“While the financial burden of immigration has somewhat subsided compared to the peak year of 2015, immigrants still costs Denmark a whopping $4.5 billion annually.
The Danish Finance Ministry has published a new report on the total cost of immigration in 2016. According to the Ministry, the report can only be made with a few years’ delay, as it is based on extensive data that isn’t available until later on, the Danish newspaper Avisen reported.
In 2016, immigrants and their descendants cost Danish society DKK 30 billion ($4.5 billion). The calculations include both immigrants and their descendants. Overall, the report revealed about 719,000 people leaving an imprint on government finances.
Roughly speaking, the report highlights this group’s contribution to society in terms of tax revenues compared to costs the Treasury incurs from, income transfers, education, legal expenses and health care.
For the sake of comparison, in 2015, when Denmark received about 20,000 asylum seekers, the highest figure in its modern history, the figure was DKK 35 billion ($5.3 billion). The main explanation for the drop is that more non-Western immigrants have come to work.

British Think Tank Reportedly Offered to Spy on Right-Wing Swedish Politicians (sputniknews, Apr 23, 2019)

“Not only has the Institute for Strategic Dialogue smeared a senior Sweden Democrat as a “far-right extremist”, it also offered the Swedish authorities its help in gathering data on him and his associates abroad through “investigative work”.
The Institute for Strategic Dialogue (ISD), a British think tank which had previously called for financial sanctions against Sweden’s alternative media, also offered the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB) the ability to spy on Sweden’s right-wing politicians, the news outlet Samhällsnytt reported.
Samhällsnytt has gained access to an e-mail from the organisation’s researcher Chloe Colliver, who claimed to have “uncovered links” between the Swedish right-wingers, influencers she labelled “far right” and Hungary, naming anti-immigrant Sweden Democrat Kent Ekeroth as “the most obvious example”.
“To uncover more about these links, we would have had to engage in more offline, investigative journalism work. I believe there would be lots more to uncover in terms of offline links, support and financial backing connecting Hungarian and Swedish far right movements. It was not something we were able to cover ourselves in any detail, but many journalists have started to see a real infrastructure of support built in Hungary to support these kind of international movements, both in elections and outside of elections. Let me know if I can provide any more information on that,” Chloe Colliver wrote, as quoted by Samhällsnytt.
This e-mail, the news outlet claims, is part of a longer correspondence between Colliver and a Swedish MSB official. A few days later, MSB published a report by ISD which proposed sanctions against alternative media outlets which offer substantiated criticism of immigration, such as Samhällsnytt, Fria Tider and Nyheter Idag.
Kent Ekeroth represented the Sweden Democrats in the Swedish parliament between 2010 and 2018, and profiled himself as a staunch opponent of Islam and immigration. During his time as an MP, Ekeroth supported the deportation of criminal immigrants, an idea that has since been adopted by the more radical Alternative for Sweden, which openly markets itself as a “repatriation party”. Ekeroth has since moved to the Hungarian capital Budapest.
“It is extremely serious when authorities receive offers to spy on Swedish politicians abroad. Colliver mentions ‘investigative journalism’ in her email, but she is not a journalist and her organisation is not part of the press. Therefore, it is crystal clear what this is about, political espionage against the opposition under the auspices of MSB. The fact that she repeatedly refers to Swedish politicians as ‘extreme right’ in the e-mail shows that this is an accepted way of communicating with MSB” Kent Ekeroth told Samhällsnytt.
The Institute for Strategic Dialogue is a London-based organisation which bills itself as a “think and do tank” poised to tackle the “rising challenges of violent extremism, inter-communal conflict and polarisation” and “empower grassroots networks against hate and extremism”.
MSB is a Swedish state authority that belongs to the Justice Ministry with responsibility for emergency preparedness and civil defence.
The Sweden Democrats are the country’s largest right-wing party, which despite its substantial electoral successes hasn’t been able to elevate any of its MPs to a cabinet-level post due to other parties collaborating to edge it out by forming a “cordon sanitaire”.”

