Daily Links Post graphic

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We must use it while we can.

    • Does Silicon Valley’s shift from high-tech capitol equipment manufacturing and semiconductor fabrication over to nearly exclusive digital content management have any relationship to the immigrant influx and an inability (or unwillingness) to find truly qualified professionals?

      Is a frog’s ass watertight?

What similar correlations are there to the inexorable growth in wage disparity (Silicon Valley’s being the absolute worst in America) to quasi-related factors such as increased issuance of H1-B visas—largely from the Subcontinent’s notorious diploma mills that even +90% of Indian companies won’t hire—aaaand …

Oh, let’s just say, spousal abuse, alcoholism, drug dependence, overdose cases, bankruptcy, divorce, foreclosure, pilferage, embezzlement, murder, SUICIDE, along with many other side-effects resulting from relentless downward salary pressure (and reduced career prospects) upon older, skilled White males.

As an example: During Silicon Valley’s lily white heyday of ruling the digital electronics market, even back in 1982, my American colleagues on the wafer fab-lines already were grumbling about, “needing more new-hires with names like ‘Smith’ and ‘Jones'”. With the region now speaking a combination (which local leaders proudly crow about) of some 200 different languages and their dialects, it is a source of endless amusement to speculate where all the jobs will come from to make up for those soon-to-be eliminated by robotics and automation.

No, I haven’t omitted so-called Artificial Intelligence. It’s just that ordinary, low-level, workplace automation will hollow out the entry level job market so badly that pathways to middle management and more skilled positions will have been choked like a teenager’s chicken.

As he points out, these hyper-politicized Tech Titans are happy to let their bottom lines take massive earnings hits (i.e., criminally defraud shareholders), as part of a well-documented putsch push to wipe out the Caucasian middle class. This is because it’s a relatively educated demographic that’s far more likely to hold independent political views.

NEITHER PARTY wants even a slightly independent-minded electorate to emerge. The powers that be care not a fig WHICH party you align with, just so long as you remain vulnerable to divisive bipartisan polarization. It’s like one of those dodgy recycling centers with lots of different chutes that all lead into the same dumpster.

At the risk of sounding trite,” divide and conquer” is the second oldest military strategy on Earth. And while Sun Tzu was still wriggling around in his father’s scrotum, divide and conquer already had been perfected for millennia..

Much like with Islam—after all the societal mayhem that’s happened on their watch—so long as everything doesn’t slide over the event horizon, they all can rot in hell. STAT!

  1. Sources: Turkey Arms Syrian Rebels Facing Russian-Backed Assault (voanews, May 25, 2019)
    https://www.voanews.com/a/sources-turkey-arms-syrian-rebels-facing-russian-backed-assault/4932552.html

“Turkey has equipped an array of mainstream Syrian rebels it backs with fresh supplies of weaponry to help them try to repel a major Russian-backed assault, senior opposition officials and rebel sources said
    Saturday.

Russia is backing the Syrian army’s large aerial and ground assault as it seeks to gain control of the last big stretch of rebel-held territory in the northwest of the country.

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad launched the assault last month, saying rebels had breached an existing cease-fire, triggering a civilian exodus by bombarding Idlib and adjacent areas. It has been the biggest escalation since last summer between Assad and his enemies in Idlib province and a belt of territory around it.

Ankara stepped up supplies in recent days after failing to persuade Russia in recent meetings of a joint working group to end its escalation to avert a major influx of refugees pouring into Turkey, two senior opposition figures said.

In doing so, Turkey signaled its readiness to preserve its influence in northwestern Syria, where it has beefed up its troop presence in a dozen military bases that were set up under a de-escalation deal with Russia, a senior rebel commander said.

Turkish officials were not immediately available to comment…”

  2. 762 detainees died in Egypt prisons since coup (memo, May 25, 2019)
    https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/20190525-762-detainees-died-in-egypt-prisons-since-coup/

“Some 762 detainees have died in Egyptian jails since the July 2013 coup, a UK-based human rights group reported yesterday, adding that 551 of them had died as a result of medical negligence.

The Arab Organisation for Human Rights in the UK declared that “Egyptian prisons have turned into execution compounds taking the lives of their detainees by denying them the right to the medical care they need and providing a fertile environment for diseases and epidemics to spread inside the detention centres due to the lack of hygiene, pollution and overcrowding.”

It added that 762 people have died or been killed while being held in detention centres due to medical negligence, poor detention conditions, administrative corruption and torture. Since the July 2013 coup which ousted the country’s first democratically elected President, Mohamed Morsi, 551 detainees have died of medical negligence while in detention, it revealed.

“20 cases of deaths among detainees have been registered during 2019, including 15 detainees charged with opposing the regime. The rest are accused of committing crimes. Seven people died in January, two in February, five in March, four in April, and two in May,” the organisation said.

