Daily Links Post graphic

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  1. Muslim Brotherhood Trying to Organise Mass Protests in Egypt – Reports (sputniknews, Sep 21, 2019)
    https://sputniknews.com/middleeast/201909211076855886-muslim-brotherhood-trying-to-organise-mass-protests-in-egypt–reports/

“The Muslim Brotherhood* Islamist movement is trying to stage mass protests across Egypt, national media reported.

The MBC Masr broadcaster issued on Friday a video, which showed one of the Muslim Brotherhood leaders calling on supporters to gather near their houses and then fill the cities’ squares.

The Interior Ministry has reportedly detained a son of jailed senior Muslim Brotherhood member Saad Katatni over his attempt to organize an unauthorized rally.

The Muslim Brotherhood is disseminating videos with huge rallies, which allegedly take place across the country, but national media report that the Islamists are using materials on past events. A Sputnik correspondent reported that there were no signs of protests at the main Cairo square of Tahrir. At the same time, security measures in the Egyptian capital have been boosted.

In 2012, the Muslim Brotherhood managed to use the uncertain political situation in Egypt following the toppling of ex-President Hosni Mubarak in 2011, by nominating its member Mohamed Morsi for the presidential election, which he won in June of the same year. In July 2013, amid a wave of popular discontent, caused by the leadership of the Muslim Brotherhood movement, Morsi was removed from power. The new authorities launched a crackdown on the movement.

The Muslim Brotherhood, founded in 1929, is an international Islamist organization that has branches in about 70 countries and seeks the Islamization of society.

    * The Muslim Brotherhood (sometimes referred to as the Society of the Muslim Brothers) is an extremist organisation banned in Russia and some other countries.”

  2. Swedish Green Party Demand Migrants Get to Skip Housing Queue (breitbart, Sep 21, 2019)
    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2019/09/21/swedish-green-party-demand-migrants-get-to-skip-housing-queue/

“As 2,700 migrants face expiration on their “transition apartments” the Green Party in Gothenburg has demanded they be allowed to live in their residences permanently.

The Swedish Real Estate Agency has warned in a new report that migrants could become homeless as their four-year housing contracts expire in the next few years, leading the Greens to demand that they be given so-called “first-hand contracts” for permanent housing, Nyheter Idag reports.

Emmali Jansson is one of the Gothenburg Greens supportive of the idea and argued it would help new migrants integrate if they were able to live in the same area.

“We think people should be able to stay there. We believe it is good for those who live, but also for society at large, better for integration,” Jansson said.

“Here is someone who has lived here for four years, they have been able to create a network, with neighbours, school and friends. Then the big problem is that there is no housing for everyone in general,” Jansson added.

Elisabet Lann of the conservative-leaning Christian Democrats said that the apartments are needed for new incoming migrants but noted that exceptions could be made for families with children.

“A general extension I think will be very difficult because we do not have the housing in the city. Many people need housing,” she said.

Housing shortages have become a major issue across Sweden in recent years and Gothenburg is not the only city or municipality to prioritize or propose prioritizing migrants over native Swedes for housing.

A report released in June of this year by the Swedish National Board of Housing, Building, and Planning revealed that half of the local governments across the country gave migrants priority.

Sweden’s capital of Stockholm reached a new record for lack of housing last December with 636,000 people on the housing waiting list but just 85 properties available.”

“Any country that attacks Iran will be the “main battlefield”, the head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Major General Hossein Salami, said.

…”Be careful, a limited aggression will not remain limited. We are after punishment and we will continue until the full destruction of any aggressor,” Salami said in remarks broadcast on state TV on Saturday.

He also reiterated Iranian President Hassan Rouhani’s warning that the Iranian military would down all drones violating the country’s airspace…”

    https://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/albanian-ship-rescues-111-migrants-aegean-sea-65767066

“Albania’s Defense Ministry says one of its ships in the Aegean Sea has rescued 111 migrants trying to cross into Greece, and has handed them over to Turkish authorities.

Defense Minister Olta Xhacka on Saturday wrote on her Facebook page that the Syrian, Iraqi and Palestinian migrants were “rescued in three different operations within a few hours in the waters between Turkey and Greece.”

