The bodies in Gilroy, El Paso, and Dayton were still in the morgue when the progressive “carrion-picking crows” started politicizing the murders. But everything they said about gun control, “white nationalism,” and Trump’s culpability was based on lies and stale clichés recycled for political gain.
The argument that more gun control laws will lessen substantially such murders has been disproven with facts over and over. In the Nineties, gun homicides fell by half, even as the number of guns increased 56%. The reason has been obvious since Prohibition in the Twenties: if enough people want something, black markets and criminal gangs will exist to get it for them. We’ve spent about a trillion dollars on reducing the availability of drugs, yet any savvy teenager in America can get just about any drug in less than a day. Likewise, someone bent on mayhem can circumvent the most stringent gun control laws. Just look at the crime rate in Democrat-controlled cities like Chicago, D.C., or Baltimore. They have some of the most restrictions on guns, and some of the highest murder rates.
Yet after the El Paso massacre, Democrat primary candidate Amy Klobuchar, a “moderate” only by comparison to her hard-left rivals, wrote, “The U.S. House has passed common sense gun safety legislation. It is long past time to pass it in the Senate. The question to ask: Whose side are you on? The NRA’s or the people’s?” “Beto” O’Rourke decried “lax gun laws,” Bernie Sanders called for “common-sense gun safety legislation,” and Kamala Harris vowed during her first 100 days as president to block the import of “assault rifles”. These empty statements have become anti-gun-nut mantras designed to exploit the suffering of the victims and the ghoulish spectacle of the crimes.

Police in El Paso, Texas, have arrested Patrick Crusius, 21, of Allen, Texas, for the murder of 20 people, with 26 wounded at this writing. The carnage was still being sorted out on Saturday when Democrats began unloading on President Trump.
“He is a racist, and he stokes racism in this country,” presidential candidate Robert Francis O’Rourke, who likes to be called “Beto,” told reporters in El Paso. “We’ve had a rise in hate crimes every single one of the last three years.” In similar style, “I do think Trump’s rhetoric has fueled more hate in this country,” opined Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar. In all the sound and fury, the media failed to give full attention to a statement by Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick to the group calling itself Antifa.
“Stay out of El Paso,” Patrick told Fox News, “We didn’t need them to begin with before this happened. I would say to Antifa: scratch Texas off the map and don’t come in. It’s not the time and place for them to come at any time, but particularly in aftermath of what just happened in El Paso.”
Patrick’s warning came 29 days before Antifa’s “Border Resistance” training tour slated for Texas. Journalist Andy Ngo, recently attacked and injured by Antifa, posted materials for the ten-day “Call to Action” in El Paso. This was hardly the only justification for Patrick’s warning.

At 1%, Muslims are still a small percentage of the population. But there’s one place in America where they are vastly over-represented.
State prisons.
Take Maryland, which has an estimated 70,000 Muslims, making up over 1% of the population. But of Maryland’s 18,562 prisoners, 5,084 were Muslims.
That’s 27.4% or over 1 in 4 prisoners.
It would also mean that 1 out of 13 Muslims in Maryland may have been in a state prison.
Those are startling numbers, yet they come from Muslim Advocates, an Islamist legal advocacy group. Both MA’s numbers and the number of Muslims in different states may be miscounted, yet these figures raise serious questions about public safety and the toll that immigration is taking on our communities.

In a recent interview that Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) chose to give to Al Jazeera (a network that has many times, like Omar herself, disseminated anti-Semitic propaganda), the ever-controversial Congresswoman sounded a theme that is frequently repeated in the establishment media: that Muslims must not be blamed for the actions of jihad terrorists. This claim is predicated on the assumption, almost universally accepted today, that Islam and the genuine understanding of jihad have nothing whatsoever to do with terrorism, and thus cannot be held responsible for the actions of terrorists.
If this is true, however, the question is inevitable: why do so many Muslims misunderstand the tenets of their faith? Why is Islam so hard to grasp?
Omar was defending herself against charges that she had trivialized the 9/11 jihad attacks: “Those are horrific attacks. There’s no question about it, that’s not a debatable thing. Innocent Americans lost their lives that day, we all mourn their deaths … And I think it’s quite disgusting that people even question that and want to debate that.”
However, there was something more important to Omar than the deaths of innocent Americans: the image of Islam. “What is important,” she explained, “is the larger point that I was speaking to, which is about making sure that blame isn’t placed on a whole faith, that we as Muslims are not collectively blamed for the actions of terrorists,” Omar added.

