Daily Links Post graphic

Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We muse use it while we can.

  2. Maryland man inspired by the Islamic State group plotted to ram a stolen U-Haul truck into as many pedestrians as possible at a popular convention and tourist destination just outside the nation’s capital, federal prosecutors said Monday.

The allegation was made in a court filing as prosecutors in Maryland urged a judge to keep the defendant, 28-year-old Rondell Henry, detained on a charge of driving a stolen vehicle across state lines. The police arrested him on March 28 after officers who discovered the stolen truck saw him leap over a security fence.

Henry then made incriminating statements that show steps he took to maximize damage, prosecutors say.

“I was just going to keep driving and driving and driving. I wasn’t going to stop,” the document quotes Henry as telling law enforcement authorities who questioned him. He said he wanted to create “panic and chaos” similar to a deadly truck attack that killed scores of people in Nice, France, in 2016, prosecutors say.

  3. CNN – Racist and anti-Semitic comments flooded YouTube livestream of congressional hearing on white nationalism

YouTube was forced to disable comments on a livestream of a House Judiciary hearing on hate crimes and white nationalism on social media Tuesday morning after it was flooded racist and anti-Semitic comments.

The hateful comments were an illustration of one of the issues at hand: Silicon Valley’s ongoing struggle to stop the spread of hate across its platforms. Lawmakers are exploring possible legislative options on the issue.

Rep. Jerry Nadler, a Democrat who chairs the committee, read during the hearing from a Washington Post story that referenced the hateful comments. Republican Rep. Louie Gohmert quickly responded, “could that be another hate hoax? Just keep an open mind.”

MSNBC – Lawmakers To Grill Facebook And Google On Hate Speech

    • WaPo- A flood online of hate speech greets lawmakers probing Facebook and Google about white nationalism

A tense congressional hearing to explore the spread of white nationalism on social media quickly served to illustrate the problem Silicon Valley faces after anonymous users on YouTube began posting vitriolic attacks that targeted others on the basis of race and religion.

The hearing — held by the House Judiciary Committee — was streamed live on the video site owned by Google, which testified Tuesday. Alongside the stream, a live chat featured posts from users, some of whom published anti-Semitic screeds and argued that white nationalism is not a form of racism.

“These Jews want to destroy all white nations,” wrote the user Celtic Pride.

“Anti-hate is a code word for anti-white,” wrote another named Fight White Genocide.

Appearing before the committee, Alexandria Walden, the counsel for free expression and human rights at Google, stressed the tech giant has invested in people and technology to remove content that incites violent or spreads hate. “We know the very platforms that have enabled these societal benefits can be abused,” she said.

By the time she spoke, though, YouTube had “disabled comments on the livestream,” citing the uptick in hateful content, the company confirmed. Other YouTube live streams still had live chats enabled.

“This just illustrates part of the problem we’re dealing with,” said Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.), the chairman of the committee, after seeing the Post’s report.

His comment was greeted with skepticism by Rep. Louie Gohmert, a Texas Republican. “Could that be another hate hoax?” he asked. “Just keep an open mind.”

The tension infused the hearing, which had been called to explore the spread of hate speech and the rise of white supremacist movements in the United States, which Nadler described as an “urgent crisis in our country.” He said that white nationalism had motivated many of the world’s deadly attacks, including the neo-Nazi rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, in 2017, the attack on a Pittsburgh synagogue last year and the shooting at two mosques in New Zealand last month.

In many cases, Nadler said, social-media sites had served as “as conduits to spread vitriolic hate messages to every home,” adding that “Congress in recent years also has failed to take seriously the threat.”He and other Democrats also raised the possibility that Trump had worsened the problem, given the president’s rhetoric on Twitter and his administration’s approach to handling hate crimes widely.

Some Republican lawmakers on the committee emphasized they shared a concern about the spread of white supremacy. Their comments came months after one of their own members, Rep. Steve King, faced an overwhelming vote of condemnation in the House for his comments about white nationalism. The top GOP lawmaker on the House Judiciary Committee, Rep. Doug Collins (Ga.), mentioned the matter but not King by name, even as he said that “nothing white nationalists claim resonates with any of us here today.”

But the witnesses invited to testify by Republicans sharply criticized Democrats for holding the hearing. Candace Owens, a prominent conservative and Trump ally, opened the hearing by calling it a form of “fear mongering” that serves as part of Democrats’ 2020 presidential election strategy.

