“Dozens of married children and thousands of female genital mutilation survivors have been identified in Sweden in recent years amid mass immigration into the Nordic country.
Sweden’s “red-green” government comprised of the Social Democrats and the Greens have together with the Centre Party and the Liberals prepared a 73-point settlement with measures against so-called honour-related crimes, including forced marriage and various types of oppression.
Among other things, this involves introducing a travel ban for children under the age of 18 who are at risk of forced marriage or genital mutilation. The children’s rights to hold a Swedish passport will also be restricted.
The proposal has already mustered very broad support in the parliament. Apart from the bill’s sponsors, it has been backed by the centre-right Moderates and the right-wing Sweden Democrats.
“Unfortunately, we are getting more and more reports about children being taken out of Sweden to their home countries and mutilated in abominable ways, and no child should ever be involved in this”, Moderate Party legal spokesman Johan Forssell explained to Swedish Radio.
The government investigators suggest that anyone who, in violation of the travel ban, abducts a child from Sweden, or promotes an illegal trip abroad, should be sentenced to fines or imprisonment for a maximum of one year.
However, many believe this is too lenient.
“It should be significantly higher. One like Britain has, a maximum of five years and perhaps with a minimum penalty of one or two years. A big raise”, Mikael Eskilandersson, the Sweden Democrats’ spokesperson on family law issues, told Swedish Radio.
“There is an obvious risk then that it is not seen as serious enough. For example, we know for certain that a group of people can sacrifice a member in their collective to commit this crime. If it is punished with a fine, there is a risk that you do not get the desired effect”, the Liberals’ Juno Blom of the Justice Committee suggested.
Still, the travel ban is not uncontroversial. The Justice Ombudsman suggested that there should be “strong reasons” to limit citizen’s constitutional right to leave the country as they please and called for a more detailed analysis of the bill’s consequences. According to Mikael Eskilandersson, though, the gravity of the crimes justifies the means.
“Basically, it’s the only way we can get at the criminals. Therefore, it is justified”, Eskilandersson said.
According to Social Democrat Justice Minister Morgan Johansson, the proposal to tighten regulations is currently being prepared and will be published soon.
Child marriage is a phenomenon most often linked to developing countries in Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Oceania. In the autumn of 2010, the Swedish Tax Agency found 74 cases where one of the parties was under 18 at the time of marriage. A subsequent report called “Married against their will” showed that 8,500 young people aged 16 to 25 were worried about the perspective of forced marriage.
In 2015, at the height of the migrant crisis, at least 132 married minors living in Sweden were identified, most of them girls from Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria. One third of the couples already had children. At numerous occasions, the girl was assigned to the same address as her adult husband, despite the fact that the Swedish social services don’t recognise child marriage.
Female genital mutilation (FGM) is an excruciatingly painful procedure most associated with the Islamic world, such as parts of the the Maghreb, sub-Saharan Africa and parts of the Middle East. Each year, about 3 million girls are at risk of being subjected to some kind of genital mutilation. Sweden’s National Board of Health and Welfare estimated the number of FGM survivors living in Sweden at 40,000 girls and women (of which about 7,000 under the age of 18). The majority of them are from Somalia, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Egypt, and the Gambia, which also happen to be the countries with the highest incidence of FGM seen internationally. Stockholm’s Södersjukhuset hospital alone has seen a mind-boggling increase of 2,000 percent since 2003.
In 2015, Sweden, a nation of 10 million, took in a record 163,000 asylum seekers from predominantly Muslim countries.”