Germany’s point-blank refusal to support Washington’s proposal for a maritime protection force in the Arabian Gulf to protect shipping from attacks by Iran is yet another example of Berlin’s diplomatic and economic sabotage of the Western alliance.
Following the recent upsurge in Iranian aggression in the all-important Strait of Hormuz, the Gulf shipping artery through which flows one-fifth of the world’s energy needs, Washington has sought international backing for Operation Sentinel, its naval operation to protect shipping in the region.

“On Saturday, Iranian officials revealed that the 44-year-old web developer, who was arrested in December 2008 in Iran, had fled the Middle Eastern country.
Malekpour was arrested while visiting Iran in 2008 to see his sick father. He has maintained his innocence and claims that the open source program he developed to upload photos on the internet was used on Persian-language pornographic websites without his knowledge. Yet, he was still arrested by Iranian authorities and accused of “designing and moderating adult content websites” and “insulting the sanctity of Islam,” Al Jazeera reported.
“This individual was barred from leaving the country and has apparently left … via unofficial channels and has not returned,” Iranian judiciary spokesperson Gholamhossein Esmaili is quoted as recently saying to Mizan Online News Agency.
“This individual was sentenced to life in jail and had served more than 11 years of his sentence,” Esmaili added.
According to Esmaili, Malekpour was granted a three-day furlough on July 20. However, instead of checking back into prison, he escaped from Iran through an unnamed country and is currently in Vancouver, Canada.
On August 2, Malekpour’s sister, Maryam, shared a video on Twitter, confirming that her brother had returned to Canada. “The nightmare is finally over! Thank you Canada for your leadership. And thank you to every single person who supported us throughout this time. Together we prevailed,” Maryam Malekpour wrote.
?According to a May 2018 report by Amnesty International, Saeed was “physically and psychologically tortured and spent over a year in solitary confinement.”
“He was given false promises by authorities that if he cooperated, they would conditionally release him. The IRGC [Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps] wanted ‘confessions’. They never cared how the ‘confessions’ were made; whether or not they were true, coerced through torture, or obtained through false promises,” the report adds.
In a 2010 letter obtained by Amnesty International, Malekpour describes the psychological torture he endured in prison.
“The physical torture was nothing compared to the psychological torments. I endured long solitary confinement without phone calls or the possibility of visiting my loved ones, constant threats to arrest and torture my wife and family if I did not co-operate, threats to kill me. They also gave me false news that my wife had been arrested. My mental health was severely threatened. I had no access to any books or journals in the solitary cells, and at times, I would not speak to anybody for days,” the letter reads.
Payam Akhavan, an expert in international law at McGill University who was involved in Malekpour’s case, revealed that none of Malekpour’s family members were aware that he was going to flee the country while on furlough for a few days.
“It was far from certain that the plan to bring him to Canada would succeed. So we are all very relieved,” Akhavan revealed in an interview with CBC.
“It was dangerous. Really, until he set foot in Canada we were not sure that everything would go according to plan,” he continued, also adding that the Candadian government was “exceptionally helpful” in Malekpour’s case and quickly provided him the necessary paperwork required to enter the country.
In a recent statement, a spokesperson for Canada’s Global Affairs government said that “Canada welcomes the news that Saeed Malekpour has been reunited with his family in Canada.”
“We have advocated for Mr. Malekpour’s release and are pleased that he is now in Canada,” the statement adds.”

There was also a mass shooting late Saturday, early Sunday morning in Chicago.
At least seven people were injured in a shooting near Douglas Park in Chicago.

