Man who shared New Zealand shooting footage sentenced to 21 months in prison
A Christchurch businessman who shared a video of worshippers being slaughtered at a New Zealand mosque has been sentenced to 21 months in prison.
Philip Arps had earlier pleaded guilty to two counts of distributing the video, which was livestreamed on Facebook by a gunman on March 15 as he began killing 51 people at two mosques. He was one of six people charged with sharing the footage.
Judge Stephen O’Driscoll said that when questioned about the video, Arps had described it as “awesome” and showed no empathy toward the victims. The judge said Arps had strong and unrepentant views about the Muslim community, and had compared himself to Rudolf Hess, a Nazi leader under Adolf Hitler.
“Your offending glorifies and encourages the mass murder carried out under the pretext of religious and racial hatred,” the judge said.
O’Driscoll said Arps had sent the video to 30 associates. The judge said Arps also asked somebody to insert crosshairs and include a kill count in order to create an internet meme, although there was no evidence he’d shared the meme.
Arps’ lawyer Anselm Williams told the judge that Arps should not be sent to prison.
“It’s my submission that this court needs to be very careful to sentence Mr. Arps based on what it is that he has actually done, and what he accepts he has done, not on the basis of the views that he holds,” Williams said.
After the hearing, Williams said Arps had filed an appeal against his sentence at the High Court, but declined to comment further.
Arps’ sentencing comes days after the suspected gunman, 28-year-old Brenton Tarrant, pleaded not guilty to 92 charges related to the mass shooting. If Tarrant does not change his plea, his trial is set to begin in May 2020. His next hearing will be Aug. 15.
New Zealand’s Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has helped lead a global pledge named the “Christchurch Call,” aimed at boosting efforts to keep internet platforms from being used to spread hate, organize extremist groups and broadcast attacks. New Zealand has also tightened its gun laws and banned certain types of semi-automatic weapons since the attack.

Mosque shooting: White supremacist Philip Neville Arps jailed for 21 months for distributing footage

A white supremacist who compares himself to Adolf Hitler’s deputy Rudolf Hess and who spread footage of the Al Noor Mosque attack, which he thought was “awesome”, has today been jailed for 21 months.
Christchurch businessman Philip Neville Arps – who owns a white supremacist-themed insulation company – admitted two charges of distributing objectionable publication after the March 15 shootings.
At Christchurch District Court this morning, 44-year-old Arps was told by Judge Stephen O’Driscoll that it was clear he has “strong and unrepentant views towards the Muslim community”.
By spreading the video, and also having another version modified to have crosshairs and a “kill count” added, Arps “glorified” the shootings, the judge said.
And by distributing the video the day after attack showed “particular cruelty on your part” and callousness.
It was, in effect, a hate crime against the Muslim community, the judge said.
When he was arrested and asked by police about the victims’ deaths, he replied, “I could not give a f***”.
Judge O’Driscoll said it was clear that Arps holds “strong and unrepentant views towards the Muslim community”.
“Religion on a whole, Sir,” Arps said from the dock.
A pre-sentence report showed he has no empathy or remorse other than for himself and his own family, the judge said.
Judge O’Driscoll said there were other matters in the pre-sentence report which gave him real concern and he didn’t want to mention them all publicly as it might be seen by Arps as “a badge of honour” to him and others with similar beliefs.
He gave one example where Arps compared himself to Nazi war criminal Rudolf Hess.
The pre-sentence report also noted that he was at a high risk of reoffending.
The court heard that Arps also believes that the mainstream media is corrupt and owned by Zionist media groups.
Arps was jailed for 21 months. The judge said he was not prepared to convert it to an electronically-monitored sentence – saying the primary purpose of sentencing was one of denunciation and deterrence.
Arps had earlier pleaded guilty in April to two charges of distributing video footage of the Al Noor Mosque attack.
Fifty-one people died in the terror attack on two Christchurch mosques on March 15. The first attack at the Al Noor mosque was livestreamed on Facebook.
Arps had previously pleaded guilty to one charge of sharing raw footage from the accused shooter’s livestream to approximately 30 people on Facebook.
He also pleaded guilty to requesting another person add crosshairs and a “kill count” to the video.
The court heard he intended to distribute this modified footage as a meme.
A police statement said Arps had called the modified footage “awesome” and showed no empathy for the people killed.
In 2016, Arps was one of a group of men who filmed themselves doing Hitler salutes as they delivered boxes of pigs heads and offal to the Al Noor mosque.
“White power … Bring on the cull,” Arps was seen saying in the video.
In that case, he was convicted of offensive behaviour and fined $800.

