If it isn’t rioting, its probably blowing up: Links 2, Aug. 6, 2019

1. A touching video from a photographer who does not do politics, but felt the urgent need to talk about what is happening around him in Hong Kong.

2. America Is Drowning in the Left’s Lies About Trump

The president of the United States, Donald Trump, never said there were “fine” Nazis or Ku Klux Klansmen.

This is one of the two great lies of our time — the other being that all Trump supporters are racists — and perhaps in all of American history. I cannot think of a lie of such significance that was held as truth by so many Americans, by every leading politician of one of the two major political parties and disseminated by virtually the entire media.

The major news media need to understand these are important reasons that half of America considers them frauds. And we get no pleasure from this fact. The reason we don’t recoil when the president labels the mainstream media “fake news” is that we know the charge is true. Has one major media news outlet yet apologized to the American people for preoccupying them for nearly two years with the lie of “Trump collusion” with Russia? Has one Democrat? Of course not. Because with regard to the Trump-Russia collusion issue, the news media were never driven by a pursuit of truth; they were driven by a pursuit of Trump.

3. AT&T employees took bribes to plant malware on the company’s network

DOJ charges Pakistani man with bribing AT&T employees more than $1 million to install malware on the company’s network, unlock more than 2 million devices.

AT&T employees took bribes to unlock millions of smartphones, and to install malware and unauthorized hardware on the company’s network, the Department of Justice said yesterday.

These details come from a DOJ case opened against Muhammad Fahd, a 34-year-old man from Pakistan, and his co-conspirator, Ghulam Jiwani, believed to be deceased.

The DOJ charged the two with paying more than $1 million in bribes to several AT&T employees at the company’s Mobility Customer Care call center in Bothell, Washington.

4. Joaquin Castro Posts Names, Employers Of Trump Donors

(The left, with hits bitter hatred of America as a symbol of a successful west, seems determined to either win by any means possible, or perish in a civil war because of the flagrant disregard for civil rule. I know which I would pick for them)

Democratic Texas Rep. Joaquin Castro on Monday tweeted the names and employers of 44 San Antonio residents who donated the federal maximum to President Donald Trump’s reelection campaign.

Castro, whose district includes much of San Antonio, claimed the donors “are fueling a campaign of hate that labels Hispanic immigrants as ‘invaders.’” Castro is the twin brother of Democratic presidential candidate Julian Castro and chairs his presidential campaign.

“Sad to see so many San Antonians as 2019 maximum donors to Donald Trump,” the congressman wrote, proceeding to name local businesses whose owners gave the maximum to Trump’s campaign. Eleven of the 44 donors shown in Rep. Castro’s post listed their employment as “retired.”

Trump campaign communications director Tim Murtaugh is demanding Castro delete the post.

(After reading this, think on the number of people banned from Twitter, like Alex Jones, Oz-Rita, James Woods, who never used the medium for anything actually illegal. But this doxxing most certainly is.)

5. The Chinese response referred to disrespect to the Chinese flag. Unusual for a communist. But this video shows the event.

6. More on the recent antisemitic attack on a Jewish family in the UK. And the attacker is….!

6. Panorama episode on the Brides of the Islamic State which was criticized for telling an obvious truth about the IS Salute. This is amazingly accurate for a BBC production on anything Islamic. Worth seeing.

7. IS ‘resurging’ in Syria as US pulls troops: watchdog

The Islamic State (IS) jihadist group is “resurging” in Syria even as the United States withdrew troops, and is solidifying its insurgent capabilities in neighboring Iraq, a Defense Department watchdog said Tuesday.

The jihadists — who suffered major territorial losses at the hands of Iraqi and Syrian forces backed by a US-led international air campaign — are exploiting weaknesses in local forces to make gains, the report from the Office of Inspector General said.

“Despite losing its territorial ‘caliphate,’ the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) solidified its insurgent capabilities in Iraq and was resurging in Syria this quarter,” according to the report, which uses an alternate name for the jihadist group.

