Daily Links Post graphic

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

  1. Bill of Rights.
    “Amendment 1
    – Freedom of Religion, Speech, and the Press

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, or abridging the freedom of speech or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

    Amendment 2
    – The Right to Bear Arms

A well-regulated Militia being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed.”

4th of July, got us here. Defend and exercise these rights or they will be taken from the timid.

“The Lord said to Moses and Aaron, 9 “When Pharaoh says to you, ‘Perform a miracle,’ then say to Aaron, ‘Take your staff and throw it down before Pharaoh,’ and it will become a snake.”

10 So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and did just as the Lord commanded. Aaron threw his staff down in front of Pharaoh and his officials, and it became a snake. 11 Pharaoh then summoned wise men and sorcerers, and the Egyptian magicians also did the same things by their secret arts: 12 Each one threw down his staff and it became a snake. But Aaron’s staff swallowed up their staffs

May we all freely throw down our staffs so that the best will gobble up the rest so that we leave our captors. Our independence day.

    Thank you Vlad.

    • 10 So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and did just as the Lord commanded. Aaron threw his staff down in front of Pharaoh and his officials, and it became a snake.

Over five thousand years ago, Moses said to the children of Israel, “Pick up your shovels, mount your asses and camels, and I will lead you to the Promised Land.”

Nearly 75 years ago Roosevelt said, “Lay down your shovels, sit on your asses, and light up a Camel, this is the Promised Land.”

Today, Congress has stolen your shovel, taxed your asses, raised the price of Camels and mortgaged the Promised land!

  2. Happy Independence day US. Remember, behind every Pharaoh exist a lot of maligned people.

  3. Royal Marines storm supertanker off coast of Gibraltar heading for Syria full of crude oil (express, Jul 4, 2019)
    https://www.express.co.uk/news/world/1148892/oil-tanker-syria-gibraltar-panama-royal-marines-news

“BRITISH Royal Marines have stormed a super tanker off the coast of Gibraltar after suspecting it of carrying crude oil to Syria in a breach of European Union sanctions.

In a statement, the Government said it had reasonable grounds to believe the Grace 1 vessel was carrying its shipment of crude oil to the Banyas Refinery in Syria. It published regulations on Wednesday to enforce the sanctions against the vessel and its cargo. Gibraltar’s Chief Minister Fabian Picardo said: “That refinery is the property of an entity that is subject to European Union sanctions against Syria.

“With my consent, our Port and Law Enforcement agencies sought the assistance of the Royal Marines in carrying out this operation.”

Mr Picardo added: “In the early hours of this morning, Gibraltar Port and Law Enforcement agencies, assisted by a detachment of Royal Marines, boarded a super tanker carrying crude oil to Syria.

“We have detained the vessel and its cargo.

“This action arose from information giving the Gibraltar Government reasonable grounds to believe that the vessel, the Grace 1, was acting in breach of European Union sanctions against Syria.

“In fact, we have reason to believe that the Grace 1 was carrying its shipment of crude oil to the Banyas Refinery in Syria.

“That refinery is the property of an entity that is subject to European Union sanctions against Syria.”

The EU Syrian Sanctions Regime was established in May 2011 and includes financial, trade and transport sanctions.

The sanctions imposed by the bloc are against 277 Syrian officials and restrict the Syrian economy in response to violent repression from civilians.

The EU has frozen the assets of more than 70 countries and introduced an embargo on Syrian oil.

Mr Picardo added in his statement: “As the sanctions being enforced are established by the EU, I have written this morning to the Presidents of the European Commission and Council, setting out the details of the sanctions which we have enforced.”

The Foreign Office said in a statement: “We welcome this firm action by the Gibraltarian authorities, acting to enforce the EU Syria Sanctions regime.”

  4. London bloodbath: Man dies after horrific broad daylight stabbing in Battersea (express, Jul 4, 2019)
    https://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/1148628/london-stabbing-knife-crime-battersea-latest-update-police-hospital

“A MAN is fighting for his life in hospital after being stabbed in broad daylight in south west London this afternoon.

Scotland Yard were called Latchmere Road, in Battersea, at 2.45pm, where the man was taken to hospital. There have no arrests. A crime scene remains in place.

Road closures have been put in place on Latchmere Road at the junction with Battersea Park Road all the way down to Sheepcote Lane.

A recent wave of fatal stabbings in London has been cast as a national emergency by some police officers and politicians.

It has prompted a debate about the significant decline in police funding over recent years.

There were 285 fatal stabbings in England and Wales in 2018, the highest level since records began more than 70 years ago.

The Metropolitan Police said there had been 67 reported murders in London so far in 2019….”

  5. Australian Govt Drawing Up Laws to Keep Out Returning ISIS Fighters – for Two Years (breitbart, Jul 4, 2019)
    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2019/07/04/australian-govt-drawing-up-laws-to-keep-out-returning-isis-fighters-for-two-years/

“Australia’s government on Thursday proposed new laws that would prevent extremist Australians from returning home for up to two years, as the country prepares for the repatriation of Islamic State group supporters from the Middle East.

Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton introduced the legislation based on British law as part of a raft of counterterrorism and asylum seeker bills in the first parliamentary session since elections in May.

