Each day at just after midnight Eastern, a post like this one is created for contributors and readers of this site to upload news links and video links on the issues that concern this site. Most notably, Islam and its effects on Classical Civilization, and various forms of leftism from Soviet era communism, to postmodernism and all the flavours of galloping statism and totalitarianism such as Nazism and Fascism which are increasingly snuffing out the classical liberalism which created our near, miraculous civilization the West has been building since the time of Socrates.

This document was written around the time this site was created, for those who wish to understand what this site is about. And while our understanding of the world and events has grown since then, the basic ideas remain sound and true to the purpose.

So please post all links, thoughts and ideas that you feel will benefit the readers of this site to the comments under this post each day. And thank you all for your contributions.

This is the new Samizdat. We muse use it while we can.

    This past week, Luke Rosiak reported for the Daily Caller News Foundation on a concern expressed by Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) about a 2012 motion before the FISA court to expand the sharing of intelligence collected under FISA authority. Gohmert’s concern is certainly an arresting one. He seems to hint, as quoted by Rosiak, that the motion’s real objective was somewhat buried by being inserted toward the end. And that probably isn’t an unfair reading.

    But the motion, in hindsight, has plenty of sizzle to it simply on its face. It has the potential to explain a lot, and to have opened the door to a lot – a lot, that is, of what we have gotten whiffs of in the Russiagate saga.

    The motion was brought in April 2012 by the Justice Department, then operating under former President Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder. Gohmert’s particular focus is a rules revision proposed near the end of the 70-page motion (on page 64), affecting the sharing of U.S. person information with foreign governments.

    Richard: This one gets complicated with the cast of characters moving from one job to another, from one company to another and the companies changing names. Of course the Dems do this to reward faithful minions and to hide the trail from anyone trying to follow the crimes they are committing. It is worth the time it takes to read the article and at times refer to other articles that are fleshing out the facts. These are part of the people who have been engaged in the soft coup against President Trump. They have been working a lot time to gain the power they had under Obama are are not about to give up that power just because the voters elected non leftists. We see this in their refusal to accept defeat and wait for another election with their repeated attempts to revive the Russia Gate scandal. As we see this in their selective enforcement of the laws and their Stalinist tactics of investigating the people who oppose them until they find some crime or supposed crime to tar them with.

    We are living through a change in the World Order one that the left is trying to steer into a one world socialist government. If we don’t wake up and fight for our freedom we will one day discover that we have no freedom, that the Government will decide everything for us.

      There’s an acute teacher shortage, which is due to low wages. Instead of increasing wages, the government opts to theow money at people who don’t even speak the language.
      And they push the narrative again that these people have a STEM background. The Shanghai rankings of universities in the islamic world indicate they’re at the level of european highschools.
      Not to mention many refugees bought fake degrees with their fake IDs. Not testing these guys before employing them is criminal neglicenge imho.

    Speaking at a news conference in Milan on Monday, the Italian deputy prime minister, along with leaders of patriotic parties from across the bloc, announced the creation of the European Alliance of Peoples and Nations (EAPN) ahead of May’s EU Parliament elections.

    “The news is that we are expanding the [eurosceptic] family, we are working for a new European dream. Today for many citizens and for many people Europe represents a nightmare and not a dream,” said Salvini, speaking alongside Alternative for Germany (AfD) leader Joerg Meuthen.

France’s National Rally (RN) and Austria’s populist Freedom Party (FPO) confirmed they were also planning to be part of the new grouping.

    “We aim to win [EU Parliament elections] and change Europe… We are working for the futures of our children,” Salvini told the conference, adding that the 27-member bloc “makes sense if it recognises identity and culture, rather than the nightmare if it were to look only towards business and finance”.

    He also dismissed claims from globalist politicians and the media branding patriotic parties in Europe that wish to preserve their culture as dangerous extremists, telling reporters at the event: “The dangers are not in the past, as neither fascism nor communism will return.”

