“Additional UAE military forces have arrived in Yemen’s interim capital of Aden, where fighting between forces loyal to the internationally recognized Yemeni government and the Southern Transitional Council (STC) is underway, to support the southern separatists, a source from the Aden provincial authorities told Sputnik on Thursday.
The Yemeni government has been claiming that Abu Dhabi is supporting the separatists and has been calling on the United Arab Emirates to abandon policies aimed at dividing the country. The United Arab Emirates, which is part of the Saudi-led coalition backing the Yemeni government in its fight against the Houthi rebels, has denied claims it supports the STC.
The source said that around 70 UAE combat vehicles had been brought on a vessel to Aden and deployed to a camp of the Security Belt Forces, loyal to the STC.

Swedish channel TV4 has taken its viewers aback by seriously discussing the idea of eating other people “to save the climate”.
The feature about the Stockholm fair Gastro Nord, touted as “Europe’s most important gastronomic platform”, where behaviour researcher Magnus Söderlund, a professor of marketing and head of the centre for consumer marketing (CCM) at the Stockholm School of Economics, held seminars on the possibility of eating human flesh.
Addressing the host’s question about what makes us react instinctively with disgust to the idea of consuming fellow humans, Söderlund, an expert in consumer behaviour, calmly said: “First of all, it’s that this person about to be eaten must be dead”.
Söderlund stressed that there are many difficult taboos among the general public in the Western world, which makes it difficult for actors who want to enter the human meat industry. He has come to the conclusion that people in general have a hard time handling dead people, which he finds strange as “people have been killing each other in vast numbers over time”.
Furthermore, the researcher stressed that there are many taboos about desecrating a dead body. The third factor that makes it difficult for players to establish themselves in this industry is that the public tends to stick to what has worked well in the past.
“People in the general public are a bit conservative when it comes to eating things they are not used to”, Söderlund said.
In conclusion, the researcher stressed the importance of raising this issue for the sake of the climate.
“If we are about to leave no stone unturned when it comes to climate and sustainability questions, it is important to raise the issue”, Söderlund concluded.
While known for being passionate about the environment, ordinary Swedes, however, thought that this was a step too far.

“According to right-wing Progress Party, this indicates that integration doesn’t occur automatically, and that Norway must “make more demands” to solve this problem.
A recent study by Statistics Norway ordered by the right-wing Progress Party has shown that children of immigrants commit more crimes than first-generation immigrants.
According to figures from Statistics Norway, Norwegian-born men with a Somali family background within the age bracket of 15-35 have a 4.6 times higher rate of violent crime. Men with Iraqi backgrounds have a 4 times higher rate. The same pattern is seen among Moroccan Norwegians (3.2), Turkish Norwegians (2.8) and Pakistani Norwegians (2.4).
“There are significantly higher rates among immigrants for certain types of offences, such as mistreatment in close relationships. And significantly lower for other types, such as embezzlement”, Sigmund Book Mohn of Statistics Norway told the newspaper Aftenposten.
From 2015-2017, a total 443 people were charged with “mistreatment in close relationships”, including domestic violence. Some 185 of the 443 were immigrants, which signals a drastic over-representation.
“We have to stop hushing it down”, Progress Party deputy leader and former Integration Minister Sylvi Listhaug said.
According to her and Progress Party integration spokesman Jon Helgheim, this means that “integration doesn’t happen automatically over time”.
“It is not so that showering them with money and services, which Norway has been good at, solves the problem. We must make more demands and check better whether the integration measures have any effect”, they said.
A previous report by Statistics Norway in 2017 highlighted an over-representation of migrants from certain countries and areas in crime statistics, with migrants from Kosovo, Somalia, Iraq, and Iran particularly sticking out in crime per capita in the period from 2010-2013. The report also found that second-generation migrants are generally more crime-prone than their parents, with the exception of refugees’ children.

Kirsi Pimiä, Finland’s Non-Discrimination Ombudsman has recommended that Finland’s public swimming pools should permit the use of burkinis, the body-covering bathing suits popular in the Muslim world.
By her own admission, Pimiä became aware of several cases when burkini-wearing women were not permitted to use public swimming pools, despite being previously advised though.
“From the point of view of laws on discrimination, it’s problematic that not all swimming pools permit the use of burkinis. Some Muslim women use burkinis as bathing suits, so a ban can amount to discrimination on the grounds of religion and gender”, Pimiä said, as quoted by national broadcaster Yle.
A ban therefore equals multiple discrimination, she stressed.
Pimiä added that public pools should also provide private showering facilities in order to promote equality among all segments of society, including those with disabilities and illnesses or sexual minorities.
In 2017, several swimming-related organisations, including the Swimming Teaching and Lifesaving Federation and Aquatics Finland, also recommended that burkinis should be permitted in the country’s swimming halls.
Finland’s swimming halls tend to have strict rules, as some don’t even accept shorts as swimwear. In the absence of nationwide rules, local burkini bans have been justified, among other things, by security aspects and hygienic considerations, as a loose burkini can get stuck and create dangerous situations. Others, by contrast, see no hazards and even offer burkinis for rent.
A 2016 estimate by the Research Centre suggested that 2.7 percent of Finland’s population of 5.5 million is Muslim.
The burkini, a combination of a bikini and burka, sometimes referred to as “modesty suit”, was created in 2004 by Lebanese-Australian designer Aheda Zanetti. According to her, the idea is to enable Muslim women to participate in sports-related activities. The burkini covers the entire body, except the face, hands and feet.

“Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has threatened to allow Syrian refugees to leave Turkey for Western countries unless a so-called “safe zone” inside Syria is established soon.
Erdogan made the threat in a speech to his ruling party officials on Thursday. He also said Turkey was determined to create the safe zone and would do it alone if there’s no deal with the U.S. by the end of the month.
He says Turkey aims to resettle about 1 million out of the 3.65 million Syrian refugees in the safe zone.
Erdogan says: “We will be forced to open the gates. We cannot be forced to handle the burden alone.”
He also added that Turkey “did not receive the support needed from the world” to help it cope with Syrian refugees.”

Bill de Blasio eyes license requirement for bike riders
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said he is considering requiring bicyclists to be licensed and registered like automobile drivers currently are.
According to a report in the New York Daily News on Wednesday, the mayor also wants to expand the city’s safety regulations, which already have won it a nanny-state reputation, to include requiring Citi Bike renters to wear helmets.
Mr. de Blasio called the idea of forcing cyclists to have licenses and registration a “valid discussion,” the Daily News reported, and added that he also plans a crackdown on cyclists who break traffic laws.
Advocates of bicycling argued that regulating and licensing something discourages it — the opposite of what the city ought to be doing.
“Requiring helmets and bicycle licensing is counterproductive to Vision Zero because they’re a deterrent to cycling,” Joe Cutrufo, spokesman for advocacy group Transportation Alternatives, told the Daily News. “When you discourage people from riding a bike, fewer people will do it, and the safest cities in the world for riding a bike are the cities where there are the most cyclists.

People who eat vegan and vegetarian diets have a lower risk of heart disease and a higher risk of stroke, a major study suggests.
They had 10 fewer cases of heart disease and three more strokes per 1,000 people compared with the meat-eaters.
The research, published in the British Medical Journal, looked at 48,000 people for up to 18 years.
However, it cannot prove whether the effect is down to their diet or some other aspect of their lifestyle.

Salvini probed for defaming Sea-Watch3 captain Rackete
July suit asked for ‘hate-stoking’ accounts to be taken down
ROME – Former interior minister and anti-migrant League party leader Matteo Salvini was placed under investigation Thursday on suspicion of defaming Carla Rackete, the German captain of the migrant rescue NGO ship Sea-Watch3.
The probe follows a complaint filed by Rackete in July.
Salvini reacted to the news by saying “reported by a German Communist, ferry woman of migrants, who rammed a finance guard motor boat: for me this is a medal! “I’ll never give up, never”.
Rackete filed her suit July 12 to close Salvini’s Facebook and Twitter accounts because they allegedly stoked hate against her and the Sicilian prosecutor who released her after she defied the minister’s closed-ports policy, Alessandra Vella.
In the suit, which attached rape threats against her from social media haters who allegedly responded to Salvini’s criticism, the 31-year-old German migrant rescue ship captain argued that far-right League leader Salvini, who called her “a rich Communist scamp who shops in Portofino”, spreads hatred and instigates people to commit crimes.
Salvini dismissed claims, notably from 5-Star Movement (M5S) former equal opportunities cabinet secretary Vincenzo Spadafora, that his comments on Rackete were sexist, saying he would have said the same things about a man.
He called on Spadafora to resign “if he can’t stand being in government with dangerous male chauvinists and fascists”.
The anti-establishment M5S was the League’s partner in Italy’s first all-populist government, on which Salvini pulled the plug on August 8 after 14 months in government.
Spadafora said he stood by what he said and refused to resign.
Salvini reacted to Rackete’s announced suit Thursday by saying “the German Communist, the one who rammed the finance guard patrol boat, has asked prosecutors to close my Facebook and Twitter pages.
“There’s no end to how ridiculous things can get. So can I use only Instagram now??”

hese global warming fanatics are nuts. First, they want to take away our juicy steaks because of cows. Now, they are advocating the consumption of a different “red meat,” and, no, I don’t mean duck. A Swedish scientist suggests that it may be necessary to turn to cannibalism and start eating human flesh to save the planet, thereby giving new meaning to the expression “Bite me.”
A conference about the food of the future called Gastro Summit being held in Stockholm featured a presentation by a dude named Magnus Söderlund, who claims we must get used to the idea of eating human flesh if we are to save the planet.