“The Pentagon are reviewing military guidance after the disarming of two US soldiers in the Texas border country by Mexican troops, a source revealed.
According to the US Northern Command, ‘five or six’ armed Mexican soldiers questioned two American troops conducting operations near the border on April 13.
Officials said the Mexicans were armed with rifles and raised their weapons when they saw the US soldiers, before stripping them of Beretta M9 pistol near Clint, Texas.
The Pentagon are carrying out inquiries that ‘will help us modify any instructions that we’re giving the troops,’ a defense source told the Washington Examiner.
The official told the paper he could not recall an incident of its kind and that though the soldiers were trained in how to ‘de-escalate,’ there was no protocol for these unusual circumstances.
He added that the men had followed the correct protocol in de-escalation by handing over the pistol, though this had left them defenseless.
The Americans were in an unmarked Customs and Border Protection (CBP) vehicle near the southwest border when they were approached by an unmarked truck.
Neither party could recognize the other and each was confused as to why the other was in the area.
‘That area of the border is kind of confusing,’ another NORTHCOM official told the Examiner. ‘It may have been difficult for them [Mexican forces] to know if they didn’t know the area as well or were new or something. I don’t think — it definitely wasn’t trying to overtake the U.S.’
He told the paper: ‘There was a U.S. Army soldier that was one of the two that spoke Spanish. That was about when they came to realize they were Mexican military.’
They reportedly decided to oblige the men ‘in an attempt to de-escalate a potential volatile situation.’
‘Throughout the incident, the U.S. soldiers followed all established procedures and protocols,’ a statement said on Monday.
‘An inquiry by CBP and DOD [Department of Defense] revealed that the Mexican military members believed that the US Army soldiers were south of the border,’ the statement said.
‘Though they were south of the border fence, U.S. soldiers remained in U.S. territory, north of the actual border.’
Pentagon and Department of Homeland Security officials demanded an explanation from the Mexican government.
It comes as Mexico said Saturday it had ‘deep concern’ about armed groups that intimidate and extort migrants on the border, shortly after the ACLU and Democratic senators called for a probe into such citizen efforts to block migrants from crossing.
‘These types of practices can drive human rights abuses of people who migrate or request asylum or refuge in the United States,’ Mexico’s Foreign Relations Ministry said in a statement, referring to ‘militia groups’ in New Mexico.
It added that patrols ‘on the margins’ of the law create risks for the safety of migrants.
On Thursday, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) of New Mexico condemned the United Constitutional Patriots, which patrols the southern U.S. border in New Mexico, as a ‘fascist militia organization’ operating outside the law.
The group has posted videos showing members dressed in camouflage and armed with semi-automatic rifles holding groups of migrants, many Central American families seeking asylum, until U.S. Border Patrol agents arrive.
The small volunteer group says it is helping the Border Patrol deal with a surge in undocumented migrants at the southern border. U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration has toughened various policies and put pressure on Mexico in an attempt to discourage people from attempting to cross into the United States illegally.
Along with the ACLU, New Mexico Democratic senators Martin Heinrich and Tom Udall also called for an investigation into the border group.
‘Threatening innocent children and families fleeing violence and seeking asylum is unacceptable and flies in the face of our values as a state and a nation,’ they said in a joint statement on Twitter on Friday.”

“A shooting activist says he has lost his firearms licences after his YouTube videos advocating gun rights became a ‘forum for extremism.’
Callum Long Collins, who runs the English Shooting YouTube channel, confirmed that the police are not going to reinstate his licences after they were revoked in 2016.
Mr Long-Collins, 28, from Fareham, Hampshire, said the police took action after he called for the French to be able to use handguns for self defence in the wake of the 2015 Paris terror attacks.
The clip, titled: ‘Paris Attacks: Time for Self Defence’ which has now been deleted, was one of a number attracting comments which the police said were ‘promoting views that were not in line with legal firearms ownership in the UK.’
Mr Long-Collins runs the English Shooting YouTube channel, which reviews legal firearms and promotes the sport of ‘practical shooting.’
According to The Times, in a message to his 17,000 YouTube subscribers, Mr Long-Collins said: ‘I was told that due to repeated comments from other people on the videos, [the police] felt that the channel was a forum of extremism and it was promoting views that were not in line with legal firearms ownership in the UK.’
He told the paper: ‘The main issue was a video that I made around the Paris attacks where I advocated the French to be able to use handguns for self-defence because of the frequency of attacks that were happening at the time.’
Mr Long-Collins lost an appeal against the decision to revoke his gun licences in 2016 at Portsmouth crown court.
He has been told by police recently that they are unlikely to reinstate the licences in the near future, The Times reports.
In a BBC interview in 2016 Mr Long Collins said it felt ‘illegal’ in the UK to have any sort of opinion on gun rights and using guns for self defence.
Mr Long-Collins told the times that police had reviewed his licences over ‘a false allegation of assault.’
But he said they then became concerned about his social media output.
Mr Long-Collins said that he wanted to ‘open up the conversation’.
Tony Hill, the head of firearms licensing at Hampshire police, said that when certificates were revoked it was ‘because we have real concerns that public safety could be at risk.'”
He is advocating letting the people defend themselves rather then depending on the police. Of course the British Government is going to want to punish him for trying to take power away from them.