“Dozens of illegal migrants crossed the English Channel in boats over the weekend, the great majority landing undetected.
Twenty migrants were detected by Border Force officials only after they had landed in Dungeness, Kent, after crossing the narrow waterway in a dinghy on the 3rd of August, according to The Times.
Another eleven — all men, according to the newspaper — were intercepted while still at sea by a Border Force patrol cutter, but were picked up and brought the rest of the way to Britain rather than taken back to France, despite clearly being in no danger of state persecution in the G7 nation.
Six more were discovered in Sussex by police.
All 37 were ultimately transferred to immigration officials to be processed, except for a small number from the Sussex party described as minors, who were transferred to social service, and all claimed to be from Iran or Iraq.
All told, some 1,150 migrants were known to have attempted to cross the Channel by boat in 2019 as of last month, according to then-Home Secretary Sajid Javid — now Chancellor of the Exchequer, and succeeded by Priti Patel.
750 reached the English coast successfully — that the authorities know of, at any rate — despite the Home Office shelling out £780,000 for Royal Navy patrols at the start of the year which, in the end, achieved zero interceptions.
The figures are already more than double those for the whole of 2018, indicating that the problem is becoming out of control despite the Home Office declaring a “major incident” and promising effective crisis management at the end of last year.
The fact so many have been able to land without being intercepted also raises security concerns for some, given how frequently radical Islamic terrorists have managed to acquire fully automatic and other firearms for use in mass casualty atrocities in France.
Tens of thousands more illegal migrants are still attempting to force the British border by stowing away in road vehicles and ships or by breaking into the Channel Tunnel, of course, but the boat crossings have garnered more attention due to their being a relatively new phenomenon, reminiscent of the often deadly sea crossings which have seen hundreds of thousands of African and Asian migrants cross the Mediterranean and Aegean seas to Greece, Italy, and Spain.
“Anyone crossing the Channel in a small boat is taking a huge risk with their life and the lives of their children. Since December, two cutters have returned to UK waters from overseas operations, we have agreed a joint action plan with France and increased activity in Calais,” said a Home Office spokesman following the latest sea crossings.
“It is an established principle that those in need of protection should claim asylum in the first safe country they reach and since January more than 50 people who arrived illegally in the UK on small boats have been returned to Europe,” the spokesman boasted — although this figure does of course fall well short of the more than 750 who are known to have landed.
This is due in large part to European Union regulations, which mandate that illegal migrants entering a member-state should not merely –be returned to the last safe member-state — usually Emmanuel Macron’s France, in Britain’s case — but should instead be returned to the very first EU member-state they entered.
If this cannot be determined due to lack of a paper trail and the illegal arrival’s refusal to be forthcoming, which is not unusual, the authorities find themselves with few opportunites to deport — at least within the current legal framework.”

Colonel Houcem Eddine Jebabli said that the competent units have sent the terrorists’ corps to the forensic doctor to be identified.
Two Kalashnikovs, ammunition, hand grenades, as well as electric detonators were seized with the two terrorists, who had pledged allegiance to ISIS.
According to Tunisian security sources, one of the terrorist elements was Algerian national Abu Ayman al-Wahrani who used to plan the terrorist operations and lead the training of other elements.
Wahrani also participated in a number of terrorist operations that targeted security personnel and soldiers in Western cities.
The other terrorist element, however, was Tunisian and had joined terrorists in the mountains nearly three years ago.
The two elements were among the most dangerous commanders hiding in the mountains of Gafsa and Kasserine adjacent areas (south and central Tunisia), same sources noted.
They pointed out that they had both participated in terrorizing inhabitants of the mountainous areas and forcibly seized, using force of arms, food and private property.
They were arrested after leaving the mountains due to a successful ambush and accurate intelligence as they were planning to target security patrols in the area.
Last Thursday, Tunisian Interior Minister Hisham al-Furati announced arresting a number of terrorist elements, who were planning to target the country’s stability, including the Tunis-Carthage International Airport.
He said these elements were planning to disrupt Tunisia’s stability and attack security and military units and vital sectors.
The level of terrorist threats remains, Furati noted, stressing that vigilance is a crucial, in coordination with the military establishment, especially on the eastern Tunisian border with Libya and the western borders with Algeria.”

