May is basing her refugee numbers on United Nations claims that there will be 200 million ‘climate refugees’ by 2050.

“One of the points Greens make is we have to prepare,” said May. “By geography, we’re one of the biggest countries in the world, by population one of the smaller. We have an obligation; we’ve been one of the biggest polluters.”

Of course, May is wrong when she calls Canada one of the biggest polluters, as we are in fact on of the smallest polluters in the world. May also ignores that Canada is a cold weather country where long road trips are essential both for people visiting families and for commerce across the nation.

(May also doesn’t acknowledge that CO2 is not a pollutant, and even if it was, Canadian landscapes and waters absorb 2.5X what we Canadians produce in CO2 emissions)

6. Pakistan Breaches Ceasefire Along the Line of Control – Indian Media

Tensions between India and Pakistan have intensified in recent months, with both nations exchanging fire along the Line of Control in Kashmir. Both parties blame each other for violations of the armistice.

 

Pakistan has breached the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Mendhar and Balakot sectors of the Mendhar subdivision in Poonch district, Asian News International wrote on its Twitter page.

 

Troops from both countries have engaged in heavy mortar shelling and gunfire. There were no immediate reports of casualties, Indian daily Amar Ujala reported, quoting sources speaking on condition of anonymity.

Sunday’s fresh ceasefire violation was the fourth such violation in the last week.

On Saturday, a ceasefire violation occurred in the Kearni sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district, a media report said.

  6. How appropriate that the 3.5 ton bronze virtue signal should be by an artist named “Schmalz.” For those unfamiliar with the usage, “schmalz” is rendered chicken or goose fat used for cooking or as a spread on bread. In popular usage, it means excessive or unnecessary sentimentality.

  9. 5 – The man making on the video needs to learn that antifa is composed of modern Nazi’s his statements denying this and attacking those who know this to be fact are throwing a lot of problems on the rest of what he says. I personally think he is right about the rest but his attack on his natural allies is hurting the cause.

    Not knowing the difference between a migrant who wants something, and a refugee who needs something.

    The Pope wants something.

    • A migrant is someone who willingly leaves their country in order to seek employment and better living conditions. A refugee is someone who has been forced to leave their country due to war, persecution or natural disasters. You wanna know what the Pope wants? A safe place for them all to live.

Do you honestly think the Pope is acting on behalf of criminals trying to gain entry into another country? Or that he condones the behavior you depicted? He worries for those who are truly in need of shelter from the storm that has become their world. Blog responsibly.

    • There is no comparison between Jewish people fleeing National Socialist extermination, and people illegally entering countries to take advantage of systems they created for themselves. Immigration is simply not the same as refugees. If they want to migrate to a better country, apply to move there like honest people do and see if they make the cut. I notice the Pope doesnt seem to anxious to have any of the muslim migrants live in the Vatican. The dozen he symbolically brought in were then brought right out from the reports I have read.