She added the migrants were found late Friday evening by the Oriku ship, part of Frontex, the European Union’s border control force, in two speedboats and a small boat. They were handed over to the Turkish Coast guard.”

  5. At least 57 arrested in Kazakh anti-government protests (abcnews, Sep 21, 2019)
    https://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/57-arrested-kazakh-anti-government-protests-65766887

“Authorities in Kazakhstan have detained 57 protesters taking part in unsanctioned rallies organized by an opposition movement banned by the government.

Videos posted on social media suggested the turnout was small — perhaps a few hundred demonstrators — and police vastly outnumbered those who took part in the rally.

Arrests appeared to be indiscriminate. One video showed police detaining a mother and her three children as they made their way to a shop.

At least 50 people were arrested in the run-up to Saturday’s protest as the government seeks to clamp down on dissent.

The rallies were organized by Kazakhstan’s Democratic Choice, outlawed as an extremist group.

Its leader, fugitive oligarch Mukhtar Ablyazov, lives in France and is wanted in Kazakhstan, Russia and Ukraine for alleged embezzlement of $5 billion.”

  6. Swedish No-Go Zone Police Say Criminals ‘Laugh at Our Laws’ (breitbart, Sep 21, 2019)
    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2019/09/21/swedish-no-go-zone-police-say-criminals-laugh-our-laws/

“Police working in the notorious no-go Stockholm suburb of Rinkeby have decried the situation in the area, claiming criminals laugh at Swedish laws.

Hanif Azizi, a member of the regional police in Rinkeby, expressed his frustration with the situation in the suburb, which has become notorious for its riots and high levels of crime, Swedish broadcaster SVT reports.

He told the broadcaster: “If you have worked for a long time to prosecute people and see that there are no consequences, that the criminals even laugh at us. It is frustrating.”

Policing the area, which also has a high population of migrants and those with migration backgrounds, has been difficult for the local police officers in the past, with officers requiring to be driven to and from the Rinkeby police station due to safety concerns.

Christoffer Ersenius, local union president of the police district of Rinkeby, commented on the issue in 2017, saying: “There is concern among the staff about working in a police station in Rinkeby. We understand this concern, especially when it is about how to safely travel to and from their workplace in Rinkeby.”

The government had already begun construction on a new police station that year, although they had a hard time finding contractors due to safety concerns.

That station was then attacked the following year when several masked men drove a car onto the site before setting the car on fire and attacking a security guard with rocks and fireworks. The attack was believed at the time to have been possibly related to a prior drug bust in the area.

Then-Swedish Chief Prosecutor Lise Tamm labelled Rinkeby as being like “a war zone” in late 2017, stating: “Rinkeby is almost like a war zone. When the police work there, they work as the armed forces would have done.””

  7. A brawl between Christians and Muslims in the Turkish dominated Marxloh district of Duisburg, Germany+++
200 onlookers gathered in the Marxloh district of Duisburg after two groups fought each other. A pregnant woman was injured.
It only took a few moments after the first emergency calls were received by the Duisburg police, when a large number of police officers made their way to one of Duisburg’s most famous intersections. At the Pollmann-Eck in Marxloh, several men of Iraqi and Lebanese origin fought a fierce brawl, it was said late Thursday afternoon. Apparently, there were also religious differences. The police were temporarily confronted with up to 200 onlookers.

  8. U.S. to deploy military forces to Saudi Arabia, UAE after drone attacks on oil sites
“The president has approved the deployment of U.S. forces which will be defensive in nature,” Secretary of Defense Mark Esper said Friday.

The United States is deploying military forces to the Middle East after Saturday’s drone attacks on major oil sites in Saudi Arabia that the administration of President Donald Trump has blamed on Iran.

“The president has approved the deployment of U.S. forces which will be defensive in nature and primarily focused on air and missile defense,” U.S. Secretary of Defense Mark Esper said at a news conference Friday.

Answering reporters’ questions about the deployment, Gen. Joseph F. Dunford Jr., chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, described the troop deployment as “modest” and “not thousands.”

Dunford said he planned to confer with U.S. Central Command and Saudi officials to work out details of the deployment, which he said would be announced next week.

