Global News has obtained video showing Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau in blackface, the third instance of racist dress to come to light in 12 hours.
It’s not clear when or where the video was taken, but the video, obtained exclusively by Global News, shows Trudeau covered in what appears to be dark makeup and raising his hands in the air while laughing, sticking his tongue out and making faces.
He’s wearing a white T-shirt, and his jeans are ripped at the knees.
It appears as though his arms and legs are covered in makeup as well.
It does not appear the video was shot at the same time and place of the other photos of Trudeau in racist make-up that have emerged in the past 24 hours.

Bombshell revelations that Liberal Party leader Justin Trudeau dressed up in a racist brownface costume when he was a 29-year-old teacher at an elite private school have not only shaken up the 2019 federal election.
It’s also the top news story in the entire world.
A new analysis of global social media traffic by PressProgress shows the top two most shared news stories in the entire world Wednesday night and Thursday morning were related to a photo that Trudeau confirms shows him “dressed up in an Aladdin costume” with brown “makeup on” — something he admits was “racist.”
The number one most shared news article in the entire world is a CBC News article titled “Trudeau appeared in brownface and turban at Arabian Nights-themed gala in 2001: Time.”
Between 7 pm EST Wednesday when the story broke and 7 am Thursday morning, that one article alone has amassed over 167,000 interactions on Facebook and Twitter — the most shared story in the entire world.
The second top story circulating around the world was Time Magazine’s original exclusive, titled “Justin Trudeau wore brownface at 2001 ‘Arabian Nights’ party while he taught at a private school.”
Time Magazine’s story had amassed just under 100,000 interactions on social media.
In total, news articles mentioning “Trudeau” and “brownface” had amassed over half a million interactions (574,000) on Facebook and Twitter during the snapshot 12 hour period.
Interactions are a metric that capture comments, likes, shares on Facebook, as well as retweets from influential Twitter accounts. The numbers are aggregated by the social analytics firm NewsWhip using data sourced directly from both platforms.
The story was also the top headline on some of the world’s most reputable news organizations.
“Trudeau’s campaign in turmoil over brownface photo,” reads the headline on the top news story on the New York Times’ website.
“The image drew comparisons to the scandal that enmeshed Gov. Ralph Northam of Virginia earlier this year, when a photograph surfaced that had been published in a medical school yearbook 35 years earlier,” The New York Times noted.
Meanwhile overseas, Trudeau managed to elbow Brexit out the headlines for one day in Britain.
The top story on the BBC website read: “Canada’s campaign in turmoil over brownface photo.”
“Mr. Trudeau, who is the son of late former Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau, used to teach at the elite academy,” the BBC reported. “The image is politically embarrassing for the prime minister because he has made progressive policies a signature issue.”
On Wednesday night, Trudeau held an emergency press conference on his campaign plane where he apologized for what he conceded was a “racist” act.
“I take responsibility for my decision to do that. I shouldn’t have done it, I should have known better,” Trudeau told reporters.
“It was something that I didn’t think was racist at the time, but now I recognize it was something racist to do, and I am deeply sorry.”
The Liberal leader also disclosed to reporters that on another occasion, while he was in high school at the elite Collège Brébeuf, he performed a song and dance routine while dressed in blackface.
Global News later reported it had uncovered video of a third separate instance of Trudeau in blackface at a time after he had graduated high school.
The 2019 election is quickly emerging as one of the first elections where Canada’s political class has been forced to directly confront racism in Canadian society.
Both the Conservatives and the Greens dropped candidates who made anti-Muslim remarks, while Maxime Bernier’s far-right People’s Party has been welcomed to participate in October’s leaders’ debates.
Although the NDP is running with the first racialized party leader in Canadian history, several New Brunswick NDP members defected to Elizabeth May’s Greens because they said they were worried their electoral chances could be hurt without a white leader.
Reacting to Trudeau’s press conference, NDP leader Jagmeet Singh said the photos of Trudeau will bring up painful memories for many Canadians.
“The kids that see this image,” Singh said, “are going to think about all the times in their life that they were made fun of, that they were hurt, that they were hit, that they were insulted, that they were made feel less because of who they are.”
“I don’t want you to give up on Canada and please don’t give up on yourselves — there’s so many people in this country that believe in taking care of one another.”

