I clicked on this link to read what Angela Merkel had to say at the Harvard commencement. What I found much more interesting was the video attached to it of Manfred Weber, he is in the running to replace Merkel. He trashes Italy saying they have no plan for economic growth. That well might be true but Italy has been in chaos for years now trying to deal with wave after relentless wave of economic invaders that demand food, housing, medical care, etc. It’s pretty hard to right your ship when thousands upon thousands of non-productive immigrants keep climbing aboard.

Cops: Jussie Smollett Paid For Pot, Cocaine, Ecstasy Via Venmo App
A police examination of Jussie Smollett’s text messages revealed that on “various occasions” over the past year, the actor/hoaxster requested that an associate procure him cocaine, Ecstasy, and marijuana, the payment for which was transmitted via the Venmo app.
Smollett’s alleged narcotics purchases are referred to in a police report that was among hundreds of pages of documents released today by the Chicago Police Department. The material details the department’s investigation of Smollett’s claim that he was the victim of a hate crime attack in late-January.
Pictured above, Smollett was eventually charged with fabricating the assault tale. Investigators alleged that Smollet paid $3500 to two brothers–Olabinjo and Abimbola Osundairo–to help stage the attack. In late-March, the Cook County prosecutor dropped criminal charges against the 36-year-old performer, a decision that was blasted by Chicago’s mayor and police commanders.
A search warrant for telephone records revealed communications between Smollett and his drug contact that began in late-February 2018. It appears that the search warrant was for the phone records of Smollett’s associate (who appears to have been Olabinjo Osundairo).
In the texts, Smollett would request “weed, molly, or Whitney,” according to the report. “In particular, weed is slang for cannabis, molly is slang for extacy, and whitney is slang for cocaine,” an investigator wrote.
The report contends that there were “multiple occasions” when Smollett apparently used Venmo to pay for “illicit activity” that was claimed as “payments for legitimate expenses.” For example, cops say that when Smollett paid $100 for Ecstasy pills in September 2018, he listed “Training” as the reason for the Venmo transfer.
During the police probe, a Chicago detective contacted a Venmo official who agreed to preserve records of Smollett’s account until police could secure a subpoena for those documents.

Captured Daesh Bride Helping CIA Track Down Terrorist Leader Baghdadi – Report (sputniknews, May 31, 2019)