“They blame Facebook, they blame Google, they blame Twitter, really [Democrats] blame the birth of social media, which has disrupted their monopoly on minds,” she said.

Tuesday’s hearing comes just weeks after a shooter targeted two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand in an attack that reverberated widely on social media. The massacre had been broadcast on Facebook, while users on an anonymous web forum, called 8chan, schemed ways to continue to upload it to major tech platforms in a way that evaded their detection.

Appearing Tuesday, Facebook and Google each emphasized their efforts to hire new workers to review troubling content and invest in artificial-intelligence tools that can spot and remove troubling posts and videos before they go viral. “Hate can take many forms beyond overt terrorism, and none of it is permitted on our platform,” said Neil Potts, a public policy director at Facebook.

But the Anti-Defamation League, which testified Tuesday, estimated that white supremacists had been responsible for three quarters of all domestic extremist murders in 2018.“These platforms are like round-the-clock digital white supremacist rallies,” said Eileen Hershenov, the organization’s senior vice president of policy.

To that end, civil-rights advocates urged lawmakers in response to consider and adopt new regulations of social-media giants, following in the footsteps of other countries that have sought to hold Facebook, Google and their peers accountable for harmful content posted online.

“Instead of hiding under hoods, they now organize at computer screens,” said Kristen Clarke, the president of the Lawyers’ Committee for Equal Rights Under Law, about the rise of white supremacists.

  5. 2,000 flee Jakana as Nigeria army prepares offensive against Islamic State (thedefensepost, Apr 9, 2019)

“Around 2,000 people have been forced to flee to the northeastern Nigerian city of Maiduguri ahead of a major offensive against the Islamic State West Africa province faction of Boko Haram, emergency services and residents told AFP on Tuesday, April 9.

AFP reported an unnamed military official in Maiduguri as saying the evacuation was in preparation for a “big operation” against ISWA.

Nigerian troops herded residents of Jakana village in Konduga local Government Area into trucks and ferried them 40 km (25 miles) to a displacement camp in the Borno state capital, a National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) spokesperson said.

Jakana residents were taken to “Bakassi IDP [internally displaced persons] Camp by the military for their safety as a result of ongoing operations to flush out insurgents in the area,” said Abdulkadir Ibrahim.

Camp officials were “mobilizing resources” to care for their basic needs, he added.

The residents of Jakana said they were given no notice.

“The soldiers came this morning and told us to assemble and began herding us into trucks,” Modu Kaka said. “We left all our possessions in Jakana and we are now dependent on food aid.”

  6. MINUSCA peacekeepers in deadly clashes with FDPC armed group in western Central African Republic (thedefensepost, Apr 9, 2019)

“United Nations peacekeepers have clashed with a local militia in western Central African Republic, little more than two months after a deal was agreed aimed at restoring peace to the troubled country, the U.N. said.

Five members of the Democratic Front of the Central African People (FDPC) were killed after the U.N. peacekeeping force MINUSCA launched an operation against the group on Friday, according to an internal note seen by AFP.

The FDPC said it had lost three of its members.

MINUSCA “has launched discussions (with the FDPC), which are ongoing,” the force’s spokesperson, Vladimir Monteiro, told AFP on Tuesday.

A U.N. peacekeeper was wounded in the fighting but left hospital on Tuesday, Monteiro said.

The U.N. accused the FDPC of setting up roadblocks at Zoukombo on Highway 1, the only road linking the capital Bangui to Cameroon, and of stealing a dozen pickup trucks.

Despite reserves of diamonds, gold, uranium, copper and iron, Central African Republic remains one of the world’s poorest countries.

Fighting broke out between the Seleka, a coalition of mainly Muslim rebel groups, and the mainly Christian anti-balaka militia in 2012. A peace deal was signed in January 2013, but Seleka rebels captured the capital Bangui that March and ousted President Francois Bozize.

Seleka was officially disbanded within months, but many fighters refused to disarm, becoming known as ex-Seleka. Many others joined the anti-balaka militia to fight the Seleka, leading to a spiral of violence between groups along religious and ethnic lines…”

  8. Rights Group Says Closing European Ports to Migrants Is ‘Crime Against Humanity’ (breitbart, Apr 9, 2019)

“The human rights watchdog group Permanent Peoples’ Tribunal (PPT) has accused the European Union (EU) and its member states of systemic “crimes against humanity” because of efforts to curb illegal immigration by closing ports and borders.