  9. Democratic donor Ed Buck paid at least 10 men to use drugs for his own pleasure, prosecutors say

In political circles, Ed Buck was best known as a wealthy donor who championed animal rights and LGBTQ causes, dumping more than half a million dollars into the coffers of Democratic candidates running for school boards, Senate seats and spots on the West Hollywood City Council.

In West Hollywood’s Plummer Park, less than a mile from Buck’s home, homeless men in desperate circumstances had a much simpler frame of reference for the 65-year-old.

    They called him “Dr. Kevorkian.”

A 22-page federal criminal complaint unsealed Thursday painted a depraved picture of how Buck earned his grim sobriquet. Ten men told investigators that Buck had paid them to use drugs and dress up in skimpy underwear for his own sexual pleasure. Several of the men claimed they lost consciousness after Buck served them a drink, and some said they woke up to the sight of him injecting drugs into their arms against their will, according to the complaint.

  10. Chinese journalists to be tested on loyalty to Xi Jinping

Exam will test journalists on president’s teachings on socialism and propaganda

Chinese journalists will soon be required to pass a test grading their understanding of Xi Jinping Thought, the socialist teachings espoused by the country’s leader.

A notice from China’s media regulator has been sent to more than a dozen state-owned news organisations in Beijing over the last month. It instructs employees to prepare to take an exam on the “study Xi” propaganda app, launched earlier this year, in order to have their press credential renewed.

Most believe the regulation will soon apply to Chinese reporters across the country. Journalists from three media organisations, two of which were outside Beijing, told the Guardian their publications had also received informal notices to register on the app.

HONG KONG (Reuters) – Hong Kong police fired tear gas to disperse pro-democracy protesters on Saturday after pro-China groups pulled down some of the “Lennon Walls” of anti-government messages posted in the Chinese-ruled city in more than three months of unrest.

The first volley was fired when protesters hurled two petrol bombs toward an approaching police line.

  12. French police tussle with ‘yellow vests’ in Paris

PARIS (Reuters) – French police fired tear gas and made dozens of arrests on Saturday as they dispersed groups of “yellow vest” protesters attempting to stage unauthorized rallies in central Paris.

The government deployed a massive police presence as it feared yellow-vest supporters would take advantage of authorized protests over climate change and pension reform to cause disruption in the French capital.

Police had made 90 arrests in Paris by around midday local time (1000 GMT) and pushed back around one hundred protesters attempting to gather on the Champs-Elysees shopping avenue, the Paris police prefecture said.

  16. Ocasio-Cortez trying to prevent new jobs from coming into her district … again
By Jeff Dunetz September 20, 2019
According to a poll conducted in June, first-term Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has a 22% approval rating among members of her congressional district, many of whom are still bitter about her costing the community 25,000 new jobs by helping to quash a deal with Amazon.

Demonstrating that she learns nothing from her mistakes, the freshman congresswoman is at it again. This time she is fighting to block Total Wines & More, a giant alcohol retail chain from opening a store in her district, the Queens, N.Y. neighborhood of College Point.

The retailer, Total Wine & More, operates 199 superstores across 23 states and employs approximately 4,000 people. According to its website, it carries 8,000 varieties of wine, 3,000 kinds of spirits, and 2,500 brands of beer. The Queens location will be the first in New York City and will probably attract consumers (and tax dollars!) from a broad area — unless the job-killing Ocasio-Cortez gets her way.

Facebook banned Loomer’s account from their platform during a purge of popular conservative voices that happened in May. 19. Viktor Orbán to visit Rome

    September 20, 2019 10:15 AM

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán will give a speech at the right-wing Atreju event in Rome on Sunday at the invitation of the leader of the Fratelli d’Italia (Brothers of Italy, FdI) party Giorgia Meloni.

According to the Prime Minister’s press chief, Bertalan Havasi, Mr. Orbán has been asked to hold a lecture on the topic ‘The Europe of People and Nations’, which will be followed by questions from the audience.

The Chairman of Fidesz will also be holding separate talks with the FdI leader while in Rome, Mr. Bertalan stated.