While insisting that censorship of ideas is greatly exaggerated by free speech advocates, writer Martha Gill goes on to make the very argument that defenders of free speech criticize: that the wardens of groupthink have the right to silence opinions that they disagree with.
Coming to the defense of “those who might want to shut down a debate,” Ms. Gill insists that such a measure is not a “mark of intolerance” because “some debates should be shut down.”
“For public dialogue to make any progress, it is important to recognise when a particular debate has been won and leave it there,” she declares in her article, suggestively titled: “Free speech isn’t under threat. It just suits bigots and boors to suggest so.”
Reading between the lines, the lesson becomes: “We are the judges. We will tell you when the debate is over and then you are no longer permitted to express your dissenting opinion.”
As example of debates that are definitively over, Ms. Gill offers absurd positions that she trusts will garner a broad consensus: “whether women should be tried for witchcraft, or whether ethnic minorities should be allowed to go to university, or whether the Earth is flat.”
But Ms. Gill and her editors know that these are not the issues being debated today, and these are not the positions that the Guardian and others of the self-anointed sacerdotal caste decry as heretical.
The real debates that the Guardian and its ilk would like to shut down center on real questions such as abortion, climate change, same-sex marriage, mass migration, gender theory, religious freedom, and sharia law, to name just a few.

Colombe Brossel, security advisor to Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo, wrote a letter to French Interior Minister Christophe Castaner expressing the views of residents.
“A young woman with a tiny baby looked me in the eye and said: ‘When I get out of the subway, there are 200 metres to go, and I am harassed. I do not want to see my child grow up in this environment’,” Brossel said.

Business owners in the area have also grown weary of the rise in crime with some closing their doors.

He is not the first to call for such an inquiry. Both the libertarian Free Democrats (FDP) and the populist Alternative for Germany (AfD) have made similar requests but both have been rejected.
Along with rooting out those who may have made mistakes during the height of the migrant crisis, Maassen said that an inquiry could also put conspiracy theories to rest and possibly cool the social climate in the country as well.
In order for a parliamentary inquiry to take place, around a quarter of the German parliament, the Bundestag, would need to vote in favour of the motion.
Mr Maassen became well-known across Germany after expressing doubt over Germans “hunting” migrants during a riot that occurred following the killing of a local man in Chemnitz by an asylum seeker.
His comments led to a backlash from the left and his eventual removal as head of the BfV by Chancellor Merkel.
He was set up to take an advisory role in the Interior Ministry following his removal but was then forced into early retirement after calling out “radical left forces” in the Social Democrat party, the coalition partner of Merkel’s Christian Democratic Union (CDU).
Earlier this year in Hungary, Maassen spoke out against Merkel’s migrant policy telling Hungarian media: “Integration is possible if you create the legal framework and also get people to integrate or be integrated. Integration can not only be ordered, but integration must also be demanded.”
“My concern is that there is integration, but not integration into German society, but into Arab society, the Salafist society or the Turkish society in Germany, so that we have parallel societies. And from my point of view, that has to be prevented with all our might,” he said.”

Grand Chute police: Kangaroo reportedly seen hopping across Interstate 41 walking bridge
GRAND CHUTE – A motorist driving Monday morning on Interstate 41 reported an unusual sight: a kangaroo hopping across a walking bridge over the busy stretch of highway.
The kangaroo was supposedly seen crossing the walking bridge heading east from Fox Cities Stadium, according to Grand Chute community resource officer Travis Waas.
A single caller reported the kangaroo sighting shortly before 7 a.m. Officers responded to the area, but were “unable to locate any marsupials,” Waas said.
But if officers had found a kangaroo, they would have tried to contain the animal, then would have contacted zoos in the region for help trapping, moving and finding the animal’s owner, Waas said.
A kangaroo sighting isn’t without precedent in northeast Wisconsin. In November, a young kangaroo named Lulu escaped from a home in Shawano County and was hit and killed by a pickup truck.

This has been hot-button issue since 2016 when former President Barack Obama nominated Judge Merrick Garland to the bench.
At the time, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell refused to hold a confirmation hearing or vote because it was an election year. However, McConnell changed his tune when asked if a spot were to open up in 2020 during President Trump’s term.