The law would give Dutton the power to prevent suspected Australian extremists from returning home for up to two years while law enforcement authorities made plans to manage the risk posed. The orders could also apply to Australians who intelligence agencies assess to be a “risk to security for reasons related to politically motivated violence.”

Dutton said 230 Australians had flown to Syria and Iraq to fight with extremist groups since 2012.

“Around 80 are still active in conflict zones. The advice of Australia’s national security agencies is that many Australians of counterterrorism concern who have traveled to Iraq and Syria to engage in that conflict are likely to seek to return to Australia in the very near future,” Dutton told Parliament.

“This bill will ensure that law enforcement agencies can effectively manage these returns in a way that will reduce the threat to the Australian community,” he added.”

  6. Sweden: Female Cops Told to Submit to Islamic State or Be Raped (breitbart, Jul 4, 2019)
    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2019/07/04/convicted-man-urged-swedish-female-cops-submit-isis-be-raped/

“A 34-year-old man in Sweden has been convicted of uttering threats after telling two female police officers to submit to Islamic State or face being raped.

Fadi Daoud was convicted last week for the threats made in Norrköping in May 2017. Police had responded to a call after the 34-year-old was seen climbing onto a balcony and when he resisted calls to take his hands from his pockets, the officers were forced to subdue him, Nyheter Idag reports.

“Fadi screamed several words of ignorance against us like ‘whore’, ‘pussy cop’, and ‘pig bastard’ and that we would submit to Islamic State because he would otherwise rape both of us,” one of the officers said.

After managing to detain the 34-year-old, officers say he continued to insult them and threaten them with rape on the way to the police station.

“He talked about Islamic State and asked us do we know what they do with ‘whores’ like us,” the officer said, adding that Daoud also made threats against her and her fellow officer’s families.

While legal proceedings began in November 2017 and a trial date was originally set for January 2018, the process faced delays. In the end, Daoud was sentenced to a brief three months in prison with fines to be paid to the two policewomen.

This incident is just the latest for the 34-year-old, who has reportedly been involved in 21 cases since 2001 and was previously convicted of several other crimes including abuse and drug offences…”

  7. Migration-Background Youths Show Up at French School to ‘Beat Whites’ (breitbart, Jul 4, 2019)
    https://www.breitbart.com/europe/2019/07/04/migrant-background-teens-french-school-to-beat-whites/

“A group of four underage youths were arrested Tuesday after targetting a private school in the commune of Valence claiming that they were there to “beat whites.”

The incident took place at L’Institution Notre-Dame (IND), a private school that has seen a number of assaults from the end of April through to the end of May by the suspects, who were identified and arrested earlier this week, France Bleu reports.

The four arrested youths are students from other schools in the commune and said they wanted to beat “gwer” — a slang term derived from the word “gaouri” which is used as a pejorative by migration-background individuals against native white French.

Four pupils reported being assaulted by the group within the span of a month, with each incident seeing the four locate one of the victims after school and spit on them as well as kick, punch, and slap them.

The two oldest members of the group are set to be brought before a judge while the two youngest, aged 11 and 12, are only being brought before educators. All were given a curfew and banned from the premises of the IND.

Several others who watched the beatings but did not participate have also been identified by police.

The attacks are just the latest anti-white, racially-motivated attacks in France, and come only months after a 37-year-old attacked police in Limoges while denigrating the officers as “dirty whites.”

Anti-white sentiment has also become prevalent in French rap music, including that of rapper Nick Conrad who released a song advocating for the hanging of white people and the killing of white infants.

“I enter day care centres and kill white babies. Catch them quickly and hang their parents. Spread them apart to pass the time, to entertain black children of all ages young and old,” Conrad’s song ‘Hang the Whites’ states.

Earlier this year Conrad released another anti-French song, which portrayed him murdering a white woman wearing Christian jewellery.”

  8. US, Taliban scramble to rewrite draft on troop withdrawal (abcnews, Jul 4, 2019)
    https://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/us-taliban-scramble-rewrite-draft-troop-withdrawal-64125274

“Taliban and U.S. negotiators are scrambling to rewrite a draft agreement that will outline the withdrawal of American and NATO troops from Afghanistan and a verifiable Taliban guarantee to fight terrorism ahead of an all-Afghan peace conference Sunday.

Officials familiar with the talks, but not authorized to speak about them, say negotiations went late into the night on Wednesday and were to resume again on Thursday — the sixth day of direct talks between the insurgents and U.S. envoy Zalmay Khalilzad.

Suhail Shaheen, spokesman for the Taliban’s political office in Qatar, told The Associated Press on Thursday that “the talks are continuing and they will continue tomorrow as well. We have made some progress.”

Previously he said that a draft agreement was being rewritten to include agreed-upon clauses. On Thursday he said the two sides had broadened their discussion, without elaborating.

Until now two sides had been divided on the withdrawal timetable, with the United States seeking more time.

Taliban officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity, earlier said the U.S. was seeking up to 18 months to complete a troop withdrawal even as U.S. President Donald Trump told Fox News earlier this week that a withdrawal had already quietly begun and that troop strength had been cut to 9,000. The president’s statement has since been contradicted by a senior U.S. official, who said the force strength is unchanged at about 14,000.

