  1. The case against “Political Generals” should be made more often. I grew up listening to it. Officers my Dad served with were the finest critics, shared endless anecdotes about the shortcomings of that breed.

    Civilians are mostly clueless, reflexively genuflecting yessir. I rolled my eyes when PTrump appointed a raft of them. To bring gravitas to the White House, I guess, bullet-head men with good posture. A dullard lickspittle like “Kiss-the-Koran” McMaster – ugh.

  2. Just my opinion, the Prez has gotten along fine without it…

    It’s the timing of Bolton’s exit that bothers me. Sure it was coming, but why on the 18th anniversary of 9/11?

    Which happens to coincide this year with the shitte holiday of ASHURA. (Haidar! Haidar!)

    The ENEMY certainly does not. (Enemy includes the Saudis, as they continue to congradulate themselves sotto voce. In fact, Enemy is pretty much Dar al Islam.)

    Maybe PTrump actually WANTS to project weakness and disarray to the Mohammedan observer. Strategic messaging, 64-D chess?

    Otherwise, it’s just one in a series of stumbles.

    • Like inviting the Taliban to Camp David. Celebrate 9/11?

    • Sending out the Russian media’s favorite prissy little libertarian, Rand Paul, to reach out to Iran. Public rejection, ouch.

    • Begging for jaw-jaw with Rouhani at the UN. (For a raghead version of the Fatboy Kim photo-op?)

    Khamenei is the top dog, the Dear Leader. Why demean [soil] the office of POTUS with #2?

  3. I always take politician’s horse pucky with a grain of salt. Andrew Young, US Ambassador to the UN, under Jimmy Carter, said “Khomeini was a saint.”

    Carter’s advisor, James Bill said “Khomeini was a man of impeccable integrity and honesty.

    In just a matter of a few weeks, Khomeini had students, lawyers, journalists-Reporters without Borders, women’s rights activists, dissidents rounded up, thrown in prison, and tortured. Gallows were erected on the prison grounds, the Revolutionary Guard declared them enemy’s of God and they were hung.
    4,000 gay people were hung.