“Hungary is making an immediate donation of 30,000 euros to assist survivors and orphans of the Sri Lanka Easter massacre and is discussing an additional larger gift.
“The Hungarian government is offering nine million Hungarian forints in emergency aid to the severely injured survivors and the orphaned children of the Easter Sunday attacks in Sri Lanka,” the State Secretary for the Aid of Persecuted Christians and the “Hungary Helps” program announced Monday evening.
The secretary, Azbej Tristan, said that Hungary will examine the possibility of further, larger-scale assistance. After the terrorist attacks resulting in over 300 deaths, the first task is to provide victims with compassion, he said.
Mr. Tristan also criticized efforts to silence the reality that “this was an anti-Christian and anti-Western attack.”
In the United States, liberals like Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton have been called out on social media and elsewhere for avoiding the term “Christians” when speaking of the target of the attacks, preferring to refer to them as “Easter worshipers.”
In his statement Monday, Mr. Tristan said that Christianity is currently the most persecuted religion in the world and yet they receive little attention from “major international organizations and Western governments.”…”
Neighbours Complain After Belgian Woman Hosts 100 Illegal Migrants in Her Garden (breitbart, Apr 23, 2019)

“A woman in the Belgian village of Spy is causing controversy among other residents by hosting around 100 migrants in her garden while they attempt to illegally reach the UK.
The woman, named Améline, has hosted a number of migrants on her property for the better part of a year but the number has grown to where there are now nearly one hundred, mostly African, migrants camped in tents in the area, broadcaster RTL reports.
The migrants are fed, housed and cleaned for by Améline and her family. “We try to do our best, they are clean … we are always behind them, but it’s not easy for us, we are starting to become exhausted,” Améline said.
While at least one neighbour helps Améline, several others have demanded that the police act and move the illegal migrants from the village, with one resident arguing that the camp smelled terrible in the summer.
Améline has attempted to placate the neighbours by moving some of the migrant tents to a nearby motorway where migrants often attempt to hitch a ride on trucks headed for the UK.
“I respect the work of the police and the commune. If they come, they come but not on my private land! That’s for sure!” Améline said after police vowed to move some of the migrant tents from the area.
Other areas of Belgium are also dealing with migrant squatter camps, some in public parks such as Brussels’ Maximilien Park where organised gangs set up “intimate spaces” for migrants to have sex with local prostitutes last year.
The park has also become a hub for criminality and violence with a police officer being stabbed after attempting to wake up a pair of migrants.
Most of the migrants are actively attempting to reach the UK, rather than stay in Belgium. This led Kruibeke police chief Wim Pieteraerens to question why his officers should detain them and not allow them to pass to the UK.”

“Police have confirmed that a fire in the French church of Notre-Dame de Grâce on Easter Sunday appears to have been intentionally set, making it the latest in a string of desecrations of Christian churches in the country.
The fire was started in a large, wooden confessional around 4:30pm and proceeded to consume a dais in the presbytery of the eighteenth-century church located in the southern French town of Eyguières, near Provence.
“Flames several meters high were coming out of the church,” said the mayor of Eyguières, Henri Pons, before a team of 30 firefighters with six vehicles arrived and managed to contain the blaze.
An area of some 20 square meters in the church was destroyed but observers have noted that the damage would have been far worse had it not been it not for the bold intervention of a local inhabitant.
A man who lives in front of the church saw the flames emerging from a stained-glass window, the mayor said. He “used fire extinguishers from the village movie theater and courageously entered the church while waiting for firefighters to arrive.”.
“If this brave citizen, a former top sportsman, had not intervened, the church would probably have burned to the ground,” the mayor reported. “It was Easter Sunday and there was almost nobody in the village.”…”
Sultan of Brunei Sends Letter to European Union Urging ‘Tolerance’ of Death Penalty for Gays (breitbart, Apr 23, 2019)