Atreju was established in 1998 as a nationwide political and cultural meeting of the, since disbanded, youth organisation of the Fratelli d’Italia party, and has been held every year since then in a different district of Rome.

    ========================================================

“Earlier this week, the US announced that it would be sending some forces to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates following drone attacks on Saudi Aramco oil fields on 14 September.

Saudi minister of state for foreign affairs Adel al-Jubeir said during a press conference that Riyadh will take ‘necessary steps’ to respond to Saudi Aramco oil attacks if a Saudi investigation proves that Iran is responsible for the incident.

“The kingdom will take the appropriate measures based on the results of the investigation, to ensure its security and stability,” Jubeir told a news conference.

“We are certain that the launch did not come from Yemen, it came from the north. The investigations will prove that,” the minister added.

According to al-Jubeir, the preliminary results of the investigation show that “Iranian weapons” were used during the attacks. The minister added that Saudi Arabia has been holding consultations with its allies and friends to decide the next steps and has been expecting the results of an investigation.

“The kingdom calls upon the international community to assume its responsibility in condemning those that stand behind this act, and to take a firm and clear position against this reckless behaviour that threatens the global economy,” he said….”

  21. Greek police arrest man accused of brutal killing of US Navy diver whose body was dumped on Beirut airport tarmac during 17-day hijacking of TWA flight 847 in 1985 (dailymail, Sep 21, 2019)

“A Lebanese man accused of involvement in the hijacking of a TWA plane and the murder of a US navy diver has been arrested in Greece, police said on Saturday.

The 65-year-old was spotted by policemen in the island of Mykonos and detained on Thursday, a statement said.

Greek authorities said there was a European arrest warrant issued by Germany for the hijacking as well as a kidnapping committed in 1987.

Greek media said he was involved in June 14, 1985 hijacking of TWA Flight 847 and the murder of an American passenger.

The plane was travelling from Cairo to San Diego with stops in Athens, Rome, Boston, and Los Angeles. It was hijacked after it took off from Athens.

Over a horrific 17 days, TWA pilot John Testrake was forced to crisscross the Mediterranean with his 153 passengers and crew members, from Beirut to Algiers and back again, landing in Beirut three times before he was finally allowed to stop.

On June 15, 1985 during the first stop in Beirut, 23-year-old US navy diver Robert Stethem was severely beaten, shot point blank in the head and thrown onto the tarmac of Beirut airport.

According to Athens News Agency, the man was arrested during a passport check of cruise ship passengers.

On Friday, he appeared before the prosecutor who ordered his arrest and detention until his extradition to Germany.

Greek media said the man had been arrested in Germany two years after the hijacking but was later exchanged with two Germans who were abducted in Beirut. He has remained a fugitive ever since…”

  24. Gregg Jarrett: It Appears the ‘Whistleblower’ is Just an American Spy in Our Intel Agency Spying on President Trump

Fox News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett said Friday in a Fox op-ed that the Deep State whistleblower who penned a complaint against Trump may not be a whistleblower at all — it appears he is an American spy in our Intel Agency spying on President Trump.

This new Deep State hit began effervescing last week when House Intel Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) subpoenaed Acting DNI Joseph Maguire and accused him of illegally withholding a whistleblower complaint from Congress that could potentially be ‘covering up the president’s misconduct’ over a phone call he had with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Gregg Jarrett questioned the Deep State snitch’s whistleblower status and suggested he may just be an American spy in our intel agency who is spying on our own President.

“To put this in plain language, a spy who allegedly spied on the president does not have a legitimate whistleblower complaint against that president under the law. The ICWPA is a mechanism to report alleged misconduct by members within the intelligence community, of which the president is not,” Gregg Jarrett argued.

The identity of the Deep State ‘whistleblower’ still has not been released to the public, however Trump revealed he is a ‘highly partisan’ individual.

Gregg Jarrett pointed out the five following facts:

Richard: This is an Obama holdover who was listening to the conversation and who has decided (possibly after consulting with high ranking Dems) to make a preemptive strike to try and deflect the corruption and bribery charges against Biden, his son and Kerry’s step-son. We may have enough leverage to get the Bidens charged because of their actions in Ukraine, we know that we will not get any Chinese help in the investigation of the same crew taking $1 Billion + bribe from China. The Dems are desperate to stop this investigation, if they don’t Biden’s actions will cast a lot of well justified dirt on the Obama administration and the Propaganda Media. It also adds more reasons for people to not vote Dem.