The Netherlands’ two centres for problem asylum seekers are both to be closed down at the end of this year. The centres in Heerenveen and in Amsterdam were opened on two-year contracts in 2017 and were each supposed to house 50 asylum seekers who caused trouble at regular centres and needed to be moved elsewhere. Most of the residents come from safe third countries such as Morocco and face deportation but have not yet been sent back. In Amsterdam, city officials have said they will close the centre as planned. ‘We were being called out to incidents involving the residents at least twice a week,’ a police spokesman told broadcaster NOS. The decision to close the centre had been taken due to the scarcity of property in the Dutch capital and to comply with promises to locals, mayor Femke Halsema said. ‘It is now time for other towns and cities to take on this role,’ she said. In Heerenveen, where the other centre is located, its residents have been banned from several parts of town, including the local shopping centre because of the problems they cause. ‘We have had to deal mainly with people who have no chance of getting a permanent residency permit,’ mayor Niek Loohuis told NOS. The justice ministry has pledged to speed up the assessment of asylum requests by people from safe countries, so they can be sent back as quickly as possible. On Monday it emerged that thousands of rejected migrants are stuck in the Netherlands because their home countries have refused to take them back. Meanwhile, police said on Tuesday that three men were wounded in a stabbing incident at a refugee centre in Harderwijk on Monday night. Two were taken to hospital.

Last Saturday afternoon, a 36-year-old Iraqi and a previously unknown man attacked a 33-year-old Syrian at Pforzheim Central Station. The suspects struck their victim for several minutes with fists against the head, neck and arms. The massive physical confrontation was preceded by an argument between the 36-year-old and his ex-wife. She was accompanied by the 33-year-old and her four children, also at the station. The reason for the dispute is said to have been the haircut of the joint daughter of the former spouses. The federal police are now investigating the 36-year-old ex-husband and his unknown companion for dangerous bodily injury.

An Islamic further education college has been stripped of its title and been barred from awarding grades to its students by education minister Ingrid van Engelshoven. Van Engelshoven was responding to a report by the education inspectorate into management and financial problems at the Europe Islamic University of Applied Sciences (EIUAS) in Rotterdam. The fraud investigation service FIOD launched an inquiry into the college’s fundraising activities in 2016, which was followed by a review by the education department of the effect of fraud on the school’s operation. Inspectors concluded that the college’s board was unable to provide complete accounts for several years and had set its budget at an unrealistic level. The school was placed under extra supervision, but inspectors twice said its situation had not improved. In November Van Engelshoven gave the EIUAS three months’ notice to guarantee its financial and administrative continuity or face closure. She warned that the financial problems were so severe that its status as a place of learning was in doubt. The college has been declared bankrupt and no classes have been taught since February. It will now have to reapply for the right to award grades to students who enrol for its masters course in Islamic Spiritual Counselling. The institution has no formal connections to the Islamic University of Applied Sciences Rotterdam. The development came just days after another Islamic centre of learning, the Cornelis Haga Lyceum in Amsterdam, sought an injunction against the Dutch state to block publication of a report by education inspectors. The lawyer for the school, Wouter Pors, said the report should not be published ‘in its current form’. Dutch media reported that the inspectors had given the school a ‘fail’ rating.
The AIVD security service claimed in a recent report that Amsterdam’s only Islamic secondary school was dominated by ‘Salafist’ influences and a controversial British imam, Haitham al-Haddid had held secret meetings on campus. It also said that the head of the school and his brother donated money to a Chechen terrorist organisation. The school has denied that its curriculum is influenced by fundamentalism and said four Salafists who visited the school had no contact with its pupils.

A Forensic Investigation van was broken into during a police reconstruction of a mass shooting on a tram in Utrecht in March, the Midden-Nederland police confirmed. The thieves got away with a police jacket and police bag, AD reports.
The reconstruction of the mass shooting on 24 Oktoberplein in March happened on Sunday. The area around the square was cordoned off during the reconstruction. How the thieves managed to sneak past all the present authorities, is not clear.
A police spokesperson called the theft a shame. “People took advantage of the situation. That may be called brutal”, he said to AD. He hopes bystanders witnessed the break-in and will come forward.
On Monday the Public Prosecutor also announced that it is considering combining the rape case in which suspected mass shooter Gokmen T. is a suspect with the case around the mass shooting, so that the two cases can be handled simultaneously.