“After months of speculation as to whether he was alive or dead, at the end of April a video was released in which Daesh leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi made his first appearance in five years. Now, new information about the hunt for his location has been made public.
The most senior female Daesh prisoner has played a significant role in the CIA’s manhunt for Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, it has been revealed by the Guardian.
The Daesh woman, Nisrine Assad Ibrahim, better known by her doom-inducing nom de guerre, Umm Sayyaf, has reportedly helped in joint CIA-Kurdish efforts to track down Mr Baghdadi by providing detailed accounts of his movements over the years, including the locations of safe houses as well as the obscure traveling routes that he takes.
Miss Sayyaf, 29-years-old, and believed to be Iraqi, was captured in a 2015 US Delta Force raid in Syria, in which her husband, Daesh’s then-second in command and the group’s so-called oil minister, Abu Sayyaf, was killed.
Since being detained, Miss Sayyaf has reportedly spent many hours helping American investigators use maps to determine where Baghdadi may be bogged down.
“They were very polite [the American investigators] and wore civilian clothes,” she told the Guardian, “I showed them everything I knew.”
In February 2016, Miss Sayyaf is said to have provided the location of a house in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul where she believed Baghdadi was hiding out. Yet, despite being so close to bagging the world’s most wanted man, Kurdish officials told the Guardian that the US did not want to carry out an airstrike on the home for fear of killing civilians in the tightly packed neighbourhood.
“I told them where the house was,” Umm Sayyaf is reported as having said.
“I knew he’d been there because it was one of the houses that was provided for him, and one of the places he liked the most,” she told the Guardian.
Kurdish officials also corroborated the Mosul story, reportedly saying that: “We told the Americans and asked them to act, and they said they had other things on. Baghdadi moved houses quite quickly and we missed him. Later, the Americans came back and said we were right.”
The newspaper’s revelation — which has allegedly been confirmed by American investigators involved in the operation — marks a significant moment in the ongoing hunt for Mr Baghdadi, who has managed to evade capture since he proclaimed the establishment of the caliphate in June 2014 from the pulpit of the al-Nouri mosque in Mosul.
Miss Sayyaf — who is now on death row in Iraq — is a magnet of controversy who is accused of presiding over some of Daesh’s most hideous crimes, including the capturing and subsequent enslavement of American aid worker, Kayla Mueller along with several Yazidi woman and girls, many of whom are said to have been raped and killed.
The fact that Miss Sayyaf’s family occupied leadership positions in Daesh, coupled with her marriage to a Baghdadi confidant, meant that she had rare access to the Daesh leader, she told the Guardian, and even claimed to have observed him recording propaganda messages in her home.
“He used to do that in our sitting room in Taji [a town in central Iraq]. My husband was the [Daesh] media chief then, and Baghdadi would visit often,” she reportedly said.
“He visited us often in Syria. Sometimes he would come for a few hours. Sometimes he would stay longer. It was just a normal house, and I provided him and my husband tea. We would also go to Raqqa with him, I remember going twice. I told the Americans where the house was. They blindfolded us every time we entered the street, but I had been there before, and I knew what it looked like,” Umm Sayyaf is quoted as saying.
A senior Kurdish intelligence official said of Umm Sayyaf’s help: “she gave us a really clear picture of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi’s family structure and the people who mattered most to him. We learned about the wives of the people around him in particular, and that has been very useful for us. She identified lots of people and their responsibilities. And she gave us a sense of the real feelings of the leadership wives.”

Alleged ringleader admits murders of Scandinavian hikers in Morocco
The alleged leader of a group of jihadists admitted killing one of two Scandinavian hikers in Morocco, and accused his co-defendant of killing the other.
The alleged leader of a jihadist cell accused of killing two Scandinavian hikers in Morocco admitted to the murders in court on Thursday, saying they were carried out in the name of the Isis group.
Danish student Louisa Vesterager Jespersen, 24, and 28-year-old Norwegian Maren Ueland had their throats slit while camping in an isolated area of the High Atlas mountains in December.
“I beheaded one of them… I regret it,” former street vendor Abdessamad Ejjoud, 25, told the court, accusing co-defendant Younes Ouaziyad of killing the other hiker.
“We loved Isis and we prayed to God for it,” he said, wearing a long white tunic.
Twenty-four defendants – facing charges including promoting terrorism, forming a terrorist cell and premeditated murder – appeared in the court in Sale, near Rabat, under heavy security.
Three main suspects, including Ejjoud, are accused of direct involvement in the killing
In theory, the killers could face the death penalty, but Morocco has had a de facto freeze on executions since 1993.
Nature lovers Jespersen and Ueland shared an apartment and went to Norway’s Bo University, where they were studying to be guides.
They had travelled together to Morocco for their Christmas holidays.
Their lives were ended in the foothills of Toubkal, the highest summit in North Africa, some 80 kilometres from the tourist hub of Marrakesh.
Ejjoud – who had previously been jailed for trying to join Isis in Syria – confessed to organizing the mission to the High Atlas mountains on December 12th during which the tourists were killed.
‘Holy war’
The prosecution has said several potential targets were passed over because the foreigners were accompanied by guides or local residents.
It was four days before the killers selected their targets, according to the prosecution. It said two of them carried out the killings while the third filmed them on a phone.
After the bodies were discovered, the Moroccan authorities were initially cautious, referring to a “criminal act” and wounds to the victims’ necks.
But that changed when the video surfaced showing a victim being beheaded.
In it, one of the killers refers to “enemies of Allah” and says the murders are to avenge the killings of jihadists in Syria.
At the trial Ejjoud said he had “sent around” the footage to online groups of Isis supporters.
A separate video published in the initial aftermath of the murders showed the alleged killers pledging allegiance to Isis leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.
The only foreigner among the defendants is Spanish-Swiss 25-year-old Kevin Zoller Guervos, who moved to Morocco after converting to Islam.
The others come from modest backgrounds, scraping by on odd jobs and living in neglected areas of Marrakesh, the North African kingdom’s main tourist city.
Investigators said the “cell” was inspired by Isis ideology, but Morocco’s anti-terror chief insisted the accused had no contact with the jihadist group in conflict zones.
Isis has never claimed responsibility for the murders.
Ejjoud said that after being prevented from going to Syria he “decided to carry out holy war” at home.
He said his group tried to make a bomb “but it did not work” and then plotted to “attack Christians as they are killing Muslims”.
At an earlier hearing, the court accepted a request by the Jespersen family’s lawyer for the government to be held “morally responsible” for the killings so they could receive compensation.
The trial opened on May 2nd but was adjourned to May 16th and then paused again after a brief hearing.
The court on Thursday set the next hearing for June 13th.