Still, Trump’s statements reinforced the president’s often stated desire to leave Afghanistan and end America’s 18-year war — the longest in his country’s history.

His eagerness to pull out has strengthened the position of the Taliban, who effectively control half the country and won a key concession in the planning of the upcoming peace gathering, which will include no official delegation from the Afghan government.

Germany and Qatar, who are co-sponsoring the dialogue and issuing the invitations, said participants will attend “only in their personal capacity,” a condition President Ashraf Ghani has strenuously opposed. He has made no comment on Sunday’s meeting.

The Taliban have steadfastly refused to talk to Ghani’s government, calling it a U.S. puppet, but have said government officials can attend the conference as private citizens.

In a tweet on Wednesday, Shaheen said 60 people will attend the peace gathering, which Khalilzad called an “essential element” in achieving a peace agreement in Afghanistan.

Atta-ul-Rahman Salim, deputy head of a government-appointed peace council, said the delegation from Kabul will include a cross-section of Afghanistan’s civil society, including women’s rights activists.

“It is a good first step to hear each other’s side,” he said.

Former Afghan President Hamid Karzai, who attended two previous meetings with the Taliban in Moscow, told The Associated Press he won’t be attending the Doha gathering because he will be in China. But, he added, “I fully support the coming intra-Afghan dialogue in Doha and am in the picture.””

  9. EU CHOICES FOR TOP POSTS A REFLECTION OF POLICIES THAT LED TO ITS CURRENT MESS
The most striking announcement is of course that of the top job, the German Defence Minister Ursula von der Leyen as Commission president. Because the Commission has a monopoly over the whole legislative and executive process in the EU institutions, this body is the motor which drives the whole machine. The parliament, by comparison, is powerless. The fact that Germany has now acquired control of the most important EU institution is remarkable, not least because it is the first time a German has held this post since the very first Commission president, Walter Hallstein, who had the job between 1958 and 1967. In the intervening decades, and especially since 1990, Germany has emerged as the hegemonic power in the EU and nothing is decided in Brussels without Berlin’s agreement. In short, faced with an existential crisis and a severe lack of credibility, the EU’s message to its voters and the world is: Business as usual. John Laughland

  10. THAT PROGRESSIVE PARADISE (AKA THE EU) DOES IT AGAIN
I saw a Tweet overnight suggesting the so-called progressive British Remainers had been a little quiet in recent days following the comical display of anti-democratic, corporatism aka filling leadership positions in the EU and the Eurozone. Where are they? Why aren’t they out there in the media (social or otherwise) extolling the virtues of their much-loved European Union, where progressive policies are the norm and the peoples’ interests are held above the narrow corporate interests? The problem is that they cannot show up at present. The EU has managed to appoint a cabal of new leaders, many of whom are plagued by past scandals, allegations of nepotism, convictions for negligence in public office, and the Presidential nominee is under investigation in the Bundestag and has been acknowledged as a failure in her management of the German defense department. Come to think of it they seem perfect for the top jobs in the EU. And how was this motley lot selected? By denying even the limited sense of democracy that has been present in this process in the past. It is beyond a joke. But then this is the Europhile cosmo left’s vision for the future. One could not dream all this stuff up one they tried. Bill Mitchell

  13. INDEPENDENCE DAY AND WHAT MADE AMERICA GREAT IN THE FIRST PLACE
July 4 is a purely American holiday that speaks to our faith as a nation. As Thanksgiving Day is about returning thanks for God’s providence in sustaining the early colonists through a hard and desolate period, Independence Day is about the faith that compelled us to declare our independence from a tyrannical power. It is interesting that the United States celebrates the day we declared our independence instead of the day we obtained it. It is doubtful that one in a hundred Americans can tell you the date the Brits surrendered or when England recognized us as a free and independent nation, but most Americans are at least vaguely aware that we declared ourselves independent on July 4, 1776. We considered ourselves free when we declared it; we did not need the recognition of our captors to make it so. C Mitchell Shaw

  14. WORLD RELIGION – THE LAST PIECE NEEDED TO ESTABLISH A WORLD ORDER
To achieve a religion that fits all people, one of the key strategies will be to dumb down enough of society to have critical mass; that is the only way Americans will be willing to having their values, attitudes, and beliefs transformed from free-thinking individualists who put their beliefs in the Constitution and the Rule of Law to preserve Western culture, and become useful idiots to the UN. How do they go about this? Our values, attitudes, and beliefs must be “removed from our minds”. In simple language, brainwashing and programming. “To achieve world government, it is necessary to remove from the minds of men, their individualism, loyalty to family traditions, national patriotism and religious dogmas.” Kathleen Marquardt