“In a bizarre move, the Sultan of Brunei has written to the European Union to defend his recent decision to impose strict sharia law punishments in his country.
The Sultan has recently imposed harsh new laws in the Kingdom of Brunei, including death by stoning for anyone convicted of homosexuality, as well as amputations, lashes, and execution for other crimes such as theft and adultery.
In his letter, the Sultan urges the EU to reconsider their view of his new laws, stressing that they will require extraordinary evidence in order to be imposed, and so convictions will be rare, according to The Guardian.
The Sultan attempted to justify his brutal new laws by saying, “The penal sentences of hadd – stoning to death and amputation – imposed for offences of theft, robbery, adultery and sodomy, have extremely high evidentiary threshold, requiring no less than two or four men of high moral standing and piety as witnesses, to the exclusion of every form of circumstantial evidence.”
As regards whipping as a punishment, the letter went on to say, “The offender must be clothed, whipping must be with moderate force without lifting his hand over his head, shall not result in the laceration of the skin nor the breaking of bones, and shall not be inflicted on the face, head, stomach, chest or private parts,”
The unusual decision to send the letter, which urges “tolerance, respect and understanding”, comes as MEPs voted last week to condemn the Kingdom’s new sharia laws and punishments. MEPs have also called for asset freezes for key Brunei officials as well as boycotts of Brunei exports such as luxury hotels around the world.
Recently, Oxford University took the decision to reconsider its honorary degree awarded to the Sultan in 1993. The university had previously refused to revoke the award despite condemnation from all across the world of the Sultan’s decision to appease hardliners in his country by imposing the strict sharia punishments.”

Adelina Lisao, 26, was rescued in February 2018 from a house in northern Malaysia where she was made to sleep on the porch with the family dog. Police said she had bruises and infected wounds on her body and died the next day of multiple organ failure.
Her employer, S. Ambika, 60, was charged with murder. Ambika was acquitted by the High Court last week after prosecutors abruptly dropped the charge without explanation. The acquittal also sparked anger among Malaysian rights groups and a lawmaker involved in rescuing Lisao.
Lalu Muhammad Iqbal, the Indonesian Foreign Ministry’s director of protection for Indonesian citizens overseas, said in a statement Monday that Indonesia’s government was “shocked” and would continue to press for justice for Lisao…”

“Iranian lawmakers on Tuesday overwhelmingly approved a bill that labels all U.S. military forces as terrorist, state TV reported, a day after Washington ratcheted up pressure on Tehran by announcing that no country would any longer be exempt from U.S. sanctions if it continues to buy Iranian oil.
The bill is a step further from the one last week, when lawmakers approved labelling just U.S. troops in the Middle East as terrorist, in response to the U.S. terrorism designation for Iran’s Revolutionary Guard earlier this month.
The Trump administration re-imposed sanctions on Iran, including on its energy sector, last November, after pulling America out of the landmark 2015 nuclear deal between Iran and world powers.
The U.S. designation against Iran’s Revolutionary Guard — the first-ever for an entire division of another government — added another layer of sanctions to the powerful paramilitary force, making it a crime under U.S. jurisdiction to provide the guard with material support.
On Monday, President Donald Trump decided to do away with waivers as part of the administration’s “maximum pressure” campaign on Iran that aims to eliminate all of its revenue from oil exports that the U.S. says funds destabilizing activity throughout the Mideast and beyond.
Hours before Trump’s announcement, Iran reiterated its long-running threat to close the Strait of Hormuz if it’s prevented from using the crucial waterway in the Persian Gulf through which about a third of all oil traded at sea passes. The U.S. Navy has in the past accused Iranian patrol boats of harassing American warships in the waterway.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry promptly brushed off Trump’s move to stop the oil waivers, saying the Islamic Republic “basically has not seen and does not see any worth and validity for the waivers.”
But on Tuesday, 173 out of 215 lawmakers at the parliament session in Tehran voted for the new bill. Only four voted against while the rest abstained; the chamber has 290 seats.
The bill confirms Iran’s earlier label of the U.S. Central Command, also known as CENTCOM, and all its forces as terrorist. Any military and non-military help, including logistics support, to CENTCOM that can be detrimental to the Revolutionary Guard will be considered a terrorist action, the semi-official ISNA news agency said.
The bill also demands the Iranian government take unspecified action against other governments that formally back the U.S. designation. Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Israel have all supported the Trump administration’s designation.
The lawmakers also requested Iran’s intelligence agency provide a list of all CENTCOM commanders within three months so that Iran’s judiciary can prosecute them in absentia as terrorists.
The bill requires final approval by Iran’s constitutional watchdog to become law.
Other than underscoring Iran’s defiance, it’s unclear what impact the bill could actually have, either in the Persian Gulf or beyond. The Revolutionary Guard has forces and wields influence in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon and Yemen, and is in charge of Iranian missiles that have U.S. bases in their range.”