Three men admit to the murder of two Scandinavian hikers in Morocco
Three Moroccan men admitted on Thursday to the killing of two Scandinavian backpackers in a grisly murder last December, saying they had committed the crime after attempting and failing to join the Islamic State.
The bodies of Louisa Vesterager Jespersen (24) from Denmark, and Maren Ueland (28) from Norway were found on December 17th near the village of Imlil, a hiking destination in the Atlas Mountains near Marrakech.
The three men pledged allegiance to the Islamic State in a video made three days before the murder. Authorities described them after they were arrested as “lone wolves” who had not coordinated the killings with Islamic State.
However, authorities have arrested a further 21 people who they say have links to the three and face charges including forming a criminal gang to commit terrorist acts, encouraging terrorism, and undermining public order.

Compensation
“After failing to join the Islamic State., we decided to do Jihad at home,” said Mr Ejjoud, a 33-year-old carpenter from Marrakech and father of two, who had previously spent two years in jail on terrorism-related charges.
“I regret what happened and I am still trying to grasp it,” he said.
The three were arrested at a bus station in Marrakech four days after the murder.
They said they were heading south towards the city of Laayoune but the prosecutor said they were attempting to join Jihadi groups in the Sahel via the Algerian border.
The lawyer representing the family of Ms Vesterager Jespersen said the state should pay compensation to her family. Some of those arrested had previously been jailed on terrorism charges or were known to have attended schools preaching radical ideas, the lawyer argued. The family of Ms Ueland did not hire a lawyer.
State lawyer Abdellatif Ouahbi called the crime “an isolated regrettable act” and said in a statement to Reuters that Morocco was “a model in counter-terrorism.”
Some 1,700 Moroccans have joined the Islamic State militant group in the Middle East, according to Moroccan officials.
Compared with other countries in North Africa, Morocco – a popular travel destination for Europeans – has been largely insulated from militant attacks. The most recent took place in April 2011, when 17 people were killed in the bombing of a restaurant in Marrakech.

The jokes have been a little sour this week, with the Israeli Knesset dissolving after a tense period in which Benjamin Netanyahu was unable to cobble together a new Likud-led governing coalition following the 9 April election.
Israel, they’re saying – the Middle East’s only functioning democracy – loves democracy so much the Israelis want to have national elections twice a year.
A new election is now to be held on 17 September 2019.
When the news first came out, I must admit I immediately thought this could end up being a net positive. Netanyahu and Likud supporters are upset, of course, and understandably so. Bibi can perform necessary functions of government, such as national defense, between now and the next election. But there won’t be new initiatives that require suasion and brokering in the Knesset. Plans for domestic programs will be on autopilot; there will be limits on what can be done in foreign policy.