  16. FRANCE: THE REAL EMMANUEL MACRON
? Charles de Gaulle refused to speak of the many French who had collaborated with the authorities of the German occupation. He refused to commemorate D-Day. He even went on to claim that the Normandy landings had “not been the beginning of the liberation of France,” but “the starting point of an American attempt to colonize France”.
? President Emmanuel Macron went one step further, saying that France and Germany should create a European army to “protect themselves against Russia, China, and even the United States”.
? France also supported the PLO at a time when it was openly a terrorist movement, unreservedly dedicated to destroying Israel and murdering Jews….. Macron continues the same policy as his predecessors. He never misses an opportunity to invite the current Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas to the Elysée Palace and he never forgets to kiss him.
? President Donald Trump now knows Macron. 17. A GERMAN EUROPE
BERLIN/BRUSSELS(Own report) – Yesterday, following fierce power struggles, the EU heads of states and governments nominated Germany’s Defense Minister Ursula von der Leyen to become the next President of the EU Commission. The most influential position in Brussels’ bureaucracy would thus be going to a German politician. Prior to this nomination, also high-ranking politicians from other EU countries had remarked that it is “difficult to explain” that a German should head the Commission, “given the power” Germany exercises in the EU. In fact, not only is EU policy increasingly being shaped by Berlin, but Germans also preside in a growing number of leadership positions within EU administrations, particularly those in the field of finance, but also in the EU-parliament – especially where legislative work is coordinated – and in the field of foreign policy. According to a renowned French EU expert, Germany remains “European” oriented, “because it has created a ‘German Europe’ solely serving German interests.”

  18. Iraq: ISIS Sleeper Cells Revived on Demand (aawsat, Jul 4, 2019)
    https://aawsat.com/english/home/article/1797551/iraq-isis-sleeper-cells-revived-demand

“The ISIS terrorist organization doesn’t pose a serious threat to Iraq, however, its sleeper cells are dangerous, according to Iraqi officials and security experts.

Iraqi leaders and officials still believe the military institution is capable of inflicting defeats on ISIS cells, despite warnings against the emergence of new ranks of the terrorist organization, according to a US report released this week.

The only thing ISIS is capable of doing now is to occupy the security forces and services, claims security expert Fadel Abu Raghef.

Speaking to Asharq Al-Awsat, the expert indicated that ISIS’ activity will not affect official bodies’ pursuit of the terrorist organization, questioning the organization’s ability to affect the security given that Iraqi intelligence and military performance have developed a lot during the past years, and local community’s rejection of these terrorists.

Firefighters have successfully put out a fire at a strategic oil pipeline in northern Iraq that links oil-rich Kirkuk to the Turkish port of Ceyhan, a security source told Reuters on Wednesday, adding that the pipeline is currently not operational.

The source explained that the fire started after six improvised explosive devices went off in succession in the Ain al-Jahsh village of Nineveh province’s Shura sub-district, 70 km south of Mosul.

Sinjar mayor Mahma Khalil Agha warned of ISIS sleeper cells in the disputed Sinjar district between Erbil and Baghdad.

Agha said in a statement that every now and then, these cells attack farmers and Yazidi farm workers in Gohbal village, near Jari.

He added that four cars carrying armed fighters attacked farmers and Yazidi workers in the village, and the farmers thwarted the attack without any help from army units, which did not lift a finger.

The mayor called for the replacement of the army forces in the region because of their inability to control security.

He pointed out that the activities of these sleeper terrorist cells can bring back migration among Yazidis, and lead to disruption of all plans devised by the Iraqi government for the return of displaced persons to their areas.

In other news, directorate of Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF) announced the death of two ISIS elements and the destruction of four vehicles, south of Tal Afar to the west of Mosul.

PMF’s “Security Media Unit” announced the death of four terrorists in a tunnel in Nineveh. The unit announced that during a pre-emptive operation, a joint force killed four terrorists who were inside a tunnel in the Sheikh Ibrahim mountain range.”

  21. Suspect again confesses to Utrecht mass shooting in first hearing, denounces laws, judges
    https://nltimes.nl/2019/07/01/suspect-confesses-utrecht-mass-shooting-first-hearing-denounces-laws-judges

Gokmen T. again confessed to being responsible for a mass shooting on a tram in Utrecht and killing four people during the first pro-forma hearing in the case against him on Monday. He also denounced the Dutch legal system. “I don’t recognize your laws, I don’t recognize your judges”, he said in the court in Utrecht on Monday morning, according to AD reporter Yelle Tieleman, tweeting live from the courtroom.
On March 18th a man opened fire on a tram on 24 Oktoberplein. A total of four people were killed, three died on the day of the shooting, and the other a week later. Suspected gunman Gokmen T. was arrested hours after the incident. He confessed to the shooting and told the authorities that he was working alone. The 37-year-old man is facing charges of murder or manslaughter with terrorist intent, attempts thereto, and threats with terrorist intent.
There is a great deal of evidence that this attack had a terrorist motive, the Public Prosecutor said in court. A note found in T.’s getaway car read, among other things: “I do this for my faith. You kill my fellow believers.” This is the first time the content of this note was revealed. T. also had handwritten text on the silencer of the gun he used. This is noteworthy, because the right-wing extremist perpetrator of attacks on two mosques in Christchurch, New-Zealand, also had handwritten text on his firearms. That attack happened three days before the mass shooting in Utrecht.
    T. also made similar statements during questioning, the Prosecutor said. He said things like: “I don’t let anyone mock our faith. I want to show that you are not diamond, and we are not sand. If I had a thousand lives, I would give them all to Allah. I will not let anyone stop our faith.” When the court asked why he opened fire on the tram on 24 Oktoberplein, he said “You don’t want to understand me. Who are you to kill Muslims? Every day 100 or 150 Muslims are killed.”
There is security camera footage of the shooting in the tram, the Prosecutor revealed. “These images are too intense to allow at a public trial.” An animated reconstruction will therefore be used instead in the trial.
The Prosecutor also explained why Gokmen T. was free on March 18th, while various criminal cases were still pending against him. His pre-trial custody was suspended a few days before the mass shooting. “If it had not been suspended, this horrific crime would not have happened on that day, 18 March. That thought must be unbearable for the bereaved”, the Prosecutor said. “But there were no signs that the suspect would commit such a crime as the shooting in the tram. He was known as an annoying person, a revolving-door-criminal, but there were no sings that he was radicalizing.”
The suspect did not want to attend this hearing, but the court ordered him to do so. Over the next two months, his mental state will be examined in the Pieter Baan Center. The next proforma hearing is scheduled for September 23rd?. The actual trial is expected to start early next year, likely in January.
    T. said in court that he also does not want to attend the next hearing. When hearing this, the father of a 19-year-old woman killed in the mass shooting shouted at him: “Coward! Coward! You’re a pig!”