“The women say it was misguided religious faith, naivety, a search for something to believe in or youthful rebellion. Whatever it was, it led them to travel across the world to join the Islamic State group.
Now after the fall of the last stronghold of the group’s “caliphate,” they say they regret it and want to come home.
The Associated Press interviewed four foreign women who joined the caliphate and are now among tens of thousands of IS family members, mostly women and children, crammed into squalid camps in northern Syria overseen by the U.S.-backed Kurdish-led forces who spearheaded the fight against the extremist group.
Many in the camps remain die-hard supporters of IS. Women in general were often active participants in IS’s rule. Some joined women’s branches of the “Hisba,” the religious police who brutally enforced the group’s laws. Others helped recruit more foreigners. Freed Yazidi women have spoken of cruelties inflicted by female members of the group.
Within the fences of al-Hol camp, IS supporters have tried to recreate the caliphate as much as possible. Some women have re-formed the Hisba to keep camp residents in line, according to officers from the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces guarding the camp. While the AP was there, women in all-covering black robes and veils known as niqab tried to intimidate anyone speaking to journalists; children threw stones at visitors, calling them “dogs” and “infidels.”
The four women interviewed by the AP said joining IS was a disastrous mistake. The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces gave the AP access to speak to the women at two camps under their administration.
“How could I have been so stupid, and so blind?” said Kimberly Polman, a 46-year-old Canadian woman who surrendered herself to the SDF earlier this year.
The women insisted they had not been active IS members and had no role in its atrocities, and they all said their husbands were not fighters for IS. Those denials and much in their accounts could not be independently confirmed. The interviews took place with Kurdish security guards in the room.
To many, their expressions of regret likely ring hollow, self-serving or irrelevant. Travelling to the caliphate, the women joined a group whose horrific atrocities were well known, including sex enslavement of Yazidi women, mass killings of civilians and grotesque punishments of rule-breakers, ranging from lashings, public shootings and crucifixions, to beheadings and hurling from rooftops.
Their pleas to return home point to the thorny question of what to do with the men and women who joined the caliphate and their children. Governments around the world are reluctant to take back their nationals. The SDF complains it is being forced to shoulder the burden of dealing with them…”

Mexican soldiers detain American soldiers on U.S. soil. Government response: ?
The Mexican government is powerless to control the cartels at our border. But somehow when it comes to belligerently confronting our own soldiers on our own soil, the Mexicans seem to muster the personnel and temerity to defend their side of the border. Moreover, they apparently have the unbridled impudence to complain about armed American citizens defending our border, while they have permanently transformed our country in the worst way imaginable through their disrespect of our sovereignty. This is clearly no longer about immigration, but about a pure invasion that requires a military buildup.
On April 13, at around 2 p.m. Central Time, a group of five or six suspected Mexican soldiers approached an unmarked vehicle of two U.S. soldiers stationed at the border in El Paso County, Texas, and ordered them out of the vehicle. According to Newsweek, which obtained the “serious incident report,” the soldiers were in fact active duty members of B Battery, 1st Battalion, 37th Field Artillery Regiment, not from a National Guard unit. The Mexican soldiers disarmed one of the U.S. soldiers and placed his sideaerm in the U.S. vehicle.
While the soldiers were parked south of the border fence near Clint, Texas, they were north of the Rio Grande riverbed, which placed them “appropriately in U.S. territory,” according to Maj. Mark Lazane, a spokesman for NORTHCOM. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and the Department of Defense (DOD), after inquiring of the Mexican government, were informed that the Mexican soldiers thought that the Americans were south of the border. “Throughout the incident, the U.S. soldiers followed all established procedures and protocols,” according to NORTHCOM.
NORTHCOM confirmed that there are approximately 2,800 service members assigned to the border mission. “This includes approximately 1,200 on the Mobile Surveillance Camera mission, plus about 1,000 service members hardening ports of entry in Texas and New Mexico. There are approximately 200 personnel as part of a crisis response force, with the remainder being headquarters and logistics personnel supporting the mission.”
When I asked both NORTHCOM and the State Department if our government had conveyed our concerns to Mexico and asked for an apology, both departments declined to comment.

SEOUL, April 23 (Reuters) – North Korean leader Kim Jong Un will visit Russia for a summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin, North Korean state media confirmed.
With his Russia visit, North Korea’s Kim is seen working to build up foreign support for his economic development plans, since the breakdown of the second U.S.-North Korea summit in Hanoi in February led to stalled talks with Washington on the sanctions relief Pyongyang had sought.
State media Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said the visit will happen “soon,” but did not elaborate the time or the venue.
Putin and Kim are on track to meet by the end of April, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Monday.