The Rome-based PPT published a declaration Tuesday “on the violation of human rights of migrants and refugee people,” claiming that “the immigration and asylum policies and practices of the EU and its Member States constitute a total denial of the fundamental rights of people and migrants, and are veritable crimes against humanity.”

A self-anointed international human rights court, the PPT was established in Bologna, Italy, in 1979, inspired by the Russell Tribunal, led by philosophers Bertrand Russell and Jean-Paul Sartre against alleged war crimes committed in Vietnam.

The European Union and its Member States have subjected refugees and migrants to “the most heinous and systematic violations of their fundamental rights (to life, to dignity, to work, to health, to seek a future…),” the text states, “in an environment of total impunity of the responsible actors.”

The nine-page document states that “what is often called a migrant crisis is, in reality, a profound crisis within the European Union which has been shown to have arisen in every country of the Union in one way or another.”

The right to migrate is “being denied to the people migrating from the global South to the global North,” it declares, and the right to come and go along with the right to work “are in reality being denied by closing Europe’s borders.”

European states are failing in their “duty to receive migrants” in the name of affirming “State sovereignty over their territorial domain,” it states. “This policy of closing Europe’s borders, whose prosperity has been created based on an economic system of plundering the resources of the global South cannot be considered legitimate or politically justifiable.”

Curiously, the PPT blames tighter border security for migrant sea deaths, while failing to acknowledge that sea deaths in the Mediterranean dropped by more than half after Italy closed its ports and discouraged migrants from attempting the perilous crossing.

No single factor has been more effective at saving the lives of migrants from death at sea, in fact, than the closing of Italy’s ports…”

  9. Video: Homeless Berlin Man Stabbed in Alleged Anti-Christian Attack (breitbart, Apr 9, 2019)

“Arabic-speaking youths were caught on video assaulting and stabbing a homeless Berlin man is speculated in the German press to be an anti-Christian motivated attack.

The video shows two Arabic-speaking young men verbally harassing a homeless man at a Berlin u-bahn (metro) station with all three of the men coming from an Arabic background, according to police. It is suspected that the motive may have been related to the homeless 29-year-old being Christian, Berliner Zeitung reports.

After physically attacking the victim, one of the men then drew a knife and stabbed him several times, leaving him with severe injuries to the buttocks, thigh, and arm, according to investigators.

Berliner Zeitung claims to have played the shocking footage to two Arabic speakers who translated the attackers’ words as, “We f*ck your sister, we’ll finish you!” and then they went on to say, “Your pig-God, we f *ck your pig-God!”

The newspaper claims that the incident is not the first in which a migrant-background Christian has been physically attacked by Arabic-speaking young men for displaying Christian symbols in public in the German capital.

Recently, a 39-year-old had been beaten for wearing a necklace with a cross on it. In the district of Neukölln, a homosexual man had also been beaten for wearing a cross, claiming attackers had shouted anti-Christian and homophobic slurs at him during the incident.

A spokesman for the Hayat Germany organisation which helps people leave the radical Islamist scene claimed that there was a general hostility amongst radicals to Christians, Jews, and even anger towards Christian holidays and festivals.

One festival that was targeted by a radical Islamist terrorist was the 2016 Berlin Christmas Market in which failed Tunisian asylum seeker Anis Amri hijacked a truck, killed the driver, and used it to run down 11 people and injure 56 others.

Jewish people have also been targetted by Muslim extremists in Berlin, with Jews in the city engaging in a “wear a kippah” protest last year to raise awareness of the rising level of antisemitism in the city.

In January, the city’s first commissioner for antisemitism, Claudia Vanoni, revealed that the number of antisemitic attacks in Berlin had tripled from 2017 to 2018.”

  10. Canada intends to change the law to make it harder for asylum seekers rejected by countries like the US to file refugee claims at the border.

The move comes as thousands of asylum seekers have crossed the border after their claims were rejected in the US.

Amendments were introduced on Monday evening in the Liberal government’s 392-page omnibus budget bill.

An influx of asylum seekers crossing at the US-Canada border has become a hot button political issue.

The law would allow immigration officers at the border to reject refugee claims if the asylum seeker has already made a claim in another country that has an immigration information-sharing agreement with Canada.

These countries include the US, UK, Australia and New Zealand.

The asylum seeker would no longer be entitled to an oral hearing and the claim could not be appealed to an independent tribunal.