The war with the Deep State continues while China and their allies continue to raise hell around the world.

  25. Pelosi Calls For New Laws So Sitting PreAt nearly 80 years old, Nancy Pelosi is a corrupt, career politician and poster-child for term limits.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said in an interview with NPR on Friday that Congress should change the law so a sitting president can be indicted.

“I do think that we will have to pass some laws that will have clarity for future presidents. [A] president should be indicted, if he’s committed a wrongdoing — any president. There is nothing anyplace that says the president should not be indicted,” Pelosi told NPR on Friday. “That’s something cooked up by the president’s lawyers. That’s what that is. But so that people will feel ‘OK, well, if he — if he does something wrong, [he] should be able to be indicted.’”

Pelosi, who refuses to accept the results of the 2016 presidential election, attacked Trump and accused him of abusing the Constitution.

“The Founders could never suspect that a president would be so abusive of the Constitution of the United States, that the separation of powers would be irrelevant to him and that he would continue, any president would continue, to withhold facts from the Congress, which are part of the constitutional right of inquiry,” Pelosi said.

Pelosi also said that the legislative branch should have even more power and should be able to limit when a president can invoke a national emergency.sidents Can Be Indicted

Richard: The Dems are determined to bring Third World politics to the US, they want to force the Repubs to refuse to vote on this new law so they can attack the Repubs as corrupt. They also think that if this law does get on the books their willing allies in the News Media will help quash any indictment of a Dem but publicize the many false charges they (the Dems) will bring against any and every Repub that is elected.

The Dems are doing all of the damage they can to the rule of law and are going to continue to do this. The law suite against Trump by the Mexican Protesters are part of the efforts of the left to destroy the US. They (the Dems) are working to create so much chaos in the US that we will become ungovernable, they think that this will allow them and their militias to take over the nation. The big mistake they are making is that they are ignoring the vast majority of people in fly over country, while there are a lot of Dems in this region most are patriots who don’t agree with the new leaders of the Dem Party. They (the people) are saying that they aren’t leaving the Dem party but that the Dem Party is leaving them. The arrogance of the left leads them to believe their own propaganda and think they are stronger, much stronger, then they really are.

With reasonable men, I will reason; with humane men I will plead; but to tyrants I will give no quarter, nor waste arguments where they will certainly be lost.

    William Lloyd Garrison

I believe this quote describes the current situtation very well, the Dems are tyrants who are not open to reason or the pleadings of humane men. They are wanna be dictators who must be resisted if freedom is to survive.

  26. )Richard: If this man is right [his theory fits the factrs] Preident DJT has once again played the media and the Dems like a fiddle. Tim Poole keeps saying this about a lot of things that DJT does, that he is creating some type of kerfuffle to distract the Dems and media while he goes ahead with a policy they hate. In this case it looks like the gave them the hope of a gun control victory knowing the courts will strike it down.

Full confession, I have never owned a bump stock and don’t want to own one. Full auto is useful in very limited circumstances and in most of them a shotgun will do the same thing. Having said that I will state that in my opinion all of the gun control laws including the outlawing of full autos, sawed off shotguns and suppressors are illegal under the Second Amendment.

ATF Admits It Lacked Regulatory Authority to Ban Bump Stocks

You know that bump stock ban that the Trump administration imposed upon Americans? As I’ve written before, I suspect the President knew the regulatory reclassification of these obscure accessories lacked enforceability in court. And now, sure enough, the ATF has admitted in court filings that it lacked the authority to ban bump stocks in the way it did.

In “Boch: Democrats’ Universal Background Check Bill is DOA in Congress,” I wrote about the bump stock ban:

Oh yes, earlier this year President Trump directed government bureaucracies to “ban” bump stocks. That ban made a lot of Democrats, gun control advocates and the mainstream media piddle themselves with excitement. It also upset a lot of gun rights supporters.