QINGDAO, China, April 23 (Reuters) – China showed off the first of its new generation of guided missile destroyers on Tuesday as President Xi Jinping reviewed a major naval parade through mist and rain to mark 70 years since the founding of China’s navy.
Xi is overseeing a sweeping plan to refurbish the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) by developing everything from stealth jets to aircraft carriers as China ramps up its presence in the disputed South China Sea and around self-ruled Taiwan, which has rattled nerves around the region and in Washington.
The navy has been a major beneficiary of the modernisation, with China looking to project power far from its shores and protect its trading routes and citizens overseas.
After boarding the destroyer the Xining, which was only commissioned two years ago, Xi watched as a flotilla of Chinese and foreign ships sailed past, in waters off the eastern port city of Qingdao.

As Leef notes, conservative “Daily Wire writer Michael Knowles was on campus to give a talk, and his conservative views were known to a group of hecklers who did everything they could” to keep him from speaking, including spraying him with what initially appeared to be bleach, but ultimately “turned out to be a non-toxic substance.” UMKC officials responded poorly. One of the key discussions we have had at Liberty Unyielding in the last few years is about developments in the use of terminology and how they shape our premises when we talk about issues. Examples include things like the mainstream media referring to traditional-marriage supporters as “anti-LGBTQ,” as if that is an accurate characterization rather than a biased propaganda expression. The same applies to calling people who want secure borders for the United States “white supremacists.”
This past Easter weekend, we saw the Left go beyond the obvious tendentiousness of its previous exertions in this area. It has gone to a new level of deliberate exclusion of facts, and even to the complete loss of connection to reality.
Probably the most famous instance at this point is the choice of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton to decry the bombing attacks in Sri Lanka as attacks on “Easter worshippers.”
The attacks were at churches and hotels. To the extent the latter may have been full of Christians traveling for Easter, perhaps there is a case that referring to “Easter worshippers” covers territory similar to what would be covered by referring to “Hajj pilgrims” if there were attacks at multiple venues in Mecca.

BREITBART – Neighbours Complain After Belgian Woman Hosts 100 Illegal Migrants in Her Garden
A woman in the Belgian village of Spy is causing controversy among other residents by hosting around 100 migrants in her garden while they attempt to illegally reach the UK.
The woman, named Améline, has hosted a number of migrants on her property for the better part of a year but the number has grown to where there are now nearly one hundred, mostly African, migrants camped in tents in the area, broadcaster RTL reports.
The migrants are fed, housed and cleaned for by Améline and her family. “We try to do our best, they are clean … we are always behind them, but it’s not easy for us, we are starting to become exhausted,” Améline said.
While at least one neighbour helps Améline, several others have demanded that the police act and move the illegal migrants from the village, with one resident arguing that the camp smelled terrible in the summer.

“Saudi Arabia beheaded 37 Saudi citizens for what it said Tuesday were terrorism-related crimes, the Interior Ministry said, publicly pinning two of the bodies to a pole as a warning to others.
The report said the executions were carried out by beheading and that two of the executed men’s bodies were publicly pinned to a poll for several hours in a process that is not frequently used by the kingdom and has sparked controversy for its grisly display. The government defends such executions as a powerful tool for deterrence.
The Interior Ministry statement said those executed had adopted extremist ideologies and formed terrorist cells with the aim of spreading chaos and provoking sectarian strife. It said the individuals had been found guilty according to the law and ordered executed by the Specialized Criminal Court in Riyadh, which specializes in terrorism trials, and the country’s high court.
The individuals were found guilty of attacking security installations with explosives, killing a number of security officers and cooperating with enemy organizations against the interests of the country, the Interior Ministry said.
The statement was carried across state-run media, including the Saudi news channel al-Ekhbariya. The statement read on the state-run news channel opened with a verse from the Quran that condemns attacks that aim to create strife and disharmony and warns of great punishment for those who carry out such attacks.
Those executed hailed from Riyadh, Mecca, Medina and Asir, as well as Shiite Muslim populated areas of the Eastern Province and Qassim. The executions also took place in those various regions.
The statement named all those executed, which included several from large families and tribes in Saudi Arabia.