    “Islamic extremism is the danger [now],” asserted the Italian vice-premier, before stating that Turkey “will never enter [Europe] under our watch. Never.”

    “The EU chooses to pursue sanctions against Hungary and Poland while giving billions [of euros] to Turkey. The path to accession should not be suspended, but instead definitively cancelled,” he added, stressing that the majority-Muslim country “has nothing to do with Europe”.”

    CNN founder Ted Turner has already bragged about living with several women. As for the late creator of Playboy, Hugh Hefner, having long shared his life with seven women, octogenarian, he still had three, Crystal Harris, 24, and two identical twins aged 20, Kristina and Karissa Shannon.

    Sharia, the sacred book of 1 800 000 000 Muslims (24% of the world’s population), allows polygamy which is legal in about 60 countries. Not in Canada (section 293 of the Criminal Code). Those who defend polygamy say its prohibition is an affront to the most fundamental rights guaranteed by the “Trudeau Charter” – freedom of religion and freedom of association.

    There are more than a million Muslims in Canada, and polygamy, though infrequent, is not troubling. CBC’s The Fifth Estate survey program , in January, spoke to dozens of Canadian Muslim women whose husbands have imposed other wives. Islam allows men to have up to four women. Journalist Habiba Nosheen has discovered that there are even dating sites specializing in polygamous marriages like secondwife.com .

  16. A British woman’s disparaging Facebook posts about her ex-husband’s new wife reportedly may land her in a Dubai jail for up to two years.

    Laleh Shahravesh, 55, of London was arrested along with her teenage daughter at the airport in Dubai last month after visiting the United Arab Emirates for her ex-husband’s funeral.

    According to Detained in Dubai, she was taken into custody for two Facebook posts made while living in the United Kingdom in 2016 that discussed her husband’s remarriage. Her daughter, 14, was eventually allowed to leave and is staying with relatives in London.

    Shahravesh, however, faces up to two years in prison or a $652,000 fine.

    The top Republican on the House Judiciary Committee is urging the panel’s Democratic chairman to have special counsel Robert Mueller testify about his findings from the 22-month investigation into Russian interference.

    Rep. Doug Collins (R-Ga.) in a letter on Monday called on Chairman Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.) to seek Mueller’s testimony, rather than going after Attorney General William Barr, arguing that this is the best path to obtaining transparency.

    “If you seek both transparency and for the American public to learn the full contours of the Special Counsel’s investigation, public testimony from Special Counsel Mueller himself is undoubtedly the best way to accomplish this goal,” Collins wrote to Nadler.

    “To that end, Special Counsel Mueller should be invited to testify before the Committee during the week of April 22. Although the House is expected to be in recess that week, I think we can agree this business is too important to wait, and Members of the Committee will surely return to Washington at such a critical moment in our country’s history,” Collins continued.

    The post-presidential era of his life seems to be a bit of a challenge to the ego of Barack Hussein Obama. Never shy about referring to himself while president, now that that man in the White House is reversing his policies and spectacularly succeeding it’s got to be hard on his self-esteem. And let’s not forget the psychological pressure that may be building in the wake of the collapse of the Russia Hoax and the possible investigation of its origins.

    So, what’s a comparatively young (age 57) man with decades of life ahead to do to compensate? Self-reflection and personal growth are out of the question, of course (this is Barack Obama, after all, the man who claimed to better at everything than his aides charged with speech-writing, economic policy and much more), so it appears that defensive ego boosting is his chosen course.

  21. The Dingbats On DC’s City Council Just Screwed A Bunch Of Educational Non-Profits Out Of Millions

    It appears when Washington, D.C.’s city council members aren’t using their public servant positions to pad their own wallets or spreading anti-Semitic conspiracy theories about Jews controlling the weather, they’re forgetting to do their job. Recently, their negligence screwed deserving educational local non-profits out of millions of dollars which could have helped underprivileged youths.