Katie Pavlich, who literally wrote the book on Operation Fast and Furious, delivered a very timely talk to the Accuracy in Media “ObamaNation: A Day of Truth,” conference on September 21st. It was the day after the Justice Department’s Inspector General issued a report on the scandalous gun walking operation that resulted in the death of Border Patrol agent Brian Terry, and ICE agent Jaime Zapata, plus hundreds of Mexicans. She points out that it was mainly blogs that broke this story, but that Sharyl Attkisson of CBS News, who AIM honored this year with a Reed Irvine Award, had done an “amazing” job covering the story.
This was the same conference where Patrick Caddell said that the media have become “the “enemy of the American people.”

“A new report has revealed that human trafficking in Iraq has prospered since the collapse of the Saddam Hussein regime in 2003, AlKhaleejonline.com reported on Sunday. The report was prepared by the Iraqi Observatory for Victims of Human Trafficking (IOVHT).
According to the independent IOVHT, at least 27 human trafficking networks have been documented, in addition to six related kinds of violations in Baghdad and other Iraqi governorates. The report found that most of the human trafficking networks regard Iraqi Kurdistan as a safe haven for their crimes. It also showed that the networks are using modern techniques to hunt their victims, including social media, concentrating on prostitution, the harvesting of human body parts and begging.
One police director with 30 years’ service in Iraq before he was sacked for his efforts to fight human trafficking, told AlKhaleejonline.com that politicians have been involved in trafficking networks in the country. “The problem started in 2005, when Al-Mahdi militias controlled Baghdad and closed bars, nightclubs and brothels, and the capital was turned into a city like those controlled by Daesh,” he claimed. The militias were the first to be formed by Shias after the US invasion of Iraq in 2003.
The former police officer, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that bars, nightclubs and brothels were organised during the Saddam era, but after the collapse of the regime they depended on the militias for protection. He claimed that one of the most dominant militias in the country, affiliated to a dominant religious party, has been protecting such places for years, and making more money than the country’s income from oil in the process.”

“Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has publicly announced the decision to launch a long-awaited military operation in Syria, east of the Euphrates River, and said that the United States (US) and Russia have been warned and provided with the information necessary.
Speaking at an inauguration ceremony in the north-western city of Bursa yesterday, Erdogan stated that “We entered Afrin, Jarabulus, and Al-Bab, and now we’re going to enter east of the Euphrates,” adding that “We shared this with the US and Russia.”
The military operation has been highly speculated on in recent weeks following talks between Turkish military figures such as Minister of Defence Hulusi Akar and US Envoy to Syria James Jeffreys regarding a proposed safe zone in northern Syria. “The rescue operation took place on August 4, approximately 20 km off the coast of Al Hoceima, reports Spanish news channel COPE.
The boat’s engine had broken down and the hull had filled up with water when the navy arrived. The migrants were taken back to the Al Hoceima port.
On August 1, the Moroccan police also arrested 95 other sub-Saharan migrants when they were preparing to leave for Europe from a beach in Tazaghine, west of Al Hoceima.
Every year, thousands of migrants leave Morocco illegally by boat in an attempt to reach Europe. According to figures from the International Organization for Migration (IOM), between January and July 2019, 12,443 migrants arrived illegally in Spain by sea….”
Fake Moroccan Intelligence Agent Scams Victims in Mosques (mwn, Aug 5, 2019)

“The Prosecutor’s Office of Ain Sebaâ’s Court of the First Instance in Casablanca ordered the arrest of a Moroccan National for fraud and impersonation. The man pretended to be a senior Moroccan intelligence agent, promising to help send dozens of his victims to the Netherlands.
Pretending to hold close relations with diplomatic officials, he scammed more than a hundred people by extorting sums of money ranging between MAD 50,000 and 60,000 since 2013.
Assabah newspaper reported, in its August 5 issue, that the scammer targeted elderly men in mosques. He approached them after prayer and asked them about the situation of their children after first gaining their trust. When the victims’ children appeared to be unemployed, he persuaded the victims that he could help them emigrate to Europe.
According to the daily, the fake agent offered to help them to emigrate to the Netherlands on the pretext that Dutch authorities pay immigrants based on their level of education. He also promised them that he would intervene with officials at the Dutch Embassy and with Moroccan diplomats to facilitate their departure.
The police arrested the man in a cafe in Casablanca after two victims had filed complaints. The victims had given him MAD 30,000 in advance but were suspicious when he asked for more.
During the investigation, the man continued to claim to be an intelligence services agent and then to be a police commissioner. Eventually, the man confessed to having been a scammer for several years.”