Trudeau Greets Voters Amid ‘Brownface’ Yearbook Photo Controversy
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s campaign moved to contain a growing furor Thursday after a yearbook photo surfaced of him in brownface at a 2001 “Arabian Nights” costume party and two other similar incidents came to light.
With his bid for re-election just a month away, the 47-year-old Trudeau begged Canadians to forgive him.
“I should have known better then, but I didn’t, and I am deeply sorry for it,” he said, adding: “It was a dumb thing to do.”
Time magazine published the photo on Wednesday, saying it was taken from the yearbook from the West Point Grey Academy, a private school in British Columbia where Trudeau worked as a teacher before going into politics. It shows the then-29-year-old Trudeau in a turban and robe with dark makeup on his hands, face and neck.
Conservative leader Andrew Scheer, who is mounting a serious challenge to the prime minister in the Oct. 21 vote, reacted by declaring Trudeau is “not fit to govern this country.”
The morning after the story broke, Trudeau gave no sign at all that he might resign, and no figures in his Liberal Party had called on him to step down. Many Liberals, some of them minorities, rallied around him, reflecting the reservoir of goodwill over his past support of diversity and immigration.
Canadian Defense Minister Harjit Sajjan, a Liberal who is Sikh, said that what Trudeau did was wrong but that the prime minister has a record of standing up for minorities. Trudeau named Sajjan Canada’s first Sikh defense chief in 2015.
Greg Fergus, a Liberal Member of Parliament who is black, said there was a lot of confusion and hurt in the black community but noted that the prime minister apologized.
Fergus pointed out that it was Trudeau who put Viola Desmond, a black woman who refused to leave the whites-only section of a Canadian movie theater in 1944, on Canada’s $10 bill.
“I think the real measure of the man, and I think the thing we need to be talking about, is all the amazing things we have done for diversity,” Fergus said.
Mitzie Hunter, a Liberal who is running to lead the party in Ontario provincial politics and is black, tweeted: “I know it is not representative of the man he is. This is a teachable moment for all of us. I accept his apology and I hope Canadians do too.”
The photo of Trudeau was taken at the school’s annual dinner, which had an “Arabian Nights” theme that year, Trudeau said. He said he was dressed as a character from “Aladdin.”
The prime minister said it was not the first time he darkened his face: He once did it while performing a version of Harry Belafonte’s “Banana Boat Song (Day-O)” during a talent show.
Global News also reported a third instance, broadcasting a brief video of Trudeau in blackface while raising his hands in the air and sticking out his tongue. A Liberal Party spokeswoman said the footage was from the early 1990s. The Canadian TV network said it was not clear where the tape was made.
Scheer said his campaign team received the video from a concerned citizen and passed it on to the media.
Trudeau is the latest in a string of politicians to get in trouble over racially offensive photos and actions from their younger days.
Earlier this year, Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam faced intense pressure to resign after a racist picture surfaced from his 1984 medical school yearbook page. He denied being in the picture but admitted wearing blackface as a young man while portraying Michael Jackson at a dance party in the 1980s. Since then, Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring has acknowledged wearing blackface in college, and Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey has apologized donning blackface during a college skit more than 50 years ago. None of them stepped down.
Trudeau has championed diversity, multiculturalism and immigration and has been admired by liberals around the world for his policies in the Trump era, with Canada accepting more refugees than the U.S. His government has also strongly advocated free trade and has legalized cannabis.
But the son of the late Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau was already vulnerable following one of the biggest scandals in Canadian political history, which arose when Trudeau’s former attorney general said he improperly pressured her to halt the prosecution of a company in Quebec. Trudeau has said he was standing up for jobs, but the scandal rocked the government and led to resignations and a drop in his ratings earlier this year.