“Psychological pressure is exerted on detainees,” the rights group explained, “especially the ones charged with opposing the authorities.””

  3. African Continental Free Trade Area to come into force next week after 22 countries ratify deal (ahram, May 25, 2019)
    http://english.ahram.org.eg/NewsContent/1/64/335228/Egypt/Politics-/African-Continental-Free-Trade-Area-to-come-into-f.aspx

“The quorum required for the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) to come into force has been completed, the Egyptian foreign ministry said in a statement on Saturday.

The African continent has taken a giant step towards the prosperity and sustainable development of its population as the required number of 22 countries, including Egypt, have ratified the AfCFTA agreement, the statement said.

The foreign ministry said that, according to statistics, when the AfCFTA agreement enters into force it will affect more than 1.2 billion people, with a total domestic product of about $3.4 trillion.

Moreover, when operational, the African Union (AU) says, the AfCFTA will be the largest free trade bloc in the world.

The latest two ratifications, Sierra Leone and the Saharawi Republic, were received by the AU on 29 April.

With 22 ratifications, the agreement will enter into force in 30 days, on 30 May.

The AU and African ministers of trade will finalise work on supporting instruments to facilitate the launch of the operational phase of the AfCFTA during an extraordinary heads of state and government summit scheduled to take place in Niamey on 7 July.

According to the AU, the supporting instruments are: the rules of origin; the schedules of tariff concessions on trade in goods; the online non-tariff barriers monitoring and elimination mechanism; the digital payments and settlement platform; and the African Trade Observatory Portal.

Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi is chairing the African Union this year.”

    • A huge step towards a one world government, next we put all of the blocks together, and hey presto we are all completely enslaved.

      • A huge step towards a one world government, next we put all of the blocks together, and hey presto we are all completely enslaved.

Fear not. The entire Dark Continent is so disharmonious that it’s a wonder any of them can unify long enough to spawn. Speaking of humanity’s cradle:

A recent nursing graduate had reported for her first day at work. She was making some preliminary rounds and, being rather shapely, had been warned aforehand about the reprobate in her next ward. This patient had the worst reputation. Always making improper advances, being a bother with his wandering hands, and such nonsense … specially with the novices.

As she leaned over to take his temperature, he slyly whispered to her, “Young miss, please tell me something. Where does a girl’s hair grow darkest and curliest?”

Blushing furiously, the crimson-faced lass stammered her way out of the room and scarpered back to the head nurse’s station. The old battleax in charge of these wards had seen it all a thousand times before and marched straight over to the offender’s bed with her quaking new-hire in tow.

“Well, Jenkins”, she asked, brazening the old goat out, “Where does a girl’s hair grow darkest and curliest?”

He blinked up at her innocently and calmly replied, “Why, in central Africa, of course.”

  4. Murdered over a drink of water, family seeks justice for daughter (tribune, May 25, 2019)
    https://tribune.com.pk/story/1980173/1-murdered-drink-water-family-seeks-justice-daughter/

“She grew up in a home filled with love. But barely two months after she left it to go live with her new husband, she returned, in a body bag.

Rasheeda Bibi, 19, got married on January 3, 2019. Her parents send her off with their best wishes and prayers. They had promised their daughter’s hand to Molai Magsi’s son when both were still children.

They did not know that their hopes and dreams would soon turn to dust. The incident has left a void in Gulab Khan Magsi, an area in Qambar Shahdadkot district.

Rasheeda’s family has been pleading for justice. According to reports, gunfire was heard in Gulab Khan Magsi village on the morning of March 11 at around 8:30pm. Later it was learnt that Molai Magsi and his sons Ranjan and Iqbal murdered Rasheeda.

Her ‘sin’, was taking a few minutes to fetch some water.

The suspects have since accused Rasheeda of adultery and tried to play the case as an incident of honour killing.

Rasheeda’s family members said she had been unwell and was running a fever, due to which she took some time to fetch water. But for her husband and in-laws, being sick was no excuse, they said, explaining that they beat her before shooting her dead.

Rasheeda was shot twice, they said, once each by Rajan and Iqbal. The police initially did move to arrest the key accused, Rajan, but now, the family said, the case is not being taken seriously.

Rasheeda’s parents and several family members fear that several delay tactics are being employed to weaken the case. Ranjan, the key suspect is still under arrest, but his father Molai has secured pre-arrest bail, while Iqbal is still at large, more than two months after the incident.

Rehmat Ali, a relative of Rasheeda’s, said that they are being threatened by the suspects through various means to push for a settlement. The family, however, wants justice to prevail and for the murderers to be punished by the courts.

“Despite contacting the police repeatedly, neither have the suspects been arrested nor have the police attempted to serve justice.”

Rasheeda’s relatives said that they are still awaiting justice despite writing applications to the SHO, SP and DSP of the area.