Three hurt in stabbing at Hardewijk asylum center

Three people were injured in a stabbing incident in an asylum center in Hardewijk on Monday night. All three victims are residents of the asylum center, according to the police.
Two of the victims sustained serious injuries, the third only minor ones, NOS reports. They were taken to hospital for treatment.
The police are investigating exactly what happened. As far as is known, no arrests were made.
TU Eindhoven opens academic vacancies for women only

For the next 18 months, the Eindhoven University of Technology is opening vacancies for academic staff exclusively to women, the executive board informed employees and students. The university hopes that this measure will result in one in five of its professors being women by next year, NU.nl reports.
The measure, which forms part of the Irene Curie Fellowship, will take effect on July 1st. An additional budget of 100 thousand euros will be made available for each new employee for their own research, and they will each receive a mentor.
If these female-only vacancies are not filled by suitable women within 6 months, the vacancy will be placed outside the Irene Curie Fellowship program. Then too, the application committee must invite at least one man and one woman to interview.
“We attach great importance to equal rights and opportunities for women and men”, Rector Frank Baaijens of the university said, according to the newspaper. “It has been known for some time that a diverse workforce functions better. “A report by the Swedish Public Health Authority has highlighted a spike in so-called “welfare diseases” among immigrants, which has been attributed to living conditions and lifestyle choices.
Migrants who come to Sweden are less likely to suffer from diabetes, obesity and high blood pressure than people who are born there. However, after only a few years that picture changes, a new report from the Public Health Authority has shown.
For example, only three percent of Africans have diabetes upon arrival, but after only five years in Sweden, their proportion jumps to 14 percent.
Self-reported mental illness is, according to the report, also more common among people born abroad, but varies greatly depending on, among other things, age, sex and the country of birth. However, women tend to report mental illness more often, regardless of their origin.
“This is remarkable. Refugees who come to Sweden are usually quite healthy, and then the health significantly deteriorates”, an amazed Johan Carlson, Director General of the Public Health Authority, told the newspaper Expressen.
The explanation offered by the authorities is that it has to do with both living conditions and lifestyle habits. Migrants have difficulties entering the labour market, suffer exclusion and have a lower disposable income, which all has a negative impact on health.
“We have mainly looked at so-called ‘welfare diseases’ such as diabetes, obesity and high blood pressure and they are more common among foreign-born people who have lived in Sweden for five years or more compared to people who have lived for a shorter time”, Johan Carlson explained.
The report followed a group of foreign-born people who had moved to Sweden in the years 1990–2014. The large number of refugees who came to Sweden in 2015 and later have thus not been included.
“Basically, it is an integration issue”, Carlson suggested. “We know that physical activity and good eating habits are crucial, but many new arrivals do not recognise the local diet and don’t know what is useful. Lack of knowledge and language difficulties affect both what you eat and the possibilities for physical activity. You move less and become very sedentary”.
Poor knowledge of how society works also leads to migrants being less prone to seek medical care during the first few years, Carlson ventured.
On the bright side, young people born outside Europe consume less alcohol than young people born in Sweden, and are less often treated for alcohol-related injuries. A possible explanation for this is that a large percentage of today’s asylum seekers hail from Muslim countries, where alcohol is prohibited. Another divisive issue is dental health, which significantly improves after several years in Sweden.
Immigration to Sweden has soared in recent decades, peaking at 163,000 asylum seekers in 2015. Against the backdrop of negative demographic trends among ethnic Swedes, the proportion of foreign-born reached an astonishing 17.5 percent in 2017. Overall, about a quarter of the Swedish population has a foreign background.”

Also, Red China’s total debt exceeds 250% of its GDP. That deficit dwarfs the U.S. debt rate of about 100% of GDP. All of which puts the lie about Beijing ever attempting to hold America hostage with our own treasury notes. Trying to pull a fire sale with US securities would evacuate Red China’s capital base like a suction pump. It’s also a given that the CCP falsifies numbers at the level of a criminal enterprise. Mexico is planning to deploy thousands of troops to its southern border amid heightened pressure from the Trump administration to crack down on the Central American migrant crisis. According to Mexican officials Monday, the country has already sent over 400 military personnel to the town of Tapachula near its border with Guatemala this past week.
“Since Saturday 426 soldiers from the National Guard have arrived in Tapachula,” announced Maximilano Reyes, Mexican Undersecretary of State for Latin America and the Caribbean. “President Obrador and the Foreign Minister have said that 6,000 will be sent in total, but that does not mean that all 6,000 are going to disembark here.”
This comes after Mexico pledged earlier this month to ramp up its efforts to stop the flow of South American migrants traveling through Mexico and illegally crossing into the U.S.