“NHS hospitals are falling into disrepair with collapsed ceilings, sewage leaks, and babies left to freeze amid heating failures, an investigation has found.

Freedom of Information disclosures reveal that almost half of hospitals have reported incidents affecting clinical services as a result of building problems in the last year.

NHS trusts said patients were moved, had operations delayed, amid a catalogue of failings, including cases where sewage leaked on to corridors, wards and even beds.

A West Midlands trust reported an incident where faeces spurted through a sink, soaking a patient’s bed, and floor. Another described “ceiling leakage” and said that on one occasion, the labour ward was left so cold that they were unable to keep babies warm.

In total, 170 trusts responded to the request from the Labour Party, with 76 of those citing clinical service incidents due to estates and infrastructure failures in 2018/19.

In one trust in Yorkshire and the Humber, faeces were coming through the floor in the ultrasound corridor and call bells were found to be broken on a ward, meaning patients would have struggled to ask for help.

One trust in the North West had a ceiling collapse on a side ward, water leaking on to a maternity landing, and a broken lift which trapped two nurses inside.

Part of an Accident & Emergency department was closed at a London trust due to a “severe” sewage leak. In another London trust, water came through the ceiling on to a patient’s bed and several patients had to be moved.

An East Midlands trust saw sewage coming up through the drains in bathrooms, which led to water flooding into the ward corridor. Only one shower room was then available for 19 patients.

Another said operations were cancelled after a water leak.

The disclousres come as the cost of the NHS maintenance backlog reached almost £6bn.

Jonathan Ashworth, shadow health and social care secretary, said: “Years of Tory cuts are pushing hospitals to rack and ruin. From ceilings collapsing, sewage pipes bursting to central heating faltering patient safety and care put at risk.

“The NHS now faces a staggering £6 billion repair bill, £3 billion of which is considered ‘high’ or ‘significant’ risk.”

A Department of Health and Social Care spokesman said: “We want patients to receive world-class care so we’re investing £3.9 billion to upgrade facilities, which is already improving A&Es, buying cutting edge technology and putting more beds on wards up and down the country.

“The NHS Long Term Plan, backed by an extra £33.9 billion a year by 2023/24, sets out ambitions to further modernise the health service over the next ten years and we will consider capital funding proposals from the NHS in the Spending Review later this year.””

    • Gibraltar detains Syria-bound super tanker with Iranian oil
By ARITZ PARRA and JON GAMBRELLtoday

MADRID (AP) — Authorities in Gibraltar said they intercepted Thursday a super tanker believed to be breaching European Union sanctions by carrying a shipment of Iranian crude oil to war-ravaged Syria, while a senior Spanish official said the operation was requested by the United States.

Gibraltar port and law enforcement agencies, assisted by Britain’s Royal Marines, boarded the Grace 1 early Thursday, authorities on the British overseas territory at the tip of Spain said in a statement.

It added that the vessel was believed to be headed to the Baniyas Refinery in Syria, which is a government-owned facility under the control of Syrian President Bashar Assad and subject to the EU’s Syrian Sanctions Regime.

    • Rouhani: Iran will enrich uranium to ‘any amount we want’

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Iran’s president warned that Tehran will increase its enrichment of uranium to “any amount that we want” beginning on Sunday, putting further pressure on European nations to save its faltering nuclear deal and offer a way around intense U.S. sanctions.

President Hassan Rouhani’s threat, combined with Iran surpassing the stockpile limits of the 2015 atomic accord, could narrow the estimated one-year window it would need to produce enough material for a nuclear weapon, something Iran denies it wants but the deal sought to prevent.

But as tensions rise a year after President Donald Trump unilaterally withdrew America from the deal, it looks unlikely that Europe can offer Iran a way to sell its oil on the global market despite U.S. sanctions.

All this comes as the U.S. has rushed an aircraft carrier, B-52 bombers and F-22 fighters to the region and Iran recently shot down a U.S. military surveillance drone. “Be careful with the threats, Iran. They can come back to bite you like nobody has been bitten before!” Trump tweeted in response to Rouhani’s warning.