Afghanistan: Six dead after suicide bombing near Kabul military university
Six people died and a further 16 were left injured after a suicide bombing outside the Marshal Fahim National Defence University in Kabul, on Thursday.
According to Kabul police spokesperson Firdaws Faramarz, the suicide bomber, who was on foot, was “identified” and challenged by police personnel before he blew himself up right by next to the military academy’s entrance gate.
According to an eye witness, the injured included “school students” and were transferred to a hospital.
The attack was claimed by the self-proclaimed Islamic State.

As we survey the large collection of leftists who are currently seeking the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination, it is illuminating to recall how very enthusiastically these same people supported the goals and values of the Occupy Wall Street (OWS) movement when it initially burst upon the political scene a few years ago. Launched in September 2011, OWS became famous for its drumbeat narrative about the inherent evils of capitalist greed, the injustices of financial inequality, and the need for a massive transfer of wealth from the top “1 percent” to the other “99 percent.” By injecting this narrative into the political atmosphere, OWS laid the vital groundwork for President Obama‘s 2012 re-election campaign, which was based heavily on the promotion of class envy and class warfare.
Senator Elizabeth Warren, who now wants to be president, once went so far as to boast that she herself had “created much of the intellectual foundation for what they [the Occupy protesters] do.” “I support what they do,” she emphasized.
In a similar vein, current presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders lauded OWS in 2011 as an “extremely important” initiative that was “focusing attention” on the “greed and recklessness” of Wall Street, and on “the huge issue of income and wealth inequality.”
Joe Biden likewise sympathized with OWS’s message, which he summed up as follows: “The core is [that] the bargain has been breached with the American people…. The banks are not paying their fair share.”
Kirsten Gillibrand praised OWS for serving as “a vehicle for people to vent their frustration with the economy.”
And Cory Booker, who at that time was the mayor of Newark, demonstrated his own fondness for OWS by sending donuts and coffee to a contingent of Occupy protesters in his city one cold November night.

However, the USMCA is much more than a simple agreement for “free trade” between three countries; it is the architecture for the regional and economic integration of North America, similar to the early trade deals and treaties in Europe that gradually morphed into the supranational European Union of today.
When the leaders of all three countries signed the USMCA/CUSMA/T-MEC in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on November 30, 2018, then-President of Mexico Enrique Peña Nieto of Mexico emphasized how it would consolidate the economic integration of the continent: “The renegotiation of the new trade agreement sought to safeguard the vision of an integrated North America, the conviction that together we are stronger and more competitive…. Jobs are just the tip of the iceberg of what the United States stands to lose. If the USMCA/CUSMA/T-MEC is ratified by all three countries, the United States, along with Canada and Mexico, face losing their national sovereignty to a supranational regional order on the road to world government. A country may always rebound from a bad economy, but it cannot recover from its loss of sovereignty.

On May 26, 2019 the local radio station in New York, 1010 WINS reported, Nassau police union: Dozens more detectives needed to combat MS-13.
That report began with this excerpt:
NEW YORK (1010 WINS) – Two days after the body of a suspected MS-13 victim was discovered at Massapequa Preserve, Nassau PBA president James McDermott says gang units in the county are understaffed and ill-equipped to deal with the violent gang.
“Our gang unit is undermanned and not provided with the necessary resources to deal with this threat,” he said Sunday, speaking near the location where the body was discovered Friday.
The remains are believed to be from one of a number of people murdered by MS-13 several years ago.
In any battle, more “boots on the ground” can help to insure victory. Where the battle is against transnational criminals, it would be most helpful if those “boots” were worn by ICE agents.
What was not discussed in this article is how ICE agents can be of a huge assistance in effectively combatting MS-13 and other transnational gangs and how sanctuary policies have the exact opposite impact.

DA to investigate New York homeowner who it says shot, killed 2 would-be burglars

he Oneida County District Attorney is investigating a 64-year-old homeowner in New York who it says shot and killed two people, thought to be burglars, with an unregistered gun on Tuesday.
Ronald A. Stolarczyk was arrested and charged with felony possession of an illegal handgun. Authorities say he shot Patricia Anne Talerico, 57, and Nicholas A. Talerico, 27, in the garage of his home, according to New York State Police.
Stoalrczyk told DA Scott McNamara that the gun was his father’s, and that he’d forgotten to register it. If it is determined that the gun was loaded and in the home with the homeowner present, the charge could be reduced to a lower-level felony.