Spygate: Nunes, ‘parallel tracks’ against Trump, and origins in 2015

Devin Nunes (R-CA) had a wide-ranging interview with Maria Bartiromo on Sunday in which he made a number of important observations. Here I want to focus on two of them.
The whole interview is worthwhile, but to get the gist for following the discussion in this post, you can start around the 9:00 mark (video below). I will look at the later comments first, which then start about 11:15.
Nunes refers in this passage to two “parallel tracks” by which the Democrats were waging a campaign to – in short – spy on and find a way to undermine Trump’s candidacy for president. One track was what Nunes calls the “FBI investigation.” The other was the effort by Hillary Clinton and the DNC to come up with defamatory information about Trump and package it as a narrative for adverse media coverage.
I put the term “FBI investigation” in quotation marks because that’s how Nunes refers to it. I believe it was more than an FBI investigation, and that it’s increasingly misleading to characterize it that narrowly. The evidence is piling up that there was significant, catalytic and instigating involvement by John Brennan and foreign actors, and meaningful involvement by people at the State Department.
That is particularly the case if we fold in Nunes’s key point about the “parallel tracks,” which is that they didn’t start at the end of July 2016. They started much earlier. Nunes believes it was in 2015, and as regular readers know, I think there’s a good case for that.

J.E. says she is starting to believe that Brennan was the puppet master behind the “Spygate” actions, here she is joining Dan Bongino and others. What I find interesting is the timing of the releases of information. Between now and the election there will be a steady drip drip of information that is showing the Dems breaking the laws. From the indication there will be people arrested and possibly going on trial shortly before the election.
Everyone that has been wanting people arrested and tried right now have to remember that if the people are put on trial right now the Propaganda Media will disappear the information down the memory hole before the election. The Democratic Minnesota congresswoman swore that she had not been able to locate the man she married — who the Minneapolis Star Tribune says may or may not be her brother — since 2011. She swore she didn’t know the names of anyone in her husband’s family and that the two had no mutual acquaintances who might know how to contact him.
According to Elmi’s Facebook profile, after attending college in North Dakota he moved to England and then to Nairobi, Kenya — the same city where Omar’s sister, Sahra Noor, lives and works as CEO of Grit Partners. Grit Partners’ website code contains data that indicates Elmi was involved in the creation of either the company’s website or its Instagram account.

This year, Wilders’ lawyers managed to restart the appeal that originally began in 2018. His team alleged that the judges were biased and applied for them to be removed.
PVV leader Geert Wilders was found guilty of inciting “racial discrimination” against Moroccans living in the Netherlands in December 2016. The charges related to a speech Wilders gave at the end of the Dutch regional election campaign in 2014.
He reportedly repoasked a crowd of PVV supporters whether they wanted “more or fewer Moroccans”; after the audience howled for the latter, he responded that he would “take care of that.” Wilders claimed he had been speaking strictly about “criminal Moroccans”, and that Moroccans were not a race. But his defence was not accepted by the court as the panel deemed his remarks as “demeaning and insulting to the Moroccan population”. Since then, he has repeatedly denounced the verdict.
Wilders is internationally known for his anti-Prophet Muhammad remarks and hardline statements about migrants, including promises to ban the Koran and close down mosques. In 2018 he even planned to hold a Prophet Muhammad cartoon competition, but announced his decision to cancel it later, referring to death threats from Muslims and concerns that other people might be in danger.”

A typical Q-Max gas tanker is 345 m (1,132 ft) long, 53.8 m (177 ft) wide, and 34.7 m (114 ft) in height, with a draught of 12 m (39 ft). The Q-Max has a cargo capacity of 266,000 cubic meters (9,400,000 cu ft), equal to 161,994,000 cubic m of natural gas. According to estimates, this amount of fuel can light up 70,000 U.S. homes for one year. Prior to Q-Max, Q-Flex ships were the largest LNG carriers with a maximum capacity of 217,000 m3 (7,633,283 cu ft).”
There’s also Capesize, defined as a: “name is given to ships passing through the Cape of Good Hope and the Cape Horn because they are too big to pass through the canals of Panama and Suez.”
As a separate but, nevertheless key class is the Malaccamax. “In spite of a specific size being assigned to these ships, they are often associated with Very Large Crude Carriers (VLCCs). Lengthwise the ship reaches 400 meters and has the Dead Weight Tonnage (DWT) of 165,000 DWT.
Ultra Large Crude Carriers [ULCCs] are given to supertankers that have Dead Weight Tonnage that range from 320,000 DWT to 550,000 DWT. They happen to be the biggest tanker vessels and operate in specific regions of Europe, North America, and certain Asian harbors and port facilities.