Arrest of journalist at Yellow Vest protest ‘affront’ to press freedom, groups claim
French press freedom groups have described the arrest of journalist Gaspard Glanz at the Yellow Vest protest in Paris over the weekend as “an affront to freedom of the press.”
Glanz, a freelance video journalist covering social movements, was arrested while covering a demonstrations at Place de la République in Paris on Saturday.
Placed in custody for “insult to a representative of public authority” and “participation in a group with a view to causing violence and degradations”, Glanz remained in custody on Monday, awaiting referral to a court.
Police also arrested freelance journalist Alexis Kraland on Saturday but released him in the evening.
A video of the arrest shows Glanz asking a line of police officers to speak to a superintendent, claiming he was targeted by a tear gas grenade. When an officer pushes Glanz away, he gives the officer the finger, and a group of officers arrest him.
Giving the finger to a police officer is grounds for arrest on charges of insult of a representative of public authority.
Lawyer Raphael Kempf said the 48-hour period of custody was “disproportionate and illegal” and amounted to “an affront to freedom of the press and the freedom to inform”.
“If they wanted to interrogate him for giving the finger to a security officer, there is no need to keep him in custody, he could be summoned to a tribunal,” Kempf said.
Fifty journalists and others rallied in support outside the courthouse on Monday to protest Glanz’s extended detention, and the hashtag #FreeGaspardGlanz was trending on Twitter for much of the day.
A petition calling for Glanz’s release and for his name to be removed from a watch list of allegedly dangerous individuals had more than 20,000 signatures on Monday evening.
Journalism or activism
Glanz and his production company Taranis News are part of a recent trend of video journalists immersed in social movements, filming with light materials, often during clashes between protesters and police.
Glanz considers himself a journalist, while others consider themselves activists or both.
French newspaper Libération reports that Glanz played a role in reviewing images that broke the scandal surrounding Alexandre Benalla, President Emmanuel Macron’s former bodyguard.
Saturday’s arrest and Monday’s court referral were not the first time Glanz has faced legal procedures for incidents related to his activity as a reporter.
He was ordered to pay a symbolic fine for picking up a riot police officer’s walkie-talkie while covering the clearing of the “Jungle” refugee camp in Calais in 2016.
He later faced legal action, dropped according to his lawyer, for posting a Nazi slogan beside a photo of police officers on Facebook.
Press support
But Glanz’s arrest drew support of press freedom groups, who spoke of a generalised targeting of journalists covering the Yellow Vest protests.
“We are shocked by the general repression of many journalists since the beginning of the Yellow Vest movement,” said Dominique Pradalié, general secretary of the National Union of Journalists at the courthouse rally, adding journalists have filed “dozens of complaints” since the movement began last November.
The union in a statement said authorities were seeking “to intimidate journalists by preventing them from informing the citizens of the country”.
The press freedom group Reporters Without Borders also gave a general warning about police targeting journalists during demonstrations.
“A number of incidents since the beginning of the Yellow Vest movement, targeting both professional and non-professional journalists clearly identified as members of the press as they are filming or taking pictures, hinders the work of the press and limits the capturing of images of events that by their nature are of a crucial public interest,” said Catherine Monnet, the group’s deputy editor in chief.
Reports of injuries
Another union, CFDT-journalistes, called for an investigation into police conduct and said it was considering going to France’s rights defender body in regards to security forces’ respect for its code of ethics.
Several journalists reported being wounded during Saturday’s protests.
Two journalists reported being hit by sting-ball grenades in Toulouse, and in Paris, a photographer with AFP agency “was hit by a tear gas grenade in his legs” and “was hit, not in a moment of action,” by a police officer, according to the agency.
The French government said that police were often confronted with a difficulty of ensuring journalists were able to do their work.
“Security forces are mobilised every Saturday to prevent violence and ensure the security of demonstrators but also of journalists who regularly, and again this Saturday, take sides,” an interior ministry spokesperson told AFP agency Sunday.
“If journalists are arrested, which can happen, they are not arrested as journalists as such, but due to infractions.”