8. Fire destroys historic Texas Church

Can’t find any hints as to who did this.

10. Cairo car bomb kills at least 20 outside hospital

Interior ministry blames Hasm group for blast that injured dozens near cancer institute

Twenty people have been killed and 47 injured after a car bomb collided with other vehicles, triggering an explosion outside a cancer hospital in central Cairo.

The blast occurred around midnight local time on a road running alongside the Nile River in an area outside Egypt’s National Cancer Institute. Pictures taken just after the incident and published by Egypt’s largest newspaper, Al-Ahram, showed two burnt-out cars, with at least one completely blackened and dented from the force of the explosion.

Egypt’s interior ministry said a car carrying explosives drove into oncoming traffic and collided with three others, detonating its charge. It named Hasm, a violent offshoot of the Islamist Muslim Brotherhood group, as the organisation responsible for the attack, and said a member of the group had been arrested in connection with the blast.

11. Donald Trump unleashes at Google claiming that search giant lied to him and DID suppress negative stories on Hillary Clinton and warns: ‘We are watching Google very closely!’

President Donald Trump tore into search giant Google and its CEO Tuesday, touting claims that it worked to undermine his 2016 election and saying he was watching the company ‘very closely.’

Trump issued the warning to the tech behemoth amid a legislative push to regulate big tech, and his own repeated claims that forces are arrayed against him in the elections.

He claimed its boss, CEO Sundar Pichai, had groveled to him on how well the administration was performing.

The attack on Google came a day after he blamed social media as one of the reasons for mass shootings, in a speech which also took aim at online forums and the internet as causing a ‘culture of violence.’

12. German state sponsored media refuses to report on Stuttgart sword murder

After receiving many questions on why Deutschlandfunk has not reported on the barbaric sword murder of a Kazakh father (36) in Stuttgart by a man originally believed to be a Syrian but might actually be Jordanian Palestinian (28) according to the tabloid Bild.

The state sponsored broadcaster released the following statement claiming the attack was not of national importance or societal significance unlike the case of a mother and her 8-year-old son being pushed in front of a train by an Eritrean in the same week in Frankfurt.

The statement further reads that the outlet was filled with sadness and disbelief but the nationality of the attacker does not justify reporting on it despite the debate on social media.

Instead the Deutschlandfunk states that enough regional and local outlets reported on it, which are available to everyone online.

I am slowly working my way through this most excellent paper by Stephen Coughlin on the history of Leftism and its real meaning, which of course goes to understanding and predictive value. It is, so far at least, truly excellent. It is recommended for regular readers of  Vlad who have a decent understanding of Leftism to begin with, as assumptions are made about what you already know.

But for those interested in gaining some real clarity on the nature of Leftism, so much so that seemingly absurd things we see, suddenly make sense in the context provided, then download this and shoot for 5 or 10 pages a day.

  1. 4 – The left has long been fomenting a civil war, they have done all they can to create a climate of fear among the Republicans and the Right. They go to the extremes to call people who commit mass murder “Extremists on the Right” when the criminal openly states he is a Progressive. They continually attack and blame the victims for the attack, they are pushing the US into a kinetic Civil war that will be much nastier then they think possible.

Tucker Carlson is openly talking about how the left is working to divide the nation, he hasn’t publicly said that they are pushing for a civil war, but he is coming close to saying that. He is talking about how the left is fomenting attacks on their political enemies but is stopping before he says they are engaged in a civil war.

Tim Poole is saying that we are going into a civil war that the left can’t win, he is slowly moving towards seeing the civil war that I see coming. All he needs is more history on left wing asymmetric civil wars and how to foment them and how to wage them. Of course the left is also ignoring the ways that asymmetric civil wars were started and fought in South America, civil wars that were usually lost by the left because of many reasons including that the Right started using their combat tactics against them.

Tim Poole is right about the way the coming civil war is going to be very bloody and will last a long time.