Instead, denied claimants would have the right to submit a written, pre-removal risk assessment, which lawyer Kevin Wiener says has about a 3% success rate.

  11. White House Plans To Target Remittance Payments

The White House is planning on targeting remittance payments made by illegal immigrants in the wake of an ongoing migrant flood at the U.S. southern border, a senior administration official told reporters Tuesday.

The plans to target remittance payments come amid a broader shakeup at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and future executive actions designed to curb illegal immigration. The situation at the southern border has escalated in recent weeks, with thousands of migrants arriving daily to claim asylum.

      • With Mexico’s government throwing its weight behind Maduro and letting Latin America’s flotsam and jetsam storm our border, neither can we build The Wall fast enough nor (exactly like Communist China) crash the Mexico City cartel.

Mexico is the New World’s “sick man” of the northern hemisphere. The sewage they are piping into America is toxic beyond belief. These are the least educated and last to assimilate, all of whom will make the bestus ever little brown Democrat voters.

The forces arrayed against America are as varied as they are malignant. Locking out Mexico and kicking away the remittance props cannot happen too soon.

The longer we wait, the more welded into place Mexico’s Narco-Warlords and their handmaiden political cartels will become. Building The Wall after Mexico goes into a full Venezuelan meltdown will be fatally late for us.

When Mexico realizes that every Central and South American indigent they let across their own southern border may wind up staying there forever, the fiestivities will really heat up.

The Southern Wall is America’s Great Firewall against the virus of Multiculturalism. It may not be defined in exactly those terms … yet. But debriding this one festering sore on our nation’s backside would re-equilibrate a lot of different, very distorted, demographic metrics that currently are way out of bounds.

  12. A Mexican mayor from the northern border state of Sonora was given a 15-month prison sentence in the U.S. for passport fraud Monday. The politician was previously accused of having cartel ties.
The recently elected and now former Bácum mayor, Roberto Aboyte Limón, will serve 15 months in U.S. prison after attempting an illegal crossing into Arizona with a passport not his own on December 27, 2018. During examination after his entry, it was determined that Aboyte Limón failed to disclose a prior arrest for cocaine trafficking. Court records indicate that Aboyte Limón attempted to enter the U.S. under the name “Jaime Fernando Bautista,” but when his true identity was discovered, it was determined that he was previously convicted and sentenced to 84 months in a U.S. prison under a third name, Raúl López Montaño.

Aboyte Limón has since been replaced by Francisco Javier Villanueva Gaxiola. Court records indicate that Aboyte Limón attempted to cross into the U.S. with his family to visit Disneyland. He is a member of the Morena party, led by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO).

Canada: Man fined $55K for calling a male a male
GOPUSA StaffDr. Michael Brown Posted On 11:50 am April 9, 2019

We told you this was coming. We warned you it would happen. We were not crying wolf. We were telling you the truth. And now it is here, as a headline announces: “Canadian tribunal fines Bill Whatcott $55,000 for expressing Christian views on ‘transgenderism.’” In other words, Whatcott called a biological male (who identifies as a female) a “biological male.” That was his crime.

What a miscarriage of justice. What an assault of freedom of speech and expression.

John Carpay, president of the Justice Center for Constitutional Freedom, which defended Whatcott, noted in protest that, “The Supreme Court of Canada has long held that freedom of expression is the lifeblood of democracy.” But not when it crosses the lines of transgender activism. Freedom halts there.

Carpay added, “Society is full of people with diverse views and the Tribunal’s decision undermines the foundational principles of the free society and jeopardizes the health of Canada’s democracy.”

Precisely so. But, as I have stated often, this was always the end-goal of radical LGBT activism: the opposition must be silenced. (And until it is legally silenced, it must be socially shamed.)

Last month, a Catholic journalist in England was interrogated by police at her house after she “misgendered” a child with whom she had appeared on TV. How dare she identify the child based on its biological sex. (For the shocking details, see here.)

Now, in Canada, a Christian activist has been fined $55,000 for the “hateful” act of misgendering an adult male. How soon before this reaches America?

  16. PewDiePie, YouTube’s most popular individual creator, is throwing his weight behind DLive — a live-streaming video service that promises far better economic terms for creators than other major platforms.

The vlogger-gamer-comedian, whose name is Felix Kjellberg, says he will use DLive exclusively (for the next several months, anyway) to present weekly live-streams. PewDiePie is slated to kick off his first official DLive stream on Sunday, April 14, at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET, at and the DLive app.