An independent journalist has vowed to continue attending gilets jaunes demonstrations in Paris and said he will also be at the May 1 marches, despite a court ban pending a trial in October.
Gaspard Glanz was arrested at Saturday’s gilets jaunes protest in the capital, and will face charges of “contempt of a person holding public authority” when he goes to trial on October 18. Until then, he has been banned from publishing content in Paris on Saturdays and on May 1.
His lawyer immediately announced that he intended to challenge this decision, which “infringes on the freedom of the press and the freedom to work”.
Mr Glanz has worked as an independent video journalist for 10 years, covering social movements on the ground – such as the gilets jaunes protests in Paris – for traditional media outlets and, more recently, the Taranis News website that he founded. But he does not hold an official press card – he would, he said on leaving court apply for one.
He said that he, “will go to the demonstration on Saturday and 1 May despite the ban imposed on me”.
“It’s my job, and I live in Paris,” he added.
“If I am caught up in the protest on Saturday, if they want to put me in jail because I am a journalist and I am only filming demonstrators, let them do it,” he said.
“With or without permission, I will be there, whatever the consequences, because I am a journalist in France, in a country of freedom.”
Mr Glanz has received the backing of journalist union the Syndicat national des journalistes (SNJ) and the Reporters sans frontières association, which both condemned the journalist’s treatment by police.
The SNJ’s secretary general, Dominique Pradalié, said: “The National Union of Journalists and the profession are outraged. Such repression against journalists has rarely been seen in our country. We are working with dozens of colleagues who have filed complaints of police violence. One journalist had his kneecap broken recently, another his press card confiscated…”
Film of the incident showed that Mr Glanz was arrested after gesticulating angrily at an officer during Saturday’s protests. He spent nearly 48 hours in custody before being released following a court hearing at which his trial date was set, Le Monde reported.

Former U.S. president Barack Obama is visiting the nation’s capital next month for a question-and-answer session.
The event, hosted by the progressive think-tank Canada 2020, will be at the Canadian Tire Centre on May 31.
Canada 2020 chairman Tom Pitfield said Obama is a “generation-defining political leader” and an inspiration to millions of people around the world.
Tickets for the event start at $75, the think-tank said, and are on sale Friday.
Since Obama’s presidency ended in January 2017, he’s become a big name on the paid speaking circuit and appeared at similar events in Vancouver, Calgary and Winnipeg in March.
In 2016, as president, he addressed Canada’s Parliament and received a standing ovation and cheers in the House of Commons.

Kuwaiti new-age therapist Dr. Mariam Al-Sohel said in a March 25, 2019 interview on Scope TV (Kuwait) that she has developed an anal suppository based on the “Prophetic medicine” of the Prophet Muhammad.
Dr. Sohel claims that the new suppository cures homosexuality by exterminating the “anal worm that feeds on semen.”
Showing examples of the suppositories, she claimed that this treatment has been subjected to modern research and testing.
She referred to homosexual men as “the third gender” and to “butch lesbians” as the “fourth gender” and said that the new treatment “cures” both.
She also claimed to have developed a balanced diet as part of the treatment that includes plenty of bitter foods and root vegetables, the consumption of which she said increases masculinity in men.
Dr. Al-Sohel was presented as a “Human Development Advisor,” and on social media she identifies as a Reiki Master, and a member of Toastmasters International.
She said that she received an honorary doctorate in “Sex Management,” homosexuality, and sexual harassment from the International Union of Universities in Turkey.

f you read the Weissmann/Mueller report carefully one aspect stands out strongly; the Mueller investigation was fully committed to The Steele Dossier. An inordinate amount of the report is focused on justifying their investigative validity and purpose in looking at the claims within the Steele Dossier.
Repeatedly, the investigative unit references their mandate based around the Steele Dossier, and the mid-summer 2016 origin of the FBI counterintelligence operation.
Why? Why was/is Crossfire Hurricane (July ’16) and the Steele Dossier (Oct. ’16) so important to the principle intelligence apparatus, and the Mueller team (’17, ’18, ’19)?
I believe former NSA Director Admiral Mike Rogers has told us the answer. In early 2016 Rogers caught on to a massive and pre-existing weaponization of government surveillance and the use of collected NSA metadata for political spy operations. Everything, that comes AFTER March 2016 is one big blanket cover-up operation….. ALL OF IT.
The Russian election interference narrative; the use of Joseph Mifsud, Stefan Halper, the London and Australian embassy personnel; Erika Thompson, Alexander Downer, U.S. DIA officials; everything around Crossfire Hurricane; and everything after to include the construct of the Steele Dossier; all of it was needed for the creation of an ‘after-the-fact‘ plausible justification to cover-up what Mike Rogers discovered in early 2016, AND the downstream unmasked records that existed in the Obama White House SCIF.
Fusion GPS was not hired in April 2016 to research Donald Trump. The intelligence community was already doing surveillance and spy operations. They already knew everything about the Trump campaign. The Obama intelligence community needed Fusion GPS to give them a justification for pre-existing surveillance and spy operations.
That’s why the FBI, and later the Mueller team, are so strongly committed to, and defending, the formation of the Steele Dossier and its dubious content.

According to videos emerging on social media, a huge column of smoke can be seen rising from the area. Police have cordoned off the perimeter and urged passersby to avoid the area.

The man was believed to have been attacked in Falling Lane.