“A Swedish 19-year-old is suspected of being involved in 221 crimes over a four-year period, with his criminal career starting at the age of just 12.
Identified in local media reports as Hassan, the criminal male is currently in prison serving a two-year sentence for robbery, among other charges and participated in an interview to speak about his experiences growing up in the Stockholm criminal scene, Swedish broadcaster SVT reports.
According to the teen, he started stealing bicycles at nine or ten years old but then noted: “Over the years, it has escalated. But I was placed in a youth home, or SiS home [a home for youths showing criminal behaviour], where I met other criminals. Then they became my role models and I wanted to be like them.”
At age 12, Hassan’s mother reported to social services that she suspected he may be part of a criminal gang. Only two years later, he was arrested after stealing a car and leading police on a car chase, with the teen later taken from his mother and placed in a youth home.
By the age of 16, he was convicted of a series of crimes that amounted to a sentence of 31 months in prison but because of Sweden’s “youth discount” and other measures, he only saw two months of youth care.
In February of last year, Hassan, along with two others, beat up a man named Lars Fernandez outside a petrol station and stole his car.
“I said no, and then they hit me on the ground and kept asking for the keys. I said no and protected myself in the fetal position, then one of the guys started kicking me.” Fernandez said.
“That’s how I’m going to die,” Mr Fernandez recalled thinking, continuing: “Then I let go of everything and stopped resisting, then they got hold of the car key I had in my pocket and jumped into the car and pulled away,” he added.
When asked if he regretted the long list of crimes, Hassan responded: “No, I do not regret it, I do not regret my crimes. I don’t believe it will help me.”
Sweden’s issue with gang crime violence has led to a record number of fatal shootings in 2018 and a surge of explosive incidents this year.
The topic has even been discussed by the King of Sweden who expressed serious concerns over the rise in violence.”

“Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has strongly rejected claims by five human rights groups that he hasn’t condemned the Chinese government’s detention of more than a million Muslims in the Xinjiang region, saying he has spoken out forcefully.
“I don’t think anyone has been more persistent and more clear in talking to the Chinese authorities in relation to this issue than myself,” he told reporters Wednesday. “It is absolutely not true that I’ve only done discreet diplomacy.”
On the contrary, Guterres said that during his visit to Beijing in April, “I not only did raise the issue, but I made it public.”
The five rights groups said in a letter to the secretary-general circulated Tuesday that he would make an important contribution to addressing “one of the most pressing human rights issues of our time” by speaking out against China’s internment of the Uighurs and members of other predominantly Muslim ethnic groups and calling for the immediate closure of detention camps for them.
The letter was signed by Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, the International Commission of Jurists, the International Federation for Human Rights and the World Uyghur Conference.
Guterres said he told the Chinese “that it is very important to act in a way that each community feels that their identity is respected and that they belong, at the same time, to the society as a whole.”
“There couldn’t be a more clear message,” he said. “So, if there is an area where I believe I’ve been doing publicly much more than many other leaders around the world (it) is this.”
Guterres said he will continue acting to guarantee that “all human rights in all circumstances are fully respected in that situation.”
Does that mean detention centers should be closed?
“It will mean to do everything that is necessary for human rights to be respected,” Guterres replied.
Criticism has grown over China’s internment of the Uighurs and other Muslims, and Guterres has been criticized previously by human rights groups and some governments for his behind-the-scenes approach and failure to address their plight publicly.
China’s government insists the detention sites are “vocational” centers aimed at training and skills development. It has sharply criticized 22 Western countries that called for an end to mass arbitrary detentions and other abuses of Uighurs and other Muslims in the Xinjiang region.
In a report earlier this year to counter criticism of internment camps and other oppressive security in the traditionally Islamic region, China said it had arrested nearly 13,000 people it described as “terrorists” and had broken up hundreds of “terrorist gangs” in Xinjiang since 2014.
The five rights organizations cautioned Guterres “against any action that might lend credence to Beijing’s narrative that the unlawful detention of over a million Uighurs and other Muslims is a necessary measure to counter terrorism.””

Saudi Arabia on Wednesday displayed wreckage of Iranian cruise missiles and drones. The circuit boards can be reverse engineered to determine the exact route the weapons flew, said the report.
“But US officials said the most damning evidence is still unreleased satellite photos showing the Iranian Revolutionary Guard making preparations for the attack at Ahvaz Air Base in southwestern Iran,” it added.
The satellite photos were of no use in stopping the attack since their significance was not realized until after the fact, explained the report.
“We were caught completely off guard,” one US official said.
The Trump administration and Saudi Arabia have pointed the finger at Iran for the September 14 raids, which hit the world’s biggest crude oil processing facility and initially knocked out half of Saudi output.
The French army spokesman said it sent seven experts to Saudi Arabia to join an investigation.
UN officials monitoring sanctions on Iran and Yemen are also helping probe the attack.
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has said the attacks, which he described as an “act of war” against Saudi Arabia, would be a major focus of next week’s annual UN General Assembly meeting.
He had arrived in Jeddah on Wednesday for talks with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense.”