“An apparent insurgent attack in northern Mozambique killed 16 people on Tuesday in the deadliest attack so far in the remote region, local sources told AFP on Friday, May 31.
Militant Islamists have been blamed for attacks on remote communities in the gas-rich, Cabo Delgado region since October 2017, killing more than 200 people and forcing thousands from their homes.
A Mitsubishi truck carrying passengers and goods was ambushed on a dirt road in the coastal district of Macomia, sources said.
Confirmation of the fatalities only emerged on Friday.
Attackers threw home-made explosives into the truck and then opened fire.
“Eight people were killed in the vehicle and another seven people were found dead at the scene, a sign that they tried to flee,” a local teacher, whose colleague was killed, said.
Another victim died a day after the attack, which according to AFP was the first case of the insurgents using home-made explosives.
Among the dead were three soldiers deployed on the truck to protect it from attack, a community leader told AFP.
“They used homemade bombs. They did not give the military time to react. The group of attackers was at least seven men according to a survivor,” he said.
About 10 injured people were taken to hospital in Pemba by helicopter.
A month of bloodshed
The government and military do not comment on insurgency attacks.
AFP has recorded a total of 14 attacks in May that caused more than 40 deaths.
The militants regularly attack villages, kill local people and burn houses, despite a growing police and military presence in the area.
President Filipe Nyusi has vowed to “neutralize” the threat and sent heavy reinforcements to the region where hundreds of people have been arrested.
“The country is falling victim and we all need to understand the real reasons,” Nyusi said last week in a rare interview with the privately-owned Canal de Mocambique newspaper.
“The defence and security forces are putting their whole resources into this, so we can learn [the insurgents’] motivation and who these people are.”
Attacks have often forced the temporary closure of voting registration stations ahead of October elections, according to the Center for Public Integrity, a civil action group based in the capital Maputo.
Some analysts and journalists have questioned the official narrative blaming Islamists. Various other theories have been put forward, but access to the area is limited, making any theory difficult to substantiate.
Muslim-majority Cabo Delgado province is expected to become the center of a natural gas industry after promising offshore discoveries near Palma. The vast gas deposits could transform the impoverished country’s economy, with experts predicting that Mozambique could even become the world’s third-largest exporter of liquefied natural gas.
But the country’s north has largely been excluded from the economic growth of the last 20 years, creating fertile ground for radical Islamist ideology.
A hardline Islamist group has been blamed for deadly attacks in the province, stoking unrest just as the government pushes ahead with exploration efforts. Communities have been terrorized since October 2017 – about 200 people have been killed and thousands forced from their homes.
The Islamist group was originally known as Ahlu Sunnah Wa-Jama – Arabic for “followers of the prophet” – but commonly referred to by locals and officials as “Al-Shabaab,” although it has no known link to the notorious Somali jihadist group of the same name.
Researchers have said the Ahlu Sunnah Wa-Jama leadership has links to Islamist groups based in Tanzania, Somalia, Kenya and in the Great Lakes region, where some also received training.
Human Rights Watch has accused security forces of serious human rights violations, and several journalists have been arrested in the area.”

Iran Will Restart Contested Nuclear Work Unless Cash ‘Demands Are Met’

Top Iranian leaders issued a series of warnings on Tuesday, telling world leaders it is on the brink of restarting a significant portion of its most contested nuclear work, including the enrichment of uranium to prohibited levels that could be used as part of a weapons program.
With tensions mounting between the United States and Iran following a bevy on new sanctions issued by the Trump administration, Iranian leaders warned their counterparts in Europe that the country will begin to enrich uranium—the key component in a nuclear weapon—to levels needed for weapons research.
Iran also will begin to stockpile low-enriched uranium instead of shipping it out of the country, as it had been doing under the nuclear agreement. The Islamic Republic also will stop exporting its heavy water reserves, a nuclear byproduct that can provide a plutonium-based pathway to a weapon.
Both of these moves are enflaming global tension surrounding Iran’s nuclear program, which the country has used to receive billions in sanctions relief and cash windfalls as a result of the Obama administration’s accord. Trump announces new tariff measures on Mexican goods until illegal migrant flood stops