“A 28-year-old woman managed to escape by throwing herself out of a moving car after being held captive for three days and repeatedly raped and beaten by her ex boyfriend, sources said on Monday.
The man, a 30-year-old Albanian national with a criminal record, was tracked down by police in Foligno, near Perugia, and arrested.
The woman, the mother of two children, was kidnapped last Wednesday and held captive until her dramatic escape on Friday during a journey to Rome…”
Italy government wins confidence vote on decree targeting migrant rescue ships
ROME (Reuters) – The Italian government on Monday won a confidence vote in the Senate on a decree targeting charities operating migrant rescue ships, in a victory for Interior Minister Matteo Salvini and his far-right League party.
The government of the League and the anti-establishment 5-Star Movement has been riven by internal strife in recent weeks but won the vote by 160 to 57. It would have had to resign had it lost the motion.
The decree drawn up by Salvini, who also serves as deputy prime minister, toughens sanctions on charity ships that seek to bring migrants rescued in the Mediterranean to Italy.
The decree had already been passed by the lower house and so now becomes law just a couple of days before parliament closes on Wednesday for the summer recess.
Some 5-Star politicians have expressed reservations about the decree, and some of its senators did not back it in Monday’s vote.
Their defection was compensated by the fact the center-right opposition party Forza Italia did not take part in the vote, saying they agreed with the aims of the decree.
Confidence votes are often used by Italian governments as a way of speeding legislation through parliament, truncating debate and sweeping away opposition amendments.
The decree hikes maximum fines for ships that enter Italian waters without authorization to 1 million euros ($1.12 million) from a previous 50,000. It also provides for the arrest of captains who ignore orders to stay away and calls on naval authorities to seize their boats automatically.
Salvini has clashed repeatedly with humanitarian groups that pick up migrants off the coast of Libya with the aim of bringing them to Italy, preventing them from docking until other EU countries agree to take in most of them.
In June, the German vessel Sea-Watch, captained by Carola Rackete, was seized when it entered the port of Lampedusa without permission. Rackete was later freed from house arrest, prompting Salvini to denounce the judge who issued the ruling.
Salvini’s popularity has soared on the back of his uncompromising, anti-migrant position.
A poll by the Winpoll agency published on Friday in business daily Il Sole 24 ore put support for the League at 39%, making it easily the country’s most popular party with more than double its share of vote at last year’s parliamentary election.

“THE BBC has had to apologise after presenter Stacey Dooley labelled an Islamic gesture an “IS salute” when she met Islamic State brides at al-Hawl Camp in Kurdish-controlled northern Syria for a documentary.
The Panorama episode has been edited after the television presenter made the unfortunate error during footage of the Muslim women raising their fingers towards the sky. The index figure being raised is an Islamic symbol of the oneness of God and is widely used by Muslims across the globe. Ms Dooley, who is the Strictly Come Dancing champion, said on a trailer for the programme: “As we left the camp, we saw women raising their index finger in an IS salute.”
Outraged viewers took to social media to explain that Muslims often use this gesture when they are praying.
Following the complaints, the BBC has edited the line out of the documentary.
BBC journalist Anisa Subedar tweeted: “This issue raised by @OzKaterji and others needs to be addressed before tonight’s #Panorama is aired. Raising the finger is NOT an IS salute.
“Does #StaceyDooley know us Muslims raise it everytime we pray (that’s 5 times a day) to remind us of the oneness of God?”
Journalist Oz Katerji described the error as an “ignorant blunder”….”
Yes. It IS and WAS an Islamic State salute, and in the context, triply so as they were swearing allegiance to Al Baghdadi at the freaking time!