AACP President Jeffrey Dye had a record of threatening his brother with a knife, getting caught with six bags of crack cocaine, assaulting police officers on two separate occasions, so of course he was appointed to work for the New Jersey Department of Labor & Workforce Development.
Governor Phil Murphy’s Dem administration had previously appointed Al Alvarez, his guy in charge of Latino and Muslim outreach, accused of trying to rape one of his staffers during the campaign, as chief of staff the New Jersey Schools Development Authority. The last time Dye had gotten in trouble was when he had been charged with aggravated assault after a confrontation with 3 police officers in 2007.
That’s not counting the time he failed to file campaign finance reports while running for public office.
Dye morphed into a perennial Democrat candidate, running and losing one election after another, and headed Passaic’s NAACP chapter. As Rachel Dolezal, a white woman claiming to be black, who headed the Spokane NAACP chapter, showed the organization doesn’t have high standards for chapter leaders.
But Dye met the most crucial standard that the Murphy administration cared about. He supported Phil Murphy. You can be a rapist or threaten your brother with a knife, all you need to do is back Phil.

Let’s not even dwell on the false accusations here. As bad as they are, what the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, a government body did, in passing a resolution calling an organization representing 5 million Americans whose views on the Bill of Rights are mainstream in the political opposition, a domestic terrorist organization is far worse. Had a GOP legislature labeled Planned Parenthood a domestic terrorist group, the media would be warning about the “threat to democracy” and the criminalization of the political opposition.
That’s exactly what this is.
The resolution may have no real authority, but it makes the case for criminalizing political opposition to the Left. And that’s civil war stuff.

Chérif Chekatt, the 29-year-old perpetrator of the December 11, 2018, mass shooting in Strasbourg, France was designated a gangster jihadist by French Police. The sudden and alarming proliferation of top-shelf weaponry among Hamas and Hezbollah on the Israeli border is very likely the consequence of a renewed and strengthened alliance between them and Sinaloa, in which German-based “refugees” deal Sinaloan coke and heroin and kick part of the profits back to their Iran-based handlers, Hezbollah who, in turn, shuffle weapons over to Lebanon. This arrangement provides Iran deniability, while also providing Sinaloa broader access to and deeper penetration of the German narco market, as well as plenty of easy money to SUV-driving, Gucci-toting “refugees.”

A municipal court judge denied all requests to drop charges against left-wing protesters in Boston Municipal Court Tuesday, going against the wishes of both the prosecution and defense.
Thirty-six leftists?including antifa radicals?were arrested during the Straight Pride Parade in Boston Saturday, on charges ranging from disorderly conduct to assault and battery on a police officer.

Lebanon: Palestinian refugees in Beirut call for asylum outside Canadian embassy
Hundreds of Palestinian flags rallied outside the Canadian embassy in Beirut on Thursday, decrying precarious living conditions in Lebanon and requesting asylum in the North American country.
The rally was reportedly organised by the Palestinian Youth Organisation for Humanitarian Relief in Lebanon and the Youth Movement for Palestinians in Syria.
The demonstrators waved Canadian and Palestinian flags and held banners reading “Time is now” and “We want to live with dignity.”
One Palestinian Syrian refugee said, “We want humanitarian asylum in Canada because we no longer have any work here. They are asking us about work permits, and we, as Palestinian Syrians, cannot work here.”
Another Palestinian refugee noted, “I have no rights, as a Palestinian living in Lebanon since I was born here. I demand my human rights as any human being on the planet.”
The protesters also condemned the alleged corruption within the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).
The rally comes following the Lebanese authorities’ crackdown on undocumented foreign labour in the country.

“French clinical psychologist Marie-Caroline Saglio-Yatzimirsky has warned that many migrants suffering from severe mental illness are not being properly treated.
While Dr Saglio-Yatzimirsky claimed migrants do not have higher rates of mental illness than the French population overall, she said that there is a distinct lack of access to health professionals and treatment for them, Le Progres reports.
“The mental disorders of migrants are both neglected and denied. There is a problem of structures and a very significant lack of possibility of care,” she said and added: “Refugees have often had extremely violent trajectories that cause post-traumatic stress disorder associated with symptoms of depression, some even have suicidal thoughts.”
The recent mass stabbing attack by a 33-year-old Afghan migrant that led to the death of one person has also been linked to mental illness.
In February, the man was interviewed by a psychologist who claimed that the migrant showed no serious symptoms of mental illness but was unable to follow up with him as the 33-year-old repeatedly did not come to further appointments.
Following the attack and his subsequent arrest, another psychologist found the 33-year-old was suffering from a “psychotic state with paranoid delusions”.
Despite Saglio-Yatzimirsky claiming that migrants show no more signs of mental illness than the average French resident, other organisations such as the Red Cross and Urgent Medical Aid Service say at least 26 per cent of migrants have said they wanted to see a mental health professional.
Similar warnings over migrant mental health have been made in the past in France, including a warning from the Doctors of the World NGO last year which said that as many as three-quarters of the migrants in Calais suffered from mental illness.