On Wednesday, Iran also marked the anniversary of the U.S. Navy shooting down an Iranian passenger jet in 1988, a mistake that killed 290 people and shows the danger of miscalculation in the current crisis.

  29. Mexican police revolt against plans to join National Guard
    By CHRISTOPHER SHERMANyesterday

MEXICO CITY (AP) — Hundreds of federal police blocked highways in and around Mexico’s capital Wednesday in open revolt against plans to absorb the officers into the newly formed National Guard, a move that the police fear could upend their jobs.

The protests came as the government officially began deploying the National Guard to try to seal the country’s porous southern border and control immigration and crime. The demonstrations threatened to complicate the formation of the new force, which President Andrés Manuel López Obrador has bet Mexico’s future security on.

Uniformed officers blocked a major expressway in front of federal police offices in the capital, and another contingent blocked the highway between the city and the Hidalgo state capital of Pachuca. Federal police at a Mexico City command center demanded a meeting with the security secretary.

The president has been dismissive of the federal police, characterizing them as a failed security force. He gave military officers the bulk of the responsibility for the National Guard. The new agency is also seeking new recruits.

  30. Some Police Dumping Controversial Software That Predicts Crime With Data After Finding it Ineffective

The Los Angeles Police Department took a revolutionary leap in 2010 when it became one of the first to employ data technology and information about past crimes to predict future unlawful activity. Other departments around the nation soon adopted predictive policing techniques.

But the widely hailed tool the LAPD helped create has come under fire in the last 18 months, with numerous departments dumping the software because it did not help them reduce crime and essentially provided information already being gathered by officers patrolling the streets.

After three years, “we didn’t find it effective,” Palo Alto police spokeswoman Janine De la Vega said. “We didn’t get any value out of it. It didn’t help us solve crime.”

The Mountain View, Calif., Police Department spent more than $60,000 on the program between 2013 and 2018.

  31. Court Orders Release of Sealed Docs About Jeffrey Epstein’s Alleged Sex Ring

In a blow to the billionaire pedophile and his alleged madam, Ghislaine Maxwell, a federal court ordered the release of sealed court records in a case brought by an alleged victim.

A federal appeals court has ordered the release of sealed court records pertaining to billionaire Jeffrey Epstein’s alleged sex ring—spelling a victory for the victims, whose lawyers said the documents will prove Epstein trafficked underage girls to his famous friends.

On Wednesday, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit ruled certain records in a defamation lawsuit filed by accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre against Epstein’s alleged madam, British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell, should be made public record.

In its opinion, the panel vacated a Manhattan federal judge’s decision to keep the records secret and ordered the summary judgment record in the 2017 case to be unsealed—with minimal redactions—after it issues a mandate closing the case. The court also remanded the case to the district court for a review of the remaining sealed materials.

The court stated that “upon reviewing the summary judgment materials in connection with this appeal, we find that there is no countervailing privacy interest sufficient to justify their continued sealing.”

A timeline for when the summary judgment record would be unsealed isn’t immediately clear.

  32. Arrests made over Hong Kong protests, legislature break-in
    By JOHNSON LAIyesterday

HONG KONG (AP) — Police said they had arrested 13 people after the protests on Monday’s anniversary of Hong Kong’s return to China, including one man accused of storming the legislature building in a break-in involving hundreds of pro-democracy protesters who vandalized offices and the main chamber.

The local man surnamed Poon was arrested in Mong Kok and accused of assaulting police, criminal destruction, misconduct in public places and forced entry of the Legislative Council Complex, police said late Wednesday night.

Eleven men and a woman were arrested in connection with a different protest that took place Monday morning. They face various charges including possession of offensive weapons, unlawful assembly, assaulting a police officer, obstructing a police officer and failing to carry an identity document. The brief statement did not describe the offensive weapons or provide further details.

  33. Suicides rock Hong Kong protest movement as despair grows over city’s independence

A lone man in a yellow raincoat stood on top of the scaffolding at a mall in central Hong Kong.

Nearby was his banner: “Make love no shoot! No extradition to China!”

For hours, police tried to talk Leung down but at around 9pm the 35-year-old jumped to his death, missing the inflatable mattress the officers had prepared to catch him.

In the fortnight since two more protesters have also killed themselves.

At the site of Mr Leung’s death, white flowers and encouraging notes form an impromptu memorial to the deceased. One reads “Believe in our youth! Believe in our people!”

But the deaths are a disturbing consequence of anti-government protests that continue to rock the former British colony – after the marches, the peaceful demonstrations and the ransacking of parliament, a handful of citizens are committing suicide in the ultimate statement of desperation.

    • U.S., U.K. warn against Hong Kong crackdown by Mainland China

      UPDATED 12:29 PM PT — Wednesday, July 3, 2019

Britain and the U.S. are expressing support for the protesters in Hong Kong amid reports of a possible Chinese military crackdown on the city-state.

One America’s Kristian Rouz looks into the matter.

      • Excellent video as usual, Richard. It reflects the sort of crucial optimism (and perseverance) that I was praising both Rita and you for just the other evening.