DLive is built on top of the Lino Network blockchain-based currency system. The DLive service doesn’t take a cut of the revenue generated by live-streaming creators through subscriptions or digital “gifts” and it pledges that it never will. That’s compared with other providers, including Amazon’s Twitch, which keeps 50% of channel subscription revenue. In addition, DLive generates credits to reward other participating live-streamers based on consumption of their content.

“I’m excited to start live-streaming again regularly,” Kjellberg said in a statement. “DLive is great for me because I’m treated like a real partner just like all of the other streamers on their unique platform.”

  17. Both Prime Minister Contenders Claim Victory In Israeli General Election
Evie Fordham at The Daily Caller News Foundation (DCNF)

The two contenders for Israel’s prime minister position claimed victory after polls closed Tuesday evening.

Current Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said his coalition had a “clear victory” while his centrist rival Benny Gantz declared, “We won!” reported CNN.

“The right-wing bloc led by the Likud won a clear victory. I thank the citizens of Israel for the trust. I will start forming a right-wing government with our natural partners as soon as tonight,” Netanyahu said.

Trending: BREAKING News About Elizabeth Warren

“We won! The Israeli public has had their say!” Gantz said. “Thank you to the thousands of activists and over a million voters. These elections have a clear winner and a clear loser. Netanyahu promised 40 seats and lost. The President can see the picture and should call on the winner to form the next government. There is no other option!”

Exit polling was “murky,” according to The Associated Press. Last-minute polling had shown Gantz’s Blue and White Alliance barely ahead of Netanyahu’s Likud party and aligned groups.

  18. 7 Killed in Suicide Bombing in Egypt’s Sinai (aawsat, Apr 9, 2019)

“Seven people were killed on Tuesday in a suicide bombing in Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula, announced the Interior Ministry.

The ministry said in a statement that the bomber attacked police forces, killing four, who were inspecting a market in the town of Sheikh Zuweid, wounding another 26 people.

The attacker was around 15 years old, the ministry said, and a six-year-old was among the dead.

The head of investigations in the town and his assistant were among those killed, three security sources said.

A local affiliate of the ISIS group claimed responsibility for the attack.

Egypt has battled terrorists for years in the Sinai Peninsula in an insurgency that has occasionally spilled over to the mainland, striking minority Christians and tourists.

The militants grew deadlier and their attacks more frequent after the overthrow of president Mohammed Morsi, of the Muslim Brotherhood, in 2013. However, an all-out campaign by the military since early 2018 has brought high-profile attacks by the militants to a halt.”

  19. Border Patrol Official Drops Shocking Statistic On Nationalities Of Illegals Crossing Border

There really is a crisis at the border.

At least if you listen to Rio Grande Valley (RGV) Sector Chief Patrol Agent Rodolfo Karisch, who is, after all, a bit of an expert.

At a Senate Homeland Security Committee hearing on Tuesday, Karisch dropped a ton of data and statistics, but none was more eye-popping than this.

Karisch said that in his sector alone, border agents have captured people trying to enter the country illegally from more than 50 different countries, including Turkey, China, Bangladesh, Egypt and Romania. “People are traveling across hemispheres to attempt to illegally enter the U.S., using the same pathways as the Central Americans,” he told lawmakers.

While Democrats claim President Trump is making up a fake crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border — and some presidential candidates, like former Texas Rep. Robert “Beto” O’Roarke, want to do away with all border barriers — Karisch said the influx of illegals is reaching epic proportions.

“Much media attention has focused on caravans coming across from Central America,” Karisch said. “But the fact is that RGV is receiving caravan-equivalent numbers every seven days.”

“Karisch noted that Border Patrol has apprehended more families illegally crossing the border in the first five months of fiscal 2019 than during all of fiscal 2018,” Fox News reported. “Customs and Border Protection (CBP) apprehended more than 76,000 migrants across the border in February and said it was on track to apprehend more than 100,000 in March. In the Rio Grande Valley alone, Karisch said that at current pace, they would have more than 260,000 apprehensions in his sector by the end of fiscal 2019. There were 162,000 in RGV last year. He also said that his agents apprehend, on average, 1,000 people a day.”,%202019%20at%2003:06:10%20PM

Sen. Ted Cruz has announced that a committee he chairs will hold a hearing to investigate whether Twitter and other social media are seeking to censor conservative speech — and one prime topic of conversation in the hearing will be the anti-abortion film “Unplanned.”