“A new survey has revealed that the majority of Canadians want the government of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to decrease the number of new immigrants to the country.
The new survey, produced by Léger, revealed that 63 percent of Canadians agree that the Liberal government should “prioritize reducing the number of immigrants entering Canada,” compared to only 37 percent who believe the opposite, La Presse reports.

Rural Economic Development Minister Bernadette Jordan added that the programme would make rural Canada more “vibrant” saying, “I’m pleased we are able to introduce this new pilot to continue experimenting with how immigration can help ensure the continued vibrancy of rural areas across the country.”
According to the Léger survey, the highest number of Canadians for reducing migration, 64 percent, were from Quebec where the populist Coalition Avenir Québec (CAQ) passed new immigration laws over the weekend that include residency permits being linked to passing a French language and values test.
The CAQ won a historic provincial election victory last year after promising smaller government and protecting the Quebec border against illegal migrant crossings.
François Legault, leader of the CAQ, argued for tougher migration policies last year saying, “We do not want to keep too many people who do not accept our language, our values and to participate in the workforce.”
Prime Minister Trudeau’s Liberals have seen a dramatic fall in the polls since the 2015 national election and face a revitalised Conservative Party who currently leads by just over six percent in the polling averages.”

The place to start updates on the tanker saga near the Strait of Hormuz is a few hundred miles away in Iraq. There, mortar attacks were launched Friday evening at Balad Air Base north of Baghdad (near Tikrit), where a mix of American troops and contractors is stationed. The report is of three mortar rounds launched into the base from outside it.
The Green Zone in Baghdad, where the U.S. embassy complex is located, was also targeted with a rocket (see thread above). Reportedly, the rocket landed on a building across the street from the embassy.

On Monday evening (17 June), there were reports of additional rocket attacks at Camp Taji northwest of Baghdad, where U.S. trainers work with Iraqi national army troops.
It isn’t clear at this point whether, or how quickly, harassment of this kind from inside Iraq will escalate. But such attacks, presumably by Iran-backed militia forces in Iraq – using a signature weapon of Iran-backed paramilitary operatives throughout the Middle East – have been rare in spite of verbal threats from Iran over the past year. The Iranian regime is apparently probing now to see how much harassment it can get away with.
The attacks in Iraq, along with the political situation and the overall nature of the maritime problem, explain the decision on Monday 17 June to deploy 1,000 additional U.S. troops to the region. The troops are for force protection in theater and a plus-up in intelligence capability. (The 1,000 are far too few to mount any sort of ground attack with.)

Richard: Iran is pushing trying to get Europe and the Far East to break with the US on the sanctions, their economy is tanking and they are getting desperate. Not desperate enough to launch a major assault on US assets but they are getting there. The Iranian leaders (such as they are) know that if their economy collapses the experiment in having an Islamic Government will be shown to be a total failure.
If we can wait until the Iranian economy collapses we probably won’t need a strike. If we can’t what we need to do is 1) Carry out a decapitation strike taking out as much of the Iranian Government as we can along with as many of the high ranking Mullah as we can find. As part of the decapitation strike we also need to sink as much of the Iranian Navy as we can, destroy as many of its military aircraft as we can, and bomb as many of the military barracks as we can. A strike or series of strikes like these would further weaken the Iranian government and allow a popular upraising. Strikes like the above can be carrried out without many US boots on the ground, we might need a few to use lasers to pinpoint the target we want.
To put alittle spice in the action we can try dropping over pressure bombs at the head of the tunnels that lead to the underground nuclear weapons factories. I don’t know what damage this would do but it can’t hurt.