        [Rant Mode]

The absolute most disgusting thing of all is how those “14 million” off-shored” jobs NEVER NEEDED TO BE SHIPPED OVERSEAS IN THE FIRST PLACE.

        [/Rant Mode]

Gotta switch off the venom because, as with Islam, it’s toxic (just like the Tranzi Globalists intended) and endlessly mulling over those cesspools poisons the mind..

Even Eeyore will confirm what a daily trauma it is to deal with Islam, particularly at a deep level of comprehension that includes worldview politics. Just the other day, all of you saw the illustrious Matt Bracken step in here to give a nod towards the toll taken by regularly wading through this, “morass of shit” (my precise, indecorous words in that thread).

        [Link available upon request]

IN THIS CASE the venom is towards those particular HYPOCRITES that have not a sliver of compunction about selling down the river every last American factory, institution, laboratory, property parcel, voting bloc, financial instrument, derivative, and whatever else isn’t nailed down so they can grub out that last 0.00001% of profit in order that their newborns all shit in silk diapers.

CEO platinum parachutes aside, what return on investment is there for individual shareholders (NOT THE MUTUAL FUND CHURNERS) when small investors end up living in a poverty line, service-based US economy hollowed out by Financial Capitalism?

Do you not think that I have been fed through the corporate meat grinder over and over again watching, gobsmacked at the routine theft of MY intellectual property long before they even could “offshore” it to some Socialist hellhole?

Thank fucking goodness I’ve had the schadenfreude of watching company after high tech (or even a service-based) company or three crash and burn immediately after my sometimes hastened departure. This joyless recreation included seeing JAILED FOR TAX FRAUD, THE ROLLS ROYCE-DRIVING CEO of a company that stole my microwave resistor network design for a Space Shuttle communications circuit (which I retained a copy of the blueprint for my personal archives).

Do you not think I watched the (honorable Industrial Capitalists all, by any measure) proto-Tech Titans react to California’s anti-industrial taxation by instantly exporting their wealth creation engines to other states like Arizona, Idaho, and Texas (all little climate hellholes of their own)? Imagine how that exodus hit my earnings when R&D jobs like mine represent 0.0001% of the professional labor market (and yes, one in ten thousand position are research oriented).

So the venom does tend to brim a wee bit at times when I see across-the-board HYPOCRITES RUIN MY COMMUNITIES, BE THEY BRICK-AND-MORTAR OR ONLINE.

Here’s a tidy example: A few months back I contacted a long-ago colleague who had assisted me with my college lecture series on energy and the environment.

She offered to introduce me at the next big community garden meeting if, in return, I might assist her with carrying some things to the gathering. I immediately agreed to help and arrived at her house a little early to sort things out. This was partly due to her email mentioning how she had been released from the hospital days earlier after a serious cycling accident.

Since it was my first visit, we had an immensely pleasant talk over tea and I drooled over a divine antique sideboard which (as I confidently predicted) had indeed come across the Great Plains in a Conestoga wagon. It only remained for me to guess that it was a family heirloom.

IT WAS AT THAT POINT when she held my hand and lamented how, a relative stranger like me, WAS THE ONLY ONE (FROM AMONGST HER CLAQUE OF ÜBER-LIBERAL “FRIENDS”) WHO HAD EVEN OFFERED TO HELP HER MOVE AROUND SOME SIGNS AND OTHER MEETING-RELATED CRAP (for their regularly scheduled monthly event).

My reason for mentioning this is because THE SIGNS ENDED UP BEING AOC GREEN NEW DEAL lawn turds. Do you think I blinked at helping her and hubby load them into the car and bring them to the garden?

Hell, I was prepared to take them there by myself if she wasn’t feeling well, and had made sure that she knew it in our emails. Incidentally, both her home and the community garden were many miles from my house.

We went to the event, had a blast, people loved my idea for sustainable fiber-board manufacturing from 0% THC hemp and applauded my openly Conservative support for local food security on a town-by-town basis. I could not doff enough hats to the beautiful and productive urban agriculture that they had nurtured for over ten years.

My friend and I parted ways after the garden meeting and I NEVER HEARD FROM HER AGAIN. After sending her a few cordial emails and even leaving a voice message at her home. NOTHING.

Evidently, whilst telling me about her family history surrounding the heirloom sideboard I responded to her mention of coming from a transgendered family with how that was just fine but I was having serious concerns about the subject matter being taught at primary school levels.

SHE WAS A FUCKING HYPOCRITE! Just so long as I was helping to propel the agenda NARRATIVE and her precious political identity, everything was all hunky dory. BUT GETTING UP ON MY CONSERVATIVE HIND LEGS FOR EVEN JUST A SINGLE SPOKEN SENTENCE GOT ME SHIT ON.

Even as all of her Leftist “friends” couldn’t give a fuck about her bone-wracking pain whilst recovering from the bike accident. The last thing I did while we said goodbye was lean in the car (that I had just helped load full of un-taken AOC Green New Deal signs) TO KISS THE TOP OF HER HEAD AND WISH HER BETTER HEALTH.

For that, I am cast HYPOCRISY casts me into the outer darkness.

In Soviet Union HYPOCRISY CONTRADICTS YOU!