The Firearms Policy Coalition and Gun Owners of America wasted no time filing well-argued lawsuits. The courts may well sack the ban even before it takes effect a few months from now.

And I fully believe President DJT has no problem with that. Here’s the thing: Trump likely expects this extra-legal ban to go down in flames via the courts. Ever the master negotiator, Trump merely gave the media yap dogs and Dems a big, fat red herring – and they swallowed it whole.

And when the courts strike down the ATF’s regulatory over-reach, Trump can then shrug his shoulders and say he tried. And then continue with his agenda of jobs and America first without breaking his stride. Once again, he’s playing Democrats and the mainstream media hacks for fools.

Why would any sane person listen to someone with a 0-41 record? And if that’s not crazy enough, the latest ploy is to trot out a 16-year-old girl to spread prediction number 42, because it is so much more credible that way. 28. US Adversaries: Nothing to Fear from the White House?

    by Con Coughlin
    September 21, 2019 at 5:00 am

    https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/14902/us-adversaries-nothing-to-fear-from-the-white

For all US President Donald Trump’s bluster that the US military is “locked and loaded”, the reality is that the White House has absolutely no interest in launching military action against Iran in retaliation for its involvement in the devastating attack on Saudi Arabia’s oil infrastructure. It is a decision doubtless not lost on Iran.

On the contrary, for all Mr. Trump’s machismo posturing, the most the President can be expected to do is intensify the sanctions regime against Tehran, a move that is unlikely to strike fear into the hearts of Iran’s battle-hardened veterans of its Revolutionary Guard.

Indeed, the President’s disinclination to confront Iran over its increasingly aggressive conduct towards the US and its allies in the region appears only to have emboldened the ayatollahs to even greater acts of provocation, such as last weekend’s attacks on Saudi Arabia’s Khurais oil field and the Abqaiq oil processing facility, which resulted in the Saudis losing nearly 50 per cent of the country’s oil processing capacity and for a while sparked a sharp jump in oil prices.

As senior Saudi officials said in the aftermath of the most significant attack Saudi has suffered since the First Gulf War, when Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein fired a barrage of Scud missiles at his Saudi neighbours, the attack was not just an attack against the Saudi kingdom, but against the entire global economy.

Richard: I agree with a lot of what he is saying but also realize that Trump has to shape his response with his internal enemies in mind. He can survive the uproar from one or more Iranian attacks on Saudi and other allies in the Gulf region but with the election next year surviving an escalating war in the Gulf is a horse of a different color.

Personally I think that Trump knows that his actions are going to cause our external enemies to step up their provocations until he has no choice but use overwhelming military force. Right now using overwhelming force (the only rational way to go) would give the Dems way too much propaganda material. Responding with a response that is of roughly the same level of violence would also give the Dems propaganda material and would give Iran an excuse to increase the violence by claiming they were the ones that were attacked. In a rational world we would be able to fill the Iranian skies with bombers and take out a lot of their military and research infrastructure. We don’t live in a rational world, we live in one our leftist enemies have build. This means we have to wait until the provocation is so open that the Dems won’t be believed when they scream about Trump breaking a promise and starting a war.

  31. Car rams into mosque in France, driver arrested with stab wound (PHOTOS, VIDEOS)

A car has slammed into a mosque in the eastern French city of Colmar. The driver has been detained by police after receiving a stab wound. It remains unclear whether the ramming was an attack or a suicide attempt.

An automobile has crashed into the Grand Mosque of Colmar late on Saturday, damaging its gate and doorway. The vehicle failed to penetrate the building, getting stuck in the doorway, footage from the scene indicates.

The incident triggered a major police response and the area was cordoned off. The driver of the vehicle was apprehended and brought to a hospital with a stab wound to his neck, local media reported. It was not immediately clear if the wound was self-inflicted or if someone else attacked the driver.

Video footage, purporting to be from the scene and showing a bloodied and motionless driver getting arrested inside the mosque by two police officers, has emerged on social media.

“An individual crashed his vehicle into the entrance to the Grand Mosque shortly before 8 pm,” the local administration told AFP, adding that a probe into the incident has been launched. Nobody other than the driver was injured and that man had swiftly received “medical assistance,” the officials confirmed.