Replying to a question, they said Rasheeda had studied till Grade five, while her husband was illiterate.

“The suspects confessed to their crime and now want to resolve the issue through dialogue,” said Rasheeda’s relatives, while adding that the matter is also not being taken seriously by village elders.

Rasheeda’s father Hub Ali Magsi also said that Iqbal, despite remaining at large, continues to threaten them.

According to Khabar Police Station SHO Muhammad Khan Wudho, attempts to arrest Iqbal are under way. “His home has been raided several times,” said the SHO, adding that Ranjan claims to have Rasheeda in the name of adultery. “We are fully cooperating with the family of the victim, but they believe that we are not being impartial.”

“We conducted raids whenever and wherever the family asked us to. We will do whatever we can to decide the case in line with the law,” he added.

Qambar Shahdadkot SP Kamran Afzal said the case will be resolved on merit, and those responsible for the murder will be punished.”

    • The suspects confessed to their crime and now want to resolve the issue through dialogue,” said Rasheeda’s relatives, while adding that the matter is also not being taken seriously by village elders.

Nothing will change until Muslim men begin fearing their wives and sex slaves.

The time may even come when bounties are offered for such “tackle”. Arab tribal policies have long perpetuated exactly such methods of “birth control”.

  5. Turkey would greatly contribute to EU: UK envoy (hdn, May 25, 2019)
    http://www.hurriyetdailynews.com/turkey-would-greatly-contribute-to-eu-uk-envoy-143704

“Turkey’s membership in the European Union would contribute greatly to both sides, the U.K.’s ambassador to Ankara said on May 24.

“Turkey’s accession process and the membership process are stalled at the moment. It’s not going anywhere, and for now, it’s hard to be optimistic,” said Dominick Chilcott in an exclusive interview with Anadolu Agency.

However, evaluating Ankara’s decades-long negotiations with the 28-member bloc, Chilcott said conditions could quickly change at any time.

He stressed that the current lack of progress had nothing to do with Turkey’s culture, size or geographical position.

“In principle, there is no reason why Turkey should not become a member state. It would be a very successful state of the EU, make a big contribution and benefit hugely from EU membership,” he said.

Chilcott pointed out that Turkey was an indispensable and powerful ally of the EU but emphasized that both sides needed to make certain changes for the current partnerships to continue.

    ‘Huge burden’

“With 3.6 million Syrian refugees and half a million refugees from other countries, Turkey carries a huge burden,” said Chilcott.

“Everybody in the international community should be grateful for all the efforts Turkey makes,” he said.

Chilcott underlined that the EU’s current contributions were only a “small part of the cost Turkey already bears”.

“It’s for the politicians to discuss among themselves what the right amount is. It was the amount agreed between President [Recep Tayyip] Erdo?an’s government and the European Union,” Chilcott said.

“I am sure more help would be much appreciated here in Turkey,” Chilcott added.

2016, Turkey and the EU signed a deal aiming to stem the flow of irregular migrants through the Aegean Sea by taking stricter measures against human traffickers and improve conditions for nearly 3 million Syrian refugees in Turkey.

The deal also allows for the acceleration of Turkey’s EU membership bid and visa-free travel for Turkish nationals within the Schengen Area on the condition that Ankara meets all 72 requirements set by the EU.

Turkey has long complained of the EU being slow to deliver the promised funds for refugees and failing to uphold its end of the deal concerning visa-free travel.”

  6. Muslim group calls probe into mosque fire in Germany (aa, May 25, 2019)
    https://www.aa.com.tr/en/europe/muslim-group-calls-probe-into-mosque-fire-in-germany/1489230

“Turkish-Muslim association IGMG has called for complete and thorough investigation into suspected arson attack on Saturday at a mosque in the western German city of Hagen.

“We urge the law enforcement authorities to conduct a swift and thorough investigation, to trace the perpetrators and put them behind the bar,” IGMG’s President Kemal Ergun said in a statement.

The group’s mosque in Hagen has suffered serious damage after an unidentified person set fire to garbage bins in front of the building.

Security camera footage released on Saturday showed a man with two dogs walking near the garbage bins before the fire.

Germany has witnessed growing Islamophobia and hatred of migrants in recent years triggered by the far-right parties, which have exploited fears over the refugee crisis and terrorism.

Police recorded 813 hate crimes against Muslims last year. At least 54 Muslims were injured in the attacks, which were carried out mostly by far-right extremists.

Germany, a country of over 81 million people, has the second-largest Muslim population in Western Europe after France. Among the country’s nearly 4.7 million Muslims, 3 million are of Turkish origin.”

  7. EU vote faces new covert digital threats: report (thelocal, May 25, 2019)
    https://www.thelocal.dk/20190525/eu-vote-faces-new-covert-digital-threats-report

“New players are exploiting internet lawlessness to disrupt democracy at this week’s European elections, says a new report that points a finger at far-right populists and cyber militias.