Spend a minute looking at the above comparison chart. Note how Suezmax vessels are not limited in length. As noted at one of the sites: “The largest LNG tanker in the world, Q-Max can easily pass through the Suez Canal.”
BACK TO REALITY. Did we all get that?!? One Q-Max carrier holds an, “amount of fuel [that] can light up 70,000 U.S. homes for one year.” Consider how an “average [US] household consumed 90 million British thermal units (Btu)” annually. Do the math:
70,000 homes x 90,000,000 Btus = 6,300,000,000,000 Btus = 0.63 QUAD
Some other values to back calculate place this in perspective:
MegaTon of TNT to Billion barrel (megabarrel) of oil equivalent: 0.683899
1MT of TNT 3.97 x 10^12 Btus = 0.04 Quad
If my grade school math serves me properly, that makes the 0.63 Quad Q-Max LNG cargo equal to FIFTEEN MEGATONS OF TNT.
Richard, your thoughts, please. This is Ikhwan-supporting Qatar constructing a fleet of floating, nuclear-strength bombs that can slip through the Suez and directly into the Mediterranean. All under cover of legitimate commercial trade with completely plausible deniability if one goes kablooey. Why would South Korea’s treacherous Chaebol be building these things for America’s most dire enemies? Just stir in Iran’s recent servings of Norwegian Limpets á la Omani to get things pretty damn spicy and damn quick, too.

1) I thought both groups of tankers were required to load and off load at off shore facilities, a couple of miles off shore.
an explosion of the multi megston size would create a massive over pressure wave crushing a large area around the port, not as much as an air bust would do but a large portion of the city would be destroyed and the rest damaged. The thermal bloom would ignite a fire storm unless the over pressure wave removed most of the oxy long enough to prevent this.
All ships in port would be destroyed and the port removed from use for several years. The rebuild would be hampered by the need to first remove most of the debris before the rebuild could start. First you would need to clear a road to the waters edge, then remove the debris of the piers, warehouses and ships before any type of rebuild could occur.
An off shore explosion of that magnitude would be as bad because the over pressure wave would reach the shore and wreck almost as much havoc as a burst inside the port. The thermal wave probably wouldn’t reach shore but the tidal wave would and depending on the depth under the exploding ship and the terrain behind the port would have the possiblity of reaching a mile or better inshore.
Depending on which port was attacked the causalities and missing (more missing the proven dead) would range from hundreds of thousands to millions.
The potential of the tankers being used as floating weapons of mass destruction is one of the reasons people want to transport the crude and LNG by pipeline instead of ships.
Given the way most European nations import food the loss of one or more ports would cause massive social unrest and a shortage of food and in the winter heat due to the loss of one of the importing locations.
There would be a large amount of pollution (both air and water) from the disaster and probably disease caused by the loss of the sanitation facilities.
That is all I can think of off the top of my head.

Thank you for clarifying about how an airburst isn’t necessary to cause catastrophic damage.
Your point about the pipelines is especially cogent because (as mentioned in the OP) it appears as though the Iranians are gearing up for a campaign of ship attacks. Why a Q-Max wouldn’t be a target isn’t even worth thinking about.
If the A380-800s weren’t sitting ducks (probably because they are mostly Islamic owned and flown) a Q-Max fleet presents no such sticking points. Additionally, they will reach the targeted audiences almost exclusively—plus the stray indoor WTC-style Muslims who, as always, joyfously end up going along for the ride.
The bigger issue is Korea’s use of membrane tank technology. If you have not already watched the six minute video in my OP, please consider doing so. The tank construction sequence is more than alarming.

Light weight is always desirable but membrane technologies dedicated to minimizing tank contraction factors come with questionable materials and construction techniques that might save lots of money, but may not provide serious structural support.