    The Washington Post says, “the city lost eligibility for more than $3.5 million in AmeriCorps funding for three education nonprofits: City Year, Reading Partners and the Literacy Lab,” after the city agency responsible for submitting the proper paperwork AmeriCorp missed not one, but two deadlines which could have secured the money.

    Serve D.C. is tasked with making sure the three aforementioned non-profits punctually comply with federal deadlines. The three non-profit submitted their paperwork with ample time, but the city could not get the paperwork in by the January 30th deadline. The city blames technical errors, something that the federal agencies dispute.

    Remember the Justice Democrats? That’s the group that was pushing not only Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez but other upstarts seeking to primary incumbent Democrats who were deemed insufficiently progressive. More recently, the “primary everybody” movement has come under fire from party leaders, leading to the DCCC declaring open season on any politicos who assist such efforts. This doesn’t seem to have diminished the zeal of AOC and her friends one bit. In fact, it may have backfired. The Justice Democrats have now launched the “DCCC Blacklist” and they’re signing up rebels who want to ignore the marching orders of the DCCC and keep the primary efforts alive.

As such, the 25-year-old’s meteoric career is a telling example of how Europe’s new identitarian movements are connecting with more traditional nationalist organizations.

    Shield & Friends (Schild & Vrienden, S&V), started as an online discussion group in August 2017, named after a thirteenth-century Flemish battle-cry against the French. It soon experienced rapid and organic growth as more and more Flemish youth discovered that others shared their concerns about immigration and cultural decline. “Sometimes people had close friends whom they did not even know were right-wing,” says Van Langenhove. “It’s easier to come out as transgender than conservative here. If you oppose late-term abortion, you are looked at as though you are crazy.” He jokes that S&V became a rare “safe space” for nationalists and conservatives amidst a fiercely left-wing campus culture.

    S&V made a name for itself through pro-social activities and civic engagement: activists picked up litter during a garbagemen strike, donated blood, and volunteered to spend time with lonely elderly persons. S&V’s work took a more political turn with the fight for free speech, which is severely threatened on Belgian university campuses, at least insofar as nationalist and conservative ideas are concerned. On one occasion, the center-right interior minister, Theo Franken, gave a speech at Ghent University: left-wing students went on a rampage, smashing windows, spraying graffiti, and attacking attendants.

    This was so even though Franken is a moderate figure: while he has melodramatically deported a few handfuls of migrants and criminals, he has continued to allow the entrance of over 100,000 migrants into Belgium every year, a significant figure for a country of 11 million people. Franken is portrayed as something of a demonic figure in the country’s French-language media. Van Langenhove organized a protection service the second time Franken came to the university:

    Leak of Classified Info Reaches ‘Record High Levels’ Under Trump

    Illegal leaks of classified information have reportedly reached “record high levels” during the Trump administration, according to a nonprofit group citing DOJ stats.

    OTTAWA — Six Canadian individuals and groups involved in “organized hate” have been banned from having any further presence on Facebook and Instagram.

    Those banned include one-time Toronto mayoral candidate Faith Goldy.

    Also banned are the Canadian Nationalist Front and its white nationalist chairman, Kevin Goudreau, Aryan Strikeforce, Wolves of Odin and Soldiers of Odin (also known as Canadian Infidels).

    Facebook is imposing the ban after concluding the six spread hate and urge attacks on or exclusion of others based on their identity, in contravention of the social media giant’s policy on dangerous organizations and individuals.

    Goldy provided sympathetic coverage for Rebel Media of the 2017 white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Va.; she was subsequently fired by Rebel Media for taking part in a podcast on a neo-Nazi group’s website.

    In February, Goldy was among those who spoke to a convoy of truckers protesting federal policies on pipelines and carbon taxation, but which also included anti-immigration and white nationalist messages; Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer and People’s Party of Canada Leader Maxime Bernier also addressed the protesters.