A headline from a Fox News article: “Guatemalan migrants vow to keep trying to reach US border after Mexico ramps up pressure.” Even as our neighbor to the South capitulates to the administration’s demands to help U.S. deal with its massive border crisis, the majority of those deported immediately turn around and head back toward the “promised land” for another try.
The article quotes a migrant named Noe Santos, who confesses, “I did it three times already, and three times I got caught.” Yet, here Santos is, back in the U.S., working for $12 an hour at a restaurant in Atlanta.
So what makes these migrants so determined to keep coming back to a country that can’t handle this number of asylum seekers? The answer “The Conveyor Belt.” That, according to The Washington Post, is the nickname U.S. border officials have appended to “a lucrative new smuggling operation that uses express buses to deliver Guatemalan migrant families to the U.S. border in a matter of days, making the journey faster, easier and safer.”

“Three South American illegals were arrested in the Italian town of Rho after beating a bartender who refused to serve them.
The three illegals, aged 21 to 23-years-old, fractured the nose of the bartender when he refused them service, judging that they had already had enough to drink, Italian newspaper Il Giornale reports.
After the three men attacked the barman, the owner intervened and prevented the trio from entering the bar and harassing or assaulting any of the patrons inside and called the police.
When the police arrived on the scene the victim of the attack was taken to the hospital but the migrants had already left for another bar. The officers managed to locate the three men who broke several glass bottles and attempted to attack the officers with them.
The police were forced to wait for Carabinieri (national military police) back up to arrive to finally subdue the men who were placed in custody and charged with a variety of offences from resisting a police officer to aggravated assault and possession of weapons.
The attack is just the latest incident in Italy involving illegal migrants attacking police and others.
In April, an illegal Senegalese migrant named Ndiaye Migui was arrested after attacking officers in Turin with an iron bar while yelling “Allahu Akbar,” causing one officer to receive severe head trauma as a result of the incident.
An even more serious incident occurred earlier this year in Mirandola near Bologna when a North African migrant was arrested following an arson attack on a police station that led to the deaths of two people and injured a dozen others.
Populist Italian Interior Minister Matteo Salvini has reacted harshly against incidents of a migrant crime calling for the deportation of criminal illegals he has referred to as “delinquents” in the past.
In Salvini’s new migration and security decree he has also increased the penalties for those who attack the police, recently receiving praise from officers for the new policy.”

“The budget deal will maintain the state’s ongoing commitment to fiscal prudence,” Senator Holly Mitchell, who heads California’s budget deal committee, said of its $215 billion budget.
The Democrat official also falsely described the state’s highest budget in history as “responsible”.
Responsible in California on budgetary matters is graded on a curve the size of the planet. This is a state whose senate passed a socialized medicine bill with no way to pay for its estimated $400 billion cost.
A mere $215 billion budget is as prudent and responsible as California Democrats ever get.
California’s corrupt one-party state didn’t just pass a state budget on a party line vote. This was a national budget. Mexico’s socialists unveiled a $289 billion budget last year. A sizable part of Mexico does live in California, but Mexico still has a population of 130 million people to California’s 40 million.
At $215 billion, that’s over $5,000 in spending for every single person stuck in the state.

Johnny when you are looking at the coming economic collapse think about California as the place where it may start. They are facing Billions of dollars in unfunded pension costs and are openly inviting in more people to overload their welfare and health system. New York and Illinois aren’t far behind in their debt problem. There are other states in trouble but those three are the ones that spring to mind. All are taxing the Middle Class out of existence as the seek money to pay their welfare bills. The problem is they have run the debt so high the US can’t afford to bail them out.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: A week and a half ago, Hamas organized its weekly confrontation on the Gaza fence in honor of World Jerusalem Day, an event inaugurated by Ayatollah Khomeini in 1979 and celebrated since then primarily by Iran and its Hezbollah proxy. This move reflects the organization’s defiance of the Sunni Arab states, especially those who plan to attend the Trump-sponsored conference in Bahrain.
At first glance, it appears that the title given to the June 7 confrontation in Gaza – World Jerusalem Day – was little different from the various titles given to the sixty confrontations that preceded it since their inauguration over a year ago.
But by using the title World Jerusalem Day, Hamas and Islamic Jihad sent a clear message to the Arab audience – from kings and presidents of Arab states all the way down to followers of Arab media.
In the Arab world, it is public knowledge that World Jerusalem Day – Ruz Jihani Quds in Farsi – was one of the first commemoration days Ayatollah Khomeini created and placed on the official calendar of the newly created Islamic Republic of Iran in 1979. World Jerusalem Day demonstrations and rallies since then have overwhelmingly taken place in Iran or in the Shiite areas of Lebanon, under Hezbollah auspices.