The film, which was released March 29, takes a critical look at Planned Parenthood. “As one of the youngest Planned Parenthood clinic directors in the nation, Abby Johnson was involved in upwards of 22,000 abortions and counseled countless women on their reproductive choices,” movie review site Rotten Tomatoes says in a brief description of the film. “Her passion surrounding a woman’s right to choose led her to become a spokesperson for Planned Parenthood, fighting to enact legislation for the cause she so deeply believed in. Until the day she saw something that changed everything.”

Shortly before the movie came out, Twitter briefly suspended its page.,%202019%20at%2003:06:10%20PM

“Two Sudanese men are on trial for attempting to send some 1,000 young men to fight for Libyan General Khalifa Haftar, the Sudanese newspaper Attention has reported. One of the men who appeared at the Darfur Grand Court of Justice reportedly belongs to a prominent tribe in the country. A date has been set for the trial to continue.

The case initially arose in February when the Sudanese authorities arrested a group of smugglers and found them to have signed an agreement with a Libyan tribe loyal to Haftar. Under the deal, the general’s forces would train and arm the foreign fighters, while the Sudanese counterparts would receive money in Libyan currency for the men they transferred…”

Qatari Sociologist blames the Jews for the New Zealand Massacre in an Antisemitic Tirade

Google does manipulate its search results manually, contrary to the company’s official denials, documents obtained exclusively by The Daily Caller indicate.

Two official policies dubbed the “misrepresentation policy” and the “good neighbor policy” inform the company’s “XPA news blacklist,” which is maintained by Google’s Trust & Safety team. “T&S will be in charge of updating the blacklist as when there is a demand,” reads one of the documents shared with The Daily Caller.

“The deceptive_news domain blacklist is going to be used by many search features to filter problematic sites that violate the good neighbor and misrepresentation policies,” the policy document says.

That document reads that it was, “approved by gomes@, nayak@, haahr@ as of 8/13/2018.” Ben Gomes is Google’s head of search, who reports directly to CEO Sundar Pichai. Pandu Nayak is a Google Fellow, and Paul Haahr is a software engineer, whose bio on Google’s internal network Moma indicates that he is also involved in, “fringe ranking: not showing fake news, hate speech, conspiracy theories, or science/medical/history denial unless we’re sure that’s what the user wants.”

“The purpose of the blacklist will be to bar the sites from surfacing in any Search feature or news product. It will not cause a demotion in the organic search results or de-index them altogether,” reads the policy document obtained by the Caller. What that means is that targeted sites will not be removed from the “ten blue links” portion of search results, but the blacklist applies to most of the other search features, like “top news,” “videos” or the various sidebars that are returned as search results.

In a section of the memo entitled “Eligibility for GNP [Good Neighbor Policy] enforcement,” the types of search results impacted by the policy are described:

“If your product shows any of the following, Misrep and GNP would apply to your PA.

Shows content from users and news publishers (percieved 3P voice). Ex: UGC, News corpus, etc.

Outputs single answers (perceived to come from the open web). Ex: Web answers, Video answers, etc.

Shows content owned, licensed, or edited by Google (perceived to come directly from Google). Ex: Knowledge panels, News summaries, Oneboxes, Munin carousels, etc.”

The “ten blue links” may not be impacted by the blacklist, but virtually every other kind of Google search result is. While hard numbers are not available for how much traffic is directed through the 10 links versus the other search blocks, since the latter appear so high on the results page, the impact could be significant.

“Focus on the user,” said a source at Google who described the program to the Caller. “Users need to trust any content that Google shows them, whether it’s the 10 blue links or other special search results.”

Sundar Pichai testified before the House Judiciary Committee on Dec. 11 of last year. Democratic California Rep. Zoe Lofgren asked why a search for the term “idiot” returned a photo of President Trump. In response, Pichai said, “This is working at scale, we don’t manually intervene on any particular search result.”

A memo about the deceptive news blacklist was also obtained by the Caller, showing its last edit as Dec. 3, 2018, a week before Pichai’s congressional testimony. This document, which describes the process by which a site can be blacklisted for deceptive news, clearly shows that there is a manual component:

“The beginning of the workflow starts when a website is placed on a watchlist which is used for monitoring of sites to determine if they violate the Good Neighbor Policy. This watchlist is maintained and stored by Ares with access restricted to policy & enforcement specialists working on the Good Neighbor Policy. Access to the listing can also be shared at the discretion of pcounsel and legal investigations on a need to know basis to enforce or enrich the policy violations. The investigation of the watchlist is done in the tool Athena, the Ares manual review tool, and intakes signals from Search, Webspan, and Ares in order to complete reviews. … Once a domain is determined to be violating the misrepresentation policy or the Good Neighbor Policy, such patterns are then added to deceptive_news_blacklist_domains.txt by the Trust & Safety team.”