    CBC – Facebook bans Faith Goldy and ‘dangerous’ alt-right groups

    Social media giant says platform can’t be used to spread hate

    Facebook is banning far-right political commentator Faith Goldy, white nationalist crusader Kevin Goudreau and various extremist groups, the social media company said Monday.

    The company said it has longstanding policies on extremist content and organized hate groups and is barring the individuals and organizations under its “Dangerous Individuals and Organizations” community standards policy.

    Goldy’s views have been described as far-right white nationalist. She was fired from Rebel Media in 2017 after taking part in a neo-Nazi podcast.

    “Individuals and organizations who spread hate, attack, or call for the exclusion of others on the basis of who they are have no place on Facebook. That’s why we have a policy on dangerous individuals and organizations, which states that we do not allow those who are engaged in offline ‘organized hate’ to have a presence on Facebook,” reads a statement from Facebook.

    “The individuals and organizations we have banned today violate this policy, and they will no longer be allowed a presence on our services. Our work against organized hate is ongoing and we will continue to review individuals, pages, groups and content against our community standards.”

    Facebook said the Canadian Nationalist Front, Aryan Strikeforce, Wolves of Odin and Soldiers of Odin (also known as Canadian Infidels) have also been banned from “having any further presence” on its services. The company said it also intends to remove content affiliated with those banned, including linked pages and groups.

    The pages began to disappear from Facebook this morning.

    Facebook works with various academics and organizations around the world to determine which ones are hate organizations.

    Asked by CBC News for her reaction, Goldy sent an email citing her statement on Twitter about being banished from Facebook and Instagram.

    “Our enemies are weak and terrified. They forget most revolutions were waged before social media!” she tweeted.

    CBC News has contacted Twitter to ask if Goldy will also be banned from that platform, but has not yet heard back.

    Last week, Goldy tweeted that she had been barred from the Airbnb home-sharing service.

    Edmonton-based freelance journalist Bashir Mohamed, who writes about white supremacy and the Ku Klux Klan in Canada, applauds Facebook’s move but said he wishes it had happened sooner.

    “I would have hoped that it would have been done sooner,” Bashir said. “There’s this idea that she became white supremacist in 2017 after Charlottesville, but if you look at her articles it goes back to 2015 where she is actually talking about white-supremacist ideals like white genocide.”

    Goldy failed in her bid to become Toronto’s mayor in last year’s mayoral race.

    ‘No place’ for divisive statements

    Minister of Democratic Institutions Karina Gould said racist and violent views should not be tolerated on social media platforms.

    “There is no place in Canada for these kinds of divisive societal statements,” she said. “We are pleased that Facebook has made this decision and would hope that other platforms would look to Facebook’s actions.”

    NDP MP Nathan Cullen called Facebook’s move a “one-off” that targeted particularly hateful and high profile groups and individuals.

    “We think that’s progress, but it’s inconsistent. Without any set of guidelines or rules, then we’re allowing self-regulation,” he said. “We’re allowing Facebook and Google to decide when and where and who.”

    The Canadian Anti-Hate Network called the targets of today’s bans the “tip of the iceberg.” It said that groups which have made even worse comments remain on Facebook.

    “Next we are calling on Facebook to remove the Yellow Vests Canada page, which shares hundreds of examples of overt racism, death threats and white nationalist sentiment,” reads a statement from executive director Evan Balgord. “We are still calling on government to enforce the Canadian Human Rights Act against social media companies, which are providing their services in a discriminatory manner.”

    Asked whether it would be looking at banning other groups, such as Yellow Vests Canada, Facebook told CBC the work of determining whether posted content violates the platform’s policy on extremism is “ongoing.”

    Funds for alt-right research

    Last month, the Liberal government announced a special fund for research into right-wing extremism. Through it, the University of Ontario Institute of Technology got a three-year grant of $366,985 to conduct interviews with law enforcement, community anti-hate activists and former and current extremists to gain a better understanding of the beliefs, motivations and activities of extremists.