        [/Yakov Smirnov]

        • Thank you for the compliment, I my optimism is based on knowledge of history that says that if we will just fight back we can’t lose. I wish I could get more people to understand this, there are far too many people who post that this country is lost or that that country is already a member of he Caliphate. At times the number of people who seem to think that the only course is to surrender is depressing, especially when I have a weather induced sinus headache like now.

My optimism is also fueled by the way so many people around the world are willing to step up to challange the wanna be dictators and fight for their (and others) freedom. Ezra, Tommy Robinson, Avi Yemani and the femal ex Brit cop spring to mind along with so many others. I am going my best to ensure that others will continue to fight until we are free, I am doing this because at age 72 it is doubtful that I will live long enough to see the end of this war. With luck we are seeing the end of the long beginning of this war, but the middle and end of the war will b e much longer. Don’t ever give up, that is the only war we can lose, if we continue to fight we can’t help but win.

China talks about total war with economics as one of the weapons to be used. With President Trump talking about devaluing the Dollar we are entering into total war and we are going to see several. of our overseas enemies panic because this action will cause their products suddenly become much less attractive. If we can keep him in power for another term thngs will be much better and if we can find another person who understands business (external and internal) the way Trump does to follow him for 8 more years. We will see the US in a much better shape and our enemies in much worse shape. I can dream about a total collapse of Iran and China but doubt that both will collapse to the point their current governments are replaced. Having Iran collapse to that point will be a great help and having China collapse to the point that most of their schemes will collapse from lack of monetary support will help.

  35. Social media accounts pulled after 8-year-old ‘Mini AOC’ receives death threats from liberals
By Joe Newby July 4, 2019

On Tuesday, LU’s Ben Bowles wrote about a pathetic campaign ad posted to Instagram by the Sanders campaign that was suppose to show that President Donald Trump is frightened by the 77-year-old socialist.

The ad failed in its purpose, but it did raise the ancillary question of what frightens the Democrats. The answer to that — an 8-year-old — was answered on Wednesday when Salvatore Schachter, the stepfather of Ava Martinez (aka, “Mini AOC”) announced that all social media accounts for the youngster were being pulled due to harassment and death threats from unhinged, insane leftists.

“Ava will not being doing any more MINI AOC content,” he said on Twitter. “The Left’s Harassment and death threats have gone too far for our family. We have been getting calls on our personal phone numbers. For our safety and for our child’s safety, we deleted all Mini AOC accounts.”

    • Spectacular rant, Miss Piggy! That old gel rhully went ballistic at the end there with a right good twist of the blade about, “colonies against their empires”. Gadfrey! Them Limeys truly do have a way with their darts words.

But seriously, folks. Brexit on Halloween? YJCMTSU! Life imitates art. The inmates are running the asylum, and God is an Englishman God’s in his garden.

The big question isn’t whether the mask has come off. What reeeally matters is this:

After that masked ball has ended, who’s stuck with the wet spot?

PS: Thank you, Miss Piggy, for all the fantastic work of late. It bwoke my widdle heart that DTube or BitChute or whatever wouldn’t stream your half-hour meisterstück faster than FFA (Frames per Fortnight Animation).

Hahahah. Everyone probably thought I was going to make FFA an acronym for “Fucking Fuck-All”, but I’ve run rings around you logically!

Ecktually, I’d be a HYPOCRITE to say the segment was that slow but she turned me into a newt! it ran just glacially enough to seem like it (I got better…).

      • God is an Englishman

It sure seemed that way when the Brits weren’t afraid to act as if they were just as good as or better then everyone else. Once the left managed to convince them that they were suppose to feel guilty for the actions of their ancestors things changed. Now it is our turn to try and prevent the younger generation from denying the good things we did instead of focusing on the wrong things that were done. If we can do this and President Trump can manage to use economic power to collapse our enemies we stand a decent chance of keeping the US semi under the rule of law. If we can’t it will be a return to full tribalism and a repeat of all of the mistakes made building the rule of law.

        • Now it is our turn to try and prevent the younger generation from denying the good things we did instead of focusing on the wrong things that were done.

It takes a single tool to do so.

People just haven’t learned to NOT view history through the lens of modern morality.

Smash those antiquated, out-of-focus optics and festivities such as European colonization of the Americas and (Western but NOT genitally amputating Islamic) slavery, plus little kerfuffles like Mongol invasions or even more recent Aboriginal displacements all make larger sense (however brutal they often were).

Until that time comes, expect to keep on hearing about forty acres and a mule.

  40. US Nuclear Weapons Deployment in Turkey

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: The American nuclear weapons that remain on Turkish soil – an anachronistic reference to the Cold War – are tactical only. They nevertheless raise questions, not only because of the deterioration in relations between Washington and Ankara, but because of security and safety risks at the Turkish base where the weapons are stored – close to the Syrian border.

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) was established between North America and ten Western European countries to protect the member states from Soviet aggression. Over the years, more countries have joined NATO – including Turkey, which joined in 1952.

NATO developed a nuclear doctrine aimed at deterring the Soviet Union from using nuclear weapons against the West. In this context, a “Nuclear Sharing” program was agreed upon. This program entailed the deployment and storage of American nuclear weapons in five NATO member states: Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, Italy, and Turkey.v