The document indicates that there is, among other things, a “manual review tool” involved in maintaining the blacklist.

On the blacklist are a number of conservative sites, including Gateway Pundit, Matt Walsh’s blog, Gary North’s blog “,” Caroline Glick’s website, Conservative Tribune, a property of The Western Journal and the website of the American Spectator.

“You can’t trust the human judgment of Google’s Trust and Safety team,” said the source at Google with knowledge of their practices.

Requests for comment from Google’s press team have gone unreturned as of publication time.

Update: A Google spokesperson provided the following statement to the Daily Caller after this story was published: “We do not manually determine the order of any search result, nor do our algorithms or policies attempt to make any judgement on the political leanings of a website. Our Google News inclusion policies are publicly available online. They provide guidelines on content and behaviors for matters like sponsored content, deceptive practices, and more. Sites that do not adhere to these policies are not eligible to appear on news surfaces or in information boxes in Search. These policies do not impact the way these sites appear in organic blue-link Google Search results.”

According to a notification, Nacta has signed a multilateral cooperation contract with the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), the Financial Monetary Unit (FMU) and provincial Counter Terrorism Departments (CTDs)

Nacta said the aim of this contract is to trace money laundering used in fomenting terrorism; to curtail this and to conduct an effective investigation. Through this agreement, suggestions of Nacta’s National Task Force against terror funding would be implemented effectively.

All the said institutions will cooperate under the anti-money laundering Act 2010 and antiterrorism Act 1997. Apart from this, all institutions will be able to share confidential information regarding the terror financing through this contract.

Responding to Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo’s tweet that Nunes would be sending eight criminal referrals to DOJ, Meadows wrote, “The right move from @DevinNunes. More criminal referrals to come. And certainly more deserved. Overwhelming evidence shows multiple FBI + DOJ executives abused their power to undermine a duly elected President Trump. They will be held accountable.”

  37. The collective freak out over President Donald Trump’s proposed Presidential Committee on Climate Science (PCCS) highlights the fact that the hysteria surrounding the man-made global-warming hypothesis is unscientific — and that it must be re-examined by competent, credible experts. According to scientists and experts, if the science on “climate change” were truly settled, Democrats, tax-funded climate alarmists, and the establishment media would all be celebrating another committee to confirm that “conclusion.” Instead, the unhinged shrieking over Trump’s plan to investigate the matter strongly suggests something very fishy is going on, critics argued. Indeed, there is a good chance that even more fraud could be revealed.

The hysteria first broke out last month. In late February, documents emerged showing that the White House was planning to create a committee of federal scientists. Their job: re-examine widely disputed conclusions on climate change by previous government bodies. Especially problematic to the man-made global-warming theorists was the prestigious scientist selected to lead the commission, Princeton University physicist and national security advisor Dr. William Happer (shown). Of course, Happer is a widely respected scientist who happens to disagree with the increasingly discredited hypothesis that man’s emissions of CO2 — a fraction of one percent of all the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere — control the climate.

  39. Heads Up! – New York Times Advanced Narrative Move: IG Office Investigating Stefan Halper…
Posted on April 9, 2019 by sundance
Something is coming… something delicious. How can we tell? Well, whenever a bombshell is about to drop on the corrupt Intelligence Community, the New York Times does a quick narrative dump to get out ahead of the story.

All the way down, buried deep, in a NYT story about Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s FISA investigation and AG Barr’s review of DOJ and FBI activity… they drop the following two paragraphs (emphasis mine):

…] The inspector general is also scrutinizing another early source of information for the Russia investigation, the people said: Mr. Horowitz’s investigators have been asking questions about the role of Stefan A. Halper, another F.B.I. informant, and his prior work for the bureau.

Agents involved in the Russia investigation asked Mr. Halper, an American academic who teaches in Britain, to gather information on Mr. Page and George Papadopoulos, another former Trump campaign foreign policy adviser. (read more)

Oh? NYT now saying FBI agents asked help from intelligence asset Stefan Halper to go gather information on Carter Page and George Papadopoulos?