    The U.K. announced plans today to fine or block internet sites that fail to stop online hate, terrorist propaganda or child abuse.

  41. OTTAWA — Six Canadian individuals and groups involved in “organized hate” have been banned from having any further presence on Facebook and Instagram.

    Those banned include one-time Toronto mayoral candidate Faith Goldy.

    Also banned are the Canadian Nationalist Front and its white nationalist chairman, Kevin Goudreau, Aryan Strikeforce, Wolves of Odin and Soldiers of Odin (also known as Canadian Infidels).

    Facebook is imposing the ban after concluding the six spread hate and urge attacks on or exclusion of others based on their identity, in contravention of the social media giant’s policy on dangerous organizations and individuals.

    In all of the circumstances, the PM and his colleagues were justified in throwing Wilson-Raybould out of the Liberal caucus, bag and baggage

    It is painful to be so out of step with many politicians and commentators with whom I normally agree, but I don’t think the unfolding Jody Wilson-Raybould controversy is being evaluated correctly. As I have written here before, Wilson-Raybould committed a number of acts and adopted a number of policies as minister of justice that advanced the interests of the native people, or at least some of the leaders among the native people, at the expense of the Canadian national interest. She incited suspicion about whether she was exercising her powers even-handedly. She had a duty to ensure that the decisions she took were objectively just and fair. I don’t believe she was blameless in these matters, and it would be surprising if that were not part of the motivation in shuffling her to another ministerial portfolio. I appear to be among the very few people in this country who has mentioned this aspect of the controversy, which indicates the extreme reluctance of anyone to touch native affairs policy. That is an aversion the political class and the media will have to overcome, as it is a vital and delicate field in desperate need of reform.

    On the ostensible principal cause of the Wilson-Raybould controversy, the treatment of SNC-Lavalin, the government has badly mishandled the case tactically, but has a stronger moral and practical position than it generally gets credit for on three important aspects of it. First, the law forbidding Canadians, and especially Canadian business people, from doing such things as bribery in foreign countries where such unsavoury practices are a condition precedent to doing business at all, when the individuals are only doing so in the legitimate interest of the businesses involved and at no direct profit to themselves, is nonsense. Canada is a G7 country with a number of distinguished international companies and we cannot expect these corporations to compete with one hand tied behind their backs in much of the world. The determination of what constitutes an acceptable ethical climate for the conduct of business resides with the jurisdiction where the transactions take place. It is preposterous for, in this case, a Canadian company to be penalized for conduct in Libya that reflects the commercial customs of that country, even if the same actions in Canada would be illegal. Canada must stop masquerading as the self-elevated eagle scout of world commerce.

    The Islamic Republic of Iran today, through its terror proxies and puppet regimes, has been extending its hegemony to many capitals of the Middle East: Tehran, Baghdad, Damascus, Beirut, Sanaa. Iran continues to threaten the Middle East, the Mediterranean basin and potentially Europe. Forty years after its theocratic revolution in 1979, the mullahs speak (wishfully, one assumes) of a “declining” America.

    “America cannot manage its own affairs now”, Ayatollah Ahmad Jannati, the secretary of the powerful Guardian Council, said on state television. “Millions of people are hungry there and America’s power is in decline”. Such declarations may be intended to hide Iran’s own terrible decline, fleeing reality and crumbling from within.

    Iran was the first country, in 1979, to bring down a secular, pro-Western government and replace it with an Islamic theocracy. The experiment, however, seems to have failed. Instead of bringing prosperity and freedom, it brought poverty and repression. Even without considering the terrible persecution of women, journalists, academics dissidents and sexual minorities, the Iranian regime is crumbling.

    • The Floods and the Mullahs

      The current nationwide floods in Iran are one of the biggest natural disasters Iran has suffered in half a century. The floods struck over 300 towns and cities in 22 of Iran’s 31 provinces, affecting 18.5 million people, almost a quarter of the total. The natural disaster has also revealed some of the fundamental weaknesses of Iran’s dysfunctional system.