On Thursday evening President Trump took to Twitter to announce a new policy of escalating tariffs on imports from Mexico, “until such time as illegal migrants coming through Mexico, and into our Country, STOP.”
There has been speculation in conservative media about such a move, and the potential that it may be accompanied by additional measures, to be instituted in early June. The Washington Post seems to have gotten wind of it earlier on Thursday. Fox News describes it as an “abrupt” announcement, however, seeming to suggest that it may have been unexpected in Washington.

“At the Evry mosque in Paris, a power struggle has flared up between the Moroccan government and the government of the UAE.
At the beginning of Ramadan, Evry mosque hosted an Iftar in honor of Ali Nouyami, the Emirati minister in charge of the World Council of Muslim Minorities. This consequently raised concerns about the mosque’s loyalties, and whether it would pander to the interests of the UAE in the future.
The concerns were further exacerbated by the mosque’s irreplaceable “rector,” Khalil Merroun, who was suspected of planning to expand the institution’s board of directors to authorities loyal to Abu Dhabi.

The UAE’s designs for global influence
More recently, the Emirati government in Abu Dhabi has been struggling to expand its influence in Europe; however, the country’s attempts at seizing power in the Middle East and Africa have long foreshadowed the UAE’s designs on becoming a globally recognized power.
In Libya, the UAE has perpetuated the ongoing conflict by funneling money to the Libyan National Army (LNA) and forces loyal to Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, who continues to lay siege to the country’s capital of Tripoli.
Meanwhile in Sudan, the UAE has been providing significant support to the incumbent military regime, which continues to aggressively put down protests in an attempt to maintain control over an increasingly dissatisfied civilian population.
In both of these conflicts, the UAE’s fingerprints are permanently etched onto the bullets and bombs used to terrorize civilian populations and butcher thousands in brutal civil wars and violent uprisings.
However, perhaps the most devastating attempt by the UAE to establish dominance in the region has been through its role in the ongoing crisis in Yemen, which has claimed thousands of lives through senseless violence and will continue to claim more so long as the conflict continues.
This consistent pattern of meddling with foreign affairs has become a trademark for the UAE, which continues to set its eyes on Africa and the Middle East even as it grows more focused on expanding into Europe.
Moroccan influence under assault
In every circumstance where the UAE has attempted to seize influence from another country, it has come into conflict with one actor or another in the course of their expansion.
In the case of the Evry Mosque, Morocco is said to have taken the UEA’s meddling as a direct threat to Moroccan influence in France in terms of the practice and interpretation of Islam.
A long-time French partner, Morocco’s political and cultural proximity to France has meant that the North African country has carried considerable clout in “French Islam.”
With Moroccans being among the most represented nationalities in France, Rabat maintains an iron grip on its role as a dominant voice in French Islamic circles.
However, this has not dissuaded the UAE from attempting to oust Morocco and establish itself as a powerful influence to challenge the North African kingdom as a leader in the Islamic community.
In attempt to discredit Moroccan influence in European Islam, Abu Dhabi has consistently condemned mosques associated with Morocco, labeling them as Salafist and portraying them as threats to Islam.
Meanwhile in the gulf nation’s own borders, the Emirati government has heavily criminalized Malekism, the principal theological school of Islam across North Africa and the Maghreb. Pushing even further, the UAE has attempted to slander Malekism within Europe to further diminish Moroccan presence in the continent.
As a result of this power struggle, Islam in France and across Europe has become divided, with the ongoing political conflicts in the gulf and elsewhere in the Middle East fueling the UAE’s desires to empower itself at any cost.”