With the vote running from May 23-26, the Institute for Strategic Dialogue (ISD) investigated the role of covert digital propaganda in Britain, France, Germany, Italy Spain and Poland.

“New actors are taking advantage of the lawlessness of the internet, often aligned with hostile states such as Russia, as well as American special interests, but also creating their own, pan-European campaigns,” said the report released Friday.

Populist parties, far-right cyber militias and religious groups are “adapting the tactics more notoriously used by states”, the London-based think tank said.

    ‘Out of the Putin playbook’

Covert Kremlin campaigns in the 2016 US election may have inspired European actors who “have taken some pages out of the (President Vladimir) Putin playbook and are using deceptive and automated Twitter accounts to boost their causes and attack their opponents.”

The connection to political parties was often opaque and kept at enough distance to maintain deniability.

“We also see … personalised attacks and intimidation of opponents … part of an increasingly coherent right-populist playbook to gain and keep power, sow confusion, undermine faith in independent democratic institutions and promote extremist mindsets.”

Fearing a wave of disinformation the EU’s External Action Service has set up a rapid alert system, with a dozen staff, to closely watch social media and warn of possible risks of interference.

But European officials told AFP this week there had not yet been any disruptive activity to justify a pan-European alert, and no indications of a flood of fake news or disinformation.

In Spain, ISD found a “coordinated network of Twitter accounts boosting anti-Islam hashtags and amplifying support for the right-populist party VOX”. This included bots and inauthentic accounts, with over 4.4m of the posts in the past year concerning VOX, which denies links with the swarms of accounts boosting its campaign and attacking critics.

In Britain, support for most major parties was being boosted by suspected bots on Twitter.

“Forty-two percent of the most active accounts supporting official party Twitter handles show signs of bot-like hyperactive posting rates,” it said. “However, the Brexit Party is well ahead of the pack when it comes to benefiting from suspected inorganic amplification.”

In Poland, ISD identified a “suspected coordinated network of pages, accounts and groups on Facebook used to promote nationalist party Konfederacja and to amplify anti-Semitic and pro-Kremlin content”.

In Rome, US-based campaign group Avaaz reported 23 Italian pages with a total of more than 2.46 million followers which were spreading “false information and divisive content” over issues such as migration and vaccines as well as anti-Semitism.

    ‘Hate-speech election’

In Germany, the far-right AfD dominates Facebook conversation around the elections through hyperactive levels of engagement. The report highlighted the AfD labelling teenage Swedish green activist Greta Thunberg as a “child manipulated by ‘eco-fascists.'”

ISD also found concerted attacks on the professional media in Germany and France. It branded the 2019 vote the “hate-speech election” as digital discourse is “weaponised … online mobs instigated by one party against another — with evidence of automated digital militias specially programmed to spew anti-Muslim and anti-Semitic messages”.

ISD identified over 365 pages, accounts and groups on Facebook, over 1,350 accounts on Twitter and over 100 channels and videos on YouTube that promote hate speech, disinformation or extremist content.

Common patterns emerged that “go beyond the copying of the latest electronic tactics and which together constitute a ‘playbook’ for a full-scale campaign against constitutional democracy”.

Tech companies were struggling to keep up, it said, despite the EU and member states passing new regulation to curb viral deception and hate speech. They were “failing to fulfil their many promises to safeguard the integrity of elections”.

Facebook has taken down nearly 80 pages spreading fake news or using tactics that appeared aimed at unfairly influencing the vote, an NGO reported Wednesday.

Avaaz said it had alerted Facebook to more than 500 pages and accounts suspected of fuelling disinformation campaigns.

The ISD, which “seeks solutions to extremism”, used social media mapping, undercover online reporting, media monitoring and policy analysis to track the campaigns.”

  9. Modest proposal: abjure and avoid the term “anitsemitism” AKA “anti-Semitism” because it is a euphemism for anti-Jewish hatred and was formulated to espouse that philosophy.

I read a lot on Saturdays, so came across a recent article that brought this to my attention. Here’s a link to similar information about the man who coined the euphemistic term and the philosophy behind it. The article that I read noted that the currently used term for anti-Jewish hatred plays into the hands of people who want to conjoin anti-Arab sentiments with anti-Semitism as if these two peoples were racially related to the Biblical Shem. (See genealogy https://www.gotquestions.org/sons-of-Noah.html)

https://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/wilhelm-marr Wilhelm Marr led the fight to overturn Jewish emancipation in Germany. Marr’s conception of antisemitism focused on the supposed racial, as opposed to religious, characteristics of the Jews. His organization, the League of Antisemites, introduced the word “antisemite” into the political lexicon and established the first popular political movement based entirely on anti-Jewish beliefs.