      The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) was forced to intervene to protect some of the infrastructures it has built and runs as businesses. It was soon revealed that those infrastructures, including railway lines built in traditional flood channels and dams hastily erected in wrong places and wrong rivers, massively contributed to the floods.

      The IRGC has built over 300 crude dams to divert waters of various rivers to land it had transferred to its officers. The IRGC has also helped many peasants cut down large tracts of forests, further raising the risk of floods.
      Iranians watched in amazement as special units of the regular army moved to save lives, prevent floods from spreading further, reopen roads and even start repairing some of the damage.

      The IRGC reacted by ferrying in dozens of Madaheen, professional reciters of religious chants whose patron is “Supreme Guide” Khamenei. The Madaheen jumped into the flood waters chanting, “Suffering makes us strong!” and “We are not afraid of death,” while beating their chests.

    Addressing an International Women’s Day gathering in Varanasi on March 8, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi stressed the “crucial role” that women play in his country’s development.

    Indian President Ram Nath Kovind echoed this sentiment on social media, tweeting:

    “Women are the sheet-anchor of society, an inspiration for their families and for our nation. Let us strive to ensure equality of opportunity for every women [sic] and every girl child.”

    Less than three months earlier, “women’s empowerment” was also a theme at India’s annual January 26 Republic Day parade.

    In spite of the recurring lip service, however — as well as attempts at reform — the situation for women in India remains grim. Women face discrimination in every aspect of life. Before they are even born, their existence is under threat: mothers are pressured to abort female babies.

    Police in Utrecht made an unusual discovery on Tuesday when they discovered a secret tunnel running below several homes along the J.P. Coenstraat. Investigators think the 18-meter-long hidden corridor was only recently created, but residents say they have no idea how or when it was constructed.

    Authorities arrived on the street at about 10 a.m. They were responding to multiple reports of an inexplicable scent of clay and smoke, police said in a statement.

    Officers gained entrance to a vacant home on the block and found the tunnel via a whole in the building’s crawlspace. If the corridor was built of late, it could explain the fresh smell of clay, a police spokesperson told broadcaster NOS.

    A team of explosives disposal experts were called in as a precaution, and sent a robotic vehicle into the passageway after standing water was pumped out of the space.

    Police on Tuesday said the tunnel appeared to be a dead end with only the one entry and exit point via the vacant home. Residents did file reports of damage related to the tunnel, which investigators will examine further, police said.

    “Saudi Arabia announced on Monday that it thwarted a terrorist attack, plotted by four fugitives in the eastern al-Qatif region.

    A spokesman for the state security presidency said that security forces carried out a preemptive operation against the fugitives on Sunday. The operation was carried out in coordination with the security forces in the Eastern Region.

    It was carried out as the fugitives sought to get inside a vehicle and travel towards the Abu Hadriyah road to stage their attack.

    A shootout ensued as the suspects opened fire at the security forces when they moved in to arrest them.

    The suspects’ vehicle was damaged in the shootout, forcing them to head to a nearby gas station where they tossed a hand grenade that caused a small fire at the station.

    The shootout left two suspects dead. They have been identified as Saudi nationals Majed Ali Abdulrahim al-Faraj and Mahmoud Ahmed Ali al-Zareh. The two other suspects were arrested and their identities have not been disclosed.

    A Bahraini woman was wounded in the incident. She was at the station with her family. A Pakistani driver of a fuel tanker and two members of the security forces were also injured.

    The suspects all have criminal records related to terrorist cases in al-Qatif. They are accused of opening fire at civilians and security forces and attacking public facilities, security and economic establishments. They are also accused of theft, armed robbery, kidnapping, rape and drug smuggling.

    The security forces seized a number of weapons and explosives in the suspects’ vehicle, as well as a fake Bahraini identification card.”
