Mr. Webb’s summary makes a glaring omission by not going deeper into the fragility of Iran’s economy. It’s a well-known fact that the country’s superannuated gasoline refineries are one particularly weak link in their entire national supply chain.
While this information is several years old, it’s still a safe bet that the almost TWO BILLION DOLLAR LOVE-LETTER sent to them by 0bama never found its way into repairing those decrepit catalytic separation towers and hydrocracking maintenance. As always, killing Jews is a much higher priority than fiscal responsibility for a state’s economy ever will be.
I suppose the West must thank our loyal ally India [spit] for regularly topping off Iran’s tanks as it limped through the Ahmadinejad era. Back then, legend has it that a single night’s stealth bombing run combined with a stand-off distance naval gasoline tanker embargo would have put them straight down the toilet.
Eeyore, please ask Mr. Webb regarding this. Also about whatever permanent damage and lasting ripple effects arose from Amadinejad’s disastrous program of Khodkafa’I (or national self-reliance). It would be absolutely priceless to get some historic perspective about this Shiitestorm (i.e., fiasco), coming from someone of his expert background.

First the administration has denied planning on sending 120,000 troops to that region. In fact the statement was “if we are going to send troops it will be a lot more.”
She also starts the timeline with the defection of the Revolutionary Guard General, and notes that this was probably why we shut down the direct flights to Venezuela. I always have to wonder how much more she knows but isn’t telling because it would betray her sources of info.
Vlad your idea that the Iranians used a cut out to give them plausible deniability is good and the use of the Houthis would explain the less then steller performance of the people carrying out the attack. Hezbollah has been showing a much more professional level of competence lately.