The source dismissed the excuse that the US Secretary of State gave to explain the Patriot fiasco, noting that in fact the American air defence system simply has low efficiency.
“The secretary of state’s claims that air defence systems around the world demonstrate controversial results in repelling attacks sometimes can only be taken seriously if we are speaking about a single Patriot system, covering one object. But the US had deployed a powerful air defence grid in Saudi Arabia, especially in the north, with a solid radar field”, the source said.
The defence ministry source further indicated that if such an air defence grid failed to thwart the attack it means that the Aegis and Patriot’s specifications do not reflect their actual performance, as they are apparently ineffective in countering small aircraft and guided missiles. The source added that these systems are incapable of repelling a massive use of aerial weapons.
Two oil refineries belonging to Saudi Aramco, Riyadh’s state oil company, were attacked by drones and missiles on 14 September, sustaining significant damage that stopped their operations for days. This led to a substantial reduction in the country’s crude output, essentially cutting it in half.

Considering the length of territory that has to be covered there would be a lot of gaps in the coverage, the Patriot batteries will be positioned to cover vital areas and probably close to the borders not that deep in the country.
FYI, to get any low level flying objects on radar they have to be either close often very close to the radar station/missile battery or there is a downward looking radar flying around that area. “I reached for the gun in my purse on the floor next to me,” Hupp told a congressional committee Wednesday during a hearing on the economic costs of gun violence. She recounted the moments after the killer, George Hennard, crashed his pickup into the restaurant where she was eating with her parents and opened fire. “But then I realized that a few months earlier I had made the stupidest decision of my life. My gun was 100 yards away, dutifully left in my car to obey the law because at that time in the state of Texas, carrying a handgun was illegal.”
Hupp’s campaign to ease restrictions on guns has spanned several decades. She won a seat in the Texas House, where she served for 10 years. On Wednesday, she told her story during a hearing of the Joint Economic Committee.

Kavanaugh was duly confirmed, and a year later comes a new accusation of sexual misconduct. As the New York Times teased the story in a tweet, “having a penis thrust in your face at a drunken dorm party may seem like harmless fun.”
The accusation came from Times reporters Robin Pogrebin and Kate Kelly, authors of the new book The Education of Brett Kavanagh: An Investigation. By all indications, the book shapes up as bogus, but it did contain something worthy of attention. As Pogrebin and Kelly told Alisyn Camerota of CNN, the New York Times omitted a key detail.

No government regulation can make society moral.
A social ill takes place on three levels: the object level, the individual level, and the social level.
Take alcoholism. There’s the object, alcohol. There’s the choice that the individual makes to drink the alcohol. And, finally, there’s the social problems that can be blamed for widespread alcoholism.
The gun control movement operates in the same object-oriented space of the prohibitionist movement. For prohibitionists, the problem was gin. For the gun control movement, it’s all about the guns. Get rid of the gin and the guns, and the underlying problem goes away without having to do anything else.
While the old prohibitionism of sin substances, liquor, drugs, and pornography has been ridiculed and its legal infrastructure dismantled, the obsessive certainty that guns are inherently corrupting holds sway. The lefty media insists that the only solution to gun violence is prohibitionism and more prohibitionism.

On August 25, in Biarritz, France, the leaders of the Group of Seven (G7) reunited to discuss world problems. The situation in the Middle East was not on the agenda. French President Emmanuel Macron, the organizer of the summit this year, was about to force it in.
He had decided to invite to the summit Iran’s foreign minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif. Macron did not warn his guests of Zarif’s attendance until the last minute. His goal, it seems, was to bring about a meeting between the Iranian minister and US President Donald J. Trump. President Trump declined. Zarif had an informal conversation with Macron and some French ministers, then flew back to Tehran. But Macron did not give up. At a press conference the next day, he publicly asked President Trump to meet Iranian leaders as soon as possible.
Trump, in answering a journalist’s question on the possibility of such a meeting, politely answered that such a meeting was possible, but only “if the circumstances were correct.” The Iranian regime answered that first, the United States would have to remove all sanctions. The Trump administration did not bother to reply.
